Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today.
• 0:10
May 31st Trust in the unseen plan.
• 0:13
Have you ever felt like you were spinning a wheel and just hoping
• 0:16
it landed somewhere good? Like no matter how much you
• 0:20
tried to plan or prepare, things were still unpredictable, still
• 0:24
out of your hands? Maybe it's where you'll end up
• 0:27
after school, or whether a relationship will work out, or
• 0:30
how a situation at home is going to resolve.
• 0:34
Life can feel genuinely uncertain, and that uncertainty
• 0:37
can be really unsettling. Proverbs chapter 16 verse 33
• 0:42
speaks into that with a quiet, grounding confidence.
• 0:46
The lot is cast into the lap, but it's every decision is from
• 0:49
the Lord. In the ancient world, casting
• 0:53
lots was the way people made decisions when the outcome was
• 0:56
uncertain, essentially like rolling the dice.
• 1:00
And what this verse says is that even that even the apparently
• 1:03
random outcome is in God's hands.
• 1:06
Nothing falls outside His awareness or beyond His
• 1:09
authority. The things that look like chance
• 1:12
to us are not chance to Him. That's a profound statement.
• 1:16
It means the situation that feels out of control to you is
• 1:19
not out of control. It means the outcome you can't
• 1:23
see or predict is seen by the God who holds all things.
• 1:27
And it means you are not navigating an unpredictable
• 1:30
universe alone. You are walking through it with
• 1:33
a God who is sovereignly present in every detail.
• 1:37
Psalm 62, verses 5 and 6 respond to that truth with the most
• 1:41
restful declaration. My soul finds rest in God alone.
• 1:46
My salvation comes from Him. Truly.
• 1:49
He is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress.
• 1:52
I will never be shaken. My soul finds rest not in having
• 1:56
all the answers, not in controlling all the outcomes,
• 2:00
not in having everything figured out.
• 2:03
Rest comes from God alone. He is the rock.
• 2:06
He is the fortress. And the conclusion the psalmist
• 2:09
reaches is not a fragile hope, but a settled certainty.
• 2:12
I will never be shaken. That's available to you, not as
• 2:17
a feeling that comes naturally or that you have to manufacture,
• 2:20
but as a choice, a daily act of trust where you bring what
• 2:24
you're carrying to God and say, I don't know how this turns out,
• 2:28
but you do. And I'm resting in that.
• 2:31
It doesn't make the uncertainty disappear, but it changes your
• 2:34
relationship to it completely. And Ephesians chapter 6, verse
• 2:39
14 reminds us that trust in God is not passivity.
• 2:43
You don't just wait for things to happen, you stand firm,
• 2:47
equipped, and ready. Stand therefore, having fastened
• 2:50
on the belt of truth and having put on the breastplate of
• 2:54
righteousness. The armor of God is not
• 2:57
defensive furniture you wear while hiding.
• 3:00
It's what you put on when you are ready to stand your ground
• 3:03
truth around your waist. Because when lies and confusion
• 3:06
come at you, the truth of God is what you hold onto.
• 3:10
Righteousness over your heart. Because a clear conscience
• 3:13
before God is your protection against the enemy's accusations.
• 3:17
You are not helpless in the face of uncertainty.
• 3:20
You are equipped, you are covered, and you are held by a
• 3:24
God whose plans are never thwarted and whose love for you
• 3:27
never wavers. So as this month closes, here's
• 3:31
the invitation. Trust the unseen plan, not
• 3:35
blindly, not passively, but actively armored up, standing
• 3:39
firm and resting in the God who holds every outcome in His
• 3:41
hands. He has not forgotten you, He is
• 3:44
not finished with you, and whatever comes next, He already
• 3:48
knows the way through. Let's pray.
• 3:51
Heavenly Father, thank you for being my rock, my salvation, my
• 3:54
fortress, the one place where my soul can genuinely rest in a
• 3:59
world that feels uncertain and unpredictable, I choose to trust
• 4:03
that nothing falls outside your hands.
