- 0:00Speaker 1: Okay, David Katzmeyer is going to come up and share
- 0:04his thoughts with you for a minute, and then we're
- 0:05going to have Andreas, and he's going to tell a
- 0:08little story. Kiona, she's going to tell a little story.
- 0:12And then we're going to have the Bling One do
- 0:14their thing again. One song, and then we're going to
- 0:17close the show with, guess who? Doug Harden is going
- 0:23to do a song, quickie, and then Bling, and then Luma,
- 0:27and then we're out of here.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Thank you, Paul.
- 0:31Speaker 3: May peace prevail on Earth.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Special big thanks to my friend, Reverend Paul Slotkus of
- 0:38Good News Broadcast, a nonprofit organization, and to Austin Tong,
- 0:45back there working on a computer, who has helped Paul
- 0:48for years. For some 24 years, they've been bringing Peace
- 0:52Day Party to New York. I know I've been helping
- 0:55them for years with International Peace Day in New York.
- 0:58And as I look around and I see many faces,
- 1:02many backgrounds, one purpose, reminds me what Deepak Chopra said.
- 1:09We are on an evolutionary step from going from survival
- 1:14of the fittest to survival of the wisest. So consider
- 1:20the world outside us is only as beautiful as the
- 1:24world within. We can be the change we seek in
- 1:29the world. Be the change, easy to remember, easy to forget.
- 1:36But let us remember peace through the changes, because before
- 1:45us lie times of great change. We, as a people,
- 1:53our strength collectively rises and falls like tides. Remember the change.
- 2:03The heart of us all, together, our aspirations, our dreams,
- 2:08rise and fall like tides. Remember the change. Our collective
- 2:14mind rises and falls like tides. Remember the change through
- 2:19it all. Because great change.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Does lie before us.
- 2:24Speaker 4: In the tides of time, in the cycles of the world,
- 2:25the crisis of 2027 will give us evil chaos and turmoil,
- 2:34and it will seem like everything's falling apart. But it
- 2:37is the birth pangs of a new era. For the
- 2:41decade before us holds great promise, more than the decade
- 2:46we leave behind. Through good times, bad times, times of chaos,
- 2:53the one constant through it all is peace, and that's stillness.
- 2:59And that's where you find love. And that is the
- 3:03source of peace. So thank you, Paul. Thank you, Good
- 3:08News Broadcast. Thank you all for coming. And as Ringo
- 3:12would say, peace.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Thank you, David Katzmeyer. He also has been doing our
- 3:21website for 20 plus years. Okay, Andreas. Andreas Dortchman. He's
- 3:27going to tell a little tale, an environmental tale, and
- 3:30share his wonderfulness. He's a senior executive. He's running a
- 3:35big company. And we have a lovely lady with him
- 3:41who does charitable artwork and so.
- 3:43Speaker 3: On and so forth. Here's a mic. Have fun. Enjoy.
- 3:46Thank you so much, Paul. Hello, New York.
- 3:50Speaker 5: Great to see you. We're going to try something a
- 3:52little different today. We're gonna do what's like a fairytale,
- 3:55but a sustainable fairytale, or sustainable.
- 3:59Speaker 3: So let me start.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Once upon a time, on the first day of spring,
- 4:05that's chapter one, the children woke up.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Early, as they often do.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Little Zoe reached the meadow first, still wet with morning dew.
- 4:15She waited for her favorite sound, the bumblebee's buzz, but
- 4:20no sound came round. No bees, no birds, no butterflies.
- 4:25The meadow stood still. Something was missing from here all
- 4:30the way to the hill. You'd think the grownups would
- 4:34have realized it upon sight, but adults are busy from
- 4:38morning until night. With jobs to do and places to be,
- 4:43the adults hurried past the empty fields too quickly to see.
- 4:48The children stood in empty parks, Meadows silent and still,
- 4:54sensing something was wrong, something they had noticed all along.
- 5:01Then children did what children do when they needed a clue.
- 5:05They started asking questions, as children tend to do. At breakfast,
- 5:13Zoe asked her papa, Where did all the bees go?
