- 0:00They're going to have a ton of money to spend.
- 0:01Why not putting in one of the top three offensive players in
- 0:05the league we're going to be. Looking at Aaron Judge and
- 0:15saying that he can't. Win the big game, Michael Jordan
- 0:18said. I played 82 games.
- 0:20You don't see the fuck? Doing that a game where?
- 0:23You got to go before I told you. Giant feet.
- 0:26Saquon Barkley. At this point,
- 0:41say whatever you want. He's the best quarterback in the
- 0:44NFL. Really.
- 1:27Or listening to Jabba and the Mouth Mouth.
- 1:33Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we are back.
- 1:37I'm not scaring anybody tonight. I might scare myself because
- 1:41I've been drowsing off not I just I've been feeling a little
- 1:46stressed out so I popped a little pill, I'm relaxing and I
- 1:52might be dozing off a little bit.
- 1:53There's a lot to get into tonight.
- 1:55No Jabba, Jabba's flying to New York.

- 2:57for all our show is shows are go to our website at
- 3:01www.worldwidesportsradio.com. I want to say something.
- 3:05So I've been stressed out all day.
- 3:09There's a lot going on. I'm I'm working on a website,
- 3:12I'm working on some other business deals.
- 3:15So everything possible has gone wrong for me today.
- 3:20I I'm not going to mention why and what, but everything.
- 3:23So I was flabbergasted all day. I went to see my girlfriend, I
- 3:27stopped at her apartment and she said take one of these, these
- 3:30will calm you down. And since then, I've been trying
- 3:34to keep my eyes open and not drowsing off.
- 3:38So I, I've, I've been trying to eat some candy as everybody sees
- 3:42on the side over here. You see that Hershey's kisses as
- 3:46I eat my Hershey's bar. It'll give me some sugar, a
- 3:48little sugar rush. And trust me, ladies and
- 3:51gentlemen, when I'm on a sugar rush, I could go all over the
- 3:56place, but you'll definitely enjoy the show.
- 3:58But I, I will say this and I, I, I say this because all these
- 4:03years doing this show and I've met so many people, I've gone to
- 4:08so many different events, I met so many athletes, so many
- 4:12different personalities in the music industry.
- 4:16The one thing I could say about this industry that you can't
- 4:19change is you have to be ready no matter what, no matter what,
- 4:24It doesn't matter if you're tired, you're sick.
- 4:26If you're invited to an event, you have to show up and you got
- 4:28to do the best that you possibly can.
- 4:30It doesn't matter how sick you are or how how you feel.
- 4:33You got to go out there and give your best product.
- 4:36And that's what I do on this show.
- 4:37It's, it's crazy because sometimes I feel like a
- 4:40windshield wiper and I, you know, my head's bouncing back
- 4:44and forth and, and no matter what, I feel like I'm never
- 4:47ending water hitting that windshield.
- 4:49So it's, it's just to me an analogy, but I, I feel like the
- 4:55world is so very different now, not just in sports, but the
- 4:59world as a whole. And I wonder sometimes how I get
- 5:04through day by day and figure out, well, I'm going to get into
- 5:08sports conversation. I'm going to try to take people
- 5:11away from their crazy day, their work day, everything I keep away
- 5:15from their wives or their kids. And, and one thing I always want
- 5:19to do and I always prepare for, no matter how tired or how sick
- 5:22I had neck surgery. I had hip surgery and the doctor
- 5:27told me when I had my neck surgery that I could not speak
- 5:31into a mic for two weeks. The day after I had my neck
- 5:35surgery I was on the mic doing a show Speedy can vouch for.
- 5:38Me, yeah. The only day I think you ever
- 5:40missed a show is when you were actually in the hospital.
- 5:42That's right. Yeah.
- 5:43I don't miss shows. I don't run away no matter how
- 5:46sick I am. Doctors telling me I can't, I
- 5:49can be spitting blood. I'm going to come on the show
- 5:51and I'm going to entertain people.
- 5:53That's why when everybody asks me, well, we can have a show
- 5:56tonight. You can have a show.
- 5:57I can't wait for the show tonight.
- 5:58And, and I'll say, are you sick? And I've been sick.
- 6:01I've been deathly sick with a fever.
- 6:03And I did a show and I went four hours on that show.
- 6:06So I don't care what anybody says.
- 6:09If you have love and you have passion for what you do, you're
- 6:12going to go out there no matter how sick or how tired or how
- 6:15roughed up you are throughout your day to give the best
- 6:17product you probably can or possibly can.
- 6:20So anyways, Speedy, how are you man?
- 6:22I'm doing all right, Evan. What are you looking at?
- 6:25Are you looking at your lap? What?
- 6:26What the heck are you doing every time looking down?
- 6:28No, I'm, I'm trying to post up our our Instagram feed on our
- 6:31Java in the mouth Instagram with our is it up with yes, with our
- 6:34fun new, with our great new graphic that you created for our
- 6:37our New York brand now, which is very cool.
- 6:39If you haven't checked out that logo yet, definitely check it
- 6:41out. It's very cool.
- 6:42But I want to give a shout out. He couldn't do a show today to
- 6:45Josh. Something happened with his kid.
- 6:46He was crying. So hopefully he's OK as well.
- 6:48Yeah, I I heard he reached out to me and said he couldn't make
- 6:51it tonight because of something with his family.
- 6:54I didn't know it was his son. So yeah, Caleb.
- 6:57His kid was crying on the phone, so I was.
- 6:59Hopefully Caleb and Carter are OK.
- 7:01Maybe they're sick. There's a lot of different
- 7:04diseases going around and I think stomach virus is going on
- 7:08right now here in Long Island. It's been very, very bad.
- 7:10People have been getting sick. So hopefully Caleb or Uncle
- 7:15Errol over here is selling Caleb and Carter to get better, get
- 7:19well and, you know, drink a lot of water, which I do every
- 7:23single day now. Maybe, maybe, maybe his kids
- 7:27will need. My skin, my skin is not
- 7:30stretching. I don't look like I'm, well,
- 7:32what? What am I-40?
- 7:33I almost said I was 73. I see scoops over here.
- 7:39He's sitting over here shaking his head.
- 7:40But you know, that's, that's how torn I am when it comes to and
- 7:44I've never taken this pill before.
- 7:46So I I don't even know what it is.
