- 0:17Speaker 1: Fantastic, if you can figure out this joke.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Did you know that garbage men don't have to go
- 0:22Speaker 3: to school?
- 0:23Speaker 4: What?
- 0:24Speaker 3: Did you know that garbage men don't have to go
- 0:26Speaker 3: to school?
- 0:27Speaker 1: I have no idea what the punchline is to that,
- 0:29Speaker 1: but somebody needs to know it so they can go
- 0:31Speaker 1: to the Guilford Fair for free. And I'm willing to
- 0:34Speaker 1: bet Amanda Jo does not know the punchline either. Why not?
- 0:39Speaker 2: Did they pick up trash?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Oh, yes, she got part of the answer in there.
- 0:45Speaker 1: That was very good. You will see her genius momentarily
- 0:49Speaker 1: when you give me the punchline and we give you
- 0:53Speaker 1: a four-pack to the Guilford Fair. Some serious fun down
- 0:57Speaker 1: by the shoreline. I think it's definitely next weekend.

- 1:01Speaker 1: Call now and win now on the Country 92.5 Morning Show.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Country 92.5, happy hump day. Who's this?
- 1:14Speaker 2: It's Jackie.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Jackie. Oh, this is going to be so fun. The
- 1:19Speaker 1: Guilford Fair, beautiful place, good times. If only you can
- 1:24Speaker 1: give me the punchline, which Amanda Jo had part of.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Did you know that garbage men don't have to go
- 1:29Speaker 3: to school?
- 1:30Speaker 2: They just pick it up as they go along. Hey,
- 1:35Speaker 2: Tessa Grace? Yes?
- 1:36Speaker 1: Did you know that garbage men don't have to go
- 1:38Speaker 1: to school?
- 1:38Speaker 3: They just pick it up as they go along.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Make sense.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Jackie Storrs. Four tickets to the Guilford Fair again. It
- 1:49Speaker 1: is next weekend. I think I'm there Saturday night. They
- 1:53Speaker 1: have a wonderful George Strait tribute band that I'm going
- 1:56Speaker 1: to introduce, but you come whenever you want, okay?
- 1:58Speaker 2: That sounds awesome.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You hang on one second, and we'll be right back
- 2:02Speaker 1: to get your details. I knew I'd get you eventually
- 2:05Speaker 1: this morning. She beat me at batting practice yesterday. She
- 2:08Speaker 1: figured out my fake story today, but the kids always
- 2:12Speaker 1: bring her back down to earth. Coming up next, it's
- 2:15Speaker 1: The Scoop.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Eric Church, new music is coming.
- 2:19Speaker 4: I got a clip and a show in Connecticut just
- 2:22Speaker 4: got announced yesterday.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Happy Hump Day and Care Bears Share Your Care Day.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I don't know the time frame. Were you a child?
- 2:29Speaker 3: Care Bear Stare.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Yep.
- 2:31Speaker 1: So you had a Care Bear.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 1: They lit up or something, right? No. Or they had
- 2:36Speaker 1: something in the middle of them, a patch?
- 2:37Speaker 4: Yeah, they all had a different patch in the middle
- 2:39Speaker 4: of their stomach.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Gotcha.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Okay.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Box Wine Day. There's one for the wife. What? When
- 2:45Speaker 1: Peaks Fly Day. We'll talk about that later on in
- 2:47Speaker 1: our Fascinating Facts. And Wonderful Weirdos Day, celebrating geeks, freaks,
- 2:52Speaker 1: and misfits. Birthdays today. Country singer Hunter Hayes is 35.
- 2:59Speaker 1: You know what I bet he wants for his birthday?
