- 0:04Speaker 2: Wha that Welcome to Monday Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 0:07Speaker 2: It is ninety seven point one watch FM Chili on vacation.
- 0:11Speaker 2: She's in Ocean City, Maryland today. So Katie Harris, welcome back.
- 0:16Speaker 2: How are you today?
- 0:18Speaker 3: I am so happy? Did I tell you I'm a
- 0:20Speaker 3: duck Obama?
- 0:20Speaker 4: Now I heard about that? Is that? What's bringing you
- 0:23Speaker 4: some joy this morning?
- 0:24Speaker 5: Yes?
- 0:24Speaker 4: You know what.
- 0:25Speaker 5: It brings me joy every morning. Every morning I typically
- 0:27Speaker 5: wake up and I look at my ducks.
- 0:29Speaker 3: But now I have a baby duck, only one. But
- 0:32Speaker 3: I'm sorry. That little baby duck is so cute. It
- 0:34Speaker 3: just makes my day.
- 0:35Speaker 4: What's the duckling's name? Have you named it?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Uh?
- 0:38Speaker 3: You know what?
- 0:38Speaker 5: I have not named the duck yet, but I am
- 0:40Speaker 5: contemplating because I got to figure out if it's male
- 0:42Speaker 5: or female. I'm thinking about naming the duck Duchy, Dutchy
- 0:46Speaker 5: the duck.
- 0:47Speaker 2: That's a great name. But how does one figure out
- 0:50Speaker 2: if it's male or female? But I guess Duchy could
- 0:52Speaker 2: go both ways, right, kind of like Tony.
- 0:54Speaker 3: That's true. Never I didn't think about that.
- 0:57Speaker 2: It's so yeah, listening this morning, Please tell us how
- 1:00Speaker 2: Kat Harris can figure out the sex of a baby duckling.
- 1:03Speaker 3: That would be interesting.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I have no idea me neither, and knowing might be
- 1:08Speaker 2: half the battle, but I don't know what I would
- 1:10Speaker 2: do with that knowledge. Look at ducks like around the
- 1:12Speaker 2: reflecting pool or whatever. When they get that thing fixed,
- 1:14Speaker 2: finally be like, Okay, that's a male.
- 1:16Speaker 4: How do you know?
- 1:17Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:17Speaker 2: Well, mom isn't looking too much. I'm feeling good because
- 1:23Speaker 2: you're here. And you know, I'm feeling good today because Kat,
- 1:26Speaker 2: you left me a note last time we were together,
- 1:28Speaker 2: and it meant a lot to me for you to
- 1:30Speaker 2: say what you said. I'll keep the contents between us
- 1:34Speaker 2: because I think that's important. But you know what, the
- 1:35Speaker 2: feelings are mutual, and I am always always thrilled, happy
- 1:41Speaker 2: and excited to work with you because I feel like
- 1:43Speaker 2: you know, when we get together, we just NonStop have fun,
- 1:47Speaker 2: get ridiculous, talk about the sex of baby ducklings, and
- 1:51Speaker 2: we just go off from there.
- 1:52Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:55Speaker 4: I love it.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Thank you so much, and I hope to the baby heyesus.
- 1:58Speaker 2: If you're listening to us right now, you've got some
- 2:00Speaker 2: reason to feel good that you could call us and

- 5:11Speaker 4: Keep this in mind.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Before confidence shows up, courage usually has to arrive first.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Courage is your decision to try. Yeah, you might fail,

- 5:34Speaker 2: to share it with somebody, you can find it Toby
- 5:36Speaker 2: and Chilipage WASHFM dot com. It's also on our Facebook,
- 5:39Speaker 2: our Instagram and more.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Stay right there.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Because coming up with Toby and Chilly in the morning, Katie,
- 5:44Speaker 2: you wanted to bring up what now? Uh?
- 5:47Speaker 5: Well, today is a very important day because it kicks
- 5:50Speaker 5: off this one thing we'll discuss.
