- 0:08Speaker 1: Jolling us.
- 0:10Speaker 2: It's an exciting day for the pod, extremely exciting, Joe.
- 0:15Speaker 3: We had a very interesting ride here. It was really special.
- 0:17Speaker 2: We partnered up with our friends at Hyundai for Hope
- 0:19Speaker 2: on Wheels, which is an amazing initiative they've had going
- 0:23Speaker 2: since nineteen ninety eight, over three hundred hundred million dollars
- 0:27Speaker 2: to support individuals living with pediatric cancer. It's and their families,
- 0:33Speaker 2: the doctors, the researchers. A portion of every appurchase.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Of a Hundai has gone to this initiative.
- 0:38Speaker 2: And you know, I think for us as fathers, these
- 0:42Speaker 2: kind of partnerships are are key, you know, ways in
- 0:44Speaker 2: which we can really show some love to families, to
- 0:47Speaker 2: individuals going through these tough moments in their lives. And
- 0:49Speaker 2: we actually have three incredible warriors here.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Today at the Piper Bell. Yeah, Eliza and Eliza's here
- 0:58Speaker 3: front row. Welcome. Thank you so much, thanks for joining us.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Thank you so much. We're so happy. And I believe
- 1:04Speaker 3: we met Belle. We met Bell before.
- 1:06Speaker 1: So my mom hosted you all at saddle Back Eastern
- 1:09Speaker 1: Church service back in like two thousand and nine.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I was one years old, you're one years old when
- 1:14Speaker 3: we met. What did you remember most from that experience.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It was at the Angel Stadium and my mom hosted
- 1:19Speaker 1: you all and then you guys saying it's a bitsy
- 1:21Speaker 1: spider to me, which is absolutely crazy. So it is
- 1:24Speaker 1: a full circle moment.
- 1:25Speaker 3: To be here today. Wow.
- 1:26Speaker 2: We let you know what, I think, that's the only
- 1:28Speaker 2: time we've ever sung that spider.
- 1:33Speaker 3: That's all we got. We have to pay for the
- 1:35Speaker 3: song now to use it on the podcast. No we uh,
- 1:37Speaker 3: that's probably the first time we've ever performed that song. Yeah, well,
- 1:41Speaker 3: I love it. We're honored that you're here.
- 1:43Speaker 4: To everyone here, all the warriors, thank you so much
- 1:45Speaker 4: for spending your day with us, and we have a very.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Special show for you today. Camp Rock is out.
- 1:51Speaker 4: We are so excited to be introducing you to the
- 1:53Speaker 4: new cast, the Camp Rock three.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Oh oh oh no, this is dangerous. My soundboard is
- 1:59Speaker 2: soundboard is camp camp Rockified. But let's back it all
- 2:01Speaker 2: the way up real quick. Before we get right into
- 2:03Speaker 2: Camp Rock three, let's go to where the journey began
- 2:06Speaker 2: with Disney as a whole for us connector but more.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Specifically with Camp Rock.
- 2:11Speaker 5: Right.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Okay, So to really paint the picture, we have to
- 2:15Speaker 2: go all the way back to the year two thousand
- 2:17Speaker 2: and six. We had just moved from New York, New
- 2:20Speaker 2: Jersey area to Los Angeles and one of our big
- 2:23Speaker 2: first meetings was right here in this town that we're
- 2:26Speaker 2: in right now, in Burbank, at the Disney Channel building.
- 2:28Speaker 2: And they would basically give us these scripts for fake
- 2:31Speaker 2: shows that just had funny bits for us to do.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And Kevin, you actually found, yeah, one of our og
- 2:36Speaker 2: auditions for the Disney Channel, and for whatever reason, because
- 2:40Speaker 2: the audition was not very good, Nope, they saw enough
- 2:42Speaker 2: promise in us that they kind of kept us in
- 2:45Speaker 2: mind for different projects. And I remember specifically, we're on
- 2:47Speaker 2: tour in seven early two thousand and seven. We called
- 2:51Speaker 2: it the Marvelous Party Tour, which is really great, great name,
- 2:57Speaker 2: and we were playing at six flags across the country
- 3:00Speaker 2: and our father said, Hey, Disney has this project that
- 3:02Speaker 2: they're putting together. They hope it'll become like the next
- 3:05Speaker 2: high school musical, and they like Joe to audition.
- 3:08Speaker 3: And so with this camera it's called a flip vid. Well,
- 3:12Speaker 3: they also asked, They said, the audition is one song
- 3:15Speaker 3: of your choosing and a dance as well. I didn't
- 3:20Speaker 3: say exactly what kind of dance. We really need to
- 3:22Speaker 3: find this clip though. We gotta find it.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Basically, the audition was was shot so poorly, and May
- 3:30Speaker 2: thought I'll be crushed it.
- 3:30Speaker 4: We used the lamp in the hotel room but turned
- 3:34Speaker 4: it like this to hold it like this, so that
- 3:35Speaker 4: the whole was like a spotlight.
- 3:37Speaker 3: That's as good as we got.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And to be honest, I was panicked that basically Joe
- 3:41Speaker 2: was going to go do this movie, become a big
- 3:42Speaker 2: star on his own, and then the band would be over.
- 3:46Speaker 2: But our dad had a different idea. Basically, he called
- 3:48Speaker 2: and said, exactly, if you want Joe to be in
- 3:51Speaker 2: this movie, then you got to include Nick and Kevin
- 3:56Speaker 2: in some way. And so they literally wrote in our
- 3:59Speaker 2: two characters in Nate and.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Shane happened to be the other change. What's your character's name, Jason? Jason.
- 4:06Speaker 3: We still don't know to this day if we're brothers
- 4:08Speaker 3: in the movie or not. In camp nobody knows.
- 4:11Speaker 2: In two the credits, at the end of the first one,
- 4:14Speaker 2: it just says Nate and Jason. Yeah, no last name,
- 4:17Speaker 2: no last name, So we don't know to this day.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I think we can assume that we're related in the
- 4:22Speaker 2: In the film, I think, cousins, have you ever watched
- 4:26Speaker 2: the first one, the camp Rock?
- 4:28Speaker 3: Yeah? Have I watched it? No, you've watched it. Of course,
- 4:34Speaker 3: we watched it at the premiere. I think I will
- 4:36Speaker 3: love watching my own work. But we watched the premiere,
- 4:38Speaker 3: I remember, I Yeah, it's a It's interesting that they
- 4:43Speaker 3: watched the dance part knowing that I'm not the greatest dancer,
- 4:46Speaker 3: and they're like, we're still going to hire you, and
- 4:48Speaker 3: you're still going to do a dance number.
- 4:49Speaker 4: They saw something start the party saw something.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yes, starts at the body.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Well, anyway, cut to eighteen years later, and here we
- 4:59Speaker 2: are really of Camp Rock three, which we produced alongside
- 5:03Speaker 2: our friends over at Disney and really got to do
- 5:06Speaker 2: the thing that was most exciting for me on this project,
- 5:08Speaker 2: which was putting together a group of absolutely you know,
- 5:14Speaker 2: just incredibly talented young people to take the incredible the
- 5:18Speaker 2: torch and uh kind of usher in a new generation
- 5:22Speaker 2: of camp Rockers.
- 5:24Speaker 3: And this cast is just amazing.
- 5:25Speaker 2: In this fact, it's been incredible already just to see
- 5:29Speaker 2: all of their their profiles and everything just exploding as
- 5:31Speaker 2: the promotion. But the movie's begun and it's just gonna
- 5:34Speaker 2: be you know, even more massive ones once people have
- 5:37Speaker 2: seen the movie on Disney Plus, which you can watch
- 5:40Speaker 2: right here click over from this platform, or you know
- 5:42Speaker 2: now we're on Hulu as well.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Guys, Yes, you can like, oh, you're watching us, listening
- 5:47Speaker 3: to us.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yeah, but we have some of the casts here today
- 5:50Speaker 2: from the film, and they're gonna they're gonna share some
- 5:53Speaker 2: of their their Camp Rock stories.
