- 0:00The World Green Economy Summit 2026 is exploring
- 0:03how artificial intelligence can become a net
- 0:05positive force for the green economy. The 12th
- 0:09World Green Economy Summit takes place on 21st
- 0:12and 22nd October 2026 at Dubai World Trade Center
- 0:16under the theme From Success to Scale, showcasing
- 0:21the green economy. This year's agenda spans four
- 0:24main pillars. energy technology and infrastructure,
- 0:28business strategy and transition, water and food
- 0:31security, and finance, alongside three cross
- 0:35-cutting themes, artificial intelligence, governance,
- 0:38and system enablers. A major focus is defining
- 0:41the conditions that make AI a true positive force,
- 0:45from setting energy efficiency standards for
- 0:48data centers to deploying AI -driven grid optimization
- 0:51at scale. His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayyir.
- 0:55Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of
- 0:58Energy, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water
- 1:01Authority, and Chairman of World Green Economy
- 1:04Organization said, AI is one of the green economy's
- 1:08most powerful accelerators. However, realizing
- 1:12its full potential depends on our ability to
- 1:14build sustainable energy systems. World Green
- 1:18Economy Summit examines models, strategies and
- 1:21innovative solutions for building smart, resilient
- 1:24infrastructure capable of keeping pace with AI's
- 1:27energy demands. At the same time, AI can enable
- 1:31smarter energy management, strengthen predictive
- 1:33analytics for environmental risk mitigation,
- 1:36improve emissions monitoring and enhance agricultural
- 1:39productivity. World Green Economy Summit underscores
- 1:45the UAE's leading position in adopting AI technologies
- 1:48and integrating them across various aspects of
- 1:52life, underpinned by advanced infrastructure,
- 1:55strong government support and highly developed
- 1:58digital capabilities. Today, AI helps save more
- 2:02than 2 million hours of manual work each month,
- 2:05while reducing operating costs by up to 80%.
- 2:10The summit also showcases the UAE's experience
- 2:13in reshaping operating models across energy,
- 2:16water, and other vital sectors by making AI a
- 2:20key driver of performance, resilience, and efficiency.
- 2:24The urgency is clear. A typical AI -focused data
- 2:29center can consume as much electricity as 100
- 2:32,000 homes. while global data center electricity
- 2:35demand is expected to more than double to 945
- 2:39terawatt hours by 2030. In short, the summit
- 2:43is positioning AI not only as a growing energy
- 2:46challenge, but also as a practical tool for cleaner,
- 2:50smarter, and more resilient systems, provided
- 2:53it is powered by sustainable infrastructure and
- 2:55renewable energy.
