- 26:24NASA has implemented additional processes to ensure that
- 26:28Spacex's and Axiom Spaces designs and systems meet mission
- 26:32requirements and maintain crew safety.

- 27:37withdrawing their advertisements following owner Elon Musk's
- 27:41endorsement of a supposed anti-Semitic post.
- 27:44Now the shift signifies an important recalibration of X's
- 27:48business model, focusing on creating a conducive environment
- 27:51for smaller businesses as opposed to mega corporations.
- 27:56Now, Elon Musk has openly criticized the platform's
- 27:59previous advertising strategy, particularly its approach to
- 28:02small businesses. This criticism led to a radical
- 28:05overhaul of the advertising policies, aiming to make the
- 28:08platform more accessible and appealing to smaller companies.
- 28:12Now, X's new direction involves revising advertising policies
- 28:15and streamlining the ad creation process to suit the needs and
- 28:19budgets of these smaller entities.
- 28:21And the loss of major advertisers has been a
- 28:24significant blow to X's revenue stream.
- 28:26As of now, high profile companies like Disney, Warner
- 28:29Brothers, and Universal have ceased posting on the platform
- 28:33altogether, a decision that affects not only advertising
- 28:36income but also user engagement. And these brands which command
- 28:40large followings were instrumental in making acts an
- 28:43influential platform in their absence leaves a noticeable
- 28:47void. In response to the exodus, X has
- 28:50ramped up its investment in promoting ads from smaller
- 28:53companies. This includes offering more
- 28:55targeted and budget friendly advertising options and
- 28:58leveraging sophisticated self-service ad buying tools.
- 29:02These tools are designed to enable even those with little
- 29:05marketing experience to efficiently target potential
- 29:07customers. Musk's handling of the situation
- 29:10has drawn criticism from various quarters.
- 29:13His blunt response to advertisers leaving the platform
- 29:15telling them to go F themselves has been seen by many as a
- 29:19damaging approach likely to deter brands from returning.
- 29:23This sentiment was echoed by Lou Pascales, founder and CEO of
- 29:27marketing consultancy AJL Advisory, who described Musk's
- 29:31comments as potentially the closing chapter for brands

- 29:38there is a sense of optimism about the potential of small and
- 29:41medium sized businesses to fill the revenue gap left by larger
- 29:45advertisers. However, this optimism is
- 29:48cautious as smaller businesses typically have much less to
- 29:52spend on advertising compared to their larger counterparts.
- 29:56X's bet is on its ability to provide efficient and effective
- 30:00advertising solutions that cater to these smaller budgets going
- 30:04forward. And the competition in the
- 30:06digital advertising space is very intense, with platforms
- 30:10like Meta, Google and TikTok already established as popular
- 30:13choices for small and medium sized businesses.
- 30:16X's success in attracting these businesses will depend on how
- 30:20well it can differentiate its offerings and provide unique
- 30:23value that resonates with this new target market.
- 30:26And the controversy surrounding Musk's endorsement of an
- 30:29anti-Semitic conspiracy theory has not only impacted advertiser
- 30:32relationships but also drawn legal scrutiny.
- 30:35Musk's decision to file a lawsuit against Media Matters
- 30:38following the report on the issue adds another layer of
- 30:41complexity to X's ongoing challenges.
- 30:44In addition to losing advertisers, X is also seeing a
- 30:47reduction in content from major media brands.
- 30:50The absence of posts from accounts affiliated with Disney,
- 30:53including Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel Studios, which have
- 30:57millions of followers combined, is a huge loss for the platform.
- 31:02Now, these accounts were previously very active on the
- 31:04platform and their departure reduces the diversity and appeal
- 31:07of content available to XS users.
- 31:09And the shift in focus to small and medium sized businesses
- 31:12requires not just a change in advertising strategy, but also a
- 31:16cultural shift within X. The platform must foster an
- 31:19environment that is welcoming and supportive of these smaller
- 31:22entities, understanding their unique needs and constraints.
- 31:26And amidst the backdrop, the future of X remains kind of
- 31:29uncertain at this point. While the platform has the
- 31:31potential to reinvent itself by successfully engaging with a new
- 31:35demographic of smaller brands and advertisers, the loss of
- 31:39these major brands in the controversy surrounding its
- 31:41owner pose significant challenges.
