- 1:11[SPEAKER_02]: They've got Broncos.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: F-150 Broncos.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: Superduties, expeditions.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: Wrong.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: Out of all that Anderson 4.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: We've been probably a little heavy on the F-150.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we got to promote Broncos.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: They're really popping.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos are big and weird kids.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos are big and weird.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_04]: They're still big right now.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_04]: They got these cool headlights.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_04]: They're kind of a little different kind of, just take a look at a new Bronco in their headlights.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_04]: Cool.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and I just wonder, I wonder if Mike wants to maybe raffle that off.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_04]: But Brock and F-1.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, maybe do both.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_04]: He'll be here the 20 seconds.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_04]: 20 seconds for the raffle.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_04]: He will.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the 20 seconds for the raffle.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: I've not confirmed the raffle.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be surprised that the raffle actually happens, but he will be here in the 20 seconds.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think we should get this, we should get it in here like a showroom.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: We get a car in here, I was going to get in the show room.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_04]: We don't have a big, uh, I think we have a garage.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_04]: The garage opened up here.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_04]: If we came in, and all of a sudden, there was a sweet truck parked inside the mill.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_04]: It would throw D.P.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_04]: for a loop.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_04]: We'd be a little bit, what happened?
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: Speaking of loops, we got to get to show.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we were joined out by Huskerline Sean Kelly and Sean Good morning.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: Did you go into a dark place yesterday with SIP when he asked the question to Rob Arches about going through a dark place for the defense?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Do you remember that Sean, do you remember that conversation?
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: out of my wrist, correct?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: That was a shout out of my wrist.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: And it's funny.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think maybe Rob Orge knew that you kind of struggled with the name and you kind of really like, worked up your courage and he goes, yep, that's right.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: You got it.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: Good job.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like I'm a third grader.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: Um, shout out of my wrist, Sean, emerges number one on the depth chart.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: Was that the one thing that jumped out of you, the biggest thing or what, what, what
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's go back to like January 15th when you know the roster was set with the transfers and classes began.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: I still don't think we could have predicted that Riley Mount Popple wasn't going to be a starter.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think that was kind of one I get that time.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, oh yeah, he'll be a starter.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: Just kind of by but at the same time, he never really did anything exceptional.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: So was that a good thing?
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they bring in two transfers.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: Pay obviously two guys to come in in the middle and those guys are going to be the starters, stout of fire and obviously winning tin.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: So that was a surprise.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think Rex got three kind of reemerging to a coat one line.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: Because we were just led to believe, you know, maybe he wasn't quite there yet.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: But it clearly he came on late.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: to the point where he's listed the co-starter with McDougal who was the starter for Rob Orange when he's at San Diego State.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought that was notable on offense.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we had really the gunner to a thing.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think the last couple weeks has played out where we had a good feeling that's what it was going to look like.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: I was actually Preston Talmoa, seeing him
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: co-to on that line would tree bubble a lot.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: I got my attention and I thought that was a great sign because President is a talent player and hopefully they're getting it out of him now and he's on the right path.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like it does seem like he probably is.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: So that's he's a junior.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now there's there's a, there's a sophomore that's going to be pressed into duty in the defensive interior that you're very interested in as am I Tyson Terry.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think that picture will look like he's on the two lines Sean.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: Um, one of the toughest kids to come out of Omaha, maybe I'll say since Ricky Henry.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, because Ricky Henry is one of the toughest dudes.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of a side story there.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: He actually beat, um, I believe it was Aaron Terry, the one that's the D-Line Coach.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: He beat Tyson, uh, Ricky Henry beat Aaron Terry in the state wrestling heavyweight finals.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, come on back in the day, but yeah, that's who Tyson kind of reminds me of coming out of Omaha
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: no nonsense, blue collar, tough guy, you know, won the state championship and wrestling on a torn ACL, and it cost him his fresh from year, but he wanted to be the first four-time heavyweight champion in history here he is now and should be ready to go and you just wonder what the snap load can look like for him.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, can they get 15 out of him going to get 20 out of him?
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what's a realistic number for a guy like Tyson Terry and the opener?
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: Sean, if he's on a two line 15 to 20s in play, I mean, he's probably what he's going to have to do, right?