- 5:18Her papa tried to answer, but said he just didn't know.
- 5:23At school, she asked her teacher, where did all the
- 5:26birds go? Her teacher tried to answer, but she said
- 5:31she did not know. Then after school, she asked Granny, Granny,
- 5:37where did all the butterflies go? To which Granny got
- 5:41a far away look in her wise old eyes. When
- 5:45I was young, her granny said, I remember still, the
- 5:49skies were full of bees and birds and butterflies on
- 5:52every hill. With no trees of bees, birds, and butterflies
- 5:58in the sky, Granny broke down completely and began to cry. Granny,
- 6:06you should know, was part of what the media call
- 6:08the silent majority, the biggest group of all. Billions were
- 6:13blessed by the conveniences of modern industry, kind and friendly folks,
- 6:18and even though they saw, smelled, and tolerated pollution, they
- 6:22remained silent, one and all. To be silent seems so safe, polite,
- 6:28and yet so easy too. So no one said a
- 6:30single word, and that's why pollution grew. Two centuries of
- 6:36quiet let it climb and rise to levels that were
- 6:39dangerous right before our very eyes.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Page two.
- 6:51Speaker 5: If there's one thing being feared by the industries, politicians,
- 6:55and the media that smog, scheme, and dirty spit, it
- 6:58was the day the silent majority would find its voice
- 7:02and project it. But not today. Granny grabbed her phone.
- 7:07This time, instead of playing Candy Crush, she filmed one
- 7:12minute of her garden, no birds, no bees, no butterflies,
- 7:16and texted to her neighbor in a rush. The neighbor
- 7:20listened to this perfect still. Then he shared it with
- 7:22a farmer on the hill. The farmer shared it and
- 7:26traveled far and wide. Then to a nurse, a baker,
- 7:30a candlestick maker, who all passed it on with pride.
- 7:35It didn't reach just hundreds. It reached into the millions,
- 7:39embracing the whole planet with it. Social media scrammed to
- 7:45drown the truth like a rat.
- 7:47Speaker 6: Fake!
- 7:48Speaker 5: Bees are bad for business. Flowers are over-related. Hey, everybody,
- 7:52look over here. A funny video of a cat. Social
- 7:57media's great power was now plain as plain could be.
- 8:00Their power was never the internet. Their power was the
- 8:03silence of the people on it to a very large degree.
- 8:07And now that silence was over, and it had found
- 8:10its voice. In the Capitol, the politician's saw a tsunami.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Of millions of texts.
- 8:16Speaker 5: It's time, they said, to craft new laws to protect
- 8:19and sustain Mother Nature next. Now the great sustaining didn't
- 8:24happen in a day. Great things never usually do.
- 8:28Speaker 3: You know, they grow a slower way.
- 8:31Speaker 5: It's a tale of smoky industries that learn to run
- 8:33a cleaner way, of politicians passing laws for good, and
- 8:37of media that finally told the truth about our lands today.
- 8:41And the story ends where it began. Out in the meadow,
- 8:46where little Zoe watches a lovely scene, a bee lands
- 8:49on a flower. Zoe holds her breath, and then the
- 8:53bee buzzed. And to answer that age-old question, to be
- 9:00or not to be, the answer is, there will always
- 9:03be bees, thanks to Zoe and Granny.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Thank you very much.
- 9:12Speaker 5: This is Jana Niggen with RAP, Andreas Deutschmann with Avalon Securities,
- 9:17and I'm also a comedian. If you want to get
- 9:19some more information on what shows in the past, please
- 9:21come up to us, and let me let Jana introduce herself.
- 9:26Speaker 7: Hello, everyone.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Andreas, thank you so much. This was very deep.
- 9:33Speaker 7: We are not throwing bowls.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Okay. So, Andreas.
- 9:39Speaker 7: I want to say.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Thank you so much for bringing me here. Paul, thank
- 9:42you so much.