- 5:53Speaker 4: If you see.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Chilly down in Ocean City at some point in time
- 5:56Speaker 2: this week, should you make your way down there? Could
- 5:57Speaker 2: you ask you to bring us back some fudge and
- 5:59Speaker 2: some of that popcorn that they have down there, because
- 6:01Speaker 2: it's so good Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's
- 6:03Speaker 2: ninety seven point one wash FM. Chili is on vacation.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Kat Harris is in Our producer Crash has joined us.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Because Kat, what did you want to bring up to
- 6:11Speaker 2: the class this early morning?
- 6:13Speaker 5: Well, this is the beginning of Shark Week and I
- 6:15Speaker 5: love Shark week. Can It had me thinking, what would
- 6:18Speaker 5: you do if you encountered a shark crash?
- 6:22Speaker 4: Do you want to take that?
- 6:23Speaker 2: Would this be like in the water with the shark
- 6:26Speaker 2: in it up close or seeing it from a distance.
- 6:28Speaker 5: I would say if you're swimming and you see a shark.
- 6:31Speaker 5: What's the first thing that you would do?
- 6:32Speaker 4: Panic?
- 6:35Speaker 3: Of course.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Oh you know that movie Jaws. It's sunk in a
- 6:38Speaker 2: little bit like the shark's teeth. Kat What would you
- 6:42Speaker 2: do with the shark? I've always been told. Now, first off,
- 6:44Speaker 2: I would just panic and start swimming away.
- 6:47Speaker 5: But if the shark came close to me, I have
- 6:50Speaker 5: always heard not sure if it's true that you take
- 6:52Speaker 5: your fist and you punch the shark in the nose
- 6:55Speaker 5: and that stuns the shark and then you can get away.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I think you've been to the Aquarium and Baltimore and
- 7:00Speaker 2: they fed you a line of hooey. If you're gonna
- 7:02Speaker 2: punch a shark in the nose, number one, you're too
- 7:04Speaker 2: close to it. Number two. That's assuming it's like a
- 7:07Speaker 2: great white. Punching the nose is just gonna piss the
- 7:10Speaker 2: shark off.
- 7:10Speaker 5: If you ask me, I'm telling you somebody's gonna call
- 7:15Speaker 5: and verify what I'm saying.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Punch the shark in the face, feel free to do so.
- 7:20Speaker 2: At eighty six six nine two seven forty three sixty one. See,
- 7:23Speaker 2: I have a different view of sharks because when I
- 7:25Speaker 2: was a kid. I actually caught a hammerhead shark while
- 7:28Speaker 2: I was fishing with my dad in the Gulf of Mexico.
- 7:30Speaker 4: It wasn't big.
- 7:31Speaker 2: It was a baby hammerhead, and that's probably why I
- 7:33Speaker 2: wasn't really afraid of it. But then I you know,
- 7:35Speaker 2: I went home and I got the World Book Encyclopedia
- 7:37Speaker 2: out that tells you how old I am, and I
- 7:39Speaker 2: went and I read all about it, and I found
- 7:41Speaker 2: that these sharks are quite docile. They don't really want
- 7:43Speaker 2: to attack me, like the shark in Jaws.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Sharks are, from what I understand, nice animals. They just
- 7:49Speaker 3: ocasually white people.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you know when you get up into their space,
- 7:52Speaker 2: you wear that certain color of bathing suit, and they're hungry.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I mean, it is what it is. I mean, sharks
- 7:57Speaker 2: go sharks. We are infringing on their space in the water.
- 8:01Speaker 2: How would we like it if somebody else infringed on
- 8:04Speaker 2: our space?
- 8:04Speaker 4: Right?
- 8:05Speaker 3: Are you guys ready for this? Because this is really
- 8:07Speaker 3: why I brought up Shark Week. Are you ready? Baby shark, baby.

