Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville, Jaguar's fans, welcome in to Duval, daily presented by Gen Jack.com and fueled by brass tax coffee right now.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: We are going over the Jaguar's first unofficial depth chart for the 2026 season getting ready for the Jaguar's taking on the New Orleans Saints and joint practices on Thursday and then their first preseason game on Saturday at 4pm in New Orleans.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars have their final walk through tomorrow morning, recording this Tuesday night.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: This will be published first thing in the morning on Wednesday ahead of the Jaguars final walk through.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: This is the first unofficial depth chart that you're seeing right here right now.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go through it, line by line, position by position, and just offer some reactions, takeaways, et cetera.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I would like to say like,
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot out there right now that kind of talks about as Murray's causing a little bit of a ruckus over there, a little docks in here.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of takeaways around the web about like this or that, that's like kind of sensationalizes the first step chart for one.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: This is the first unofficial depth chart.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't mean all that much for two.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see anything on this depth chart that if you've been paying attention day to day,
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: with Jaguar's training camp, that really stands out as a major surprise.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: There's things to get into.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: There's reasons to talk about it.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, of course, there are.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: But there's nothing that really stands out in a major way to me that is a big surprise based on what we have seen.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: So I just wanted to get that out there.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: Now, let's get to it.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that high button.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: So obviously, they start with wider silver here.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: We are going to go through it line by line, talk about each position, and what we're
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: I will go through the, even though it's not like in order here, I'll go through the wider severs.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of broken down a little bit as if like you're actually like trying to visualize an 11, a grouping of 11 out here.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: So you have wider seaver on the,
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: left side, wider seers on the right side.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: So, you have Parker Washington listed as a starting wider seaver.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: You have Brian Thomas Jr., listed as a starting wider seaver, Angico B. Myers listed as a starting wider seaver.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: It kind of does look like here if you're visualizing that, that Brian Thomas Jr. is in the slot.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's the case at all, I would not read that too much into that.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think based on the roles that we have seen these players perform throughout their careers and so far in training camp, Brian Thomas Jr. is more of a X slash Z receiver, more X than anything else, but also Z, but also came moved around in the slot.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: And that is the beauty of having these three top-wide receivers that the Jaguar has have.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: You have BTJ Jacobi Myers Parker Washington,
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: can be somewhat interchangeable.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: BTJ, however, is more of the vertical field stretching threat.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington is more of the do it all threat.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: And Jacobie Myers is more of the chain mover possession type receiver.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: Does that mean each one of those players can't do different things?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: No, but that's like the basic role that they're in, they will be asked to do other things.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: No surprises there at all with those top tier receivers.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: When you get to the offensive line,
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: If I had told you a week and a half ago, a week ago, even, perhaps, that Anton Harrison was listed as the starting left tackle, which, of course, again, if you're visualizing 11, like it's weird, right tackle to left tackle, whatever, it doesn't matter.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Anton Harrison at left tackle, a little bit surprising.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: compared to a week ago, a week and a half ago, two weeks ago.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: But Anton Harrison, instead of just kind of moving around and playing a lot of left and right tackle, has basically played left tackle most of camp.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Colvin Lannon is not on this depth chart here.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: He's still on the active slash PUP.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: So he's not available while he's still on the PUP, even though he is technically on the active 90-man roster.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: Just a training camp, preseason mechanic, roster mechanic, that team have, right?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, Antoine Harrison, I do believe is now the Jaguar starting left tackle.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: This shows you that as well.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's not officially official until Antoine Harrison is out there at left tackle for week one.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: But I do believe that Antoine Harrison is going to be your week one starting left tackle.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think if they had to play a game right now,
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: Walker Little would probably be that right tackle.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: You do have to keep in mind.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't practiced the last few practices.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's dealing with a little bit of an injury.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars do not have to disclose what's going on from an injury standpoint at this point in the season.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: And so they haven't.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't blame them at all for that.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: Walker Little.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: is listed as you're starting right tackle.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: I do believe once week one comes along, it is expected that Colvane landed as supposed to be healthy.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: I would expect Anton Harrison and Colvane landed to be your two starting tackles with Walker little being the top backup at whichever position they want to list him at right now.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's at right tackle.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I would assume he would probably be listed as your backup right tackle, but he would be your backup
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: for either player.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: You also have Patrick McCarrie at right guard.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't gotten much team work at all, but he is your starting right guard.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: Robert Hansie is your starting center as your Cleveland is your starting left guard.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: No big surprises there.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: Is it possible that why a mile him could push Patrick McCarrie?
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, is it possible that Jonah Monheim could push Patrick McCarrie?
