- 0:27Speaker 1: good eras Hello, Stu.
- 0:29Speaker 3: I was gonna say something else, but I'm not going
- 0:30Speaker 3: to say it to you because you said you didn't
- 0:32Speaker 3: like it.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Was that Happy birthday?
- 0:35Speaker 5: Yeah, happy birthdays too.
- 0:36Speaker 4: I hate birthday.
- 0:37Speaker 6: Happy birthday to him.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I'm sorry that it's your birthdaysre good good luck. I
- 0:46Speaker 1: hate birthdays really well. I don't hate yours. I hate mine,
- 0:51Speaker 1: especially as I get older. And what I like the
- 0:54Speaker 1: least about him is the amount of text I get
- 0:56Speaker 1: in a single day.
- 0:56Speaker 5: It's like enough, I got way too many.
- 0:58Speaker 7: Yes.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Oh look at that.
- 0:59Speaker 5: It says it right there on my phone. Stu gots
- 1:01Speaker 5: his birthday.
- 1:02Speaker 6: God forbid. People love you and want to show you
- 1:04Speaker 6: some appreciation. Those many messages many, You're right, I.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Just don't like text. I hate them.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I can't turn my notifications off because I don't know
- 1:13Speaker 1: how you prefer voicemail. I have a shameful admission before
- 1:19Speaker 1: we get to the Marlin saving their season and a
- 1:21Speaker 1: name for a college football show and a GAMBLEMANI Jones
- 1:24Speaker 1: and Michael Luk Senior are going to join us. I
- 1:27Speaker 1: haven't felt right all day on my birthday, okay, forty
- 1:31Speaker 1: years old today.
- 1:34Speaker 4: The Big Four?
- 1:35Speaker 3: Oh, is that why you don't feel right? Because that's
- 1:37Speaker 3: not your age.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I feel constricted. I feel like I can't breathe a bit.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I feel like I'm wrapped in saran wrap. And the
- 1:48Speaker 1: reason that is And I can't believe I'm admitting this
- 1:52Speaker 1: on the air, But the shirt I am wearing right now?
- 1:55Speaker 4: How would you describe the shirt I'm wearing right now?
- 1:58Speaker 5: Is he Can you stand up and give me a spin?
- 2:00Speaker 4: Sure?
- 2:02Speaker 6: I would describe it as the shirt that you wear
- 2:04Speaker 6: every day.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it is a it's a light similary like blue
- 2:08Speaker 3: long sleeve hoodie.
- 2:09Speaker 5: It's that wary, it's that really nice texture that I love.
- 2:12Speaker 3: I have a few of those shirts. That shirt I
- 2:14Speaker 3: would describe is that perfectly normal for you?
- 2:17Speaker 4: Well, it's not because I have this shirt. I love
- 2:19Speaker 4: this shirt.
- 2:20Speaker 1: It's Carolina blue, and I have it in just about
- 2:23Speaker 1: every size. I have it an L XCEL and double XCEL.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And so, right before we started the show today, I
- 2:30Speaker 1: had to get to the bottom of why I'm feeling
- 2:32Speaker 1: the way I'm feeling today.
- 2:34Speaker 4: I should be in a better mood. It's my birthday, the.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Big four to zero and so and so what I
- 2:39Speaker 1: realized is I went into the bathroom, I took off
- 2:41Speaker 1: the shirt, I grabbed the l and I got to
- 2:43Speaker 1: tell you, Isy, they are not making largers like they
- 2:46Speaker 1: used to.
- 2:47Speaker 4: I means too.
- 2:48Speaker 5: So you're telling me that you normally wear an excel.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Yes, and this blousey shirt that you're wearing right now
- 2:54Speaker 3: is something that you call tight.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yes, I mean everything's listen coming from you, everything's tight
- 2:59Speaker 1: on you.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Listen.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Anybody walking next to you or seeing you out in
- 3:03Speaker 3: public will not think twice about what you're wearing. They
- 3:06Speaker 3: would not say, man, that guy needs a loser shirt.
- 3:08Speaker 3: It looks perfectly normal on you. Perhaps you are in
- 3:11Speaker 3: the large stage of your life and you just want
- 3:13Speaker 3: to be in the extra large stage.
- 3:15Speaker 6: Yeah, tell But I'm with Stugats here because I was
- 3:17Speaker 6: ordering the new Liverpool jersey for this season and they're
- 3:21Speaker 6: sponsor as Adidas and normally I'm a large. When it
- 3:24Speaker 6: comes to it and I've checked the scale, I'm not
- 3:26Speaker 6: gaining any weight. I don't have anything going on there.
- 3:29Speaker 6: But I had to size up and get an extra
- 3:31Speaker 6: large because when I tried the large on in the store,
- 3:34Speaker 6: it felt like a preshun jersey.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Jerseys don't count, especially for soccer jerseys, like they don't count.
- 3:40Speaker 6: They're night for Europeans.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Yes, and then it's the opposite with basketball jerseys, like
- 3:44Speaker 3: give me a small.
- 3:45Speaker 5: And a basketball jersey and it would look perfectly normal. Yes,
- 3:48Speaker 5: but most people wear oversized basketball jerseys.
- 3:51Speaker 1: You go into a store, Izzy, you do right, and
- 3:53Speaker 1: if you're a medium, you're getting a small.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Correct, you're downsizing girl.
- 3:57Speaker 5: I get the size that fits properly. I have to
- 4:00Speaker 5: try it on. I'll try it on.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Normally I'm a medium and I'll just grab that by default. Yes,
- 4:04Speaker 3: but yeah, if I have to go down.
