- 2:13Well. Now it's time to get into today's episode of Sherlock Holmes, The
- 2:16Adventure of the Red Death from New York City, the makers of Clipper Craft
- 2:29clothes for men and more than twelve hundred leading retail stores from coast to coast.
- 2:34Presenter Arthur Conan Doyle's immortal character, the world's most famous detective, Sherlock
- 2:39Holmes, starring John Stanley. This week's story the Adventure of the Red Debt
- 3:00from Watson went off to the doctor, but to our homes. Not a
- 3:02word to a soul about where we're going. That applies to you, Waltz,
- 3:06mister Edwards. They should be absolutely mum, mister Holmes. The silence
- 3:08is not so much in your interest as in that of good people of London.
- 3:13Can you conceive of anything more likely? It's not a horrible panic and
- 3:15the knowledge that tonight a pyromaniac runs amuck in the city's streets. You owe
- 3:28it to yourself to look your best, even in the crushing heat of summer.
- 3:31And that's precisely why you should choose a clipper Craft summer suit. When
- 3:36you wear a clipper Craft suit of special lightweight construction, you keep cool because
- 3:40millions of tiny woven windows afford such perfect ventilation. You look cool too,
- 3:46because clipper Craft suits are so perfectly tailored they retain their Christmas long after other
- 3:53suits are heat crumpled and saggy from every angle. A clipper Craft summer suit
- 3:58is a fine investment. For only thirty three seventy five to forty two fifty,
- 4:02your Clippercraft suit will be envied by men who pay much more. Clippercraft
- 4:08is one of the greatest values in America because you benefit from the economies of
- 4:13the unique Clippercraft plan, whereby more than twelve hundred independent merchants from coast to
- 4:17coast pool that tremendous buying power. So look better, feel better, and
- 4:23save money. Look for the Clippercraft labeled doctor Watson. What did you mean
- 4:34when you gave to Night's memoir the title of the Adventure of the Red den
- 4:40Well. It was a type of death criminally administered by a certain gentlemen in
- 4:44our storys to heads. The adventure began at a waterfront cafe by the London
- 4:47Docks, which extend from the Tower Bridge to beyond north Woolwige Mile, upon
- 4:53mild of keys, warehouses, great basins and a bursting the shipping from the
- 4:58farthest corners of the earth. At the west Inderdocks, there was a cafe
- 5:02called the Smiling Duchess. It was frequented by men of all the seven seats.
- 5:08In the back room, the owner, Peter Nichols, set by a
- 5:10huge oaken tib in the flickering candle light, talking to a very attractive young
- 5:15lady named Vicki, who was employed. There was a waitress, Yes,
- 5:23Peter waiting, DOESTI? Oh? We acted up now and then to be
- 5:29expected. It's come from a home for the criminally insane. You know,
- 5:34tell me, captain where I don't remember this place? Did I ever hear
- 5:42before? Are easy? Captain? Easy? Said? I don't remember you
- 5:47either or this girl. Why was I brought here? Because? Won't ask
- 5:53more questions? Will lay? Oh no, you're out of that place,
- 5:56you see, said, I'm Peter Nichols. You remember old Peter, the
- 6:02smiling duchess. Now don't you certainly remember me? Don't you? No man
- 6:06that comes here forgets Vickie. I think Captain who's just a few years ago.
- 6:12Every time you're shipped up to here in London, you'd stop by for
- 6:15a swinger. Rum Pecher Nichols. Oh yes, now I know you.
- 6:18You are out of the insane asylum, Christopher West, and you understand that.
- 6:24I'll listen to me. You're free. We got you out, me
- 6:29and Vicky again. We needed you, We needed your talent. So Vicky
- 6:34spoke with a guard at the asylum. I gave her money. She used
- 6:38her charms. The God let you out and turnd you over to Earth.
- 6:42Ah see, I was confused. It didn't him so quickly I'd fallen asleep
- 6:48in a cell. The God, whoop me up. You're going to enjoy
- 6:51yourself now, Christopher West, the way you liked her. Are you going
- 6:57to find whatever equipment you need and you're going to start fires for us?
- 7:01Yes, the fire. They wouldn't let me. Most people won't admit the
- 7:06satisfaction, you know, but I do. Did you ever see how a
- 7:10man's eyes light up when he sees a fire. I want to see things
- 7:15burn, the flames eating away the cuts of the building till it's a black
- 7:19hulk. Where when do we start the fire? Sooner enough? Why do
- 7:25you want me to start it? Do you like to see things burn?