- 8:43Speaker 5: like It's Hot.

- 8:47Speaker 2: If you need tickets, and you do get them while
- 8:49Speaker 2: you still have time.

- 10:00Speaker 5: eleven am on Saturday morning in the parking lot on
- 10:03Speaker 5: Main Street. Investigators say an elderly driver pressed the gas
- 10:06Speaker 5: pedal instead of the break. New Harvard's studies suggests that
- 10:09Speaker 5: weight loss drugs like ozembic and wagov may be changing
- 10:14Speaker 5: more than wastelines. Researchers found that women who started taking

- 10:42Speaker 2: You get top stories at the top of the hour
- 10:44Speaker 2: coming up in just a few minutes. She's from Sterling.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Sarah would like to pick our brains Kat Harris on
- 10:51Speaker 2: why she broke up with her boyfriend.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Do taell.
- 10:55Speaker 2: She has a reason. She wants to lay it on us.
- 10:57Speaker 2: She wants to know if we think she overreacts. Did
- 11:00Speaker 2: Sarah stay right there, because here we come. Sarah from
- 11:04Speaker 2: Sterling has been hanging on the line for a few
- 11:06Speaker 2: here with Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety
- 11:08Speaker 2: seven point one. Watch FM Kat. You're in for the
- 11:10Speaker 2: vacationing Chiliamar this week. So tell us what does Sarah
- 11:14Speaker 2: have on her mind?
- 11:15Speaker 5: Well, she thinks she overreacted to her boyfriend doing something
- 11:21Speaker 5: nice for her.
- 11:22Speaker 4: M Well, Sarah, good morning, Thanks for hanging on the line.
- 11:25Speaker 4: So tell us your story.
- 11:26Speaker 6: Yes, I'm wondering if I overreacted because my boyfriend and
- 11:30Speaker 6: I we were going on vacation and I guess he
- 11:33Speaker 6: was trying to be sweet. He bought me a swimsuit
- 11:35Speaker 6: and then when I looked at it, I realized it
- 11:38Speaker 6: was a plus size swimsuit and I just like, totally
- 11:42Speaker 6: went off on him, like just blew a gasket, went crazy.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Wow, Sarah, Kat, you guys are going to have to
- 11:48Speaker 2: tell me why why would you Why would you go
- 11:51Speaker 2: off like that?
- 11:52Speaker 5: Well, I mean it is kind of insulting when you
- 11:55Speaker 5: get the plus size suit because it makes you think
- 11:58Speaker 5: that maybe he thinks you're bigger than what you are.
- 12:00Speaker 4: I don't know, So, Sarah, what did you do? How
- 12:03Speaker 4: bad did you end it?
- 12:04Speaker 6: Yeah? Like basically like borderline breaking up? Like I mean,
- 12:07Speaker 6: I don't know. I don't know if I overreacted, if
- 12:10Speaker 6: I could make this better, or if he really needs
- 12:13Speaker 6: to apologize and like, you know, make it better himself.
- 12:17Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 12:17Speaker 2: As a guy, all I can say is you got
- 12:19Speaker 2: to give him points for trying, because trying to buy
- 12:22Speaker 2: anything for a woman in your life is not easy.
- 12:24Speaker 5: And I totally agree. I think the gesture was there.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Instead of punishing him for getting you something, just let
- 12:32Speaker 5: him know that next time, just hand over your credit card.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Definitely, Sarah, hang right there. You want to know if
- 12:37Speaker 2: you overreacted. We'll put the question to the class eight
- 12:40Speaker 2: sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one. Who
- 12:43Speaker 2: should apologize?
- 12:44Speaker 5: Here?
- 12:45Speaker 2: What should Sarah do. Was Sarah Wright for going off
- 12:48Speaker 2: or no, not so much at all. Give us a call,
- 12:52Speaker 2: share your thoughts. It's like group therapy, only there's no
- 12:55Speaker 2: copay and it's free and it's covered by all insurances.