- 4:06Speaker 5: To size, very rarely up a size, I will.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Mikey A was shaking his head. I don't think he
- 4:10Speaker 1: believes you.
- 4:12Speaker 7: No, I'm just laughing at your largest.
- 4:18Speaker 1: The double XL for you if I'm lucky they're not
- 4:22Speaker 1: making them like they used to. I gotta be honest,
- 4:24Speaker 1: You're definitely right about it.
- 4:26Speaker 4: I do agree with you.
- 4:27Speaker 1: We have a So we'll get to the Marlin saving
- 4:30Speaker 1: their season, which is patently absurd.
- 4:31Speaker 4: In the second in the mix, maybe born out.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Ricardo has been distracted all afternoon here, But we are
- 4:37Speaker 1: trying to come up with a name. We have been
- 4:39Speaker 1: asked here by the great people at iHeart and Fox
- 4:41Speaker 1: Sports Radio to do a college football show this fall,
- 4:45Speaker 1: and I have been asked to do it, and I
- 4:47Speaker 1: am pleased and honored to do it.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I'd like to do it like an episode or like
- 4:50Speaker 3: an entire podcast.
- 4:52Speaker 1: I think a show that's, you know, two days a week,
- 4:55Speaker 1: an entire podcast at least for a season. And me
- 4:58Speaker 1: and Mikey feel we have the right name for it,
- 5:01Speaker 1: just based on our sensibilities, but we're also worried about
- 5:05Speaker 1: corporate and whether or not they're gonna like it, And
- 5:07Speaker 1: so I've asked people to come up with a good
- 5:10Speaker 1: college football name for a good name for a podcast,
- 5:13Speaker 1: a college football podcast, and so you could do that
- 5:16Speaker 1: at Stig got seven ninety on x or call Us
- 5:19Speaker 1: at eight seven to seven ninety nine on Fox. We
- 5:22Speaker 1: only have about ten minutes to take phone calls. I'd
- 5:25Speaker 1: prefer it on social media. But me and Mikey feel
- 5:27Speaker 1: like we have the winning hand and that is College
- 5:30Speaker 1: Lame Day, and we feel like it's a perfect name.
- 5:34Speaker 1: But we also feel like corporate's gonna have an issue
- 5:36Speaker 1: with it.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Yeah, a couple of reasons. The word lame has some issues.
- 5:40Speaker 3: But also, yeah, you're going in self deprecating. I don't
- 5:44Speaker 3: know if that's the way you want to start, right.
- 5:46Speaker 5: Is it gonna be a bad show or is it
- 5:47Speaker 5: going to be a good show. Maybe that's not the
- 5:49Speaker 5: way to go.
- 5:50Speaker 1: It's gonna be a good show. It's gonna be a
- 5:52Speaker 1: fun show. College Lame Day.
- 5:54Speaker 6: Is just on brand, that's all that's Yeah, Tail, So
- 5:57Speaker 6: a couple of names I like that were tossed around
- 6:00Speaker 6: pre show. Stew You, Yeah, I like that. I like
- 6:04Speaker 6: Stu you, especially if we get like a marching band
- 6:07Speaker 6: introm And also I believe this one came from Ricardo.
- 6:11Speaker 6: It's all about the stew.
- 6:12Speaker 1: All, about the stew Yeah, about the stet Yeah, it's
- 6:16Speaker 1: all about and maybe we could get Greg Olsen to
- 6:19Speaker 1: record a song for us.
- 6:21Speaker 3: What makes you think that Greg Olsen, Greg, I think
- 6:29Speaker 3: he's trying to get past that, move past that.
- 6:30Speaker 5: He's much more professional these days.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Yes, three of us, because there was you know, there
- 6:37Speaker 1: were some suggestions sent to.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Me by corporate and I rejected every single one of them.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Really was what was the easiest rejection? What was the
- 6:45Speaker 3: one that you laughed out loud because it was so bad?
- 6:47Speaker 4: Oh God, I gotta think about this. College football.
- 6:55Speaker 7: That's why they make the big bucks.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, So what of the Marlin? You know, well,
- 7:01Speaker 4: Mikey wants to get Stull involved.
- 7:03Speaker 1: So there's been student section, there's been all kinds of
- 7:07Speaker 1: things thrown around.
- 7:08Speaker 4: But college lame Day is I mean, it's goal. It
- 7:11Speaker 4: really is.
- 7:12Speaker 7: See yeah, see we're on Fox, So I like.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Big was gonna say, Big, Wow, you can't go. You
- 7:17Speaker 3: can't go College lame Day because it's a different, different network.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Right Big stuon Kickoff? How do you feel about that?
- 7:26Speaker 4: So close? It's like right there, it's so close. Yeah,
- 7:29Speaker 4: I can't.
- 7:30Speaker 3: I can't combine hard to spell stew with a time
- 7:33Speaker 3: of day, Like it doesn't really meld.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Is he?
- 7:37Speaker 1: One of the great rule changes in my lifetime at
- 7:40Speaker 1: sports has been MLB implementing the wildcard into baseball because
- 7:46Speaker 1: it's it keeps teams who normally would be out of
- 7:49Speaker 1: it at this time of the year. It keeps them
- 7:52Speaker 1: in their fan bases involved.
- 7:53Speaker 4: There are one.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Hundred teams in the American League who can make it
- 7:57Speaker 1: as a third wildcard team right now.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Yeah, even to the wild cards was a good move because, man,
- 8:02Speaker 3: it used to be very rare for teams to even
- 8:05Speaker 3: make the playoffs. And now you make the playoffs, you
- 8:07Speaker 3: play a few games, you feel like you did something
- 8:09Speaker 3: over those one hundred and sixty two.
