- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 0:04Speaker 1: am six fortys.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Adam Schiff is endorsing Representative Eric Swallwell.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Who the hell is Swallowell?
- 0:18Speaker 4: And even weirder, he's a Democrat from Dublin, Ireland.
- 0:22Speaker 3: I didn't even know if someone from Dublin, Ireland can run.
- 0:24Speaker 5: That would be Dublin, California.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Oh okay, got it, And now handle on the news.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle.
- 0:36Speaker 4: And a good morning everybody, hand all morning group.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Already starting with the haunty.
- 0:43Speaker 4: It is a hookday, Wednesday, the eleventh day of February.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Okay, hello to the crowd. Will Coleschriver, good morning, Good
- 0:52Speaker 3: morning Bill.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Oh wow, the clothing or wearing today makes you look
- 0:56Speaker 4: particularly thin.
- 0:58Speaker 3: You're welcome.
- 0:59Speaker 4: No horse on a straight There's very little you can
- 1:01Speaker 4: do to make yourself looks in by the way, I
- 1:03Speaker 4: just want to point that out. Oh okay, also with
- 1:07Speaker 4: the nicely said also with the same I would say
- 1:13Speaker 4: provenance affliction if you will, Good morning provenance.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Oh I'm like, what that's going back to prove?
- 1:21Speaker 4: That's that's to prove the case we can go back
- 1:24Speaker 4: in time because I have I can certify all the
- 1:28Speaker 4: way back in terms of how you look. We've been
- 1:31Speaker 4: around together for a while.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I will tell you this though, no one that you've
- 1:35Speaker 2: ever called fat has been as heavy as you were.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That is correct.
- 1:39Speaker 4: But now now that I've lost the weight it is,
- 1:43Speaker 4: I now can throw it at back at you.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I'm gonna puttied up soon. And then what are you
- 1:49Speaker 3: gonna do? I'm sorry, I'm gonna have my my guts
- 1:52Speaker 3: tied up. I know. Then I'm gonna have to figure
- 1:53Speaker 3: out some other way to make fun of you. I'll
- 1:54Speaker 3: figure it out. I'm good at this conor good morning
- 2:00Speaker 3: in the morning.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Oh, and there is and with her I Heart hoodie
- 2:06Speaker 4: the sweater. Yep, that's Amy. I'm sorry, I'm looking at Amy.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I always.
- 2:15Speaker 5: Almost three years.
- 2:16Speaker 4: It's going to go on forever. I swear it's going
- 2:18Speaker 4: to go on forever. And by the way, that's not stick.
- 2:20Speaker 4: That's what I do. I just conflate everybody anyway. Uh.
- 2:23Speaker 4: The iHeart sweater which they handed out for free, strangely
- 2:27Speaker 4: enough a couple of three years.
- 2:28Speaker 5: Ago, because they don't do that anymore.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but you can buy.
- 2:32Speaker 5: You can buy stuff on the iHeart merch store.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Great.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Now they don't tell you that you can't actually wash
- 2:39Speaker 4: it or dry clean it or sweating it because all
- 2:41Speaker 4: the colors run.
- 2:42Speaker 3: You know that.
- 2:43Speaker 5: Actually with this one, normally I would they agree, But
- 2:46Speaker 5: this one is actually a good quality sweatshirt.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Some money happened that I don't know where. Yeah, I
- 2:53Speaker 3: have no idea. The swag is nice.
- 2:55Speaker 4: We cannot get a box of pencils here much less
- 3:01Speaker 4: than that kind of story.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I refuse to pay for one. Yeah, and they're not cheap.
- 3:05Speaker 3: What are they charging for those?
- 3:06Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 3:07Speaker 4: But I have one but the wrong size, and so
- 3:10Speaker 4: I gave it to Lindsay. Lindsay loves it. I mean
- 3:12Speaker 4: Lindsay absolutely loves him.
