- 0:14Sean McAllister: In our new Vegas Revealed interview, he talks about his new show at the Venetian.
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: I have so much pent-up energy and excitement for this that I'm just ready to hit that stage.
- 0:25Dayna Roselli: It was great to catch up with Derek.
- 0:26Dayna Roselli: Well, also, new restaurants are coming, new shows announced, and Team USA gets the Gold Cup in soccer.
- 0:33Sean McAllister: Plus, our NHL team trades some really beloved players, and Vegas is pretty sad about it.
- 0:45Dayna Roselli: Spin the wheel.
- 0:50SPEAKER_03: Let's go to Vegas, baby.
- 0:52SPEAKER_03: Let's go tonight.
- 0:54SPEAKER_03: Let's go to Vegas.
- 0:56unknown: Let's stay up all night.
- 0:57Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 80, Sean McAllister here, along with Dana Roselli.
- 1:04Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, it feels like we're living in a time warp.
- 1:07Sean McAllister: We're and kind of going back in time and not in a positive way.
- 1:11Dayna Roselli: No, I know.
- 1:12Dayna Roselli: So many people are interested in knowing about this, and that's that masks are required for everyone indoors here in Las Vegas now.
- 1:19Dayna Roselli: And we're talking about public indoor places, which of course includes our resorts and casinos.
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: So masks required whether you're vaccinated or not.
- 1:28Sean McAllister: Yeah, and this is something that a lot of people weren't happy to hear because Las Vegas was just kind of moving full steam ahead, um, but ended up being one of the the hot spots for COVID transmission, unfortunately.
- 1:45Sean McAllister: And so, you know, when the CDC came out and said, you know, let's start to bring back masks for high transmission areas, Vegas was on the list.
- 1:56Dayna Roselli: Right, and we're seeing a lot of I told you so, you know, they expected with visitors coming in from all over the country and in some parts of the world that this might happen.
- 2:05Dayna Roselli: But yeah, so whether you're vaccinated or not, you have to put the mask back on, and it's you know causing a lot of, you know, back and forth, and obviously people who are vaccinated are a little disappointed that they have to put the mask back on, but we don't have social distancing or capacity limitations yet, I should say.
- 2:24Dayna Roselli: Uh so it's just the mask.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: People are still coming, they're still having fun.
- 2:28Dayna Roselli: I saw the traffic coming in last weekend on the highway.
- 2:31Dayna Roselli: It was still bumper to bumper.
- 2:33Sean McAllister: It sure was.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: So it doesn't seem like it's affecting too much, and most people, you know, just abiding by the rules.
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: Been to a couple different casinos in the last week and didn't seem to be a problem.
- 2:44Dayna Roselli: People had their masks on, and and that's that.
- 2:47Dayna Roselli: That's that's the rule now.
- 2:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, and one of our listeners, John Durandy, who has been in Las Vegas for the past week, we've been messaging back and forth with him, and he said, you know, it seems like from from what he's seen, people have been following the mask rules for the most part, and things seem to be fine.
- 3:04Sean McAllister: He said he was cool with it and still got to go and see everything he wanted to see, you know, eat where he wanted to eat, do what he wanted to do.
- 3:12Sean McAllister: So it's not really hindering people, right?
- 3:16Sean McAllister: But it it's just what you gotta do right now.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: It and listen, I'll be the first to say it is annoying.
- 3:21Dayna Roselli: It's hot outside, and the mask and walking indoors, and you know, for me, I just find I don't want to be out for long periods of time.
- 3:30Dayna Roselli: No, like with the mask on, it becomes a lot.
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: So it can be frustrating, and especially obviously if you're vaccinated like we are.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: You're right, it feels like a step back.
- 3:40Dayna Roselli: We had freedom.
- 3:41Dayna Roselli: I had to dig out my sparkly mask last night when I went out for an evening engagement.
- 3:46Sean McAllister: I had the same thing happen.
- 3:47Sean McAllister: I was driving somewhere yesterday, going out to dinner, actually.
- 3:52Sean McAllister: And as we were, you know, leaving, we left the neighborhood, driving down the road, and Shane, my husband, and I looked at each other, we're like, oh crap, do we have any masks in the car?
- 4:03Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 4:03Sean McAllister: And we didn't.
- 4:04Sean McAllister: We just got so used to not having them, we had to go back and dig into the bag and pull some out.
- 4:09Dayna Roselli: I know it's something that we have to get used to again.
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: We don't have to wear them outdoors.
- 4:14Dayna Roselli: Um, that's good because you know, obviously we've got the pools and everything like that at the resorts that um but it's some something that it is affecting, and and not everyone, because people have been asking us, what about shows?
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: Are they canceling?
- 4:29Dayna Roselli: And there haven't been a whole lot of shows that have canceled.
- 4:31Sean McAllister: No.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: But we do have a hypnotist in town, uh, Mark Savard, great guy, he's been on the strip performing over at uh the Miracle Mile shops there inside Planet Hollywood for years and years and years and years.
- 4:45Dayna Roselli: So he was happy to get back on stage, but now he sent out a tweet that you saw last week.
- 4:50Dayna Roselli: Um, it caught your eye anyway, saying that you know what?
- 4:54Dayna Roselli: I just it's really hard to do a comedy hypnosis show during mandatory mask mandates.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: He says people's facial reactions are everything in this type of show.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna go on pause again, I'll reopen the show when indoor mask mandates are lifted.
- 5:07Dayna Roselli: Safety is always our first priority.
- 5:09Dayna Roselli: So felt bad for Mark that he had to shut down again.
- 5:11Sean McAllister: I know.
- 5:12Sean McAllister: It's a shame to, you know, for our entertainers here in Las Vegas to just be on this roller coaster.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: Right.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: And when it looks like things are headed in in one direction, then it gets jerked back a little bit.
- 5:26Sean McAllister: Hopefully everyone can just wear a mask, do what we need to do to stamp this out.
- 5:32Sean McAllister: Uh but just on a totally unrelated note, Dana, you mentioned the Miracle Mile shops over at Planet Hollywood and something that just came out within the past few days.
- 5:42Sean McAllister: They are now charging to park.
- 5:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's a big deal because they never have.
- 5:47Sean McAllister: No.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: Ever.
- 5:48Sean McAllister: And that's a big garage, too.
- 5:50Dayna Roselli: And I think it's pretty pricey, like 12 bucks for four hours, up to four hours.
- 5:54Sean McAllister: I think you the first hour is free, but then the first, I think, four hours is twelve dollars, and I think twenty-four hours is fifteen dollars.
- 6:03Sean McAllister: So if you're gonna go and park there, you may as well just park there for twenty-four hours because it's not that much more.
- 6:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's not my favorite parking garage.
- 6:11Dayna Roselli: I must say it's a it's a bit of a cluster over there.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: So I don't know.
- 6:14Dayna Roselli: Maybe actually charging for parking might help a little.
- 6:17Dayna Roselli: True.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: Calm it down, because yeah, whenever I go there, I'm always like, uh boy, here we go.