- 8:11Speaker 6: So I just circled this Marlins game on the calendar
- 8:13Speaker 6: because when the Marlins earned the playoffs in September, we'll
- 8:17Speaker 6: remember today as the turning point of the season. They
- 8:21Speaker 6: came back down six to nothing against the Phillies. They
- 8:24Speaker 6: could have packed it in. Instead, they swept the Phillies.
- 8:28Speaker 6: They get it to six six, Griffin Conon comes in
- 8:31Speaker 6: pinch it to run home run. They cut to the
- 8:33Speaker 6: crowd stew Jeff Conon's going crazy. Ricardo turns to me,
- 8:37Speaker 6: he goes, how can you not be romantic.
- 8:39Speaker 4: About mister Marlin.
- 8:42Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm sure Philly fans wearing too romantic about baseball
- 8:46Speaker 6: in that moment.
- 8:47Speaker 3: This is one of two teams that I can actually
- 8:49Speaker 3: be romantic about with baseball.
- 8:51Speaker 4: It is any of.
- 8:52Speaker 3: The Florida Marlins teams except I would say the previous
- 8:55Speaker 3: six years, seven years to this year. I don't know
- 8:57Speaker 3: what happened, but before that and the eighty six Mets.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Those are the only two teams I can be nostalgic about.
- 9:03Speaker 3: And Griff and co nine being on this team and
- 9:07Speaker 3: playing a very large part on this team. If the
- 9:11Speaker 3: good vibes continue, even though they lost twelve straight, if
- 9:14Speaker 3: the good vibes continue, it's a heck of a story.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I contend he should change because Jeff Conin was mister Marlin,
- 9:20Speaker 3: as Billieve Taylor just said, and I think his son
- 9:24Speaker 3: should just have Marlin Junior on the back of his years,
- 9:27Speaker 3: like mister Marlin Junior, Like that's his last name?
- 9:30Speaker 5: Yeah, why not?
- 9:31Speaker 4: Why not Recardo?
- 9:34Speaker 6: It's not his last name, Ricardo, just a Niner. There's
- 9:38Speaker 6: a point of contention in my Marlin's chat today when
- 9:40Speaker 6: it comes to Griffin Conine. Yeah, Griff, when does a
- 9:44Speaker 6: player stop being young because they're always clamoring for him
- 9:48Speaker 6: to play more Sighting it's because he's young. They're stunting
- 9:51Speaker 6: his development. He's twenty nine years old. I feel like
- 9:54Speaker 6: we're starting to age out of that window where you
- 9:58Speaker 6: could keep saying Griffin Conine's this this young up and comer,
- 10:01Speaker 6: he's he's he's about to turn thirty.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Yep, well he's a young twenty nine though, So what
- 10:06Speaker 1: are you asking here? When it got when we could?
- 10:08Speaker 1: When when do we have to stop saying that this
- 10:11Speaker 1: guy is young? And I think twenty nine is probably
- 10:13Speaker 1: the age and.
- 10:14Speaker 6: The player they want him to play over is Jacob Marcy,
- 10:17Speaker 6: who's twenty five.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Who's really the young one? Yes?
- 10:21Speaker 7: Did we ever stop calling Griffy the kid?
- 10:24Speaker 3: Like?
- 10:24Speaker 7: Did we ever stop calling him the no? Like the Yeah?
- 10:27Speaker 1: If I saw him today walking down the street, I'd
- 10:29Speaker 1: be like, hey, there's the kid.
- 10:30Speaker 3: You know, Hey, you know another way to stay young?
- 10:34Speaker 3: Put junior on the back of your jersey. People will
- 10:36Speaker 3: think you're young the whole time.
- 10:38Speaker 1: But I'm confused as to how the Marlins, who started
- 10:41Speaker 1: today two and a half out of the wild Card,
- 10:44Speaker 1: saved their season by winning a baseball game that put
- 10:47Speaker 1: him two games.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Out of the Wildcard. They possibly won, well, they won
- 10:51Speaker 4: three straight.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Yes, and possibly a game and a half after today's
- 10:55Speaker 1: action is done.
- 10:56Speaker 6: It's because of how they could have quit today. They
- 10:59Speaker 6: could have laid down. They could have said, hayesus Lozardo's
- 11:02Speaker 6: on the mound. We're already down six to nothing. Right now,
- 11:04Speaker 6: I have Riccardo nodding his head and it's and it's
- 11:07Speaker 6: firing me up more when I'm making this point.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Yeah, it always helps.
- 11:10Speaker 6: Yes, they could have laid down, They could have quit instead.
- 11:13Speaker 6: This young Marlins team came together the day that there's
- 11:17Speaker 6: trade reports that they're open to trading Atto Lopez, they're
- 11:20Speaker 6: open a trading Xavier Edwards, and this Marlin's team is
- 11:23Speaker 6: coming together right now and saying, hey, don't quit on us.
- 11:26Speaker 6: We might have lost twelve straight games, but nobody beats
- 11:28Speaker 6: this Marlin team thirteen times in a row.
- 11:31Speaker 4: And we're hot.
- 11:33Speaker 5: I'm not gonna lie though.