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you wonder how that will look if the starters go the first say two series and a new rotate in the two group for a series or two.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, how aggressive will that rotation be up front and it's going to be hotter than hell.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: especially with the defense of positional groups.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have to rotate and utilize your depth in a game like this when it's going to be 97 degrees in full flood and I say to you, I know one of the things that got your intention was attention was, Duane McDougal at safety, we figured it would be on the one line, but with him is Rex Guthrie.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, McDougal didn't win the job outright because of that ore that's sitting there.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: Guthrie was, it's been kind of quiet on the Guthrie front until the depth chart came
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: And people forget like last year, he probably almost could have shut it down and he played on that shoulder late in the year, the last four or five games, particularly when he struggled.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: And he played through that shoulder injury and it affected this tackling and the pain, I'm sure that he battled week to week.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: And then it affected people's opinions on it, you know, and people kind of left him for
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, he is one of the fastest guys in terms of like testing and numbers on the team and when healthy, um, I mean plays really, really well, but yeah, I think getting back off that shoulder, you just never know because those are six-month plus type recoveries and, you know, he's here he is, right, you're all got three number 21 Sean number 21 go ahead, Bill, Sean Bill Bush, 93 seven, the ticket.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_04]: earlier from yesterday's press conference we listened to the coach Holgerson mentioned that at Calander's last two stops he was able to freelance quite often and then that has now been kind of sequestered from that would be if you and LV and Virginia.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_04]: What would be the positive about that from for Nebraska fans that now that the coaching is better?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, things are going to look better for him where you may not have to freelance as much, but we can't take a way that part of his game.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's what makes him, you know, that he's not matliner or he's not a, you know, Dylan Ryle as far as like a guy that is a true pocket quarterback.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: So they're going to be moments where he's going to bail my brask out.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's one of the attractions to Anthony Klander.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, you can't overdo it.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: This league is too good.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: The coaching is too good.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: The talent is too good.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: And when you play a 65 snap game and the big 10, you can't really have a lot of mistakes.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: You know, especially when the possessions get so limited.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you leave out last year, like UCLA, the brass gets played a perfect half.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: They score 21 points.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: They only have three possessions in the whole half.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: Three possessions.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: And that's how the style play is in this league a lot of weeks where
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: your possessions are so limited that you've got to not make mistakes that can cost you in a big tent football game.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how to ask this other than just what is this offense going to look like?
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have a feel for it?
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a great question.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to know.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to know.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to think you go into this game early to try to establish that
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: and let those backs go in at all three years good as their presenting if it's truly a three man co-one line um... you should be able to wear a high-o-down and this run those guys you know forty times in this game uh... but it will struggle to run the ball and then then all of a sudden look out but a high-o is a team that is hard to get a read on because they they lost a lot of players um... you know they lost their entire offense for the most part in
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: the other defense coordinator got elevated of the head coaching role.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: So there'll be a lot of continuity with what they do on defense.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: But there's a Ohio team that's been a nine win plus team the last four straight years.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: So you know, they're used to winning in that program.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, they're going to give Nebraska a lot, especially early on in this game.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: the reason I ask about the offense and I hear what you're saying like I will rule his set I'm in ruin when rule took the job what he say wants to be a physical running game with play action.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the reason it's complicated in my mind is right now is the best players I think on offense are a receiver, right?
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: And you're going to, he's talking about going for, you know, for a wide a lot.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, using Quinn Clark, 10 personnel, they're going to, they've got to get those guys involved.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't think you're just going to see him hammer away with the running backs.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't know, though.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it sounds enticing to do that.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't really want to do that though, like I really believe that you can control the ground game, you know, you can control everything, I mean at that point because, you know, that's what hurt in Nebraska, you know, with Clandry as a runner now too and some of the things he can do.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: up a little bit more and that was what hurt Nebraska last year when they were predictable the safety's could drop back and Gillin Rail was not a threat to run and do things and it kind of affected the offense because they got to be very predictable where defenses didn't really respect Gillin's running abilities.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: The tackle play wasn't the best for Nebraska so
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: teams could really get to Bill and Raiola with even just format rushes like the Michigan game and some of the games that we saw last year.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: So you hope this team is built different than what we saw last year, where the the safeties were always sitting back, which took away the big play.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: You just didn't see a lot of
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: big, big plays, especially late in the year.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: Sean, you're really good at this sort of question.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: There's a ton of construction right now.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just downtown Lincoln.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's everywhere.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: There's gates that aren't going to be open over there.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think Jake said six.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: for you for the game in six by the time kick off it's you think this will be i i i i i i i i i don't think the guys agree with me could this be a kind of a later arriving crowd could be a little bit space sketchy early it's hard to say yeah i mean because you got to get on the interstate and get to link in early for these eleven amgames regardless and
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: it's going to be earlier than folks want and so you have naturally kind of creates a log jam to get in the stadium but when you're driving like through downtown Lincoln I mean it literally feels like it's like a war torn country right now like you feel the same it doesn't you I mean there's just piles of rubble and concrete and dirt on the lanes I mean it's like what in the hell is that
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: I drive down the street every day.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, yes.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: From South Lincoln to go that route to the Vani in places like the our office.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: And my God, well, there's this no way that they can have this like this or football season.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's no way that like building a student apartment building is going to like affect everybody going to the Husker.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: And what is going to affect and are like tearing up