- 5:55Speaker 3: We're gonna get all the info. It's gonna be a
- 5:57Speaker 3: lot all the tea. We're asked hard hitting questions, hard
- 6:01Speaker 3: hitting questions. That's what we're known for here, is it. Yeah,
- 6:06Speaker 3: that's the kind of questions should you ask? Like to start,
- 6:08Speaker 3: I have a list, keV. I don't know if you
- 6:10Speaker 3: got this too. I did. Oh yeah. Why should we
- 6:14Speaker 3: bring him in? I think we should.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Our first guest play Sage and Fletch in the film
- 6:19Speaker 2: Camp Rock three, played by Malakay Barton Leaman Cigaret.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Here's a clip of them in the film. Now and then,
- 6:27Speaker 3: we're gonna bring him on out.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Most days, High Spy.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Says high I'm back.
- 6:37Speaker 6: And insecure.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Best.
- 6:43Speaker 6: I'm still struggling with the lyrics.
- 6:46Speaker 3: She gotta have fun with it. You make it sound
- 6:50Speaker 3: so easy.
- 6:56Speaker 7: All right, just so you know, all of this isn't
- 6:59Speaker 7: good to distract me, all right, I'm in it to
- 7:01Speaker 7: win it, So.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Congratulations guys. You guys are no strangers, supremieeres So tonight's
- 7:09Speaker 4: not a big deal.
- 7:10Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, it's going to be so sick.
- 7:12Speaker 9: Obviously it's not strangers, but also like still, I'm just excited.
- 7:17Speaker 2: It's been a crazy month already of promo between camp
- 7:22Speaker 2: rock stuff getting going, but also sentenced.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Most absolutely.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Yeah Disney uh franchises, How does how does that feel?
- 7:33Speaker 3: Already?
- 7:33Speaker 7: It feels so honestly so crazy. I like have to
- 7:38Speaker 7: pinch myself every day, like God is so good, and
- 7:40Speaker 7: I think it just feels so unreal. You know, it
- 7:43Speaker 7: feels very special to be a part of all these
- 7:45Speaker 7: franchises though, because you know, I'm going to be a
- 7:47Speaker 7: part of all these this new generation's childhood and that
- 7:50Speaker 7: means so much to me. So I know how much
- 7:52Speaker 7: you know, the movies meant to me growing up, and
- 7:54Speaker 7: so now that I'm going to be a part of
- 7:55Speaker 7: it's just it feels so wild.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I love it.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's it's crazy for us. As as
- 8:01Speaker 2: we mentioned on set to to be you know, looking
- 8:04Speaker 2: at all of you and seeing how tremendously talented you are,
- 8:06Speaker 2: but but really carrying the torch and introducing a whole
- 8:10Speaker 2: new generation to something that you know, we loved being
- 8:13Speaker 2: a part of and that we look back at now
- 8:15Speaker 2: with with such nostalgia and gratitude. Malchi for you, I mean,
- 8:20Speaker 2: stepping into to this role after having already been in
- 8:24Speaker 2: so many beloved films with Disney and and and taking
- 8:30Speaker 2: this on. Was there was there any pressure about the
- 8:32Speaker 2: camp Rock franchise? Were you aware of it before you
- 8:35Speaker 2: you signed on to.
- 8:35Speaker 8: Do oh, one hundred percent?
- 8:36Speaker 3: I was aware.
- 8:37Speaker 8: I think that I've said this before.
- 8:38Speaker 9: I think that the camp Rock franchise is like something
- 8:39Speaker 9: that's just like automatically embedded into your childhood no matter what.
- 8:43Speaker 8: I love that, and I ye take it.
- 8:45Speaker 3: It's great.
- 8:46Speaker 8: It's so great. And you told him to say that,
- 8:48Speaker 8: Yeah he did.
- 8:49Speaker 3: He paid me right before I came on exactly say
- 8:52Speaker 3: this please.
- 8:52Speaker 9: But I mean I think that I for a second
- 8:55Speaker 9: I was like, oh, is there going to be pressure?
- 8:56Speaker 9: But honestly, I just want to like say thank you
- 8:58Speaker 9: to you guys for making it feel like there was
- 8:59Speaker 9: no pressure, because it was like you guys could have
- 9:01Speaker 9: so easily been like this is our baby, and this
- 9:04Speaker 9: is like we've created this and this has been our
- 9:06Speaker 9: thing and like have to do it. You guys have
- 9:08Speaker 9: to But you guys gave us a space to create
- 9:09Speaker 9: and make it our own in a way, and so
- 9:11Speaker 9: I just want to say thank you to that and
- 9:12Speaker 9: like make it made it feel like there was no pressure,
- 9:14Speaker 9: but obviously there's the like, oh, shoot.
- 9:16Speaker 8: We're making camp rock again, a little bit of pressure.
- 9:18Speaker 8: It was pressure.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Well.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Hearing Malachai with Tomorrow and Leamani with One Beat Away
- 9:23Speaker 4: for the first time, I was we were getting, you know,
- 9:25Speaker 4: going through the production process and hearing your versions of it,
- 9:28Speaker 4: and I was just like, Okay, it's gonna work.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Yes, so good, it's so good. Have you seen the
- 9:34Speaker 3: film yet? We have nice? It was so great.
- 9:38Speaker 8: Have you guys seen the film?
- 9:40Speaker 4: We did an early premiere in my house with my girls,
- 9:43Speaker 4: so we watch all sleepover for full huge like blowout
- 9:47Speaker 4: sleepover for the for the Descendants film, decorations, the whole thing.
- 9:51Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Our daughter watched it too, actually, most recently on vacation.
- 9:54Speaker 2: It's kind of one of her first live action.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Movies and she she just loved it. Sends camp Rock,
- 10:00Speaker 3: camp Rock.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And what's been so fun to see too is all
- 10:04Speaker 2: the reaction online before the movie came out. You know,
- 10:07Speaker 2: it's on Disney Plus when you can watch here, but
- 10:10Speaker 2: people flipping out about the new songs, but also some
- 10:13Speaker 2: of the songs that were a part of the original
- 10:14Speaker 2: film play my Music being one of those.
- 10:16Speaker 3: And and for.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Us we Rock, which was incredibly hard to sing as
- 10:21Speaker 2: a a now grown man.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Whoa, it just happens us, It just happens, guess.
- 10:31Speaker 2: But some of those reactions are are are you know,
- 10:34Speaker 2: so great to see parents watching with their kids?
- 10:39Speaker 3: It's full circle? So have your parents watched the movie?
- 10:43Speaker 6: Of course?
- 10:44Speaker 7: We're like such big fans, Like literally it was played
- 10:47Speaker 7: all the time when I was growing up, Like every
- 10:49Speaker 7: time I would come home from school, turn on Disney
- 10:51Speaker 7: Channel and that would be the movie that would turn on.
- 10:53Speaker 7: And we're fans.
- 10:55Speaker 3: We're big fans. Love and Malco. Your mom auditioned for
- 10:59Speaker 3: American Idol? Is that correct?
- 11:00Speaker 7: Yeah? My mom?
- 11:01Speaker 9: So, my mom was on American Idol for I forget.
- 11:04Speaker 9: Was it like top up until top ten? She's right there?
- 11:07Speaker 8: Okay, okay, okay, she's okay.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Do we make it to Hollywood.
- 11:10Speaker 8: Okay, you know she works on now, she works on
- 11:14Speaker 8: American Idol.
- 11:15Speaker 3: She's but if you work on American Idle, now, oh cool,
- 11:18Speaker 3: I love it. That's great.
- 11:19Speaker 9: That was my little like, that's my little connection to
- 11:21Speaker 9: the singing world. She's like the goat, she's so chill.
- 11:24Speaker 9: I love my mom.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Was there ever, like American Idol dreams for yourself? Were
- 11:28Speaker 3: you like thinking maybe I'll do this?
- 11:29Speaker 9: I acting was maybe maybe, But I was also like,
- 11:32Speaker 9: that's my mom's sing Like let my mom, Like, that's
- 11:34Speaker 9: my mom's thing. She's like the singer and she has
- 11:36Speaker 9: a great voice. So it's like I'm just gonna let
- 11:37Speaker 9: her do her thing. And then I went into the
- 11:39Speaker 9: acting world, and then like the musical stuff started happening.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I was like, oh, shoot, does that mean that there's
- 11:44Speaker 4: more independent music coming from you guys?
- 11:49Speaker 7: I mean yeah, you can always definitely expect. I'm actually
- 11:53Speaker 7: working on my album, my first album. Okay, it's crazy crazy.
