- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to the.
- 0:01Speaker 2: I just hope he brings out Soulja Boy, man. That's
- 0:11Speaker 2: what I hope.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:12Speaker 3: If he brings out Soulja Boy, I'm done. If I'm there,
- 0:16Speaker 3: I'm still cutting the TV off. I'm going in the
- 0:17Speaker 3: suites and turning TVs off. Welcome back to the Richard
- 0:26Speaker 3: Sherman podcast, and it's our week eight preview. We got
- 0:29Speaker 3: to start off with our power rankings. Of course, Mitchell,
- 0:35Speaker 3: not a lot has changed for me. I'm going with
- 0:36Speaker 3: the exact same power rankings as I had last week.
- 0:39Speaker 1: What about you?
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I had to sit down and think long and
- 0:44Speaker 2: hard about this one, Richard, because there's not a whole
- 0:46Speaker 2: lot of movement here. I'm going to make a couple
- 0:48Speaker 2: different swaps. So at one, I'm going to go with
- 0:51Speaker 2: the Buffalo Bills, beneficiary of a bye week. No win,
- 0:55Speaker 2: no loss. The two teams in front of them lost,
- 0:57Speaker 2: so give me Josh Allen and the Bills at one.
- 1:01Speaker 2: At two, the 49ers lost on the road in Atlanta,
- 1:07Speaker 2: something that I predicted. I'm not going to give myself
- 1:09Speaker 2: too big of a pat on the back, but that
- 1:12Speaker 2: game had an asterisk on it. They were without their
- 1:14Speaker 2: top four, top five, top six wide receivers. The 49ers
- 1:19Speaker 2: are still cream of the crop in the NFL. I'm
- 1:21Speaker 2: just going to slide them down one slot here to two.
- 1:24Speaker 2: At three, I'm questioning myself, but the Minnesota Vikings, 6-0,
- 1:31Speaker 2: certainly deserve to be in the top five. This offense, though,
- 1:35Speaker 2: is a massive question mark for me. Can Kyler Murray
- 1:38Speaker 2: really be the guy to lead Minnesota to greatness? Huge
- 1:42Speaker 2: question mark there. Give me the Vikings at three, though,
- 1:44Speaker 2: just because of Brian Flores and that defense. At four,
- 1:48Speaker 2: the Kansas City Chiefs. The team got humbled in Seattle,
- 1:52Speaker 2: but they're still a good team. The Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes,
- 1:56Speaker 2: Kenneth Walker, can they bounce back this week? We shall see.
- 2:00Speaker 2: With one loss, I got the Chiefs at four. And
- 2:03Speaker 2: then finally, at five, I'm going to join you and
- 2:06Speaker 2: put the Chicago Bears there. A very impressive showing last
- 2:10Speaker 2: week against the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Ben Johnson and this Bears team, led by Caleb Williams,
- 2:17Speaker 2: are turning in week after week impressive outings, and I
- 2:21Speaker 2: got to put them in my top five. It pains me.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I got two teams in the NFC North in the
- 2:26Speaker 2: top five of my power ranks, and not one of
- 2:28Speaker 2: them is my Detroit Lions. So you guys can't say
- 2:31Speaker 2: I'm a homer anymore, all right, because I'm giving credit
- 2:34Speaker 2: where credit is due. What do you think of those, Rich?
- 2:38Speaker 1: I like them.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I like them, and you got me questioning my power
- 2:40Speaker 3: rankings a little bit. Obviously, I'm not moving the San
- 2:43Speaker 3: Francisco 49ers out, because I still think they're the most
- 2:47Speaker 3: complete team in football. The Kansas City Chiefs took quite
- 2:50Speaker 3: a beating in Seattle, and Seattle did a great job
- 2:54Speaker 3: exposing the weaknesses that Kansas City has, especially along the
- 2:58Speaker 3: offensive line. K-9 had nowhere to go, and they had been,
- 3:01Speaker 3: I mean, he had been having a record-breaking season to
- 3:05Speaker 3: that point. It really took everything in me not to
- 3:07Speaker 3: put Seattle in the top five, but now they got
- 3:10Speaker 3: Quentin Nelson now, Mitchell. They got Quentin Nelson. This offensive
- 3:13Speaker 3: line is going to be formidable. But I think I'm
- 3:16Speaker 3: going to move the Kansas City Chiefs down. You know,
- 3:18Speaker 3: I think I am. I think I'm going to move
- 3:19Speaker 3: them down to four. I think I'm going to move
- 3:22Speaker 3: the Vikings up because I have to give Brian Flores
- 3:25Speaker 3: a ton of credit. I know you think they're not
- 3:28Speaker 3: going to play well down the stretch. I think they're
- 3:29Speaker 3: going to play incredibly well down the stretch. The offense
- 3:32Speaker 3: is going to do what all these half-baked offenses need
- 3:37Speaker 3: to do. Don't turn the ball over. Allow your defense
- 3:39Speaker 3: to be great. Allow your defense to force them into
- 3:41Speaker 3: mistakes and give you a short field. Don't put them
- 3:44Speaker 3: in positions where they cannot win. Don't put them in
- 3:47Speaker 3: positions where the other offense is already in field goal
- 3:50Speaker 3: position and is going to score points. Give them the
- 3:52Speaker 3: long field every single time. And if they continue to
- 3:54Speaker 3: play that game, they're going to be a tough team
- 3:56Speaker 3: to beat the way this defense is playing the bills.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I'm not sold on. So I'm going to move them
- 4:02Speaker 3: to two, but I just don't know if I'm sold
- 4:04Speaker 3: on them. I'm not sold on the Buffalo bills in
- 4:06Speaker 3: that way because they're half baked. They have no answers
- 4:09Speaker 3: on defense. Uh, They're very similar to your Detroit Lions,
- 4:12Speaker 3: and we don't have them.
- 4:13Speaker 1: In the top five.
- 4:14Speaker 3: They just haven't run into somebody else that's really willing
- 4:16Speaker 3: to expose them in that way. I guess there have
- 4:21Speaker 3: been teams, but they battle. Your Detroit Lions were one
- 4:23Speaker 3: of them. You guys put up a lot of points,
- 4:25Speaker 3: a lot of yards, and the Buffalo Bills put up more.
- 4:28Speaker 3: But it's not always going to be that way. So
- 4:31Speaker 3: I feel like the Bills are one of those teams.
- 4:34Speaker 3: And then, of course, at five, I got the Bears.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I think the Bears... are an up-and-coming team, a team that,
- 4:40Speaker 3: you know, with Caleb Williams at the helm, do a
- 4:42Speaker 3: really great job moving the ball down the field, scoring points.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Him and Ben Johnson are going to find a rhythm
- 4:47Speaker 3: this season and continue to push the ball down the field.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Luther Burton had a really good game last week on
- 4:52Speaker 3: Thursday night. Roma Dunzey is starting to find himself. They've
- 4:57Speaker 3: already had a great running game with DeAndre Swift. They'll
- 5:01Speaker 3: get Kalmanungai back. They're going to be a force to
- 5:04Speaker 3: be reckoned with. But again, people are screaming for Caleb
- 5:08Speaker 3: Williams to be MVP candidate and all that.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Like, okay, guys.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Okay, he's been in the top five for the last
- 5:14Speaker 3: two weeks. You guys have been in the top five.
- 5:16Speaker 3: That's been clear. I got the 49ers. I got the
- 5:20Speaker 3: Buffalo Bills. I got the Vikings, the Chiefs, and the Bears.
- 5:25Speaker 3: But MVP candidate, not so fast, my friend. Caleb Williams
- 5:30Speaker 3: has 1,000 yards passing, five touchdowns, one interception. Those are
- 5:34Speaker 3: fine stats, but I think the leader right now in
- 5:37Speaker 3: touchdowns is Brock Purdy at 15 or 16. So, you know,
- 5:44Speaker 3: we understand he's on your team, but let's be careful.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Let's talk more about the Chicago Bears. They're going to
- 5:51Speaker 2: be visiting Seattle on Monday night. You know, this is
- 5:54Speaker 2: a game that the world is going to tune into
- 5:57Speaker 2: because it might be one of the top two, three
- 5:59Speaker 2: games of the weekend. Chicago has been red hot. obviously
- 6:02Speaker 2: offensively led by the mastermind Ben Johnson and the aforementioned
- 6:07Speaker 2: Caleb Williams, come into Seattle, who is fresh off a
- 6:10Speaker 2: massive win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Richard, what was
- 6:14Speaker 2: different about what Seattle did last week, and how can
- 6:17Speaker 2: they replicate it in this game to get another win
- 6:20Speaker 2: against Chicago?