- 9:43Speaker 7: I represent WRAP, Waste Reduction Art Project. And what we
- 9:48do is we bring culture. So what makes peace? People
- 9:54who actually are cultured are less likely to fight so
- 10:01we create art we teach how to create art from
- 10:04waste we are doing documentaries about our artists who are
- 10:09teaching people how to create art from waste and save
- 10:15our planet by learning peaceful ways. Come up to me
- 10:19and Andreas, and we'll tell you more. And you can
- 10:23see Andreas in comedy clubs in New York City. Ask him,
- 10:26he'll tell you where his next gig is. Thank you, everyone.
- 10:30Speaker 8: Peace!
- 10:34Speaker 1: Okay, thank you very much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 10:37Kiana Foundation, and thank you, Andreas. And we can't get.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Tennis balls out here. You hit somebody. Kiana, come on here, Dr. Lakeisha.
- 10:49Speaker 9: Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
- 10:51Speaker 8: I'm Dr.
- 10:51Speaker 9: Lakeisha. I'm here representing the Kiana Foundation. September is Childhood
- 10:57Cancer Awareness Month. People think that childhood cancer is rare,
- 11:02but it's not. We have about 46 children that are
- 11:05diagnosed with cancer every single day. The Kiana Foundation actually
- 11:12does novel botanical drug discovery, cancer research, looking for less
- 11:18toxic treatment options for children and adults that are diagnosed
- 11:23with cancer. But this month, we want to honor one
- 11:26of our children that we have provided advocacy services for.
- 11:31And I want to introduce our executive director, Andre Jenkins.
- 11:36and Dream Jefferson and his mother, Ashley.
- 11:44Speaker 10: I just want to thank the city of New York
- 11:46for coming out for International Day of Peace.
- 11:49Speaker 3: All right.
- 11:51Speaker 10: Thank you, Paul Slackus, for putting this event together. My
- 11:54name is Andre Jenkins. I'm the executive director of the
- 11:56Kiana Foundation. We're a 501c3 nonprofit based here in New
- 12:00York City. I'm going to talk real quick about the
- 12:03Gold Ribbon Tech Initiative. The Gold Ribbon Tech Initiative, we
- 12:06take your gently used or old technology, we refurbish it
- 12:11or sell it, and we place it with a family,
- 12:14which is what we're doing today. So today we're going
- 12:16to offer Dream Jefferson an iMac for beating his cancer.
- 12:22How long have you been cancer-free?
- 12:24Speaker 11: Only for like four months so far.
- 12:27Speaker 10: He's been four months cancer-free, everyone. Give it up for Dream. Yeah,
- 12:33we're the dream team up here, everybody.
- 12:38Speaker 12: Thank you all.
- 12:39Speaker 9: And if you want to support the Kiana Foundation, you
- 12:41can see our logos there. Find us at kianafoundation.org or
- 12:47text the word Kiana, K-I-O-N-A, to 53555. Thank you for
- 12:52your support.
- 12:54Speaker 8: Thank you, guys.
- 13:04Speaker 1: All right, I love these people. A big hand for them.
- 13:06All they do is good things. All they do is
- 13:08help young people. Thank you, Andreas, again. Okay, Doug Harden.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Yes, sir. 41, yeah. No, you're not 41. Okay. You
- 13:20ready to go? Let's hear some music. 41, hit it.
- 13:25Before you play, how's everybody doing?
- 13:29Speaker 13: Welcome to the United Nations International Day of Peace 2026.
- 13:34So before the music starts, I want to ask a question.
- 13:37Speaker 14: What about yesterday? What about the seas? The heavens are
- 13:46falling down. I can't even breathe. What about children dying?
- 13:56Speaker 3: Can't you hear them cry? Where did we go wrong?
- 14:03Speaker 13: Someone tell me why. What about us? What about us, y'all?
- 14:11What about us? I'm ready to go. So as we
- 14:15talk about what about us, I want to talk about love.
- 14:18And I got a love song. I want to just
- 14:20bring it all together and what I'm doing.
- 14:22Speaker 3: So let's hit the track.