- 6:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, so masks are back, parking is new at Miracle Mile shops.
- 6:27Dayna Roselli: All right, let's run right through the new shows, the new restaurants, all the big announcements this week because people like to keep up to date on those.
- 6:34Sean McAllister: Yeah, a big uh country announcement.
- 6:37Sean McAllister: Reba McIntyre, along with her buddies Brooks and Dunn, they've had a long-running show over at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace.
- 6:44Sean McAllister: They opened back in 2015, but they've just announced their final dates of their Together in Vegas residency.
- 6:52Sean McAllister: That is December 1st through the 15th.
- 6:55Sean McAllister: And I believe that coincides with the National Finals rodeo that brings a big country crowd into town.
- 7:01Sean McAllister: Uh so Reba, Brooks, and Dunn, their final shows coming up in December.
- 7:05Sean McAllister: Those tickets are on sale now.
- 7:07Dayna Roselli: And a big festival announced for the Las Vegas Festival grounds, and that, if you're not familiar, is right at Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara.
- 7:15Dayna Roselli: So it's north of the win and resorts world, but south of the stratosphere.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: Uh great area for festivals.
- 7:21Dayna Roselli: They announced this Lovers and Friends Festival there being put on by Live Nation, and the lineup, Sean, is insane.
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: And everyone picked up on that because literally they had one day scheduled and it sold out in an hour.
- 7:35Dayna Roselli: They've now had to add a second day, and we're talking about uh Saturday, May 14th, which is sold out, and now they've added Sunday, May 15th.
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: But let's get to this rundown.
- 7:45Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean, it seems like everybody is on this list.
- 7:48Sean McAllister: We have Lauren Hill, TLC, Sierra, Nellie, Brandy, Neo, who is from Las Vegas, Traysongs, Ja Rule, Timberland, Ashanti, Akon, T-Pain, Lil Kim, Eve.
- 8:03Sean McAllister: I feel like not mentioning some of these people is is gonna seem like they're lower on the billing, but these are all superstars.
- 8:13Sean McAllister: All good.
- 8:13Sean McAllister: Usher is also on the list, and of course, we know that he has the residency over at Caesar's Coliseum now, which I know that you're gonna be talking about a little in a little bit, Dana.
- 8:24Sean McAllister: You were able to just go.
- 8:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I I finally went, you had gone, and I actually got um to go to the Ush backstory pre-show party as well.
- 8:34Dayna Roselli: So I'll fill you in on that in just a little bit.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: But Lovers and Friends is this festival uh that was supposed to only be one day.
- 8:41Sean McAllister: It's in May of uh next year, 2022.
- 8:45Sean McAllister: Um, but they sold out the ticket so quick that they've added a second day to this festival.
- 8:51Dayna Roselli: They sure have.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: And tickets go on sale August 9th, and they expect them to go really quick.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: So I guess the folks that were on some list before get pushed over onto this pre-public sale.
- 9:03Dayna Roselli: And then if there's still tickets left after that, they'll open them up to the public.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: So they'll probably go quick.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: If you're interested, I would definitely um hop on there.
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: Depends when you're listening to the podcast.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: If it's over the weekend, then you still have a chance.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: But if it's after August 9th, I have a feeling the tickets might be gone already.
- 9:19Dayna Roselli: If not, you know, hop over to their website and check it out.
- 9:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, Lovers and Friends, the world's largest RB and hip-hop festival.
- 9:27Sean McAllister: So it it it's no wonder that it has such a great lineup.
- 9:31Sean McAllister: But Dana, there's also boy band news.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: We there's been a lot of boy band news lately.
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 9:36Dayna Roselli: And now 98 Degrees is hopping on board.
- 9:38Dayna Roselli: They are gonna be performing over at Mandalay Bay Beach.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: That was just announced last week.
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: So, you know, Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, and then Las Vegas' own Jeff Timmins, and also Justin Jeffrey are all coming back and hitting the stage, was watching some TikToks of them doing some dance rehearsal, so it's funny to see them back at it.
- 9:59Dayna Roselli: But uh, they're great, you know, have some major hit songs, and and we know Jeff Timmins personally from interviewing him many, many times through the years.
- 10:06Dayna Roselli: Great guy, yeah.
- 10:07Sean McAllister: Uh, Illuminate is a new show that's also coming to Las Vegas.
- 10:12Sean McAllister: Um, you may know this group from America's Got Talent.
- 10:16Sean McAllister: It's a dance troupe, dance and performance troupe, um, but they kind of perform in the dark, and they have these suits that light them up and they kind of look like uh neon characters.
- 10:28Sean McAllister: It looks like they're outlined in neon and they're up on this dark stage doing these crazy performance things.
- 10:36Sean McAllister: It looks like they're flying through the air, but it's an illusion with the way that they use their their costumes, and it's really an innovative and cool show.
- 10:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and they were supposed to be over, I think, at Planet Hollywood, but then COVID hit, and so now they have signed a deal with the Strat, and they'll be over there.
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: Congratulations to ILuminate.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: Can't wait to see that show.
- 10:56Dayna Roselli: Also, a big congratulations to the Australian Bee Gees.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: They celebrated their 3000th performance on the Las Vegas strip.
- 11:04Dayna Roselli: Great show.
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: It's a tribute show to the Bee Gees.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: Uh, they sound just like them.
- 11:10Dayna Roselli: Literally.
- 11:10Dayna Roselli: I remember them being in the studio a few times when I worked over at the TV station.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: And if you heard it in the other room, you're like, who's playing the Bee Geees album?
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: And you're like, wait, no, it's the Australian Bee Gees.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: Ha ha! Ha ha ha ha.
- 11:23Dayna Roselli: Stay in a la.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: Stay in a la.
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: Oh, so good.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: Listen, congratulations to them.
- 11:28Dayna Roselli: Uh, go see them at the Xcaliber.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: They are there and doing doing their best to keep things going even during this whole mask situation.
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:38Sean McAllister: And you know, we talk a lot here on the podcast, at least over the past several episodes, about station casinos.
- 11:44Sean McAllister: And this is the group of casinos that's you know locally owned, a local family here in Las Vegas, started it up.
- 11:50Sean McAllister: They have several off-strip uh casino properties.
- 11:54Sean McAllister: One of them is Sunset Station over in Henderson, and that has a great amphitheater that just opened up for shows again.
- 12:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I went to see Country Star Justin Moore perform there.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: First of all, I love the outdoor, grassy, you know, it's got it's got seats, but then it halls also has areas where people just had a blanket out, and then they have lots of different yeah, like food trucks and and you could grab a beer.
- 12:17Dayna Roselli: It was a really, really nice night, and Justin Moore was super excited to be on stage in Las Vegas.
- 12:26Dayna Roselli: It's, you know, as he says, it's been a while.
- 12:28Sean McAllister: Good to see you guys.
- 12:30Sean McAllister: It's been too long.
- 12:31Sean McAllister: What y'all been doing the last couple of years, man?