- 6:22Speaker 3: Well, they did turn the ball over once, but they
- 6:25Speaker 3: didn't turn the ball over and put their defense in
- 6:28Speaker 3: terrible positions. The past few games, it's been tough for
- 6:31Speaker 3: the defense to recover from some of these turnovers. Sam
- 6:34Speaker 3: Darnold did throw the football away in a critical moment
- 6:37Speaker 3: right before the half, threw an interception in the end zone,
- 6:40Speaker 3: a chance to go up 17-0. And then they let
- 6:43Speaker 3: him run it all the way back to field goal range,
- 6:45Speaker 3: which was almost a really devastating play. But they missed
- 6:51Speaker 3: the field goal, and the defense continued to hold, continued
- 6:54Speaker 3: to play well, held K-9 in check. The defense played
- 6:57Speaker 3: as well as they have played all season long. They've
- 7:00Speaker 3: continued to build an incredible resume. And the offense put
- 7:04Speaker 3: them in less terrible positions. When you're a great defense,
- 7:07Speaker 3: you can recover from mishap here and there. But it's
- 7:10Speaker 3: when they continue to stack and they continue to stack
- 7:13Speaker 3: and you don't even give the defense a chance to
- 7:15Speaker 3: get on the field and get a stop. If they
- 7:17Speaker 3: would have let that interception return go all the way
- 7:22Speaker 3: for a touchdown... that would have been a devastating play
- 7:24Speaker 3: because you allowed a touchdown without the defense even getting
- 7:27Speaker 3: out there to defend. And I think that's where they
- 7:31Speaker 3: got to play like this. Sam Darnold has 1,200 yards,
- 7:33Speaker 3: eight touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He's going to have to
- 7:38Speaker 3: change that. He's going to have to get 16, 17
- 7:41Speaker 3: touchdowns and eight interceptions. If that interception number continues to grow,
- 7:45Speaker 3: that's going to be the Achilles heel of this Seattle
- 7:47Speaker 3: Seahawks team. They got the run game going. That was big.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Emmanuel Wilson had a big game, a 100-yard game. For
- 7:53Speaker 3: him to have only 400 yards on the season, he
- 7:56Speaker 3: just had a 100-yard game. It tells you how much
- 7:58Speaker 3: they had been struggling before this 100-yard game that he had.
- 8:02Speaker 3: If they can continue to run the ball like that,
- 8:04Speaker 3: and that's why you trade for a guy like Quentin Nelson,
- 8:06Speaker 3: and you improve this run game substantially, getting a pro-ball,
- 8:10Speaker 3: all-pro-type player like him on this offensive line. My question is,
- 8:15Speaker 3: where is he going to fit? What are you going
- 8:17Speaker 3: to do? This guy has played left guard his whole career.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Are you going to swing him over to right guard?
- 8:20Speaker 3: Are you going to put Gray Zabel at right guard?
- 8:22Speaker 3: Are you going to leave Bradford at right guard and
- 8:25Speaker 3: put Gray Zabel, potentially try him at center? I don't
- 8:28Speaker 3: know if you can do that. I'm not sure if
- 8:30Speaker 3: that's the option, but it's going to be really interesting.
- 8:33Speaker 3: It's going to be a talented offensive line for sure.
- 8:35Speaker 2: It certainly looks that way, and this is a big
- 8:37Speaker 2: swing for the Seattle Seahawks. A third and a fifth
- 8:40Speaker 2: round pick for Quentin Nelson, and he certainly has a
- 8:43Speaker 2: proven track record with the Colts. What does this do? Clearly,
- 8:48Speaker 2: John Schneider must be listening to the Richard Sherman podcast.
- 8:50Speaker 2: You spoke time and time again about how the holes
- 8:54Speaker 2: were just not there. The running lanes were just not there.
- 8:58Speaker 2: How big of an impact do you think Quentin Nelson
- 9:00Speaker 2: will have on this offensive line once he does find
- 9:03Speaker 2: his true position on it?
- 9:05Speaker 3: He's going to have a big impact and an immediate impact,
- 9:10Speaker 3: not only just on making, but culturally. I thought Grace
- 9:14Speaker 3: Zabel came in and changed the culture of this offensive line,
- 9:18Speaker 3: both on the field and off the field. I think
- 9:20Speaker 3: a guy like Quentin Nelson, who is a true old-school
- 9:24Speaker 3: offensive lineman, down and dirty, grimy, is going to come
- 9:28Speaker 3: in and add to that culture and is going to
- 9:30Speaker 3: be another guy that he can lean on, that the
- 9:32Speaker 3: rest of this offensive line can lean on, And this
- 9:34Speaker 3: comes at a critical time where Charles Cross is going
- 9:37Speaker 3: to go out with an injury. Charles Cross has a
- 9:39Speaker 3: high ankle sprain. So as they get reinforcements in, they
- 9:43Speaker 3: lose one of their premier offensive linemen, what some consider
- 9:46Speaker 3: their best offensive lineman. And I think he'll be back
- 9:49Speaker 3: this season, obviously. But, you know, it's almost give and
- 9:53Speaker 3: take at this point.
- 9:55Speaker 2: The Chicago Bears were very impressive last week on Thursday
- 9:58Speaker 2: Night Football against the New England Patriots. you were there
- 10:00Speaker 2: witnessed it firsthand this team put up 30 points against
- 10:04Speaker 2: New England and New England had won three in a
- 10:05Speaker 2: row coming into that game what do the Bears have
- 10:08Speaker 2: to do to replicate that performance and attack the Seattle
- 10:12Speaker 2: Seahawks defense.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Well, I think the Bears have a much better offensive
- 10:16Speaker 3: line than the Kansas City Chiefs. I think they have
- 10:19Speaker 3: one of the best offensive lines in football. So it's
- 10:21Speaker 3: going to be an incredible challenge on both sides. It's
- 10:23Speaker 3: going to be a great matchup. I look forward to
- 10:25Speaker 3: seeing this Byron Murphy and Jaron Reed and Leonard Williams
- 10:30Speaker 3: and Uchenna Nwosu and all these guys, DeMarcus Lawrence, match
- 10:35Speaker 3: up Derek Hall against the Chicago Bears offensive line. I
- 10:40Speaker 3: know that Mike McDonald is going to scheme this up
- 10:42Speaker 3: incredibly well. There aren't going to be many rush lanes.
- 10:45Speaker 3: They're going to try to contain Caleb Williams. But Caleb,
- 10:49Speaker 3: with this hamstring injury as shown, he can operate from
- 10:51Speaker 3: the pocket if need be. He can be very deadly
- 10:54Speaker 3: and devastating from the pocket. He can find his reads.
- 10:57Speaker 3: But I know that Mike is going to muddy up
- 10:58Speaker 3: the picture. I think the Seattle Seahawks walk away with
- 11:02Speaker 3: this one. We will call it... We're in Seattle. We'll
- 11:09Speaker 3: call it 20... 27-17.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I like that.
- 11:17Speaker 2: I like Seattle as well. They're one of the toughest
- 11:19Speaker 2: teams to play against on the road, and obviously they
- 11:22Speaker 2: found their mojo again last week against the KC Chiefs.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Hopefully they can keep this momentum going here. Give me
- 11:29Speaker 2: the Seattle Seahawks as well. Let's talk about my Detroit Lions.
- 11:34Speaker 2: And this game preview is sponsored by Polymarket. We got
- 11:37Speaker 2: the Vikings at the Detroit Lions. Polymarket has the Lions
- 11:41Speaker 2: upsetting the Vikings with a 62% likelihood to win, while
- 11:46Speaker 2: the Vikings are just at 38%. So this week, Richard,
- 11:50Speaker 2: do you agree with Polymarket's assessment on the Lions being
- 11:54Speaker 2: favored in this one?
- 12:00Speaker 3: Mmm.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Mmm.