- 12:57Speaker 2: We'll try to help Sarah this morning. Can you on
- 13:00Speaker 2: the line for us for a little bit?
- 13:01Speaker 3: Thank you?
- 13:02Speaker 4: All right?
- 13:02Speaker 2: Call us now, tell us your thoughts and we'll get
- 13:05Speaker 2: back to this conversation. I'm sure you have some opinions
- 13:09Speaker 2: and we can't wait to hear them. All right, where
- 13:12Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point one.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Was chef m back with a little group therapy? On
- 13:17Speaker 2: this Monday, we got a call from Sarah, who lives
- 13:20Speaker 2: in Centerville. She feels like she might have overreacted. She
- 13:24Speaker 2: broke up with her boyfriend because the boyfriend bought a
- 13:27Speaker 2: plus size bathing suit. Did she overreact? We shared our
- 13:32Speaker 2: thoughts a few minutes ago, and if you've got some thoughts,
- 13:34Speaker 2: we've got to hear from you at eight sixty six
- 13:36Speaker 2: nineteen seven forty three sixty one, or if it's easier,
- 13:40Speaker 2: and maybe you just prefer it, tap the talkback microphone.
- 13:42Speaker 2: If you're listening to us on your iHeart app right now,
- 13:45Speaker 2: your voice note will come to us right in the studio.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Maryon Centerville.
- 13:49Speaker 3: What do you think, Yeaike, that's a tough one.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Go aside and down. If anything, they can return it
- 13:54Speaker 4: and figure it out. But he really should have thought
- 13:56Speaker 4: that through.
- 13:57Speaker 3: I totally agree. Guys.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Remember this never a good idea to buy intimate clothing
- 14:04Speaker 5: for another woman unless you know her size.
- 14:08Speaker 4: And intimate includes swimwear.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yes, absolutely he should have bought a size down on
- 14:12Speaker 3: the side.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Of facts, you know, and it could it always could
- 14:16Speaker 4: have been worse.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Here's a plus size Babes and subscription to DLP.
- 14:20Speaker 5: One see now that is an example of on my mind,
- 14:25Speaker 5: why would you even go near the GLP that that
- 14:28Speaker 5: bad advice?
- 14:29Speaker 2: Bad, bad, horrible. That's a bad baby bre in College Parks.
- 14:33Speaker 2: You got some advice for Sarah from Sterling.
- 14:36Speaker 6: I think she overreacted because now she doesn't have a
- 14:39Speaker 6: bathing suit, a boyfriend, or a vacation.
- 14:42Speaker 3: It sounds like exactly.
- 14:44Speaker 5: I mean, if somebody's trying to do something nice for you,
- 14:47Speaker 5: no need you bite their head off.
- 14:49Speaker 2: But the one thing I've learned from talking to you
- 14:51Speaker 2: and some of the others we've talked to you this
- 14:53Speaker 2: morning is if a guy is gonna go buy something,
- 14:56Speaker 2: one should not go buying bathing suits or in tims
- 15:00Speaker 2: to tire because you just don't know how sizing works exactly.
- 15:04Speaker 6: He was just taken a gash like he was to
- 15:06Speaker 6: find a new bathing suit.
- 15:07Speaker 3: That's so sweet to me.
- 15:08Speaker 6: I think it's even better that he was like outfitting
- 15:10Speaker 6: her for the VACA and then she came in hot
- 15:13Speaker 6: with like, oh no, that's on my size. You know.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Yeah, she overreacted. She needs to check herself breed.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Thank you for checking in from College Park this morning, Sarah.
- 15:21Speaker 2: It seems like everybody thinks she might overreacted a bit.
- 15:24Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna apologize to her. I'm going to tell
- 15:27Speaker 6: him that I overreacted and I don't know, take him
- 15:29Speaker 6: out the line.
- 15:29Speaker 3: She's trying to do something sweet.
