- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cats. My
- 0:16Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett. On this Wednesday. Oh my gosh,
- 0:21Speaker 2: I know it it's Tuesday. I don't know why I
- 0:26Speaker 2: have been messed up since July fourth. Okay, I just
- 0:28Speaker 2: want you to know that it's Tuesday. All right, everybody
- 0:31Speaker 2: out there, don't blame me that you're waking up today
- 0:34Speaker 2: thinking it's it's Wednesday. It's not. It's Tuesday. It's Justin's fault,
- 0:38Speaker 2: so we'll just blame him. July fourteenth. I hope everybody's
- 0:40Speaker 2: doing well out there. He almost came in strong with
- 0:43Speaker 2: the hump Days, so.
- 0:45Speaker 1: It's ready for exactly.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I tried to prepare myself for hump Day when you
- 0:50Speaker 2: yell at and I was already trying to prepare myself
- 0:54Speaker 2: for tomorrow. But today is Tuesday. But sorry about that
- 0:58Speaker 2: everybody out there. But if you want to give uskallf
- 1:01Speaker 2: fave o two three eight four fourteen fifty, you want
- 1:03Speaker 2: to text us on the Whiskey Thief text line, you
- 1:05Speaker 2: can do that at five oh two four to one
- 1:07Speaker 2: four fourteen fifty, or you can tweet me at Just
- 1:11Speaker 2: the Cat radio, justin, h are you doing well today?
- 1:15Speaker 2: I mean, you said you had a little wheezy problem
- 1:19Speaker 2: between your show and my show.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Have you cleared that out now?
- 1:24Speaker 3: I think the wheezing is gone, so that's that's good. However,
- 1:28Speaker 3: still very very tired, are you really? I stayed up
- 1:32Speaker 3: for the entire home run Derby last night, which means yeah,
- 1:35Speaker 3: I didn't get in bed till almost eleven o'clock. I'm
- 1:38Speaker 3: paying for it today. I need it.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I stayed up for a good portion of it.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I mean, well, maybe not. I watched the first segment
- 1:47Speaker 2: of it, and it was fun to watch. I will say,
- 1:50Speaker 2: but we'll talk.
- 1:53Speaker 1: About that a little later. I don't want to get
- 1:54Speaker 1: into that yet.
- 1:56Speaker 2: But I think the one big, big topic that I
- 2:00Speaker 2: do want to talk about today is the topic of
- 2:04Speaker 2: father time. I don't know if you saw this or not,
- 2:08Speaker 2: but the US House of Representatives is going to vote
- 2:14Speaker 2: sometime this week. They won't say when, on legislation, legislation
- 2:19Speaker 2: that would make daylight savings time permanent. Lots of people
- 2:26Speaker 2: like this, and there are lots of people that do
- 2:29Speaker 2: not like this. Before I say how I feel, I'm curious,
- 2:36Speaker 2: justin because you know, there's a few states that have
- 2:38Speaker 2: already just adapted to it, not necessarily daylight saving I
- 2:42Speaker 2: think it's Hawaii.
- 2:44Speaker 1: They stay on the other time.
- 2:47Speaker 2: So right now, it's an hour difference between the time,
- 2:51Speaker 2: oh several hour differences right now between where we are
- 2:53Speaker 2: in Louis Kentucky and where they are in Hawaii. But
- 2:56Speaker 2: where do you stand. Do you like the way time
- 2:59Speaker 2: is right now? Or do you like it when it
- 3:03Speaker 2: switches to we lose an hour in November or do
- 3:08Speaker 2: you like switching it back and forth? Or do you
- 3:12Speaker 2: like daylight savings time the way it is now?
- 3:15Speaker 3: First of all, let me just say this. I'm not
- 3:17Speaker 3: putting any stock into this vote because I feel like
- 3:19Speaker 3: I've heard for the last seven years that we're getting
- 3:22Speaker 3: rid of daylight savings time. Yeah, and then every single
- 3:26Speaker 3: year daylight savings time is back. So I never understood
- 3:30Speaker 3: what happened to it, But honestly, I probably like it
- 3:36Speaker 3: more the way it is now, even though the time
- 3:39Speaker 3: change in the middle of the night I think is
- 3:41Speaker 3: really dumb and kind of stupid, But so is being
- 3:45Speaker 3: at work in the wintertime and the sun's not coming
- 3:49Speaker 3: up till nine o'clock. Right, And now, what it would
- 3:52Speaker 3: be would be like nine in the morning when the
- 3:54Speaker 3: sun comes up in the wintertime.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Probably so, but I'm okay with that. I don't mind that.
- 4:00Speaker 3: And again it would go it would set it like
- 4:02Speaker 3: six as opposed.
- 4:03Speaker 1: To exact.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Exactly. So that's why I like it so all right,
- 4:08Speaker 2: So which which way are you leaning? You like to
- 4:11Speaker 2: switch the time or you like to leave it permanently
- 4:14Speaker 2: the time it is right now.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I grew up Catholic, so I am very much I'll
- 4:20Speaker 3: get why that's pertinent. I am very much against change.
- 4:25Speaker 3: I mean, we sat in the same every Sunday. I'm
- 4:28Speaker 3: not a big change guy. Change kind of freaks me
- 4:31Speaker 3: out more times than not. So my answer would be,
- 4:36Speaker 3: let's just leave it how it is. But if but
- 4:39Speaker 3: if I got to adjust and we want to change it,
- 4:41Speaker 3: then that's what I'll have to do.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Uh, because because that's where you and I are a
- 4:46Speaker 2: lot alike we do. I don't like change either, but
- 4:51Speaker 2: to me, this is a change I kind of support
- 4:54Speaker 2: because the part that scares me is that they'll say, no, no, no,
- 4:58Speaker 2: We're going to go back to the other time and
- 5:01Speaker 2: leave that the permanent one and then guess what during
- 5:03Speaker 2: the summer, the sun will set around seven thirty eight o'clock,
- 5:07Speaker 2: and I don't like that. I like Heaven it set
- 5:10Speaker 2: way late after nine, you know. And when you start
- 5:14Speaker 2: getting those shorter days, we've already had the longest day
- 5:17Speaker 2: of the year, and you starting to get those shorter days.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I can't stand that. And then the dread comes. Well,
- 5:22Speaker 2: then we're going to change the clocks back, and then
- 5:25Speaker 2: we're gonna have shorter daylight in the day. And I
- 5:29Speaker 2: don't like any of that. So yeah, as far as change,
- 5:32Speaker 2: I'm with you. I can't stand change. I never knew
- 5:35Speaker 2: this was a Catholic thing, but I'm not Catholic, but
- 5:39Speaker 2: I certainly don't like change. It is, okay, all right,
- 5:42Speaker 2: then I just change. I attributed to the way my
- 5:45Speaker 2: weird mind is. And I don't know why my weird
- 5:49Speaker 2: mind is the way it is, but I want to
- 5:52Speaker 2: keep it as it is right now. I love this
- 5:55Speaker 2: time right here. And if it's if the sun didn't
- 5:58Speaker 2: come up till later in the morning in the middle
- 6:00Speaker 2: the winter, I don't care about that. That doesn't bother me.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I was always up anyway in the even right now,
- 6:06Speaker 2: in the longest days, I'm up before the sun comes up.
- 6:09Speaker 1: It just doesn't bother me. It's never affected me, yeah,
- 6:11Speaker 1: I guess.
- 6:11Speaker 3: And so with us doing this, it wouldn't bother you
- 6:14Speaker 3: because I mean, we're inside until ten o'clock. What's that
- 6:19Speaker 3: like With us, it wouldn't affect us because we're both
- 6:22Speaker 3: inside at ten weeks like until ten o'clock, and we're
- 6:24Speaker 3: driving at dark anyway.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so I don't care about that. I just I
- 6:29Speaker 2: just want I like having the daylight more in the
- 6:33Speaker 2: afternoon and night.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I like that, I will be honest.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I had a couple of softball games last night and
- 6:39Speaker 3: I didn't leave out of their until nine point fifteen
- 6:42Speaker 3: and is probably about a thirty minute drive home. It
- 6:45Speaker 3: was basically still light the whole time going home, which
- 6:48Speaker 3: that was nice.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I love that.
- 6:52Speaker 2: And if I'm driving in the darken to work, I
- 6:54Speaker 2: don't care. But if I got daylight when I get
- 6:56Speaker 2: home to what I like. I don't like leaving in
- 6:59Speaker 2: the dark and heading home in the dark. And that
- 7:01Speaker 2: was the worst part. When I had my first job
- 7:03Speaker 2: in Nashville, Tennessee, I was literally in course. Nashville, you know,
- 7:07Speaker 2: is on Central Time, so it's even worse down there.
- 7:10Speaker 2: So you leave in the dark and you get home
- 7:12Speaker 2: in the dark. And I always hated that, especially in
- 7:15Speaker 2: the winter. That was just misery. And I know it
- 7:18Speaker 2: had to affected my mind in some way or another.
- 7:20Speaker 2: It had to have because people the darkness can affect
- 7:25Speaker 2: people in certain ways, and it did.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Mean That's why I know I could never live in
- 7:29Speaker 1: Alaska in the wintertime.
- 7:30Speaker 2: There is just no way I could ever do anything
- 7:33Speaker 2: like that when it's dark majority of the day. I
- 7:36Speaker 2: gotta have daylight. So what's that that would suck? It
- 7:40Speaker 2: would I mean, was it Matthew You weren't on yet
- 7:43Speaker 2: when Matthew said that, or was it you?
- 7:46Speaker 1: He has a friend that.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Was a physical therapist that was yeah, and turned it
- 7:52Speaker 2: down going to Alaska for over one hundred and some
- 7:54Speaker 2: one thousand dollars. It's like, you know, if if it
- 7:57Speaker 2: was temporary, I think I could prepare myself. It's like,
- 8:01Speaker 2: I don't like crowds. I think you know that, And
- 8:04Speaker 2: I have to mentally prepare myself for Oaks and Derby
- 8:08Speaker 2: Day because I know I'm going to be around crowds
- 8:10Speaker 2: when I go to a big city. I know I
- 8:11Speaker 2: got to prepare myself. I just know how I am
- 8:14Speaker 2: and if I had to go to Alaska for just
- 8:16Speaker 2: a few months, I think I could prepare myself.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Maybe for those few months. But I don't know.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Do I think tanning beds are a big thing in Alaska.
- 8:28Speaker 1: That's a great question.
- 8:29Speaker 3: God, I could deal with the darkness if I could
- 8:31Speaker 3: hop in a tanning bed and like get even ten
- 8:34Speaker 3: minutes of fakes on every day.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Well, and you know there is light therapy. Have you
- 8:39Speaker 1: ever heard of light therapy?
- 8:41Speaker 3: Oh?
- 8:41Speaker 2: Oh, there is actually a lot of the seasonal people
- 8:46Speaker 2: that have seasonal depression and the sun is not up
- 8:50Speaker 2: as long as it is normally. There's a lot of
- 8:55Speaker 2: studies into light therapy. I've actually got a light that
- 8:58Speaker 2: I sit in front of for about ten minutes. During
- 9:02Speaker 2: that time, if I kind of feel it, I'll get
- 9:05Speaker 2: that light out and I feel completely different. So I
- 9:08Speaker 2: bet you there is something to tanning beds because of
- 9:11Speaker 2: the whole light therapy study. I can't believe you've never
- 9:14Speaker 2: heard of light therapy.
- 9:15Speaker 3: I can't believe you believe that it works.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Thanks a lot. Well, maybe it does. Okay, it's all
- 9:23Speaker 1: on your head exactly.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Well, it is all in my head more ways than
- 9:26Speaker 2: I but a lot of people believe you can go
- 9:30Speaker 2: look it up in light therapy. You buy these lights
- 9:33Speaker 2: and you sit in front of it, and maybe it
- 9:35Speaker 2: is just your mind playing with you. It has nothing
- 9:37Speaker 2: to do with the light. It has everything to do
- 9:39Speaker 2: with just your mind.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Now I do know.