- 3:00Speaker 2: A hit.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Michael Bublé is 51. Elliot from E.T., Henry Thomas, 55.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Adam Sandler is 60. Hugh Grant is 66. And I
- 3:15Speaker 1: got to do a shout out to the OG Luke Duke,
- 3:18Speaker 1: Dukes of Hazzard. Tom Wopat is 75. Just the good
- 3:23Speaker 1: old boys. Never mean no harm. Happy Wednesday from the
- 3:28Speaker 1: Country 92.5 Morning Show. Five fifty eight. It is hump
- 3:33Speaker 1: day Wednesday, September 9th. My name is Damon and this
- 3:37Speaker 1: is Amanda Jo. She's going to hit the headlines for
- 3:40Speaker 1: us real quick.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Weather today. Mix of clouds and sun, mostly sun.
- 3:46Speaker 4: A little more humid, possible scattered shower late day, but
- 3:48Speaker 4: highs will be around low 80s. Tonight, the NFL season
- 3:52Speaker 4: kicks off with a Super Bowl rematch. Pats versus Seahawks
- 3:57Speaker 4: in Seattle, 8-20. You can watch on NBC and Peacock. Yeah,
- 4:01Speaker 4: I'm probably only going to make it the first, like,
- 4:04Speaker 4: I'll probably push the first hour.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Good for you, man.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I'm going to be tired tomorrow. Maybe I'll leave it
- 4:10Speaker 1: on the background and hope I absorb it in my slumber.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Oh, Kelly's Cone Connection in Hamden. They've made national news
- 4:18Speaker 4: for their Abit's Treat. It is a waffle cone base
- 4:22Speaker 4: shaped to look like pizza topped with strawberry basil ice
- 4:25Speaker 4: cream topped with strawberry sundae sauce and grated.
- 4:29Speaker 2: White chocolate and white chocolate basil leaves. Cocoa on the
- 4:32Speaker 2: crust even to give it that New Haven char too.
- 4:35Speaker 1: It looks cute and probably delicious. I guess they do
- 4:38Speaker 1: it all the time. They've done tacos and clams and
- 4:40Speaker 1: all kinds of crap.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it looks pretty cool. Strawberry sundaes aren't
- 4:45Speaker 2: my jam, though.
- 4:46Speaker 1: No, I would try.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I would try it.
- 4:48Speaker 1: See, that's news around here. Somebody made an ice cream pizza.
- 4:52Speaker 2: What brings you joy?
- 4:53Speaker 1: Yeah, what brings you joy? Take a quick break. Get
- 4:57Speaker 1: you some traffic. And then fascinating facts have to do.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I said earlier it's when pigs fly day. That's when
- 5:06Speaker 1: improbable things happen. So I'm going to tell you some
- 5:09Speaker 1: improbable things that did happen. Coming up next here on
- 5:12Speaker 1: Country 92.5. I'm going to send a shout out to
- 5:16Speaker 1: my friend Cowboy Joe who writes to me, sends me
- 5:18Speaker 1: a note. Are you going to be at Aldean Saturday?
- 5:22Speaker 1: To which I replied, really? Good morning, brother. Go lay
- 5:28Speaker 1: down some asphalt. Fascinating facts. Like I said, today is
- 5:32Speaker 1: when pigs fly day. There's a day that you celebrate
- 5:35Speaker 1: things that should not have happened. So I found three
- 5:37Speaker 1: things like that. 51-year-old electrician Mike McDermott won the lottery
- 5:42Speaker 1: twice in one year. And both times he used the
- 5:45Speaker 1: same numbers. Vanessa Volnik, 22-year-old flight attendant, was working a
- 5:51Speaker 1: flight that exploded on from a terrorist bomb, she fell
- 5:56Speaker 1: six miles to the ground and survived.
- 6:00Speaker 4: What?
- 6:00Speaker 1: Six miles? How?
- 6:03Speaker 3: Legit.
- 6:05Speaker 1: How? And closer to home, legendary writer, I think I've
- 6:08Speaker 1: done this before, and humorous Mark Twain, was born during
- 6:11Speaker 1: Halley's Comet in 1835. He said, I will die during
- 6:15Speaker 1: its return in 1910. As improbable as it was, he
- 6:19Speaker 1: did indeed pass away on that day.