- 3:14Speaker 5: And it's perfect for today's rainy weather.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 4: And she does, however, take duct tape and cover the
- 3:19Speaker 4: logo up and refuses to admit that she has anything
- 3:24Speaker 4: to do with iHeart, mainly because she's married to me.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I have tons of really cute hoodies and stuff from
- 3:28Speaker 3: my last radio station that I can wear. You're in
- 3:30Speaker 3: a real radio station that actually bought you stuff. Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 4: We used to have swag at one time, and Neil
- 3:37Speaker 4: would do all kinds of logos and he would put
- 3:41Speaker 4: statements and fun sayings on the swag actely.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Remember my original office had an entire back wall that
- 3:47Speaker 2: was nothing but swag. You could come in and grab
- 3:49Speaker 2: stuff during the day if you had guests walking through
- 3:53Speaker 2: or whatever, an entire wall. Now you do have ones
- 3:59Speaker 2: with pencils with no never mind, it just says number two.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Confused.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Okay, I didn't get that. By the way, Will's laughing,
- 4:09Speaker 4: But I did not.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Get that number two pencil.
- 4:11Speaker 4: No. I got number two pencil, and you're number two. Okay, okay,
- 4:16Speaker 4: I got it, all right.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I turn for poop being so some of the keys,
- 4:20Speaker 2: they say number one for the pippies, ain't number two.
- 4:23Speaker 4: For the Oh all the emails?
- 4:29Speaker 3: Who gets the email? I think Michelle does, doesn't she?
- 4:32Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 4:34Speaker 2: They got rid of email keep cost out, that's true.
- 4:38Speaker 3: I used to have rid of our phones.
- 4:42Speaker 4: They did when we uh it was a bunch of
- 4:45Speaker 4: years ago when it used to be emails, uh and
- 4:48Speaker 4: mainly postcards and letters. I had a wall of hate
- 4:51Speaker 4: that I kept for years. Remember those remember remember that?
- 4:55Speaker 4: And there were just I mean, it was death threats, uh,
- 4:58Speaker 4: it was anti semitic tropes, it was Hitler was right,
- 5:04Speaker 4: anything to get my eye up, and so I put
- 5:07Speaker 4: him up on the wall. It was my wall of
- 5:09Speaker 4: hate that I went on for a while. It was
- 5:12Speaker 4: very entertaining. All right, what else before we jump into
- 5:16Speaker 4: the mood news. Oh, here it is. On Monday, I
- 5:19Speaker 4: went to workout and I tried to do a sit up,
- 5:25Speaker 4: which I can't do.
- 5:25Speaker 3: By the way, I don't have enough core.
- 5:27Speaker 4: I can't. I literally cannot do a sit up. So
- 5:30Speaker 4: as I'm attempting to do a sit up, this guy
- 5:33Speaker 4: walks past me and he said, don't do sit ups.
- 5:37Speaker 4: And I said, don't worry, I can't and he said,
- 5:39Speaker 4: sit ups are going to really hurt you. I have
- 5:42Speaker 4: two friends, he is saying that have done sit ups
- 5:46Speaker 4: for years. One is in a wheelchair, the other one
- 5:48Speaker 4: uses a walker. So here he is, I guess late seventies,
- 5:52Speaker 4: early eighties, spry, bouncing around, just wrecked, sharp as attack.
- 5:59Speaker 4: And he said that when you get older, you can't
- 6:01Speaker 4: do this. And I said, yeah, I'm old. How old
- 6:04Speaker 4: are you and he said ninety seven? And I went, oh,
- 6:10Speaker 4: come on, he goes no, ninety seven. I was born
- 6:13Speaker 4: in nineteen twenty eight. And he had a sweatshirt shirt
- 6:15Speaker 4: that was printed nineteen twenty eight.
