• 0:01
Speaker A: He was born on a Saturday in 73 he loves punk rock music fighting
• 0:06
Speaker B: the 13 cabin in the dazzle Jazz rock Now on the beat guitar with a short wind radio bass his motherfucking envy scar Motherfucker. Cuz here he comes Andy Sculling wearing his orange hat welcome to unsigned 518. I guess this is like a special episode.
• 0:33
Speaker A: Yeah, I would say something like that.
• 0:34
Speaker B: Yeah. I have Kiki at the Dazzle Den. That's special.
• 0:37
Speaker A: My first time in the den.
• 0:40
Speaker B: Yeah. And we're, we're here to talk about the Cana Cruise, like, specifically. That's coming up. Very cool event. I'm. I'm super stoked for it. But we also have some product from the sponsors, some stuff.
• 0:56
Speaker A: Yeah, we're gonna smoke a little weed and talk about the cruise and talk about how fun being high on a boat is.
• 1:04
Speaker B: Yeah. So I guess let's start with like Cana Cruise was, Was your idea.
• 1:10
Speaker A: Yes. And I, I wanted to do it last year, obviously. Didn't do it. Did do it. So then literally in like early March, I was like, we're doing this. I was like, we have to fucking do it. I want to do this. If I don't do this now, I'm never going to do it. And I've been really wanting to get into kind of like the can event space. I'm a huge can of supporter, you know, like, been smoking since I was like 17, 16, you know what I mean?
• 1:38
Speaker B: So like, literally every day, you know, Truly.
• 1:41
Speaker A: And the only reason it dwindled was because I had children. So I can't really.
• 1:47
Speaker B: Mine didn't dwindle with a one year
• 1:49
Speaker A: old, you know, I mean, I could, but.
• 1:52
  Speaker B: Right.
• 1:52
Speaker A: You know, I'd be like, you don't like these strawberries, bro?
• 1:57
Speaker B: Watch that episode of Bluey again.
• 1:59
Speaker A: No, not even. They like this show called if you give a mouse a cookie. Or this other one called Sheriff Labrador, which I hated in the beginning because I was like Cops. But I decided I really like it
• 2:10
Speaker B: now because Paw Patrol. Bunch of.
• 2:12
  Speaker A: Oh, no.
• 2:12
  Speaker B: Paw Patrol too.
• 2:13
Speaker A: Because my son's name is Rocky and the one. And he loves garbage and recycling and the one character that is the garbage recycling, like tinkerer dude. His name is Rocky and he's green. It's my son's favorite color too. So it's like, he's very into it. But. But I was like, we have to do this. And so then we called the Dutch apple. We were like, are we doing this? Can we like, can we get 420 and they're like, we won't be ready in time. 4:20 is no go. But we can do that Friday, 4:24. So I was like, perfect, let's fucking book it. Let's do this. Right. So I've just been basically been like busing, you know, calling whoever I can, seeing whoever wants to be a part of this. You know, we were looking for sponsors, we were looking for vendors, you know, and people come hang out and just get high on a boat, you know what I mean? And we were very lucky to get a couple sponsors pretty quick, you know, which was, I was amped about and honestly they gave us some products to, to try out today and I'm looking forward to trying it.
• 3:19
Speaker B: And you have, have the, the goodie bag with you.
• 3:22
Speaker A: I got a little goodie bag here.
• 3:24
Speaker B: So while you, I mean, if you want, like I said, I have, I have my tray.
• 3:27
  Speaker A: Yes.
• 3:28
Speaker B: With the goofy fucking tray that I got.
• 3:31
Speaker A: Listen, listen, I'm not complaining about a tray like this.
• 3:34
Speaker B: You know what I mean? It's level, it's got holders, you can hold, hold, hold your cones when you're done rolling them. But so you know, Canta Cruz, like, not only is it like, you know, obviously getting, getting high in a boat is how you're describing, which is fun, but like a chance to be with like minded 100 people. Because like I want to, you know, and obviously working through Metroland, we kind of have a platform. But like I want to like change the stigma.
• 4:04
  Speaker A: Yes.
• 4:05
Speaker B: And I feel like that's what you want to do 100%.
• 4:07
Speaker A: And I want to connect brands to their consumers.
• 4:11
  Speaker B: Right.
• 4:12
Speaker A: You know what I mean? So in, in a, in a, like a relaxed kind of elite environment, if that makes sense. You know what I mean? And also you're right about the stigma. There is, there's, you know, you can go places and get drunk with your friends. You can, you know, go places, eat
• 4:27
Speaker B: food and it's encouraged and advertised and.
• 4:30
Speaker A: Exactly. But where can I go to hang out with my friends and smoke weed and have a good time?
• 4:36
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 4:37
Speaker A: Outside of my home, you know, like, what am I going to say on the street corner? You know, am I.
• 4:42
Speaker B: And like someone like me, like, I'm, you know, I'm almost, and I don't know if you knew that, but like I'm almost two years without booze. Like, I stopped drinking. Like, and I'm like kind of the same, bro. Not going back. Like, I'm just like. And it was, you know, not like a, I'm not an anti, you know. No, no, I get it, but it just. As I got fucking older, it just kind of stopped. It's not fun for me, you know, I was like, waking up like, this point sucks. Oh, my God. So I was just like, I'm gonna stop.