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yes,
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: lower on the totem pole as a rookie as someone who is trying to, um, basically trying to grasp the complexities of an NFL offense.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: And specifically, a very complex NFL offense, and Liam Cohen's offense.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a little bit behind my loom and Monheim right now.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: And beyond that, obviously, you have Tuma Doga also as your backup right tackle.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: don't know that he's necessarily going to make the roster if they keep 10 offensive linemen, I definitely think he'll be on the roster.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: If they potentially trade an offensive linemen, or move on from a different offensive linemen, Tuma Doge will be on the roster.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: But there's currently nine offensive linemen that I feel like are locked in ahead of Tuma Doge, which are your starting five listed here.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: Why at my LUM, Jonah Monheim, Emmanuel Pragnon, and
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: So it's going to be a roster of mass sort of thing.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: There beyond that, I don't think you're going to see Ricky Lee, Killian Zirr, Jerome Carvin, Sam Moosterford, John Christen, Obedegguo, on the act of roster.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: That would be a surprise to me.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: nothing really big surprising there if you've been paying attention.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: If you hadn't been paying attention, you're just looking at this depth chart, having been paying attention to training camp.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: You're like Anton Harrison's starting left tackle.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that would be a surprise, but that's been the case for the last week plus.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where we're at right now.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Um, tied in Britain's strange.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you're number one, Nate Borgerture at two, Tanner Coziel at three.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: You could say it's a surprise that Coziel is ahead of Morris or long
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: But if you've been paying attention to training camp, it's not a surprise.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: Oftentimes, you do see rookies listed behind veterans and Morris and long are obviously veterans in this league, but it has been clear that Britain and Strange Nate Borgerture and Tanner Coziel are the Jaguar's top three tie-dense.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: quarterback, no surprises here.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence, then you have Nick Mullins, Carter Bradley Joey Agalar.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: They want to see Carter Bradley kind of master the pre-snap and all of that sort of thing like the quarterbacking of the offense.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: They know he has talent, they know he has physical ability.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they want to see him do here moving forward.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: at running back you have Vatial Tut in your first or with Chris Rodriguez, which is not a surprise.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like it's a 1a and 1b situation, a ride the hot hand situation, a situation honestly where you could say game script, opponent matchups, that sort of thing, and then Lee Quint Allen is clearly your third back as a pass down back, but somebody who can also come in and tote the rock as well.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Beyond that, you have a mirror, Dula, DJ Dallas, Jamari Taylor, of Dula and Dallas, our veterans that are very good special teamers, and Jamari Taylor is a undrafted rookie trying to fight his way onto this roster, probably a long shot, but I do think somebody who they would like to keep around as a practice squad player.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: Beyond the top receivers, you have Josh Cameron and CJ Williams and Travis Hunter as your top backups.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: Again, not a surprise based on what we've seen.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: CJ Williams and Josh Cameron have both caught passes from Trevor Lawrence as rookies, which is good to see.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think their players that you kind of were like, well, let's wait and see, but they've both impressed and then Travis Hunter obviously is your fourth receiver.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't think there's any question about that at this point.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: The only surprise, I guess you would say, based on where we're at right now compared to where you are, where you were starting training camp would be Anton Harrison at left tackle.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: But again, if you maintain attention, no big surprises there.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Getting into the defensive side of things.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Devon Hamilton at nose tackle with Albert Regisus's backup, no surprise there at all, defensive tackle here, which is really kind of your three tech, but
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are not so limited defensive front-wise that it's really a three-tech, like they do a lot of different things, so they'll be lined up in different places, but you have Eric Armstrong said, obviously your starter, Matt Dickerson is your top back up there, and then Ruka Roarrow behind Matt Dickerson, that was a surprise to some people.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it would be a surprise in certain situations if Matt Dickerson was on the field over Rook or Aurora.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: But I think in a base defense situation, if Eric Graham said wasn't available, Matt Dickerson would be the starter.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: They brought Matt Dickerson back after initially last year starting like practice squad and then working his way up onto the roster and then being a
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Starting defensive tackle and base for them, like they believe Matt Dickerson will execute his assignment and do his job.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Rook Aurora is still trying to prove himself in that regard, but I do think if it's 3rd and 10, and you have to have Matt Dickerson or Rook Aurora on the field, and you're clearly in a past past-row situation, it's probably Rook, right?
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think I feel comfortable saying that.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: a defensive and obviously Josh Hines Allen, Trayvom Walker, then you have BJ Green and Danny Striggo.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's good for both of those guys.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that both of them will make their roster.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: I also believe that both Zach Dürfie and Wesley Williams will also make their roster.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: Dürfie and Williams were...