- 6:19Speaker 3: So it turned out he really was. I said, you
- 6:21Speaker 3: are ninety seven. He goes yeah.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I go, my god, you are old. And he goes, yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 4: my dad's age if you yeah? And then and I said,
- 6:30Speaker 4: and so your Shawn's doesn't work? He goes for years. Now,
- 6:34Speaker 4: I went, so we talking. We the conversation was about
- 6:37Speaker 4: shawns is working or not working?
- 6:39Speaker 3: It must be so productive now that it was good? No,
- 6:42Speaker 3: it was very good. It was very good. Okay, we're done,
- 6:45Speaker 3: guys with that. You're ready to do it? Sure?
- 6:48Speaker 4: Why not handle on the news with Amy Neil and
- 6:54Speaker 4: me and lead story the Nancy three disappearance or I
- 7:01Speaker 4: think it's fair to say kidnapping. The last update was
- 7:05Speaker 4: there was a man who was detained for questioning. He
- 7:09Speaker 4: was released after investigators figure he had done nothing to
- 7:13Speaker 4: do with the kidnapping. There is videotape, and there was
- 7:18Speaker 4: a whole story about the technology behind finding or even
- 7:25Speaker 4: finding this video when the camera had been taken disabled,
- 7:31Speaker 4: and yet they were able to track it down with
- 7:33Speaker 4: the extraordinary cooperation from Google because it was a ring
- 7:38Speaker 4: camera which virtually everybody has.
- 7:40Speaker 5: It's actually it's a nest camera. It's the same thing.
- 7:43Speaker 5: It's just a different brand.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, fine, ring nests. You know they're all the same.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Rich Jumiro did a great breakdown on his social media
- 7:52Speaker 2: if you go check that out of how they got
- 7:55Speaker 2: the information from Google.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Yeah, now that means they have more information. But still
- 8:02Speaker 4: you see him in a mass where only his eyes
- 8:05Speaker 4: and his mouth show. H he has gloves, very heavy
- 8:09Speaker 4: gloves on. Yeah, but big ones, very puffy ones. Not
- 8:14Speaker 4: the kind you use the doctors used to make me
- 8:17Speaker 4: feel terrible when the doctors shows to say handle assume
- 8:21Speaker 4: the position, which they don't do anymore.
- 8:23Speaker 3: By the way, well because you do it in front
- 8:25Speaker 3: of your dentist. Yeah, no, they don't do that. Very
- 8:28Speaker 3: funny if they don't do that anymore.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Because there was a Kaiser talk about Digress, a Kaiser
- 8:35Speaker 4: Foundation study that says mortality rates things absolutely the same,
- 8:38Speaker 4: it doesn't change. I said, so you're not going to
- 8:41Speaker 4: do it, and he said, no, we don't do it anymore.
- 8:43Speaker 4: And I started arguing with him and sorta sorta yes, sort.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Of address war to payt gifts.
- 8:55Speaker 4: In any case, hopefully there's enough information they find this
- 8:59Speaker 4: guy they're getting, oh, sir. And the problem is with this,
- 9:04Speaker 4: and this is a very tough one, is that the
- 9:06Speaker 4: gut Thrie family has offered to pay and we're talking
- 9:09Speaker 4: six million dollars as being demanded in bitcoin for Nancy
- 9:13Speaker 4: Guthrie's release, and the purported kidnappers have not responded to that,
- 9:20Speaker 4: and that does not bode well. Unfortunately. I have my
- 9:26Speaker 4: doubts whether Nancy Got three is going to be returned.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Not only am I a pessimist, but I think if
- 9:32Speaker 4: you look at statistics, it's not particularly good news.
- 9:35Speaker 3: That's my take on it. I literally hope I'm very
- 9:39Speaker 3: wrong on this one.
- 9:40Speaker 2: What we only saw the one guy in the video.
- 9:42Speaker 2: We don't know if there was another one.
- 9:44Speaker 3: We don't know.
- 9:45Speaker 4: All we saw is the one guy going up to
- 9:47Speaker 4: the porch and then leaving and going up to.