• 5:11
Speaker A: And I feel worse too. Being like, I'm just gonna have one or two beers at night. It's like. Or it can be like, I'm gonna take like a couple puffs and go about my business and still be coherent for my kids if they wake up, right?
• 5:22
Speaker B: And for me, it, like, actually, like, I feel like it. It helps me motivate and concentrate.
• 5:29
Speaker A: Like, especially depending on the strain, you know, what kind of vibe you're looking for. And I feel that's also kind of a stigma with some people. They're just like, oh, I just want to eat everything when I say, hi, what are you smoking, bro? You know what I mean? Like, oh, I just fall asleep. Well, what are you smoking? I get anxiety. What are you smoking?
• 5:44
Speaker B: Yeah, because people. Whenever people talk about, like, oh, I can't smoke weed because I get the munchies. I'm like, I don't. I don't ever get the quote unquote munchies. Like, I don't ever want to eat more than normal when I smoke ever.
• 5:58
Speaker A: I think it depends for me, you know what I mean? 100%. Like, for instance, I was smoking this strain called ice cream Cake. It's kind of indica dominant. And. And I was like, man, like, I could eat an ice cream cake right now.
• 6:14
Speaker B: But I mean, I'm like that anyway, you know what I mean?
• 6:17
  Speaker A: You're like, I don't need the weed
• 6:19
Speaker B: to, like, I don't need weed. I live live right down the road from King Dairy. I don't know if you know King Dairy?
• 6:24
Speaker A: Yes. Actually, I was driving by at the one of them.
• 6:25
Speaker B: They're one mile away and they have the best fucking ice cream I've ever had in my life. I believe it's. And they use. All right there. Yeah. And they use like, local shit. Like there's a blueberry farm right next door and they make ice cream from the blueberry.
• 6:38
Speaker A: Like, I'm going to make you bring me some.
• 6:40
  Speaker B: I will.
• 6:40
Speaker A: I'm not driving the back.
• 6:41
Speaker B: No, I will. I'll bring you some. Because they do like hand packs and whatever and they do like, you know, 40 different flavors and they're.
• 6:48
  Speaker A: They're fudgeing.
• 6:49
Speaker B: Awesome. But in the summer, it's. It's a week. It's very hard to, like, not Eat like a shitload of ice cream.
• 6:56
Speaker A: I feel that. Let me dive into this too so I can roll something.
• 6:59
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. What are we going to, what are we going to start with? So first of all, I guess who, who are the, the sponsors? The sponsors.
• 7:06
Speaker A: So main sponsors are, you know, it's being presented by Empire Standard and they're kind of an umbrella. And what they're, what we really want to talk about with them is their brand Untitled, their brand Jetpack and then their brand Littles.
• 7:23
  Speaker B: Okay.
• 7:24
Speaker A: Which it's a variety stuff, some pre Rolls, some flower, some, you know, carts and stuff like that. But a lot of their shit is really, really tasty. And our other main sponsor is New York Pharm Company. And what they gave us, what they want people to really kind of connect with is their brands. It is Mini Mart and Grocery, which I think are so cute. And what's interesting is Grocery, you can only buy it by the ounce, which I'm not mad about. You know what I mean? I'm not buying anything less that if I'm buying flour. Flour, I'm buying an ounce minimum, to be honest.
• 8:00
Speaker B: Yeah. If I'm buying, I like to, I like to split it up. Like I would, I would prefer like,
• 8:06
Speaker A: like an eighth and eighth and eighth and eighth.
• 8:07
  Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 8:09
Speaker A: Well then buy four ounces. Buy four ounces. Or if, if I'm feeling like that, I'm gonna get Pre Rolls, you know what I mean? And, but Mini Mart, they do have eighths and so. And actually they hooked us up. They hooked us up with a hybrid eighth of their Mini Mart. What is this? Papaya smoothie.
• 8:32
  Speaker B: Nice.
• 8:33
  Speaker A: That looks cute.
• 8:34
Speaker B: The little, the little bag.
• 8:35
Speaker A: Yeah, the little bag. The little Mini Mars.
• 8:37
  Speaker B: Nice.
• 8:38
Speaker A: And they gave us actually some other cool. From some of their other partner brands which we're not really gonna, you know, some cbg. Oh, Lighter baby, from Boutique. That's one of the other brands. All right, we'll use that today. And just like some other cute little things. And this is a little sample of their grocery cannabis, which I think is what we'll sample today.
• 9:09
  Speaker B: Sure.
• 9:09
Speaker A: What do you think? Pretty good to me. Perfect. There's a couple other goodies in here. But we're just going to focus on how Grocery makes us feel today.
• 9:19
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 9:20
  Speaker A: So let's.
• 9:22
Speaker B: And I'm, I'm even, you know, staying up late. I mean, it's got to be, what, closing in on 11 o'. Clock.
• 9:30
  Speaker A: It's late. It's late.
• 9:31
Speaker B: This is, this is great. It's like that's why I said it's a special episode. I planned for this like all day. I was saying to my wife, I'm like, yeah, around, around three, three o' clock or so I'm probably gonna take. Take a little nap because I have to stay up. I have to stay up late and smoke weed with Kiki.