- 7:47Brittany says. It's it's like for stress.
- 7:49So I was like, is it going to make me drowsy?
- 7:52Dr. doesn't say it's, I said whatever, whatever could take
- 7:55me, you know, take a little pinch of my stress.
- 7:58Stress out. I will.
- 8:00I'll take the the pill. And I did, and I've been
- 8:03drowsing off ever since. But trust me, I'm here to
- 8:07entertain people for the rest of the night.
- 8:09ESP NS Seth Wickersham reports Wednesday to the absolute shock
- 8:16of everyone that Bill Belichick did not get enough votes to get
- 8:21into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a first ballot.
- 8:27Hall of Fame voters had a pick. Well, had to pick up to three
- 8:33names, Belichick, Robert Kraft, Ken Anderson and Roger Craig and
- 8:40Elsie Greenwood on their ballots.
- 8:44Yes. Still, Belichick didn't make it.
- 8:48The athletic Mike Sando and the Hall of Fame voter himself is a
- 8:53Hall of Famer himself, says that recent rules change allowing
- 8:58coaches to be eligible one year after their retirement instead
- 9:02of the usual five years might have impacted some old school
- 9:07voters. In addition to the Spygate and
- 9:10Deflategate cheating scandals, many Patriot players, including
- 9:15Julian Edelman, both Mccourty brothers, Logan Ryan, Matt
- 9:20Castle tweeted their disbelief about Belichick not getting in
- 9:25on how he should have made the Hall of Fame on a first ballot.
- 9:29And they're ashamed of themselves.
- 9:31Well, they should be ashamed of themselves.
- 9:33There is also a theory that the Hall of Fame and former GM of
- 9:37the 90s Bills and and Peyton Manning era Colts Bill Polian
- 9:43was telling other voters not to vote for Belichick as a
- 9:48punishment for cheating. But the Hall of Fame confirmed
- 9:50today that Polian did vote for Belichick.
- 9:54Yeah, sure. Belichick was part of the 2000s
- 9:58and 2000 tens all decade teams and was one of nine coaches on
- 10:05the NFL 100th Anniversary Team. All nine other coaches were
- 10:12first ballot Hall of Famers. Belichick is 1/3 all, third all
- 10:16time with three O 2 career wins and first all time with 31
- 10:21playoff wins and six Super Bowl championships.
- 10:27Well, ladies and gentlemen, I wrote a story a couple of days
- 10:30ago and I spoke about the whole, my whole thought about Bill
- 10:34Belichick. I'm not a Bill Belichick fan.
- 10:37I'm not. Everybody knows I'm a Jet fan
- 10:41and what he did to The Jets in 24 hours, jumping ship when it
- 10:45was given to him. He was very close with Leon
- 10:48Hess. Leon Hess sold his rights to
- 10:50Woody Johnson. He didn't want to work for Woody
- 10:52Johnson, and Woody had his own opinion about Bill Belichick
- 10:56before he took the job. So Bill Belichick had no
- 10:59interest in staying there when Bill Parcell stopped, stepped
- 11:02down. But here's the facts, ladies and
- 11:06gentlemen, as much as I can't stand Bill Belichick, and maybe
- 11:11if Bill Belichick stayed with the New York Jets, The Jets
- 11:14would be the sixth time NFL champion and maybe be one of the
- 11:18more successful teams of the last 2020 years and decade.
- 11:26My fact here, the fact that the NFL doesn't appreciate a guy
- 11:30this good, this talented and actually drafted Tom Brady.
- 11:35He drafted Tom Brady in the sixth round.
- 11:39He took a chance on Tom Brady. If you look at the development
- 11:43of players that he developed over the years, think about it,
- 11:46Rob Gronkowski, Hall of Famer, Vince Wilfork should be Hall of
- 11:50Famer. Julian Edelman is one of the
- 11:53greatest playoff players we've ever seen.
- 11:57Wes Welker, We could go on and on and on.
- 12:01And now look, the one season that Tom Brady was not the
- 12:04starting quarterback because he tore his ACL and he was out for
- 12:07the season, Matt Castle was 11 game winner, 11 game winner and
- 12:15earned himself a contract with Kansas City after that.
- 12:20Bill Belichick is the mastermind of the secondary.
- 12:24If you remember those giant teams in the 80s and the early
- 12:2790s, who do you think was the guy that kind of transformed
- 12:32secondaries to really prototypically stop top end
- 12:37offensive teams? It was Bill Belichick.
- 12:40Bill Belichick was the reason why the Giants won their second
- 12:44championship, which is was early in the early 90s.
- 12:48Everything Bill Belichick has touched when it came to the NFL
- 12:52besides the Browns, because everybody that touches the
- 12:55Browns don't do well. But everything besides the
- 12:58Browns, Bill Belichick has been successful.
- 13:01Everything. Now, everybody's gone back and
- 13:04forth with his drafts over the last five years with the
- 13:07Patriots. That's fine.
- 13:09Christian Gonzalez was his last draft pick.
- 13:11He's been pretty damn good. This is a man that comes from a
- 13:17football family. His father coach college, his
- 13:21father coach North Carolina. His father wrote a book about
- 13:26drafting and obviously developing players.
- 13:30This man is not just a teacher, not just a personality, not a
- 13:35guy that you just want to hate. This man has an understanding of
- 13:41the game of football more than I can say about any coach I've
- 13:46ever seen in my time of watching football.
- 13:49And the fact that the NFL committee would not give this
- 13:55guy the generosity to be a first ballot Hall of Fame is shameful.
- 14:00Absolutely shameful. I don't want to hear from the
- 14:02Patriot players. I want to hear it from the
- 14:04players that played against Bill Belichick.
- 14:07I want to hear from Ben Roethlisberger, who said
- 14:11something, Peyton Manning who said something, Eli Manning who
- 14:16said something. These are the guys that Bill
- 14:20Belichick had to play against either in championships or in
- 14:24regular season games and playoffs.