- 12:01Speaker 3: This is a tough one. This is tougher than the numbers.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Polymarket has this as an easy call. And I know
- 12:07Speaker 3: you're not going to agree with this, but the Detroit
- 12:09Speaker 3: Lions have not beat the Minnesota Vikings since Ben Johnson
- 12:12Speaker 3: has left. And Brian Flores has this defense playing even
- 12:15Speaker 3: better than they played last year and last season. And
- 12:19Speaker 3: the guys that they had at quarterback last season, you know,
- 12:22Speaker 3: Brosmer and Nine, you know, weren't exactly world beaters to
- 12:26Speaker 3: say the least. And not that Kyler Murray is a
- 12:28Speaker 3: world beater, but If they can play solid and not
- 12:32Speaker 3: turn the football over, I know that this Detroit Lions
- 12:36Speaker 3: offense can get going with the best of them. They're
- 12:39Speaker 3: one of the best in the National Football League. Jared
- 12:41Speaker 3: Goff is having what, if the record was different, would
- 12:44Speaker 3: be an MVP season. He's got 14 touchdown passes. I
- 12:47Speaker 3: think that's tied for third or fourth in the league.
- 12:51Speaker 3: 1,700 yards. Amin Ra is having a fantastic season. Jameer Gibbs,
- 12:56Speaker 3: of course, is having a great season. Ooh, I just,
- 12:59Speaker 3: I don't believe in this defense. I, you know, this
- 13:01Speaker 3: defense is still, even after that great performance last week,
- 13:05Speaker 3: it's 32nd in yards per game, 32nd in passing yards
- 13:08Speaker 3: per game, 12th in rush defense.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'll let you go first.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Well, you know which direction I'm going. And unfortunately, you
- 13:18Speaker 2: picked the Green Bay Packers last week and my Detroit
- 13:21Speaker 2: Lions laid an L on your score column there for you.
- 13:24Speaker 2: So I think we're going to see more of the same.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I have a feeling you're going to go with the Vikings.
- 13:28Speaker 2: I'm going with the Detroit Lions. This stretch of games
- 13:31Speaker 2: for the Minnesota Vikings, if you look at their schedule,
- 13:35Speaker 2: it's going to prove whether they are legit contenders or not.
- 13:37Speaker 2: They play at Detroit. They're at home against the Bills.
- 13:41Speaker 2: They're at Green Bay. They're at home against the Niners.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I mean, those are four teams that I expect to
- 13:46Speaker 2: see in the playoffs at the end of this year.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Can the Vikings keep this win streak going against premier competition?
- 13:52Speaker 2: It all starts this weekend in Detroit. And I think
- 13:55Speaker 2: that answer is no. I mean, You mentioned the Lions
- 13:58Speaker 2: haven't beat this team without Ben Johnson. I'm sure they
- 14:02Speaker 2: know that, and I'm sure they've notated that. The reality
- 14:05Speaker 2: is this Lions team, they're starting to come along over
- 14:08Speaker 2: these last two weeks, especially defensively. I know it was
- 14:11Speaker 2: against Arizona, but we saw an uptick in the level
- 14:14Speaker 2: of play defensively. We saw them start to answer some
- 14:17Speaker 2: of those questions defensively. Now they get Brian Branch back,
- 14:20Speaker 2: who looked like he just had the perfect amount of
- 14:23Speaker 2: time off. He looked fresh as could be. coming into
- 14:26Speaker 2: this week. And I know they had him on a
- 14:27Speaker 2: snap count, but he was itching to get back out there.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I expect him to get better. I expect this team
- 14:32Speaker 2: to be more cohesive in the back end of that secondary.
- 14:36Speaker 2: And Richard, I got the Detroit Lions winning this game.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I got them covering the spread. I just believe more
- 14:42Speaker 2: in this Detroit Lion team and this defense, shockingly, than
- 14:46Speaker 2: I do the Minnesota Vikings offense. I think that is
- 14:50Speaker 2: a more glaring issue is the Minnesota Vikings offense because
- 14:54Speaker 2: the reality is This is going to be the toughest
- 14:56Speaker 2: offense this Vikings team has seen all year. You're playing
- 15:00Speaker 2: in a very hostile setting in Detroit. I like Detroit
- 15:04Speaker 2: to win by a touchdown in this game. I expect
- 15:06Speaker 2: it to be a little bit low scoring. I mean,
- 15:09Speaker 2: somewhat similar to what we saw last week with 20 points,
- 15:12Speaker 2: maybe 20, give me 23 points on the board for
- 15:15Speaker 2: the Lions, 23 to 16. Richard, I think the Detroit
- 15:19Speaker 2: Lions answer the call and get a win on the
- 15:22Speaker 2: board here and improve to five and two. Did that
- 15:26Speaker 2: convince you enough?
- 15:29Speaker 3: You did a fair job trying to convince me, Mitchell.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I just know that it's tough. It's really, really tough.
- 15:36Speaker 3: It's tough for me to go against defense. It's tough
- 15:38Speaker 3: for me to go against a defensive team like the
- 15:40Speaker 3: Minnesota Vikings when they're playing the way they have, even
- 15:42Speaker 3: when their.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Offense is struggling.
- 15:43Speaker 3: And the Detroit defense is playing as terribly as they
- 15:46Speaker 3: have been playing. I know they played really well against
- 15:49Speaker 3: The Green Bay Packers, and sure, maybe that's enough, and
- 15:53Speaker 3: they can play well this week. If I go with
- 15:57Speaker 3: Detroit and they let me down and they get shut
- 15:59Speaker 3: down by Brian Flores and lose again, Mitchell, it's going
- 16:02Speaker 3: to be tough for me to go for him again.
- 16:05Speaker 3: I'm going to go with the Honolulu Blue Boys this time,
- 16:08Speaker 3: but begrudgingly, begrudgingly.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Richard Kevin Sherman going against the defense. Wow.
- 16:17Speaker 1: You see what I did there? I see what you
- 16:19Speaker 1: did there, Mitchell.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Going against the defense.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Wow.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Well, Polly market gives the lines a 26% chance to
- 16:25Speaker 2: score more than three and a half touchdowns. Do you
- 16:28Speaker 2: think there's any way they put four or more touchdowns
- 16:32Speaker 2: on the board this Sunday?
- 16:35Speaker 1: Uh, Four more touchdowns?
- 16:37Speaker 3: No, I don't think that the Detroit Lions are going
- 16:40Speaker 3: to put four or more touchdowns up against this Minnesota
- 16:43Speaker 3: Vikings team. That would change things dramatically. That would change
- 16:46Speaker 3: their rankings dramatically, and that'd be the worst game they
- 16:48Speaker 3: played this season.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I agree with you on that. Well, that's the best
- 16:54Speaker 2: thing about Polymarket. It gives you an alternative to traditional
- 16:57Speaker 2: sportsbooks that keeps you in control of your trades. Richard,
- 17:02Speaker 2: I'm ecstatic you're jumping on the honolulu blue bandwagon bandwagon
- 17:07Speaker 2: welcome back my friend i need.
- 17:10Speaker 3: To tell you about this new prediction market called polymarket
- 17:13Speaker 3: it's the best new way to trade in sports.
- 17:17Speaker 2: In the past if you wanted action on the game
- 17:20Speaker 2: you put some money in and if your team was
- 17:23Speaker 2: doing well and you wanted to cash out they'd lock
- 17:26Speaker 2: the trade or take a huge fee.
- 17:29Speaker 3: But Polymarket is a prediction market. It's a stock exchange
- 17:33Speaker 3: for sports, buying in and selling out on your terms.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Richard, I've tried them all, and Polymarket is simply the
- 17:40Speaker 2: best prediction market. It's better than DraftKings. It's better than FanDuel, CalSheet,
- 17:45Speaker 2: you name it.
- 17:46Speaker 3: And they're so confident that you will never go back
- 17:49Speaker 3: to the other guys that they're giving you a free
- 17:53Speaker 3: $ 25 on your first trade when you deposit just $ 10.
- 17:57Speaker 2: And now they've launched a new feature. It's called Squads,
- 18:00Speaker 2: a group chat where you can see what everyone is
- 18:03Speaker 2: trading on.
- 18:04Speaker 3: So download the Polymarket app today and use the promo
- 18:08Speaker 3: code Sherman when you sign up. That's S-H-E-R-M-A-N to get
- 18:13Speaker 3: $ 25 free after you deposit just $ 10. Monday night delivers
- 18:19Speaker 3: the final statement of the football week. You've spent all
- 18:22Speaker 3: weekend reacting to big plays and big decisions, and now
- 18:26Speaker 3: there's one more matchup to break down. It's the kind
- 18:29Speaker 3: of night you plan around, so dinner should elevate it.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Not pull you away from it.
- 18:33Speaker 3: And DiGiorno pizza lets you enjoy restaurant-quality taste fresh from
- 18:38Speaker 3: your own oven. While you settle in and watch how
- 18:42Speaker 3: the defense disguises coverage, how the offense adjusts, and Who
- 18:46Speaker 3: makes the play when everybody knows the pressure is coming?