- 11:34Speaker 3: So they were doing down six to nothing right yeah? Yeah,
- 11:36Speaker 3: and they scored what three and the fifth, three and
- 11:39Speaker 3: the seventh and two in the eighth. I would have
- 11:41Speaker 3: been more entertained if they all laid down after being
- 11:43Speaker 3: down six to nothing and been like, what is happening
- 11:45Speaker 3: over there?
- 11:45Speaker 5: Why are they all laying down. We're about to lose again.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Yep, but they saved their season today.
- 11:50Speaker 3: I mean it's the first time I've looked at the
- 11:52Speaker 3: standing since they're losing streak and I realized that they're
- 11:55Speaker 3: still in the mix for the wild Card. Okay, twelve
- 11:58Speaker 3: game losing streak, no big deal, the odds. They just
- 12:00Speaker 3: follow that with a twelve game running streak.
- 12:02Speaker 4: How many straight losses did they have?
- 12:03Speaker 6: Twelve? It's twelve.
- 12:04Speaker 4: The idea that you could that's why it's such a
- 12:07Speaker 4: great rule.
- 12:07Speaker 1: The idea that you can go on a twelve game
- 12:09Speaker 1: losing streak like the Marlins did and still find yourself
- 12:11Speaker 1: at playoff contention is amazing. It's it's you know, Rob
- 12:15Speaker 1: Manford deserves credit for getting this done.
- 12:17Speaker 6: So if this game doesn't excite you, can I interest you. Sunday,
- 12:21Speaker 6: August twenty third, at Lone Depot Park, Thank you, Tommy
- 12:24Speaker 6: Day to honor retiring broadcaster Tommy Hutton.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Yes, ooh, I'm on that talk about getting nostalgic, Like
- 12:30Speaker 3: I listen to te Hut anytime, But it.
- 12:32Speaker 6: Doesn't sound like you'll go to Lone Depot Park. Thank you, Tom.
- 12:34Speaker 5: You've got to It's like a forty five minute drive.
- 12:38Speaker 1: If I'm lucky Loan Depot Park, I had no idea
- 12:43Speaker 1: they called it loan Depot Park.
- 12:46Speaker 6: Still Marlins Park to meh, yeah, I'm plugged into this
- 12:49Speaker 6: Marlins team. Ryan Gusto was the starting pitcher today, is he?
- 12:53Speaker 6: And since we're in the South Farda market, I'm working
- 12:55Speaker 6: on a shirt that says Megusto Ryan Gusto.
- 12:59Speaker 5: I think the pronunciation is Megusto or Megosto.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Bryan Gusto be sure to catch live editions of Stu
- 13:08Speaker 2: Godson Company Live weekday, said three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific.
- 13:15Speaker 4: We'll get to is it just me? Or it just
- 13:18Speaker 4: a second?
- 13:18Speaker 1: And Mike Golick Senior going to join us in about
- 13:21Speaker 1: fifteen minutes. Is He asked me a very interesting question
- 13:24Speaker 1: here during the break, and I'm wondering if Taylor has
- 13:27Speaker 1: ever wondered the same thing about any of the songs
- 13:30Speaker 1: that he has put together.
- 13:31Speaker 4: But is He did ask me, do.
- 13:33Speaker 1: You think Jackson coyvid PGA tour player who won this
- 13:37Speaker 1: past weekend, do you think Jackson has heard my song?
- 13:40Speaker 4: Well?
- 13:41Speaker 3: I think a verbatim, I think that I said, what
- 13:44Speaker 3: are the odds that heard my song because I looked
- 13:47Speaker 3: up and he's on McAfee and he looks like a
- 13:51Speaker 3: fourteen year old child, but he's in his you know,
- 13:54Speaker 3: early twenties, twenty one years old. Whatever he's got to
- 13:56Speaker 3: be living on his phone is not you know, practice
- 14:00Speaker 3: or whatever. And I can't imagine unless somebody did one
- 14:04Speaker 3: while he was in college, that anybody has wrote a
- 14:07Speaker 3: parody song about Jackson Covin. So I'm just saying I
- 14:10Speaker 3: feel like the odds are in the like high twenties
- 14:13Speaker 3: that some friend of his who follows Fox Sports is
- 14:16Speaker 3: just like, hey, well this is kind of funny.
- 14:18Speaker 5: Let me send it to Jackson.
- 14:19Speaker 1: So you feel like this is the one and only
- 14:22Speaker 1: Jackson Coven song that lives on social media because you
- 14:26Speaker 1: got to the party first, Whereas Taylor did a bunch
- 14:29Speaker 1: of Jalen Brunson songs and up certain Taylor wonders, hey,
- 14:31Speaker 1: has Jalen ever heard one of my songs?
- 14:33Speaker 4: But everyone was sending Jalen Brunson songs.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, that's more difficult to envision, but I can envision,
- 14:40Speaker 3: you know, first win as a pro turned pro the
- 14:42Speaker 3: same month and is just like soaking in all the
- 14:45Speaker 3: adoration has to be, you know, terminally online and probably.
- 14:49Speaker 5: Came across you know, a little jam Buysy Good.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Tears, Taylor, What do you think do you wonder at
- 14:54Speaker 1: all if Jalen Brunson has heard one of your songs?
- 14:56Speaker 4: You have five of them?