- 11:58Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean I've always like acting first, but I
- 12:00Speaker 9: also think I just like I trust God's playing, like
- 12:03Speaker 9: that's all I can do. And like if I think
- 12:04Speaker 9: there's something so special about giving everything to God and
- 12:07Speaker 9: just trusting him with everything, so like what happens happens.
- 12:10Speaker 3: You know what I mean. Cool, that's awesome, that's yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 3: I love it. Well, we'll be excited for music from
- 12:14Speaker 3: you then both of you.
- 12:17Speaker 7: Exit.
- 12:17Speaker 4: One thing you guys definitely can do better than we can, though,
- 12:19Speaker 4: is dance.
- 12:20Speaker 8: Oh okay, Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 3: It's very impressive in the film.
- 12:25Speaker 8: That's so sweet. Yeah, Oh my gosh.
- 12:26Speaker 7: The choreo for this movie, for Camp Brock three dude intense.
- 12:30Speaker 8: Jamal was putting it going, like putting in extra hours.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Process because ours was non existent.
- 12:35Speaker 8: Our rearsal processes were very different. I mean mine, I
- 12:38Speaker 8: was on tour. I was doing the world Big tour.
- 12:41Speaker 3: That was happening last year. Yeah, I may have gone.
- 12:44Speaker 8: You may have gone. I may have seen you tell.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Everybody at home, and if they didn't, they don't know
- 12:47Speaker 3: what you guys were talking about. What's the tour that
- 12:49Speaker 3: you're talking about?
- 12:49Speaker 8: Yeah, so I did.
- 12:50Speaker 9: We're doing another tour together this coming summer and it's
- 12:53Speaker 9: the World's Collide Tour.
- 12:54Speaker 8: It's Descendants, Zombies and Camp Rock.
- 12:56Speaker 9: That's this year. And then last year we did sen
- 13:00Speaker 9: It's in zombies. But yeah, it was it was it
- 13:02Speaker 9: was wild.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Is it like zombies attack the camp and then like
- 13:06Speaker 3: basically honestly like medieval Times a little bit, we're just.
- 13:11Speaker 8: All battling on stage.
- 13:12Speaker 2: We do need a Avengers style. I think Camp bractice
- 13:17Speaker 2: in zombie movie.
- 13:18Speaker 8: I think that would be sick Cross all like.
- 13:21Speaker 2: But there's just one problem is that when you're in
- 13:23Speaker 2: multiple franchises, we have to figure out a way to
- 13:25Speaker 2: it's the multiverse.
- 13:27Speaker 9: You know what if there was like a screenplay and
- 13:29Speaker 9: it was like World's Glide and we had to do
- 13:30Speaker 9: quick changes into different characters, that would be let's pitch.
- 13:33Speaker 8: Let's pitch it.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Come on, this is expensive, I know.
- 13:39Speaker 8: At that Do you just have like the time of
- 13:40Speaker 8: your life with that thing right there?
- 13:41Speaker 3: I have just I was just like carry this stor
- 13:44Speaker 3: I wish it worked like this in real life. It
- 13:46Speaker 3: just happens in the Wings. There's quite a few. There's
- 13:49Speaker 3: a new.
- 13:51Speaker 6: She's really good.
- 13:52Speaker 8: Oh, I like that.
- 13:53Speaker 3: What's your favorite one, Demmi? It changes all the time.
- 13:56Speaker 3: My favorite one is.
- 13:58Speaker 8: That one's good.
- 13:59Speaker 3: That's word that. That's usually when there's an argument between
- 14:01Speaker 3: these guys. Shane great for crying out loud.
- 14:04Speaker 10: I like that a lot.
- 14:05Speaker 8: I liked that a lot.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Some drama, class drama we got off track for So
- 14:10Speaker 2: you were rehearsing while you were on tour.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Yeah, playing double duty.
- 14:13Speaker 9: Yeah. They had hired one of the dancers that were
- 14:15Speaker 9: on tour, and Jamal was sending all the choreos. I
- 14:17Speaker 9: was because I was obviously on tour during pre production.
- 14:19Speaker 9: I wasn't able to make it out until we literally
- 14:21Speaker 9: started filming.
- 14:21Speaker 4: So then I was like, well, we ran into each
- 14:23Speaker 4: other and I looked at him backstage he was They
- 14:25Speaker 4: were so kind, the entire cast on this the live show,
- 14:29Speaker 4: met the met our daughters and took some pit photos.
- 14:31Speaker 4: And I've never seen my girls blush the way they
- 14:34Speaker 4: blushed when I met you and watched you on this movie.
- 14:37Speaker 4: I'm not comfortable with it, but it was a great moment.
- 14:39Speaker 4: You didn't feel so special, but you kind of looked
- 14:41Speaker 4: at me and was like so, And I was like,
- 14:44Speaker 4: obviously I knew that you had been cast in camera, Yeah,
- 14:47Speaker 4: but none of the other cast of the tour, you know.
- 14:50Speaker 9: And You're just like looking at it, communicate I know something.
- 14:53Speaker 3: You know something.
- 14:53Speaker 4: You hung back and got so excited a little after,
- 14:55Speaker 4: but it was a good like we know that.
- 14:58Speaker 3: It's a fun question. Then I mean, I guess where
- 15:00Speaker 3: were you guys when you got the call You're like, hey,
- 15:02Speaker 3: you're gonna you made it. You're gonna be or they
- 15:04Speaker 3: offered or the audition. I'm not sure how the process
- 15:06Speaker 3: went for you guys.
- 15:06Speaker 7: I was actually I was in the car with my mom.
- 15:09Speaker 8: We were in the mountains.
- 15:10Speaker 7: I had like no service, and I get the call
- 15:12Speaker 7: from my manager and she sounds like super bummed. She's like, hey, like,
- 15:16Speaker 7: Disney want to let you know they're really proud of
- 15:18Speaker 7: you and they're happy you came in and.
- 15:20Speaker 3: You got the role.
- 15:21Speaker 7: And I remember like screaming, burst into tears, fan girling,
- 15:25Speaker 7: all the things at once.
- 15:27Speaker 8: But yeah, I was. I was in. I was in
- 15:29Speaker 8: the middle of intermission. I was literally in the middle.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Intermission.
- 15:34Speaker 8: I am was like, Yo, You're never gonna believe this.
- 15:37Speaker 3: You're going on was literally exactly you're going to Canada.
- 15:41Speaker 8: I know I was going to Canada.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Well, before you go, we we on our on our show,
- 15:46Speaker 3: Hey Jonas, we always have this bowl of questions that
- 15:49Speaker 3: we don't know what they are. If you guys are
- 15:50Speaker 3: willing to participate with.
- 15:51Speaker 8: I would love to participate.
- 15:52Speaker 3: I think camp themed whatever that camed did you guys?
- 15:56Speaker 8: I would love to answer you, okay, and I'll sure.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I love that so sick name? Do you want to go first?
- 16:07Speaker 9: Do it?
- 16:07Speaker 3: I'll go first.
- 16:09Speaker 7: In camp rock Shane Gray works at the camp as
- 16:13Speaker 7: an instructor. Which famous musician or artist would you hire
- 16:16Speaker 7: to work at your camp?
- 16:17Speaker 10: That?
- 16:18Speaker 7: Wait, that's crazy, I'm just kidding, that's kind of that's
- 16:22Speaker 7: a good that's a good one.
- 16:25Speaker 8: This is really good.
- 16:28Speaker 3: She's really good. But she's really I don't know, really
- 16:32Speaker 3: good things to help you, probably.
- 16:36Speaker 7: Like arian.
- 16:39Speaker 3: A famous, like pop star or something. She's very good
- 16:42Speaker 3: at music. I could teach us all their tips and.
- 16:43Speaker 8: Tricks, just like working your whistle notes whistle.
- 16:48Speaker 9: Literally fair Alright, okay, okay, let's do it. Oh, you're
- 16:54Speaker 9: in charge of wake up music every morning? What's your pick?
- 16:58Speaker 9: I feel like they're hearing, like.
- 17:01Speaker 8: What are they here?
- 17:02Speaker 9: Like, dude, I like this is like a niche pick.
- 17:06Speaker 9: But I'm gonna say like I'm gonna say, like, could
- 17:09Speaker 9: you imagine like just hearing Gyra by Maverick City Music
- 17:12Speaker 9: just like playing or like Firm Foundation or something like that.