- 9:49Speaker 5: The porch, unmasking Jeffrey's friends. Representative Rocanna was on the
- 9:56Speaker 5: house floor and read aloud the names of six wealthy
- 10:00Speaker 5: powerful men whose names were originally redacted in the Epstein files.
- 10:05Speaker 5: He was He and Representative Massey have been in the
- 10:08Speaker 5: in the skiff looking at the files that were supposed
- 10:11Speaker 5: to be unredacted. They say they found that they found
- 10:16Speaker 5: the six men that had been hidden in the files,
- 10:21Speaker 5: and said, imagine how many men they are covering up
- 10:25Speaker 5: in those three million documents If they found six in
- 10:29Speaker 5: two hours, Kinna identified Leslie Wexler or Wexner, he's the
- 10:35Speaker 5: billionaire and former owner of Victoria's Secret and the other
- 10:38Speaker 5: retail companies. And then also Sultan Ahmed bin Solomon as
- 10:44Speaker 5: the chief executive officer of DP World.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Do you know either are those names? I don't. I
- 10:49Speaker 3: had no idea who these people were, just the names.
- 10:51Speaker 5: I know, the name Leslie Wexler, the other names he
- 10:54Speaker 5: read off. I had no clue, no idea.
- 10:57Speaker 4: So what he's arguing, what he's saying is these are
- 10:59Speaker 4: the names they found in a couple of hours. Now
- 11:01Speaker 4: we have millions of pages to go through and we'll
- 11:05Speaker 4: see whose names were were redacted.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Why would they redact anything that was anyone's name that
- 11:12Speaker 2: was not a victim.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Oh, because of the connection to Jeffrey Epstein. If that's
- 11:19Speaker 4: why did they hang out after his conviction. Turns out
- 11:23Speaker 4: that Howard Lutnick did he straight out lied about that.
- 11:26Speaker 2: No, No, I think they should be we should see that.
- 11:29Speaker 2: But I'm saying Why would you redact someone who wasn't
- 11:33Speaker 2: a victim.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I don't understand such yet you're going to redact their names?
- 11:39Speaker 4: Yeah, someone who is not a victim, redact their names,
- 11:42Speaker 4: just their names being put out.
- 11:43Speaker 3: I think publicly, I wasn't a victim.
- 11:45Speaker 4: How I wouldn't want my name out there simply because
- 11:49Speaker 4: of the potential of a connection. So I just don't
- 11:53Speaker 4: want to be connected in any way, and then to
- 11:55Speaker 4: be and then said and then a handle has nothing
- 11:58Speaker 4: to do with what happened was going on. I can
- 12:01Speaker 4: see the reason why you don't want that to happen.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Well, the people.
- 12:04Speaker 2: But I'm saying legally, why does the government have to
- 12:07Speaker 2: redact their name?
- 12:08Speaker 3: Oh they don't. They don't.
- 12:10Speaker 4: The government doesn't ever redact anything. Even the victims of
- 12:12Speaker 4: the government doesn't have to redact. All right, La County,
- 12:19Speaker 4: you've got us, the voters. We're going to be asked
- 12:22Speaker 4: to vote.
- 12:23Speaker 2: For less money in our pockets again, because that's what
- 12:26Speaker 2: we do here in Los Angeles. So coming up in June,
- 12:30Speaker 2: they want to hike the sales tax right by a
- 12:32Speaker 2: half a cent. This is to soften the blow of
- 12:35Speaker 2: federal funding cuts, you know, the big one, big Beautiful
- 12:39Speaker 2: Bill Act is expected to slash around two billion or
- 12:44Speaker 2: more of the county's budget for healthcare services over the
- 12:47Speaker 2: next three years. So they're trying to recoup about one
- 12:50Speaker 2: billion back in via these taxes.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Yeah, and a part of that bill is known as
- 12:59Speaker 4: the lsc Act. Let's screw California and LA County And
- 13:05Speaker 4: we're going to talk more about this coming up at
- 13:08Speaker 4: eight o'clock.