- 9:41Speaker 3: So we've we've spent a lot of time on Early
- 9:44Speaker 3: Holl in the last couple of weeks. He does something
- 9:47Speaker 3: similar before he goes to bed. He puts this like
- 9:49Speaker 3: blue light mask on for like fifteen twenty minutes, however
- 9:54Speaker 3: long it ends up being. So I'm wondering if that
- 9:56Speaker 3: has something to do with it too. I don't know.
- 9:59Speaker 2: See, I guarantee you well, but that would keep you up,
- 10:03Speaker 2: I would think.
- 10:03Speaker 1: No, he doesn't.
- 10:04Speaker 3: He just wears it like for fifteen twenty minutes, then
- 10:07Speaker 3: he'll go to bed. He doesn't wear it two.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Bad Yeah, but that's blue light. To me is light therapy,
- 10:13Speaker 2: and it wants to keep you up.
- 10:15Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Maybe it's interesting who does this? Who is Early Oh?
- 10:24Speaker 1: A soccer player?
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yes, I didn't realize that really, And he's a young guy.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I would like to see what he's doing that for
- 10:33Speaker 2: and he goes to bed. I would think you would
- 10:35Speaker 2: want to do it when you wake up.
- 10:37Speaker 3: He is Lebron James of the soccer world. I mean
- 10:40Speaker 3: he oh boy, you mean to Michael Jordan. No, no, no, no,
- 10:43Speaker 3: I'm saying it. I'm not saying in terms of his talent.
- 10:45Speaker 3: I'm saying in the way that he takes care of
- 10:47Speaker 3: himself and he eats and he just like the recovery
- 10:51Speaker 3: after game stuff like that. Lebron's always been amazing at
- 10:54Speaker 3: that type of stuff. And Earling Hollin's the same.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Boy well, and Tom Brady's the same way, and he
- 11:00Speaker 2: was still playing. Tom Brady was one of those I
- 11:02Speaker 2: would say, Uh, Tiger Woods was that way for the
- 11:07Speaker 2: most part until he got to a certain point, you see,
- 11:11Speaker 2: exactly up to unfortunately a certain point, he was really
- 11:14Speaker 2: good about that. I wasn't he one of the first
- 11:17Speaker 2: golfers to really put in weights into his game because
- 11:22Speaker 2: there were no golfers out there that were putting any
- 11:24Speaker 2: kind of the exercise that Tiger Woods was. And then
- 11:27Speaker 2: I think every golfer adapted to that kind of living. Well,
- 11:33Speaker 2: all right, Deshambo, I would say, is too big?
- 11:36Speaker 1: Too big?
- 11:37Speaker 3: He's gotten a little smaller. But he got to a
- 11:40Speaker 3: point where he was too big.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I almost get to the point where Roy McElroy is
- 11:44Speaker 2: too big. Seriously, have you seen his arms? He does
- 11:49Speaker 2: have pretty jacked on. Oh they are gigantic. I mean
- 11:52Speaker 2: they're as big as my thigh. They're unbelievable how big
- 11:56Speaker 2: they are. But of course I'm looking forward to you know,
- 12:00Speaker 2: this week is uh, it's the Open week, isn't it
- 12:02Speaker 2: British Open?
- 12:04Speaker 1: And so that's that's always fun. That's what's so sad.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Yeah, we we didn't even talk about the golf tournament
- 12:11Speaker 2: that was here in Louisville.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Last week's big for yourself. I talked about it.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Oh you did well, congratulations finished. No, I didn't watch.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I hate to tell you, I didn't watch a second
- 12:23Speaker 2: of it.
- 12:23Speaker 3: It was so it went to a playoff, right, they
- 12:27Speaker 3: had to have three playoff holes.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Wow, really good for them. And who won? Stephen Fisk?
- 12:37Speaker 1: Do I know Stephen Fisk?
- 12:39Speaker 3: You've maybe seen his name over the years, but he's
- 12:41Speaker 3: really he's not like a big time I mean, there
- 12:44Speaker 3: wasn't really any big time golfers at that time.
- 12:46Speaker 1: There never was.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Now apparently the PGA is about to like change their
- 12:52Speaker 3: schedule up and reshuffle some things around and there's talk
- 12:56Speaker 3: that the ISCO moving forward could become the premier tournament
- 13:01Speaker 3: of that week, which would draw the big players.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Now you're starting to tell me something.
- 13:06Speaker 2: I like that, because that's that's all what's always kept
- 13:10Speaker 2: me from being really that interested because I knew. I
- 13:12Speaker 2: always knew it was the week before the British Open.
- 13:14Speaker 2: That's why Lexington really didn't succeed. That they weren't getting
- 13:17Speaker 2: any names there. And now Louisville and Hurstpring country clubs
- 13:21Speaker 2: headed the last two years, is that right? I believe
- 13:24Speaker 2: it's the last two years, and again it hasn't been
- 13:27Speaker 2: really any kind of big name players. So because I
- 13:31Speaker 2: know that, I had several people invite my wife and
- 13:34Speaker 2: I had to come out there and just they couldn't
- 13:37Speaker 2: give away the tickets.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Max Holmo was there. That's pretty cool, really, Okay, I'd
- 13:42Speaker 3: like to see Max Olmer. And the good thing about
- 13:44Speaker 3: the ISCO at Hirsborn is the crowds are not anything
- 13:49Speaker 3: like a big tournament, Like if you went out to
- 13:51Speaker 3: Valhalla for the PGA Championship, crowds are going to be
- 13:54Speaker 3: a third of that size, if not some baller.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Crowds are gonna be a third of what size, like
- 14:01Speaker 1: the Championship Football, well, because of.
- 14:04Speaker 2: The fact that they don't have any players, big name players,
- 14:07Speaker 2: that's why. But if you get the big name players,
- 14:09Speaker 2: and it's going to completely change. So I absolutely if
- 14:12Speaker 2: they get the Norse, if they get on to where
- 14:15Speaker 2: it's all the big name players come to Louisville to
- 14:19Speaker 2: play out there, I guarantee you that the crowds will
- 14:22Speaker 2: be completely different because people want to go see Deshambo
- 14:27Speaker 2: if he's playing the PGA hopefully so or Roy McElroy
- 14:31Speaker 2: or Justin Thomas or any of the Justin's.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Even him alone would get bigger crowds.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely, because he's the hometown hero. So I'm just
- 14:42Speaker 2: telling you if they get the normal, if that does
- 14:47Speaker 2: change to where the schedule completely changes and now the
- 14:52Speaker 2: ISCO tournament has all the big name players, it's going
- 14:55Speaker 2: to change the dynamic attendance.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Everything about that tournament.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Overnight would honestly probably be a nightmare logistically where that
- 15:04Speaker 3: course is located and the roads you got to take
- 15:07Speaker 3: the lead into there, that would make traffic a nightmare out.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but traffic's a nightmare anyway. When you have the
- 15:16Speaker 2: PGA Championship or the Ryder Cup out of Valhalla. Remember
- 15:20Speaker 2: you had to park all the way out and people
- 15:22Speaker 2: complained about it. I had to park all the way
- 15:23Speaker 2: at the Fairgrounds, but it worked out well. Oh yeah,
- 15:27Speaker 2: that's the one thing this city really does well. And
- 15:30Speaker 2: I think they've learned from the Kentucky Derby. They do
- 15:33Speaker 2: a fantastic job of getting people in and out of
- 15:36Speaker 2: a certain area.
- 15:37Speaker 1: They just do.
- 15:38Speaker 2: And I know a lot of people were complaining about
- 15:41Speaker 2: parking over the fairgrounds, but it's been the best thing.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I mean, it just really has been just planning on going.
- 15:47Speaker 2: It's going to take you an next your hour because
- 15:49Speaker 2: you got to park all the way at the fairgrounds,
- 15:51Speaker 2: thirty minutes all the way out to Valhalla, and then
- 15:53Speaker 2: thirty minutes back.
- 15:54Speaker 3: So they were dropped off like at the Derby, and
- 15:58Speaker 3: exactly popped off right the door, exactly like.
- 16:02Speaker 1: It couldn't more convenient.
- 16:04Speaker 2: The only bad part is if it rains, which has
- 16:06Speaker 2: happened at the Derby, and then people get stuck in
- 16:09Speaker 2: the deluge of rainfall.
- 16:11Speaker 1: That's happened. But I just tell you I.
- 16:15Speaker 2: And and maybe I don't know where they arranged if
- 16:18Speaker 2: it did become where a lot of people were attending,
- 16:20Speaker 2: maybe they could park at Oxmore and Oxmore has a
- 16:23Speaker 2: special deal for you, or they can find something to
- 16:29Speaker 2: where they could park a lot of cars and shuttle
- 16:31Speaker 2: you in. I'm not worried about Herstpurn Country Club and
- 16:35Speaker 2: being back there in the middle of Herstburn Subdivision. I
- 16:39Speaker 2: just think that you'd probably have to do the whole
- 16:42Speaker 2: fairground thing again and then drive take a shuttle that way.
- 16:47Speaker 1: And that's okay. I mean that's okay.
- 16:49Speaker 2: It does and it's it's done really well in this city,
- 16:53Speaker 2: especially Derby time. Look at all right, I'll give you
- 16:56Speaker 2: an example. When we go to Churchill Downs for Oaks
- 16:59Speaker 2: and Derby, we park right there in the parking lot
- 17:02Speaker 2: of Churchill Downs. I get in my car right after
- 17:05Speaker 2: the race is over for Derby and or for the Oaks.
- 17:10Speaker 2: I am back in my home in twenty five minutes
- 17:14Speaker 2: with all that crowd leaving Churchill Downs and end. It's
- 17:18Speaker 2: all because of how the traffic pattern in the police
- 17:21Speaker 2: department just just a phenomenal job getting you out of there.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I've really never never had a problem getting out of
- 17:28Speaker 2: Churchill Downs and so therefore I think that's why they're
- 17:32Speaker 2: so they're elite when it comes to getting traffic in
- 17:34Speaker 2: and out of a place. Now, if it's a freedom all,
- 17:37Speaker 2: that's a completely different story. I think that is the
- 17:40Speaker 2: most the worst design.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Parking lot in the country.
- 17:45Speaker 2: I remember people complaining about U of L football and
- 17:50Speaker 2: basketball games they couldn't get off a ring road, and
- 17:53Speaker 2: what a nightmare that was.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I don't know why they designed it that way.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Trying to figure out which entrance to go in is
- 17:59Speaker 3: one of the hardest things.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think that's the worst design as it goes.
- 18:04Speaker 2: If you want me to complain about anything, I don't
- 18:07Speaker 2: think I have any complaints about going to the Young
- 18:09Speaker 2: Center and getting in and out of there. I've never
- 18:12Speaker 2: really had any issue parking. I've never had any issue
- 18:14Speaker 2: of traffic or anything like that. I think now I
- 18:17Speaker 2: don't go to I've gone to Thunder over Louisville, I
- 18:22Speaker 2: think once or twice downtown one year it was an
- 18:28Speaker 2: absolute disaster. The next year we parked further away and
- 18:31Speaker 2: it was perfect. I think parking there for Thunder was
- 18:36Speaker 2: not desirable.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Parking. Parking further away and walking is always the best.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Option, it is.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I parked a little further away. Now I
- 18:45Speaker 2: parked I got stuck in parking next to h what's
- 18:49Speaker 2: it called the baseball stadium down there, Louis Slugger and
- 18:56Speaker 2: I got trapped in there for over an hour and
- 18:58Speaker 2: a half. That was misery after good music, well exactly.