- 14:31Speaker 8: When you wake.
- 14:37Speaker 15: Up in the morning The first thing that you should
- 14:46do is Reach for me baby Cause I'm right.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Here for you, girl, come on, yeah, yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 15: Sugar, honey, you.
- 15:03Speaker 8: Mean so much to me. Oh yes, you do, girl.
- 15:11Speaker 3: You are the only one for me.
- 15:14Speaker 16: I'm committed to you baby.
- 15:16Speaker 8: The seductiveness in your smile And the sweet tenderness of your.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Touch and your caress.
- 15:41Speaker 15: It makes all this love worthwhile. And I never want
- 15:49to give you up.
- 15:52Speaker 3: No, no, no, no.
- 15:54Speaker 11: Sugar, honey, you mean so much to me.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Oh, yes, you do, girl.
- 16:01Speaker 1: You truly are the only one.
- 16:05Speaker 3: You are the only one for me.
- 16:08Speaker 17: Sugar, honey.
- 16:12Speaker 13: I'm committed to you, baby.
- 16:15Speaker 15: Oh, baby, when I'm with you, it's right.
- 16:20Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 16:21Speaker 15: Everything, everything you want is mine.
- 16:24Speaker 8: Hey.
- 16:40Speaker 16: Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, baby.
- 16:49Speaker 13: How y'all doing?
- 16:52Speaker 3: Oh, yes, you do, girl.
- 16:55Speaker 16: Oh, yeah. You are the only one for me.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Wow.
- 17:04Speaker 16: I'm committed to you, baby. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, baby, yeah. Oh, yes,
- 17:17you are.
- 17:18Speaker 8: Yes, you are. You are the only one for me.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Wow.
- 17:21Speaker 8: I'm committed to you, baby.
- 17:23Speaker 16: Yeah. Oh, no, no, no, yeah. Oh, oh, oh, baby, yeah, yeah. Background,
- 17:46help me sing it.
- 17:47Speaker 3: You're the only one.
- 17:49Speaker 16: You're the only one. You're the only one.
- 17:53Speaker 8: You're the only one.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 18:18Speaker 1: All right, Doug, Doug, Doug, Doug. He moved up from Florida,
- 18:31moved into New York, all because of this. So a
- 18:34lot of good things. Uh-oh, there's some really serious, uh-oh.
- 18:37I see a little Narciso. I see Michelle's daughter and
- 18:42her friend. I see some good things gonna happen here soon, right?
- 18:47You know, Michelle, you're gonna have to soon come up
- 18:49here and tell us what's gonna happen here soon, okay?
- 18:52Because we have a whole other show happening just a little,
- 18:56little late, but unbelievable, a miracle-y, a miracle. A miracle's happened.
- 19:01All right, Kyle Fernandez coming in from Chicago. This guy's
- 19:06actually a classical musician as well. He's a good guy.
- 19:11He's a good friend of a good friend. And he said,
- 19:16you're a good guy.
- 19:18Speaker 3: All righty.
- 19:19Speaker 1: So Kyle Fernandez, you're going to need probably one of
- 19:22those kind of mics, right?
- 19:24Speaker 3: To play the guitar? We're getting this all set here.
- 19:35Speaker 5: All right.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Okay, I don't know where it's plugged in, but okay.

- 20:17song about hope.
- 20:20Speaker 19: Working overtime You change your hours for a handful of
- 20:25dimes Go out and buy yourself a bottle of wine
- 20:31Then waste away.
- 20:34Speaker 12: Again But I don't mind Cause I've got beaches inside
- 20:44my head Should have died a long time ago But
- 20:51I've got beaches.
- 20:52Speaker 8: In my head.
- 21:02Speaker 17: Slaving away You scrub the toilets for the minimum wage
- 21:10You find your future's at the bottom of a bottle As.
- 21:14Speaker 20: You waste away.
- 21:16Speaker 17: Again You're 26 years old You grew so fast but
- 21:25you've got nothing to show You find your future's at
- 21:30the bottom of a bottle As you waste away again.