- 13:09Speaker 3: We're going to make a new road for billionaires to leave.
- 13:13Speaker 4: There's a whorld to this and it's getting crazy. And
- 13:16Speaker 4: then I'm gonna do a story about crazy. It's really
- 13:20Speaker 4: crazy in terms of home ownership, and you're not going
- 13:22Speaker 4: to be surprised.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Moving on Mount Baldy, banned trails on Mount Baldy, the
- 13:29Speaker 5: towering peak that looms over southern California's gorgeous lowered a
- 13:32Speaker 5: lot of inexperienced and under equipped hikers to their deaths.
- 13:36Speaker 5: It's going to be closed for the next two weeks.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Three hikers have died in the storms in December because
- 13:43Speaker 5: they were up hiking in the icy narrow Devil's Backbone
- 13:47Speaker 5: trail area and fell to their death.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I have a question in terms of who goes there.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Did someone wake up and say, gee, I think I'll
- 13:56Speaker 4: go hiking today at Devil's Backbone yea, and possibly die.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Same thing with Mount Everest, where people are They actually
- 14:05Speaker 4: walk over bodies that are sitting there at the various trails.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I just don't understand this. Mount Everest isn't called Mount Death. Oh,
- 14:15Speaker 2: it's even Benman's curve, the Devil's backbone, like somebody named
- 14:20Speaker 2: him that for a reason.
- 14:22Speaker 3: All right?
- 14:24Speaker 4: That, yeah, I'll buy that, but it could because it's
- 14:26Speaker 4: the in the shape of a backbone. I don't know
- 14:29Speaker 4: where I came from. It doesn't matter. I think you're right.
- 14:32Speaker 4: You know why why do you would you even go
- 14:34Speaker 4: there in the middle of the winter. I don't understand
- 14:35Speaker 4: that gorgeous.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Area, but yeah, not good, all right, strange flip flop
- 14:40Speaker 2: on a story.
- 14:41Speaker 3: We don't know why. But the FAA came out and.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Halted all flights at El Paso Airport in Texas for
- 14:49Speaker 2: ten days. It's now flipped uh and they have reopened it.
- 14:54Speaker 2: But it's weird. They use this term. I don't know
- 14:56Speaker 2: if you've heard this before, built notem n otam. It
- 15:01Speaker 2: stands for notice to airmen, And they said no pilots
- 15:05Speaker 2: may operate in aircraft in the areas, and they said
- 15:09Speaker 2: it was for security reasons. But it turned over very quickly,
- 15:12Speaker 2: obviously not going to tea.
- 15:14Speaker 4: They turned it around in twenty four hours. Yeah, so
- 15:16Speaker 4: whatever risk was ascertained is no longer. And I don't
- 15:20Speaker 4: I didn't, I didn't know NOTEM. I know that there's
- 15:22Speaker 4: grounding of all airplanes. I know they're shutting down a
- 15:27Speaker 4: what is it a ground stop where the airplanes are
- 15:30Speaker 4: are not allowed to fly in or out?
- 15:32Speaker 3: But I know, I didn't know. Noteem is the official phrase.
- 15:38Speaker 4: No trust turned around. They turned around twenty four hours.
- 15:41Speaker 4: No one understands why.
- 15:43Speaker 5: I'm sure we'll be getting details soon. No trespassing. Mayor
- 15:48Speaker 5: Bass has signed a new executive directive that restricts federal
- 15:53Speaker 5: immigration enforcement operations on city owned property. Basically, she said,
- 15:57Speaker 5: you can't stage on city owned property, stalking to ice
- 16:01Speaker 5: enforcement agents, and it also requires LAPD officers who respond
- 16:07Speaker 5: to an immigration enforcement scene to turn on their body
- 16:10Speaker 5: camps when they get there.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Yeah, that there's not a problem with I kind of question.