- 14:28His success didn't just come from the Patriots organization
- 14:34or Robert Kraft. If Robert Kraft didn't hire Bill
- 14:39Belichick, his success of this franchise probably wouldn't have
- 14:43even come close to where it's become as an elite team in all
- 14:49of professional sports. When you think of the New
- 14:51England Patriots now in the last 30 years, you can compare them
- 14:56to teams like the Lakers, like the Yankees, organizations that
- 15:03are very well respected, organizations that are built
- 15:07around winning. Look, the New England Patriots
- 15:10are in the Super Bowl this year. Super Bowl 60 is hosted in San
- 15:15Francisco. It's not Bill Belichick's team,
- 15:19but Mike Rabel, who coached Mike Rabel.
- 15:23Bill Belichick, who drafted Mike Rabel, Bill Belichick.
- 15:29Think about this. If you look at success and
- 15:35success is not easy in the NFL, when you think of a coach with
- 15:4120 years under his belt as a as a head coach of one team, there
- 15:47are only two coaches that just stepped down, well got fired,
- 15:52Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh that have coached their teams as
- 16:00long or almost as long as Bill Belichick in the last century.
- 16:06Think about that. Not Bill Parcells, not Tom
- 16:11Coughlin, not any of those great coaches I mentioned, Giant
- 16:16coaches, but a lot of great ones.
- 16:21Most of these guys, Jimmie Johnson, never coached the
- 16:25Cowboys. More than less than actually
- 16:28less than 10 years. When you have that kind of
- 16:32success, division championships, AFC championships, Super Bowl
- 16:39championships, and you look, yeah, you're going to point your
- 16:43fingers to the players. Tom Brady is, you could argue,
- 16:46the greatest quarterback to ever play this game.
- 16:49He probably is. You could argue that every great
- 16:54quarterback needs a great coach. Joe Montana, who was his coach?
- 16:59Speedy Bill Walls. Ben Roethlisberger, who was his
- 17:03coach. Bill Cower, then Mike Tomlin.
- 17:06Eli Manning, who was his coach, Coughlin, Peyton Manning, who
- 17:09was his coach, Dungey. Think about it.
- 17:15When you think of success of an organization, you need that guy.
- 17:19You need the guy that is going to speak up when the media is
- 17:22going to attack, which he didn't.
- 17:25And you're also going to want to hear the guy's mouth, even if it
- 17:29comes out the wrong way. I don't care when I when I when
- 17:34I read all these different stories and all these different
- 17:37writers coming out and saying that people are shocked.
- 17:40I'm not shocked. A lot of things have happened
- 17:43over the last couple of years that has hurt Bill Belichick. 1.
- 17:50He decided to part ways after he got let go by the Patriots to go
- 17:55to college football. Now he, he had an opportunity
- 17:58maybe to get that Atlanta job and it wasn't his fault.
- 18:01Atlanta decided to go another way.
- 18:03Raheem Morris, who's now looking for another job.
- 18:07Bill Belichick then decided to go and coach college football.
- 18:12But while he was doing that, Bill Belichick is dating a 24
- 18:16year old beautiful woman. Some guys would look up to Bill
- 18:20Belichick because he's doing that.
- 18:21But NFL and the way the NFL works, they're probably, you
- 18:27know, guys like Bill Polian or some of these committee guys
- 18:31that are probably in their 60s or 70s and they've been with
- 18:34their wives for like 40-50 years.
- 18:38They don't like that. And I'm telling you, I know,
- 18:41obviously. Did Bill Belichick cheat
- 18:44Spygate? Yes.
- 18:46Did the NFL confiscate, confiscate all the video after
- 18:50that so nobody can see the video?
- 18:52Yes. Was Bill Belichick behind it?
- 18:54Yes, Deflategate, I don't think it was a gate of anything, but
- 18:59nevertheless, Bill Belichick was the coach.
- 19:02He was a part of it. So of course, with John Harbaugh
- 19:06complaining about all the different things that he was
- 19:08complaining about, because Bill Belichick found ways to run his
- 19:13defense in his offense, which was legal at the time, it didn't
- 19:18say it in the rule book that he couldn't do it.
- 19:21It pissed off John Harbaugh and then John Harbaugh reached out
- 19:24to Indianapolis and obviously said what he felt, said what he
- 19:30said about the deflate deflated balls and that the Indianapolis
- 19:34should investigate it. And they did.
- 19:36And I remember that was, I think, if I'm not mistaken,
- 19:38Andrew Lux last. Year, that was his second to
- 19:40last year and I think that was that was like a 44 to 7 blowout.
- 19:45Like, OK, even if you play football, it's a really good
- 19:47matter that much of that game. The fact here is you can't hate
- 19:54somebody because he wins. He can't.
- 19:58As a Jet fan, all you Jet fans out there that are listening to
- 20:01my take care, of course you're going to hate him.
- 20:04He decided to not take the Jet stop to to go to the Patriots
- 20:08and look, did he make the wrong decision?
- 20:11The answer would be no. He made the right decision.
- 20:15He went to an organization he felt he had a better chance to
- 20:19succeed in. Yeah.
- 20:23Does does that mean that the the thought that Bill Belichick and
- 20:27and what he did with to The Jets organization was right?
- 20:30No. Does that mean that the Rams and
- 20:34the Rams should have after the fact that he cheated when I was
- 20:37one of the greatest teams, one of the greatest offensive teams
- 20:40we've ever seen? Kurt Warner, Tori Holt, those
- 20:44type of players. I mean, they had one of the best
- 20:47running games, one of the best offensive lines.
- 20:49They had three offensive lineman that are inducted into the Hall
- 20:52of Fame. That the practice.
- 20:53They had a whole team could be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
- 20:56Hall of Fame. That's how good they were.
- 20:59They lost against a new New England Patriot team that was
- 21:02very young, a young Tom Brady. Did they cheat?
- 21:06Yeah. You only cheat if you get
- 21:11caught, and he got caught. They lost the first round draft
- 21:18pick. They had to spend some money.
- 21:19Not a lot of money, but enough. And Bill Belichick obviously was
- 21:24behind it. If anything, you would look at
- 21:27him as a genius because he changed the game.
- 21:33The dual tight ends, Who do you think first did that?
- 21:36Everybody's going to give O'Brien all the credit for that.
- 21:40But who hired O'Brien? Bill Belichick, Think about it,
- 21:47a transitional game every decade, every 10 years, Bill
- 21:52Belichick found ways to win. He never had to wait more than
- 21:58what I think five years to play in a in a Super Bowl.
- 22:02The guy was always fighting to play in the Super Bowl.
- 22:06How many AFC games, AFC Championships he was in?