- 14:56Speaker 6: I mean me personally, I don't wonder that because I
- 15:00Speaker 6: don't care if Jalen Brunson even knows I'm alive. Jalen
- 15:02Speaker 6: Brunson for me in my life than one person can
- 15:06Speaker 6: ever expect another person to do. Yeah, people forget I'm
- 15:09Speaker 6: friends with Jalen Brunson on PlayStation, and I refuse to
- 15:12Speaker 6: reach out to him because I don't want to bother.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I sent Ariel Hawane, who was on with us after
- 15:18Speaker 1: every Knicks victory during the NBA Finals, a text asking
- 15:21Speaker 1: him if he felt the way I did where I'm
- 15:24Speaker 1: just in such a relaxed state and I am enjoying
- 15:27Speaker 1: sitting back, almost yawning at what the Sixers and every
- 15:30Speaker 1: other team is trying to do to catch the New
- 15:32Speaker 1: York Knicks. And he said, yes, it's everything I imagine
- 15:35Speaker 1: it to be, except one thousand times better.
- 15:40Speaker 4: He's like, I'm worried about our third center. I love it. Oh, man,
- 15:45Speaker 4: it's good to be a champion.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, enjoy it now because again, come November,
- 15:51Speaker 3: if the Knicks are in sixth place in the East, yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 3: you're going to be pooping yourself.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I don't think so. I mean, I think I'm good
- 15:56Speaker 1: for at least a couple of years.
- 15:58Speaker 4: I like Taylor. I don't know if Taylor is good Field.
- 16:01Speaker 6: You've got the parachutes in for the playoffs. You can't
- 16:03Speaker 6: be talking November for for Stu Gotts like a championship
- 16:06Speaker 6: is not going to make him want to watch the
- 16:08Speaker 6: Knicks more. If anything, it's going to make him want
- 16:10Speaker 6: to watch the next less.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Yes, so you're saying I'm not going to be watching
- 16:13Speaker 1: regular season basketball this year.
- 16:14Speaker 6: You don't come in May and say, Taylor, how have
- 16:17Speaker 6: the Knicks been doing? And then I'll try to fill
- 16:18Speaker 6: you in as best. I'll give you the too long
- 16:20Speaker 6: didn't read on how the Knicks have been doing?
- 16:22Speaker 4: You know, mikey A. I want to get mad at him.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I want to argue with him, but he's right.
- 16:27Speaker 4: It's yes. I'm glad you all agree. Thank you.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Uh, let's get to is it just me or a
- 16:34Speaker 1: game that we play? I want to say weekly, but
- 16:36Speaker 1: we don't.
- 16:38Speaker 7: It doesn't happen just me?
- 16:39Speaker 5: Or do we play this randomly? Yes?
- 16:41Speaker 6: Is that your Is it just me?
- 16:42Speaker 4: Or Nope? Nope, nope, nope, no no. Do you want
- 16:44Speaker 4: to go first?
- 16:45Speaker 3: Is he?
- 16:46Speaker 5: No? Okay, no, I'll go first. It's not really that
- 16:51Speaker 5: sports seed.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I mean it is because it started because of a
- 16:54Speaker 3: sports thought. So there is this woman flag football player.
- 16:58Speaker 3: I don't know how i'd see you, so woman, and
- 17:01Speaker 3: she her name is Isabella Garassi, but she goes by Izzy,
- 17:06Speaker 3: and she is not the first female Izzy that I've
- 17:10Speaker 3: come across.
- 17:11Speaker 5: And then I started thinking to myself, well, wait a second,
- 17:14Speaker 5: is it just me? Or is is he more of
- 17:16Speaker 5: a girl name.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Than a guy named because I'm thinking of permanently, permanently
- 17:21Speaker 3: changing I'm talking going to a courthouse getting rid of
- 17:24Speaker 3: Israel and just replacing it with Izzy because I'm now
- 17:27Speaker 3: getting messages on Instagram of.
- 17:29Speaker 5: People attacking me for my first name.
- 17:32Speaker 8: Okay, and I'm not trying to get political here, but
- 17:35Speaker 8: that sucks. So I'm thinking about changing my name to Izzy,
- 17:38Speaker 8: but not that I would care if it's more a
- 17:40Speaker 8: women's name in a men's name. But I'm just wondering
- 17:42Speaker 8: if you know more people have come across female.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Lizzie's than male izzie'sy is he scan Yes, listen, Isabel
- 17:50Speaker 1: is he asure for Isabelle.
- 17:51Speaker 5: Right Isabelle or in this case, what was this one again?
- 17:53Speaker 5: I just said it? Oh Isabella?
- 17:55Speaker 4: Yes, yes, Yeah, So you're gonna change it to.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Izzy because Israel is a tough going just right now,
- 18:00Speaker 1: I could always switch back if everything calms down in
- 18:03Speaker 1: the rest of the world and everybody's not thinking of
- 18:05Speaker 1: my name as being, you know, the hotbed of controversy
- 18:08Speaker 1: for the entire planet, then you know, maybe I'll switch back.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Yep.
- 18:12Speaker 9: If you're going to change your name, go big with it.
- 18:14Speaker 9: Don't just just don't don't just go just don't refer
- 18:16Speaker 9: to is he.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Go big with it.
- 18:17Speaker 3: That's a good point, Mikey, because what you also don't
- 18:19Speaker 3: know is I don't have a middle name, so I'm
- 18:21Speaker 3: I have a blank canvas like I could. Absolutely I've
- 18:24Speaker 3: always wanted to have a middle name with an X
- 18:27Speaker 3: as the initial or maybe a cute Are.
- 18:30Speaker 1: You looking for a new last name, because I'll gladly
- 18:35Speaker 1: take Goudieera's off your hands in exchange for Wiener.
- 18:37Speaker 5: Wow in my community, Wiener would slap them.
- 18:40Speaker 4: I mean John GOUDIERAZ is a totally different person.