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Day three picks, Wesley Williams, a fourth rounder, Derfee, a seventh rounder.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think that when you look at Strigo and Williams, they both fit in the mold of kind of like just do your job, execute, physical, strong, set the edge, high effort guys, and then BJ Greenens Act, Derfee are high effort, but also kind of have a little bit more of that potentially winning one on one.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: against a left tackle and winning on their own as past rushers.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's my opinion there.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: For a Lua can ventrow Miller and Dennis Gardeck listed as your starting linebackers, it is not a surprise to see a ventrow Miller or Branson Colms designation.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: They've been in a heated competition, like that's clearly what it's been.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Kaiser has been dealing with injury.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't been participating in practice.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's supposed to return during training camp.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: The one thing I would say here, at linebacker.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: Then it's cardiac clearly you're starting to say I'm linebacker.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yasiro Bdula and Jailum McLeod, probably fighting for one roster spot.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: Does Yasiro Bdula being ahead of McLeod on the depth chart really mean that much right now?
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but I will say, Yasiro Bdula is one of the best special teams players on the team.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: He has earned,
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: Everything he's gotten here, especially with being a day three pick from a former regime who had to fight his way onto this roster last year, and he's going to have to hold off jail in club.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I really don't think there's room for both of them, and then you also look at Parker Hughes a 7th round pick small school really good athlete.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: My best guess is that Parker Hughes and J.L.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: McCloud could potentially be practice squad candidates.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't know if either of them would get picked up by another team honestly.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where I'm at there.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then you get into the secondary buster brown at corner, Jordan Lewis at corner, Travis Hunter at starting corner.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, that's clearly what we have expected with Buster Brown and Travis Hunter outside Jordan Lewis inside Jarring Jones, I think.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have to list him at multiple spots here, but I think if either Buster Brown or Travis Hunter were not available at corner, or you didn't want them out there for a specific reason, Jarian Jones would be the next man up outside, and then I think you have to borrow him in a home and in Christian Braswell.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: Clearly those top two backups will both of them make the team.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: There's gonna be some serious roster math going on.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: But beyond those six corners,
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think Cory Valentine Preston Hodge Devon Marshall long shots to make the team.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: Each of them has had success in different moments.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think Valentine and Marshall would be a little bit ahead of Hodge right now.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Valentine has a lot of experience.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: Marshall, I think, has been a little bit more consistent than Hodge.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: at safety.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: You have Eric Murray and Antonio Johnson as your starters.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Caleb Branson could potentially push Eric Murray as a starter.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars will be in a lot of sets where you have three safeties on the field, where you have four corners on the field.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: So even if Caleb Branson is not a starter and I don't expect him to be because Antonio Johnson is clearly locked in and then Eric Murray to me is also locked in.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Ransal, you'll still see.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think Rayon Lane being ahead of Jalen Husky, he's played better than Husky so far, and Husky was a third round pick.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: Rayon Lane was a six round pick I believe the year before.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think both of those guys will be on the roster, but Rayon Lane has a role, a huge role.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: One of the most important special teamers on the team, and also, I think, acquitted himself well last year when he was forced into actual playing time at the safety position, Jalen Husky, a little bit behind right now.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: That might be a surprise to some.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: It was clearly going to be a competition there between Lane and Husky and Huno's.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: Husky is going to have his opportunities.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's still a lot of time before
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: the Jaguar has had their first down of the regular season still over a month away, not much over a month, but just a little over a month away.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: For Husky to potentially jump lane, there's going to be a lot of joint practice, a lot of preseason game and a lot of practice time to kind of figure all that out.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then when you get into these specialists here, no big surprises.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'm a little starting kicker.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: The Logan Cook, starting punner and holder,
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, Ross Madison, starting a long snapper.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: And that partner turn Parker Washington is still your starter.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_00]: Kicker turn basal to and leak when Alan nothing there has changed from last year.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: So really, again, any major surprises at this point?
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: No, if you were talking a couple of weeks ago, Anton Harris, and being your left tackle, would have been a surprise, yes.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_00]: But other than that, this is pretty much status quo type stuff here.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing too sensational, nothing too crazy.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: I do think the Jaguar has had a deeper roster than they had last year and the year before that and the year before that, right?
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they've done a really good job establishing some depth with young players and veterans that they've brought in.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that they have a more star-studded lineup as well.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: with some of the development of the players that they have brought in and also obviously Travis Hunter being a key cog here and really Parker Washington establishing himself as one of the best players on the team.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think so yeah let me know your thoughts in the comment section below if you enjoy the content here it's all jacks all the time please like and subscribe y'all for great one.