- 22:10Eight in a row. The only guy I can remember that
- 22:14was in 8 championship games is LeBron James.
- 22:18Is LeBron James a first ballot Hall of Famer right now in the
- 22:22NBA? If he retired tomorrow, the
- 22:23answer would be yes. But you know what?
- 22:28Nobody wants to give it committee.
- 22:30You don't want to give him any credit.
- 22:31You know why? Because he doesn't play on the
- 22:32football field. Oh, he's just calling the plays.
- 22:37I believe the hardest thing and the hardest sport to coach is
- 22:42football. You look at all the sports,
- 22:45hockey, basketball, baseball, there's just so many signs
- 22:52you're going to put up in baseball.
- 22:54There's just so many calls. You're going to put your hands
- 22:56up in basketball and hockey, football, there could be 7080
- 23:03plays in a game and you got to teach these guys.
- 23:09You got to get them into shape the offseason, OTAs coached them
- 23:14up. And with all that, Tom Brady was
- 23:21a first ballot Hall of Fame with all his success and he was very
- 23:25successful. Tom Brady won seven Super Bowls,
- 23:28one with Tampa. People would argue he's the
- 23:31greatest quarterback of all time because of his his success in
- 23:35the playoffs and his championships.
- 23:38Who was the coach of the six out of those seven games?
- 23:43Bill Belichick not only is the greatest coach in football
- 23:49history, he could go down as the greatest coach in sports
- 23:54history. Yeah, you heard it.
- 23:57The fact that I watched and I I said it on in like Flynn last
- 24:00week when I was picking the coach.
- 24:01That, according to that Bleacher Report, like college football
- 24:04historian. They had him at 2121 Bill
- 24:10Belichick. I would take Bill Belichick over
- 24:13Phil Jackson to win 6 Super Bowls.
- 24:19One coach has never done that before. 1 coach has never even
- 24:24Vince Lombardi, who won five championships.
- 24:27They weren't Super Bowl 5 championships, never won as much
- 24:32as Bill Belichick. Vince Lombardi, people argue, is
- 24:37the greatest coach in professional sports history.
- 24:40In that list on Bleacher Report, he was ranked second under John
- 24:46Wooden, who's the greatest college coach in basketball
- 24:50history. Think about it and you're going
- 24:54to not even put this guy in the top ten.
- 24:56It's shameful. And the NFL should, absolutely.
- 25:02I don't know what the NFL should do on this.
- 25:04I honestly have no idea how to explain this.
- 25:08It doesn't make sense. None of it does.
- 25:11It doesn't. You don't like somebody.
- 25:14Well, oh, the writers don't like them.
- 25:15Oh, the committee don't like them.
- 25:16So we're going to have them sit for a year and then we'll put
- 25:18them in. What does that do?
- 25:21That just pisses them off. Look what they did to Terrell
- 25:24Owens. Terrell Owens to me is just a
- 25:30little bit under Jerry Rice. Some people say Jerry Rice is
- 25:34the greatest football player to ever tie up his cleats.
- 25:39A lot of people think that he's better than any quarterback to
- 25:43play it in this league. And if you lick, if you look at
- 25:51when you're trying to compare these two guys, what are their
- 25:55numbers? What what is different about
- 25:56these guys numbers? It's not by much.
- 26:00Terrell Owens obviously is a little bit under Jerry Rice, but
- 26:06absolutely a Hall of Famer. And that's that's the problem
- 26:11right now. How do you vote these guys in?
- 26:14What do you look for Is it wins championships?
- 26:18Everybody says if you don't win a championship, you're not a
- 26:20first ballot Hall of Famer. OK, let me ask you guys a
- 26:25question, and this is a good question.
- 26:29Drew Brees is up to be in the Hall of Fame this year, right?
- 26:35What? He's won how many championships?
- 26:39He's won one. Is he a first ballot Hall of
- 26:43Famer over Bill Belichick? Not a chance in hell.
- 26:47And I love you, Drew. Not a chance in hell.
- 26:54I'm sorry. I'm not going to sit here and
- 26:56beat around the Bush Drew Brees, as good as he was, it Drew Brees
- 27:01would not be Drew Brees if he didn't go to New Orleans and be
- 27:04coached by Sean Payton, where he built his offense around Drew
- 27:08Brees. And Sean Payne's an offensive
- 27:12coordinator. Let's ask everybody, what is
- 27:16Bill Belichick? He is a defensive coordinator
- 27:21who turn who turn Tom Brady into the greatest quarterback to ever
- 27:27play this game. Think about it, a defensive
- 27:30coordinator, we hear it all the time.
- 27:32Fish talks about it all the time, that defensive
- 27:35coordinators are probably the defensive coordinators are the
- 27:39easiest play callers. It's easy.
- 27:43It's the offense that's hard to coach.
- 27:45It's the offense to try to figure out the the under the
- 27:48lingo on the speaking and and getting these guys in the right
- 27:52position. Bill Belichick was the coach of
- 27:57all these successful teams. Tom Brady's game changing games
- 28:02was because of Bill Belichick play calling.
- 28:04How about this? Some of the greatest football
- 28:08seasons we've ever seen a quarterback have.
- 28:10And I remember the Randy Morris year with Tom Brady breaking
- 28:14records. Who was the head coach of that
- 28:16team? It was Bill Belichick.
- 28:21Think about it. And you're not going to put this
- 28:24man as a first ballot Hall of Fame Famer and and to be
- 28:28compared to some of the greats. Bill Parcells, was he a first
- 28:32ballot Hall of Famer? Let me ask you guys a question,
- 28:37who do you think was a better coach, Bill Belichick or Bill
- 28:40Parcells? How about this, the 2
- 28:42championships that Bill Parcells won?
- 28:46Was it Bill Parcells that won those championships and the
- 28:49calling the play calling from Bill Parcells?
- 28:52Or was it Bill Belichick's defense that won those
- 28:54championships? That's where the Bills won.
- 28:57It was Bill Belichick, Giant fans.
- 29:00You're not going to be. This is not something to beat
- 29:02around a Bush about. We understand what it takes to
- 29:07win. I'm a Jet fan and I never see
- 29:10wins. I see losses, I see losers.