- 16:15Speaker 4: You can't stage on city grounds a federal operation. I
- 16:22Speaker 4: don't quite understand how this works because obviously federal law
- 16:28Speaker 4: supersedes any state, county, city law or city directives. So
- 16:34Speaker 4: I don't understand that. But certainly you can't cooperate and
- 16:37Speaker 4: you have to wear body cams. And I think Pam
- 16:40Speaker 4: Bondi had already said that ICE agents who are involved
- 16:44Speaker 4: in executing these deportations and rest warrants must wear body cams.
- 16:50Speaker 5: So right, but this is for LAPD officers, right, respond,
- 16:55Speaker 5: that's right, and that is not a problem.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that and I said it could be moved because
- 17:01Speaker 4: the ICE agents are going to be wearing bodycam which
- 17:05Speaker 4: is critical because in the shooting of Alex pretty bodycam proved.
- 17:10Speaker 4: Bodycam footage proved that the administration was straight out lying
- 17:15Speaker 4: about what happened, not an issue, straight out lying, And
- 17:20Speaker 4: of course they're deflecting and just oh no, no, no,
- 17:24Speaker 4: that's not true. He was still he's a No I
- 17:27Speaker 4: haven't they stopped saying he was a terrorist domestic terrorists.
- 17:30Speaker 3: But they've never walked that back. Never.
- 17:33Speaker 5: No.
- 17:33Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, there's a story coming up,
- 17:36Speaker 2: jeef wack. We need to take a break now, but
- 17:39Speaker 2: about that not walking it back.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Oh blackjack. Federal agents can't play oh no, no, no,
- 17:44Speaker 3: no later.
- 17:46Speaker 4: More handle on the news with Amy and Neil and
- 17:51Speaker 4: Me and a really weird story about ice agents can't
- 17:55Speaker 4: play blackjack anymore at California Card Route.
- 17:58Speaker 3: No, no, no, did I read that wrong? You shuffle
- 18:02Speaker 3: the headlines.
- 18:05Speaker 2: This This is a strange story, and I'm as a
- 18:08Speaker 2: blackjack fan, I'm trying to parse all the weird details
- 18:12Speaker 2: and why they would be such. But there's a new
- 18:15Speaker 2: regulation coming down that's gonna bar card rooms from offering
- 18:19Speaker 2: blackjack and any other player dealer games. And you know,
- 18:25Speaker 2: people rightly so are saying this is going to devastate
- 18:28Speaker 2: the industry in California.
- 18:30Speaker 3: So there's these new rules.
- 18:33Speaker 2: One of the two new rules says that card rooms
- 18:35Speaker 2: cannot offer blackjack. And keep in mind, this is the
- 18:39Speaker 2: most popular casino game in the world. Right, players would
- 18:43Speaker 2: no longer bust but by exceeding twenty one points, and
- 18:49Speaker 2: the card rooms can't use the name blackjack or include
- 18:52Speaker 2: the number twenty one.
- 18:53Speaker 3: And I'm not sure it's so weird.
- 18:57Speaker 4: I've have to do with that. It has to do
- 19:00Speaker 4: with the treaty that was signed. The agreement was signed
- 19:03Speaker 4: nineteen ninety nine. Prop one A California's Native Americans the
- 19:08Speaker 4: exclusive right the tribes get the exclusive right to offer
- 19:12Speaker 4: blackjack and other table games. And again, as you explain,
- 19:16Speaker 4: play against the casino or the house. So it's gonna
- 19:18Speaker 4: it's gonna put those city casinos basically out of business
- 19:22Speaker 4: as far as blackjack. And you can't use the word blackshack.
- 19:25Speaker 4: So it has to be the big game, which is
- 19:28Speaker 4: really confusing.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Super Bowl, super Bowl, Yes, but this doesn't hit casinos,
- 19:35Speaker 2: Indian casinos.