- 18:50Speaker 3: Stay locked into the moments everyone will react afterwards to.
- 18:54Speaker 3: The fourth down call, the coverage bust, the turnover that
- 18:58Speaker 3: changes everything.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Monday night is too good to.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Treat like an ordinary weeknight. So don't just make do,
- 19:07Speaker 3: make DiGiorno. It's not delivery, baby.
- 19:10Speaker 1: It's DiGiorno.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Let's take it to Denver. Mile high. The Denver Broncos
- 19:17Speaker 2: welcome the Kansas City Chiefs division battle here. Kansas City
- 19:21Speaker 2: brought back down to earth by your Seattle Seahawks. Now
- 19:25Speaker 2: they got a tough road contest against these Broncos. And
- 19:29Speaker 2: the Broncos looked better last week. Bo Nix played a
- 19:31Speaker 2: bit better last week against Arizona Cardinals. Meanwhile, Kansas City
- 19:37Speaker 2: only scored three points. Who is this Kansas City team?
- 19:40Speaker 2: Because they look so dominant in the first five.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Games of the season.
- 19:44Speaker 2: And then looked like an absolute shell of themselves last
- 19:47Speaker 2: week in Seattle. Who really is this Kansas City Chiefs?
- 19:50Speaker 1: Team? I really don't know.
- 19:54Speaker 3: They are a team that has run the ball really well.
- 19:56Speaker 3: K-9 was having a record-setting season before they ran into
- 20:00Speaker 3: its old team, the Seattle Seahawks, the reigning Super Bowl champions.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes is having a A pretty good season. You know,
- 20:08Speaker 3: his standards are so high that you can't say he's
- 20:10Speaker 3: having a great season. But they're a really good team.
- 20:13Speaker 3: They're a really good team. And with Andy Reid and
- 20:16Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes and Kenneth Walker, I think they're going to
- 20:19Speaker 3: be a formidable matchup. Again, Bo Nix has had a
- 20:21Speaker 3: solid season, but nothing to write home about. And I
- 20:25Speaker 3: think that Kansas City is going to do a great
- 20:28Speaker 3: job on him. They've shown that they can have success
- 20:32Speaker 3: on this defense. And I think they will. I got
- 20:35Speaker 3: the Kansas City Chiefs winning this game, going away.
- 20:40Speaker 2: This is going to be a tough one. I like
- 20:41Speaker 2: Kansas City too. I just think that Seattle is a
- 20:44Speaker 2: bad matchup for them, especially in Lumen Field. Denver, I'm
- 20:47Speaker 2: still questioning them offensively. Obviously, their defense has held them
- 20:51Speaker 2: into games. But, you know, can Bo Nix continue the
- 20:55Speaker 2: momentum that he showed in Arizona? Can he press the
- 20:57Speaker 2: ball downfield more? Can he get Cortland Sutton and Jalen
- 21:00Speaker 2: Waddell more involved? And the other thing to keep an
- 21:04Speaker 2: eye on with this Denver Broncos team is the emergence
- 21:07Speaker 2: of Jonah Coleman, who just came off IR. You know,
- 21:10Speaker 2: this guy is a spark plug that they can plug in.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Rookie out of Washington. He's had more explosive runs than J.K.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Dobbins.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Well, he's got one less explosive run than J.K.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Dobbins.
- 21:21Speaker 2: He's only got 19 carries.
- 21:23Speaker 1: J.K.
- 21:23Speaker 2: 's got about 80. So that goes to show you
- 21:27Speaker 2: how impressive Jonah Coleman is. He might give the Denver
- 21:30Speaker 2: Broncos a little something extra offensively, But there's something about
- 21:34Speaker 2: Kansas City this year. I think they've answered who they
- 21:37Speaker 2: can be coming off injury with Patrick Mahomes, with Kenneth Walker.
- 21:41Speaker 2: I think they're going to be angry coming into this game.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Give me Kansas City as well. Before we leave this game.
- 21:48Speaker 3: And we can't forget that these teams have already played
- 21:50Speaker 3: week one. Now, obviously, everything isn't already set in stone
- 21:53Speaker 3: week one. But I think Kenneth Walker showed who he
- 21:55Speaker 3: was week one. Denver's rush defense hasn't improved a ton
- 21:58Speaker 3: since then. They're not great overall. They're 23rd in yards
- 22:02Speaker 3: per game, which is crazy for a Denver Broncos. Vance
- 22:06Speaker 3: Joseph coached defense. They've always been in the top 10
- 22:09Speaker 3: in most categories. So I think Kansas City has a
- 22:12Speaker 3: great advantage in this game on both sides of football.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Before we leave this game, we saw Kenneth Walker walk
- 22:18Speaker 2: off of Lumen Field last weekend without shaking the hands
- 22:22Speaker 2: of his former teammates. Is this surprising to you? I mean,
- 22:27Speaker 2: what are your thoughts on this?
- 22:29Speaker 1: Is it surprising? No. He's a competitor.
- 22:31Speaker 3: You know, I mean, everybody competes in their own way
- 22:33Speaker 3: and takes losses in their own way. And you get frustrated.
- 22:38Speaker 3: You know, I think he had expectations. You know, sometimes
- 22:41Speaker 3: this is a game you circle on your calendar. And
- 22:43Speaker 3: when you circle a game on your calendar and it
- 22:45Speaker 3: doesn't turn out the way you want to and you're
- 22:47Speaker 3: not able to have the game you want to have,
- 22:49Speaker 3: you know, sometimes you get frustrated and you say, hey,
- 22:52Speaker 3: I'm not shaking hands.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 22:54Speaker 3: I'm not being friendly. I'm not hugging everybody after the game.
- 22:56Speaker 3: I'm not happy about it. I'm going to sit here
- 22:59Speaker 3: and think about this and deal with my frustrations how
- 23:02Speaker 3: I deal with it. Whether people like it or not,
- 23:04Speaker 3: I mean, people don't like a lot of things. I
- 23:06Speaker 3: think we're in a world where people are up in
- 23:09Speaker 3: arms about every single thing. If he shook hands, they'd
- 23:12Speaker 3: be like, he's being too friendly. He wants to be
- 23:14Speaker 3: back in Seattle. He doesn't shake hands. He's not a sportsman.
- 23:16Speaker 3: I mean, it is what it is. It's what sports are.
- 23:20Speaker 3: It's not predictable.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Let's take it to Thursday night football, a game you'll
- 23:24Speaker 2: be at in Green Bay. The Green Bay Packers welcome
- 23:27Speaker 2: the Carolina Panthers. Both of these teams lost this past weekend,
- 23:31Speaker 2: so both have got a lot to play for. Which
- 23:36Speaker 2: team are we going to see? Because we've seen so
- 23:38Speaker 2: much up and down with this Carolina Panthers team throughout
- 23:41Speaker 2: the year. Green Bay, they're battling so many darn injuries.
- 23:46Speaker 2: What are your expectations for this Green Bay team going
- 23:49Speaker 2: into Thursday night football? Do you think they can come
- 23:51Speaker 2: away with a win here against a hungry Panthers team?
- 23:55Speaker 1: Well, we'll see.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Um, Tampa Bay ran the ball down Carolina's throat, uh, for,
- 24:00Speaker 3: to the tune of 258 yards. Carolina is 32nd in
- 24:03Speaker 3: the league in rush defense and Josh Jacobs is back.
- 24:07Speaker 3: And so I know he's seeing this game and licking
- 24:09Speaker 3: his chops and seeing what Tampa Bay did last week
- 24:12Speaker 3: and Bucky Irving and saying, Hey, I can do that. Um,
- 24:16Speaker 3: And Carolina has allowed 27.7 points per game. And that's,
- 24:20Speaker 3: you know, if you're the Green Bay Packers, you have
- 24:22Speaker 3: to feel great about that, especially the way Jordan Love
- 24:24Speaker 3: has been playing and been pushing the ball down the field.
- 24:26Speaker 3: He did not play well versus your Detroit Lions, that's
- 24:29Speaker 3: for sure. But Christian Watson has had a phenomenal season,
- 24:32Speaker 3: 34 receptions, 595 yards, six touchdowns amongst the league leaders
- 24:36Speaker 3: in that category. And I think that him and Matthew
- 24:40Speaker 3: Golden are going to have a really, really great game
- 24:43Speaker 3: this week. but Carolina's past defense is legitimate and they're,
- 24:46Speaker 3: they're tough, but I just, I don't, the both teams
- 24:52Speaker 3: are inconsistent and you don't know what you're going to get.