- 18:43Speaker 5: Ohow, I mean right John GOUDIERO. Yes, yes, is he Wiener?
- 18:48Speaker 6: Not so much?
- 18:49Speaker 7: Then you got to go middle name d.
- 18:54Speaker 5: Wiener. I think we figured it out. We have to
- 18:57Speaker 5: get married or can we just flip up name?
- 18:58Speaker 1: We don't have to get married, but will solve everything
- 19:00Speaker 1: for youset.
- 19:03Speaker 4: No one's gonna make fun of that name. Let's go
- 19:07Speaker 4: to mikey A. What do you have Mike here?
- 19:11Speaker 5: Is it just me?
- 19:12Speaker 10: Or is the NFL trying to make the mundane something
- 19:17Speaker 10: like we had video today of the Ravens showing up
- 19:20Speaker 10: to training camps and they had to put speakers and
- 19:23Speaker 10: an announcer and just bring in everybody like it, Like,
- 19:27Speaker 10: can't guys just walk into a building normally anymore?
- 19:30Speaker 7: Can't we just just.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Be not only is he right?
- 19:36Speaker 7: Right?
- 19:36Speaker 3: Because it's just where football knows that they have a
- 19:41Speaker 3: time of the year where they're starting to basically shake
- 19:44Speaker 3: off the rust and like it's the equivalent of just
- 19:46Speaker 3: like rubbing your eyes in the morning.
- 19:48Speaker 5: That's what football is doing and there's nothing else more interesting.
- 19:52Speaker 5: So the Texans quarterback whose name is escaping me.
- 19:57Speaker 6: That's what I was just gonna bring up. Yeah, I've
- 19:59Speaker 6: never found worse about a quarterback than I was then
- 20:01Speaker 6: when I saw CJ.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Stroud walking in Unless it was two thousand and three
- 20:05Speaker 3: or something, then you'd be like, Hey, that guy's totally hip.
- 20:07Speaker 5: But now he looked terrible.
- 20:09Speaker 7: Yes, did he look like he traded wardrobes with Kirk.
- 20:13Speaker 6: Cousinsh God, it was terrible.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Does he look like the reason they're not they're not
- 20:17Speaker 1: as successful as they should be.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Like he's wearing that doesn't look athletic. I'll tell you that.
- 20:21Speaker 6: Really, Aaron Schattz has to account that into his DVA numbers.
- 20:25Speaker 6: How bad Stroud looked walking into the building with zero confidence.
- 20:29Speaker 3: He's wearing a white tea and like, not even like
- 20:32Speaker 3: old two thousands white tea where it's down to your knees,
- 20:35Speaker 3: just a regular white tea, some oversized gray boring his
- 20:39Speaker 3: junk basketball shorts, backpack on both shoulders. Literally walking like
- 20:44Speaker 3: he's walking into a class at the University of Florida
- 20:47Speaker 3: in two thousand and four. Absolutely looks like a different
- 20:51Speaker 3: time than a different person.
- 20:53Speaker 1: It's great Houston Community College, but was walking funny with Baltimore.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I kind of liked it, like new coach right, a
- 21:01Speaker 1: new PA announcer. That PA announcer was introducing all the players.
- 21:05Speaker 1: It felt good, it sounded good. It would get me
- 21:07Speaker 1: jacked up if I were a fan of the Ravens.
- 21:09Speaker 1: It'd be funny if when he announced Lamar Jackson and
- 21:12Speaker 1: our next person starting quarterback has.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Never made it to a Super Bowl.
- 21:19Speaker 9: Yeah, but I don't need next year everybody checking their
- 21:21Speaker 9: Twitter being like I wonder what they're gonna do when
- 21:23Speaker 9: everybody arrives today, Like, I'm.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Good with the Everything has to be a thing, right,
- 21:29Speaker 3: I'm good with the schedule releases.
- 21:30Speaker 5: Those are funny.
- 21:31Speaker 3: I do not want to see what you know the
- 21:34Speaker 3: Philadelphia Eagles kicker looks like.
- 21:36Speaker 5: When he's walking from his car to the facility.
- 21:38Speaker 6: I am shocked that Mikey is out on this, because
- 21:41Speaker 6: Mikey is who I would imagine their their target audience is. Yes,
- 21:44Speaker 6: if the Jets are like, hey, we're gonna post videos
- 21:47Speaker 6: of people walking into the building, Mikey looks at it
- 21:49Speaker 6: like like a pagan mud being like, oh, I'm gonna
- 21:52Speaker 6: I'm gonna eat all.
- 21:53Speaker 4: This content until you get to their resumes.
- 21:55Speaker 7: Right, it oversaturated the market. I can't look forward to everything.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I mean, the Jets might be the only team in
- 22:04Speaker 1: the NFL who can't do that. There's no accomplishments to
- 22:10Speaker 1: point out.
- 22:10Speaker 3: If the Dolphins had their all Pro linebacker from last
- 22:13Speaker 3: year walk through the parking lot, I would say.
- 22:15Speaker 5: Wow, they have an all Pro linebacker.
- 22:17Speaker 4: On their team. That's all I was.
- 22:19Speaker 1: It should say all Pro linebacker on the back of
- 22:21Speaker 1: his jersey. Go ahead, Taylor, Is it just me?
- 22:25Speaker 6: Or are the Buffalo Bill's Nickel City alternate uniforms absolutely terrible?
- 22:30Speaker 4: First, not just you.
- 22:33Speaker 7: I have never, thank god you said terrible.