- 21:36Speaker 12: No, no, don't waste it But I don't mind.
- 21:41Speaker 21: Cause I've got beaches inside my head Should have died
- 21:48a long time ago But I've got beaches in.
- 21:52Speaker 8: My head.
- 21:57Speaker 22: No, I won't cry. Cause I've got beaches inside my head.
- 22:04Should have died a long time ago. But I've got
- 22:09beaches in my head.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Yes, I've got beaches in my head.
- 22:17Speaker 21: Yes, I've got beaches in my head.
- 22:21Speaker 17: Yes, I've got beaches.
- 22:31Speaker 23: Thank you so much, everyone. This next song's about second chances.

- 23:39broken glass I can't forget about that That the world
- 23:44keeps spinning.
- 23:45Speaker 24: Round And our time is running.
- 23:54Speaker 25: Out Life's all contrary Extraordinary, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
- 24:17Speaker 17: Now our time is drawing thin Don't know just where
- 24:21to begin.
- 24:22Speaker 20: To solve the riddle, spin the rhyme On how your
- 24:26life could be sublime Now my friends have grown so
- 24:30old And their hearts have grown so cold Please don't lose.
- 24:34Speaker 26: That lust for life And don't forget about.
- 24:38Speaker 17: That That the world keeps spinning.
- 24:41Speaker 24: Round And our time is running.
- 24:50Speaker 17: Out Life's all contrary.

- 32:08broadcast on Good News Broadcast on YouTube. It'll be on pausetheworldforpeace.org.
- 32:15It'll be on wedonthavetime.org starting at 12 noon and then

- 32:29started here in 1989 with Richie Havens, and it's called
- 32:33Woodstock Forever, Peace, Love, and Hope. We start off here
- 32:36with Richie Havens. We bought the first only board on
- 32:40the one-time square building where the ball drops, and the
- 32:44movie goes, it's a two-hour documentary I've been working working
- 32:48on it since 1989, and we're gonna share it with
- 32:52the world. Dionne Warwick is our host for the love
- 32:55section of it. I have Lady Gaga in it, I
- 32:58have Taylor Swift singing a song called 17. We have
- 33:02all kinds of phenomenally stupendous, we have Nickelodeon shows, I
- 33:06do it with my grandkids, and it's just very special,
- 33:12not for us, but for you, so it's called Woodstock Forever, Peace, Love,
- 33:18and Hope, because that's what Woodstock represented, peace, love, and hope, okay?
- 33:22And you'll hear that, it wasn't, I'll say it, only sex, drugs,
- 33:26and rock and roll. It was also peace, love, and hope, okay?
- 33:31And we brought down Jumla, Jimi Hendrix drummer, and you'll
- 33:35hear from all these people how the spirit of peace,
- 33:39the spirit of Mother Nature, that was a Mother Nature show, environmental,
- 33:44and we're so happy you're here. Thank you very much.

- 38:21so alive. You make me feel so alive.
- 38:26Speaker 8: It's you.
- 38:30Speaker 3: I just don't.
- 38:31Speaker 11: Know where to start I don't have much to say,
- 38:53but please just listen.
- 38:54Speaker 26: I'm afraid my thoughts might fade away.
- 38:56Speaker 8: I made a romance novel all up in my little head.
- 38:59Speaker 27: Not even Shakespeare could describe what.
- 39:02Speaker 8: I'm feeling today. I wonder if it could take just
- 39:33a little bit of your time.
- 39:35Speaker 11: I'm searching all around the.
- 39:37Speaker 8: House to see if I'm to find. I really hope
- 39:40that you can see.
- 39:41Speaker 11: What I'm feeling inside. And give me all your love so.
- 39:45Speaker 8: You can steal this heart of mine. You swept my feet.
- 39:49Speaker 11: Away like an earth plane, breaking the waves.
- 39:52Speaker 8: You swept me.
- 40:29Speaker 11: I want to play this melody again I want to
- 40:33listen to what you have to say.
- 40:36Speaker 8: And if you say that.