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, let's just have the number one thing that drives our economy, like let's just let's just upset every person coming down for it now.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't think they're going to have a massive cleanup in the next three days.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: The open streets also are partly shut down.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like, history is too late.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's not for where most streets, you can't drive it.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: The other one, two lanes kind of for it.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be, you may have him here.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to learn the back routes, like if you're going to the hay market, you're almost better off turning down to like eight streets.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: You know, get off 9th and 10th, right about the, I'm giving you my secret here, but right off the courthouse area you turn before that, you can cut to the hay market down through a tree, you have a void, a void, some of the, the war torn rubble.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's a little industrial complex kind of down there where you go, but yeah, you're right.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't, I'm surprised you said that on the radio because now it's going to happen and it'll be fine.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: I just let this, well, there's ways through downtown, but yeah, you can't go down the main path and think it's going to do you much because everyone's going to be jammed in the two lanes and then you got to get over and it's a mess.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: Don't be interesting day on Saturday, Sean, the curtain goes up.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: The curtain goes up.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking forward to it, guys.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's been the longest and the strangest of all seasons I've had, arguably in my 25-year stubbornness.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it just, you just don't have a great field for obvious reasons with the portal error that we're in, but in the schedule itself on paper is so tough.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: But then again, it's hard to predict the schedule.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like last year, Penn State was supposed to be a playoff team and they weren't.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: So like, there'll be things on this schedule that don't play out.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like we're saying right now, like every year.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what makes it even more intriguing.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like Iowa may not be good this year.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know that for Washington, we think we'll be good.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know Illinois.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: We like there's teams.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think we know Oregon's gonna be good and we think we know Ohio State's gonna be really good.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: But Indiana, like what will they look like?
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many things about this team
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: make it even harder to really measure what this year's going to be and somebody might be much better than we think too you know yeah it's it's that type of air and college football where the portal can change your team pretty quickly and you know a couple of years ago when they went out to Indiana like yeah you kind of thought that could be a win and all the sudden you get drilled.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: All the sudden it's 56 and it was the overhead.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it's like completely packed
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: call it's game day or big new kickoff said we're walking by John Cougar Mellum camp camp simple nine that put me in the end it is went from like nothing to like John Cougar Mellum camp attending all the games and it's like whoa I mean I thought what's like in turn in this era and they call it for sure remember a half time we're sitting there I think Indiana at 300 yards and we're going to think I get six hundred like what's the point it was not a point I think they had 300 yards at half time is that right
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, we're going, okay, we have to kind of get ready to like this might be a record.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're putting up like 1983 Nebraska scoring explosion numbers.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was weird.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then that was an Nebraska defense guy that had Nash and Ty and Jamari.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that wasn't a bad defense.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that was the same defense that held Ohio State to one rushing first mouse.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: really odd.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: It was a really odd day in Bloomington for sure.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: It was.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_01]: We were, it was like, we got hit by something at halftime.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: We were like, what is going on here?
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's very confusing.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: It was confusing.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: It was confusing.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: It was confusing.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_02]: It was confusing.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_02]: Sean, always good stuff.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: Enjoy the game, Saturday.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: We'll chat with you next week.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, guys.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: Oscar line Sean Callahan.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_02]: What an interesting is the secret through downtown Lincoln for travel.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he just go over.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't know if school over one block's going to solve it all.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_04]: It's also a little bit as I'm not saying it's the worst idea.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_04]: But I just don't know what it could be.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_04]: The the part that you don't factor in is I just can't imagine that there's not a collision.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I mean, you really think people on their phone and you're being a little ominous here though.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_04]: It's true.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, right.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_04]: It's been real.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_04]: It's bad.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_04]: You're being real.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_04]: That's bad happens.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_04]: You're going to be people.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_04]: There'll be people not going into the game.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_04]: See, and like, I'm not going there.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_04]: And it's to start on a quarter.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_04]: We're at 38 to 7.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_04]: If you are.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_04]: You're being a dark place.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: I would encourage now it's to be hot, but if you like ride your bike this year to games here is a great year to ride your bike.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if you get in there, if you, yeah, that's a smart idea.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_04]: Just try not to park if you don't have to ask us, is there still like bike racks?

- 18:35[SPEAKER_04]: I just don't see a lot of people.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_04]: Remember the old locks.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_04]: My favorite things ever was just you walking through a campus to be at Westland.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_04]: There would be two just a front tires locked up because someone stole the rest of the bike.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_04]: They just undied the tires, stole the bike, and someone comes back goes, I'm not taking my tire.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_04]: They just leave it set there for like a year.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_04]: It's just a tire changed up to a bike rack.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_04]: And that's I missed those times, it's like a cake.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_04]: That might still stick in my random parts.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: Bikes don't get stolen at all.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