- 24:55Speaker 3: You know, you think green Bay has figured it out
- 24:57Speaker 3: and they're pushing the ball down the.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Field all day.
- 24:59Speaker 3: And then they go and play your Detroit lions who,
- 25:02Speaker 3: who have had a really rough go at it on
- 25:05Speaker 3: defense the past couple of games. And they go out
- 25:08Speaker 3: there and, and, and kind of lay an egg. And so,
- 25:11Speaker 3: This is one of those games that's really, really 50-50.
- 25:14Speaker 3: I mean, Polymarket has Green Bay at 65% and Carolina
- 25:17Speaker 3: at 35%, but I don't really know. I guess I'll
- 25:21Speaker 3: take Green Bay in this game. Regrettingly, this season, it's
- 25:24Speaker 3: just like every time you take games like this, you
- 25:27Speaker 3: pick them, the team decides not to show up in
- 25:29Speaker 3: any meaningful way.
- 25:30Speaker 1: And you're like, why did I pick them? Oh, because
- 25:33Speaker 1: they used to know how to play football.
- 25:35Speaker 2: It's crazy because we're in week eight, and we're still
- 25:38Speaker 2: trying to figure out who's really good in this league.
- 25:41Speaker 1: There's so much.
- 25:42Speaker 2: We keep going back to it, but there's so much
- 25:44Speaker 2: parity in this league right now, and this matchup exemplifies that.
- 25:48Speaker 2: I would not be shocked whatsoever if Carolina went on
- 25:50Speaker 2: the road and got this win. I also wouldn't be
- 25:52Speaker 2: shocked if the Green Bay Packers blew them out. That
- 25:55Speaker 2: being said, I just think there's more at stake for
- 25:57Speaker 2: the Green Bay Packers right now if they want to
- 25:59Speaker 2: keep pace in this NFC North Division race. Give me
- 26:02Speaker 2: the Packers by a score here, by a touchdown. They're
- 26:05Speaker 2: going to cover the 4.5 spread at home. Richard, you're
- 26:09Speaker 2: going to be there. Thursday night football, make sure you
- 26:11Speaker 2: guys tune in on Amazon Prime to see Richard and
- 26:14Speaker 2: the crew. Let's take it to Buffalo. This matchup could
- 26:18Speaker 2: be a doozy if Lamar Jackson plays. The Baltimore Ravens
- 26:23Speaker 2: are coming into town fresh off a loss last week
- 26:26Speaker 2: and frankly got blown out against Cincinnati 35-13. The Buffalo
- 26:31Speaker 2: Bills are well rested coming off the bye. Lamar Jackson's
- 26:35Speaker 2: a coin flip for this game. How much does his
- 26:38Speaker 2: presence or absence impact your pick in this game?
- 26:43Speaker 3: It's the determining factor. Again, just like last week, and
- 26:46Speaker 3: I said it on here, if Lamar Jackson plays, I
- 26:50Speaker 3: got Baltimore. If he didn't play, and Tyler Huntley played,
- 26:53Speaker 3: Snoop Huntley, who's a solid backup, if he plays, I
- 26:56Speaker 3: got Buffalo. Buffalo's defense is one of the worst in football.
- 27:00Speaker 3: They're right there with your Detroit Lions. They're 31st in
- 27:03Speaker 3: yards per game. They're 31st in passing yards per game
- 27:06Speaker 3: and 15th against the run. And that's the reason I
- 27:09Speaker 3: think this team is not going to go all the way.
- 27:12Speaker 3: It's not because Josh Allen is an incredible quarterback and
- 27:14Speaker 3: puts the team on his back and they got James
- 27:17Speaker 3: Cook who's having another great season and all these great things.
- 27:20Speaker 3: It's because at the end of the day, Josh Allen
- 27:24Speaker 3: can't do it all by himself and he can't play defense.
- 27:26Speaker 3: And if he's not If their defense isn't getting stops
- 27:28Speaker 3: and they can't stop people from moving the ball down
- 27:30Speaker 3: the field, then they're not going to win a Super
- 27:32Speaker 3: Bowl this season. And it doesn't seem like they've gotten
- 27:35Speaker 3: that fixed. But if Lamar Jackson doesn't play in this game,
- 27:38Speaker 3: they're not beating Buffalo.
- 27:39Speaker 2: What do you make of this Lamar Jackson situation? Obviously,
- 27:43Speaker 2: the more weeks go on, the rumors are starting to
- 27:46Speaker 2: swirl more and more. And they're swirling around the fact
- 27:49Speaker 2: that he doesn't want to play because he wants an extension.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Do you believe that rumor? I thought we just went
- 27:56Speaker 2: through this with Lamar Jackson a couple years ago. Do
- 27:59Speaker 2: you believe this is more extension related or do you
- 28:01Speaker 2: believe he's truly injured?
- 28:04Speaker 3: I really don't know. I mean, I would guess he's
- 28:06Speaker 3: truly injured. That would be my guess about the whole deal.
- 28:11Speaker 3: He's a competitor and he's been a competitor his whole
- 28:14Speaker 3: career and he's rarely missed games unless he was seriously hurt.
- 28:18Speaker 3: So I'm not going to put that on him. I'm
- 28:20Speaker 3: not going to put a guy with no history of
- 28:22Speaker 3: doing things like this is going to do something like this.
- 28:24Speaker 3: This is a guy that fights every single day for
- 28:26Speaker 3: his teammates, fights every single game, fights for every yard
- 28:29Speaker 3: that he gets. So I don't think he's going to
- 28:32Speaker 3: feign an injury and stop competing in the middle of
- 28:35Speaker 3: the season with things still right in front of him.
- 28:38Speaker 3: This team still has everything right in front of them.
- 28:41Speaker 3: And This is a big-time game. Last week was a
- 28:44Speaker 3: big game that they needed to have. This is an
- 28:46Speaker 3: even bigger game. They're still over. 500, and if they
- 28:48Speaker 3: can win this game in a very tough AFC North
- 28:52Speaker 3: right now with both Pittsburgh and Cleveland being 5-2, this
- 28:57Speaker 3: would be a huge boost.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yeah, the AFC North is certainly looking like a gauntlet
- 29:02Speaker 2: as well. Let's talk more about the AFC North. We
- 29:05Speaker 2: got Pittsburgh hosting the Cleveland Browns. Polly Market favors Pittsburgh.
- 29:10Speaker 2: giving them a 64% likelihood to win this game and
- 29:13Speaker 2: a three and a half point line. Cleveland comes into
- 29:16Speaker 2: town led by Deshaun Watson. This team might be one
- 29:18Speaker 2: of the biggest surprises, if not the biggest surprise in
- 29:21Speaker 2: the NFL right now. Who do you like more in
- 29:25Speaker 2: this game, Richard? I feel like both teams have a
- 29:27Speaker 2: lot of question marks despite being five and two. Do
- 29:31Speaker 2: you like Cleveland on the road in Pittsburgh?
- 29:34Speaker 3: Both teams are the epitome of a question mark coming
- 29:37Speaker 3: into this game. And neither one of them are teams
- 29:39Speaker 3: I like to watch because it looks like they're accidentally
- 29:41Speaker 3: stumbling to wins. Deshaun Watson has a few fourth-quarter comebacks
- 29:46Speaker 3: in games and another almost comeback.
- 29:48Speaker 1: In his game.
- 29:49Speaker 3: This game could easily be 6-1 if the ball bounced
- 29:53Speaker 3: a certain way. Denzel Boston has been a godsend for
- 29:56Speaker 3: this team. He's 20 receptions, 372 yards. Quinn Quinn Sean
- 30:02Speaker 3: Judkins had a really good game last week, but I
- 30:06Speaker 3: just don't know who these teams are. And Pittsburgh, you know,
- 30:09Speaker 3: their defense can at times be really good and at
- 30:13Speaker 3: times kind of, you know, non-existent. But I think Pittsburgh's
- 30:16Speaker 3: the better team. I would take Pittsburgh in this game,
- 30:19Speaker 3: but every time I take Pittsburgh, Cleveland upsets them.
- 30:21Speaker 1: But give me Pittsburgh in this one.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I like Pittsburgh as well.
- 30:25Speaker 1: They just find a way to win.