- 19:02Speaker 2: And at that point I said, I'm never coming back,
- 19:04Speaker 2: and I haven't been back. I don't ever want to
- 19:07Speaker 2: park down there at Slugger Field. And for for thunder
- 19:11Speaker 2: over level to me, that's uh the house. Well, from
- 19:18Speaker 2: my house, no you can hear them. But from my
- 19:20Speaker 2: mom and dad's house, oh, we had perfect My parents'
- 19:24Speaker 2: house was up on top of a hill and then
- 19:25Speaker 2: overlooked all a downtown Louisville in southern Indiana. They had
- 19:29Speaker 2: the perfect spot. And that's what I miss, yeah, because
- 19:32Speaker 2: we would sit right there in the front driveway and
- 19:35Speaker 2: watch perfectly all of the fireworks and the air show
- 19:39Speaker 2: because the air show would come straight down the river
- 19:41Speaker 2: and my parents' house was up there top of that
- 19:43Speaker 2: hill and they would just circle around my parents house.
- 19:45Speaker 2: It was awesome. So yeah, I had for years I
- 19:48Speaker 2: had the best view for thunder over losll Yeah. Yeah
- 19:52Speaker 2: me too, because it's no longer mine, so or my parents.
- 19:55Speaker 2: But anyway, all right, we gotta take a break. I
- 19:58Speaker 2: do want to talk about Cam Williams did an interview
- 20:02Speaker 2: I think it was yesterday and talk about how he
- 20:05Speaker 2: is saying he's preparing the the new players for something.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Uh.
- 20:09Speaker 2: And then this was of course we want to talk
- 20:12Speaker 2: about the home run derby. Was it a success? Was
- 20:14Speaker 2: it a waste of time?
- 20:16Speaker 1: Uh? And uh?
- 20:17Speaker 2: Tubby Smith some great news about him, and I think
- 20:21Speaker 2: it's well deserving. And I got a special announce about
- 20:24Speaker 2: that too when we come back as far as Tubby Smith,
- 20:26Speaker 2: So stay right there. Five O two three four fourteen
- 20:28Speaker 2: fifty you want to join five O two four one
- 20:31Speaker 2: four fourteen fifty?
- 20:31Speaker 1: Want to text in on the Whisky t texline or you.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Tweet me at just the Cat radio lots more Just
- 20:36Speaker 2: the Cat's coming right up, mihy.
- 20:48Speaker 1: You had to pay so.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Hey, maybe won't you lose my way?
- 21:09Speaker 2: I can be your new dishes.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Hi.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Maybe what you gotta.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Say all you'll give s me is fiction.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Imo sabis And this happens.
- 21:22Speaker 5: All the time.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I'll find out that Babo two three eight four fourteen
- 21:28Speaker 2: fifty foe you want to call in fabo two four
- 21:30Speaker 2: one four or fourteen fifty? You want to text in
- 21:31Speaker 2: on the Whiskey feed text line and you tweak me
- 21:33Speaker 2: at just the Cat Radio. Uh Sobby Smith, former University
- 21:40Speaker 2: Kentucky basketball coach, named to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall
- 21:43Speaker 2: of Fame.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I'm excited about that. Of course.
- 21:47Speaker 2: He was ten seasons here at University Kentucky with an
- 21:50Speaker 2: overall record of two hundred and sixty three wins to
- 21:55Speaker 2: eighty three losses. He was the SEC Coach of the
- 21:57Speaker 2: Year three time while he was at Kentucky named National
- 22:03Speaker 2: Coach of the Year back in three And here's the
- 22:06Speaker 2: best part. He's gonna be on with me tomorrow, which
- 22:09Speaker 2: I really looking forward to that. And I talked to
- 22:14Speaker 2: him yesterday afternoon. He said, absolutely, I'll come on with you.
- 22:17Speaker 2: So we're gonna talk at nine o'clock tomorrow morning, and
- 22:21Speaker 2: so hopefully if you want to join in, you can
- 22:24Speaker 2: listen to us at nine o'clock. I mean, I'm trying
- 22:27Speaker 2: to think because I haven't put my thoughts together as
- 22:30Speaker 2: far as what I want to talk about tomorrow. But
- 22:34Speaker 2: I just just thinking out loud justin and I'll let
- 22:38Speaker 2: I tell you what if there are some listeners that
- 22:40Speaker 2: want me to ask him a question, I'll let you
- 22:43Speaker 2: text in and you tell me what you want me
- 22:46Speaker 2: to ask him, and I'll take some of the best
- 22:48Speaker 2: questions and ask Coach Smith some of those questions, even
- 22:53Speaker 2: if it's something I'm a little afraid to ask. Well,
- 22:57Speaker 2: I've really not been afraid to ask anything, have.
- 22:59Speaker 3: I Are you afraid of asking anything?
- 23:02Speaker 4: No?
- 23:03Speaker 2: Probably not. But the only reason I would be hesitant,
- 23:08Speaker 2: you know, I like these people. I liked Mark Stoops,
- 23:11Speaker 2: I liked for a time, I liked John cal Perry,
- 23:14Speaker 2: but when he didn't like me asking questions, it kind
- 23:17Speaker 2: of changed my attitude how I felt about him. So
- 23:20Speaker 2: it's just you shouldn't be afraid to ask the questions,
- 23:23Speaker 2: but you shouldn't be worried about do I want to
- 23:25Speaker 2: remain friends with There were No, But I'm trying to think,
- 23:30Speaker 2: what are some of the things you think I should
- 23:32Speaker 2: bring up? Because we only want to talk about the
- 23:35Speaker 2: Kentucky years? Is that fair to say?
- 23:36Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 23:37Speaker 1: I mean I don't.
- 23:38Speaker 3: I don't wouldn't disagree with maybe asking him, well, was
- 23:43Speaker 3: he still in coaching? No? He got out right.
- 23:46Speaker 1: No, he's out of coaching. Yeah, he retired from High
- 23:50Speaker 1: Point right.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Oh, I was gonna say, how much longer are you
- 23:52Speaker 3: going to do this. Then it popped into my head
- 23:54Speaker 3: that he's not doing no, and he would answer.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Well, I've been out for three years there justin wait
- 23:59Speaker 1: to do you good thing?
- 24:00Speaker 3: We workshop this.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, but no, I just I look at
- 24:08Speaker 2: this and I'm trying to think, what are some of
- 24:10Speaker 2: the highlights that happened to him at Universe of Kentucky.
- 24:14Speaker 3: That's a question right there.
- 24:16Speaker 2: That's well, I think that's perfect. Yes, persons well than yes,
- 24:24Speaker 2: oh absolutely. I've always wondered does he wish he had
- 24:28Speaker 2: won his national championship at the end of his career
- 24:32Speaker 2: at UK or did he like winning at the beginning?
- 24:38Speaker 2: Am I making sense because I've often wondered that.
- 24:41Speaker 3: I would say the beginning because it kind of gave
- 24:43Speaker 3: him a springboard for the rest of his career.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Yes, but you know, on the other hand, it could
- 24:49Speaker 2: have been a build up too. The one thing that
- 24:52Speaker 2: because there's a number of people out there that will say, well,
- 24:56Speaker 2: that really wasn't his title. That was more Rick Bettino's title,
- 24:59Speaker 2: and so if he did separate it out to where
- 25:01Speaker 2: it was towards the end of his tenure at Kentucky,
- 25:04Speaker 2: then maybe more people would give him credit that this
- 25:07Speaker 2: really was his championship and nobody else's.
- 25:12Speaker 3: I mean, I wouldn't think in the mind of a coach,
- 25:15Speaker 3: I wouldn't think that he's bothered by people thinking it
- 25:18Speaker 3: was Rick Patino's team because they had to be coached
- 25:22Speaker 3: and who was the coach that led him to the
- 25:23Speaker 3: Promised Land. It was tough Tobby Smith, and he in
- 25:26Speaker 3: the back of his mind he knows that that would
- 25:29Speaker 3: Rick Patino have won a championship with that group two? Yeah,
- 25:32Speaker 3: probably so. But Tubby was good enough at that in
- 25:35Speaker 3: that juncture of his career to get it done even
- 25:38Speaker 3: if it wasn't his own guys.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Yeah, because I I distinctly remember seeing Rick Patino speak
- 25:45Speaker 2: the year that Tubby Smith was at UK for his
- 25:48Speaker 2: first season, and Rick Petina was bragging more about Billy
- 25:53Speaker 2: Donovan and how Billy Donovan was really because that was
- 25:56Speaker 2: Billy Donald. I think that was Billy Donod's first year
- 25:58Speaker 2: in Florida, and and how well Billy Donovan had just
- 26:03Speaker 2: I think just UK had just lost to Billy Donovan
- 26:06Speaker 2: in Florida and that was unheard of for Florida to
- 26:08Speaker 2: have any success in basketball. I mean, their team was
- 26:12Speaker 2: Steve spurry or in football, and to see that that
- 26:16Speaker 2: happened at that time was kind of a little on
- 26:18Speaker 2: the groundbreaking side. It was something to brag about. Of course,
- 26:21Speaker 2: that was Patino's captain and probably one of his all
- 26:25Speaker 2: time favorite players that become that became a very successful coach.
- 26:29Speaker 2: But you know, you look at the the the coaching tree,
- 26:33Speaker 2: Rick Patino's had a pretty decent coaching tree. I mean,
- 26:36Speaker 2: you still put Billy Donovan in there. You can put
- 26:39Speaker 2: Tubby Smith in there, trying to Ralph Willard. I think
- 26:47Speaker 2: you can put in there who was somewhat successful. He
- 26:50Speaker 2: was definitely successful at Vanderbilt, not necessarily as much as
- 26:54Speaker 2: South Carolina, but he had a pretty decent coaching tree.
- 27:00Speaker 2: So I don't know, maybe I just got to figure
- 27:02Speaker 2: out what are some other questions I need to ask him,
- 27:04Speaker 2: because he's nice en to come on and I'm excited.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I think the timing's perfect with the announcement of him
- 27:11Speaker 2: being named to the Hall of Fame. And I mean,
- 27:14Speaker 2: how do you think the UK fan base looks at
- 27:19Speaker 2: Tubby Smith today?
- 27:21Speaker 3: Well, that's what I was just sitting here thinking. So
- 27:24Speaker 3: he may be the only coach in Kentucky history and
- 27:27Speaker 3: I may be wrong here. Maybe there's instances that I'm
- 27:30Speaker 3: just not privy to, but maybe the only Kentucky coach
- 27:34Speaker 3: that doesn't have any sort of animosity from the fan base, right,
- 27:39Speaker 3: Like you do have a faction of the fan base
- 27:41Speaker 3: that doesn't like Rick Betino because the whole Louisville thing
- 27:45Speaker 3: and the birds up and all that cal Perry, we
- 27:48Speaker 3: know how it is there. I mean, I feel like
- 27:50Speaker 3: if you go through every coach in Kentucky history, there's
- 27:53Speaker 3: some animosity there. But I don't know that you necessarily
- 27:56Speaker 3: have any of that with Tubby Smith, and it feels
- 27:59Speaker 3: like everybody likes Tubby.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Well, I think I think starting with Billy Gillispie, that
- 28:06Speaker 2: would be true. Uh, well, I shouldn't say that Rick Petino,
- 28:12Speaker 2: Eddie Sutton might. Would Eddie Sutton have some animosity towards
- 28:15Speaker 2: the UK fan base nose towards him? Okay, So you
- 28:20Speaker 2: think the fan base had animosity towards Eddie Sutton that
- 28:23Speaker 2: I don't know or joe By Hall. I don't think so.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I don't have no, Yeah, I don't think. I don't
- 28:29Speaker 2: think so under coach Hall. I don't think so under
- 28:33Speaker 2: Eddie Sutton, even though Eddie Sutton left and went to Oklahoma,
- 28:38Speaker 2: And uh hmm, I don't know if I necessarily agree
- 28:42Speaker 2: with that. Yes, with Ricketino, Billy Gillespie, definitely, but I
- 28:47Speaker 2: think I think the whole even Billy Gillispie, I think
- 28:51Speaker 2: the fan base is kind of reverted and they get
- 28:54Speaker 2: to a point where they kind of feel bad for
- 28:56Speaker 2: Billy Gillissie.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Was there ever a point where with Tubby Smith people
- 29:00Speaker 3: turned on him?