- 15:31Speaker 5: Oh, I would say that is the best thing to do,
- 15:33Speaker 5: because well there's always make.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Up right right And on that note, top stories at
- 15:40Speaker 2: the top of the hour on the way, Thank you
- 15:42Speaker 2: for calling this morning, Sarah.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Good luck with everything.

- 20:28Speaker 2: question right around seven to ten after Toby and Chilli's
- 20:31Speaker 2: Top stories here on ninety seven point one Wash FM,
- 20:34Speaker 2: and next we've got a story that we think might
- 20:36Speaker 2: just make your Monday. It's not just a summer camp, KT,
- 20:41Speaker 2: it's a camp teaching kids in our community how.
- 20:45Speaker 4: To be responsible with money. Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Over there is Kat Harris playing the part of the
- 20:51Speaker 2: vacation in Chili Yamar. It is time now for a
- 20:54Speaker 2: story that we think might just make your Monday, and
- 20:58Speaker 2: it comes to us from Fairfax County. Have you ever
- 21:00Speaker 2: looked at your paycheck and thought, way, wait, where did
- 21:03Speaker 2: all the money go?
- 21:05Speaker 4: Now?
- 21:05Speaker 5: I want you to picture learning that lesson but before
- 21:08Speaker 5: middle school, And.
- 21:09Speaker 2: That's exactly what's happening in Fairfax County KT. Kids at
- 21:13Speaker 2: o Kill Elementary are spending part of their summer at
- 21:15Speaker 2: something called money Camp.
- 21:18Speaker 5: Now you got to think of it as adulting one
- 21:20Speaker 5: oh one, just this time with shorter people. They actually
- 21:23Speaker 5: even apply for jobs, They open bank accounts, earn paychecks,
- 21:27Speaker 5: even start little businesses and solling products.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Oh and then they have to pay taxes on what
- 21:33Speaker 2: they earn. Yeah, for some it's not their favorite part.
- 21:37Speaker 2: We can understand. But welcome to adulthood, buddy.
- 21:40Speaker 5: Now the camp even throws like unexpected expenses their way.
- 21:45Speaker 5: I mean, if you need insurance, you better budget for it. Surprise, Bill,
- 21:48Speaker 5: we hope you saved a little. It's basically teaching these
- 21:51Speaker 5: kids that making money is only half of the equation,
- 21:55Speaker 5: but knowing what to do with it is the other half.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Isn't that the kind of life lesson that we wish
- 22:00Speaker 2: we might have gotten a little bit sooner in life?
- 22:02Speaker 5: Kat Well, today's make your Monday from Fairfax County. This
- 22:07Speaker 5: isn't just about making memories. To me, it's about building confidence.
- 22:11Speaker 5: It's about making kids financially smart before they even get
- 22:15Speaker 5: a real paycheck.
- 22:16Speaker 2: And that's called an investment in summer camp. Good stuff.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Thanks for a great story out of Fairfax County that
- 22:23Speaker 2: really does make our Monday Top Stories.
- 22:25Speaker 4: At the top of the hour.
- 22:26Speaker 2: On the way, Kat, you've been digging into what's going
- 22:28Speaker 2: on while we've been hanging out.
- 22:30Speaker 4: What's working on?
- 22:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm working on a story about some DC teens
- 22:35Speaker 5: in their coach and an incident that happened in Florida.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Right around nine ten. Make sure you're listening tonighty seven
- 22:41Speaker 4: point one watch FM. Hi.
- 22:42Speaker 2: There, We're Toby and Chilly in the morning and here's
- 22:44Speaker 2: why you need to stay closed.
- 22:46Speaker 5: One thousand dollars summertime cash. Picture yourself putting that deposit
- 22:51Speaker 5: in your bank account so that way you could pay
- 22:53Speaker 5: for two gas phillips.