- 19:36Speaker 4: No, No, it was in favor of Indian Indian casinos.
- 19:39Speaker 4: He said, only Indian casinos can play blackjack, you know.
- 19:42Speaker 4: And I'm always in favor of whatever we sign with
- 19:46Speaker 4: Native Americans because based on the number of treaties the
- 19:50Speaker 4: United States signed with Native Americans throughout the years prior
- 19:55Speaker 4: to the modern era, the US broke every single treaty
- 20:00Speaker 4: and move tribes from one reservation to another, and we
- 20:05Speaker 4: treated the Native Americans horribly and they came back saying, Okay,
- 20:09Speaker 4: what we want is the ability to fleece people. Uh
- 20:13Speaker 4: do it with the gambling.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Yeah, So you take that out of the hands of
- 20:17Speaker 2: the of the state and give it to the Indian tribes.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Yeah, the tribe. I'm all for this because I play
- 20:25Speaker 3: a wrongo. So I'm okay.
- 20:27Speaker 5: So basically what this does, though, it just keeps you
- 20:29Speaker 5: from saying the word blackjack or twenty one. But they're
- 20:33Speaker 5: going to work around it. But they can still play cards, and.
- 20:36Speaker 3: They except that there. You can't the house, can't do
- 20:38Speaker 3: the house anymore.
- 20:39Speaker 5: But they've done that in Oregon for years. We're like,
- 20:42Speaker 5: you have to have people shuffle in and be there.
- 20:45Speaker 4: Yes, yes, exactly, people play people or of the house.
- 20:48Speaker 4: And it's no longer the twenty one or bust. It's
- 20:50Speaker 4: whatever the card player. Uh, whoever comes closest to the
- 20:55Speaker 4: number twenty one in fact wins that hand.
- 20:58Speaker 2: We are and this is California real Estate. It's an organ.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, organ is weird.
- 21:06Speaker 5: Yeah, well there's no Morgan.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:10Speaker 4: The only casinos in Oregon are around bushes. Okay, they're
- 21:13Speaker 4: not even in buildings all that.
- 21:15Speaker 2: But Tullly Oil yeah, Northwest, Yeah, grilled on the Hill.
- 21:22Speaker 5: Representative Eric Swalwell. Oh remember yesterday, Bill, you were asking
- 21:25Speaker 5: who Swalwell is. Well, he's he's a representative from California.
- 21:30Speaker 5: He pressed Ice Chief todd Lyons to apologize to the
- 21:34Speaker 5: families of Renee Good and Alex Pretty. They were the
- 21:36Speaker 5: two people shot and killed by ICE agents in Minneapolis
- 21:40Speaker 5: last month.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Uh.
- 21:41Speaker 5: He said, will you apologize to Renee Good for being
- 21:44Speaker 5: called a domestic terrorist by the president and his leadership?
- 21:48Speaker 5: And Lyons said no, sir, And then Swalwell said is
- 21:51Speaker 5: she a domestic terrorist? And Lions declined to answer.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Yeah. A quick word here in terms of apologizing.
- 21:59Speaker 4: If I'm a council to ICE, and of course everybody
- 22:03Speaker 4: has council attorneys that are assigned to various agencies, I
- 22:08Speaker 4: wouldn't let the agency head apologize because an apology is
- 22:12Speaker 4: going to be used in court in the civil suit.
- 22:17Speaker 4: And didn't the government apologize for this? Ladies and gentlemen
- 22:21Speaker 4: of the jury. What does that mean? So I can
- 22:25Speaker 4: see that now As far as the rest of it,
- 22:27Speaker 4: I mean, I loved it when the Lions was asked
- 22:33Speaker 4: about showing papers and he deflected, deflected, deflective.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Also is well he wouldn't even admit that the two
- 22:41Speaker 3: were shot.