- 40:37Speaker 11: Love is ready to play Let's play over again Yeah Yeah.
- 40:56Speaker 8: You swept my feet away Like an earthquake breaking away
- 40:58You swept me away.
- 40:59Speaker 11: Just call me And leave it all behind Just kiss
- 41:01me Just kiss me one more.
- 41:02Speaker 27: Time Namaste, New York City. The light in me sees
- 42:04the light in all of you. I am your host,
- 42:09Yogini Jema. And this begins, Om's Peace Starts Within. OM
- 42:17is an invitation to remember who you are. And in
- 42:23that remembering, to recognize the interconnectedness of all things. Today,
- 42:31as we honor the United Nations International Day of Peace,
- 42:35we gather around one of humanity's greatest possibilities, peace. Peace
- 42:42within ourselves, between people, within our communities, and peace with
- 42:48Mother Earth. As leaders from around the world gather here
- 42:53in New York for the United Nations General Assembly, conversations
- 42:57will take place about our shared future. And here in
- 43:02Times Square, Om brings another question into that global conversation.
- 43:08What is the consciousness from which we create that future?
- 43:13Because behind every decision that shapes our world, there is
- 43:16a human being. And the world we create together is
- 43:20inseparable from the state from which we meet it. This
- 43:25is why our message today is simple. Peace starts within.
- 43:30And over the next two and a half hours, we
- 43:33are going to explore what that truly means through ancient
- 43:37wisdom and modern science, through voices working within our global
- 43:43institutions and organizations creating new ways for us to gather
- 43:48across the world in greater connection and shared intention. We
- 43:53will experience the power of art and creativity and be
- 43:59inspired by places consciously choosing peace as a way forward.
- 44:05And we'll discover how even the way we play can
- 44:09be in greater harmony with Mother Earth and throughout it all, music.
- 44:16At OM, we honor the extraordinary power of music to
- 44:21bring us together, to move us beyond words and into
- 44:25a shared experience. Because today, we don't simply want to
- 44:30talk about peace. We're here to experience it. At the
- 44:35heart of OM is a growing collective we call OMbassadors.
- 44:39people from many different walks of life who have said
- 44:43yes to this invitation to remember and who are bringing
- 44:46that remembrance into the way they live and the work
- 44:50that they offer to the world. The remarkable human beings
- 44:54you will meet today on this stage are part of
- 44:57this growing community, each bringing their own unique expression of
- 45:01how we can live, create, embody peace.
- 45:06Speaker 25: In the world.
- 45:07Speaker 27: And in each of them, is a reminder that every
- 45:11one of us has a part to play. Peace can
- 45:15be expressed in so many different ways. And when those
- 45:19individual expressions come together, peace becomes collective. Imagine the world
- 45:26we can create when peace is the consciousness from which
- 45:31we meet one another, make our choices, and shape our future.
- 45:37That is where peace starts within become something greater than ourselves.
- 45:43And so here, in Times Square, let us begin by
- 45:48experiencing it right here and now. I invite all of you,
- 45:56wherever you are, to come into stillness. Whether you're standing
- 46:03or whether you're sitting, let the body settle into stillness
- 46:11And for just two minutes, gently close the eyes. For
- 46:21a moment, for a moment, just take in all the
- 46:26sounds of the environment, the horns, the voices, the music,
- 46:35the chatter, the movement, spend a moment and just become
- 46:42familiar with each sound. And now bring your awareness to
- 46:52the whole body. Try to see within the mind the
- 46:58whole body. In one glimpse, in one flash, try and
- 47:05see the whole body within the mind. And now bring
- 47:13your awareness to the natural breath. Go deep, deep inside
- 47:22of yourself as you follow the natural breath. As you inhale,
- 47:31feel the natural expansion of the body. As you exhale,
- 47:39feel the contraction and release. Inhaling the body expands. Exhaling
- 47:52the body releases and relaxes. Feel this natural expansion and
- 48:04relaxation with every breath. And now become aware of this
- 48:19shift into relaxation within the body. Feel the heartbeat. It
- 48:27is slower. Feel the breath. It is deeper. Become aware
- 48:39of the mind. It is more still. Feel the state
- 48:46of calm and peace within. Even here, in the middle
- 48:56of all of this movement and all of this noise,
- 49:02we just met together at a place of peace within.