- 7:30The youle love the flames that I do? Yes, Captain List. That's
- 7:33why that's a warehouse nearby on Cuba Street, by the Southwest India Dock Pier.
- 7:40I want to see it burn. That's why we took you out of
- 7:44that awful hospital. I'm grateful for that. You wouldn't let me start fires,
- 7:48and when I can't, it is pressure in me. I can't stand
- 7:54it. We need you. You can start fires so quickly, so easily,
- 7:59so surely, and no one will know. Wayne Tonight, Captain West
- 8:05Tonight, you have the equipment, Captain West, he's Peter. I'm ready.
- 8:24Go on, we'll meet you back at the inn. Good good,
- 8:28go on, Captain, start the fire. That's it. I find these
- 8:31bales, Vicky. I'll watch him. Wait shadows disappearing sea in the dark.
- 8:37There, I'll wait the flames. See, yes, that's spreading quickly.
- 8:45The fact a marvelous idea of mine, I VICKI West doesn't know what
- 8:50we'll do now while the fires blazing. If they suspect Arson, they'll chase
- 8:54him, not us. We could always deny how beginning to do with him
- 8:58if he talks. He's legally insane, irresponsible. Curiously, we're better leave
- 9:05part of the job to do now. Come on. Your name is at
- 9:24once George Edwards. Mister Holmes, I'm the director of the Hampton County Hospital
- 9:30for the criminally and see are you a physician, sir? No, doctor
- 9:33Watson. Mine is a political post, which is why I've come here to
- 9:37Baker Street. Mister Holmes, Just why have you come here? Impatient has
- 9:41escaped terribly dangerous men, Captain Christopher West paramaniac. He's been responsible for the
- 9:48destruction of millions of pounds worth of property, the hospitalization of hundreds of fire
- 9:54victims, in the death of a considerable number of others. I see,
- 9:58why haven't you adopted the ordinary procedure and alarmed the police. If I were
- 10:01to tell the police, mister Holmes that the investigation political opponents would charge me
- 10:07with incompetence and I'd lose my post. You must find this maniac, will
- 10:13you, mister Holmes, and you describe this Captain West. I brought our
- 10:18file card his portrait characteristics, Yes, intriguing the circumstances of his escape,
- 10:26mister Edward, you've looked into that. I presume I hear, mister Helmes.
- 10:31Bigger guard was careless. He left the cell door open. West must
- 10:35have stoolen down the hallway and then over the wall. Well is it a
- 10:39simple matter to climb over your protective wall? Were you? Gentlemen implying that
- 10:43I've been lax? But it's curious said that an escape from a home for
- 10:46the insane, which should be child's play, a glance in the wrong direction
- 10:50by the guard, and the entire city of London's menace. Curious juxtaposition of
- 10:54facts, mister Edwards. Your juxtaposition, mister Holmes. Cam Watson a camp
- 11:01were oft to the docks by because of his dossier I read about Captain West.
- 11:05He was a sea captain with a great passenger ship. He was ordered
- 11:07to retire by his ferm. He refused when the firm in Cisti. He
- 11:11became furious. He desired revenge. He set fire to their ships as they
- 11:16lay in the docks. He found there was an immense satisfaction in creating fires.
- 11:22Became a pyromaniac. Always in the area of the sea, always a
- 11:26fire that threatened to harbor, and the ships at anchor there were off to
- 11:28the docks. Watson and mister Edwards. Not a word to a soul.
- 11:33He should be absolutely mum, mister. The silence is not so much in
- 11:35your interest as in that of the good people of London. Can you conceive
- 11:39of anything more likely to start a panic than the fact that to night a
- 11:43pyromaniac runs a muck in the city's streets. One of America's proudest traditions is
- 11:58the saga of the staunch clip shifts. These wonderful vessels established honest New England
- 12:03quality everywhere in the world. Today. Quality is identified in finer men's suits
- 12:09by the clipper craft, labeled symbol of quality and economy, guarantee of finest
- 12:13tailoring and choicest materials. The fine, independent local merchant who sells clippercraft clothes
- 12:20invite you to inspect his great collection of lightweight Clippercraft suits add only thirty three
- 12:26seventy five to forty two fifty. Compare them with suits costing many dollars more,
- 12:31and you'll agree that never before has there been such value in lightweight summer
- 12:35fabrics, such value in style and workmanship. Undoubtedly, clipper Craft clothes represent
- 12:41one of America's greatest clothing values. That's why men who know insist on Clippercraft
- 12:46clothes bearing the Clippercraft labeled. So be sure to visit the clipper Craft store
- 12:50in your city. These leading stores in the metropolitan area are proud to add
- 12:56their names to Clippercraft in your suits, sport jackets and tropicals. In Manhattan
- 13:00Sacks thirty fourth Broadway at thirty fourth John Wanna make Her Men's Stores Broadway at
- 13:05eighth and sixty seven Liberty Street in Brooklyn, Abram and Strauss in New York,
- 13:09New Jersey Boulevard Men's Shop Kraisgy New York. And in Jamaica, the
- 13:13B and B Clothes Shop one six four oh eight Jamaica Avenue, Doctor Watson,
- 13:26Doctor Watson, You and mister Holmes were dashing to the docks of London
- 13:28to find Christopher West the escape Pyromania. If so we were mister Harris.