• 9:50
Speaker A: So get high with my friends. All right.
• 9:53
Speaker B: Hey, she's supportive of that.
• 9:55
  Speaker A: She's perfect.
• 9:56
Speaker B: Yeah, take a nap so you can get high with your friends. Super lame.
• 9:59
Speaker A: Listen, cuz, you don't have kids, right?
• 10:01
Speaker B: No, we do not.
• 10:02
Speaker A: Yeah, that's, that's why she's like, sure, yeah.
• 10:04
Speaker B: She's like, I'm taking the dog and going to bed.
• 10:07
Speaker A: Is there a Keith Catcher in this?
• 10:09
  Speaker B: There is not.
• 10:09
Speaker A: Just know what I'm working with.
• 10:12
Speaker B: Yeah. And which one is this?
• 10:14
Speaker A: This is. It doesn't say, but it's the, it's the grocery brand. It's a hybrid which I'm cool with.
• 10:24
Speaker B: I don't mind a h. What c. What is this? What are these?
• 10:28
Speaker A: That is like. This is cbg. I believe.
• 10:32
  Speaker B: What cbg.
• 10:33
Speaker A: CBG is. Let me break out my little.
• 10:38
Speaker B: See, I'm learning. Learning shit.
• 10:41
Speaker A: CBG is cannabigrol. It's like a non psychoactive minor cannabinoid and basically it's, it's. It's been known to have like probably like more favorable effects than like CBD and it's for like, like if you have like upset stomach or just kind of you know, body soothing properties. Mind soothing, you know, stuff like that. Without the high. Without the high.
• 11:11
  Speaker B: Right.
• 11:11
Speaker A: Really, you know, which is nice for a lot of people, you know who don't.
• 11:16
Speaker B: Not for me personally.
• 11:19
Speaker A: My dude. My dude. If I'm here to get lit, I'm here to get.
• 11:25
  Speaker B: Yeah. Oh yeah.
• 11:28
Speaker A: Let me do this. Sorry. Grinding up the queed.
• 11:33
Speaker B: Yeah, grinding now. So I guess go. We'll go back to like can of cruise stuff like as far as like while. While we're rolling. Rolling the drawing. So are, are they allowed to vend like at the event?
• 11:48
Speaker A: So you can't sell cana on the cruise. But we partnered with stage one dispensary and we are going to do a thing where you can pre order like cuz they do deliveries so you can get a delivery order and they're going to be delivering I believe between like 5 and 5:45.
• 12:09
Speaker B: So like before the cruise you can have weed brought to you.
• 12:12
Speaker A: Exactly. Which is elite if you ask me. I think that's so nice and I
• 12:17
Speaker B: mean I loved how that you know, like when dispensaries are first opening up. How that was a rule. Like, you know, you can't do this, you can't do that. It's like, oh, but you can deliver it. And we'd be like, all right, all right. Yeah, deliver it to me right over there, you know.
• 12:33
Speaker A: Oh, totally, totally. And the thing is too. What's even funnier is like, you know, like, Hochel pass the. I can't even say her last name. She passed the thing. Thing where you can have, like, event stuff, but it's just not like you can't get your event license for like, like private event sale type thing yet. They're still working on the legislation, but that's.
• 13:03
Speaker B: I mean, that's probably. That's got to be where it's. It's moving towards.
• 13:07
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 13:08
Speaker B: Where you can have events where you can have. Have sales.
• 13:11
  Speaker A: Like, totally.
• 13:12
Speaker B: You can. I mean, if you can do that with fucking booze again, you know, why not do it?
• 13:16
Speaker A: Exactly. And. And I wanted to do this legit, you know what I mean? So, like, I talked to ocm, you know, I was like, what? You know, what are the rules? What's the legalities? And even, like, Dutch apple was just like, you know, you can smoke anywhere outside. You can't smoke inside, but you can smoke outside. You got like a nail or something. Little picker, you can tell. You use this.
• 13:42
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 13:45
Speaker A: But, like, so that is, you know, it's. It's pretty much byob. Bring your own bud.
• 13:51
Speaker B: Right. Or hit up stage one and you can get it. And you can get it delivered. Like, you could do it right through their website or their app or whatever. Right. You can just.
• 14:02
Speaker A: And stage one carries. They carry all of our sponsors as well. Yeah.
• 14:09
Speaker B: So you can get all the stuff we're talking about.
• 14:13
Speaker A: All the stuff we're talking about. You can get through stage one, which, you know, they're great over there. There's a lot of incredible dispensaries in this area. You know, we were just talking about the bakery. You know, I just checked out State of Mind's new location in Albany, which is great. There's Dark Horse, there's Brownies. There's like.
• 14:35
Speaker B: Dude, Brownies opened a second location.
• 14:37
  Speaker A: Oh, did they?
• 14:37
Speaker B: Right up here about a mile and a half from where we're sitting right now.
• 14:41
Speaker A: Shit, that's so nice.
• 14:42
Speaker B: It's, like, right around the corner. So fucking nice.
• 14:45
Speaker A: But, like, the. The industry is just, like, incredible right now.