- 17:15Speaker 3: That'd be lit solid.
- 17:16Speaker 8: I feel like that'd just be like super dope.
- 17:18Speaker 9: That's great Tennessee Whiskey or Broken Halo's or something like that.
- 17:22Speaker 8: Basically my playlist and we can open the camp.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Up with that. All right, should play your whole playlist.
- 17:27Speaker 8: Play the whole playlist.
- 17:28Speaker 10: I like it.
- 17:28Speaker 3: There we go later. Well, thank you guys so much
- 17:31Speaker 3: for hanging out with us.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Amazing Malachai and Leimani awesome, so good, superstars, superstars, just incredible.
- 17:40Speaker 3: They just got it. Their star rising. It's gonna be. Yeah,
- 17:44Speaker 3: they're gonna be in many, many movies to come. I'm
- 17:46Speaker 3: excited to hear their music too. And whatever music that
- 17:49Speaker 3: Malachi said he wasn't, but we're going to not he's
- 17:51Speaker 3: going to release. You know. It was very mysterious because
- 17:54Speaker 3: I'm working on a project with him right now. Oh gotcha?
- 17:56Speaker 3: You signed him separately? I signed him. Yeah, Oh he
- 17:59Speaker 3: doesn't know, you'd get he doesn't know yet or he
- 18:02Speaker 3: doesn't know. Or agents and managers. Speaking of agents and managers,
- 18:05Speaker 3: speaking of agents and managers. Great segue. Kevin's agent and
- 18:09Speaker 3: manager is next, actually the Connects three manager. That's right.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Her new character a character unlocked and classic character continued.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Mario was in the first to U camp Rocks. She
- 18:23Speaker 2: of course is Mitchie's mother, but also now the owner
- 18:27Speaker 2: and operator of Camp Rock, and we find her in
- 18:29Speaker 2: Camp Rock three.
- 18:30Speaker 3: It there's a lot of mysterious mystery about her. I
- 18:33Speaker 3: want to know all the lore, like the how did
- 18:36Speaker 3: she get the camp? I think she has a backstory.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Let's talk to her about it. Please, pleads and gentlemen,
- 18:41Speaker 3: please make some noise for Seri, Cola and Maria.
- 18:45Speaker 5: Family and friends the group chat Hello here we are.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Sounds like quick.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Stand or you need a pillow on the back.
- 18:55Speaker 3: There for our first live audience, we wanted it only
- 18:57Speaker 3: family and friends. Yes, exact, really warm audience. Okay, Lock
- 19:03Speaker 3: the doors will be interviewing exactly. Well, thank you for
- 19:05Speaker 3: being on the pod. This is very exciting to have
- 19:07Speaker 3: you both a part of this and obviously this is
- 19:11Speaker 3: you know, stranger to Camp Rock. Yeah, so it feels
- 19:14Speaker 3: great to have you back. I think we should show
- 19:16Speaker 3: a clip of Maria in Camp Rock three. Now you
- 19:19Speaker 3: can't rock. Let me ask you something.
- 19:24Speaker 11: Who's running for the best summer ever?
- 19:27Speaker 9: Woo.
- 19:29Speaker 11: I'm Knnie Torres, camp director and yes, Mitchie's mom. This
- 19:36Speaker 11: camp change Mitchie's life and now I run it, which
- 19:40Speaker 11: means I get a chance to watch it.
- 19:41Speaker 8: Change yours.
- 19:44Speaker 11: A couple quick rules.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Most important, no phones?
- 19:50Speaker 11: I know, I know, but Camp Rock is better face
- 19:54Speaker 11: to face than screen to screen. Trust me. You know
- 19:58Speaker 11: when I look out at all of you, all I
- 20:01Speaker 11: can think about is all the talent that has come
- 20:03Speaker 11: through Camp Rock. Legends are made here, and I know
- 20:09Speaker 11: that this.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Summer will be no different.
- 20:13Speaker 8: Yeah that was so fun.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it was incredible. We also have a clip of
- 20:18Speaker 3: our different Charychilo as well. Oh yeah, now, yes.
- 20:21Speaker 5: But little miss Lark it looks a lot nicer th.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Mark.
- 20:27Speaker 5: Oh hey, guys, sorry, I can't really talk right now.
- 20:31Speaker 5: You have me producing Final Jam, which is like a
- 20:33Speaker 5: billion tiny shows in one on a summer camp's budget.
- 20:35Speaker 3: So we're pretty familiar with the Final chamis.
- 20:38Speaker 5: Well, get ready for my final Jam.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Lark? You let your hair down literally?
- 20:44Speaker 5: How nice of you don't notice? Jason, I have bug
- 20:47Speaker 5: bites on my bug bites and a lot to discuss
- 20:50Speaker 5: with my therapist. You'll be getting the invoice.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Oh, come on, you're gonna miss this place, you know
- 20:55Speaker 3: you are.
- 20:56Speaker 5: I guess the songs are kind of catchy, you know, how,
- 20:58Speaker 5: don't have time for this. I'm busy I'll see you later,
- 21:01Speaker 5: don't be late.
- 21:02Speaker 3: I saw that smile. Maybe fair enough, Probably not. How
- 21:07Speaker 3: many bug bites.
- 21:09Speaker 5: Are has never been more vulnerable mosquito bites.
- 21:14Speaker 3: On your mosquito bites. It just looks so much like
- 21:17Speaker 3: newer than Camp Rock. It just looks so much the
- 21:21Speaker 3: first shot on a potato. I think, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 3: And it's just funny to see now Camp Rock three.
- 21:28Speaker 3: We were just saying while we're watching the first clip,
- 21:30Speaker 3: taking away their cell phones it was never really a
- 21:31Speaker 3: problem in Camp Rock one or two.
- 21:33Speaker 11: No, Yeah, it's like camp is more important than ever
- 21:35Speaker 11: now because that's where you make real connections and it's
- 21:40Speaker 11: it's just a different time, a different world.
- 21:42Speaker 3: So it really is.
- 21:43Speaker 11: I love that that was in there, that we addressed
- 21:45Speaker 11: that the importance of really relating and then they're disappointed,
- 21:48Speaker 11: and then they're so happy at the end because they
- 21:50Speaker 11: had real connection with real living people.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Yeah, making memories.
- 21:53Speaker 4: You know, do we actually take their phones away for
- 21:56Speaker 4: the entire production?
- 21:56Speaker 3: Though we did.
- 21:59Speaker 5: Still guy, by the way, we haven't given it back yet.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Y again. I guess for you, Maria like stepping back
- 22:06Speaker 3: into a familiar role a new role, because I think
- 22:09Speaker 3: we're just before you got out. We're trying to kind
- 22:11Speaker 3: of understand you became the the person that runs Camp ro.
- 22:16Speaker 11: That's right, Camp Director.
- 22:18Speaker 3: I love that.
- 22:18Speaker 11: I love that they gave me that arc that I
- 22:20Speaker 11: started as a self sacrificing mom who wanted to make
- 22:24Speaker 11: her her daughter's dreams come true and was willing to
- 22:26Speaker 11: work in the kitchen and for a discounted rate. You're
- 22:29Speaker 11: going to Camp Rock the famous line. And then I
- 22:32Speaker 11: come back and we're still working. And then even though
- 22:35Speaker 11: Mitchie is now a big superstar like Demi, she still
- 22:39Speaker 11: cares about the place where dreams came true. It's not
- 22:42Speaker 11: just about her kids. She wants to be there for
- 22:44Speaker 11: other kids. That's so beautiful and I love as a
- 22:46Speaker 11: real mom. I love to see other moms that love
- 22:49Speaker 11: on all kids, not just their own. I always would
- 22:51Speaker 11: notice that when a mom would love, support and encourage
- 22:55Speaker 11: my child, it's just a beautiful thing. So I love
- 22:58Speaker 11: that about Connie. I love being Connie.
- 23:01Speaker 8: I love seeing you guys again.
- 23:03Speaker 11: So I got a real.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Scene you went there on day one, Like when we
- 23:06Speaker 4: showed up and you were standing on the Final Jam
- 23:08Speaker 4: Final Jam stage at on the Lake, it was just like, Okay.