- 22:35Speaker 6: I have never, not once in my life, heard of
- 22:37Speaker 6: Buffalo referred to as the nickel citter Stu, you are
- 22:41Speaker 6: the master of nicknames. Did you know Buffalo was the
- 22:44Speaker 6: Nickel City?
- 22:44Speaker 5: No?
- 22:45Speaker 4: I had no idea. Nope.
- 22:47Speaker 6: And then I think I think gray might be the
- 22:49Speaker 6: most underused uniform color in football because it's the toughest
- 22:53Speaker 6: to properly execute. There's a very high variance where Detroit
- 22:57Speaker 6: Lions them trading those gray uniforms for black uniforms, major upgrade.
- 23:02Speaker 3: But they had the Honolulu blue that went so well
- 23:05Speaker 3: that if you just went more blue than gray. You'd
- 23:07Speaker 3: almost forget that they're going with gray. So I think
- 23:09Speaker 3: Detroit did a decent job.
- 23:11Speaker 6: They also put out a chart stew of. It was
- 23:15Speaker 6: basically detailing all the details in the uniform. My biggest problem.
- 23:19Speaker 6: Inside the collar it says go bills with an exclamation mark,
- 23:23Speaker 6: and on the chart it says the preferred way to
- 23:28Speaker 6: salute bills mafia in the wild. First off, first off,
- 23:34Speaker 6: go bills. Yes, you have the chant Let's go Buffaloo.
- 23:40Speaker 6: You have that chant already saying let's go bills is
- 23:44Speaker 6: the preferred way to greet people. Bills fans in the wild, Mikey,
- 23:48Speaker 6: pretend you're a Raiders fan. Let's go Raiders. Pretend you're
- 23:55Speaker 6: a Rams fan. Hey, let's go Rams.
- 23:59Speaker 3: The Gators did a whole commercial telling everybody go Gators,
- 24:03Speaker 3: and that's just go Gators.
- 24:04Speaker 5: So oh go Bill, got it?
- 24:06Speaker 6: Go blank is the preferred way to greet any fan.
- 24:11Speaker 3: And that if so bad like they look like concrete
- 24:14Speaker 3: or maybe cement. They look like undried concrete, concrete. And
- 24:18Speaker 3: then if you just look at it from the front,
- 24:20Speaker 3: you think you're looking at some sort of national team, right,
- 24:23Speaker 3: and it's got the blue red and white.
- 24:24Speaker 5: It's just terrible.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:27Speaker 9: First, put it on the pole is go blank, the
- 24:29Speaker 9: preferred way to greet any fan base. Secondly, I can't
- 24:34Speaker 9: help but notice that they look exactly like the Adam
- 24:37Speaker 9: West Batman uniform san material.
- 24:40Speaker 7: It's that color gray and that I'm just like, this
- 24:44Speaker 7: looks this was this big swing in.
- 24:46Speaker 6: A miss Mikey. It looks like if in a movie
- 24:48Speaker 6: that was set in the nineteen eighties was like, let's
- 24:51Speaker 6: see how they play football in the twenty twenties, this
- 24:54Speaker 6: is what that team would be wearing. But in this
- 24:56Speaker 6: charts to one of the things I actually did, like
- 25:00Speaker 6: they have blue collars the uniforms right, and the uniform
- 25:03Speaker 6: say it's a tribute to the blue collar workers, like Buffalo.
- 25:07Speaker 6: I wanted to hate that. Yeah, I kind of love it.
- 25:08Speaker 6: It's kind of a point back to Buffalo.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:10Speaker 6: But also, if you're the Buffalo Bills, can you do
- 25:13Speaker 6: this whole this whole parade claiming to celebrate Buffalo's blue
- 25:16Speaker 6: collar workers? And then the cheapest ticket to go to
- 25:19Speaker 6: the home opener September seventeen right now is seven hundred dollars.
- 25:23Speaker 4: It could be a bunch of white collar people there.
- 25:25Speaker 9: I mean I also love that they had to put
- 25:29Speaker 9: an exclamation point on there.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Yeah, like just so you know, let's go Buffalo, Let's
- 25:33Speaker 1: go Bill. But I gotta tell you blue Collars. I
- 25:36Speaker 1: mean that gets me.
- 25:36Speaker 4: It gives me goosebumps, It really does.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Yeah, until you drilled down a little bit more. Quick, Taylor,
- 25:41Speaker 3: pretend you're an Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Yeah, I can't
- 25:46Speaker 3: really go go Crimson Tide.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Roll Todd, Yeah, roll damn time ll damn tie. All right, quick,
- 25:51Speaker 4: it's not a universal before we get to Goli. Is
- 25:54Speaker 4: it just me? Or am I the only one that
- 25:56Speaker 4: doesn't care? Or does it?
- 25:57Speaker 1: Know what the ninety nine club for Madden NFL twenty
- 26:01Speaker 1: seven is?
- 26:02Speaker 4: Don'kay?
- 26:03Speaker 6: What does it means?
- 26:03Speaker 4: A video game for crying out loud?
- 26:05Speaker 3: Nothing gets me more upset when people are in the
- 26:07Speaker 3: ninety nine club who don't deserve it. I'm talking to you,
- 26:10Speaker 3: DeVante Adams that one year did not deserve it. I
- 26:13Speaker 3: don't know if Trey McBride deserves it, although tight ends
- 26:15Speaker 3: are a different animal. Did I see Matthew Stafford in
- 26:18Speaker 3: that club? Or am I crazy?
- 26:19Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 26:19Speaker 5: So that's insane.