- 29:14I see quarterback after quarterback, coach after coach,
- 29:17GM after GM. And you Patriot fans and all you
- 29:21fans out there that couldn't stand the Evil Empire, we call
- 29:24the Patriots win year in, year out.
- 29:28That guy who we couldn't stand Belly, I used to call him
- 29:33because he used to give me a stomach ache every time I
- 29:35watched him, wearing his his little hoodie, his short
- 29:40sleeves, walking up and up and down the sidelines in the cold,
- 29:45in the snow, win after win, championship after championship,
- 29:53laughing after laughter. And what I mean by laughing is
- 29:59the only time you've seen this guy smile is when he wins the
- 30:01championship. And if he can even peek a smile
- 30:04when he does that, it's pretty amazing.
- 30:08The man stood for championships. The man store stood for the game
- 30:13of football. And this guy doesn't go in as a
- 30:15first ballot Hall of Famer. It doesn't make sense.
- 30:21Devin Mccourty is going to be a Hall of Famer, a safety from
- 30:26Rutgers. There are not many guys that
- 30:31come from Rutgers football that become an elite player at that
- 30:35position and who developed that kid?
- 30:42Bill Belichick It's, it's problematic when you think about
- 30:47when I'm, I'm bringing up all these different things and I'm
- 30:50trying to slice it because it's like a piece of bread and, and a
- 30:53loaf of bread. You know, if, if you're a hungry
- 30:56guy, you could probably go through a half a loaf of bread
- 30:58with three sandwiches. All right, a pie is 8 slices,
- 31:03right? Bill Belichick, think about
- 31:09this. If you think about a pie and
- 31:11there's 8 slices, He coached this team four years or I'm
- 31:17sorry, 44 pizza pies, more than probably half the coaches in the
- 31:24NFL and in NFL history think about that.
- 31:27I would say 3. I'll I'll take away 433 more
- 31:31pizza pies than most coaches in the NFL.
- 31:37I just don't get it. I don't understand the reasoning
- 31:40behind it. A lot of people want to put the
- 31:42point their fingers at Bill Polian or this guy or that guy
- 31:47or this girl or that girl. I don't think it's anybody but
- 31:50the committee as a whole that didn't like this man, doesn't
- 31:54respect this man with his success and have reasons behind
- 31:58of hate because of his relationships over the years
- 32:02with Roger Goodell. Robert Kraft throwing him under
- 32:05the bus after the fact that he decided to part ways with him.
- 32:11And Robert Kraft probably is bitter that he chose Bill
- 32:16Parcells. I mean, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 32:18Bill Belichick over Tom Brady. Tom Brady goes over there to the
- 32:22Buccaneers and in his first years wins the Super Bowl.
- 32:24And ever since Tom Brady left, he doesn't win a Super Bowl or
- 32:28even appear back in the Super Bowl.
- 32:34I don't care. There's nothing to nothing in
- 32:36this story that would make anybody smile, even if you hate
- 32:39Bill Belichick. And there are a lot of Jet fans
- 32:41on social media that have come out and said this doesn't make
- 32:45any sense, and I'm one of them. It doesn't.
- 32:49There's nothing that the NFL could try to sell me now today
- 32:54to tell me that Bill Belichick isn't a first ballot Hall of
- 32:56Famer. Because if I did and I was with
- 32:58that committee, I'd smack them all in the face.
- 33:00I'd wake him up. I'd dump water on him.
- 33:04What I get some like what are they like vampires or something?
- 33:07Maybe I get some prayed water so if I throw it at them, they'll
- 33:11melt or something. It it's just, it's it's
- 33:15horrible. It's horrible how the NFL does
- 33:20not respect the guys that have transitioned their game, have
- 33:24brought their game to the higher levels.
- 33:27We've never seen this. And I don't think we'll ever see
- 33:29a coach this successful ever in the NFL.
- 33:32Ever. These accomplishments will never
- 33:38be broken. Ever.
- 33:40Just like though, we'll never see a Tom Brady, we'll never see
- 33:43a Michael Jordan, We'll never see a Wayne Gretzky, We'll never
- 33:48see a Muhammad Ali. We'll never see a Serena
- 33:54Williams. We'll never see a Tiger Woods.
- 34:01These guys transition their sports.
- 34:05Bill Belichick transition the coaching game.
- 34:10Not just in the NFL. In all of sports.
- 34:14Very well said. And he also did it as AGM too,
- 34:18and that's what a lot of people are forgetting.
- 34:19And other coaches have tried to duplicate that.
- 34:21Chip Kelly, Bill O'Brien, like you mentioned, he tried to do
- 34:24that with the Texans and it badly failed.
- 34:27And for whatever reasons that you want to like dupe Bill
- 34:31Belichick out of being a first ballot Hall of Famer makes no
- 34:33sense. And it wouldn't surprise me if
- 34:35Robert Kraft maybe like he did when he was putting in denial
- 34:40interviews for the Falcons, all his other teams to get him a
- 34:43head coaching job. Who says he does not connect
- 34:45with those voters? Oh, I want to get him first over
- 34:47Bill Belichick to make a point. So who said Robert Kraft
- 34:50couldn't be behind that either? But that's a whole other
- 34:52conspiracy theory. I'm not going to go down as
- 34:54much. I want to mention those two
- 34:55arguments that people want to make against Belichick, one of
- 34:57which is obviously his relationship.
- 34:58Now, that's not going to impact anything when the college
- 35:02football and Pro Football Hall of Fame are not connected.
- 35:04It's not like basketball where NBA and college coaches are all
- 35:07in there and college players, NBA players are all in at the
- 35:09same time. This is your two separate Hall
- 35:11of Fame. So if you want to hold it
- 35:12against him that he's dating a 24 year old, it is a weird
- 35:15relationship, I understand. But you want to hold that
- 35:17against him. It doesn't work for the NFL sake
- 35:20as much. And then the other argument is,
- 35:22oh, when Tom Brady left to go to Tampa, he won a championship.
- 35:26OK, Bill Belichick coached Cam Newton when he was washed and
- 35:30Mack Jones. How many coaches are going to
- 35:32win Super Bowls with that? Good luck with that.
- 35:35Tom Brady had Bruce Arians, who was a top 10 coach in the NFL at
- 35:37the time, and good offensive skill players around him in
- 35:40Tampa. Two time coach of the year.