- 13:33That night our carriage raced across the cobblestones by the edge of the water,
- 13:37as the silhouettes of countless ships passed to our right. London's fabulous docks flew
- 13:43past the giant grenaries, the endless acres of bales and packing boxes, the
- 13:48crates of wool and aveny, the pungent odors of pile and cough spice wells.
- 14:01You know as well as I do that London's darks are forty five miles
- 14:05long. How shall we find what's Captain West? He's already announced his whereabouts?
- 14:09Watson, he has smoke, see it curling up towards the sky from
- 14:13that warehouse on twa Street. Well, Joe, he's been here and it
- 14:16worked too. Evidently the pie has been extinguished. We shall steal into this
- 14:20warehouse and see what we may see up here. Driver and step down,
- 14:28Watson, keep the change, Driver and wait here. Now. Let us
- 14:37hope that this smoldering ruin has been abandoned except for a watchman or two,
- 14:41and we may examine this warehouse without incompetent meddling from the police here, for
- 14:45Watson would be extremely dangerous running wood whose beams blasted smoke. Keep your hands
- 14:50over your mouth. You shall proceed very quietly into this wreckage, slowly,
- 14:56carefully. The maniac may be hiding here. Well, we've searched extensively.
- 15:11Hose an inclusion, I can confirm, Watson that this fire is of incendiary
- 15:15origin, most likely therefore the work of Christopher West. How can you confirm
- 15:18it? By those duck stains upon the floor, look and carrying his bottle
- 15:24of ink, West spilled a few drops accidentally as he ran. But why
- 15:28homes this ink? Watson is the type frequently employed for marking purposes at a
- 15:31laundry subvert im more mystified than ever. Certain laundry inks Watson contain a compound
- 15:37that may be made highly explosive, so much so that they ignite themselves.
- 15:41Of course, assisted by bits of cotton and sawdust or paper, they'll soon
- 15:46created considerable blaze. This is an empty warehouse. It's most unlikely that laundry
- 15:50ink would be found here unless it were brought in by a saboturna look hose
- 15:54to the window. Another fire run. Watson must reached that fire unless we
- 15:58make pace. We shall never find Christopher West. Oh, it goes the
- 16:14last of the Fimer homes. They've managed to extinguish the second blaze. They'll
- 16:18probably be a third shortlist. Yes, Watson, doesn't the geography of these
- 16:23two gutted warehouses strike you? Was fascinating? The geography host, Yes,
- 16:29think of their positions. Then the fact that both were deserted before the blaze
- 16:33began. Where does that lead you? Home? Close to the solution,
- 16:36Watson, And you know where Christopher West can be found? Not just yet.
- 16:38That may be determined quickly by my retiring to the King Neptune, which
- 16:42is a popular tavern nearby, for a glass of beer. Hundreds of persons
- 16:48may be trapped and burned alive in the next few hours, because as Pyromaniac
- 16:52is scurrying about finish with starting fires, you're retiring to a tavern glass of
- 16:56beer. Oh, I've no use for the stuff, I assure you.
- 16:59I'll offend my taste. My preference for wine and put a certain vintage cannot
- 17:03be satisfied, however, at the King Neptune. Therefore, I'm a street
- 17:06beer. Wait by my carriage, Watson, I shall rejoin you shortly with
- 17:10the exact site of Christopher West's next attempt. We are doing well, Captain
- 17:25West, very well tonight. I'm proud in my work. Peter. Did
- 17:30you see the last warehouse like a great kindel in the sky. I didn't
- 17:33start another far, Peter, Just one more? We need mad One's foolish
- 17:38becky fire so far appeared to be accidents, at least till we've taken care
- 17:42of our end of this business. We haven't enough, Peter, Oh what
- 17:45a bit more? Fired? Me? Too much? Greedy? Should be
- 17:51contempt greedy? Am I? After all these years it's like rubby waitress putting
- 17:55up with anything those drunken sailors did just to sell another glass at beer.