• 4:06
Help me to stop straining for control and start resting in
• 4:09
Your sovereignty. Equip me to stand firm with
• 4:12
truth, with righteousness, with faith in every challenge this
• 4:16
next season brings. I don't need to see the whole
• 4:19
plan, I just need to trust the one who holds it.
• 4:22
In Jesus name, Amen. What if the battles hitting your
• 4:26
family are not random and your home can become a place where

Proverbs Chapter 16 Verse 33 World English Bible The lot is
• 5:39
cast into the lap, but it's every decision is from Yahweh.
• 5:42
Psalm Chapter 62 World English Bible My soul rests in God
• 5:47
alone. My salvation is from Him.
• 5:50
He alone is my rock, my salvation and my fortress.
• 5:54
I will never be greatly shaken. How long will you assault a man?
• 5:59
Would all of you throw him down like a leaning wall, like a
• 6:01
tottering fence? They fully intend to throw him
• 6:04
down from his lofty place. They delight in lies, They bless
• 6:09
with their mouth, but they curse inwardly.
• 6:12
My soul wait in silence for God alone.
• 6:15
For my expectation is from Him. He alone is my rock and my
• 6:18
salvation my fortress. I will not be shaken.
• 6:22
My salvation and my honor is with God.
• 6:25
The rock of my strength and my refuge is in God.
• 6:28
Trust in Him at all times. You people pour out your heart
• 6:31
before Him. God is a refuge for us.
• 6:35
Surely men of low degree are just a breath, and men of high
• 6:38
degree are a lie in the balances.
• 6:40
They will go up. They are together lighter than a
• 6:43
  breath. Don't trust in oppression.
• 6:46
Don't become vain in robbery. If riches increase, don't set
• 6:49
your heart on them. God has spoken once, twice.
• 6:52
I have heard this. That power belongs to God also
• 6:56
to you Lord belongs loving kindness, for you reward every
• 7:00
man according to his work. Ephesians Chapter 6 World
• 7:04
English Bible Children, obey your parents and the Lord, for
• 7:07
this is right. Honor your father and mother,
• 7:11
which is the first commandment, with a promise that it may be
• 7:14
well with you and you may live long on the earth.
• 7:17
You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture
• 7:21
them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
• 7:25
Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are
• 7:28
your masters. With fear and trembling, in
• 7:31
singleness of your heart as to Christ, not in the way of
• 7:34
service only when eyes are on you as men pleasers, but as
• 7:39
servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.
• 7:42
With goodwill. Doing service as to the Lord and
• 7:45
not to men, knowing that whatever good thing each one
• 7:48
does, he will receive the same good again from the Lord,
• 7:52
whether he is bound or free. You masters do the same things
• 7:57
to them, and give up threatening, knowing that he who
• 8:00
is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no
• 8:03
partiality with him. Finally, be strong in the Lord
• 8:07
and in the strength of His might.
• 8:09
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand
• 8:13
against the Wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against
• 8:17
flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the
• 8:20
powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this
• 8:23
age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the
• 8:28
heavenly places. Therefore put on the whole armor
• 8:31
of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day.
• 8:35
And having done all to stand. Stand, therefore, having the
• 8:40
utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having
• 8:43
put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted
• 8:47
your feet with the preparation of the good news of peace, Above
• 8:50
all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be
• 8:53
able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil. 1 And take
• 8:57
the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is
• 9:01
the Word of God, with all prayer and requests, praying at all
• 9:05
times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all
• 9:09
perseverance and requests for all the Saints on my behalf.
• 9:13
That utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth to make
• 9:17
known with boldness the mystery of the good news for which I am
• 9:21
an ambassador in chains, that in it I may speak boldly as I ought
• 9:25
to speak, but that you also may know my affairs how I am doing.
• 9:30
Titicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord,
• 9:34
will make known to you all things.
• 9:36
I have sent Him to you for this very purpose, that you may know
• 9:40
our state and that He may comfort your hearts.
• 9:43
Peace be to the brothers and love with faith from God the
• 9:46
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
• 9:49
Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with
• 9:52
  incorruptible love. Amen.