- 12:34Dayna Roselli: Great show, and they have more booked at the amphitheater coming up.
- 12:37Dayna Roselli: They have Trace Atkins on August 14th.
- 12:40Sean McAllister: Trace is great on stage.
- 12:41Sean McAllister: He's a great performer.
- 12:42Sean McAllister: Isn't he hunky tunk bedonka donk?
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 12:45Sean McAllister: I think he is.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: But I like that song.
- 12:49Sean McAllister: Lots of badonka donks going on at the amphitheater.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: All right, and a Chris Angel update.
- 12:55Dayna Roselli: Just want to mention, we've been talking a lot about his restaurant because Sean and I went up there and then we said it was going to open, and then we said that it was delayed a little bit.
- 13:02Dayna Roselli: He did have a huge opening.
- 13:04Dayna Roselli: He was there, great turnout.
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: Um, we're talking about the restaurant that he opened up in Overton, Nevada.
- 13:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's called Kablip, Chris Angel Breakfast Lunch Pizza.
- 13:15Sean McAllister: And um Chris has had to kind of scale operations down uh pretty much to a close uh because there has just been so much demand.
- 13:26Sean McAllister: He has said that uh they've been running out of food, and because of the demand, it's been so busy that he needs to get his staff better prepared to deal with all the crowds that have been coming out there.
- 13:38Sean McAllister: So at least for the next couple weeks, it's gonna be closed for business while all sorts of training and stocking happens.
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he said it'll reopen again at some point in August.
- 13:50Dayna Roselli: So, um, but listen, congratulations on the overwhelming response because you know, part of that is in raising funds for childhood cancer.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: So we support that, and obviously the people of Overton are excited to have a cool new spot where they can eat, they can get some Italian ice, they can get some coffee, they can see some magic in the back room.
- 14:12Dayna Roselli: So congratulations to Chris Angel.
- 14:14Dayna Roselli: And again, be patient, everyone.
- 14:17Dayna Roselli: It will reopen.
- 14:18Dayna Roselli: Speaking of restaurants, this is somewhat similar.
- 14:21Dayna Roselli: We're talking a new lounge by Lisa Vanderpump.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: She has a successful lounge over at Caesars Palace, and now she has announced that she's opening a new one at the Paris Las Vegas.
- 14:31Sean McAllister: Yeah, so a lot of people know Lisa Vanderpump because she was one of the Beverly Hills Housewives on the hit Bravo series, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
- 14:43Sean McAllister: On that show, you see that Lisa opens up bars and restaurants.
- 14:48Sean McAllister: She and her husband have opened up a ton of them in uh West Hollywood and around Los Angeles.
- 14:54Sean McAllister: Then a few years ago, they opened up Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace.
- 15:01Sean McAllister: And let me tell you, people go crazy for that place.
- 15:05Dayna Roselli: Always packed.
- 15:06Dayna Roselli: There's a line outside every time I walk by.
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: I just walked by to go see Usher last night, and there it was packed.
- 15:11Sean McAllister: I was over there uh uh a couple weeks ago, and it was before the doors opened to the restaurant lounge, and and the line was uh already full of people just waiting to get in.
- 15:23Sean McAllister: It wasn't even like the doors were open for a while and you know they were waiting for tables to clear out.
- 15:28Sean McAllister: This was just a a line of people waiting for the doors to open.
- 15:32Sean McAllister: So there's obviously huge demand for Lisa Vanderpump in Las Vegas.
- 15:37Dayna Roselli: And she's not dumb, she's gonna open another one now over at the Paris, and it's called Vanderpump.
- 15:42Dayna Roselli: I don't know my French very well.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: Ah Paris A Paris.
- 15:46Sean McAllister: Oh, see, I would just say Vanderpump a Paris.
- 15:49Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 15:49Sean McAllister: The ah I think it means Vanderpump at Paris, probably.
- 15:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:53Sean McAllister: I took Spanish.
- 15:55Dayna Roselli: Me too.
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: Three years of it.
- 15:57Dayna Roselli: Uh but yeah, she's gonna she's gonna open that.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: It's gonna open sometime this winter.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: People were asking where it is going to be located, and it's kind of next to the check-in lobby desk.
- 16:07Dayna Roselli: So um if you're interested, you'll see it right when you walk through the main doors, you'll bend to the right, and it'll be down there.
- 16:14Dayna Roselli: I think right at the beginning of the kind of walkway of shops and restaurants.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: Yeah, and Lisa Vanderpump used to live in Paris, so she's committed to making this a truly authentic uh Parisian experience.
- 16:28Sean McAllister: As soon as you walk in the doors, they've partnered with a furniture maker to have their own custom furniture and light fixtures, all that stuff, and of course great cocktails and ambiance as well.
- 16:38Sean McAllister: So uh Vanderpump A Paris opening at Paris, Las Vegas this winter.
- 16:45Dayna Roselli: And a couple restaurant mentions too, Venetian wrote us and said, Hey, we've got this amazing announcement, uh, Japanese dining concept called Wakuda.
- 16:55Dayna Roselli: Hopefully, I'm saying that right as well.
- 16:57Dayna Roselli: It's by Chef Tetsuya Wakuda.
- 17:00Dayna Roselli: Apparently, this is opening in the spring of 2022, and I guess it's a game changer uh when it comes to Japanese restaurants.
- 17:09Dayna Roselli: It's the first high-end purely Japanese restaurant that'll be located at the Venetian.
- 17:15Sean McAllister: Because a lot of the uh there's been a lot of Asian fusion in the restaurants that we've seen popping up.
- 17:20Sean McAllister: So um I'm excited.
- 17:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, I'm excited to see you know how authentic the experience is going to be.
- 17:27Sean McAllister: Like, do you take your shoes off and sit at the the like a Tepanyaki table and hopefully, because we're always up for something new, right?
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I love that.
- 17:37Sean McAllister: I love Japanese cuisine anyway.
- 17:39Dayna Roselli: Me too.
- 17:40Dayna Roselli: It's so good, really.
- 17:42Dayna Roselli: Um another restaurant that's gonna be opening at Caesars at the forum shops is RPM Italian.
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: And this is by Juliana and Bill Rancig.
- 17:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, Juliana uh was a host on the e News network for years, and of course, you know, always a fixture on the red carpet at the Oscars.
- 18:02Sean McAllister: Her husband, Bill Ranc, a businessman who was on uh The Apprentice uh back in the day, I believe he actually won.
- 18:10Dayna Roselli: I think so.
- 18:11Sean McAllister: And they've developed uh restaurants in Chicago, and now that is coming here to Las Vegas.
- 18:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and when I did send out a tweet about it, everyone was responding super excited about this one because they're like the one in Chicago is amazing.
- 18:24Sean McAllister: Yeah, people love it, they go crazy for it.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: So, and apparently it's the the partners of it's called Let Us Entertain You Restaurant, and it's uh RJ, Jared, and Molly Melman, and then the celebrity couple Juliana and Bill Rancic.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: So it's a big team.