- 17:59Oh no, you've a fine idea. We're going to see it through.
- 18:02For all its work, it's been the ruin of more than one begree Would
- 18:07you let it start one more fire? But not for yourself? Then for
- 18:10me, Peter? We can go away together. You were do want to
- 18:15be with me? Don't you all right? Let me get out out of
- 18:21London and out of England. That's it. Do you know where the next
- 18:22fist would be? I don't come, Captain, he should be more fires,
- 18:26Peter, any more. No, I'm like an artist who hasn't finished
- 18:30an exquisite painting. Quietly and hurry here we are, captain, that were
- 18:47I see it? How will you stop this one? This kendle, this
- 18:51fucking alive, most willy, no trace there will be destroyed. I take
- 18:56the candle, soe, and with one delicate strokes, the magnificence of a
- 19:02great fire is born in the lime. In lever me ABEGI a scene leads
- 19:07an odor. He didn't make them suspicious in not line though, go on
- 19:11whist see you after, would you, Peter? Now now I do it
- 19:18again. Step into the warehouse, just lift this window and climbing and now
- 19:33Christopher, whist that wonderful moment again, that moment before you start the fire?
- 19:40Yet alone, free, no one to disturb you, match user,
- 19:51a watchman. Wait behind this post. I see us here, I at
- 19:59your job. Break when shut up good and make a sound of breaking,
- 20:03Nika, I can snap it like this. I'm going to start a fire
- 20:10and you won't stop them. You won't live to see that. They take
- 20:14me back. Now, I won't go. I won't start the fire away.
- 20:18I clean though, I'm a much better idea. I'll start it with
- 20:22you. I can hold you and put the candle to your clothes. The
- 20:33flames will reach stack fo your face, your eyes, your hair, away
- 20:41from that woman who your coat bots and take it off those flames. I'll
- 20:45keep an eye on Weston. The flames God, thank you, thank you.
- 20:53Tend to run off, Captain Weston. I just wanted to watch one,
- 20:57alright, Watson, Who are you? I am Sherlock Holmes. This
- 21:02is doctor John Watson, the gentleman before you was Christopher west and escaped pyromaniac
- 21:07gloribly. We shall return you to the Hampton Hospital. Captain will I'll never
- 21:11go back. You won't happen. There's Father in my hand. Make sure
- 21:17that vision. Nichols, don't wait for the revolving your coat, Doctor Wats,
- 21:21I'm just not where you are. You'll us you were just in time.
- 21:23Peter, we'll go all of us. He'll kill us an no,
- 21:30doctor Watson, I'm a mike. Two wives for that. You see my
- 21:33old favor. Catch up with me. I'll serve time. I won't hang
- 21:37for murder. You'll serve time, Peter Nichols for rubbing the warehouse is adjacent
- 21:41to those where you had west started the fires. Perhaps the robberies haven't been
- 21:45discovered yet. The silks, the perfume, the first you planned to take
- 21:48during this third fire. Let that catch make persons. Come on, Captain,
- 21:56who rather the key? I'll find a horse after them homes and by
- 22:00Watson team, I change is my atu Just wait wait now, Watson,
- 22:06your revolver take it. If they want to play hide and seek in and
- 22:08out of these countless crates and bales along these dots, we'll play their game.
- 22:23I'm exhausted, hurt my leg. See a new sign on them?
- 22:27I saw a glimps to Vicki's colored dress off the left, by the gangways
- 22:30of the wine boards. Very quietly, Watson, they may be concealing themselves
- 22:34behind a stack of wine barrels. I swear I saw Vickie. Think the
- 22:44three of them are there? Yes? Should we look? No? They
- 22:45might be waiting for us to do just that, and they pounce upon us.
- 22:49No, we'll take a chance fired in that direction that we wine discussion
- 23:00from the barrels where I shot and Peter the captain, the girl or son
- 23:03of them? Oh, yes, you got them? How can you be
- 23:04sure? Look? There spattered on the base of the barrels Watson, blood
- 23:23before you light your pipe and relaxed into one of your typical Baker Street reveries,
- 23:27from which I do not dare to disturb you. Tell me how did
- 23:32you know Christopher West would be at the particular warehouse? Are you fall?