• 14:48
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 14:49
Speaker A: You know, and it's like. And what you can get now, you know, and like, don't get me wrong, a lot of times I still go to my legacy, my legacy guy, you know what I mean? Because like where were you dispensaries when, you know, when I needed you at 22, you know what I mean? Obviously, you know, I'm just busting balls, sure. But you know.
• 15:09
Speaker B: Yeah, I mean I, I went to, you know, to my quote unquote, my guy for. Until very recently, like when it just kind of. He got priced out, you know, like.
• 15:20
Speaker A: Oh, right, right, right.
• 15:22
Speaker B: Like there's so many options around.
• 15:23
Speaker A: That's. That's the tough thing too is that there is, you know, the, that's the hard part about. You can get anything in a dispensary right now.
• 15:31
Speaker B: Yeah. And growing your, you know, like growing your own too.
• 15:35
Speaker A: And luck. I'm very lucky where my legacy person, you can get pretty much what you can get. Like they were already doing dispensary shit before dispensaries were opening. You know, they had like the chips, the sodas, the carts. The carts, the, you know, the resin, the this, the that, you know, so it was like, it was never like truly an issue, you know, to get like what I wanted to get.
• 16:01
Speaker B: Right. And I feel like it, you know, because it was always like dispensary stuff, like legit dispensary stuff, like with the packaging and everything. But it was from another state.
• 16:11
  Speaker A: Yes.
• 16:11
Speaker B: You know, so it was like. It almost feels like maybe that state or that dispensary was getting screwed over in their estate and they're like, got to do it. I can side hustle a little bit if I ship it out to my buddy, you know, so.
• 16:25
Speaker A: And it's just like, you know, like it took them long enough. This industry is like crazy. Yeah, you know, it's very profitable, very lucrative for, you know, people, especially if you got in early stage one, number two in this area that opened up 11th in the state, you know, out of I don't know how many there
• 16:47
Speaker B: are now, I think there's something like 400.
• 16:51
Speaker A: And that's wild to think about. And in our area alone, there's like 70 or something. We just put the can of guy
• 16:57
Speaker B: down in this town in Schuylerville, like this small ass town. There's two of them. You know, it's crazy. And yeah, like. And they're two miles away from each other and they're both within, you know, we're out in Skylerville.
• 17:10
  Speaker A: That's wild to.
• 17:11
Speaker B: Yeah, but I love it. I love it.
• 17:14
  Speaker A: Of course.
• 17:14
Speaker B: And I'd Love to be able to just be like, you know, like Friday night, like hanging out and to just be like, I'm gonna go grab a joint, right? And just be like, I'll be back in 10 minutes. Yeah, I'm just gonna run down, grab something fucking dope and come back.
• 17:29
Speaker A: Cuz, you know, like, I remember like buying, you know, before I started getting from this person that I had been getting from, and it was just like, all right, I'm free tomorrow. Between whatever, whatever, whatever.
• 17:43
Speaker B: Or sometimes it might even be like, I don't have anything.
• 17:47
  Speaker A: I'm out.
• 17:48
Speaker B: I don't have anything until next week or whatever. And I mean, I'm thinking about it. I'm 52 years old, so like, I was buying weed literally in the 80s when it would be like, you'd have to plan for, you know, a fucking week ahead if we were having like a party, you know, you'd have to be like, all right, I'm gonna talk to my guy because there's a party in 10 days that we might. Might need some weed.
• 18:12
Speaker A: And also, like, like, you didn't have the options.
• 18:17
  Speaker B: No options.
• 18:18
Speaker A: It was literally. It was like swag. It was. Or just basically like dirt, you know, like, it was mids.
• 18:26
Speaker B: I remember, like, sifting through the seed, you know.
• 18:28
  Speaker A: Yes.
• 18:28
Speaker B: Busting out the bud and just like being like, oh, there's more seed than. And there was never any, like, obviously no quality control. And there was certainly no, like, nah, I'm good, I'm good, you know, I'll pass on this, you know, because that's all you got. It's the only choice, you know, you had.
• 18:46
Speaker A: Like, truly, that was all you had.
• 18:48
Speaker B: Yeah. So I love the. Just going in, you know, Like, I was, I was at the bakery today and like, look, just looking on the shelves and just like, I just got this, like, look at how many different options there is. Like, it's so fucking crazy.
• 19:05
Speaker A: Yeah. And it's like, it's, it's. It's just crazy, you know, and it's just like, especially having. Starting to put together this, this cruise and looking for sponsors and just like seeing all the brands and talking to all these people and you know, you. You start seeing like, like how many of them are just like insanely huge and how many of them are like, just starting out, like micro brands or
• 19:36
Speaker B: something like that, and how there's room kind of room for. For everybody, like how a micro brand can stand out and, you know, fit in and, you know, because it's a lot about the, the quality, you Got an Astro? Yeah, right here. Oh, fancy, fancy.
• 19:57
Speaker A: No, truly do. I think sometimes the dispensary market is about to be oversaturated. Sometimes I think it's.
• 20:06
Speaker B: But I feel like that could be a good thing because I think.