- 29:02Speaker 1: Oh? Absolutely, Oh yes, oh yeah, oh.
- 29:08Speaker 2: The fan base got to a point where the offense
- 29:12Speaker 2: was boring. I mean one of the famous comments by
- 29:16Speaker 2: Rondo is like, coach, just let me change the offense,
- 29:19Speaker 2: and and and Tubby Smith was so conservative with his
- 29:22Speaker 2: offense he would not listen to and have it more
- 29:25Speaker 2: of an upbeat up, run gun type of offense that
- 29:29Speaker 2: wanted to run, which I mean, I can see a
- 29:33Speaker 2: lot of fans getting upset with that because look at
- 29:35Speaker 2: the career that had in the NBA running that type
- 29:41Speaker 2: of offense that he wanted to run. Would it had
- 29:43Speaker 2: been a different team, it might have been, But Tubby
- 29:46Speaker 2: was the coach and you had to listen to what
- 29:48Speaker 2: he said. And I respect Rondo for listening to the coach, But.
- 29:51Speaker 3: I don't feel like it was one of those things
- 29:54Speaker 3: that when he left, everybody was all in their feels about.
- 29:58Speaker 2: It, like like no, well, yeah, that part I don't understand.
- 30:03Speaker 2: I mean, every coach has said, including Joby Hall, ten
- 30:09Speaker 2: years you make it, it might be time to leave.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Rick Patino would have agreed with that, even though he
- 30:15Speaker 2: didn't make it to ten years. I don't know if
- 30:17Speaker 2: John Caliperry would agree to it. I think he wanted
- 30:20Speaker 2: to finish his coaching career. There's so many different stories,
- 30:24Speaker 2: and I'm hoping somebody writes a truthful book, unbiased book
- 30:29Speaker 2: about what really went down between Mitch Barnhardt and John
- 30:34Speaker 2: cal Perry and why John cali Perry left, because I've
- 30:38Speaker 2: heard I've started to heard here the stories as far
- 30:41Speaker 2: as well, cal was bluffing and he really wanted to
- 30:44Speaker 2: come back to Kentucky and Mitch wouldn't let him so,
- 30:48Speaker 2: And so I don't know if that's true or not.
- 30:50Speaker 2: I have no idea, but you look back at that
- 30:53Speaker 2: and you think, hmm, that makes kind of sense. I
- 30:57Speaker 2: can see an employee bluffing that they're going to leave
- 31:03Speaker 2: and then expecting that his boss would want all the wait, wait, wait,
- 31:07Speaker 2: we want you to come back when and welcomes in
- 31:10Speaker 2: with open arms. Okay, well, don't don't do something like that,
- 31:16Speaker 2: but uh, nobody, nobody knows what you just did. Don't
- 31:20Speaker 2: say something like that unless you want to say that.
- 31:23Speaker 2: I'm okay, that's what I figured. But then on the
- 31:26Speaker 2: other hand, here we go with Cal supposedly bluffing and
- 31:32Speaker 2: then Mitch saying no, and then Cal has no other
- 31:35Speaker 2: choice but to go to Arkansas. I mean, I truthfully,
- 31:38Speaker 2: I could see something like that happening. Whether or not
- 31:41Speaker 2: it's true or not, I just don't know.
- 31:43Speaker 3: You know what, I just realized that I'm really happy about.
- 31:46Speaker 3: We don't have to talk about Mitch Barnheart anymore. And
- 31:49Speaker 3: that's so great. It is really Yeah.
- 31:54Speaker 2: I just and now the fact that he's still getting
- 31:58Speaker 2: what was it reported last week three million dollars as
- 32:01Speaker 2: a retirement, which I don't understand.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I'm not doing that goofy job, right, He's still got
- 32:07Speaker 1: some kind of part time job they reported.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I just I don't Yeah, he's got I don't know
- 32:12Speaker 2: what the goofy part time job he's keeping.
- 32:16Speaker 3: I thought they said they were going to do that.
- 32:18Speaker 2: They're not doing that, that he's got some other part
- 32:21Speaker 2: time job. You know the funny part. Everybody complained about it,
- 32:25Speaker 2: and yet he's still walking away with uh money and
- 32:28Speaker 2: a part time job.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Why are you? Look, why are you retiring if you
- 32:31Speaker 3: still want to work? You don't want to work, You
- 32:34Speaker 3: just want the money, exactly. I I, for the life
- 32:38Speaker 3: of me, I understand absolutely none of it. So uh,
- 32:42Speaker 3: I am I'm like you.
- 32:44Speaker 2: I mean, I think, Uh, Mitch Barnhard did a really
- 32:47Speaker 2: good job at Kentucky, but it got to a point
- 32:49Speaker 2: where it's time for you to go. Just like with
- 32:52Speaker 2: uh the president of university. I think he's done a
- 32:55Speaker 2: great job. It's time for him to go, and uh
- 32:58Speaker 2: he's gonna get some kind of week deal that they
- 33:01Speaker 2: put them for themselves.
- 33:03Speaker 1: And I don't like that.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I don't think that's fair, especially when you've laid off
- 33:06Speaker 2: a lot of people at that university and here these
- 33:09Speaker 2: top two guys are getting all these millions to walk away.
- 33:11Speaker 2: I think that's wrong. Nothing, nothing, exactly, And that's what
- 33:18Speaker 2: I don't like. I don't like how the university has
- 33:22Speaker 2: been run over the past few years. And it's just
- 33:25Speaker 2: it's absolutely wrong. Mitch Barnhardt should have walked away with
- 33:28Speaker 2: no money, no part time job anything. He got his
- 33:31Speaker 2: money while he was working there. You don't get millions
- 33:34Speaker 2: of dollars when you walk away from a job.
- 33:35Speaker 1: You just don't.
- 33:37Speaker 2: I didn't, Well, I sold a business, but yeah that's different.
- 33:42Speaker 2: But I mean, you just don't do that. He didn't
- 33:44Speaker 2: sell a business, he didn't do anything. He just walked
- 33:47Speaker 2: away from his job in the salary and he should
- 33:49Speaker 2: have and that would have been it. He didn't get
- 33:51Speaker 2: season tickets for life or any of that stuff. It's
- 33:54Speaker 2: just ridiculous. But anyway, I'm low man totem polled and
- 33:58Speaker 2: I don't get that. Say so, so let's let's talk
- 34:01Speaker 2: about a couple other things. But tomorrow at nine o'clock,
- 34:04Speaker 2: I hope everybody tunes in. Tell your friends Tubby Smith
- 34:07Speaker 2: is going to be on with us, and I think
- 34:09Speaker 2: it'll be a fun interview. All right, let's go ahead
- 34:11Speaker 2: and take another break. When we come back. Cam Williams
- 34:15Speaker 2: has been doing some interviews and he's been talking about
- 34:18Speaker 2: how he's trying to teach these new players something. I
- 34:22Speaker 2: want to talk about that. And then we got to
- 34:23Speaker 2: talk about the home run derby, which was a good
- 34:27Speaker 2: broadcast last night, and then Lamar Jackson, what are his
- 34:31Speaker 2: where are his peers ranking him in the NFL? I
- 34:36Speaker 2: think is gonna be a fun topic. We'll talk about
- 34:38Speaker 2: that too soon as we get back.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Stay right there. More justin kats coming up. Everybody's too much.
- 34:45Speaker 1: It's not with the.
- 35:00Speaker 5: I got a season glass when a name for now
- 35:24Speaker 5: in the morning, sleep.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Sweep the streets.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Fabo two three four fourteen fifty. You want to call
- 35:34Speaker 2: Fabo two four one four fourteen fifty. You want to
- 35:36Speaker 2: text in on the whisky Thief text line? All right,
- 35:38Speaker 2: let me get to a few of these uh texts
- 35:41Speaker 2: that we've gotten in.
- 35:42Speaker 1: UH.
- 35:42Speaker 2: One person said, did you read this one? Because this
- 35:44Speaker 2: came on during your show. It was referring to me. Michael,
- 35:48Speaker 2: I thought you did read that. Okay, okay, Michael, I
- 35:51Speaker 2: thought you were referencing Wheezy on Toy Story two, who
- 35:55Speaker 2: had a broken squeaker you familiar with. I'm very familiar
- 35:59Speaker 2: with we I do. Yeah, but Weezer. I was saying Weezy,
- 36:04Speaker 2: No Wheezy from Toy Story too. Oh, it's it's it's
- 36:07Speaker 2: still okay. I got it good?
- 36:10Speaker 1: All right? Then I thought it was Weezer. Yeah, great band.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Was it Weezer that sang the song by Toto Africa?
- 36:23Speaker 3: I think it was.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I think it was. Remember that was who was the
- 36:28Speaker 1: head coach at the time.
- 36:29Speaker 2: It had the former football player and they had just
- 36:32Speaker 2: beaten Kentucky and basketball and they were celebrating at a
- 36:35Speaker 2: party and he looked ridiculous. Eric Wood was sitting down
- 36:39Speaker 2: and the head coach was behind him. He's now at USF.
- 36:42Speaker 2: What's that guy's name. That's how quickly I forget that
- 36:46Speaker 2: guy's name. Yeah, it's it's irrelevant. Don't even worry about it, Zach, Oh,
- 36:50Speaker 2: it's your brother. Okay, Hey, Butter Bennett, don't forget to
- 36:54Speaker 2: focus on the family. Oh geez, you had to remind
- 36:59Speaker 2: me of he call me, Butter Bennett.
- 37:02Speaker 3: I can't remember why. That's why. That's the thing.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you never did give him my phone number, did you?
- 37:09Speaker 3: I did?
- 37:09Speaker 1: Oh, you did. He's never called me.
- 37:11Speaker 3: That's on him. There you go exactly. He's working with
- 37:15Speaker 3: my dad making a bunch of money.
- 37:16Speaker 2: I can't help you find a job if you don't
- 37:18Speaker 2: call me. But uh, yeah, focus on family. Why why
- 37:22Speaker 2: is he referencing that? What was I talking about when
- 37:24Speaker 2: Uh no, that's Those are the commercials that play between
- 37:27Speaker 2: our ships. I know that, But why is he telling
- 37:29Speaker 2: me to don't forget focus on family?
- 37:32Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Okay, well I'm asking you, and you should know that
- 37:35Speaker 2: your brother, you should You should know everything about your brother.
- 37:40Speaker 3: He's a quirky guy. I don't know.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Those focus on family things creep me out. I don't
- 37:47Speaker 1: know why you like it.
- 37:49Speaker 3: When I get married and have kids, I'm going to
- 37:51Speaker 3: have a solid foundation because of those.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Oh geez, no you're not.
- 37:55Speaker 2: You're going to have the wildest family in the world
- 37:57Speaker 2: that's going to be building decks, wanting to play in
- 37:59Speaker 2: gamble on the golf course. So, uh no, the focus
- 38:02Speaker 2: on family thing just creeps me out. I've never liked
- 38:05Speaker 2: those commercials. Okay, So just to let you know, John here,
- 38:10Speaker 2: let's see, let me get to make sure I get
- 38:11Speaker 2: to the right one here.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Oh boy? Uh just the Cat's crew.
- 38:15Speaker 2: The impact of permanent daylight savings time on Indiana hunting.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Do you okay?
- 38:22Speaker 2: Now, now we're talking about something the morning lost. Because
- 38:28Speaker 2: legal hunting requires sunlight, the morning start time shifts later
- 38:31Speaker 2: on the clock, causing hunter has missed the critical dawn
- 38:35Speaker 2: transition when deer head to their bedding areas. It won't
- 38:40Speaker 2: change dear behavior, but it will force hunters to trade
- 38:43Speaker 2: a prime morning hunting hour for an extra hour in
- 38:47Speaker 2: the evening.
- 38:47Speaker 1: So I am not sure if I am in favor
- 38:50Speaker 1: of it.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Are you a hunter?
- 38:52Speaker 1: John? Clearly, John is a hunter. I know he fishes.