- 30:26Speaker 2: It might not be the prettiest brand of football, but
- 30:28Speaker 2: led by Aaron Rodgers, they're getting a little bit more competitive.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Obviously going overseas to France and taking care of the
- 30:35Speaker 2: Saints last weekend was impressive as well. Give me Pittsburgh
- 30:39Speaker 2: in this game. But I am anxious to see if
- 30:42Speaker 2: the Cleveland Browns can pull this one off because if
- 30:44Speaker 2: they improve to 6-2, that's just a wild story. And
- 30:48Speaker 2: it's nice to see Deshaun Watson playing well as well.
- 30:53Speaker 2: um let's talk it's now it's the fourth quarter on
- 30:56Speaker 2: the Richard Sherman podcast we're going to talk quickly through
- 30:58Speaker 2: some of these games here uh that remain on the
- 31:01Speaker 2: slate and the first one starts with the Dallas Cowboys
- 31:04Speaker 2: who are welcoming the Arizona Cardinals into town uh Dallas
- 31:08Speaker 2: Monday Night Football um that second half they blew the
- 31:11Speaker 2: doors off they the Philadelphia Eagles and they look like
- 31:14Speaker 2: this team I said it last night I just don't
- 31:17Speaker 2: get the Dallas Cowboys they've got Some of the biggest
- 31:20Speaker 2: names in football, yet they just can't seem to come
- 31:23Speaker 2: together and play as a team. They looked apart last
- 31:26Speaker 2: night in the second half. Richard, before we get into
- 31:29Speaker 2: this game itself, do you think Dallas has what it
- 31:32Speaker 2: takes to take down this wide-open NFC East?
- 31:38Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know.
- 31:39Speaker 3: But I thought yesterday there were some impressive things. I
- 31:42Speaker 3: thought Caleb Downs played really good. I thought DeMarvion Overshawn.
- 31:46Speaker 3: was a maniac out there. He was all over the field,
- 31:49Speaker 3: had that cool interception. They're definitely a different defense. When
- 31:53Speaker 3: he was out there, Quentin Williams had some really cool
- 31:55Speaker 3: plays where he was hustling around, and they looked the
- 31:58Speaker 3: part last night. Obviously, Dak Prescott is going to do
- 32:02Speaker 3: what he does. CeeDee Lamb is going to do what
- 32:04Speaker 3: he does. Give me Dallas in this game. I think
- 32:07Speaker 3: they're going to win this one going away and kind
- 32:10Speaker 3: of get themselves back on track. The NFC East is
- 32:13Speaker 3: such a toss-up. You just never know. John Harbaugh has
- 32:18Speaker 3: the Giants playing well. I think the team that you,
- 32:20Speaker 3: if you had to bet and you had to put
- 32:22Speaker 3: your money on somebody, you'd put it on Dallas just
- 32:24Speaker 3: because they're the most talented team, you know, the healthier
- 32:27Speaker 3: team out.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Of all the teams left.
- 32:29Speaker 3: You, you, you know, you know what the Philadelphia Eagles are,
- 32:32Speaker 3: but their defense didn't play as well as they could.
- 32:34Speaker 3: They were capable of last night and put a lot
- 32:36Speaker 3: of pressure on Tanner McKee to try to win that
- 32:39Speaker 3: game for him. And, and, you know, you can't expect
- 32:41Speaker 3: the third string, technically second, third string quarterback to.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Get that done. But give me Dallas in this game.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I don't think Arizona's got enough. I agree.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Give me Dallas as well. Let's take it to the
- 32:52Speaker 2: NFC South. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Atlanta Falcons.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Polymarket gives Tampa Bay a 54% likelihood to win this one.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Atlanta just knocked off the San Francisco 49ers, yet comes
- 33:05Speaker 2: into Tampa as underdogs. Atlanta's 3-4. Tampa Bay's 2-5. Another
- 33:11Speaker 2: division that's wildly up for grabs. Who do you like
- 33:14Speaker 2: in this one?
- 33:15Speaker 3: I'm going to go with Atlanta just because they beat
- 33:17Speaker 3: the San Francisco 49ers. Tampa Bay has been so inconsistent
- 33:21Speaker 3: this season. Baker Mayfield didn't have to do a ton
- 33:23Speaker 3: last week. He still got the injury, the injured thumb.
- 33:27Speaker 3: But Bucky Irving had a fantastic game, but I don't
- 33:30Speaker 3: think that's going to be enough this week against Atlanta.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Michael Pennix, nine touchdowns, one interception.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Drake London's a big-time receiver, has 616 yards, only one
- 33:39Speaker 3: touchdown on the season. I think he goes out there
- 33:41Speaker 3: and has a big game. And Bajon Robinson, who's the
- 33:43Speaker 3: best player on this team, continues to put the team
- 33:47Speaker 3: on his back, and they come out with a win.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Then take it to Cincinnati. This team's 4-2. I was
- 33:54Speaker 2: super high on them coming into the season. They won
- 33:56Speaker 2: two in a row. Then they lost two in a row.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Now they're back to winning two in a row. Cincinnati
- 34:02Speaker 2: takes on the Tennessee Titans at home. Polly Mark gives
- 34:05Speaker 2: them an 83% chance of winning this game. What is
- 34:10Speaker 2: the Cincinnati Bengals team? Let's just start there.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know.
- 34:16Speaker 3: You know, that's that's the tough part. You know, they
- 34:18Speaker 3: play defense well sometimes and then other times they don't.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Right now they're in the bottom half of the league
- 34:24Speaker 3: at 21st and yards per game, 22nd and passing yards
- 34:28Speaker 3: per game. But they made some plays in this game
- 34:30Speaker 3: in this past game to help them get that win.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I think their offense is going to do enough, put
- 34:34Speaker 3: enough points on the board with T. Higgins and Jamar
- 34:36Speaker 3: Chase and all the weapons they have on the offensive
- 34:38Speaker 3: side of the ball with Joe Burrow at the helm.
- 34:41Speaker 3: And their defense just needs to get enough stops to
- 34:43Speaker 3: get the win. against a Tennessee team that has not
- 34:45Speaker 3: done a ton on offense or defense.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Give me Cincinnati in this game.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Yeah, Cincinnati, the one glaring hole with Cincy that I
- 34:53Speaker 2: see is their running game. Much like the Seattle Seahawks,
- 34:57Speaker 2: their lead back, Chase Brown, has only got 285 yards
- 35:00Speaker 2: on the season, 82 carries, one touchdown. If this team
- 35:03Speaker 2: really wants to become a contender, they're going to have
- 35:05Speaker 2: to start establishing something on the ground. I, too, like
- 35:09Speaker 2: Cincy in this game. Improving to 5-2 and keeping pace
- 35:12Speaker 2: in that division Let's take it to the Jets, New
- 35:16Speaker 2: York Jets against the Las Vegas Raiders. This Raiders team
- 35:21Speaker 2: was everyone's darling to start the season. Now they're three
- 35:24Speaker 2: and four. The New York Jets have had glimpses of, hey,
- 35:28Speaker 2: maybe this team's good. Now they're two and five. Is
- 35:32Speaker 2: Aaron Glenn on the hot seat?
- 35:35Speaker 3: I think Aaron Glenn was on the hot seat to
- 35:37Speaker 3: begin the season. I would guess nothing has changed since then.
- 35:39Speaker 3: They play better defense. They've got an interception this year.
- 35:42Speaker 3: But I got them losing this game. Kirk Cousins is
- 35:44Speaker 3: leading the National Football League in touchdown passes. Even when
- 35:47Speaker 3: they aren't playing well and even when things aren't playing well,
- 35:50Speaker 3: he has played well. He's got 1,800 yards, 16 touchdowns,
- 35:55Speaker 3: five interceptions. They don't get a ton on the ground
- 35:58Speaker 3: from Ashton Genting and Mike Washington, and that's something that
- 36:02Speaker 3: they need to improve on. But I got them in
- 36:05Speaker 3: this game, even though Geno Smith has played solid football.
- 36:08Speaker 3: He has 1,600 yards, 10 touchdowns, only two interceptions. I
- 36:11Speaker 3: just don't think New York has enough. They just lost
- 36:13Speaker 3: to the Miami Dolphins, who were a winless team and
- 36:15Speaker 3: what everybody expects to be one of the worst teams
- 36:17Speaker 3: in football. And I just don't see how they can
- 36:21Speaker 3: recover from that. But again, Polly Market has this at 51% Jets, 49% Vegas.
- 36:28Speaker 3: So they got it right at 50-50. So I would
- 36:30Speaker 3: imagine that's the way it's going to be. It's going
- 36:32Speaker 3: to be a toss-up game, but give me Las Vegas
- 36:35Speaker 3: in this one.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Well, I'll say this.