- 18:37Dayna Roselli: They have a bunch of different restaurants uh in Washington, DC, a seafood restaurant, and and Let Us Entertain You also has a bunch of restaurants in uh Las Vegas as well, including Mona Miga B.
- 18:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think this restaurant is gonna hit it out of the park over there at the forum shops.
- 18:53Sean McAllister: And switching from food to sports, we've had a lot going on here, Dana, including a world-class soccer match.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, this was huge.
- 19:03Dayna Roselli: Kind of for me, popped up out of nowhere.
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: I just started seeing stuff about it like two days before the big match, which was uh going to be held at Allegiant Stadium, which was held at Allegiant Stadium, uh Mexico versus USA.
- 19:15Dayna Roselli: Uh that day I went shopping on the strip, and it was like every light there were people waving Mexico flags in my face and beeping their horns.
- 19:24Dayna Roselli: They were there, I saw people at Aria dressed in the lobby in full gear.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: I mean, people came out and droves for this match for the gold cup.
- 19:32Sean McAllister: For the gold cup, yeah.
- 19:33Sean McAllister: And I think there ended up being over 61,000 people inside Allegiant Stadium for this matchup.
- 19:42Sean McAllister: The United States won one to nothing over Mexico.
- 19:46Sean McAllister: Um, and of course, they had to party down on the strip to celebrate.
- 19:50Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 19:50Dayna Roselli: They went over to Dre's nightclub, and some great pictures were sent over by the team there, and you can see they're holding their trophy, and everyone was excited for them.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: So we love it when folks win and then they celebrate in Las Vegas.
- 20:01Dayna Roselli: They happen to be in Las Vegas already.
- 20:03Dayna Roselli: A lot of times, though, teams will win someplace in the country and then they'll fly to Vegas and go out.
- 20:08Dayna Roselli: So this one they just had to roll on down the road.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: But congratulations.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: I did see a lot of chatter about the parking for the soccer game, and it was a lot of back and forth and frustration.
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: I think Allegiant Stadium is still working that out.
- 20:23Dayna Roselli: I did see someone comment though and say, you know, yes, it's mayhem, but I also tried to go to a game or something at a stadium in Florida, and it was the same thing.
- 20:34Dayna Roselli: Like maybe this is just what getting to a stadium is like, and we didn't have one before.
- 20:41Dayna Roselli: So we think it's a hot mess, but maybe this is just what you do.
- 20:45Dayna Roselli: You have to wait in line to park, you have to sit in traffic for a while.
- 20:48Dayna Roselli: I mean, I don't know.
- 20:49Sean McAllister: Well, I'm I think that is that is part of it.
- 20:53Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 20:53Sean McAllister: Because w at T-Mobile Arena, you know, that's what a lot of people are comparing the experience to.
- 20:59Sean McAllister: But it's three times more people over at Allegiance Stadium than what T-Mobile Arena can handle.
- 21:06Sean McAllister: True.
- 21:07Sean McAllister: And when you look at the crowds that are going to T-Mobile Arena, not everybody is driving there to attend a game or event.
- 21:15Sean McAllister: A lot of people are staying on the strip already and using other modes, whether they're walking or taking trams or whatever to get over there.
- 21:22Sean McAllister: Allegiant Stadium is largely commuter traffic getting into a kind of industrial area with a bunch of side streets, not a lot of parking.
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: So not easily walkable from the strip.
- 21:38Dayna Roselli: No.
- 21:39Dayna Roselli: So you can walk over that bridge, but it's not like in the heat, you know, the summer heat, it's a lot.
- 21:44Dayna Roselli: So it's something to I mean, this might be easier in the fall, maybe.
- 21:47Sean McAllister: In the fall, it'll be way easier.
- 21:49Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 21:49Sean McAllister: When it when the temperatures are cooler, that walk won't be nearly as daunting.
- 21:53Sean McAllister: But when it's a hundred plus degrees and up to one seventeen, uh walking a mile Is a lot, and I think it's more than a mile to even get from the rideshare parking lot to the stadium.
- 22:05Sean McAllister: So, you know, just to let our listeners know how far of a walk we're talking about from some of these remote parking lots.
- 22:14Sean McAllister: That by the way, you still have to pay between fifty and a hundred bucks to park at those lots.
- 22:19Sean McAllister: So understandably, there's frustration, still some kinks to work out.
- 22:24Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 22:24Dayna Roselli: Um, frustration as well when it comes to a couple trades for our NHL hockey team here in Las Vegas, the Golden Knights, the Vegas Golden Knights.
- 22:33Dayna Roselli: It's been a rough one for fans.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: You had to bring it up, Rosen.
- 22:36Dayna Roselli: I know, I know.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: And we won't get into huge, huge detail.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: We really just need to say two of our favorite players were traded.
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: Mark Andre Fleury, our goalie since the beginning and creation of the team.
- 22:50Dayna Roselli: Um, we call him Flower, and he was traded to Chicago, and it was kind of, I guess, unexpected, or something that no one wanted to ever really believe would happen.
- 23:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: So shocking, I guess.
- 23:03Dayna Roselli: And then apparently he found out on Twitter and didn't get the phone call before it was announced because people start talking and they hop online before anyone gets to make that phone call.
- 23:13Dayna Roselli: So a lot of people didn't like the way that it was handled.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, some people saying, hey, you know what, this is sports, get over it.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: Um, but yeah, he just won best best goalie in the NHL, and we're like, we don't want to give it up.
- 23:26Sean McAllister: I know.
- 23:27Sean McAllister: He really was a fixture, the the face of the team here in Las Vegas, and was always out in the community and such a great guy.
- 23:36Sean McAllister: Always stopped to chat with fans, and we are going to miss Marc-Andre Fleury.
- 23:42Sean McAllister: Chicago, our loss is definitely your game.
- 23:46Sean McAllister: Treat him well.
- 23:47Dayna Roselli: Yes, and they play the Golden Knights on January 8th.
- 23:50SPEAKER_05: So I gotta hop on and get those tickets because that's gonna be a good one, right?
- 23:55SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 23:55Sean McAllister: Also traded uh Ryan Reeves, who is, you know, the bad boy of the team, the enforcer.
- 24:01Sean McAllister: But uh he also really planted roots here in Las Vegas and uh worked with a brewing company to come up with his own line of beer here and craft beer.
- 24:12Sean McAllister: So Ryan Reeves, he was traded to the New York Rangers, but says he's not going to be a stranger, he's gonna be back.
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: I think he said he got a house to retire in here, so he'll be back.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: He's gonna retire here whenever that may be.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: He said the brewery's sticking, yep.
- 24:25Dayna Roselli: The beer's sticking.
- 24:26Dayna Roselli: And then, you know, uh Ryan Reeves is also the face of our uh Southern Nevada water district commercials that encourage people not to use a lot of water.
- 24:35Dayna Roselli: And what happens is like if you turn your sprinklers on for a long period of time in the commercial, Ryan Reeves will like show up and like get on you.