• 20:10
Speaker A: I think the people that were. Have been here for the past three years are gonna be fine. But I think sometimes the people that are just kind of getting their lives together and that have been waiting to get their permits, because that's another thing that we really wanted to make sure with this cruise. It was legal, a legal brand, a legal dispensary. Not just, you know, because we wanted to make sure it was. It was legit. I want to make sure these events are legit, you know, because as soon
• 20:43
Speaker B: as one isn't, you know, then. Then everything goes sideways.
• 20:49
Speaker A: Yeah, legit, because then it's like OCM is involved or, you know, stuff like that. And I want to. This tastes pretty good.
• 20:58
Speaker B: And this is what you said, one of the grocery. Yeah. See you, roll. Great joints.
• 21:07
  Speaker A: Thank you.
• 21:07
Speaker B: I wrote terrible joints, dude, because I
• 21:09
Speaker A: was a blunt girl for so long. Blunt girl for like mad long, bro. And then I stopped smoking, like, how I normally smoke, and now I'm a joint girl. I smoke like half a joint at night, call it a day, call it a night, you know, and go from there. Oh, God, I love smoking weed.
• 21:34
  Speaker B: Me too.
• 21:35
Speaker A: I remember people like, you're addicted. I'm like, no, I just fucking like it. Like, I like it. I don't need it. I proven right now I don't need to smoke all day. I don't need to smoke every day.
• 21:47
  Speaker B: Right?
• 21:48
Speaker A: God, do I want to.
• 21:49
Speaker B: God, do I like it? See, I. I do, you know, like, yeah, I smoke every day, you know, all day, every day. And like, you know, for me, it's. It's really like I. I want to, like, get rid of the stigma, like I said, of like the stoner that just smokes weed and does nothing. You know what I mean? Like, he just watches cartoons and productive as me too. Absolutely, absolutely.
• 22:18
Speaker A: The ADHD kicks in. That's a lot of times why I smoke. And I noticed that since I stopped smoking, it's been way more intense, you know, just like, can't get my life together, but really just trying to. And as with adhd, the hyper focus right now is this can of cruise, you know what I mean? And it's just like, I was like, I have to do it, gotta get it done. It's gonna be sick. I went on one a couple years ago, but I But it was kind of like, it was real fun. I think was put on by Caesar Entertainment and the Laundromat and some other folks, I think maybe Birdhouse, I don't remember. But it was fun. It was so fun. E Block was there. Capital City Crooks were performing, you know, so. And it was a good time. It was so fun being just on a, on a boat.
• 23:09
Speaker B: And for this one. And there's entertainment right there is DJ Harlan. Okay.
• 23:15
Speaker A: Is who's gonna be, you know, spend. He spends only vinyl. So I was like I need somebody that can really set the mood, you know, for a two hour cruise. And actually also I didn't say like anything like pricing for the cruise. Oh yeah, I know. And honestly it's pretty cheap. 30 bucks or 4 for 100 bucks, which get three of your buddies together, pay 25 bucks on a cruise for two hours, bring some weed, BYOB BYO bud.
• 23:50
Speaker B: And you know, and just like, you know, any, any event like this, it's not like you're going to have your own weed and stand off in the corner by yourself.
• 23:57
Speaker A: No, everybody's going to be like, yo,
• 23:59
Speaker B: you're going to be sharing it, passing around.
• 24:01
Speaker A: At least that's what I hope. And this is kind of like what we were talking about, like building community around cannabis.
• 24:08
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 24:08
Speaker A: You know what I mean? Because I miss smoking weed with people, you know, like, like sometimes I smoke with my wife, but she's been pregnant or you know, feeding a baby or you know what I mean? Like she can't really. And I want to, you know, or like I'll smoke with my neighbor, like whatever. But it's not, it's almost put that in the fucking weed. But it's not like, it's not like how I used to.
• 24:35
  Speaker B: Right.
• 24:35
Speaker A: You know, and I get it, life changes, but that's why I want to kind of put these events on, you know. And actually we just talked to Shane from Ophelias and we're gonna kind of end the night there. They got a little DJ night going on there. And he told me anybody from the cruise, you don't have to pay to get in. And they're gonna have the kitchen open late. So I feel like you spent two hours getting a little high. You're gonna want a little, right? A little niblet.
• 25:05
  Speaker B: Sure. Right.
• 25:06
Speaker A: A little, you know, a little bite, little snackette, you know, a little something.
• 25:11
Speaker B: And so where does it take off from? Because like I know Broadway, that port.
• 25:16
Speaker A: Right, Right where the like USS Slater area. I'm good on this after, right?
• 25:24
Speaker B: And it's. You said it's a two hour.
• 25:26
Speaker A: It's a two hour cruise from 6 to 8. We leave 6 sharp, get back 8ish.
• 25:32
Speaker B: You know, I'm sure they're probably pretty, pretty fucking used to running the schedule, you know what I mean?
• 25:37
  Speaker A: They're like, here's the.
• 25:38
Speaker B: They're not gonna be smoking weed. No, no, no, they're not.
• 25:41
Speaker A: They're not at all. I want to put like a camera on the front, do a little time lapse, like a little GoPro. I wonder how that'll do. But, but like six to eight, which I think is like definitely like a primo little spot. You can meet some new people, talk to like, you know, some of the brands that are going to be there and just like learn about their product, learn about cannabis a little bit and just, you know, make a new friend.