- 36:37Speaker 2: If Aaron Glenn doesn't work out with the Jets, we'd
- 36:41Speaker 2: happily welcome him back to Detroit. Bring me back the
- 36:44Speaker 2: D coordinator here to Detroit. Everyone loves Aaron Glenn in Detroit.
- 36:49Speaker 2: But I, too, side with you. The Raiders, they're due
- 36:52Speaker 2: for a win. Give me the Raiders on the road.
- 36:55Speaker 2: And then Indy, so many question marks about this team.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Just traded Quentin Nelson, which we've already discussed earlier in
- 37:01Speaker 2: the pod. They're traveling on the road to Jacksonville, or
- 37:04Speaker 2: I guess it's Orlando, Jacksonville. now to take on the
- 37:07Speaker 2: 4-2 Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville is coming off the bye. Do
- 37:11Speaker 2: you expect them to bounce back and get in the
- 37:14Speaker 2: winning column again?
- 37:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I expect them to dominate this game. Indy is
- 37:18Speaker 3: in a fire sale right now. Fired their GM, Chris Ballard. Hey,
- 37:23Speaker 3: it's Trevor Lawrence and Liam Cohen coming off a bye.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Needing this win. Travis Hunter is playing really great football defensively. Offensively, again,
- 37:31Speaker 3: they have one of the best receiving cores in the
- 37:33Speaker 3: National Football League. A defense that It's fantastic against the run.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Not as great against the pass so far, but they
- 37:40Speaker 3: do turn the football over. Daniel Jones hasn't been having
- 37:43Speaker 3: the season that I think that he's at least the
- 37:46Speaker 3: start of the season that he had last year. He's
- 37:48Speaker 3: got 1,300 yards, almost 1,400 yards, four touchdowns, seven interceptions.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Jonathan Taylor's having a pretty good year. But I think, again,
- 37:56Speaker 3: this is one of the best run defenses in football
- 37:58Speaker 3: in Jacksonville, the best run defensive football statistically right now.
- 38:02Speaker 3: And I think they're going to do a really good
- 38:03Speaker 3: job of containing him And if they do that, they
- 38:06Speaker 3: win this game. Going away, give me Jacksonville.
- 38:09Speaker 1: I agree.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Jacksonville in convincing fashion. But before we leave this one,
- 38:13Speaker 2: you mentioned it. The Indianapolis Colts could be moving into
- 38:16Speaker 2: fire sale territory. Do you think there's a world that
- 38:19Speaker 2: they trade Jonathan Taylor? And which team do you think
- 38:23Speaker 2: would be in the market for Jonathan Taylor?
- 38:27Speaker 3: I think a team that they just already made a
- 38:29Speaker 3: trade with, the Seattle Seahawks, are a team that would
- 38:32Speaker 3: be in the mix.
- 38:32Speaker 1: For Jonathan Taylor as well. And I'm sure.
- 38:35Speaker 3: that John Snyder and Ed Dodds are having those conversations
- 38:37Speaker 3: right now about what it would take. And I'm guessing
- 38:39Speaker 3: it would take a day one pick and maybe a
- 38:41Speaker 3: little bit more to get Jonathan Taylor out of it.
- 38:43Speaker 3: I mean, that's the guy that could help this team
- 38:46Speaker 3: the most. Everybody needs great running backs, but they need
- 38:48Speaker 3: it really bad.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:51Speaker 2: I mean, that's the type of trade that would certainly
- 38:55Speaker 2: change the landscape of the NFL this season. But again,
- 38:58Speaker 2: give me Jacksonville in this game.
- 39:01Speaker 3: DeForest Buckner is home again. San Francisco 49ers are bringing
- 39:07Speaker 3: the boys back home. Brought back Debo Samuel, brought back
- 39:11Speaker 3: Dre Greenlaw, and now bring back DeForest Buckner. Eric Armstead,
- 39:15Speaker 3: you better be looking at your phone because that's what
- 39:19Speaker 3: kind of year it seems like for the San Francisco 49ers.
- 39:22Speaker 3: I know DeForest Buckner is excited to just be back home,
- 39:25Speaker 3: be in that building, be around a team that appreciates,
- 39:28Speaker 3: loves him, and a guy that was drafted there. I
- 39:31Speaker 3: know it's probably a surreal moment for him. He was
- 39:34Speaker 3: frustrated a couple weeks ago just being in the same old,
- 39:37Speaker 3: same old, same old, and watching his former team have
- 39:40Speaker 3: a tremendous amount of success. And then you watch that
- 39:42Speaker 3: team struggle mightily against the Atlanta Falcons. But John Robinson
- 39:46Speaker 3: in that run game, Michael Pennix struggling They did a
- 39:49Speaker 3: great job moving the football, and they needed DeForest Buckner
- 39:53Speaker 3: in that game, and they needed him going forward, and
- 39:55Speaker 3: they have the bye week to get him up to speed.
- 39:57Speaker 3: I'm sure Chris Kocerec is jumping on top of the
- 40:00Speaker 3: tables with excitement and getting this. I know everybody is
- 40:04Speaker 3: going to say, oh, man, they're so young right now.
- 40:06Speaker 1: They don't need this. Just keep developing the young guys.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Veterans develop young guys, and injury rate is 100% in
- 40:12Speaker 3: the National Football League.
- 40:13Speaker 1: There's never too much depth.
- 40:15Speaker 3: You talked about the arms race between The Seattle Seahawks
- 40:19Speaker 3: and the LA Rams, well, the San Francisco 49ers are
- 40:23Speaker 3: very much in that arms race, bringing DeForest Buckner back.
- 40:26Speaker 3: I think that's an incredible addition, a big time addition
- 40:29Speaker 3: to a guy that's going to make a great difference
- 40:33Speaker 3: on this team. And they got him for only a
- 40:35Speaker 3: 2027 fourth round pick. That's a steal. That's John Snyder.
- 40:40Speaker 3: I mean, John Lynch has to be feeling incredibly good.
- 40:42Speaker 3: I mean, John Snyder too, because this NFC West, they're just,
- 40:46Speaker 3: plucking pro bowlers from the Indianapolis Colts. My guy, Ed Dodds,
- 40:50Speaker 3: is dealing his first two moves as a general manager
- 40:54Speaker 3: or controller of this team is to trade away Quentin
- 40:59Speaker 3: Nelson and DeForest Buckner and get some draft picks.
- 41:03Speaker 1: I respect it. I respect it. Very aggressive move.
- 41:06Speaker 3: You know, kind of going to this fire sale mode
- 41:08Speaker 3: and try to rebuild it from the bottom up. I
- 41:11Speaker 3: think that could work out for the Colts, but we
- 41:13Speaker 3: will see. But this move definitely helps the San Francisco
- 41:17Speaker 3: 49ers in a big way, bringing one of their favorite
- 41:19Speaker 3: sons back home.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Love to see it.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Let's take it to LA, the battle of the LA teams,
- 41:25Speaker 2: the chargers on the road, even though they're at home
- 41:28Speaker 2: against the Rams, uh, poly market gives the Rams a 75%
- 41:32Speaker 2: chance to win this game. Is there, is this the
- 41:36Speaker 2: week I'm going to ask you this question every single week.
- 41:39Speaker 2: Is this the week that the chargers finally put a
- 41:42Speaker 2: one in the wind column?
- 41:44Speaker 1: No, it's not. No, it's not.
- 41:45Speaker 3: And The only reason they didn't lose last week is
- 41:47Speaker 3: because they didn't play. You know, the only weeks they
- 41:50Speaker 3: can win is when they don't play. And I told
- 41:52Speaker 3: Chargers fans this, and usually I'm not this harsh on
- 41:54Speaker 3: teams because I'm like, you know, it is what it is.
- 41:56Speaker 1: I thought they checked out for the year already, man.
- 42:00Speaker 1: They might have. They might have.