- 22:43Speaker 4: I mean, the guy is he deflected like you couldn't deflect,
- 22:48Speaker 4: or like you could deflect anyway. Part of it is
- 22:52Speaker 4: it's not one sided on the apology. All right, let's
- 22:56Speaker 4: finish up by handle on the news, Amy and me.
- 23:01Speaker 2: All right, the shootings at a school and a home
- 23:06Speaker 2: in Canada, sad story.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Ten dead.
- 23:11Speaker 2: It was at this school. There were seven people dead
- 23:15Speaker 2: while two more were found dead in nearby home. So
- 23:17Speaker 2: it took place at a home at the school. You know,
- 23:21Speaker 2: pretty rare in Canada to have that, very.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Rare because guns are not allowed in Canada. No, then
- 23:28Speaker 4: after a twenty twenty shooting, the gun laws became more
- 23:31Speaker 4: restrictive in Canada.
- 23:33Speaker 3: There was a little.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Different after a shooting. The gun laws are ease eased up.
- 23:39Speaker 2: In the United States, bigger guns now we have about
- 23:41Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty guns per one hundred thousand, and
- 23:45Speaker 2: in Canada it's about thirty five guns per one hundred thousands.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Yeah, probably, yeah, and so this is really unusual. Story
- 23:56Speaker 4: We did yesterday about Waimo assistance.
- 23:59Speaker 5: Please did we do this yesterday.
- 24:02Speaker 3: With Rich Deborough He mentioned this.
- 24:06Speaker 5: Oh yeah, okay, uh so Weimo has its robotaxis. But
- 24:10Speaker 5: sometimes those autonomous those autonomous driving vehicles need a little help,
- 24:16Speaker 5: and that is when they run into unusual situations, they
- 24:22Speaker 5: have remote human operators step into help. They're not driving
- 24:27Speaker 5: the cars, but they're assisting if there's an unusual situation
- 24:31Speaker 5: Weimo says. The operators are then able to provide real,
- 24:34Speaker 5: real time, contextual guidance and a lot of them are
- 24:39Speaker 5: from overseas.
- 24:40Speaker 4: So yeah, they call centers that I help with the
- 24:46Speaker 4: call with the car the technology.
- 24:49Speaker 3: Hello, my name is Bob, can I help you? Well, Bob?
- 24:55Speaker 3: What is is that like a Southern accent?
- 24:59Speaker 4: No, that was like a at Indian accent. Thank you
- 25:01Speaker 4: and making fun of us.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Are in the Philippines?
- 25:05Speaker 4: Yes, they are here, we go and I did that
- 25:07Speaker 4: yesterday too with the karaoke.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Okay, we're not going to go on or we are
- 25:14Speaker 3: all right?
- 25:15Speaker 2: Major League Baseball making streaming options available for fans to
- 25:20Speaker 2: watch in market games of twenty teams. That includes the Dodgers,
- 25:25Speaker 2: the Los Angeles Angels, San Francisco Giants, San Diego. What's
- 25:30Speaker 2: this name man, San Diego? What's the team there? San
- 25:33Speaker 2: Diego Padres. So this is a huge shift obviously respond
- 25:40Speaker 2: to fast changing TV landscape. Things are going nuts all
- 25:43Speaker 2: the way. But because of you've got to have subscriptions
- 25:47Speaker 2: to everything. So the Angels on Tuesday announced the arrangement.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Yeah, another avenue for in this case, sports seems to
- 25:55Speaker 4: make money. It looks like every business who can possibly
- 25:59Speaker 4: use a platform under any circumstances is trying to and
- 26:04Speaker 4: successfully monetizing it. So the technology today, as you pointed out,
- 26:10Speaker 4: can be used for virtually anything. All Right, we are
- 26:13Speaker 4: done with the news. We'll be back with more kf
- 26:18Speaker 4: I Am sixty.
- 26:20Speaker 3: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