• 26:10
  Speaker B: Right.
• 26:11
Speaker A: You know, how often do you make new friends as an adult?
• 26:15
Speaker B: It's harder. It's so fucking hard. Like, it's hard. And I'm actually like kind of at that point and like, especially, you know, not to go back to like the not drinking. But like, since I stopped drinking, like, I'm not, I'm not only. I'm not only not making new friends. Like, I'm not hanging out with a lot of fucking people that I used to hang out with because like, you know, dude, like, I'm fucking boring. And like, you're not boring.
• 26:40
Speaker A: You're just choosing. It's just. Here's the thing, here's the thing. With alcohol, it's hard to be. I think it's easier to be around stone people when you're not high than it is to be around drunk people when you're sober as.
• 26:54
  Speaker B: And it's nothing.
• 26:56
  Speaker A: Drunk people.
• 26:57
Speaker B: Correct. And it's almost harder for me because like, I, you know, now that weed is legal and I mean, I never cared. I would smoke weed wherever. I didn't care. But like, if I'm like out, you know, at a bar and like I'm outside and like I get high and then come in, like the getting high, the getting high almost makes me withdraw or you know, withdraw more, you know, cuz like you smoking, right? That's, that's true.
• 27:23
Speaker A: What are you smoking?
• 27:24
Speaker B: But like, I don't know, like, you know, when I would drink, I would just get so animated and want to talk and want to like be like loud and joke.
• 27:35
Speaker A: Different effects. You know, Alcohol makes you a little bit louder. Weed can make you a little bit more subdued.
• 27:40
Speaker B: Yeah. And it's not like I'm, like, having a bad time, but I'm just a little more. Maybe not. Maybe withdrawn isn't the right word, but, like, introspective. You know what I mean? I'm less.
• 27:51
  Speaker A: You're not laughing at a. I'm thinking
• 27:54
Speaker B: about what I say before I say it.
• 27:56
Speaker A: Want to talk about something, Right?
• 27:58
Speaker B: Yeah. Like, whereas when I'm drunk. Well, you know, when I would be drunk, I would just say things, you know?
• 28:06
  Speaker A: I do know.
• 28:07
Speaker B: Believe you me, I would say things, and then I might be like, oh, I really, really probably shouldn't have said that. Whereas when I'm high, I'm more apt to be like, I think something, and then, like, should I say it? Nah, probably.
• 28:19
Speaker A: Right, Right, right, right, right.
• 28:21
Speaker B: I'm giving that to myself.
• 28:23
Speaker A: I wish one day I would develop a filter like that.
• 28:26
Speaker B: Yeah, I know. Getting getting older is. Makes it easier to not give a fuck and to not. To not only. Not to not give a fuck. Like, in a bad way.
• 28:37
  Speaker A: Right.
• 28:37
Speaker B: Like in a good way. Like, I don't. Like, I can't even tell you how much my caring about what other people think has. But it's held me back historically, you know, have not done things because I'm worried about what somebody else might fucking think. And now that I'm older, I'm like, I don't. I don't. I don't care. I don't care what anybody else thinks.
• 28:59
  Speaker A: Right.
• 28:59
Speaker B: So. So I'm gonna do that thing that some people are gonna think is super silly and ridiculous, and it might be, but I want to do it. So go yourself.
• 29:08
Speaker A: It's just like, growing older. It's just like, I don't give a. Yeah. You know, but what I do give a. About is this can of cruise.
• 29:16
Speaker B: Yeah, let's go back to the can. Go back to the can and are.
• 29:20
Speaker A: This is a good high. I like it.
• 29:21
  Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah.
• 29:22
Speaker A: I. I'm going to ask my dude what strain this was. If he was awake right now. I would.
• 29:28
  Speaker B: Right.
• 29:29
Speaker A: Yeah. But I'm going to be like, dude, what was in that little. That grocery? It's a pretty good vibe.
• 29:34
Speaker B: It is nice. And I love that it was like, sample, because, you know, samples are like.
• 29:38
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 29:39
Speaker B: Like, not the. The dealer stuff, but, like, it's not that the consumer isn't getting, like, the little samples.
• 29:49
Speaker A: Yeah, right, right, right. No.
• 29:51
Speaker B: Feel a little privileged, you know?
• 29:53
Speaker A: And literally, he was just like, I can't believe we haven't smoked before, like, together. Because I was like, fuck, dude. But, like, you know, here's also the thing with cannabis that is such a stigma. You can't just be like, yo, you smoke, right? You know, I mean, like, oh, you want to grab a drink? You know, it's harder to be like, yo, you want to smoke sometime? You know what I mean? Because it's like, you know, it's that you're always nervous and it's still sometimes like.
• 30:19
Speaker B: And even just like it's been legal for so long. And like, I told you that like, I had a cop come to my house today and it was like, because some jackass had hit a utility pole and he was just like kind of shooting in the dark, that like, I might have caught it on my ring cam, which I didn't. But like, you know, when I'm like standing at the stove making dinner and like, you know, there was literally a joint burning in the ash right, right next to me and I hear my doorbell and I look over and see a fucking cop.