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, body check you and stuff.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: So it was so funny when he got traded.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: Um people were tweeting me back going, Well, I'm gonna go turn on my sprinklers, you know, and and and let it loose now.
- 24:53Sean McAllister: The enforcer's not here anymore.
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, yeah.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: But he's he's going to New York and he seems excited about it in the end and and good for you.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: We will miss you.
- 25:01Sean McAllister: Yes, we will.
- 25:02Sean McAllister: And you know, big changes for the team, but you know, again, it's one of those things that people from outside of Las Vegas are saying, listen, you guys are new to pro sports, and this is what happens.
- 25:15Sean McAllister: There's players you love, and ultimately they'll end up getting traded.
- 25:19Sean McAllister: Sports is sports.
- 25:21Dayna Roselli: And you know, for our next show that we do when we tell stories and funny Vegas related stories and nights that have wowed us, one would be when we were together and we partied with the Golden Knights.
- 25:33Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 25:34Sean McAllister: Remember that?
- 25:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, we'll have to save that.
- 25:36Sean McAllister: That's a good that's a good story.
- 25:37Dayna Roselli: It is a good story.
- 25:38Sean McAllister: That was a good night.
- 25:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and big shout out to everyone who loved last week's podcast.
- 25:43Dayna Roselli: We did a top 10 Vegas moments through the years, Sean and I.
- 25:46Dayna Roselli: And if you haven't listened, go back to episode 79.
- 25:49Dayna Roselli: People were loving the podcast saying they just enjoyed listening to our celebrity encounters and our random nights, and it was a good one.
- 25:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I'm uh actually surprised that the the night with the golden nights didn't make the list.
- 26:03Sean McAllister: But I guess that just means that we have to do another one of our top ten moments.
- 26:08Dayna Roselli: We sure do.
- 26:09Dayna Roselli: And somebody wrote us about one of the nights I had it with um Sophia Vergara and her family.
- 26:14Dayna Roselli: Oh, right.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: And I was like thinking, you know, I actually have some videos on my phone from that night, and she was like, post it, and I'm like, ah, we'll see.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: So I'll go back and but maybe we'll have video complimented stories next time.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: Oh, there we go.
- 26:26Dayna Roselli: Go back and try and find.
- 26:28Sean McAllister: I still have video of that golden nights night, too.
- 26:30Dayna Roselli: Oh, good, good.
- 26:31Dayna Roselli: Well we'll we'll do that for sure.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: I have a selfie that I posted when I was sad when Mark Audrey Fleury got traded.
- 26:37Dayna Roselli: But um, okay, let's talk to Eric Huff.
- 26:40Dayna Roselli: What a talent this guy is, right?
- 26:42Dayna Roselli: He is a dancer, a choreographer, he's Emmy nominated, Emmy winner.
- 26:47Dayna Roselli: I think he's been nominated for 11 Emmys total.
- 26:51Sean McAllister: Man, that's incredible.
- 26:52Sean McAllister: And he is just such an incredible talent.
- 26:55Sean McAllister: And I mean, you're listening up until this point on Vegas Revealed episode 80, and you're like, my gosh, they've already talked about so much.
- 27:03Sean McAllister: But no, wait, we still have Derek Huff to talk to.
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: We have Derek Huff and the folks from Potted Potter.
- 27:09Dayna Roselli: We've got a lot more coming up on the podcast.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: So listen, I was able to actually get a quick Zoom interview with Derek.
- 27:15Dayna Roselli: Great conversation.
- 27:17Dayna Roselli: I also wrote a story that will be in Deluxe Version magazine, which we focus on his career, also his love life.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: He's got some great tips on how to keep a relationship together.
- 27:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:27Dayna Roselli: What he likes to do on his off time.
- 27:30Dayna Roselli: Um, but we talked to him mostly about his Vegas show because he is really excited to be back on stage.
- 27:36Dayna Roselli: He's kicking off a show in September at the Venetian.
- 27:39Dayna Roselli: And what's cool, Sean, is that he was supposed to do the show before COVID hit.
- 27:43Dayna Roselli: And so, you know, just like everyone else, very frustrated that they had to cancel.
- 27:47Dayna Roselli: But he's back.
- 27:48SPEAKER_05: Derek, first of all, we're excited that you're coming back to Vegas because you were supposed to do a show that obviously got put on hold, but now it's it's coming back, and you seem really excited about it too.
- 27:59SPEAKER_05: I can tell.
- 28:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I cannot wait.
- 28:01SPEAKER_02: Um, I just I have so much pent-up energy and and excitement for this um that I I'm just ready to hit that stage.
- 28:07SPEAKER_02: You know, I've been working on the music, I'm getting it all together.
- 28:10SPEAKER_02: I have you know, my costume designers coming over tonight.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: We're we're designing the costumes.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: Um it's I'm so excited.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: I'm just so excited for this uh to be with people and the energy and just that shared experience.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: So it's gonna be uh it's gonna be an amazing show, and I I I'm really proud of it, and I just I can't wait for people to see it.
- 28:28SPEAKER_05: Well, and tell us a little bit about the show because I mean, you know, what people can expect.
- 28:32Dayna Roselli: So they go to the show, or you know, obviously we're gonna see you dancing, and what else are we gonna see?
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: I mean, I know you're planning on doing a few things.
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: You said it's gonna have other elements.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, I it the what makes it so great is that the all the different genres, right?
- 28:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I cover the gamut from like rock and roll, it's a big band music.
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I have like a Michael Booblay song in there, and he actually was kind enough to send me, you know, his stems for his band.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: So um, you know, it's gonna have so many different uh styles and so many different songs that I sing, um, primarily dancing.
- 29:04SPEAKER_02: It's just it's non-stop.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: It's a lot of energy and takes you on a journey.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: Um and there's something for everybody, you know, from like the passionate like tangos and the rumbas and to the pasta dobles into like Motown medleys into rock and roll into just there's everything.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: The one-liner is it's a rock concert for dance, you know.
- 29:24SPEAKER_02: It really is.
- 29:25SPEAKER_02: It's like it's that feeling where you want to get up and dance, you want to get up and move.
- 29:29SPEAKER_02: Um, but uh yeah, again, just and it just the music itself, like I can't wait for that.
- 29:34SPEAKER_02: I can't wait to feel and hear the music on stage because it just it's just it's just so big.
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: But all all all the dancers have been, you know, like hand-picked and have are all extraordinary.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: Um, and what they do is so talented, so athletic.
- 29:49SPEAKER_02: Um, and uh it's gonna be it's just gonna be an epic show.
- 29:53SPEAKER_02: I'm not I'm I I'm trying to figure out ways to get some pyro in there and some like fire or something.
- 29:57SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm oh my guys, I'm in Vegas.
- 29:59SPEAKER_02: I gotta I gotta I gotta have some pyro in there somewhere, you know.
- 30:03SPEAKER_05: Definitely, you gotta do that.
- 30:05SPEAKER_05: And I think people are ready to feel good.
- 30:07SPEAKER_05: I feel like the audience is, you know, they're gonna be the same, but they're gonna be different.
