- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie, and it's time right now for
- 0:03Speaker 1: us to go to God in prayer. It as always
- 0:05Speaker 1: I invite you to join along with me in prayer,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and today I want to pray about a situation somebody
- 0:12Speaker 1: recently shared with me. She said, what do I do, Sherry,
- 0:15Speaker 1: when I can't forget and you're telling me I need
- 0:18Speaker 1: to forgive? Oh, I understand, I get it, but it's
- 0:22Speaker 1: required by God, and you don't want to block the
- 0:24Speaker 1: blessings of God from your own life. Heavenly Father and
- 0:27Speaker 1: the name of Jesus Christ, we come before you today
- 0:30Speaker 1: with hearts that are heavy, carrying memories God, carrying hurts
- 0:34Speaker 1: that refuse to leave us. Lord. There are wounds that linger,
- 0:39Speaker 1: offenses that have cut us deep, wrongs that we can't
- 0:43Speaker 1: seem to forget. But Father, your word calls us to forgiveness,
- 0:47Speaker 1: not because the pain is small, but because your grace
- 0:50Speaker 1: is greater than every hurt we may ever endure. So Lord,
- 0:54Speaker 1: today we confess the struggle forgiveness feels impossible. Sometimes it
- 0:58Speaker 1: feels unfair. Sometimes we won't justice, we won't answers, we
- 1:03Speaker 1: won't relief, And if we'll be honest God, we won't revenge.
- 1:07Speaker 1: But Father, you remind us that forgiveness is not about
- 1:10Speaker 1: excusing the wrong. It's about releasing the hold it has
- 1:14Speaker 1: on our hearts. Today, God, we surrender that burden to you.
- 1:18Speaker 1: We choose to forgive not for the sake of the
- 1:21Speaker 1: one who hurt us, but for the healing of our
- 1:23Speaker 1: own souls, the healing of our own spirits. Jesus, you
- 1:26Speaker 1: forgave even those who nailed you to the cross. You whispered, Father,
- 1:31Speaker 1: forgive them, for they know not what they do. So, Lord,
- 1:35Speaker 1: if you could forgive that, surely we can find the
- 1:39Speaker 1: strength in you to forgive what we can forgive. Give
- 1:42Speaker 1: us the grace, Father, to let go of the anger,
- 1:46Speaker 1: to let go of the bitterness, to let go of
- 1:48Speaker 1: the resentment, to let go of the pride. Heal us,
- 1:51Speaker 1: God in the places inside us that pain is touched.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Replace the heart with peace, replace the anger with compassion. God,
- 1:59Speaker 1: reply the change of unforgiveness with the freedom of your life. Father,
- 2:04Speaker 1: teach us to release our need for revenge and to
- 2:08Speaker 1: trust your perfect justice. Teach us God that when we forgive,
- 2:12Speaker 1: we're not denying the wrong. We're declaring that our hearts
- 2:15Speaker 1: belong to you. And not to the pain. Help us God,
- 2:18Speaker 1: to walk forward, walk into your life, walking with your mercy, God,
- 2:24Speaker 1: walking in the freedom that comes from obeying your word. Lord,
- 2:28Speaker 1: And we ask for strength to forgive ourselves for holding
- 2:31Speaker 1: on too long to the pain and the hurt, for
- 2:35Speaker 1: letting resentment take root in our eyes, and for allowing
- 2:38Speaker 1: unforgiveness to steal our joy. God wash us. Please renew
- 2:43Speaker 1: our minds, God, and renew our spirits. Let your love
- 2:47Speaker 1: flow so powerfully through us that even in the memories
- 2:51Speaker 1: of the hurt, your grace is stronger and your peace rains,
- 2:54Speaker 1: and that we don't have that something that happens inside
- 2:59Speaker 1: of us, that uncle comfortableness, that discomfort that happens when
- 3:02Speaker 1: we think about the incident. And Father, we thank you
- 3:06Speaker 1: for the freedom that your forgiveness brings. God, we thank
- 3:09Speaker 1: you for your example in Jesus Christ, your spirit that
- 3:13Speaker 1: empowers us, your word that leads and guides us. Today. God,
- 3:17Speaker 1: we choose on purpose to forgive what we cannot forget,
- 3:23Speaker 1: trusting that in doing something, You're gonna turn every pain
- 3:27Speaker 1: into purpose, every scar into a testimony, and every hurt
- 3:32Speaker 1: into a step closer to You. God. We thank you.
- 3:38Speaker 1: We give it to you,