- 26:21Speaker 6: I think they're just giving respect to the reigning MVP.
- 26:24Speaker 4: That's insane, right, But he got it. And Josh Allen
- 26:26Speaker 4: did it.
- 26:26Speaker 6: Josh Allen did get it.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Oh, he did so. Did Lamar Jackson get it?
- 26:30Speaker 6: Lamar Jackson not in the.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Did Joe Burrow get it?
- 26:36Speaker 4: Nope?
- 26:37Speaker 6: Wow, Jackson Smith and Jigba did well.
- 26:39Speaker 5: He deserves That's good.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Whatever it is, he deserves it.
- 26:42Speaker 5: Did Pookin Akua get it?
- 26:44Speaker 6: No, Jamar Chaseta, Well, that would switch out.
- 26:46Speaker 5: Pookin a coup for Matthew Stafford.
- 26:49Speaker 9: See what's interesting to me about it is this is
- 26:51Speaker 9: who they're telling you were the.
- 26:52Speaker 7: Best players in the game.
- 26:54Speaker 9: And I look at it sometimes and I go, do
- 26:56Speaker 9: you remember last year when they told us this guy
- 26:58Speaker 9: was the best?
- 26:59Speaker 4: Like last year they told us Justin Jefferson was the
- 27:01Speaker 4: best player.
- 27:02Speaker 7: Just now he's fantastic. But apparently he's not quarterback proof.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Right, Well, he's not in the club this year. I
- 27:09Speaker 1: mean he's not. Well, Kyler Murray's quarterback.
- 27:14Speaker 4: Matthew Stafford ninety nine club.
- 27:16Speaker 1: There's a ninety nine percent chance he gets injured before
- 27:19Speaker 1: Week sixty.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Golic Senior next.

- 27:54Speaker 1: Our thanks to Mike Golicks Senior for joining us today
- 27:56Speaker 1: by Moni Jones as well. We have to finish off
- 27:59Speaker 1: the show here with the the one hundred greatest baseball
- 28:02Speaker 1: players of all time, according to a guy named Jake.
- 28:05Speaker 1: The one hundred greatest dot com is the name of
- 28:07Speaker 1: his website. We left off yesterday at number seventy with
- 28:11Speaker 1: Roy Halliday. That feels a bit low for Roy Halliday.
- 28:15Speaker 1: I gotta be honest with you. Isn't lower high when
- 28:17Speaker 1: you feel like someone should be. That's the lifelong debate
- 28:22Speaker 1: is the rank?
- 28:22Speaker 3: Is he ranked too low? Ranked too high? I always
- 28:25Speaker 3: go with what feels right and what when you said it,
- 28:27Speaker 3: it felt right?
- 28:28Speaker 4: Okay?
- 28:28Speaker 5: Yeah, so it seems like a.
- 28:29Speaker 6: Too low on the list if you want him higher
- 28:31Speaker 6: on the list.
- 28:31Speaker 3: If you're listing them from the bottom, apparently from the
- 28:33Speaker 3: floor to the ceiling, right, number one would be on
- 28:36Speaker 3: the top, So I would say, sure though.
- 28:37Speaker 1: All right, so we're up to number sixty nine here,
- 28:40Speaker 1: Mike Ye's now, yeah, Mardwicks, who do we have have
- 28:46Speaker 1: for number?
- 28:47Speaker 4: For number sixty nine.
- 28:50Speaker 9: Our boy Jake was on a starting pitcher run. He
- 28:52Speaker 9: had Nolan Ryan at seventy one, Roy Halliday at seventy
- 28:55Speaker 9: and now at number sixty nine, Giggody, John.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Smoltz, yeah, starter relieve her all time great ahead of
- 29:04Speaker 1: Roy Halladay.
- 29:05Speaker 4: Huh and Nolan Ryan.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Yeah, he's okay at golf. I thought he'd be better,
- 29:10Speaker 1: to be honest, really, yeah, I mean he's got a
- 29:12Speaker 1: hole in his backyard, a full hole.
- 29:15Speaker 5: Oh okay, I get what you're saying now, not.
- 29:18Speaker 1: A sinkhole, a golf hole. It is backyard, Dicky. Yeah,
- 29:22Speaker 1: number sixty eight here.
- 29:24Speaker 7: Number sixty eight's another starting pitcher. Gay Lord Perry.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Wow, there's no way Gaylord Perry should be ranked higher
- 29:32Speaker 1: than John Smoltz, Nolan Ryan, or Roy Halladay.
- 29:36Speaker 4: This is crazy.
- 29:37Speaker 6: I would take a gay Lord Perry fastball to the
- 29:39Speaker 6: upper deck at Yankee Stadium.
- 29:40Speaker 5: Give me do a quick poll in America.
- 29:43Speaker 4: He thinks he could mean. He thinks he shut down
- 29:46Speaker 4: Bob Goosey as well.
- 29:48Speaker 6: I also got cut from the baseball team in tenth grade.
- 29:51Speaker 3: So I'm moving like Graham. Anybody want to do a
- 29:54Speaker 3: quick research. I don't think of long what's the who's
- 29:57Speaker 3: the youngest gay lord that we have in the world today?
- 29:59Speaker 5: Because I don't think that name's being repeated anymore.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Wow, to talk about problematic first names, This gaylord was
- 30:04Speaker 1: born in nineteen thirty eight.
- 30:06Speaker 6: Seems old for a gay lord.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Still yeah, still what you They stopped making gay lords
- 30:11Speaker 1: in nineteen thirty eight.
- 30:12Speaker 4: I feel like it.