- 30:10SPEAKER_05: And people are looking for a good time and they want to leave happy.
- 30:14SPEAKER_05: I mean, especially after the year we've had.
- 30:15SPEAKER_02: You know, and my my goal, my sort of my mission, if you will, um, for for so many years now is whenever I do these live shows, is I really genuinely want people to walk out there feeling just positive and feeling great and feeling good.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: So not and not just because of the music or the dancing, but just you know, some of the things I I might incorporate in there and inject in there just to sort of uh to I want everybody to feel sort of light and lifted um and uh and inspired, you know, when they when they walk out of that room.
- 30:44SPEAKER_02: And and I think that uh, you know, for me more than ever, I have more of a mission to do that and more of a calling uh to put on a great show, I have a great time, but also to make people feel good.
- 30:54SPEAKER_05: And you have a little bit of history in Las Vegas, right?
- 30:56SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 30:56SPEAKER_02: My mom my mom lived in Vegas for 20 years.
- 30:58SPEAKER_02: Um so I would as a kid, I would always go to visit her and and and you know walk the strip and look at all the hotels and see the shows and and you know, here I am.
- 31:08SPEAKER_02: I having my own show in Vegas is it's incredible, it's amazing, and uh it's cool to be sort of uh to kind of almost like be like a local there.
- 31:17SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 31:18SPEAKER_02: Um after after my mom living there for 20 years, it's it's pretty wild.
- 31:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 31:22Dayna Roselli: Well, and do you have any favorite spots or any favorite things to do in Las Vegas?
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, I love the shop.
- 31:27SPEAKER_02: I mean that's good.
- 31:31SPEAKER_02: But uh but I I I also love the outdoors, you know, and I love I love all the things that are outside the strip, you know, and how how really normal it is and how beautiful and and not far away you can be in Lake Mead, you know, wake surfing, or you could be, you know, hiking in the or mountain biking up in the mountains, you know.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: So um I love I love anything outdoor.
- 31:49SPEAKER_05: And it's good here.
- 31:49SPEAKER_05: I mean, obviously, once it gets a little cooler, it's a great outdoor spot.
- 31:52Dayna Roselli: So thank you so much for your time.
- 31:54Dayna Roselli: We are so looking forward to you and your show coming to Las Vegas.
- 31:58SPEAKER_05: I I and I love that you have many, many shows on the schedule, you know, not just one or two.
- 32:02SPEAKER_05: I mean, people can come and and they and if they love it, they can go back again, right?
- 32:07SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 32:07SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 32:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
- 32:09SPEAKER_02: September 22nd.
- 32:10SPEAKER_02: Tickets are already on sale right now, and and yeah, it's gonna be a great time.
- 32:14SPEAKER_02: I can't wait.
- 32:14SPEAKER_05: Listen, Derek, thank you so much for your time.
- 32:16SPEAKER_05: I really appreciate it.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: My pleasure.
- 32:18SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 32:20Sean McAllister: It's always great to hear from Derek and you know, with his Vegas connections.
- 32:24Sean McAllister: It'll be great to have him here with his show for about three months this fall.
- 32:29Dayna Roselli: I know, it should be good.
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: You know, they've been putting a lot of shows in that theater at the Venetian.
- 32:33Dayna Roselli: It's where human nature used to perform.
- 32:35Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 32:36Dayna Roselli: And quick note speaking of human nature, I saw, did you see they did an update recently?
- 32:40Dayna Roselli: They had to cancel part of their tour in Australia because of COVID.
- 32:43Dayna Roselli: I felt terrible for them.
- 32:44Dayna Roselli: They were just getting pumped up to to do a lot over there, but they said due to current COVID delta strain situation that's happening in Australia and it's affecting the venue restrictions and the travel that the remaining tour dates for their 2021 shows have now moved to 2022.
- 33:02Dayna Roselli: So I know we have a lot of listeners that love human nature and have followed them through the years.
- 33:05Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I know that those guys are are disappointed too because they love to get up on stage, do what they do, and they do it so well, and their fans have been looking forward to it too.
- 33:15Sean McAllister: So uh that's a disappointment that all around that they have to push those dates to next year down in Australia.
- 33:22Dayna Roselli: All right, and we hope to see everyone at Derek Huff's show at the Venetian.
- 33:25Dayna Roselli: Okay, another show that's back is Potted Potter, and this is I mean, Harry Potter fans love this show.
- 33:32Sean McAllister: Yeah, the Potter Heads go crazy for it because essentially Potted Potter crams every single one of the Harry Potter books into a show that lasts 70 minutes.
- 33:44Sean McAllister: So you go through everything in just a short amount of time, and it really is funny.
- 33:50Dayna Roselli: It really is.
- 33:51Dayna Roselli: And it there's only two cast members, okay?
- 33:53Dayna Roselli: So as you can imagine, for 70 minutes, two guys, it's a whirlwind.
- 33:57Sean McAllister: It's a lot of action.
- 33:58Dayna Roselli: I was at the opening night over at the Bally's Magic Attic Showroom, and I talked to Nicholas Charles and James Edwards.
- 34:07Dayna Roselli: They are really excited to be back on stage.
- 34:10SPEAKER_05: You guys, I'm excited to be here.
- 34:11SPEAKER_05: I saw the show about two years ago, loved it, and I must say, you know what I liked is I have never read one single Harry Potter book.
- 34:17SPEAKER_05: But I did see some of the movies.
- 34:19SPEAKER_05: But isn't that the point?
- 34:20SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's for fans and then people who also don't really, you know, follow Harry Potter to a T.
- 34:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's exactly it.
- 34:27SPEAKER_03: I mean, luckily for us, you know, we've seen all the films as well, like over and over and over again.
- 34:31SPEAKER_03: And that's the good thing about the show.
- 34:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, you could be obsessed with Harry Potter and find all the little nuances that are hilarious, or you can be not a fan and also find it hilarious, just because it's funny.
- 34:40SPEAKER_03: Because it it's it's uh it's it's just two of us.
- 34:43SPEAKER_03: It's two it's two actors up s uh on stage doing all 70 books in 70 minutes.
- 34:47SPEAKER_03: Excuse me, all seven books in 70 minutes.
- 34:49SPEAKER_03: Um it's just two of us.
- 34:50SPEAKER_03: So I play Harry and Nick plays every other character.
- 34:53SPEAKER_03: And that's part of the fun.
- 34:54SPEAKER_05: Well it is, and I must say, it's a lot with two people when you'd think like, how is this gonna work?
- 34:58SPEAKER_05: But I was thoroughly entertained and uh laughing a lot too, right?
- 35:02SPEAKER_01: It's hey, we try and make it the most fun possible.
- 35:05SPEAKER_01: We say bring your kids, it's family friendly.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: There's a little bit of something for everyone, and as James said, you really don't have to read a book like yourself to get any of it because we just basically mess around and do our own thing for the most part.