• 30:49
Speaker A: But like, aren't you still kind of nervous?
• 30:51
Speaker B: I was fucking so nervous, you know? And the reality of it is is I'm just a homeowner and I have nothing. I don't do anything illegal at all.
• 30:59
Speaker A: Yeah, you're like, you're like, frankly, I haven't left my house in about five days. Okay? I left to go get this joint
• 31:05
Speaker B: and I was like, like talking to him. Like I was in my head, I'm like, man, this guy just gotta think that I'm like doing something right, you know? And I'm just like, I'm too high to be talking to a cop at my house. Just like out of nowhere. And again, my wife, like immediately after, just to. Was there just a cop at our house?
• 31:28
Speaker A: Was there a police officer at our residence?
• 31:31
Speaker B: Yeah, had nothing to do with me, baby.
• 31:33
Speaker A: It was some jackass, Lou's brother on my property.
• 31:38
Speaker B: It was wild. Like, again, the stigma of it and I'm just like, I'm a 50 something year old fucking homeowner. And I'm still nervous to see this
• 31:48
Speaker A: because this is still so recent and still so new that you don't, you don't, like, you're not there yet.
• 31:57
Speaker B: When we were at.
• 31:59
Speaker A: So real quick, when did you start smoking?
• 32:02
  Speaker B: 1989.
• 32:04
Speaker A: Okay, 89. How old were you then?
• 32:06
  Speaker B: 16.
• 32:07
Speaker A: So 16, right? And you said you're how old?
• 32:10
  Speaker B: 52.
• 32:10
Speaker A: And let's say weed's been legal three years. Four years.
• 32:14
Speaker B: Yeah, three, four years.
• 32:15
Speaker A: So you said 52.
• 32:17
Speaker B: Oh, you're doing math.
• 32:18
Speaker A: 48 minus 6. 16 is what, 32. So 32 years of being nervous, of being high out in public, of being scared. That's ptsd, bro.
• 32:32
Speaker B: It was funny because, like, it's not
• 32:33
Speaker A: like three years you smoked and you're like, oh, now, you know what I mean?
• 32:36
Speaker B: At the. That, like, one day of peace at Lost and Found, like, whatever, you know? And I don't care who knows that I smoke, but I was outside, me and James, and I was getting ready to hit a ball, and fucking Aaron walked around the corner and I literally, like, froze.
• 32:57
Speaker A: Isn't that so funny? Like, you got caught.
• 32:59
  Speaker B: Yeah, totally.
• 33:00
  Speaker A: You got caught.
• 33:01
Speaker B: 100. And she saw all over my face because I, like, you know, I froze and, like, it was like my mom catching me or something. And I'm like, I'm fucking older than Erin.
• 33:13
Speaker A: Oh, yeah. So fuck you, bitch.
• 33:15
Speaker B: I'm, like, five years older than her. And it literally felt like. Like I got caught. And she was just like, just keep it away from me. Yeah, of course.
• 33:25
  Speaker A: Like, no. Yeah.
• 33:28
Speaker B: It's that fucking stigma.
• 33:30
Speaker A: It is. It is such a stigma. And, you know, that's what I really want to push is less stigma.
• 33:37
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 33:37
Speaker A: More events, more. You know, I had even thought about, like, I don't know if this is even happening locally, like, a smokers club where it's like. Where it's like, you pay this amount of money each month, and then we curate something from each dispensary.
• 33:52
Speaker B: That would be fucking cool.
• 33:54
  Speaker A: Right?
• 33:54
Speaker B: So everybody could, like, even present their. You know, almost like a songwriter circle where you, like, present your fucking joint or your strain and you pass around and you talk about it and.
• 34:05
Speaker A: Right. You know what I mean? Where it's like, you know, or even it's like. But to just get a community going, you know, not just, like, getting high under the bridge, you know, not like, you know. You know, like you said, just kind of like going chilling, you know, you. You pay a certain amount, you. You get a curated whatever, you know, and it could even be something where it's like, you say you can have, like, two versions, one for less anxious people. You know what I mean? Like, so, you know, nothing crazy is there?
• 34:42
Speaker B: Like, because I've heard of some dispensaries and I don't know if actually happened, but like a smoking room. Like a place where you can. Because I. I don't know. I thought, like, the place in Troy, 400 River. I. I know they had. I mean, because Allison has been on. Been on the program a couple times. Yeah, I know they were talking about it. I don't know if it Ever happened. Or like, if, like, rules change, you know, like a lot. Yeah. Dude, you want to talk about how cool they are? We did a 420 show at no Fun.
• 35:18
Speaker A: Wait, was I there? No. What did I do?
• 35:20
Speaker B: I don't know. It was a couple years ago because 400 river was opening that one.
• 35:24
  Speaker A: Right, right, right.
• 35:26
Speaker B: And so I invited them, you know, to come to the show or whatever, you know, they obviously couldn't sell anything, but they could promote the business and give out samples. They threw out. And I'm like, no joke. A hundred plus joints, like, they gave them to fucking everybody. And at one point, you know what that is? We were standing outside and there was, you know, probably 40 or 50 people and probably 30 joints going around. It was just like. It was.