- 49:06And if we can do this here, we can do
- 49:13it anywhere. Gently open the eyes.
- 49:20Speaker 20: Eyes.
- 49:24Speaker 27: And from this place of peace, I invite all of
- 49:28us to receive the wisdom of the old ways. It
- 49:33is my honor to welcome spiritual leader and wisdom keeper,
- 49:39Lex St. Onge, who is here to bless this gathering
- 49:45with a prayer and song of peace. Haku muhu.
- 50:19Speaker 23: Say now.
- 50:28Speaker 18: Yeah, you want one further in?
- 50:30Speaker 11: That's good.
- 50:31Speaker 27: This distance.
- 50:31Speaker 16: Is that good?
- 50:35Speaker 8: A bit closer.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Right here, down low. First, that one might. Are you
- 50:42singing or are you playing?
- 50:44Speaker 10: I'm singing.
- 50:44Speaker 29: But usually I have to.
- 50:46Speaker 27: You can have to. You can have to.
- 50:47Speaker 1: We've got to.
- 50:48Speaker 6: Do we?
- 50:49Speaker 5: Yes.
- 50:49Speaker 30: This is for the voice, though.
- 50:50Speaker 25: Okay.
- 50:51Speaker 13: So put that up here.
- 50:52Speaker 1: I'll kind of turn this.
- 51:10Speaker 2: Way a little bit.
- 51:11Speaker 5: All right.
- 51:11Speaker 8: Hello, everybody. Hope you can hear me.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Can you hear me? Yes, we're good. As a spiritual
- 51:18leader in a native tribe.
- 51:19Speaker 26: Can you.
- 51:30Speaker 11: Hear me?
- 51:31Speaker 5: No.
- 51:37Speaker 2>
- 51:41Speaker 2>
- 51:42Speaker 25: Want me to leave?
- 51:45Speaker 3: What's that? Check, check, check, check, check, check.
- 51:49Speaker 4: One, two, one, two, one, two.
- 51:54Speaker 20: Hello?
- 51:55Speaker 3: There it goes.
- 51:56Speaker 2: All right, we got it. We got it, we're good.
- 52:00So when we're speaking to crowds from a Native American aspect, yeah, get.
- 52:08Speaker 3: That one out of there, I guess.
- 52:10Speaker 8: Okay.
- 52:12Speaker 2: We talk about our life way and how we push
- 52:15through the world in body. Our bodies show the eyes, ears, nose, hands,
- 52:21feet of our grandmothers and grandfathers before us. They were
- 52:25successful people or you wouldn't be here right now. I'd
- 52:29be talking to somebody else. So I honor you each
- 52:33and everyone individually. I honor your ancestors for being powerful
- 52:37enough to get you here all this way. And if
- 52:40you're ever feeling lonely or down, look in the mirror
- 52:43at your face because it's really not yours. It's a
- 52:46composite of all those who came before you. Those grandmothers
- 52:50and grandfathers that pushed through time that allowed you to
- 52:53be here. Take your strength from knowing that they ran
- 52:57from dire wolf, packs, saber tooth tigers, elephants, everything they
- 53:03had to do to get their children safe through the
- 53:06long nights of winter, food for the year. healthy, protected
- 53:12from other people that may have done them harm. Every
- 53:16one of you is an amazing success story.
- 53:20Speaker 8: Amazing.
- 53:21Speaker 2: So when I look at each of you or I
- 53:23meet you on the street or I see you, I
- 53:26see all those ancestors behind you. And they all tell
- 53:30me the same thing. Remind them who they are, how
- 53:34powerful they are, and how we're with them always. As
- 53:39a scientist, sometimes I'll swab someone's cheek and send their
- 53:43DNA away because the smallest piece of them has the
- 53:47maps of all the places their ancestors have ever been.