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: And if you've seen the show before, I will say as well, we've changed a lot of stuff since the pandemic.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: Uh, we've tried to be a little more covid conscious with uh how comfortable our audiences are.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: So if you've seen it, come back and see Potter Putter 2.0.
- 35:31SPEAKER_05: Well, you are very COVID friendly with just two people in the show, right?
- 35:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:36SPEAKER_03: Luckily we didn't have to do any uh intense restricting for rehearsals and everything like that.
- 35:40SPEAKER_03: We were we're we're fine.
- 35:41SPEAKER_05: Well, and for people that don't know, I mean this show is here in Las Vegas, but it's it's been all over, right?
- 35:45SPEAKER_05: I mean, this is a continuous uh is it touring?
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: Uh this is actually the 15th anniversary of the show.
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: So this show started in London with Dan and Jeff as a street theatre show when there are only six books even released.
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: It grew and grew and grew.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: They did the West End, they took it off Broadway, and it's been touring around the US, not at the moment because of some restrictions in certain states.
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: Um but I know as soon as they lift those restrictions, they're gonna be in every corner of the world.
- 36:10Dayna Roselli: And how does it feel to be back on stage?
- 36:13SPEAKER_03: Oh, it feels incredible.
- 36:14SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm sure the audience can relate.
- 36:15SPEAKER_03: It feels good to be back in the theater, good to be back, you know, going out and and seeing people just happy again.
- 36:21SPEAKER_03: It's it's uh it it's immeasurable, honestly.
- 36:24SPEAKER_03: It really, really is.
- 36:25SPEAKER_03: I think everyone is just really excited to be out and really excited to just live again in a different way.
- 36:31Dayna Roselli: So listen, do you guys have any uh favorite things that you love to do in Las Vegas?
- 36:34Dayna Roselli: Because we always do a little tips seg segment where we like to ask people like do you have a favorite restaurant, a favorite thing to do, a little hidden gem you want to let our no listeners know about?
- 36:44Dayna Roselli: Because they're sick of listening to our tips.
- 36:46Dayna Roselli: So I like to get other people's anything that you get a place you frequent.
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: Shout out to Ellis Island, our home, our friendly casino with the cheapest blackjack tables on the strip.
- 36:57SPEAKER_05: I love that.
- 36:58SPEAKER_05: See, we've never had that one before.
- 37:00SPEAKER_05: Ellis Island.
- 37:01SPEAKER_05: It's great there.
- 37:02SPEAKER_05: They even have a karaoke room.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: And also they brew their own beer.
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: So I mean, how uh what more can you ask for, really?
- 37:08Dayna Roselli: Thank you guys so much.
- 37:12Dayna Roselli: Okay, so now we know Ellis Island is their place.
- 37:15Dayna Roselli: That's a good spot.
- 37:16Dayna Roselli: I know it is a good spot.
- 37:17Dayna Roselli: So uh thanks for sharing that tip with us, Nicholas and James.
- 37:20Dayna Roselli: Also, just a note, you know, the show is family friendly, like they they mentioned, and they do have 2 p.m.
- 37:26Dayna Roselli: show times on select days.
- 37:27Dayna Roselli: So they have 8 p.m.
- 37:29Dayna Roselli: show times and 2 p.m.
- 37:30Dayna Roselli: show times.
- 37:30Dayna Roselli: So check out the calendar.
- 37:32Dayna Roselli: But if you want to bring the kids, that would be a really good time to go.
- 37:36Dayna Roselli: Also, while I was there, uh Delius Kennedy from All For One was there as well talking to the guys, and then I sat next to him at the show.
- 37:43Dayna Roselli: All for one's a great band.
- 37:45Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 37:46Dayna Roselli: Is it a band or a group?
- 37:48Dayna Roselli: A group.
- 37:48Dayna Roselli: Group, probably.
- 37:50Dayna Roselli: But yeah, they've got some good songs, and yeah, he was there at the show, so nice to see him support Potted Potter, and he was laughing through the whole thing.
- 37:56Sean McAllister: See, you never know who you're gonna sit next to when you uh go to a Vegas show.
- 38:01Sean McAllister: Even at Usher, when you were there the other night, Ashley Simpson was there with her husband.
- 38:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we saw them when we were out at the pre-party, so that was kind of fun to see her like just hanging out, and I hadn't seen her in a long time, but yeah, they were there.
- 38:15Dayna Roselli: You just never know.
- 38:16Dayna Roselli: You're right, and sometimes, you know, they just blend in.
- 38:18Sean McAllister: And speaking of Usher, Dana, I know that his show over at Caesar's Coliseum is your tip of the week.
- 38:26Sean McAllister: So let's get to the tips.
- 38:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah, this is a show that you have already seen, so I was able to go see it.
- 38:33Dayna Roselli: I wanted to talk about an extra, and this is the Ush backstory.
- 38:37Dayna Roselli: That's what it's called.
- 38:38Dayna Roselli: It is a kind of a VIP experience that you take part in before the show, an hour before the show starts.
- 38:46Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 38:46Dayna Roselli: So you sign up, um, we went and you go like kind of underground.
- 38:51Dayna Roselli: So like under the Coliseum, like you're let out this back door, you stand and wait by the gift shop.
- 38:57Dayna Roselli: They lead you into this area that has like three different themed rooms.
- 39:01Dayna Roselli: And I'm talking like uh, well, there were strippers, there were uh also like tap dancers and lounge singers, and then there was like um kind of sexed up dancers behind a glass, all sorts of stuff.
- 39:19Sean McAllister: That sounds like quite the experience.
- 39:22Dayna Roselli: I don't even know if I'm describing it the right way.
- 39:24Dayna Roselli: I don't even think you can describe it, but you go into these rooms, you can you can buy merchandise, there's little bars, and it's this whole experience, basically, and Usher stuff all over the wall.
- 39:36Dayna Roselli: I I don't even know how to describe it.
- 39:37Dayna Roselli: I think you need to go.
- 39:39Dayna Roselli: But it ended with we went out the back to this like back lot party where there was like break dancing and stuff, and then like Usher was there just hanging out.
- 39:47Dayna Roselli: We were all circled around.
- 39:49Dayna Roselli: I got video, I put it on our uh Vegas Revealed TikTok and also our Instagram.
- 39:54Dayna Roselli: But Usher was there kind of like cheering on the dance crew and dancing, and it was so much fun.
- 40:00Dayna Roselli: And so during this experience, you'll see Usher will pop in at some point.
- 40:05Sean McAllister: Huh.
- 40:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's kind of cool.
- 40:07Sean McAllister: Very cool.
- 40:08Sean McAllister: And so this is all leading up to him going on stage.
- 40:12Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 40:12Dayna Roselli: So it's all before.
- 40:13Dayna Roselli: Then you're let up these stairs right into the coliseum, you show your ticket, and you're brought to your seat.
- 40:18Dayna Roselli: So and then you get these little Usher coins before you go downstairs into the backstory, and you can use them to get a drink.
- 40:24Dayna Roselli: It's a whole thing, but you know, it really creative the way that they they did it.