- 38:56Speaker 3: I didn't know.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Oh really, are you a hunter? Used to be I
- 39:01Speaker 2: used to go deer hunting on a regular basis. It
- 39:03Speaker 2: just got to a point where was kind of boring.
- 39:05Speaker 2: I'm just I'm sitting. Yeah, I mean it's don't get.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Me wrong, it's gorgeous sitting out in nature.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:12Speaker 3: I love hearing the sounds of nature. All that stuff's
- 39:14Speaker 3: all fine and dandy. But I can't sit there for
- 39:18Speaker 3: hours on end. And what did me in was having
- 39:21Speaker 3: to feel dressed the first year I ever got that.
- 39:25Speaker 3: I'm good.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Oh really, I'm good on all that.
- 39:27Speaker 3: I don't need to do that anymore.
- 39:29Speaker 1: I guess because I worked in my entire career in surgery.
- 39:33Speaker 1: It never bothered me.
- 39:34Speaker 2: I thought it was disgusted. Really, okay, I mean, how
- 39:38Speaker 2: do you think you're getting your meat?
- 39:40Speaker 1: No?
- 39:40Speaker 3: I know, I know the process of all this stuff.
- 39:43Speaker 2: I just I don't personally want to you don't be
- 39:46Speaker 2: involved exactly, Okay, okay, all right, fair enough. I just
- 39:49Speaker 2: think that you know, if you're going out there to
- 39:51Speaker 2: do something to an animal, the least you could do
- 39:54Speaker 2: is respect it and go out there and clean it.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, but so I like squirrel hunting a
- 39:58Speaker 3: lot more, just because it's more entertaining. You get you
- 40:01Speaker 3: would like walk around and you're always moving, and if
- 40:04Speaker 3: you do get a couple of them, they're much easier
- 40:07Speaker 3: to see.
- 40:09Speaker 2: And I enjoy I enjoy dove pheasant and turkey hunting.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Turkey hunting some serious strategy because you know, they have
- 40:19Speaker 2: an unbelievable eyesight, and there is a lot of strategy
- 40:24Speaker 2: with turkey hunting. Well, that was probably one of the
- 40:26Speaker 2: most fun I've ever had in a long time with
- 40:29Speaker 2: turkey hunting, and we didn't even get a shot off.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Close to them.
- 40:34Speaker 3: Is there anything that you haven't hunted that you want
- 40:37Speaker 3: to duck?
- 40:39Speaker 1: Okay, I've never gone duck hunting, and I've always wanted
- 40:43Speaker 1: to go. What's that gator hunting? Why do you want
- 40:47Speaker 1: to go gator hunting?
- 40:49Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 40:50Speaker 1: That's extremely dangerous exactly.
- 40:53Speaker 3: That's why I want to do it. Like that, Wow,
- 40:56Speaker 3: thrill you would get from that must be incredible.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I listen.
- 41:00Speaker 2: I would love to because I hear that Western Kentucky
- 41:04Speaker 2: is a great area to go duck hunting.
- 41:06Speaker 1: I've just never done it, and I've always wanted to
- 41:08Speaker 1: do it.
- 41:08Speaker 3: You should do it.
- 41:09Speaker 1: So yeah.
- 41:10Speaker 2: And by the way, did you see where Paducah, Kentucky
- 41:12Speaker 2: was nominated as one of the great small towns really
- 41:17Speaker 2: in the United States, which I thought was pretty cool. Congratulations,
- 41:21Speaker 2: saw my friends down in Paducah. I used to be
- 41:24Speaker 2: on the air down there at the old station, and
- 41:27Speaker 2: I got a lot of great listeners down there. I
- 41:29Speaker 2: think some of them still listen. If they don't listen loud,
- 41:32Speaker 2: they're listening to the podcast. One guy's a incredible musician
- 41:37Speaker 2: that listens on a pretty regular basis, and he's got
- 41:40Speaker 2: his own album out and I'm happy to talk about that.
- 41:42Speaker 4: But h.
- 41:44Speaker 1: And I can't remember his name right now. I think I.
- 41:50Speaker 4: Know.
- 41:51Speaker 2: I think it's Daryl and really nice guy and he
- 41:54Speaker 2: puts out a Christian album and I thought, Wow, this
- 41:57Speaker 2: guy's really talented.
- 41:58Speaker 1: So there you go. I talked about your album.
- 42:01Speaker 2: I just can't. I'll look it up during the break. Okay,
- 42:04Speaker 2: I'll look it up during the break, and I'll tell
- 42:05Speaker 2: you what his name is. You can go look up
- 42:06Speaker 2: his music. But big, big Christian guitarist and Dan in Paducah.
- 42:11Speaker 2: So I think it's cool that Paducah got mentioned there
- 42:14Speaker 2: because listen, Western Kentucky is underrated. I think it's one
- 42:21Speaker 2: of the prettiest places in our country. I just let
- 42:24Speaker 2: because everything changes once you get past Eatown. It's a
- 42:27Speaker 2: completely different part of the state. It's completely different than
- 42:31Speaker 2: East And that's not taken away from Eastern Kentucky because
- 42:34Speaker 2: I think Eastern Kentucky is beautiful.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Bridge.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Oh yeah, our state offers a lot, it really does.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Between the natural bridge that's East. Yeah, that place is cool.
- 42:47Speaker 2: I've never been to Mammoth Cave. Have you ever been
- 42:49Speaker 2: to Mammoth Cave. I've never been there before. I've always
- 42:54Speaker 2: wanted to go, and I've just and I'm trying to think,
- 42:57Speaker 2: what are the things in our state that people should see.
- 43:01Speaker 2: I was talking to somebody when I was traveling back
- 43:05Speaker 2: from Denver the other day, and they said that one
- 43:09Speaker 2: of the things that they were disappointing in when they
- 43:12Speaker 2: lived in Kentucky for a couple of years is that
- 43:14Speaker 2: they did not do the Bourbon Trail. So I think
- 43:18Speaker 2: you've got the Bourbon Trail. Obviously, you've got Horse Country
- 43:22Speaker 2: and Churchill Downs in Keenland. Those are probably the three
- 43:27Speaker 2: iconic things of Kentucky. Is that fair to say? I
- 43:31Speaker 2: would yeah, maybe so. I mean, although I feel like
- 43:36Speaker 2: Mammoth Cave deserves the spot well, and that's all I
- 43:39Speaker 2: was getting ready to go. But the three most iconic
- 43:43Speaker 2: I think Mammoth Cave would be there. I think Natural
- 43:46Speaker 2: Bridge would be there. And I think there's the two
- 43:50Speaker 2: lakes Blake Barkley and Lake Kentucky and Land between the
- 43:54Speaker 2: lakes that's the other spot. And there's that Ah, there's
- 43:59Speaker 2: that restaurant that's really famous down in western Kentucky. Oh,
- 44:04Speaker 2: I can't think of it. It's got some of the
- 44:06Speaker 2: best porch chumps ever head in my life. But but
- 44:09Speaker 2: other than that, what is Kentucky known for.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Basketball?
- 44:17Speaker 2: No, I'm talking about if you're yeah, that's what we're
- 44:20Speaker 2: gonna put on our tourist board, come to Kentucky and
- 44:22Speaker 2: watch basketball.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Come on, all right? A slugger field all or a
- 44:27Speaker 1: slugger museum slugger bats.
- 44:29Speaker 3: Yeah, just baseball bats.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Plugger Museum exactly. Is there anything else outside of those things?
- 44:35Speaker 2: If you were on the tourist board to try and
- 44:37Speaker 2: get people can come to Kentucky, what are you promoting
- 44:40Speaker 2: Cave Hill Cemetery?
- 44:43Speaker 1: Why would you say Cave Hill?
- 44:45Speaker 3: Are there a lot of like celebrities and famous people
- 44:48Speaker 3: buried in there? Well, there are attraction. I mean, it's
- 44:51Speaker 3: not for me because I don't I don't do cemeteries.
- 44:54Speaker 3: They creep me out. I feel like I'm gonna sink.
- 44:57Speaker 2: But I feel like the most famous cemetery is probably
- 44:59Speaker 2: the ones out in LA. People want to go see
- 45:02Speaker 2: the cemeteries of those stars. But all right, so yeah,
- 45:06Speaker 2: Cave Hill because of the fact you've got Colonel Sanders there,
- 45:10Speaker 2: You've got Muhammad Ali there, Denny Crumb is there. But
- 45:14Speaker 2: I think that's more of a local thing with Denny Crumb.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Colonel Sanders and Muhammad Ali are known throughout the world.
- 45:24Speaker 2: But I think that's kind of it, isn't it. I
- 45:27Speaker 2: have no idea either. So okay, well that was a
- 45:30Speaker 2: crazy topic right there. John said, you know, sometimes some
- 45:35Speaker 2: cat fans say Tubby Smith won the National Championship with
- 45:39Speaker 2: the team that coach Patino put together. I wonder how
- 45:42Speaker 2: the coach, Tubby Smith feels about that statement. I do
- 45:46Speaker 2: not necessarily agree, but it has been said. We talked
- 45:48Speaker 2: about that for a little bit. I think that's a
- 45:51Speaker 2: really nice question to ask and how he would respond.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Does it bother him that some people say that you
- 45:57Speaker 2: think that would offend him or you think that's an
- 45:59Speaker 2: okay question to ask him.
- 46:01Speaker 3: That's a great question. I have no idea whether that
- 46:05Speaker 3: would whether he.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Come on the show.
- 46:07Speaker 2: I don't want to sit here and offendom, but well,
- 46:12Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm gonna have to think about that.
- 46:14Speaker 2: I think I'm going to ask it, but I have
- 46:16Speaker 2: to I got to warm him up first before we
- 46:18Speaker 2: get into something like that.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Wouldn't be the first question he might say. You know,
- 46:22Speaker 1: what I came on the show is just to be
- 46:24Speaker 1: nice to you.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Mike.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Click yeah, and just be completely done. All right.
- 46:28Speaker 2: We'll get more to your tex soon as we get back.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Our two coming right up, stay right there more Just
- 46:33Speaker 2: Cats coming up.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Five O two three eight four fourteen fifty five oh
- 47:11Speaker 2: two four one four fourteen fifty one Text in on
- 47:14Speaker 2: the whiskey pef text liner or and tweet me it
- 47:15Speaker 2: just got ready everything okay over there.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I have no idea what you were just doing.
- 47:19Speaker 3: I had to open up some audio real quick, so
- 47:22Speaker 3: I couldn't open your mic because I had to open
- 47:24Speaker 3: that audio.
- 47:25Speaker 2: And okay, that kind of freaked me out. I didn't
- 47:28Speaker 2: I didn't know what was going on there, but you said,
- 47:30Speaker 2: hold on, you've never done that before.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Normally I opened the audio during the break, but I
- 47:34Speaker 3: was slacking.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I was, well, I just worried.
- 47:37Speaker 2: It's like, okay, I've I've truly jinked the technical side
- 47:40Speaker 2: of the show since I've been teasing the whole jinks
- 47:43Speaker 2: part because I just don't believe in jinks. I'd never have,
- 47:47Speaker 2: never will And and it's like, okay, if this is
- 47:49Speaker 2: going to start happening again, then I'm gonna have to
- 47:52Speaker 2: start believing that there is a JINX.
- 47:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm I'm I believe in jinks in certain situations,
- 47:59Speaker 3: but more do not. I'm with you. I don't believe
- 48:02Speaker 3: it all right.
- 48:03Speaker 2: I have to know now, because you brought it up.
- 48:05Speaker 2: What certain situations are you referring to?
- 48:08Speaker 1: Then?
- 48:09Speaker 2: Is it the whole free throw thing with the announcers,
- 48:11Speaker 2: and that's that one very much.
- 48:14Speaker 3: So that is one of them. Yeah, I mean it
- 48:16Speaker 3: feels like more times than not, I'll be on the
- 48:17Speaker 3: call of a game and I'll say some eight for
- 48:20Speaker 3: eight from the line and every freaking time.
