- 0:58- care podcast.
- 0:59- Today's discussion is five of the stories that
- 1:02- we're following currently.
- 1:04- The the the first story that we're following
- 1:05- is the 20 hospitals listed as honor roll
- 1:08- hospitals by US News and World Report. And,
- 1:11- again,
- 1:11- not a lot of surprises in this list,
- 1:14- but a lot of great hospitals mentioned.
- 1:16- I'll I'll just quickly mention a lot of
- 1:18- them. Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston,
- 1:22- Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles,
- 1:24- Cleveland Clinic
- 1:26- Hospital, the University of Pennsylvania,
- 1:28- Houston Methodist Hospital,
- 1:30- Johns Hopkins,
- 1:32- Mass General,
- 1:33- three of the different Mayo Clinic hospitals in
- 1:36- Minnesota,
- 1:37- Arizona, and Florida.
- 1:38- Next, Mount Sinai in New York, then New
- 1:41- York Presbyterian,
- 1:42- also in New York, Columbia and Cornell.
- 1:44- In Chicago, Northwestern
- 1:46- Medicine.
- 1:47- In New York, again, NYU, Langone Hospitals,
- 1:51- Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Kudos to
- 1:54- Rush in Northwestern in my neighborhood in Chicago,
- 1:57- next, Stanford Hospital in in Palo Alto.
- 2:00- After that, we've got a number of California
- 2:02- hospitals, UC San Diego
- 2:04- Health, UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, UCSF,
- 2:09- Medical Center in San Francisco, and finally, University
- 2:11- of Michigan Health Ann Arbor.
- 2:13- Again, congratulations to all of those hospitals ranked
- 2:16- as top 20 hospitals,
- 2:17- by US News and World Report.
- 2:20- The the other four stories we're following today,
- 2:22- Second,
- 2:23- four more insurers exiting the Medicare Advantage markets.
- 2:27- That's a sign of the times as Medicare
- 2:28- Advantage becomes less profitable for insurance companies.
- 2:31- Third, hospital health system exits in 2026
- 2:35- or ahead of 2025
- 2:36- rates. Not a huge degree, but something to
- 2:39- watch to see the changes going on in
- 2:41- health care ecosystem.
- 2:42- Fourth, HCA to acquire 40 Texas urgent care
- 2:46- centers.
- 2:47- Again, simply remarkable HCA's growth in this area.
- 2:50- We see it all over the place. And
- 2:52- finally, fifth, Forbes also has the listings of
- 2:54- top hospitals per state. This is a much
- 2:57- longer list, a much broader list
- 2:59- than we have in in The USA US
- 3:03- News and World Report list, but but also
- 3:05- just fascinating to watch what is there in
- 3:08- Forbes' list of best hospitals per state. In
- 3:11- any event, thank you for listening to the
- 3:12- Becker's Healthcare podcast. We hope you enjoy this.
- 3:15- We we love looking at these various different
- 3:17- lists including The US News one, the Forbes
- 3:19- one, and more.
- 3:21- Also, we we find the the growth of
- 3:22- HCA to be fascinating,
- 3:24- amazing what they're doing.
- 3:26- And, also, we find the Medicare Advantage changes
- 3:28- to be fascinating for for insurers exiting the
- 3:30- Medicare Advantage markets. In any event, thank you
- 3:32- for listening to the Becker's Healthcare podcast. Thank
- 3:34- you very, very much.