- 35:41Yes, I yeah, again, maybe even fringe top five coach at that
- 35:45time, you could say top ten, top five, whatever.
- 35:47He was a quality coach, one of the best offensive coaches in
- 35:49the NFL at that time and had Mike Evans say Chris Godwin.
- 35:53He had good tight ends. He had a good offensive line and
- 35:57you're going to say, oh, Tom Brady was the only reason that
- 35:58they won a championship? No, it's not the.
- 36:00Case also think about it. Think about how many offensive
- 36:03lineman came and gone and we're successful with the Bill
- 36:07Belichick offense and then they leave and absolute failures.
- 36:10Oh yeah, so many of them. Think about it.
- 36:13There are so many players that have played in this offense, a
- 36:15play in this defense, and then they left.
- 36:17They got their big contracts gone elsewhere and failed.
- 36:21Never were as successful than they were when they were they
- 36:25were with the Patriots. Think about that.
- 36:27That's because of Bill Belichick's game planning.
- 36:30And we've had guys on the show saying that Bill Belichick is
- 36:33one of the coolest, one of the funniest guys you'll ever meet.
- 36:36Yeah, he's got the dry humor off the field, yeah, but.
- 36:39But nobody would know that because he can't stand the media
- 36:41and he doesn't ever release any information out to the media
- 36:45which would hurt his team or hurt any of his players.
- 36:48Yeah. And there's a point that it gets
- 36:49to just pettiness for some of these writers.
- 36:51I again, that you we talk about with baseball, like you can't
- 36:54have that reflect for somebody that is a first ballot type guy.
- 36:58Bill Belichick I think is the greatest head coach ever.
- 37:01If you want to say he's second or third, like that's if you're
- 37:03two or three, you're still a first ballot hall.
- 37:05He's. The greatest?
- 37:05I think he is too. I hated him too.
- 37:07I hate it. I used to make, oh, it's
- 37:09Lombardi. Lombardi and Jeff.
- 37:10We have Jeff on the phone. We'll get Jeff on in just a
- 37:13second. I, I've gone back and forth with
- 37:15Jeff over the over the years. It's been over 14 years I've
- 37:19been back and forth and Jeff, as he would say he's a Jet fan, but
- 37:24he has been a Patriot fan his whole career since he since he
- 37:28was a kid. And I've gone back and forth
- 37:30with him saying Lombardi, Lombardi, Lombardi, I'm sorry
- 37:33Lombardi couldn't itch Bill Belichick's ass.
- 37:36All right, I'm sorry. And I, Vince Lombardi, I never
- 37:39got a chance to see him coach. Vince Lombardi was nowhere close
- 37:42to the success story that Bill Belichick built over there with
- 37:46the New England Patriots. He was an amazing play caller
- 37:50and I don't care what anybody says.
- 37:52Oh, well, he didn't call the offense.
- 37:53What are you talking about? He said, hey, coach, you think
- 37:55he's not? First of all, and I'll say this,
- 37:58McDaniel, who hired him, who coached them up?
- 38:04It was Bill Belichick. Every one of these guys,
- 38:07O'Brien, every one of these guys he hired who coached them up,
- 38:13Eric Mangini decided to go and coach The Jets.
- 38:16What did Bill Belichick do? He took his stuff because he
- 38:20didn't want his guys to ever coach the New York Jets because
- 38:23he couldn't stand the organization.
- 38:24I know the story. He took all of Eric Magini stuff
- 38:28and he took it and put it in a box and put it outside the
- 38:31offense and locked the office and change the locks.
- 38:35That's Bill Belichick. Like it or not.
- 38:38That's who he is. And you, you might not like him,
- 38:41and I'm a Jet fan. I couldn't stand him.
- 38:43I know no Giant fan likes Bill Belichick, but you have to
- 38:46respect him. You have to.
- 38:49And if it wasn't for Bill Belichick Giant fans, you
- 38:51wouldn't have. You wouldn't have had two
- 38:54championships in the 80s and the 90s.
- 38:57Quickly, before we get to fun Oh godfest, what do you?
- 39:00Say, yeah, like I respect Bill Belichick.
- 39:03I, I, I don't, I didn't hate Bill Belichick.
- 39:05Jets fans hated Bill Belichick for obvious reasons.
- 39:08He left them high and dry and then was killed him in the
- 39:11division for the next two decades.
- 39:13The Giants, we beat them both times in the Super Bowl.
- 39:16And he got us 2 Super Bowls in the in the 80s and 1990.
- 39:19I got, I got nothing but great things to say about Bill
- 39:23Belichick. But you said you wouldn't get
- 39:25into conspiracy theories, Speedy.
- 39:27I'll do that for you real quick before we get, I guess Jeff's
- 39:30calling in. Yeah, he's on Robert Kraft.
- 39:33Robert Kraft getting in over Belichick would be the craziest
- 39:38thing, and I think it's going to happen now because there were
- 39:40only five guys on the list. Belichick's not in.
- 39:43He's not one of them. Who else?
- 39:45Were they really putting in all those other three?
- 39:47Or are they going to punish Robert Kraft too?
- 39:51Or was this part of No. I feel like a big craft.
- 39:55It feels like there was some of that.
- 39:56The Bill Polian stuff is a little like too Kaiser soze ish
- 40:00for me. Like, oh, he like.
- 40:02Apparently Ryan Lee came out and he was one of the ones that
- 40:05apparently did too. Who cares what role?
- 40:08Necessary trust. Me all I know it's he's like,
- 40:11well, maybe he was telling people not to vote and then he
- 40:13voted for him anyway so that they couldn't trace it back to
- 40:16him. I heard that today.
- 40:18Belichick always knew when to give up on guys.
- 40:20Maybe a year early, but sometimes he gave up on them
- 40:23when they were. The only position.
- 40:25Giants took Nate Solder speedy, Remember that one You said the.
- 40:29Only position he had problems drafting is wide receiver.
- 40:33That's. It you know why?
- 40:35Because Coughlin was the wide receivers coach back in the day
- 40:38on that those Giants teams and Coughlin always had the best
- 40:41receivers and it was always the best competition between the two
- 40:46of them. They said in practice in those
- 40:47days. And then obviously you saw
- 40:50Coughlin was the only one that could hang with him that
- 40:53undefeated season until it was Game 18 and one.