- 48:25Speaker 2: All right, So what is another situation that you firmly
- 48:29Speaker 2: believe jinx works?
- 48:30Speaker 3: Majority of my jinxes all pertain to sports, Like if
- 48:34Speaker 3: I make a certain statement during like even watching a
- 48:39Speaker 3: game of my favorite team, like oh, we'll go down
- 48:41Speaker 3: and get a field goal here. Oh, they'll turn it
- 48:43Speaker 3: over ten times out of ten they'll turn it over.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Yeah, anytime you pick Kentucky to lose, I'm putting all
- 48:50Speaker 2: the money and.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Putting all the money down. I'm Kentucky one. I think
- 48:56Speaker 1: I would love to go back. I'm not going to
- 48:59Speaker 1: do it.
- 49:00Speaker 2: But the amount of times that you have picked Kentucky
- 49:03Speaker 2: to lose and the absolute opposite happens, it's gotta be
- 49:08Speaker 2: in in the nine out of ten times you were
- 49:11Speaker 2: absolutely wrong. Because definitely the Tennessee games, I think the
- 49:17Speaker 2: Arkansas game this past year, it's and it's been all
- 49:20Speaker 2: it's been all uh basketball, I'm bad. You have been
- 49:23Speaker 2: so bad about picking Kentucky to win or lose. I'm
- 49:25Speaker 2: bad in about nine.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I love that. That's a good one right there. But
- 49:33Speaker 1: you know what, it's Tuesday, and you know what that means,
- 49:35Speaker 1: don't you?
- 49:36Speaker 3: Justin?
- 49:38Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know why I can hear that music,
- 49:54Speaker 1: but the rest of the time I can't hear that music.
- 49:56Speaker 1: But anyway, it's kind of.
- 49:57Speaker 2: Crazy, Corey Price, good morning to you. I I you know,
- 50:01Speaker 2: I know apologies are needed this morning because you would
- 50:03Speaker 2: ask can you skip and go tomorrow? And I'm like,
- 50:06Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, okay, great, and then all of a sudden,
- 50:09Speaker 2: I remember, no, you can't, and I'm so sorry that
- 50:12Speaker 2: we had to drag you in this morning.
- 50:14Speaker 6: It's okay, I guess if I have to be uh
- 50:18Speaker 6: knocked off or somebody, it's uh coach Smith. So it's
- 50:21Speaker 6: that's fine, so good.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say that's a pretty good excuse Withn't
- 50:24Speaker 2: that that? You know, It's like, Corey, I'm so sorry
- 50:27Speaker 2: I can't do it tomorrow. I've got Coach Tubby Smith
- 50:30Speaker 2: coming on the show. Can you imagine if I called
- 50:33Speaker 2: Tubby Smith and said, Coach, I'm sorry you can't come
- 50:36Speaker 2: on tomorrow. Can you make it Tuesday, because Corey Price
- 50:38Speaker 2: has to be he'd be like, who.
- 50:41Speaker 1: You're right? So I am totally fine, totally fine with it.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'm sorry about that. I don't know what
- 50:49Speaker 2: the reason was, it's none of my business, but maybe
- 50:52Speaker 2: justin it's because he had to run down to Eatown
- 50:55Speaker 2: go see his girlfriend. Something was going on with his
- 50:57Speaker 2: girlfriend and Elizabethtown.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Or maybe or maybe he just wanted to be here
- 51:01Speaker 3: for our special day tomorrow.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Oh oh, I go. Do you want to tell everybody
- 51:08Speaker 1: what our special day is tomorrow?
- 51:10Speaker 3: Something tells me that the list Corey has today, we'll
- 51:13Speaker 3: bring that up.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Oh really, you were actually are wrong, but it's fun.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Oh okay, well, since Corey's not gonna cover it, tomorrow's
- 51:20Speaker 3: ar to your anniversary.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Whoo. That's hard to believe.
- 51:24Speaker 2: That is hard to believe because I can tell you
- 51:27Speaker 2: I don't remember what we talked about, but I certainly
- 51:29Speaker 2: remember the day two years ago. And then the funny
- 51:32Speaker 2: part is I left the next day, had to be
- 51:35Speaker 2: in Orlando, Florida, which I thought was funny. I've spent
- 51:38Speaker 2: one day with you and then you're like looking at me,
- 51:41Speaker 2: who is this? But anyway, all right, Corey Price I
- 51:47Speaker 2: appreciate you reminding us tomorrow's our two year anniversaries. If
- 51:50Speaker 2: it weren't for you, we wouldn't know this.
- 51:52Speaker 1: And you're gonna have Tubby on to you know, mark
- 51:57Speaker 1: the two years. That's great. Yeah, exactly.
- 51:59Speaker 2: I think Tubby Smith realized that it was our two
- 52:03Speaker 2: year anniversary and he said, you know what, what a
- 52:05Speaker 2: nice gift I could give to Michael and Justin. I'll
- 52:07Speaker 2: come on their show for their two year anniversary. Tubby's
- 52:10Speaker 2: just that that kind of guy, you know, Yes, he oh, absolutely.
- 52:13Speaker 2: I As far as former coaches, I would expect he
- 52:18Speaker 2: is probably the most, the nicest and probably well liked,
- 52:23Speaker 2: is that of all of them, with the exception of
- 52:26Speaker 2: maybe Joby Hall that that goes with that question. He's

- 57:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I just I'm the closest I got to watch
- 57:04Speaker 2: the Stop It. The closest I got to watching that
- 57:06Speaker 2: movie was the remake of star Skiing Hutch with Ben
- 57:09Speaker 2: Stiller and Owen Wilson. Yeah, when they kind of did
- 57:12Speaker 2: the whole you know that famous scene where they're riding
- 57:15Speaker 2: the motorcycles down the road that uh, Peter Fonda and
- 57:19Speaker 2: whoever the other guy was. That's as close as I

- 59:04Speaker 1: Is that hair gel Well, not quite.
- 59:10Speaker 2: That. That's not my passion is working with I mean,
- 59:15Speaker 2: that's probably the most iconic part right there, is when
- 59:19Speaker 2: Matt Dillon is talking about who he loves to work with.
- 59:22Speaker 2: I mean, it's just isn't that a little uh something
- 59:26Speaker 2: you shouldn't say today? I just Matt Dillon was funny. Chris, Oh,
- 59:31Speaker 2: what's the other comedian in there? Chris that used to
- 59:36Speaker 2: be on David Letterman. What's his name?
- 59:38Speaker 1: Chris Elliott? Chris Elliott? Thank you? Was iconic?
- 59:42Speaker 2: Have you ever seen a ZiT on your eyeball before?
- 59:45Speaker 2: I mean, it's just there are so many things. You

- 59:52Speaker 1: Yes?
- 59:52Speaker 2: That's Chris Elliott. Oh, I love him. He was also
- 59:57Speaker 2: the mayor of Poop Town Poop's Creek. Have you ever
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: heard Chris Elliott? Have you ever heard of eight minute abs?
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: What about seven minute abs?
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: I forgot about that one. That's awesome.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Yes that that that's an even better line right there.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: That The film is amazing, Oh it is.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: The Fairly brothers are are absolutely some of my favorite directors.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Every movie they've made have just been phenomenal.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: And it came out on July fifteenth, which is the
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: date of your first show. So ah, look at that.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Nice that was a few years earlier. What year did
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: it come out in? Nineteen ninety eight? Ninety good gosh, that.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: Was a long time to get years before your first show. Yeah,
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: that's just yeah, that's all. But that was a fantastic movie.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: I mean that I just loved everybody in that movie.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: They just did an incredible job. And I believe Cameron
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Diaz's dad made a little part of the movie is
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: well from the jail scene, I did not know that,
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: and he did not. He does not even come close
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: to looking like what his daughter looks like. That's a
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: good thing or bad thing. It's yeah, I don't know either.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: But because I think she's very pretty and her dad's not, well,
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: that's nice of you to say. Yeah, but he had
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: a he had a quick cameo in it. Well, I mean,
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: I'm not married to her, so I can say it.
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: July sixteenth, nineteen ninety three, the fantasy comedy film hocus
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: Pocus is Real. Listen fitters pass, I've seen it. Yeah,
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: I've seen it too. It's kind of it's kind of
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: been like a like a cult classic. I think, is
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: it really Yeah, it's I didn't realize that it's it's
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: gained some some traction here.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Directed by Kenny Ortega, it stars Thora birch
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Omri Katz, Bette Midler, Sean Murray, Kathy the Jimmy Sarah,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: Jessica Parker, and Vanessa Shaw.
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: Film grosser approximately forty six point two million dollars domestically,
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: think at the thirty fourth highest rushing the film of
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: nineteen ninety three, and the film was Nombly for five
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: Saturn Awards, winning won for Best Costumes.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: I think a fun list would be the top twenty
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: cult classics. I bet that'd be a great list you
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: could put together.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Number one would have to be, uh, Rocky Horror. I
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: would say, oh.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: Wow, And unfortunately I'd probably have to be right there
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: with you, or think the Big the Big Lebowski would
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: be right up there with it.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Rocky Horror's tops in my opinion. I'm
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: not disagreeing, I'm just saying it would be right up
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: there with it.
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: July seventeenth, nineteen eighty seven, the sci fi action film
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: Rogocop is reas Go Big Fans of Yes. Directed by

- 1:03:33Speaker 6: Best Special Effects, and Best Writing.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: They cleaned Up.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it had a RoboCop action figure. Probably
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: growing up.
- 1:03:42Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure it's pretty pretty big back then. Last
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: one July eighteenth, nineteen ninety, the horror comedy film oh
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: Rachnophobia is Reavisent theaters. If y'all don't don't don't like spiders?
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: No?
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Probably not? No, absolutely not.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: What's wrong with spiders?
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: I I know I don't like spiders. No I'm not.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: I mean I did watch the film, but I'm not
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: a big fan of them either. You like spiders? Is
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: that what you're saying, Justine?
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: I mean, they're fine. I don't like. I'm not one
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: of those people. And if I see a spider in
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: my house, I'm not gonna kill it. I'm just gonna
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: let it, let it do its thing. It's fine.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: You're gonna leave it.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: In your house, Yeah, it's yeah, I'm getting rid of it. No,
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: that's that's why you have exterminators. No, I don't want
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: spiders in my house.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Uh isn't Arnold Schwarzbaker and exterminator.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Heyo?
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Oh wow, I'll be here all week, oh yeah, and
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: nobody will show up with that kind of and then
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: next week, Corey, you'll be back. It was directed by
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: Frank Marshall and his debut as a director, starring Jeff Daniels,

- 1:05:10Speaker 2: Film was number for five Saturn Awards, winning two for
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: Best Actor and Best Horror Film.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: And that's sific this week. Perfect.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: I like that list right there, especially you know the
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: Fairly Brothers. I mean, I could talk about them famous
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Fairly Brothers movies. There's a bunch of them out there
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: that they did, and I just like the stuff that
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: they do. I think it's funny. And anytime they use
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: Chris Elliott, Matt Dylon, Ben Stiller, I think that's just
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: I'm sorry they haven't used those guys again.
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I guess miss might be a little
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: little too big form. Plus he kind of does he
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: directs his his own stuff.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Now, Oh does he really?
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: I didn't realize that, Yeah, because you know, Matt Dillon's
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: brother was in what was that other Entourage?
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Oh that's right? Yeah, Yeah, did y'all ever watch Entourage?
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: A little bit of it. It was a great show.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: I love the show, and I thought it was a
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: great movie.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: But Fairly Brothers also did Kingpin and Dumb and Dummer.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: And that's exactly why I love it. Yeah, I loved Kingpin.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: Dumb and Dumber didn't.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Do it for me. Oh, you can't be serious right now. Yeah,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: I'm sorry about that. Is the grass comedy of all time,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: and it's I mean.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: Close now one of There are other movies I feel
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: the same about. Michael, Me, Myself and Irene.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm kind of right there because that was
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Owen Wilson, wasn't it?