- 53:51And you're made up of billions of these maps. So
- 53:54how powerful are you? I don't like weakness. I don't
- 53:59like people saying, oh, feel sorry for me. I'm sad
- 54:02on this and that. You're so lucky to be embodied.
- 54:06And you only are here for such a small amount
- 54:08of time. So represent those grandmothers and grandfathers' faces that
- 54:14you see in the mirror. I love you all. I
- 54:18love New York.
- 54:19Speaker 3: This is amazing.
- 54:20Speaker 2: I come from the forest. I haven't been here since 1988.
- 54:23I've been in the forest since then. So it's a
- 54:28different kind of forest. And there's a different kind of
- 54:31animal people here.
- 54:33Speaker 3: But I feel you.
- 54:35Speaker 2: I feel every one of you. What we breathe out
- 54:38is carbon dioxide. That's what the plants and forests breathe in.
- 54:42What they breathe out is oxygen. That's what we breathe in.
- 54:45Without us, the forest dies. Without the forest, we die.
- 54:50So how connected are we to this world? I'm going
- 54:53to share with you a musical instrument I made 30
- 54:57years ago called a wand sock. It's made out of
- 54:59an elderberry tree and it just has some designs on
- 55:03it that made me happy. I've used it forever and
- 55:07A lot of the elders that I played with at
- 55:09Shrine Science are gone, but I'm here, and they told me,
- 55:13take it to the people. I'm going to play an
- 55:16old instrument, very old, and I'm going to sing a
- 55:19couple of very old songs. So thank you for being
- 55:23here with me and passing through time together.
- 55:26Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 56:00Speaker 31: Ayahna, ayahna, halanaha, amimano te heyo e, amimemo te heyo e, ayahna, ayahna, halanaha,
- 56:24amimano te heyo e, I mean.
- 56:30Speaker 3: Hey, yo, hey, yo, hey, yo.
- 56:51Speaker 6: Ayah nah, ayah nah, la nah ha.
- 56:59Speaker 31: Amim anote heyo wey. Amim emote heyo wey.
- 57:09Speaker 6: Ayah nah, ayah nah, la nah ha.
- 57:16Speaker 13: Hey.
- 57:21Speaker 2: The next song I'm going to sing you is, there
- 57:23was a woman who lived on San Nicolas Island and
- 57:27she was the last one of her people. They call
- 57:30her the lone woman of San Nicolas Island. She was
- 57:33picked up by Spain and brought to the mainland and
- 57:37she had an island fox pet and they left her
- 57:42pet on the island and they took her and the
- 57:45food wasn't very good and she died. While she was
- 57:49alive and on the trip over, she spoke to an
- 57:52old man named Kitsa Powet.
- 57:55Speaker 3: And she sang a song to him. And this is
- 57:58her song.
- 57:59Speaker 30: Toki toki ya hame mana.
- 58:06Speaker 31: Toki toki.
- 58:09Speaker 30: Toki toki ya hame mana. Toki toki ya hame mana.
- 58:18Speaker 29: Welechima. Welechima. Welechima.
- 58:32Speaker 30: Toki, toki, aha, mimena. Toki, toki, aha, mimena. Welechima. Welechima.
- 58:49This is all about peace day and I have.
- 58:58Speaker 2: A This is all about Peace Day, and I have
- 59:09a daughter in the Navy. And I love her very much, Annabella.
- 59:15And she's out there keeping us safe. She was stationed
- 59:20in the Middle East.
- 59:21Speaker 3: For a while.
- 59:23Speaker 2: And there's a song that I always think about when
- 59:26I think about her being away.
- 59:30Speaker 3: And it.
- 59:33Speaker 2: Goes, I'll be home for Christmas.
- 59:39Speaker 31: If only in my dreams.
- 59:45Speaker 3: I love you, Annabella. Thank you.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Thank you, everybody.
- 59:49Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 1:00:31Speaker 27: Thank you, Rex, for that beautiful offering.