- 40:28Dayna Roselli: And if you are a diehard Usher fan, I would say definitely go to the backstory splurge.
- 40:33Dayna Roselli: I went in the Coliseum, the whole room was full, it was packed.
- 40:37Dayna Roselli: Um, my thoughts about the show, kind of similar to yours.
- 40:41Dayna Roselli: Great opening, great end.
- 40:43Dayna Roselli: I haven't followed Usher too much.
- 40:46Dayna Roselli: Um, so I didn't know like all the words to every song, everything, but let me tell you, the audience did, and the Usher fans loved it.
- 40:52Dayna Roselli: Um he did some solo parts in the middle.
- 40:55Dayna Roselli: I wish he would have talked a little bit more, like kind of shouted out to the Vegas crowd and stuff like that.
- 41:00Dayna Roselli: That was the one thing that I thought was really lacking, just to kind of personalize it to Vegas a little bit.
- 41:04Dayna Roselli: But you know, listen, the crowd loved it.
- 41:06Dayna Roselli: Um, the music was great, and it it was really fun.
- 41:09Sean McAllister: Well, good.
- 41:10Sean McAllister: I'm glad you were able to go over there, experience Usher for yourself, and have the uh backstory experience.
- 41:18Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 41:18Dayna Roselli: It was behind glass.
- 41:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I it's hard to explain.
- 41:22Dayna Roselli: Again, I feel bad because my description is just awful, but it's just very random and all over, and and that's what Vegas is about.
- 41:29Sean McAllister: Well, I guess the moral of the story is you need to go and experience the backstory for yourself to get a full appreciation of everything that it is.
- 41:37Sean McAllister: Right.
- 41:38Sean McAllister: Another thing that you need to experience for yourself if you are a believer, which is a Justin Bieber fan, is uh the Justin Bieber and Friends Las Vegas weekender.
- 41:50Sean McAllister: This is just announced and it's happening over at Win Las Vegas.
- 41:54Sean McAllister: It's three days and nights of pool parties and nighttime events with an entire lineup of entertainment curated by Justin Bieber.
- 42:05Sean McAllister: It's also going to include some pop-up activations over those three days.
- 42:11Sean McAllister: And I this sounds like a really fun time.
- 42:14Sean McAllister: And this follows Justin's one night only performance at Win Las Vegas back in July.
- 42:21Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 42:21Dayna Roselli: And then he made an appearance at uh Delilah Supper Club opening too.
- 42:25Dayna Roselli: And everyone was kind of wondering like, is this gonna be part of something bigger?
- 42:28Dayna Roselli: You know, it just seems weird for like a one-off.
- 42:31Dayna Roselli: So I mean, this announcement um just came out, and another tip is he has a link on his Instagram in his bio where you can go pop your email in there so that you can get all the information about this upcoming event right to your inbox.
- 42:49Dayna Roselli: So do that if you're interested and you really want to follow what's going on.
- 42:52Dayna Roselli: He doesn't release too many other details.
- 42:54Dayna Roselli: All right, well, we will stay tuned for sure.
- 42:57Dayna Roselli: Um, we are recording this podcast on a Thursday, and tonight Sean is going to check out uh RuPaul's Drag Race Las Vegas because that show now returned.
- 43:06Dayna Roselli: They opened and were only open for a short time before they had to close during COVID.
- 43:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, and of course, RuPaul's Drag Race, you know, has just become a hit on VH1 and you know, winning Emmy after Emmy after Emmy, and people have loved the show.
- 43:22Sean McAllister: Now RuPaul has created RuPaul's Drag Race Live, which is over at Flamingo Las Vegas, with some of the stars of the more recent seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race.
- 43:34Sean McAllister: Such a fun show.
- 43:35Sean McAllister: There was a limited series uh kind of documenting the show's creation, and that series kind of ended when COVID started because the show stopped.
- 43:46Sean McAllister: Um, so hopefully they'll be able to pick that up again.
- 43:49Sean McAllister: Um, but we were there at the the opening in the red carpet, and the outfits are amazing, and the drag queens are so excited.
- 43:58Sean McAllister: So it'll be good to see them back on stage again over there at Flamingo, and we'll have everything about RuPaul's Drag Race Live returning to the stage next week here on Vegas Revealed.
- 44:09Dayna Roselli: I feel like once again we could go on and on.
- 44:11Dayna Roselli: There are just so many stories to tell and things that we witness and do here in Las Vegas, um, but we run out of time.
- 44:19Sean McAllister: And a lot of you listen while you're out for a run or doing chores around the house.
- 44:24Sean McAllister: So we know that that time is winding down for you, and we don't want to make you work out longer than you have to.
- 44:30Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 44:31Sean McAllister: Or do more chores.
- 44:32Dayna Roselli: Quick shout out for our Hall of What do we call it?
- 44:35Dayna Roselli: The Hall of Fame?
- 44:36Sean McAllister: Hall of Fame.
- 44:37Dayna Roselli: The Hall of Fame.
- 44:41Dayna Roselli: We got another donation from Rob, our friend in Atlanta.
- 44:45Dayna Roselli: I wanted to send a shout out to him.
- 44:47Dayna Roselli: Uh, he gave us a second donation uh about a month ago, and we have been busy with vacationing and pre-planned podcasts, so we didn't get to give a shout-out to Rob.
- 44:56Dayna Roselli: We appreciate you so much.
- 44:57Dayna Roselli: We got a donation in from Brian from Las Vegas, who listens to the podcast all the time.
- 45:03Dayna Roselli: We appreciate you so much, Brian.
- 45:05Dayna Roselli: Really, these donations make a difference for us.
- 45:08Dayna Roselli: We put a lot of time into the podcast.
- 45:10Dayna Roselli: Sean and I also run our own business, a media company, so we have to really make time for this stuff.
- 45:17Dayna Roselli: And a lot of the things that we do, we love doing it.
- 45:19Dayna Roselli: We have so much fun doing it.
- 45:21Dayna Roselli: But, you know, that is time consuming too.
- 45:24Dayna Roselli: And we always make sure that we're getting video and pictures for social media so that you guys can get, you know, that that first hand experience, even if you're not here.
- 45:32Sean McAllister: Yeah, so the donations really do help us to keep up all of the efforts to keep Vegas Revealed going.
- 45:38Sean McAllister: And you can find the link to our PayPal down in the show notes.
- 45:42Sean McAllister: Uh, if you click down there on whatever platform you're listening on, you'll see the link.
- 45:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, we appreciate it so, so much.
- 45:49Sean McAllister: And as always, you can check us out online on our social media or at vegas-revealed.com.
- 45:56Sean McAllister: And now you can hear us on the radio here in southern Nevada and Southern California.

- 46:08Sean McAllister: On behalf of the flight crew, thank you for flying with us and have a pleasant day.
- 46:12Sean McAllister: Let's go to bed.
- 46:14Sean McAllister: Let's go back.
- 46:16Sean McAllister: Let's go to bed, baby.
- 46:18Sean McAllister: Let's go.
