Transcript
- 0:00This is something I pro I probably
- 0:01talked about before here on in this
- 0:03platform, but I want to talk about it
- 0:04again because on on Tuesday at the
- 0:08football coaches convention, the coaches
- 0:11uh unanimously proposed to I guess put
- 0:14it forth to a vote to move the red shirt
- 0:17rule to nine games instead of four.
- 0:22I I don't understand it. Just give
- 0:24players five years to play five years
- 0:27and be done with everything else. No red
- 0:30shirts, no sixth years, no seventh
- 0:33years, no 26 year old guys playing
- 0:36college sports. Just give them five
- 0:38years to play five. And if you have an
- 0:42injury, it's tough luck. It's
- 0:43unfortunate, but that's the world we
- 0:45live in. And for years, people lost
- 0:48injuries, lost years to injuries because
- 0:50they played two 10 minutes too many in a
- 0:53season or or one quarter or in some
- 0:56cases, they played one snap of a game.
- 0:58Um, listen, this is this is getting
- 1:02beyond ridiculous.
- 1:04We do not need people playing six or
- 1:06seven years or eight years of college
- 1:07sports. Five years is enough. Let them
- 1:10play all five years. And if they play
- 1:12every game in five years, that's fine.
- 1:14We're already doing that anyway. But
- 1:16eliminate this four game, nine games, a
- 1:19red shirt, whatever it is. There's no
- 1:21red shirts. You're a fifth year. And
- 1:23start counting by years and start count.
- 1:25stop counting by grades because I'm not
- 1:26sure grades really matter anyway. Um,
- 1:29and just do away with it. So, um,
- 1:32hopefully somebody will come to to some
- 1:34senses. I think I think it's the the
- 1:36right decision, but four games, nine
- 1:38games, whatever it is, just just don't
- 1:40worry about that. Just give them five
- 1:41years to play five and and be done with
- 1:43it. So, we'll see what happens. Uh, go
- 1:45check out Bunkers Auburn downtown. Great
- 1:47atmosphere, sports bar, TVs,
- 1:50entertainment, awesome food. So go check
- 1:51them out downtown Bunkers of Auburn and
- 1:53tell them we sent you.