• 35:54
Speaker A: But that's what I'm saying. And obviously shit like Covid made people really nervous.
• 35:58
  Speaker B: Right.
• 35:58
Speaker A: It's like, say you do the smokers club and you like this month or there's like always a pre roll in it. There's always pre rolls in it. And it's the same thing. So you're all smoking the same thing
• 36:08
Speaker B: if you want or get one of those little glass things to put the doobie into or whatever. But. Yeah, if you're a germaphobe. But, you know, but I love that idea of like everybody smoking the same thing and kind of getting like.
• 36:22
Speaker A: And just kind of talk feel for it, you know, and just like. Like, I don't know. That's just. I haven't done that in a very long time, you know, but something that would have to be summertime unless somebody actually, you know. Because you could do it in a place where it has patio. But I'm like, does the patio have to be not enclosed? What are the rules? There's so many rules.
• 36:43
Speaker B: There has. There has to be. Or I feel like there is a. A space for like a smoker's lounge, you know, I mean, cigars have them. Like, cigar shops have indoor, you know. Yeah. And it's like, you're coming. If you're coming here, you're gonna have. We're smoking inside.
• 37:04
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 37:04
Speaker B: Just know that type of thing. Yeah. And they have the smoke eaters and whatever. Man, that'd be so cool. But I love the idea of like a club.
• 37:12
Speaker A: Right. It's kind of like, you know how people. Like a book club.
• 37:16
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 37:16
Speaker A: But with weed. Or it could even. It could even be like, not that serious. Where you all just, you know, you link up with a dispensary and they give you 20% off this specific brand or this specific strain. And so you can go to any dispensary it doesn't like because you can't ship it. And you, you know, get all the, you know, buy it at your local dispensary, you know, and you each get 10% off. And that's what you smoke that month and you link up, you know, I love it.
• 37:44
Speaker B: So I think we should, like, kind of wrap it up a little bit. But we should definitely go over all the details of the can of cruise one more time. And I will. In the show notes. And when is it? It's the 24th, April 24th. I mean, I'll probably. I'll put this episode together and kind of release it without worrying about when so that there's plenty of time. And I'll put the. There's like an Eventbrite link for the ticket Summer soon.
• 38:14
Speaker A: Yes, there's an Eventbrite. So actually I'm in the middle of getting the link situated on the website. So there's an event break. We got a Facebook event about to pop up, you know, so people know, invite your friends.
• 38:26
  Speaker B: Cool.
• 38:28
Speaker A: But I think it's gonna be a good time. Yeah, I think it's gonna be a vibe also, like, prepare for weather. You never know what it's like that time of year on a boat.
• 38:38
Speaker B: That's true. But that's, you know, but.
• 38:41
Speaker A: But 30 bucks a ticket, you know, four for a hundred. Sponsored, you know, a couple different brands are going to be there, hanging it.
• 38:51
Speaker B: And they're coming. Like they're gonna have representatives.
• 38:54
  Speaker A: Yes.
• 38:54
Speaker B: Coming. And they'll be able to talk about the product.
• 38:57
Speaker A: Talking about the product, you know, and hopefully, you know, you'll see a friend there. You'll make a friend there.
• 39:03
  Speaker B: I'll be there.
• 39:04
  Speaker A: Yeah, perfect. I'll be there. And our Instagram is at the Canacruise spelled T H E C A N N A C R U I S E. None of this, like cruise. Yeah.
• 39:20
Speaker B: You know what I mean?
• 39:22
Speaker A: But we're really excited. It is, you know, Little's Untitled Jetpack. It is Mini Mart. It is Grocery. It is Metroland. It is Ophelia's at for the afters, you know, and just. It'll be a good time.
• 39:42
Speaker B: Yeah. All right, so cool. Well, click on the. The link in the show notes and get your tickets for the can of cruise April 24th. So, Kiki, I want to thank you so much for doing this. And. And after we're done.
• 39:55
Speaker A: Wait, wait. It is stage one. Can't forget those.
• 39:58
Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Did you not stage one?
• 40:00
  Speaker A: I don't think I did.
• 40:01
  Speaker B: Maybe it didn't.
• 40:02
  Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
• 40:03
  Speaker B: See, that's the.
• 40:04
Speaker A: You know, you hate me if we did that again.
• 40:07
Speaker B: No, no, no, no. We can do. We can just.
• 40:08
Speaker A: Because I don't want to, like, they're one of like the main sponsors.
• 40:10
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 40:12
Speaker A: But it's gonna be a good time. It is, you know, with a lot of cool people. It is. With Littles, with Untitled, with Jetpack, with Mini Mart, with Grocery, with Metroland Now. And can't forget stage one because it's byob. Put your orders in for that night. They're going to bring them right there
• 40:33
Speaker B: to you and they'll bring right to like the parking lot so that you
• 40:37
Speaker A: can grab if that's where you want your delivery, you know.
• 40:40
  Speaker B: That's awesome.
• 40:41
Speaker A: That's where the delivery is going to be. I love it, you know. So at the can of Cruise, there'll be info on the metrolandnow.com and link in the show notes.
• 40:52
Speaker B: So I will definitely link in the show.