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: And Matt Dillon I believe I can't remember right of
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: me myself and Irene was Jim Jim Carrey.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: I tried it was Jim Carrey. I'm mixing up with
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: another show. Yes, you're right about that, but eh, I'm
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: right there. It's just an okay. I think my problem
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: is I was never really a Jim Carrey fan.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: Oh. And then I came to a point where I started, really,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: Michael hurts me. What's that that hurts me? Saying you
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: weren't a fan of Jim?
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Oh see I am Now I think he's all right.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: I'll tell you some of the best movies that Jim
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: Carrey made, the one where uh.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: He lived in a bubble, The.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Truman Show, The Truman Show, that's it, and the other
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: one I did enjoy liar liar, yep. And I enjoyed
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: when he played the former comedian that died of cancer.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: Man on the Moon. Oh yeah, that.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: I thought that was his best role, and I thought
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: he did a phenomenal job. Did you ever see Man
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: on the Moon justin.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: I don't think I have seen that. But my best
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: Jim Carrey roles Evan Almighty for sure, or Bruce Almighty
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: whatever the first one was.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: I think it's Bruce Musher.
- 1:07:59Speaker 5: There.
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: There was a doc on Jim Carrey playing Kaufman for
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: the film, and it's it's crazy. He was so into
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: the character and he and he didn't stop when you know,
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: the when he was it wasn't on film, it was.
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: It was bizarre how much he became coffin for the film.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: Yeah, well, yeah, well the whole Man on the Moon.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: They said that he was playing Andy Kaufman the whole time,
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: You're right, And it's just that was just amazing how
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: he was able to do that so anyway, I just
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: off camera. I think the older he's gotten, the more
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: I've become to really like him because he says a
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: lot of the things that I think everybody wants to say.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: It's like, oh, like I think he had that famous
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: interview at the met Gala where he says, oh, we're
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: celebrating celebrities. Nobody cares what I'm gonna say. I mean,
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: I love how he talks about that stuff I do,
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: and he makes fun of all these other celebrities. But anyway,
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: this he goes, this is the biggest waste of time.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: He keeps it real, Michael, He keeps it real.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, exactly. So all right, Corey, Uh you got
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: anything big happening the rest.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: Of the week.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Well, I was looking forward to the TBT on is
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: it Saturday?
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Are you going? I'm going?
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: But I saw that Reed Travis wasn't on on on
- 1:09:18Speaker 6: the roster yesterday? What so uh yeah, I'm not sure
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: what's going on there?
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: What are they what are they going to do with
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: big Like you were already short on Big Man with
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: Willie colly Stett and Reed Travis. Now no, Reed Travis,
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: that sucks.
- 1:09:32Speaker 6: I'm not I'm I'm I'm worried now. I was kind
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: I was kind of worried even before this. Now I'm
- 1:09:39Speaker 6: I'm it's hard. Uh obviously I want to beat Louisville,
- 1:09:44Speaker 6: but it's it's gonna be tough. I don't know because
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: Willie it wasn't that great last year, so I mean,
- 1:09:52Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and they're not saying anything about it, and uh
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: so he's been completely taken off the official roster and
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: uh and that that's gonna make it tough this weekend
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: because uh, I don't know if you know it or not,
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: they're gonna have a white out at the game versus
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: the Ville. So I I'm getting to a point now,
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: this is this is not looking good for a team
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: La Familia.
- 1:10:18Speaker 6: And I think there's a rule like you have an
- 1:10:22Speaker 6: alumni team you had you have at least seven gays
- 1:10:25Speaker 6: from that school, and we had seven with Reeds. I
- 1:10:28Speaker 6: don't know if you'll, I guess it's kind of like
- 1:10:32Speaker 6: at anyone, but so I don't know.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know either.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: And it's it's a that's a shame right there, because
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: now you've lost two players that were supposed to be
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: coming back and uh, man, that makes it tough right there.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: So uh, I'm sure you've got a white shirt picked
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: out to wear on Saturday.
- 1:10:50Speaker 6: I haven't picked out yet because it's a few days away,
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: but I'm sure I can find something.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure of all the vast wardrobe and UK
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: ward that you have, Corey, you won't have any problems.
- 1:11:02Speaker 6: I've got UK and every color i'd say, so cool.
- 1:11:06Speaker 6: That's well hopefully not red, not red or orange. Yeah,
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: you've got UK and pink.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: Uh maybe I don't know.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: I don't think surely you picked one up over the years, Cory,
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: come on, I love UK and pink.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: That's that's one of my iconic favorite colors. Right there,
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: I have one. Maybe it's as close as red as
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: you'll get. But anyway, all right, Corey, we'll have fun
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: this week and you'll have to let us know how
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: it turns.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Out next week. Have fun with a coach tomorrow.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to it. So it's Corey Price. Everybody
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: appreciate it, Corey, good having you on here. We'll so
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: we'll talk to you next week, but we'll go ahead
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: and take a break. Favel two three four fourteen fifty.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: You want to call favelo two four one four fourteen
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: fifty a text. We'll get back to your whiskey thief
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: text comments in just a minute. Stay right there. It's
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: more just the cat's coming right out. I didn't think
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: you were a Jack Johnson fan. Am I wrong about that?
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: No, I'm not really a Jack Johnson fan. I do
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: enjoy this song. I don't know what I'm doing with
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: the music today. I've kind of just been I've kind
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: of just been picking one at a time, which is
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: really unusual for me.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: Yes, yes, I've liked the playlist it's been see. I
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: love Jack Johnson and and Bubble Toes. I mean, uh,
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: there are all kinds of great songs that he has.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: And the fact that you don't like him, it's just.
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: Like I don't That is not fair to say I
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: don't like him. I'm just not a huge fan, A
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: big fan, Okay, all right? Then, like as a fan,
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: did you go by the way, did you go listen
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: to a little Avied Brothers?
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: I did not listen to That's okay. However, Yes, I
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: don't want you to play any right now.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: No, I played some yesterday. But I did reach out
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: to Dougan our boss here, Big X, because he's a
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: big concert guy. We were talking about the music venues
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: and I reached out to him because him and his
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: sons they traveled to a ton of music venues.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: So I was I had no idea. That's awesome.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: I was curious what was on his top five. So
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: he agreed with us that Red Rocks is at the
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: top of the list, no question.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: But the rest of his list, he had the Rhyman,
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: louisal Palace in Chicago Theater. That's a pretty good.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Next four, Wow, Louisville Palace is up there.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got it in the top four.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: I would probably say the Fox Theater in Atlanta is
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: one of the more iconic places that I've never been to.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: Ryman Auditorium is definitely one of the top ones. But
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: it does not beat Red Rocks.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: It just doesn't.
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: I mean it's Ryman is iconic without a doubt, but no,
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: it's it's not as iconic as a place as Red Rocks. Sorry,
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: I'm sorry all you Nashville people. I know my mom
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: and dad would probably be very disappointed in me right now,
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: and my dad would be saying, no, Ryman is far
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: better that's his hometown. Of course he's going to celebrate
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: his hometown.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: You can't any place that's indoors versus that outdoor red
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: rocks atmosph fear that it's not going.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: To hold a candle to. You know who we should
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: ask is J. D. Shelburn.
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: Oh, his answer is gonna be easy.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: It's Opery exactly is going to and he should say
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: that because yeah, he should say it that way. But
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: I would like to see what his list of iconic
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: venues that he's played in as well as been too,
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: and I think that would be very interesting to hear.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: I don't think he's ever played the Palace, but he
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: certainly has played the Rymen well, I don't know if
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: he's played the Ramen. He's played the Grand Ole Opry,
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: but that's at the Hotel Opryland Hotel, so I don't know.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: But anyway, Uh, five O two three four fourteen fifty.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: You want to call five with two four wooden four
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: fourteen fifty and I appreciate it. Chris Mack is who
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: we were talking about. When Weezer was playing that Toto song.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: It was Chris Mack in the background with Eric Wood
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: in the front after they had just beaten UK and
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: look ridiculous.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: But congratulations to him though.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: He's gone from losing his job at U of L
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: to going to what was it college at Charleston? Is
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: that where he was, and now he's at South Florida.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: He's stepping himself back up. South Florida is a good job.
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: I don't know that I realized he was the one
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: that went down to South Florida.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: Yeah it was Chris Mack. So, yeah, he's down in
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: Tampa now, I mean, so, what you mean, Terry Miners.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Why would you call him Terry Miners the bald head.
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: They're like twins. They look identical.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: No they don't.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: Terry Miners is like six foot one and Chris Max
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: is like, uh, five to seven or eight.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: I'll never forget the first time that Terry Miners interviewed
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: Terry Miners. It was just pretty trippy. The first Oh geez, stop,
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: now you're gonna mess me up.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: Don't say something like that, because now every time I
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: run into Terry Miners, I'm gonna think Chris Macks.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Exactly, That's exactly what's going that happened right there.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: He's gonna look at me and say, Bennett, I knew
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: you were always wrong, So uh no, I can't don't
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: say that. Uh. One person texted out, Guys, wdrb's Mike
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: Marshall is getting ready to go off the high dive
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: at Lakeside Swim Club. Who is uh Mike Marshall of WDRB.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: There is traffic guy. Yeah, why are they telling us this?
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: I don't know, but I love it.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: When's the last time you went off a high dive?
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: Oh? I mean had to be twenty plus years ago? Really?
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it is last year for me. No, you know,
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: what does it like being at a quarry? Does that count?
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: If I'm jumping like sixty feet down? Absolutely, that would
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: have been sixteen years ago.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: You jumped off a quarry sixty Actually I jumped eighty feet.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: So they had they had four different jumps. They had
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: a twenty, a forty sixty and I know them.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: Are you kidding?
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: And I'll never forget. So it was actually really funny.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: The first one. I was like, let me do this
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: little twenty foot there. It's no problem, pretty simple here.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: So I decide I'm gonna show off a little bit
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: and I'm gonna try a little flip landed straight on
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: my belly. I must have been laying flate face down
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: in the water for what felt like six minutes. It
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: hurts so bad.
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: Yeah that I could never do that.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: Hey, By the way, I do have a list of
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: five from j D Showburn. Do you want to hear him? Wait?
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: Wait, wait, you've already texted JD. He's you responded? Are
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: you kiddy that quick?
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: Wow?
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: Congratulations, you're becoming even better friends than all.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: Your best friends?
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: Okay, so he's got grand Ole Opry number one, like
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: I said, yes, and then Ryman and then this one
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: surprises me. Freedom Hall he's got number three. Ooh well,
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: I can think about it though. If you're from Louisville
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: or the Surranding areas, say what you want. Freedom Hall
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: is an iconic place to us here locally. I doubt
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: the Lexington people would agree with this, but you know
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: what sorry I mean. I famously have seen UK play
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: at Freedom Hall many times, so you can't exclude Freedom Hall.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Of course. Always the first.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: Thing I think of when I'm flying into Louisville International Airport,
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: Sandford Field, whatever you want to call it. The first
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: thing I look at is Okay, where are we flying
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: through are we flying over Churchill Downs or close to it?
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: Are we flying over Freedom Hall on the Fairgrounds? And
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: I always think, can you imagine a tornado back in
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: nineteen seventy four went down and up, back down and
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: up and back down and up three times to make
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: three separate holes at Freedom Hall. I don't know why
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: I think that, but that's just glued to my brain
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: for the rest of my life. All Right, So you
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: got Ryman, You've got Grande Lopry and you got Freedom Hall.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: What are the other two? Then you got Iroquois Amphitheater,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: beautiful Amphitheater, And I think you're a good one.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: Guaranteed rate field, which is where the White Sox rounds
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: out his top five?
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: He has played it guaranteed right where the White Sox play. Yep, wow,
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: good for him. Interesting, Okay, I would have never get
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: a list. Yeah, I mean cause if I if I
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: look back at that, all right, what are the famous
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: football fields? What are the famous baseball fields? Where are
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: the famous basketball courts?