- 40:56And then obviously in the second Super Bowl, the Giants won as
- 40:59well with Coughlin. But just before you let Jeff in,
- 41:02I had to say I never said coaching defense is easy or
- 41:05calling defense easy. It's just like you got the
- 41:07dollar menu type of play sheet you.
- 41:09Said it's a lot easier. It's a lot easier because the
- 41:12size of the play sheet is so much smaller than what you have
- 41:17for offense. There's so many more things.
- 41:19Remember McAdoo had like The Cheesecake Factory menu of play
- 41:24calls. It had like a million play calls
- 41:26on it. It's just a lot of defensive
- 41:28coordinators they have. That's a lot of that, like
- 41:30internalized. Probably.
- 41:32Just need to get a few things out, you know, like some like
- 41:35advanced blitz is like Wink, I bet has just like a little index
- 41:39card with like his blitz packages for the weekend.
- 41:42And that's all he needs. In fact, I've seen him do it.
- 41:45So it's that's that's kind of the difference between offense
- 41:47and defense. But let's hear with this crazy,
- 41:50this crazy Jeffrey that in Florida.
- 41:53All right, Jeff from Tampa. What's up, buddy?
- 41:57Errol, we have gone back and forth forever on this, and I'm a
- 42:02reformed Patriots fan now. I'm just like you.
- 42:04I'm a Jets guy now, huge Jets guy, right?
- 42:08But it's good to see you come around on this a little bit,
- 42:12right? Because it's like he's
- 42:13undeniably the best coach that's ever coached in the NFL.
- 42:16No question. No question.
- 42:18Like he's. Coached in the hardest of times,
- 42:22like all these other guys that compare him to, Lombardi never
- 42:25had to deal with free agency. You got a guy, you owned him,
- 42:29right? Belichick has survived all the
- 42:31storms. And the cheating thing I don't
- 42:34even buy into, right? Because that's a joke.
- 42:36If you go back to Jimmy Johnson's tweet from a day ago,
- 42:39he goes cheating. I used to do that every week.
- 42:42So they were all doing it right. So this and this is just one of
- 42:47the most ridiculous things I've ever seen.
- 42:49If he's not a Hall of Famer, who is?
- 42:52I, I will tell you right now, everybody on the ballot, I
- 42:55would, I would take Bill Belichick over all of them, Drew
- 42:58Brees, every one of them. This guy has done things for
- 43:01this league that nobody will ever accomplish.
- 43:04I don't think they'll any, they'll ever be a successful
- 43:07coach, as successful as Bill Belichick.
- 43:10The the success story and in a division that would at at some
- 43:14points were arguably one of the best divisions of football.
- 43:18The Jets weren't always bad. Miami wasn't always bad.
- 43:22Buffalo wasn't as always bad. All these teams were good at
- 43:26some point of those 20 years. And remember, Rex Ryan played
- 43:31against Bill Belichick. We've seen this.
- 43:33We we've seen great, you know, great games between both of
- 43:36these guys. And even Rex Ryan, when he heard
- 43:39this, what Rex Ryan said about this, he said this is an
- 43:42absolute catastrophe. How could the NFL and the
- 43:45committee absolutely agree to this and not put this man?
- 43:49I'm not saying Robert Kraft doesn't deserve some of the
- 43:51credit, but guess what? Who do you think disposed of
- 43:55those videos? It wasn't Bill Belichick.
- 43:57Hold on, hold on. What does Craft deserve credit
- 43:59for? If you look at if you look at
- 44:02the the league report card that went around, the Patriots have
- 44:05the worst facilities, the worst stadium, the worst travel.
- 44:09They got F for almost everything.
- 44:11And then when you look at the spending, the actual spending in
- 44:14the league, Robert Kraft has spent the least over the last 20
- 44:17years. So what are we giving them
- 44:18credits for? No, I understand that.
- 44:21And obviously Jeff, a person that has what we say has rooted
- 44:26for them in the past as he became a a new full blown Jet
- 44:30formed Jets fan. Yeah, I'm sorry, reborn, reborn
- 44:34Jet fan. Obviously the thought here is is
- 44:38that Robert Kraft is is Roger Goodell's best friend or one of
- 44:42his good friends. And because of that, he is going
- 44:45to be inducted as a first ballot Hall of Famer.
- 44:47And that's the only reason why. And I do believe that there is
- 44:50some kind of cahoots with these two guys, these two men who fish
- 44:54together. There's 100% of conspiracy
- 44:58theory going on, right? Because we, we've talked about
- 45:00this a long time ago, right? But if you're telling me the
- 45:04Patriots were a 20 year dynasty, right, who's in the Hall of
- 45:10Fame, it's Tom Brady. And who they They won't let in
- 45:13Willie McGinnis, they won't let in Vince Wilforth, they won't
- 45:16let in any of these other players.
- 45:18So you're telling me they have a dynasty but nobody's any good?
- 45:21It makes no sense. And I agree with you, Jeff.
- 45:24There were a lot of great Ty Law made it into the Hall of Fame.
- 45:27But, and by the way, who drafted Ty Law?
- 45:29I mean, nobody wants to give any any credit to this man, this man
- 45:35who has really re changed the game, defensive play calling.
- 45:40He is the guy. He's the king.
- 45:42He's the guy that what he did. What did Bill Belichick always
- 45:45do? He took out your best player.
- 45:47He made sure that I'm going to take out your best player.
- 45:50You got to beat me with your secondary players, your third,
- 45:52your third players. If you beat me, well, there you
- 45:55go. Get you have the chance to beat
- 45:57me. But they got to play.
- 45:58They got to play at a top level and they never did.
- 46:01And Bill Belichick was the king of doing that, finding ways to
- 46:04beat teams. And by the way, Peyton Manning
- 46:08over the years has said the hardest team to play against was
- 46:12a Rex Ryan defense and a Bill Belichick defense.
- 46:15Let's think, think about that. Arguably the greatest
- 46:18quarterback of, well, you can argue the 2 greatest
- 46:20quarterbacks of this era was Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
- 46:25And Peyton Manning came out and said the only two defensive guys
- 46:29that he couldn't play very well against is Bill Belichick and
- 46:32Rex Ryan. Think about that.
- 46:34And this guy is in the 1st. And Rex Ryan doesn't even itch
- 46:38Bill Belichick's ass. He doesn't even come close.