- 23:37Will you recall? Watson? By mentioning the geography of the burnt warehouses,
- 23:41I observed that although each was empty, each was also directed beside another warehouse
- 23:48which contained priceless merchandise. It occurred to me that this was a maneuver whereby
- 23:52someone Peter Nichols, as it developed and deliberately freed Captain West and set him
- 23:57loose to start fires. Peter, whose an old hand at the Wards,
- 24:02must have known the West case and the merchandise. The fire, you see,
- 24:06districted the police. During the excitement, Peter and Vickie would sneak into
- 24:11the adjacent warehouse and help themselves. Ah see, But how did you know
- 24:15exactly which warehouse would be next? Will you recall? I left you to
- 24:18visit the King Neptune Tavern by drinking a beer with a seaman there. It
- 24:23was a simple matter to listen to their eternal gossip, and to determine which
- 24:27warehouse had recently received a shipment of highly priced goods that indicated the spot where
- 24:33West would most probably strike next. Pleasure knows. Why do these things seem
- 24:38so utterly obvious after you've explained, Because weak minds are like a microscope,
- 24:45magnifying trifling things, but unable to receive the larger ones. However, for
- 24:52your humble servant, Elementary, my dear Watson, Elementary, well, doctor
- 25:10Watson, the Red Death was a gripping adventure. What became of Edwards,
- 25:14the director of the asylum, Well, he was innocent enough, mister Harris.
- 25:18He discharged the guard bribe by Vicki Petere and Vicky of course received long
- 25:22prison sentences, and Christopher West was safely returned to the hospital. Well,
- 25:26doctor Watson, you know usually at this time I ask you what you've planned
- 25:30for next week, and we'll look forward eagerly to another exciting adventure with you
- 25:34and mister Holmes. But I am very sorry to say that we've reached the
- 25:38end of our current seater series. Doctor. Yes, that's right, mister
- 25:41Harris, someone is with us again. Time for all of us to go
- 25:45scooting off on our vacations. So I regret that we've shot me together for
- 25:48a while. Well, we'll be waiting for you, doctor Watson. These
- 25:52evenings with you and Holmes have been most enjoyable. Well, thank you,
- 25:56mister Harris, and our thanks also to the makers of Clippercroft Clerk. May
- 26:00I wish you and yours a pleasant summer holiday. The makers of clipper Craft
- 26:11Clothes and more than twelve hundred stores from coast to coast have brought you the
- 26:15last in the current series of broadcasts featuring the world's most famous detective, Sherlock
- 26:22Holmes. Our stories were based upon the character Sherlock Holmes, created by Sir
- 26:26Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes was played by John Stanley and Doctor Watson by
- 26:32George Felton. This week's story was written by Howard Merrill, with special music
- 26:37by Albert Berman. If you don't know your clipper Craft dealer right clipper Craft

- 27:21Welcome back. Yeah, you know, looking Nitpick Holmes and Solution too much.
- 27:27But I kind of wonder what would have happened if the if the warehouse
- 27:34he had named han uh you know, a bunch of warehouses around it.
- 27:40It might have complicated the conclusion of the case. But at any rate,
- 27:45that brings to a close. The John Stanley run uh as Sherlock Holmes and
- 27:53program would be back next season with ABC and a different sponsored but I believe
- 28:00one that will be familiar to some of our long time listeners. But that
- 28:06let's turn to listener comments and feedback. Received an email from Kevin says,
- 28:11Hi again, Adam, I hope just because it seems you are reading fewer
- 28:14listener comments these days, that doesn't mean you are getting less of them.
- 28:19But I know how one can get busy and not always take the time to
- 28:22write a note, So I'm trying to catch up a bit. Well,
- 28:25thanks a lot, Kevin, and I try to read everything we get.
- 28:30So there's been a decline a little bit, and I will say the Dragnet
- 28:34podcast tended to get more comments than the Detective podcast in terms of email as
- 28:44such, even though there was only one episode of that a week. He
- 28:47continues, as you know, I've been enjoying your podcast for quite a while.
- 28:51Thank you again for all the time and work you put into them.
- 28:55I very much enjoyed not only the shows, but your commentary as well.
- 28:59The last to a Life in your Hands episodes contained something I've never heard before.