- 42:01Speaker 3: But I get frustrated with these fan bases that act
- 42:04Speaker 3: like we're saying something crazy when we're criticizing their team
- 42:07Speaker 3: in a fair way. Justin Herbert has not played well
- 42:10Speaker 3: enough for you guys to win this game, and now
- 42:12Speaker 3: you can blame him. the struggles with the offensive line,
- 42:14Speaker 3: the two first round picks, they're all pro tackles that
- 42:16Speaker 3: you got aren't playing as well as they have. Now
- 42:18Speaker 3: one of them's hurt. Uh, the interior offensive line hasn't
- 42:21Speaker 3: played as well. The run game, this three headed, four
- 42:23Speaker 3: headed monster or three headed, four headed mid, uh, monster
- 42:27Speaker 3: or whatever you want to call it at running back.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Isn't working. There is no running back by committee. Nobody's
- 42:32Speaker 3: playing well enough. You don't have enough receivers. I don't
- 42:34Speaker 3: think lad McConkie was the answer. They, they portrayed him
- 42:38Speaker 3: as a number one receiver. He's not, uh, uh, Quinn
- 42:41Speaker 3: Johnson is inconsistent at best. He'd be great as a
- 42:45Speaker 3: two if you guys got a number one receiver. But
- 42:47Speaker 3: I think Matthew Stafford and this Rams team are playing
- 42:50Speaker 3: with a sense of urgency.
- 42:51Speaker 1: They're desperate right now.
- 42:52Speaker 3: They beat the Las Vegas Rams, I mean Raiders, and
- 42:56Speaker 3: they know they have to have this game. Whether the
- 42:59Speaker 3: Chargers win this game or lose this game, it doesn't
- 43:01Speaker 3: change anything in the minds of anybody outside of L.A.,
- 43:05Speaker 3: but the Rams have to have this game to stand
- 43:08Speaker 3: the playoff hunt. I mean, this NFC is starting to
- 43:11Speaker 3: get going, and teams are playing well. Teams are stacking
- 43:14Speaker 3: up some wins, and they need to continue to stack
- 43:16Speaker 3: up some wins. Their defense is playing really well, you know,
- 43:20Speaker 3: fifth in total defense, fourth against the pass. They have
- 43:24Speaker 3: to continue that and hold things off until Miles Garrett
- 43:26Speaker 3: is able to return. Puna Ford and the rest of
- 43:29Speaker 3: these guys, Colby Turner, Trent McDuffie, all these guys that
- 43:33Speaker 3: they have out, you know, they, they gotta, they gotta
- 43:35Speaker 3: get these guys healthy and back in the fold Devante Adams,
- 43:38Speaker 3: but I think they'll win this game.
- 43:41Speaker 2: You know, if you look at the NFC right now,
- 43:43Speaker 2: the way that the wild card is shaken out, it
- 43:46Speaker 2: is going to be highly competitive. I, you know, if
- 43:49Speaker 2: a team's 10 and seven, there's no guarantee that they're
- 43:52Speaker 2: going to get in. So each one of these games
- 43:54Speaker 2: is so crucial for a Rams team that already has
- 43:56Speaker 2: four losses on the, on the scorecard right now. So,
- 44:00Speaker 2: The Rams have got to get hot, and they've got
- 44:02Speaker 2: to stay hot quick. I expect them to win this
- 44:05Speaker 2: game against the Chargers. That being said, with the Chargers,
- 44:08Speaker 2: don't look now, but this schedule doesn't get much easier.
- 44:11Speaker 2: They're at home against the Texans next week, who are
- 44:14Speaker 2: in desperate need to get hot, and then they're at Baltimore.
- 44:17Speaker 2: So I know we called it coming into the season.
- 44:20Speaker 2: We looked at the schedule after they won 0-2 against
- 44:23Speaker 2: Arizona and the Raiders. We said, hey, they may be
- 44:25Speaker 2: staring in the face of an 0-7 start, I might
- 44:28Speaker 2: amend that to 0-9 here, Richard. It is going to
- 44:31Speaker 2: be a brutal, long season for this L.A. Chargers team.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Let's take it to steaming hot Miami. I'm talking about
- 44:40Speaker 2: the climate, not the team here. New England travels on
- 44:43Speaker 2: the road for a division matchup against the Dolphins. Polymarket
- 44:47Speaker 2: gives the Patriots a 76% likelihood of winning this game.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Miami finally got their first win last week against the Jets. Now,
- 44:56Speaker 2: What are your expectations of this game? Do you think
- 44:58Speaker 2: the Pats have any shot of slipping up in this one?
- 45:02Speaker 3: I don't think they have much shot of slipping up.
- 45:04Speaker 3: I know Mike Grable will have this team ready for
- 45:06Speaker 3: a potential trap game. It is a division game, so
- 45:08Speaker 3: I think it's going to be closer than Polly Market
- 45:10Speaker 3: maybe thinks. That 7.5 is a little loose. I think
- 45:13Speaker 3: it's probably a 6-7 point game. But I think the
- 45:17Speaker 3: New England Patriots walk away with this game. I'm not
- 45:19Speaker 3: sure the Miami Dolphins want to keep winning. Somebody was
- 45:22Speaker 3: talking about this. The other day, you look back at
- 45:24Speaker 3: these wins during April, and you're going to be like, wait,
- 45:28Speaker 3: why did we win that game? The difference between the
- 45:31Speaker 3: franchise quarterback you want and the guy you don't want.
- 45:35Speaker 3: But I think New England Patriots win this game. They're
- 45:38Speaker 3: competing for that AFC East crown. They're trying to keep
- 45:42Speaker 3: up with the Buffalo Bills, and they're going to need
- 45:45Speaker 3: this win to try to do that.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Yeah, this is one of the easiest ones to pick
- 45:49Speaker 2: for me this weekend. Give me the Patriots as well
- 45:52Speaker 2: in convincing fashion. And then finally, Philadelphia Eagles, who we
- 45:56Speaker 2: just saw on Monday Night Football, they head on the
- 45:58Speaker 2: road to the Commanders to face division rival Washington. Apali
- 46:03Speaker 2: Market likes the Commanders in this game. 64% chance to
- 46:07Speaker 2: win the game, three and a half point line. Listen,
- 46:10Speaker 2: this NFC East. I know the Giants are ahead. They're
- 46:14Speaker 2: ahead by a few games, but it's relatively wide open.
- 46:17Speaker 2: I don't think the whole NFL world believes in the
- 46:21Speaker 2: New York Giants. They're certainly a fun story to keep
- 46:23Speaker 2: an eye on down the stretch here. But the Washington Commanders,
- 46:27Speaker 2: to me, are a team that should be viewed as
- 46:29Speaker 2: a dark horse because they've got a healthy Jaden Daniels
- 46:32Speaker 2: under center. I know Terry McLaurin went out with a
- 46:34Speaker 2: devastating knee injury the other week, but this team still
- 46:37Speaker 2: has talent on the offensive side of the ball. Do
- 46:40Speaker 2: you think Washington can possibly get hot and make a
- 46:43Speaker 2: run in this division?
- 46:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I really don't know
- 46:47Speaker 3: because you don't know who they are. I mean, the
- 46:49Speaker 3: one win they have this season, Jaden Daniels didn't even play.
- 46:53Speaker 3: Marcus Mariota beat the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
- 46:56Speaker 3: The defense played well, had a touchdown on defense in
- 46:59Speaker 3: that game, forced some turnovers. I mean, one of the
- 47:01Speaker 3: best games they played, most complete games they played all season,
- 47:04Speaker 3: and Jaden Daniels didn't play. So, I'm not sure I
- 47:08Speaker 3: believe this. Now, as terrible as the Philadelphia Eagles defense
- 47:12Speaker 3: played last week, again, this is a league where they
- 47:15Speaker 3: could wake up next week and play phenomenal and hold
- 47:17Speaker 3: this team to under 200 yards. So can Tanner McKee
- 47:22Speaker 3: get hot? Can Tanner McKee find a rhythm and get
- 47:24Speaker 3: this team going? I'm not sure. Give me Washington in
- 47:27Speaker 3: this one begrudgingly just because of how terrible the Philadelphia
- 47:31Speaker 3: Eagles defense played against Dallas Cowboys. But Dallas Cowboys are
- 47:34Speaker 3: a much more talented offense than this Washington Commanders.
- 47:37Speaker 2: This Philadelphia Eagles season, I'm sure they would want to
- 47:41Speaker 2: hit the refresh button on this one. Not a whole
- 47:43Speaker 2: lot of folks saw the season going this way. I'll
- 47:46Speaker 2: join you with the commanders as well. Richard, that concludes
- 47:50Speaker 2: our week eight predictions. It's always a pleasure to sit
- 47:54Speaker 2: down with you midweek. I will let you sign us off,
- 47:57Speaker 2: my friend.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Well, I appreciate you guys joining me.
- 48:00Speaker 3: You can be anywhere in the world, but you're here
- 48:01Speaker 3: with us and we surely do appreciate it.
- 48:03Speaker 1: I hope you guys have a beautiful, blessed week. We
- 48:06Speaker 1: will see you next time.