- 46:41He. Just puts a tattoo on he doesn't
- 46:42even come. Close.
- 46:43That's right, he probably. There's something, there's
- 46:45definitely something fishy here going on, and I wouldn't put it
- 46:48past the conspiracy theory that Bill, but Bill Polian found
- 46:51eleven other guys to vote no so he could vote yes too.
- 46:54You're literally talking about a guy that was just the biggest
- 46:57bitch that had to create new rules to beat Bill Belichick,
- 47:02right? Like he was the one going and
- 47:03complaining the whole time with the Colts and all these other
- 47:06teenies. He's a She's such a cry baby.
- 47:09He's a sly man and again, a slither, as they call it.
- 47:13And obviously Bill, and that's another guy.
- 47:17The Jets have hired Bill Polian over the years to hire their
- 47:19coaches. Yes, it hasn't worked for The
- 47:21Jets. But he's another guy though,
- 47:24like they come out a couple of days later to say that oh, he
- 47:26voted for him. Then why did he change his Story
- 47:293 times? Yeah.
- 47:31I don't know. I don't know, Jeff.
- 47:33I, I I don't. Mention setting in that series
- 47:36that the Jew can't A can't remember who we voted for and
- 47:38then B was backtracking it and then didn't know.
- 47:41Come on. It makes no sense.
- 47:43None of. These He's a snake, you know,
- 47:45he's an absolute snake. 100 percent, 100% a snake and and
- 47:50again the NFL everybody on that committee should be ashamed of
- 47:53themselves should be ashamed I'll.
- 47:55Give you another one that makes Belichick the GOAT, right?
- 47:58This dude actually read the rule book and did shit that had John
- 48:03Harbaugh on the sidelines in tears, crying because he didn't
- 48:07know the rules that Bill Belichick did because he
- 48:09actually read the rule book. I mentioned that.
- 48:11I mention it. And then it was John Harbaugh
- 48:14that reached out to Indianapolis and told Indianapolis, oh,
- 48:18they're deflating the balls, go get them.
- 48:20And which is? Another farce which is a whole
- 48:22nother made-up story. Yeah, it was John Harbaugh.
- 48:25I just so everybody does it or they haven't watched football
- 48:28too long. It was the one.
- 48:30John Harbaugh was the one that reached out to Indianapolis and
- 48:33created that whole deflate gate. It was John Harbaugh who now is
- 48:36the head coach of the New York Giants, by the way.
- 48:38So I I. Remember the rules there.
- 48:41No, unfortunately, and I'm not saying John Horrible isn't a
- 48:44nice guy and he's not talented at what he does.
- 48:46It just it it everybody is jealous of his success.
- 48:50And Bill Belichick has always gone out and and has been
- 48:53successful. And if you give Belichick a
- 48:55little bit more time, he'll probably be successful in the in
- 48:58the NCAA too. If he could just keep that woman
- 49:00into Yeah, that's. Not going to happen.
- 49:03And keep her, you know, away from the field, I mean, or
- 49:05something. I mean, that's not.
- 49:07That's not going to happen. He's not.
- 49:10Well, I, I think I, I will say this, that by next year I think
- 49:14he will get another coaching job in the NFLII think that.
- 49:17You'll, I don't know if they want to do that either.
- 49:19He's like at the age that if they hire him, they're going to
- 49:22just have to fire him in three years anyways and rebuild again.
- 49:26Most organizations don't want to do that.
- 49:27They want to fight. Everyone's looking for the next
- 49:30Bill Belichick in the sense that they're looking for the guy to
- 49:33have a 10 or 20 year run with. You're not having that with Old
- 49:38Bill. I agree with you, Jeff.
- 49:40Jeff, thank you for calling, Bud.
- 49:42And then one last point for you, Errol.
- 49:44I totally disagree that coaching defense is easier than coaching.
- 49:48Offense. Why is that?
- 49:50I can. I can come out and start a game
- 49:53and I could have all week just scripted plays, right?
- 49:56You can't script the defense and say it all.
- 49:58No matter what. This is what we're doing.
- 50:00No matter what personnel another team runs in, you can.
- 50:02Script one drive, Jeff. It was so great talking to you,
- 50:05Jeff. We love you, Jeff.
- 50:07Thank you for calling, Bud. Anyways, that's it for a show.
- 50:09Ladies and gentlemen. I want to give a shout out to

- 50:55crazy, crazy, crazy day, man. Stress all stress today.
- 50:59And like I said, I, I, I made the wrong decision.
- 51:03That's all I got to say. Oh, really, really wrong
- 51:06decision. I just put my head back.
- 51:07I seriously probably would have felt Harold.
- 51:09Saying one of these, he's leaning.
- 51:10Back I was leaning back, I was closing my eyes I tried and
- 51:13foyer, you know it's so funny because foyer when he was
- 51:17smirking and stuff like that I know he was watching me close my
- 51:19eyes so he didn't want to say that but I I it's it's tiring
- 51:23man. I've never felt like this
- 51:24before, so it feels like I'm like on a muscle relaxer and I
- 51:27can't even like I'm surprised, like my tongue's not hanging out
- 51:32of my mouth right now. Anyways, that's it.
- 51:36We will see you on Monday. Until then, have a good weekend.
- 51:40Enjoy. Well, there's no football on
- 51:43this weekend because we have a, you know, Super Bowl 60 next
- 51:46weekend and, and Nathan's flying over there.
- 51:48So enjoy the ride and enjoy the show.
- 51:51What, you mean we got the Pro Bowl this week, don't we?
- 51:53Yeah. Wonderful Pro Bowl flag
- 51:55football. I don't want to watch the door
- 51:56Sanders crash and burn. I mean, he was already on.
- 52:00I mean, Speedy, if you were playing in the Pro Bowl, you
- 52:03wouldn't crash and burn. I mean, come on, these guys.
- 52:05Don't give me something. Don't give me that.
- 52:06It's flag football. It's.
- 52:08What I say it? Was flag football before it was
- 52:10flag football? Yeah, it's, it's the only flag
- 52:13I'm going to be wearing is the one that's going to be up my ass
- 52:15watching it. Anyways, that's it, ladies and
- 52:18gentlemen. Gotta go.
- 52:19Good night. It is the worldwide sports radio
- 52:22network.