- 6:23Speaker 2: That's creepy.
- 6:25Speaker 1: When pigs fly.
- 6:26Speaker 2: That's creepy.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Coming up next, it is The Scoop, an inside look
- 6:30Speaker 1: at country music. What do you got?
- 6:31Speaker 2: Well, I don't have anything creepy, but I do have
- 6:33Speaker 2: a taste of New Era Church.
- 6:35Speaker 1: What? It's on the way here at the Country 92.5
- 6:38Speaker 1: Morning Show. Dan and Shay and Justin Bieber.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Did I ever.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Tell you I interviewed Justin Bieber? Did I ever tell
- 6:47Speaker 1: you that story?
- 6:49Speaker 2: No, actually. Like Baby Bieber?
- 6:51Speaker 1: I'll make it really quick. We're at the Grammys. I
- 6:54Speaker 1: went to the Grammys a lot. And it's getting late.
- 6:57Speaker 1: We're at Radio Row. And a guy walks over and says, hey,
- 7:00Speaker 1: there's this kid here. He's looking for interviews. I go,
- 7:03Speaker 1: who is he? Justin Bieber. And I interviewed him. And
- 7:06Speaker 1: right after that, he blew up.
- 7:08Speaker 2: So you met Baby Bieber.
- 7:09Speaker 1: And I had lines where it's like, hi, I'm Justin Bieber.
- 7:12Speaker 1: And I want to be like Damon Scott when I
- 7:13Speaker 1: grow up. It's fun. It's different.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Do you want to be Justin Bieber now when you
- 7:19Speaker 2: grow up?
- 7:20Speaker 1: I do not. Time for The Scoop, sponsored by Monaco Ford.
- 7:25Speaker 1: By the way, we are the Country 92.5 Morning Show.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I am Damon. That is Amanda Jo.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Eric Church putting out a new song tomorrow. That's what
- 7:32Speaker 4: the teaser was all about. Here is a clip of
- 7:34Speaker 4: On the Road. I don't imagine if the song's called
- 7:36Speaker 4: On the Road, maybe he'll hit the road pretty soon. Yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So possibility of album and road maybe coming up. Just
- 7:44Speaker 1: nothing yet.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Florida Georgia Line changed their profile pic on their social
- 7:48Speaker 4: for the first time in five years.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I'm just saying it's getting real. It's getting real, real.
- 7:53Speaker 4: So fingers crossed we get some tour dates soon. Corey Kent, though,
- 7:56Speaker 4: he did release some new tour dates. Now, Corey, in
- 8:00Speaker 4: recent years, did one of our shows. Then he went
- 8:03Speaker 4: and he opened for Morgan Wallen. He's been out on
- 8:05Speaker 4: the road with Al Dean. Going to be coming to
- 8:08Speaker 4: Toad's Place on March 18th with Jacob Hackworth. Tickets will
- 8:12Speaker 4: go on sale tomorrow. Friday, LiveNation.com. But his brand new single,
- 8:17Speaker 4: I am obsessed. It's called Empty Words.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Got kind of a bluesy vibe about him.
- 8:21Speaker 4: We just added that one to our official Country 92.5 playlist.
- 8:25Speaker 2: His album Heartland Rock and Roll will be out on
- 8:29Speaker 2: the 25th.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Coming to Toad's place, huh?
- 8:32Speaker 2: Cool.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Coming up next, feel good story. With the huge anniversary
- 8:37Speaker 1: of 9-11 coming up, a story of just this amazing
- 8:41Speaker 1: gal's quest. I will tell you all about it in
- 8:43Speaker 1: 15 minutes here on the Country 92.5 Morning Show. Country 92.5.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Happy Wednesday. This is the Morning Show. That's Amanda Jo.