- 23:12Speaker 3: That was kind of emotional. I remember like it was weird,
- 23:15Speaker 3: even though it was a different location. I mean, technically
- 23:17Speaker 3: we shot the first one somewhere else, but it was
- 23:19Speaker 3: like this wave of you know, after reading the script
- 23:22Speaker 3: and being a part of the production, thinking of all
- 23:24Speaker 3: the things we're gonna do, and meeting the cast, and
- 23:27Speaker 3: then once we saw you up there, I was like,
- 23:29Speaker 3: oh man, that was all brought back to us. It
- 23:32Speaker 3: was really great and obviously so awesome Cherry. Having a
- 23:34Speaker 3: part of this has been a blast. Yeah, and you know,
- 23:37Speaker 3: every dysfunctional band needs a manager.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Listen, Mark is hanging on by a thread. You know
- 23:42Speaker 5: what I'm saying, She's two phones, two coffees. Am I
- 23:45Speaker 5: even acting? But it was such a delight, honestly just
- 23:49Speaker 5: playing with all of you, especially that first day, because
- 23:52Speaker 5: right now people are craving that nostalgia. They want to
- 23:54Speaker 5: feel good and then they want to go back to
- 23:56Speaker 5: like a really just joyous time. And I feel like
- 24:00Speaker 5: this movie is really going to deliver, and it's so cinematic,
- 24:03Speaker 5: it's elevated. Ronica Rodriguez shout out to our director.
- 24:08Speaker 3: Who you've been longtime friends with.
- 24:10Speaker 5: Yes, yes, we met at Funnier die in twenty seventy.
- 24:13Speaker 3: So that's how we actually got you, got I got it,
- 24:14Speaker 3: got ye.
- 24:15Speaker 5: No. But honestly, we've just been like creative soul sisters
- 24:18Speaker 5: on this journey. So to be able to you know,
- 24:20Speaker 5: come alive through Camp Rock three is a dream come true.
- 24:24Speaker 11: I knew we were in good hands. Yeah, And when
- 24:26Speaker 11: I saw you guys, the same thing happened to me
- 24:28Speaker 11: where I got a little like because you're all daddy's
- 24:32Speaker 11: now too, your dad, So I'm like, wait, these guys
- 24:34Speaker 11: were teenagers and I and I noticed that we all
- 24:37Speaker 11: have girls.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Yeah, you're all girl dad.
- 24:40Speaker 2: So far through the second movie, I think your your
- 24:44Speaker 2: daughters were tiny, I mean were they were my daughter's
- 24:48Speaker 2: age now I think.
- 24:49Speaker 3: Yes, it's wild.
- 24:50Speaker 11: Yeah, that was so And I remember how sweet you
- 24:52Speaker 11: guys were to my little girls, who are now Bridges
- 24:55Speaker 11: twenty three and Madeline's going to be twenty one, crazy
- 24:58Speaker 11: and it's just wild. Were so sweet to them, not
- 25:02Speaker 11: just their teen fans, but even their little fans.
- 25:05Speaker 3: You you encouraged her and what.
- 25:07Speaker 11: To sing because she's a singer. And I remember Bridget
- 25:11Speaker 11: interrupted an interview you did, and.
- 25:12Speaker 3: You were so sweet to her. You weren't like, who's
- 25:14Speaker 3: this kid.
- 25:15Speaker 11: In my way? He wasn't like that at all.
- 25:17Speaker 3: He was like some character.
- 25:20Speaker 11: Oh you were you were great for crying out loud,
- 25:23Speaker 11: this is part of my act.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Well, it's been so fun obviously to be to watch
- 25:27Speaker 3: leaving this young new gen And I'm curious, like for you, Maria,
- 25:33Speaker 3: like being on set, did you find yourself seeing any
- 25:36Speaker 3: similarities to the original casts. Oh yeah, they were like,
- 25:39Speaker 3: oh I see it. I see talent totally.
- 25:42Speaker 11: I mean, if Disney knows something, it's how to find
- 25:45Speaker 11: young talent. And it was us amazing, amazing, Yes, of
- 25:49Speaker 11: course I see Demi and Leamani and.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I saw.
- 25:54Speaker 11: I think they actually had even more characters have their
- 25:56Speaker 11: own little storyline thanks to Edie's script, which is terrific.
- 26:02Speaker 11: And I love that because there's a little bit of
- 26:04Speaker 11: something and every character that I think a lot of
- 26:06Speaker 11: young people will identify with, you know, those those struggles
- 26:09Speaker 11: that are so important to us during that developmental stage
- 26:13Speaker 11: and everything matters so much.
- 26:14Speaker 3: My crush, my career, right you know. Yeah, and uh I.
- 26:19Speaker 5: Didn't reading my diary.
- 26:22Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 26:23Speaker 5: The dynamics now with the friendships and the chemistry, everyone
- 26:26Speaker 5: is like we love each other honestly, did.
- 26:29Speaker 11: You guys know when you did it how much it
- 26:33Speaker 11: was going to be loved? Did you get a sense at.
- 26:35Speaker 3: All that your big I think movie Break was going
- 26:37Speaker 3: to be such a hit. I mean, we knew, we
- 26:39Speaker 3: had no idea. I mean we obviously we were we
- 26:43Speaker 3: were touring at the time. I mean when Camp ro
- 26:46Speaker 3: was being made, kind of took a break from touring
- 26:48Speaker 3: for the first time in a couple of years. And
- 26:51Speaker 3: there wasn't as much social media when we first started
- 26:54Speaker 3: with camp Rockpace, So it was just kind of bubbling
- 26:59Speaker 3: in the States because Disney started playing our music videos
- 27:01Speaker 3: and Diney Channel, and so by the time the movie
- 27:05Speaker 3: came out, it was the reception was just wild, and
- 27:07Speaker 3: it was an interesting like high school class because that
- 27:11Speaker 3: was Zach and Vanessa in the high school musical cast.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Zach and Cody was a popular show at the time.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Trying to think there's and it's just there's so many great,
- 27:20Speaker 3: kind of amazing vocalists and dancers and singers. It's really wild.
- 27:24Speaker 3: So to answer your question, were we had no idea?
- 27:27Speaker 11: No? Do you think that's why you guys were so
- 27:29Speaker 11: good because you were so relaxed and having fun.
- 27:32Speaker 3: I think we just didn't know what we were doing.
- 27:35Speaker 3: We didn't any other way.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I still don't, but I think, you know, the moment
- 27:39Speaker 2: we kind of realized that Disney really understands how to
- 27:44Speaker 2: how to to do a global event was after the
- 27:50Speaker 2: second movie came out. We were we were touring in
- 27:52Speaker 2: parts of the world where English wasn't the first language
- 27:55Speaker 2: and they would know a majority of our songs as
- 27:56Speaker 2: the Jonas Brothers, but when we would go into the
- 27:58Speaker 2: camp Rock songs, the would know every single word because
- 28:01Speaker 2: they've been, you know, learning English in a lot of
- 28:03Speaker 2: ways because of it is so cool, or you know,
- 28:06Speaker 2: just consuming it into different ways.
- 28:08Speaker 3: And that was a really powerful thing for us. Yeah,
- 28:11Speaker 3: that's how far the reaches.
- 28:12Speaker 5: Yeah, camp Rock is a universal language. Seriously, Like you
- 28:15Speaker 5: can feel the impact and even you know, going to
- 28:18Speaker 5: your concert in Vancouver, oh so much to the fans
- 28:22Speaker 5: and to see you three like operate with so much gratitude,
- 28:27Speaker 5: and you know, it really was touching, touching the witness.
- 28:31Speaker 3: It was a fun show.
- 28:34Speaker 2: People don't know, listen, we're watching the pot We were
- 28:37Speaker 2: shooting in Vancouver Camp Rock three, and and it just
- 28:40Speaker 2: so happened that we also had a concert run that
- 28:41Speaker 2: same time.
- 28:42Speaker 5: In Vancouver.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Appropriately, and that nine we had m G K Out especially,
- 28:49Speaker 3: which was great. It's become just a great friend of ours.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Had you been to a show before that, I have yours.