- 29:03Any idea why the phrase this is a partially transcribed by Bell Production I
- 29:08would have been used. I suppose Bell would be the telephone company who provided
- 29:12network lines and transcription perhaps, But why the need to indicate partially transcribed in
- 29:18this case? As to that, I've never heard Bell referred to either,
- 29:22but I know they've provided services. Unless I'm completely off base about who Belle
- 29:27is referring to, well, I'm not sure myself, but I don't think
- 29:32it'd be the telephone company. Bell. I think is a common name and
- 29:36production company as opposed to a telephone company partially transcribed. It's kind of an
- 29:42interesting state of affairs. Are part of the show was prerecorded and part of
- 29:48it is handled live. I guess there could be some convenience for that,
- 29:52depending on the schedule of Carlton Gadell. I suppose it's possible they could have
- 29:59recorded the scenes involving the murdered man and that part would have been transcribed,
- 30:06but the part with Carlton Cadell may have been actually performed live. Or as
- 30:11Jimmy Durranty would say, vicey Versey, there was a similar label on early
- 30:19television shows. I've watched a lot of episodes of CBS's A Climax, and
- 30:26they had one episode where they said that part of it had been pre recorded,
- 30:32so part of it live, part of it recorded. I guess based
- 30:36in that case on the complexity of the scene. Kevin continues, although I'm
- 30:40having difficulty with the Stanley Spellman series of Sherlock Holmes, I'm still waste at
- 30:45how well Spellman I e. Wendell Holmes does it playing British. I became
- 30:48familiar with him through X minus one, among other things, and this is
- 30:53quite a different role for him. I still wonder, though, if I
- 30:56would have liked both of them much better with someone one else doing the writing.
- 31:00All the same, Thanks for plowing through and presenting them to the end.
- 31:04I sometimes get the feeling that everyone involved in the show, from announcer
- 31:07to actors, to audio engineers, writers, even Alfred Berman and his music,
- 31:12were really getting tired of clipper Craft and its dictates. Although Stanley was
- 31:17never my favorite, I seem to remember his early clipper Craft shows being better,
- 31:22but perhaps I've forgotten anyway, just my museums from what they're worth or
- 31:25not worth. Thank you again very much, you know, I think it
- 31:29does kind of vary, to be honest to me. The first few episodes
- 31:37of this season, really I think we're the weakest of the series. It
- 31:45did seem to get a little bit better toward the end, and of course
- 31:49this season did actually see improvement of ratings. The nineteen forty seven forty eight
- 31:57series with the earlier Sherlock Holmes stories pulled in a five point three Hooper rating.
- 32:06This Susan was up to six point six, nowhere close to the ten
- 32:10point nine and enjoyed the last season that Basil Rathbone was on the show,
- 32:16or even the eight point five when Nigel Bruce remained behind with Tom Conway,
- 32:24but certainly an improving number overall. And I guess a gentleman that emailed us
- 32:30about advertising on the show, and Sherlock Holmes actually is our most downloaded series
- 32:37spot all the issues with writing, etc. And there was also that award
- 32:45received from the Baker Street Regulars in the United States, but there was some
- 32:50popularity for it. But I couldn't help but think there might be something to
- 32:53it on some of these programs, because you know, you're in New York,
- 32:57you have Broadway, you have so much quality theater going on that it's
- 33:07really hard for actors not to know if they're not you know, if they're
- 33:13not performing in quality work. All right, well, we have one more
- 33:16question and then we will ramp up for today. Greg asked regarding my page
- 33:22the Big List of Detective Shows, I really want to know how you labeled
- 33:28this posting the big List of Detective Shows. Well, Greg, you take
- 33:34a look at the list of radio detective shows. It is both exhausting,
- 33:39you know, exhaustive and exhausting, and so many, so many on that
- 33:51list. I wanted to convey that this is, you know, a huge
- 33:54list. There are a lot of shows there, A lot of shows were
- 33:59considered. Arene doing a few shows we've decided it would rather not deal with,
- 34:08and so thus the Big List of detective shows is born. You can
- 34:14take a look at our current big list at big list dot Great Detectives dot
- 34:17net for a list of all the shows that we're doing, not doing,
- 34:22thinking about doing. I got to listen to more episodes, and really that
- 34:25got to listen to more episodes category. It's gone down to some shows that
- 34:31have relatively few, you know, two or three episodes out there, and
- 34:36I'm kind of savoring them because I almost hate the idea of Okay, I've
- 34:40listened to and I'm aware of every radio detective show in existence, because that
- 34:45means no more to discover, so that the list of I don't know shows
- 34:52as slowly dwindling as we add shows. Both ways, all right, well
- 34:58that'll do it for today. We will be back tomorrow with your schuli Johnny
- 35:01Dowler, and then join us back next Thursday. We will have a new
- 35:07Sherlock Holmes and been right in the meanwhile, send your comments to Box thirteen
