- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:29coop. Today I want to talk to you
- 0:32about your goals. And I'm not talking about, oh,
- 0:35let's set goals. I'm talking about really looking
- 0:38at your goals and understanding there are evolutions that
- 0:42happened to us in this process and what we thought we wanted
- 0:45may not be what we currently are still wanting.
- 0:50And sometimes we are so stubborn or so blind to the fact that
- 0:54we've had something on our, you know, goal list for a long time
- 0:58and we haven't made it happen that we just keep it there.
- 1:02And I I think probably myself included in this and every
- 1:05client that I've ever coached, we've had this conversation and
- 1:08I'll say, well, how long have you wanted that goal?
- 1:10And they might say, oh, as long as I can remember, but I never
- 1:13seem to make it. And this is, this is really an
- 1:16interesting thing when you hear that because what does it mean
- 1:20when you've had a goal on your list for a really long time that
- 1:23you've just never met? Does it mean that you don't want
- 1:26it? No, I do believe that when we
- 1:28put them down, we want them. Does it mean that we have
- 1:33changed in the process? Yes, if it's still sitting there
- 1:37and it hasn't happened. We evolve as human beings,
- 1:40constantly in the process of evolving.
- 1:44Things change and sometimes what we once wanted, we no longer
- 1:48really want, but rarely do. We go back and check in and say,
- 1:52does the person that I am right now still want this?
- 1:58Who, who? And this came from the person
- 2:00who I was? And it's hard, it's hard to ask
- 2:04the questions because it's, you know, you have to confront
- 2:07yourself. You have to say the person that
- 2:09I currently am, is this person really up for this particular
- 2:15goal or this particular outcome, whichever the word is that you
- 2:19like intention, goal, whatever it is, and actually putting
- 2:24yourself, pausing, putting yourself in the place of thought
- 2:27about this and saying what's the difference between what my
- 2:30head's telling me about it and my gut's telling me about it
- 2:33takes patience with yourself and it takes honesty.
- 2:37And you know, we've talked about honesty on here before, where
- 2:40it's like you have got to be radically honest with yourself.
- 2:43Nothing is more dangerous than lying to yourself and
- 2:46understanding that those little tiny lies erode at your
- 2:49happiness constantly. Because ultimately you become
- 2:53incredibly happy when you're incredibly honest with yourself.
- 2:56Because you feel free. You feel easier on yourself.
- 2:59You just feel like you can be and you have this process of
- 3:02being, you know, regularly honest with yourself.
- 3:06You don't feel like you're restricted and it's incredibly
- 3:09important to remember that. So as somebody who's on here and
- 3:12you're listening to this and, you know, trying to better
- 3:15yourself and your life in the process of it, recognizing that
- 3:19some of your goals may not be the same that they as they
- 3:22always were or you might want them at the same as you always
- 3:25had them is important. I mean, I I can't tell you how
- 3:28many times I have shifted and said, you know, at one point the
- 3:32person I was really wanted this. And now the person that I am
- 3:36does not want this. It's just I've, I've grown up,
- 3:39it's just not the same thing that I want to do anymore or
- 3:42I've changed my intention. I found something that means a
- 3:46little bit more to me. I found something that has a a
- 3:50different connection to me. It doesn't mean that I am not
- 3:55setting new goals. It doesn't mean that I'm not
- 3:57going to have something to work towards.
- 3:59It just means that I am constantly aware of the
- 4:02evolution that I go through as a human being.
- 4:05And when you are aware of it, you can recognize that those
- 4:09goals are just in the process of shifting as well.
- 4:14Now, will there be goals that are just part of who you are as
- 4:17a person? Yes, and it is in in just a
- 4:21piece of your every fibre of your being and you will stick
- 4:25with those goals and then there will be those goals that are
- 4:28just, they're in and out. They're the some that changed.
- 4:32They're the ones that you know they were important, but they
- 4:36really weren't like critical. They were.
- 4:37They were there. They were a want more than
- 4:41anything else. And understanding that about
- 4:44yourself is the height of awareness when you get into this
- 4:50phase. And you can really start to
- 4:52recognize it's OK to take something that's been on a piece
- 4:56of paper and erase it or say I'm no longer interested in this,
- 5:01wow, that's power means that you see yourself for all that you
- 5:05are and you're not shying away from it and you're not lying to
- 5:08yourself about it. So today I'll challenge you to
- 5:12go and look at your goals and see are they still fitting of
- 5:16you who you are now? Do they need to shift?
- 5:18What's the evolution they need to go through and allow yourself
- 5:21the the gift of changing them, shifting them, doing whatever it
- 5:25is that you need to get them to a different place.
- 5:28So I hope you guys have an incredibly wonderful day and I
- 5:32will see you all tomorrow.