- 28:56Speaker 5: I've been to Ara, I have not, and I highly
- 29:01Speaker 5: recommend it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was great the first timer,
- 29:06Speaker 5: certainly not the last, but yeah, it was just so
- 29:09Speaker 5: cool to see how highly anticipated this film is because
- 29:12Speaker 5: y'all like did a little shout out when you're on
- 29:15Speaker 5: stage and everyone went wild. And I even remember the
- 29:19Speaker 5: first day when we were filming that that scene of
- 29:21Speaker 5: Connie on the stage. There were fans like one hundred
- 29:26Speaker 5: yards away that found out where we were filming, and
- 29:29Speaker 5: I had no idea, but there were these videos of
- 29:32Speaker 5: us like zoomed in, like super pixelated, and everyone thought
- 29:36Speaker 5: I was Demi because of the dark hair videos and
- 29:40Speaker 5: like people were like, it's Demi and Jonas brothers because
- 29:43Speaker 5: I had a snatch phony and what an honor.
- 29:48Speaker 3: And then I signed up the graphs.
- 29:50Speaker 5: But it was just so surreal, you know, you see
- 29:53Speaker 5: how major this love.
- 29:55Speaker 4: That was really fun to see after the fact that
- 29:57Speaker 4: we were on set, like they had all those those
- 30:00Speaker 4: happens just in that area and people were just walking
- 30:03Speaker 4: through the set as if it was like real life camp.
- 30:05Speaker 3: If you saw it online, it was it's.
- 30:07Speaker 8: Like paparazzi on a canoe.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Yeah, they're just like hanging out. Sure.
- 30:11Speaker 2: You in the clip we showed, you mentioned the songs
- 30:14Speaker 2: really catchy and obviously you're in character. But do you
- 30:17Speaker 2: have a favorite song from Camp Brog.
- 30:19Speaker 8: Three from Camp Rock three?
- 30:20Speaker 5: Honey? You know what, Lark got to be a part
- 30:23Speaker 5: of a lot without spoiling too much, just with the challenges,
- 30:27Speaker 5: you know, So play my music was stuck in my head,
- 30:30Speaker 5: which is one of my favorite.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Things classic, My favorite things to see right now is
- 30:33Speaker 3: that people are some of the songs are being released
- 30:36Speaker 3: all the time and play my music, which is the
- 30:38Speaker 3: audition scene out of context. You don't know what's happening, right,
- 30:42Speaker 3: It's very funny. Yeah, and it's kind of like we
- 30:45Speaker 3: I like, I love it because we're kind of trolling
- 30:47Speaker 3: every the audience a little bit of rage bait. Yeah,
- 30:49Speaker 3: it's rage bait. It's fun to watch the people a prankankrank, Well,
- 30:54Speaker 3: it's a break song. I'm sorry you're saying, so play.
- 30:57Speaker 5: My music, I mean yeah, and also high key changing
- 31:02Speaker 5: Kevin Jonas, thank you. It's brilliant.
- 31:06Speaker 3: That's brilliant.
- 31:07Speaker 5: Emotional, okay, therapeutic, it is, yeah, very much, just real
- 31:14Speaker 5: quick as a little side side dish.
- 31:16Speaker 3: I appreciate that. Facts. Well, the pot we always have
- 31:19Speaker 3: our guests participate in the fun little game with that
- 31:21Speaker 3: we have here. We have a bowl in front of us.
- 31:23Speaker 3: There's bold questions if you're willing to protect there all
- 31:26Speaker 3: we don't know what they say. We haven't written them.
- 31:27Speaker 2: So if you don't like it, and then it's not
- 31:29Speaker 2: on us, okay, most.
- 31:32Speaker 5: Grab on all right, Hey, stay vigilant. That's a quote
- 31:37Speaker 5: from the movie that should be Merch. Is my family here?
- 31:40Speaker 6: Yeah, they are.
- 31:41Speaker 5: My mom's in the audience now visiting from saying hello, Hi, Hi, welcome.
- 31:47Speaker 5: We rolled deep around here.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Okay, what you got right?
- 31:50Speaker 8: You go first?
- 31:50Speaker 11: Which camp rock song are you singing first? At karaoke? Well,
- 31:54Speaker 11: it used to be too cool for you? Yeah, that's that's.
- 31:59Speaker 3: The older shoulder.
- 32:03Speaker 11: So now it has to be Leamani's current hit. Oh
- 32:06Speaker 11: what a song, because I can't get that out of
- 32:08Speaker 11: my head.
- 32:08Speaker 3: It's so good all over.
- 32:10Speaker 5: They're just these superstars back games working with them, like,
- 32:16Speaker 5: aren't you so inspired, like the future is.
- 32:18Speaker 11: Bright totally, you know, totally. And they're good kids.
- 32:22Speaker 5: So good, most important, gooder than me, that's for sure,
- 32:25Speaker 5: much better grammar. Yeah, if someone handed you the ox
- 32:29Speaker 5: Court on a bus ride to camp, what's the first
- 32:31Speaker 5: song you're playing? Camp?
- 32:33Speaker 3: Brock related or no anything?
- 32:35Speaker 5: He's doing Michelle Branch and Carlos Santana Game of Love.
- 32:40Speaker 5: She's right now.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Shout out to Michelle Branch.
- 32:44Speaker 5: I love her even though it was born in two
- 32:46Speaker 5: thousand and eight, right, my mom was into Michelle Branch.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Yeah, correct, Hey, mom, stick to the script. Thank you
- 32:55Speaker 3: for being on. Thank you so much excited than congratulations.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Y'all can't thank you so much around the movie.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Okay, okay, there are more casts we have, there's more
- 33:11Speaker 2: casts guests on the This is the most guests we've
- 33:13Speaker 2: ever had on the pod.
- 33:15Speaker 5: I know.
- 33:16Speaker 3: I will say when when we were wearing the producer hat,
- 33:20Speaker 3: I like that.
- 33:21Speaker 2: While putting this film together alongside our partner Spencer bermant At,
- 33:25Speaker 2: powered by Jonas, the casting process was was really fun, incredible,
- 33:31Speaker 2: you know, because all of the talent we were seeing
- 33:34Speaker 2: we were phenomenal, and there were there was obviously a
- 33:38Speaker 2: handful that that were just perfect for these roles, and
- 33:42Speaker 2: and some some people that we actually have some you know,
- 33:45Speaker 2: some mutual friends of it and different things, and it's
- 33:47Speaker 2: all just made sense, came together kind of beautifully. And
- 33:51Speaker 2: and these these performers have I think, you know, a
- 33:56Speaker 2: very promising future.
- 33:58Speaker 3: I'd say we.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Should show a clip now of Loomie, Hudson and Casey Yes,
- 34:04Speaker 2: and then bring them on out here.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Oh the clip?
- 34:09Speaker 5: Oh good, You guys are awake, Your twenty four hours
- 34:12Speaker 5: are up?
- 34:13Speaker 6: Is this real? Or am I still hallucinating?
- 34:15Speaker 7: This is very real?
- 34:16Speaker 3: You're done?
- 34:17Speaker 5: Final jam is tomorrow night. That means you have one
- 34:21Speaker 5: day left to work on your songs.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Don't waste it.
- 34:26Speaker 5: You know where to find me.
- 34:29Speaker 8: Is it weird that I'm kind of gonna miss this bus?
- 34:32Speaker 9: No weird? Same here.
- 34:37Speaker 12: So we make a pact.
- 34:38Speaker 7: Whatever happens, we stay in touch.
- 34:43Speaker 8: Great resort of business. Shot name.
- 34:49Speaker 3: How about Cliff and the Cliffhangers. Cliff, Well, thanks for
- 34:56Speaker 3: being on the pod. We're so excited. Yes, Camp Rock
- 34:59Speaker 3: three day, so exciting. The day, Big Day, pretty wild.
- 35:05Speaker 3: A lot of preparation going into this movie. Have you
- 35:08Speaker 3: guys been looking forward today? Quite a bit.
- 35:11Speaker 12: Yeah, I feel like this has been the most look
- 35:13Speaker 12: forward thing for a lot of us. Like, even in
- 35:15Speaker 12: the early stages of filming, we were like, what are
- 35:17Speaker 12: you looking forward to? What are you excited for? And
- 35:20Speaker 12: a lot of us were just like, I'm excited for
- 35:21Speaker 12: the premiere. So today's it's a big day.
- 35:23Speaker 13: Yeah, I definitely think that was one of the most
- 35:26Speaker 13: exciting days that we were looking forward to and for
- 35:29Speaker 13: everybody to see the movie and everything.