- 22:56Speaker 4: It's not that.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Bad yet yet, good Lord, callon.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Everybody needs extra money. Got it today with us Right

- 23:29Speaker 5: and a new survey finds around eighty percent believe that
- 23:32Speaker 5: the Trump administration has struggled more than expected. About two
- 23:36Speaker 5: and ten respondents of a CBS u Goov poll said
- 23:41Speaker 5: that the war has gone as smoothly as anticipated, while
- 23:45Speaker 5: only four percent believe the administration has had an easier time.
- 23:48Speaker 5: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that he'll be in
- 23:52Speaker 5: New York for the U on General Assembly. Netan Yahoo
- 23:54Speaker 5: made the comment on Fox as New York City Mayor
- 23:57Speaker 5: Zohan Mandami had floated the idea of arresting him. The
- 24:01Speaker 5: Israeli leader says that Mandami is basing his claims on
- 24:06Speaker 5: bogus criminal charges and accuse the mayor of promoting hate
- 24:10Speaker 5: and fear. Five DC area teens and their coach are
- 24:15Speaker 5: facing charges in Florida after being arrested during a youth
- 24:20Speaker 5: baseball trip a rather basketball trip. Investigators say that the
- 24:24Speaker 5: teens stole items from a seven to eleven and Davenport, Florida,
- 24:27Speaker 5: Thursday morning, and then they ran from the store. Their coach,
- 24:31Speaker 5: twenty seven year old mckeeth Carvey of Brian's Road, Maryland,
- 24:35Speaker 5: allegedly lied to the police, who are trying to identify
- 24:37Speaker 5: the teens involved. Four teens from DC, one from Prince
- 24:40Speaker 5: George's County are facing conspiracy, theft, and evidence tampering charges.
- 24:45Speaker 5: The jackpots for the Mega Millions and Powerball lotteries are
- 24:51Speaker 5: getting larger. Saturday's Powerball drawing failed to produce a big winner,
- 24:54Speaker 5: so the estimated six hundred and thirty three.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Million dollars is on the lane line tonight.
- 25:01Speaker 5: Meanwhile, Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot has now jumped to eight
- 25:06Speaker 5: hundred million dollars since no tickets matched all six numbers
- 25:10Speaker 5: on Friday's drawing. Well, if you have travel plans and
- 25:14Speaker 5: a airport safety is on your mind. A news study
- 25:17Speaker 5: says the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is the safest
- 25:22Speaker 5: airport in America. Unfortunately, no airports in the DMV made
- 25:26Speaker 5: that list. Forecast for today, expect sunshine and be where

- 25:37Speaker 4: And that is the news.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Remember you get top stories at the top of the
- 25:40Speaker 2: hour with Toby and Chilly in the morning. Kati Harris,
- 25:42Speaker 2: excellent job playing the part of Chilia Mar as usual.
- 25:46Speaker 2: So you were telling me before the show that today.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Is National Chicken Finger Day.
- 25:52Speaker 2: The day that we all should stop and run to
- 25:55Speaker 2: wherever we get our chicken fingers from and go and
- 25:57Speaker 2: get some and eat them in honor of this special day.
- 26:00Speaker 2: But if God is talking about foods that our kids
- 26:03Speaker 2: love to eat, and maybe foods that you love to

- 26:52Speaker 5: I had two older brothers that would eat it all
- 26:54Speaker 5: before I would get a chance to. So if you
- 26:56Speaker 5: put corn pops in front of me, I'm going to
- 26:57Speaker 5: be eating them.
- 26:58Speaker 2: That's kind of how I am with Bluebell ice cream.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I'm so ridiculous about Bluebell ice cream that I'll order
- 27:03Speaker 2: it in from Texas.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Are you serious?
- 27:05Speaker 4: Yep?
- 27:05Speaker 2: It's just so good and it's a guilty pleasure. And
- 27:08Speaker 2: I never used to be able to get the flavors
- 27:10Speaker 2: I wanted to try as a kid, But now that