- 8:53Speaker 1: My name is Damon. Today's feel-good story. Hannah Bourne was
- 8:59Speaker 1: only three years old when she and her sister were
- 9:02Speaker 1: rescued from the Pentagon on 9-11. But as she grew up,
- 9:07Speaker 1: she started to understand what she had lived through, came
- 9:09Speaker 1: to realize the weight of that day, especially how lucky
- 9:12Speaker 1: they were and how many weren't so lucky. Today, her
- 9:16Speaker 1: and her sister both serve in the military. She's a
- 9:19Speaker 1: captain in the Air Force. Her sister is a bona
- 9:21Speaker 1: fide Marine. But what's even more exceptional is her run
- 9:26Speaker 1: to remember 2977. She is running a mile for every
- 9:32Speaker 1: life lost on 9-11, and she's documenting it very well
- 9:35Speaker 1: on social media. She carries her phone along, and she
- 9:38Speaker 1: checks in at every mile, naming who it's dedicated to.
- 9:42Speaker 1: She says she hopes it serves as a reminder to
- 9:44Speaker 1: the families that they will not be forgotten and hopes
- 9:47Speaker 1: that it will inspire the next generation to carry forward
- 9:49Speaker 1: that promise to never forget. And it's working. I mean,
- 9:53Speaker 1: I was looking at a bunch of her videos, tens
- 9:55Speaker 1: of thousands of likes, comments with every post, a lot
- 9:58Speaker 1: of them from families of law... those lost expressing their gratitude.
- 10:02Speaker 1: She wanted to complete it in a year, but she
- 10:04Speaker 1: changed her approach. She's taken some special runs. For example,
- 10:07Speaker 1: on Friday, she will run 34.3 miles from Long Beach
- 10:12Speaker 1: to Ground Zero for the 343 firefighters who died that day. Wow.
- 10:17Speaker 1: And I'm going to end with one of her favorite quotes.
- 10:20Speaker 1: The best way to honor the people we lost on
- 10:22Speaker 1: 9-11 is to be the people we were on 9-12.
- 10:25Speaker 2: That was choking me up.
- 10:32Speaker 1: As well it should. Country 92.5, it's The Morning Show.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Country 92.5. Happy Wednesday. We're the morning show. 648. My
- 10:43Speaker 1: name's Damon, and here is Amanda Jo. Just to hit
- 10:46Speaker 1: a few headlines for you.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Weather today makes the sun and clouds a little more humid.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Possible scattered shower late day, but highs will be upper
- 10:55Speaker 4: 80s or upper 70s, low 80s. Tonight, the NFL season
- 10:58Speaker 4: kicks off with the Pats versus the Seahawks in Seattle.
- 11:03Speaker 4: 820 kickoff, NBC and Peacock. Also tonight. In Bridgeport at
- 11:08Speaker 4: the Amp, John Fogarty and Steve Winwood.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Really?
- 11:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 1: That would be a decent show. Right.
- 11:14Speaker 2: LiveNation.com. That's more your jam than football tonight.
- 11:17Speaker 4: And Apple today is having their what they're calling surprise
- 11:21Speaker 4: and shine event. New devices are going to get rolled
- 11:25Speaker 4: out at one o'clock.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Expected.
- 11:29Speaker 4: They're expected to roll out the foldable iPhone Ultra, the
- 11:33Speaker 4: iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
- 11:37Speaker 2: As well as AirPods 5.
- 11:38Speaker 4: And this is going to be a big moment because
- 11:40Speaker 4: this is the first time the new CEO has taken
- 11:43Speaker 4: over for Tim Cook. So if that's your jam, you
- 11:46Speaker 4: can watch via YouTube and Apple's event page. But I
- 11:50Speaker 4: have a feeling a lot of those things that come out.
- 11:53Speaker 1: You can hear nerds cheering.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Yeah, but I have a lot of those things that
- 11:58Speaker 4: probably come out will be on people's Christmas lists.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I hate to say it.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I mean, I have all Apple stuff, but it's so
- 12:04Speaker 1: dang expensive, man.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Anyhoo, there you go.