- 35:30Speaker 3: So yeah, we're just finally Well, Leo me were reading
- 35:33Speaker 3: this note and I I was so excited because we're like,
- 35:35Speaker 3: we got to talk about this, so please talk about
- 35:37Speaker 3: this jaguar experience because I'm reading this. Wow, we spent
- 35:41Speaker 3: ten months in the jungles of Mexico bonding with the jaguars.
- 35:43Speaker 12: That correct.
- 35:44Speaker 13: Yeah, actually I was not expecting for that to be
- 35:47Speaker 13: brought up here, but it's the first.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Thing in my notes. And enough about cam Rock. That's
- 35:52Speaker 3: so cool. Yeah.
- 35:54Speaker 13: When I was like about thirteen years old, I did
- 35:57Speaker 13: this movie called Autumn and the Black Jaguar, and I
- 36:01Speaker 13: imprinted with these two jaguars and they were about this
- 36:04Speaker 13: big when I met them, and I didn't really act
- 36:07Speaker 13: for eight months. I kind of just stayed in the
- 36:09Speaker 13: jungles of Mexico, and I trained with them and I
- 36:12Speaker 13: acted as their like mother almost and I worked with
- 36:15Speaker 13: animal wranglers and I got to watch them grow up
- 36:17Speaker 13: and then finally when they hit about eight months, they
- 36:20Speaker 13: were pretty much fully grown and we got to film
- 36:22Speaker 13: the movie with them.
- 36:23Speaker 8: Wow.
- 36:23Speaker 3: So cool. Yeah, that's insane.
- 36:25Speaker 13: Quite the experience and very different going to Disney after this,
- 36:29Speaker 13: I would say, yeah, exactly, I had to train and
- 36:34Speaker 13: wrangle these boys.
- 36:35Speaker 3: So yeah, moving this way, Hudson. This is your first
- 36:38Speaker 3: acting debut. Correct, It is a great kid, great job,
- 36:44Speaker 3: thank you. Yeah, And I guess it's you're not that
- 36:48Speaker 3: off like when it comes to acting in your family. Obviously,
- 36:51Speaker 3: it's long, beautiful credits in front of you. What is
- 36:54Speaker 3: that like me growing up at home? Do you ever
- 36:55Speaker 3: think acting was gonna be something you'd walk into or
- 36:57Speaker 3: is this kind of happened? It all just kind of happened.
- 37:00Speaker 12: And I feel my parents they're both obviously my dad
- 37:04Speaker 12: is in film and television, but just as himself and
- 37:06Speaker 12: more reality stuff, and my mom's an incredible actor. But
- 37:09Speaker 12: it was never set out for me to become an actor.
- 37:12Speaker 12: I never even knew I wanted to do it. I
- 37:14Speaker 12: just saw like people from her management agency. They were like,
- 37:18Speaker 12: we'd love Hudson audition because I've always done music. I've
- 37:20Speaker 12: always played the guitar, I've always sung. They're like, we
- 37:22Speaker 12: wanted to audition for stuff and a lot of Disney musicals,
- 37:25Speaker 12: and I was always like, Nah, not for me. I
- 37:26Speaker 12: don't really want to. It's not really my style, not
- 37:29Speaker 12: my thing. And then they sent over Camp Rock and
- 37:32Speaker 12: like one other thing, and I'm like, oh, these are
- 37:33Speaker 12: so cool. I remember I watched Camp Rock as a kid, like,
- 37:35Speaker 12: you know, I'll audition for this one. I auditioned for
- 37:38Speaker 12: three roles, Fletch, Cliff, and DESSI. I ended up with
- 37:42Speaker 12: my old DESI. But yeah, it's pretty insane to be
- 37:45Speaker 12: here at least a little over year. It's like three
- 37:48Speaker 12: hundred and seventy days after this all started. But it's insane. Wow,
- 37:52Speaker 12: And who's counting?
- 37:53Speaker 3: That's cool, that's well, congrats, that's really exciting. And Casey,
- 37:57Speaker 3: I guess you know you're no stranger to a stage. Yeah, right,
- 38:00Speaker 3: tell us about that experience for you because you've done
- 38:02Speaker 3: a lot of theater performances.
- 38:04Speaker 8: Correct.
- 38:05Speaker 10: Yeah, so back when I was around like four years old.
- 38:07Speaker 10: I started drumming and I really fell in love with music,
- 38:10Speaker 10: and I thought that was what I was gonna do
- 38:12Speaker 10: for like my whole life. I was like, I'm gonna
- 38:14Speaker 10: go on tour. I'm gonna be a drummer of a
- 38:16Speaker 10: metal band. My dad got me into metal and that
- 38:19Speaker 10: was one of my thing when I was a kid.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Shout out, dad, I like that, what kind of metal?
- 38:23Speaker 3: Any artists? You can say thing?
- 38:25Speaker 10: I went my first concert. I went to Iron Maiden
- 38:28Speaker 10: and I was six seven something like that. And then
- 38:34Speaker 10: I went and saw a Slipknot and I saw Mu Suga,
- 38:38Speaker 10: Swedish metal band.
- 38:39Speaker 8: So great, My favorite drummer is part of them.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Yeah, so you play the drums in this, in this,
- 38:43Speaker 4: in this movie as well? Yeah, is that something that
- 38:46Speaker 4: you've always had a passion for.
- 38:47Speaker 10: I couldn't really like vision my life without it, Like
- 38:50Speaker 10: I started playing. My dad actually before I was born,
- 38:54Speaker 10: he bought a drum set because he's like, I need
- 38:56Speaker 10: a hobby to pick up. So you bought this electric
- 38:58Speaker 10: remode like drum kits. He bought this and over he
- 39:02Speaker 10: didn't he never played it, but he had sticks there.
- 39:04Speaker 10: And when I was two years old, I just picked
- 39:05Speaker 10: them up started playing, and once I was four, I
- 39:08Speaker 10: was playing with an instructor. And then at six I
- 39:12Speaker 10: started playing shows like local shows, which brought me to
- 39:18Speaker 10: like a nice band program in Vancouver where I got
- 39:20Speaker 10: to tour around Vancouver and play a lot of really
- 39:22Speaker 10: cool events. And that brought me to Camp Rock and
- 39:25Speaker 10: to doing some community theater too.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Yeah, very cool, so cool. It's amazing.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Guys.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Yeah you were you guys, were you in school during production?
- 39:33Speaker 13: Yeah, well, we were doing online or homeschool, but we
- 39:37Speaker 13: were all in school together.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Yeah, because that was the thing when we were shooting
- 39:41Speaker 2: our Camp Rocks. Back the day we were homeschool, we
- 39:44Speaker 2: were touring, so we never really like studied with other people.
- 39:47Speaker 2: And then I remember feeling so excited that I was
- 39:51Speaker 2: suddenly in the classroom with all my castmates, actually doing school.
- 39:54Speaker 3: And it's the only thing that made having to do
- 39:55Speaker 3: school while you're working a positive experience, first experience for
- 39:58Speaker 3: in a while for us.
- 39:59Speaker 2: But by the second movie, I was already done with school,
- 40:02Speaker 2: so I didn't I didn't to do that again. But
- 40:03Speaker 2: you guys are all in the classroom together, then you're
- 40:05Speaker 2: on set together. You had to become I think, pretty close,
- 40:08Speaker 2: pretty fast, and it seemed at least observing from the
- 40:11Speaker 2: time we were on set, like, you guys all genuinely
- 40:13Speaker 2: got along and had a good rapport. What was that
- 40:15Speaker 2: experience like, And are you guys staying in touch? Is
- 40:18Speaker 2: the is the group chat staying alive?
- 40:21Speaker 6: Yeah, the group chat. You were actually all on FaceTime
- 40:23Speaker 6: this morning in the group chat. But I think school
- 40:26Speaker 6: was like Okay, I'm so sorry, but I think.
- 40:34Speaker 13: School was one of the places where we really bonded
- 40:36Speaker 13: the most and where the least school work might have happened.
- 40:39Speaker 10: I had to drop out of French because of school,
- 40:42Speaker 10: Like I couldn't like, I couldn't keep up.
- 40:44Speaker 3: It was crazy.
- 40:45Speaker 6: We were just getting yelled at, I think for talking
- 40:47Speaker 6: so much.
- 40:48Speaker 3: But that happened making friends.
- 40:49Speaker 6: It's fun. It's too fun.