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: And do I know? Sorry?
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: Oh we have Okay, I won't do it again then,
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: but I mean I think we've done it with We've
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: done with baseball. We've never done it with basketball, though,
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: have we.
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: We've done every type of sport. Yes, we've ranked. Okay,
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: forget it. I'm don want to break it down even
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: into like conferences. We've even done that.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: Oh we have not.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: Uh Will from South Central said Patty's is the restaurant
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: with the pork chops. It's in Grand Rivers.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: That's it.
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: I I every time I have to I have to
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: go down to Western Kentucky, which is not often. I
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: wish they'd invite me down there to do a show.
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: Uh patties, it's it's it is the best pork chops
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: you'll ever have in your life. I'm just telling you,
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: not a pop, are you not. I love pork chops.
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: Some of the best fried pork chops I've ever had.
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: Or right here in Louisville at Cunningham's they make the
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: best fried pork chops in the world.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: Just telling you I love. Cunninghams. Is one of my
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: favorite restaurants.
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: It's definitely between Jack Fries and Cunninghamss are my too.
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: You go from fancy to redneck, and I love cunningham
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: especially in the summertime.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: You go there. You park your boat on the creek
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: and then you go upstairs, or you just have the
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: food brought to you. It's also I love Cunninghams. Here
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: we go.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: One person said, random thought, I meant to text earlier.
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: The University of Michigan stuff shows me if you are
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: going to cheat in college sports, do it in football.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: You can steal.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: Signs, hack into laptops, have crooked coaches and still keep
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: a title. Is that true because he's obviously referring to
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: the coach now that's at San Diego Harbor, John Harball,
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: I mean they really Is that the reason he left Michigan?
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: Had you think so?
- 1:22:20Speaker 5: Well?
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: And now looking back with all this stuff, I look,
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: I still don't understand exactly what's going on with Michigan
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: and their athletic director and all that. But great foresight
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: by Dusty May to realize, hey, something's going on here.
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: I'm I'm out. It makes the whole Dusty May thing
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: makes a whole lot more sense, you think.
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: So yeah, it's just and I've never really been one
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: of those kind of people that just can't stand Michigan.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: For some reason, I love FAB five. I really like
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: John Harbaugh, Dusty May, and I don't know why, I
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: should just sit here and think, Okay, they deserve all this.
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: I've been probably the school that I don't like the
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: most in the big hen has always been and it's
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: even more than I you has always been Ohio State, even.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: More so than I you. I don't know why that is.
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: That's kind of a weird thing. One person texted, pork
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: chops are great as long as they aren't dry.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: That is true. That's why I like the bone in why.
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: I don't like them because I feel like majority of
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: times I've had them in my life, they have them.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: See that's the you're getting them wrong. Then, so you
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: need to just come over to the guy named Michael
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: Bennett's house and I'll grill some uh pork chops for
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: he and they'll be juicy bone. No, no, it wasn't,
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: I promise you. But uh, anyway, we got to take
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: our last break. Stay right there. One more segment of
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: Justicat's coming up hopping fee changing.
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: And the surface breaks reflects face. But in some ways
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: I was saying, and as my mom be cant to spread, it's.
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: Weird home.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: Batto two three four fourteen fifty. If you want to
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: call Fablo two four one four, fourteen fifty. You want
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line as
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: we come up on our last segment today. Uh so,
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: I do want to talk about this before we have
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: to go. Cam Williams was interviewed yesterday. Uh and he
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: said the one thing that he did not expect when
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: he came to UK is how loud Reporina was, not
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: only for Big Blue Madness, but also for the game themselves.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: I mean, he goes, it was something I could not
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: expect and you couldn't prepare for. So he's now trying
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: to help his new players get ready for this game
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: big Blue Madness, and how loud it's going to get
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: for the games, he said, even the exhibition game against Purdue.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: He goes, I didn't know it was going to be
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: that loud, So which led me to start thinking, where
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: do you think the loudest coliseum is? Basketball court is
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: as far as home venues for colleges.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: I mean, as much as I hate to admit this,
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: it's PURDUECE in the top five.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: Oh really Purdue still?
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: Wow?
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: Is it really? See? I've never been to Purdue for
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: a basketball game. I mean you don't.
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: You can watch it on TV and just year how
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: loud it is.
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: It's crazy they still say that Kansas is one of
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: the loudest, if not the loudest.
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: Especially when they do that stupid frock. I mean, it
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: gets loud. It sounds like church, but it gets loud there.
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but I thought that was one they mentioned a
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: couple of others. UK was not one of the more
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: loud ones. It was those two. Uh or Purdue was mentioned.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: I you was mentioned, and I was kind of.
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: Surprised by you in the glory days.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but now not so much anymore.
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: There's really ever care about.
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: The only thing I look forward to seeing when I
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: see an IU game is John Mellencamp there in attendance.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: Does he go to the games anymore? At IU?
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: I'll look for him on TV every time because I
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: know exactly where he sits. I mean, I was an
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: usher at the stadium, so I know where season tickets are.
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: But I haven't seen him on TV in a minute.
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: Major League Baseball home run Derby was last night. Netflix
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: had it a lot of people were complaining that it
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: was on Netflix. They just assume they didn't even know
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: it was on Netflix. Number one and they just assumed
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: nobody was picking up the Home Run derberty more. Did
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: you think Netflix did a good job for the.
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: Most part, Yeah, I mean I was. I thought the
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: length of the commercials left a lot to be desired.
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: More times than not, they were just a little too long.
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: But I mean, if you don't have anything to cover
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: or talk about, then okay, then let's make our money,
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: I guess. But overall, yeah, Netflix didn't have to do
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: it the product of the Home Run Derby. But I
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: thought the Home Run Derby itself was freaking awesome. I mean,
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: that could have been on any platform last night and
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: it would have been just as enjoyable.
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: Did you like Michael Buffer, the legendary ring announcer introducing
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: the players?
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: No, no, really I did.
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: I am not a Michael Buffer guy. Bruce To me,
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: I think Bruce Buffer is five times as good as Michael.
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: Michael's boring to me, Bruce is oka like Bruce is
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: one of those guys that excites me, brings me down.
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: What did you think of Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, and
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: Jimmy Tatro.
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: I didn't see that.
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: They were a part of the broadcast, So yeah, I
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: mean I don't know who Jimmy I think I say
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: him his name, right, I don't know who Jimmy Tatro is.
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: I know he's part of this golf movie with the
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: Will Ferrell, but no, it doesn't have time out. He's
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: a YouTube guy too. It is a golf show, okay,
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: which makes it better? Like a freaking does a series
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: about golf with Will Ferrell.
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't want to. I was excited when you
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: brought it up that it was a movie, but then
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: when I saw last night that it was a series,
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: I was wrong. That's awesome.
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: When you bring Will Ferrell along with Will Luke Wilson,
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: I'm thinking, why not bring Vince Vaughn. And now you
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: got the cast from Old School, and I'm excited about that,
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: I think, really, Okay, all right? Then I just get
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: worried Will Ferrell is getting a little overexposed and we're
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: going to get a little fatigued by them.
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: I mean we have been the last couple of weeks
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: because they've been promoting this show. But outside of that,
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: I don't feel overexposed to really.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: Okay, all right? Then?
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: Uh, of course it was pretty fun to watch that
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: home run Derby. Jordan Walker is who won. But but
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: why are you booing him just because he plays for
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: Saint Louis.
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: Yeah, they never won a home run derby by the ways,
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: I think really, well, all the Bombers they had, Maguire
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: and Pooholes, neither of those guys could ever win the
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: home run derby. Kidding me?
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: Okay, well, but but there was a player last night
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: for a particular team that you know, this guy right
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: here absolutely loves Did Junior Carmenero get screwed last night
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: because because he hit a home run I mean an
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: absolute bomb and they called it a foul when they
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: went back to video replay and it clearly showed that
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: it was a home run, but they stuck to it
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: being a foul and it would it would have tied
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: with Jordan Walker.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: Maybe he got screwed. But didn't he win this last year?
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: Didn't he win it last year? I don't remember. I
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: couldn't tell you who won it last year. I don't
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: pay that much attention to it. You should know that
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: he's your mind exactly.
- 1:30:34Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: No, he's a rookie Yetney, No, he is young. Yeah, well,
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: it was fun to watch those guys were really.
- 1:30:46Speaker 4: For me.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: It was easy for me.
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: It was the atmosphere of the stadium, and I'm sure.
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: Philip Philip Philadelphia Phillies were really into it.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: And I'm sure having a couple of your hometown guys
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: there helped the crowd and all that get more into it. Yes,
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: it was very entertaining.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: I loved it. I thought they did a great job too.
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: But I.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: I just I don't like it being on Netflix. I
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: just wish it was on the ESPN and that was it.
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: Just leave it on the ESPN or something on regular TV.
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: The fact that it's on streaming, well, I didn't think
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: Netflix did that great of a job of advertising that it.
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: Was going to be on Netflix.
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: They've had old home run derbies on Netflix for the
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: last month.
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: Yeah, OK, that should.
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: Have been your telltale sign that it was coming.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: No it didn't, because you know why, because I don't
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: watch Netflix.
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: Oh then that sounds like a U problem.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: Well okay, then there you go. It's a U problem.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: That's why I watch YouTube. So I wish I could
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: get the producers of YouTube down here. That's a bad joke.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: That's an old one. I didn't get to talk about
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: this today, but I want to save it. There's two
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: topics I was really excited about talking about and we
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: didn't get to them. I want to save them for tomorrow.
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: So but tomorrow, let's see how much time do we have?
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: About two minutes? Two minutes?
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: Tomorrow at nine o'clock, Coach Tubby Smith is gonna be here.
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: If you want to send me a question by all means,
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: you can just DM me or tweet me on just
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: the Cat Radio on Twitter, and I'll be glad to
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: get to those. But other than that, I'll just ask
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: him whatever questions I come up with. So I'm looking
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: forward to that. And I don't know if you saw
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: this or not. Raiders Defensive End with Max Crosby was
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: interviewed and he showed off this wall of five million
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: dollars worth of watches. He collects watches, yes, And I
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: looked at that. That would be the last thing that
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: I would want to show off, because you know what
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: you're asking for. You're asking for somebody to come break
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: in and steal all his watches.
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: I mean, that's just gonna happen, or it's not. People
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: are always they can always find out where you live. Like,
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: remember what Joe Burrow got robbed last year? Remember those?
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: I know?
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: But did you know what Joe Burrow had to steal?
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: Because I look at this and I'm like, Okay, don't
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: show that stuff off. You're only asking people to come
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: steal those things. Five million dollars worth of watches. It
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: was an amazing collection. I'm not going to deny that.
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: But my goodness, by the way it was.
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: Jamie, Jamie let us know that Junior was runner up
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: to cal Rawly last year.
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: Okay, so Junior, okay, thank you for letting us know
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: that Junior, I mean, Jamie, Junior. I might as well
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: call you Junior anyway. So all right, so don't forget
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: Tomorrow at nine o'clock, Coach Tubby Smith's going to be on.
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: I look forward to that.
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: It'll be fun talking to him because uh, it's been
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: a long time since I've talked to coach. But anyway,
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: outside of that, but it'll be a fun conversation. So
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: look forward to that. And then uh, I don't know
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: I and then Thursday I have to be off because
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: I have to travel back up to Louisville. But John,
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: I don't give me that we're not gonna John Wong
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: will be with you, Okay, so just thrilling. Yeah, John
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: Wong is going to fill in for me. So now
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: you're excited. Okay, my gosh, man, doctor John Wanng Okay
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: remember that. So and then I'll be back in studio
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: on Friday. So I'm looking forward to seeing you finally.
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: I haven't been able to see you except through the computer.
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: But anyway, all right, everybody, we're gonna take off for here.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: Appreciate you listening. We'll see you tomorrow with Coach Tubby
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: Smith and our second anniversary.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: Take care.
- 1:34:25Speaker 4: I will wait, and I will wait.
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: I will wait for you.