- 40:52Speaker 13: We're like shooting a scene and then two seconds later,
- 40:55Speaker 13: like you guys got to go to school. I'm like,
- 40:56Speaker 13: I'm still in the mode of camp rock and I
- 40:58Speaker 13: don't want to be learning in that camp.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I mean, there was obviously a ton of music in
- 41:04Speaker 2: the movie on top of school and acting. In the scenes,
- 41:06Speaker 2: you guys had a pretty intense rehearsal schedule, and this
- 41:11Speaker 2: is your first time singing and dancing and acting you
- 41:15Speaker 2: know on screen? What were the dance rehearsals like stressful?
- 41:20Speaker 2: Do you you guys enjoy that process.
- 41:22Speaker 12: I have never danced before my entire life. I didn't
- 41:25Speaker 12: know I was gonna dance going to Camp Rock.
- 41:27Speaker 3: I had already.
- 41:28Speaker 12: I already got it on the plane in my first day.
- 41:30Speaker 12: They were like, you're gonna go to dance rehearsals tomorrow,
- 41:32Speaker 12: And I was like, I think you're mistaken for somebody
- 41:35Speaker 12: else in the cast because I don't. I don't like
- 41:37Speaker 12: to dance, like that's not my thing. And I had
- 41:39Speaker 12: to relearn how to play the piano alongside with that,
- 41:41Speaker 12: and I had to kind of learn how to act
- 41:44Speaker 12: and be in a movie and all this stuff at once.
- 41:46Speaker 3: Kind of really got put into Camp Rock.
- 41:48Speaker 12: Yeah, I probably to workshops. Yeah, it was, but I
- 41:53Speaker 12: had a lot of fun. I was around really supportive
- 41:55Speaker 12: people who helped me through it. Jamal and Kai, who
- 41:59Speaker 12: are the choreographer is on Camp Rock. They killed it
- 42:01Speaker 12: and I'm so thankful that they were there. I had
- 42:03Speaker 12: a lot of fun.
- 42:04Speaker 13: I think the prep was, honestly such a great experience
- 42:08Speaker 13: for us, not just because obviously we have to prep
- 42:12Speaker 13: for the movie doing dances, but I think getting thrown
- 42:14Speaker 13: into such a huge project, we got to bond ahead
- 42:16Speaker 13: of time and really get into the camp Rock mode
- 42:20Speaker 13: before we actually had to shoot.
- 42:21Speaker 6: So I think it was about a month of prep
- 42:22Speaker 6: that we had.
- 42:23Speaker 13: And yeah, I mean learning the dances was just so fun,
- 42:27Speaker 13: got really in shape, I would say, I remember the
- 42:29Speaker 13: first day.
- 42:30Speaker 6: I think we had like dance rehearsals together. Yeah, And
- 42:32Speaker 6: I remember I also had to learn how to play
- 42:34Speaker 6: the cello, which was very challenging.
- 42:36Speaker 3: But a lot to learn so quick too.
- 42:38Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, but it helped.
- 42:40Speaker 13: Me get more into the mode of camp Rock and
- 42:42Speaker 13: the mode of my character. So I'm really grateful for that.
- 42:45Speaker 10: That's awesome, I think, Yeah, sam as Hudson, I never
- 42:48Speaker 10: knew I was going to be dancing.
- 42:49Speaker 8: I had an.
- 42:50Speaker 10: Inkling of a feeling. I was like, maybe I'll dance,
- 42:53Speaker 10: maybe we'll do something, but I'm going to be on
- 42:54Speaker 10: the drums. And I came out of the studio, I swear,
- 42:58Speaker 10: my driver goes, you're going a movement now, and.
- 43:00Speaker 3: I said, what movement? Movement?
- 43:03Speaker 10: Was that?
- 43:03Speaker 8: What does that mean?
- 43:04Speaker 10: And it was dance and I walk in there and
- 43:06Speaker 10: I see a bunch of dancers I've seen all over
- 43:08Speaker 10: my for You page and I'm I'm watching them go
- 43:11Speaker 10: crazy and there's like freestyling happening, and I'm okay, so
- 43:15Speaker 10: am I gonna watch? Am I gonna drum in the back?
- 43:18Speaker 10: And they have me dancing right off the bat. But yeah, again,
- 43:20Speaker 10: Jamal and Kai were so great. They helped us along
- 43:22Speaker 10: the way, and yeah.
- 43:23Speaker 3: I think that happened to us too. We showed up
- 43:25Speaker 3: on day one and they're like, you want to.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Movement and we are at each other like yeah, yeah, no,
- 43:30Speaker 2: that's not gonna happen for you guys.
- 43:33Speaker 3: All right, Well, so on the pod we do this
- 43:35Speaker 3: little fun thing where we have everyone pull a question
- 43:38Speaker 3: from the bowl. Questions of questions here that we don't
- 43:40Speaker 3: there can't related, Would you guys be questions? Let me
- 43:45Speaker 3: want you go first there, pass it down.
- 43:49Speaker 6: It feels right.
- 43:54Speaker 10: Which camp rock performance would you have wanted to be
- 43:57Speaker 10: a part of?
- 43:58Speaker 8: I think I read that right. I'd say Asta La Vista. Yeah,
- 44:03Speaker 8: yeah that looks so.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Fun, Yes, absolutely good fun. If you ran a camp?
- 44:08Speaker 8: What type of camp would you run?
- 44:12Speaker 5: Oh?
- 44:12Speaker 12: I don't know, I'd run a music I'd run Camp Rock.
- 44:18Speaker 12: Take it from conye my camp Come on, Okay.
- 44:21Speaker 13: My question is if you had to add one ridiculous
- 44:24Speaker 13: camp activity, what would it be. I think that in
- 44:27Speaker 13: this movie we deal with some mean characters. I would say, so,
- 44:31Speaker 13: maybe like a bully training.
- 44:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I love it, bully training. Answer though, bully training.
- 44:39Speaker 3: That's good, that's called.
- 44:42Speaker 4: Yeah, full disclosure. My my girls watched Camp Rock. We
- 44:45Speaker 4: watched it the other night, and they absolutely loved your character.
- 44:48Speaker 4: They loved you an electric whim too, of course, but
- 44:51Speaker 4: they loved your character and they had to run to
- 44:53Speaker 4: go do something like pause movie because she's about to
- 44:56Speaker 4: perform on the final jam and she's like, we cannot
- 44:59Speaker 4: miss it.
- 45:00Speaker 3: I was like, oh, well, they were very excited. They
- 45:02Speaker 3: thought you did a great job. They thought you did
- 45:04Speaker 3: all dated a great job. It's so sweet. Well, congrats
- 45:07Speaker 3: exciting tonight. Yeah, we're proud of themselves.
- 45:11Speaker 12: Rush three seventy days, Yes, seventy days and counting, encounting, encounting.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Thanks guys, thank yous. Wow that was fun. So how
- 45:20Speaker 3: old do you feel now? I feel quite old, Yeah,
- 45:23Speaker 3: a little. And that's just wow.
- 45:25Speaker 2: It's kind of you know, It's funny you feel that
- 45:27Speaker 2: old because we did a little bit crea when it
- 45:31Speaker 2: came out, and they would have told you no, some
- 45:33Speaker 2: of which some of some of these these new campers
- 45:35Speaker 2: weren't even born when that's what I mean when we
- 45:37Speaker 2: went to camp.
- 45:38Speaker 3: Most of them, Well, this is how old we were
- 45:40Speaker 3: not born. This is how old we are. Guys in
- 45:42Speaker 3: the original movie, we're not even campers. That's true. It's
- 45:46Speaker 3: a camp we went to. We're alumni. Oh yeah, oh exactly.

- 45:52Speaker 3: were a counselor, and the first were you in the

- 46:50Speaker 2: their teens or when they were kids who now probably
- 46:53Speaker 2: have kids of their own, and those parents that watched
- 46:55Speaker 2: it with them back then now grandparents. It should be
- 46:58Speaker 2: something that the whole family can joy and I think
- 47:00Speaker 2: for us as we step into this kind of chapter
- 47:03Speaker 2: of our life and journey teaming up with Disney again
- 47:07Speaker 2: and finding projects like this with the Christmas movie, where
- 47:09Speaker 2: we can just bring some joy into people's lives and
- 47:12Speaker 2: we can have people connect with the people they love.
