  Speaker 3: Well, I minister to Mika Strickland. I'm from New Jersey.

  Speaker 3: I was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I was
• 2:57
  Speaker 3: raised in Silaville, New Jersey. But when I met God,
• 3:06
  Speaker 3: after the abuse, abandonment, rejection that I went through, it
• 3:11
  Speaker 3: just gave me an opportunity just to learn who I
• 3:15
  Speaker 3: truly was. I identified. I get choked up when I
• 3:22
  Speaker 3: think about the glory of God. But when I think
• 3:25
  Speaker 3: about everything that God has done for me and he
• 3:28
  Speaker 3: brought me out of a place.

  Speaker 3: I give him glory because without him, I was still

  Speaker 3: being a muck and a mire. See, when you come

  Speaker 3: deep in the muck and the mire. I didn't know

  Speaker 3: anything about God. I didn't know anything about Jesus. But

  Speaker 3: I was trying, and I was searching for evidence of

  Speaker 3: who God was. I didn't understand it at first. I
• 4:29
  Speaker 3: didn't understand it at first, but I kept going and searching.

  Speaker 1: And moment for you, I'm sorry, What was that piple

  Speaker 1: moment for you where you came into the realization of
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: who God is and what he is to you?

  Speaker 3: Well, first he cleaned me up in two thousand, Okay,

  Speaker 3: I got clean and I was on this search for

  Speaker 3: this higher power because when you grow up in the
• 5:02
  Speaker 3: NA program, you know, you can't say Jesus, you can't
• 5:06
  Speaker 3: say a lie, none of that. So this higher power

  Speaker 3: had to be loving and caring. And it seemed like
• 5:14
  Speaker 3: every time I got on the eleventh step, the way
• 5:18
  Speaker 3: I was living my lifestyle at that time, it just
• 5:23
  Speaker 3: didn't resonate with my spirit anymore. So then I got saved.

  Speaker 3: And when I got saved, I thought that things would
• 5:35
  Speaker 3: remain the same. But when you give your life over
• 5:39
  Speaker 3: to Jesus, it's almost like it's a spotlight on you.

  Speaker 3: It's a spotlight on you, and even though it may
• 5:48
  Speaker 3: seem like it's getting better, it's almost like he turns
• 5:52
  Speaker 3: your life upside down. He has to go on the inside,
• 5:56
  Speaker 3: you know, and get that stuff out, you know, Because
• 5:59
  Speaker 3: when I got save, I was still dressing as a
• 6:02
  Speaker 3: man and I identified as a stud. And I was like,
• 6:08
  Speaker 3: oh my God, because I was in that lifestyle for
• 6:10
  Speaker 3: thirty years and I was like, oh my God, Really, God,
• 6:13
  Speaker 3: what's going over there. But when you pray, be careful
• 6:18
  Speaker 3: what you pray for. Because I asked God to take
• 6:21
  Speaker 3: away my pain, I didn't think he was going to
• 6:24
  Speaker 3: take away. And here I am. I'm sitting here as
• 6:27
  Speaker 3: a woman of God, and I'm just thankful for what
• 6:30
  Speaker 3: he has done. It's so much that I can say,

  Speaker 3: and I know I don't have a lot of time,

  Speaker 3: but to God be the glory for everything else has done. Yes,

  Speaker 1: Something you just said was very pivotal, and you said,

  Speaker 1: be careful what you pray for, and then you just said,

  Speaker 1: I asked God to take away the pain. So it's

  Speaker 1: basically the pain being associated with so many things in
• 7:06
  Speaker 1: your life.

  Speaker 2: That one thing took away a whole a whole lot.

  Speaker 1: Of things because they were associated with the pain. Yes,

  Speaker 1: And I'm like why when you said that, it kind
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: of in my mind it kind of just did like
• 7:23
  Speaker 1: a domino effect for me. I kind of saw it
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: like in a domino effect.

  Speaker 2: I said, my God, that was profound right there. You know,
• 7:33
  Speaker 2: the light bulb flicked for me. You know, when you
• 7:36
  Speaker 2: know you see so many.

  Speaker 1: Things that you want to turn your life around, Like

  Speaker 1: you said, you ask God to take away the pain,
• 7:42
  Speaker 1: and then you start seeing things living your life bit
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: by bit by bending you go, what's going on here?

  Speaker 2: Well, yes, got to.

  Speaker 1: Take away the pain. Yeah, So that that that's people.

  Speaker 1: That was a profound moment and had me think about
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: some things in my past in my life. So I

  Speaker 1: like that, I'm gonna I'm gonna jot that down and
• 8:03
  Speaker 1: uh reflect on that because that was that was really
• 8:06
  Speaker 1: good there for them. And so I see that you
• 8:08
  Speaker 1: are also not only in your Woman of God and
• 8:11
  Speaker 1: you have a wonderful testimony, but you shared your testimony
• 8:15
  Speaker 1: in your book, and which I think is so important.
• 8:21
  Speaker 2: I tell people all the time.

  Speaker 1: You know, other people need to hear your testimony. You know,
• 8:29
  Speaker 1: sometimes we may not physically be able to get everywhere,
• 8:35
  Speaker 1: but a book will last a lifetime. A book can
• 8:38
  Speaker 1: go in places that sometimes that we can't. The books
• 8:42
  Speaker 1: can go into the prison, the books can go into
• 8:44
  Speaker 1: the libraries, the books can go here. So it could
• 8:47
  Speaker 1: be many places where we where we physically may not be.

  Speaker 1: And so I think it's very important. So tell me
• 8:54
  Speaker 1: a little bit about your book.
• 8:58
  Speaker 3: Well, my book, Identity Deception from Wound's Worship, the raw
• 9:04
  Speaker 3: life story of evangelists to mea Strickland. It started with
• 9:08
  Speaker 3: the abuse as a child. And from that point forward,
• 9:14
  Speaker 3: I began to build blocks, the fears, the insecurities, the abandonment,
• 9:20
  Speaker 3: the rejection, and the anger. And I always say, if
• 9:24
  Speaker 3: your child is angry all the time, you need to
• 9:30
  Speaker 3: ask the question. Because see, no one asked me, well,
• 9:34
  Speaker 3: what's wrong with little meet me? So make me continued
• 9:40
  Speaker 3: that downhill journey, not knowing who she was, believing that
• 9:45
  Speaker 3: she was fat and ugly. These are the lies that
• 9:48
  Speaker 3: I was told majority of my life until I met Christ.

  Speaker 3: And in that book, it gave me the opportunity to
• 9:57
  Speaker 3: get to know who I I was from the wounded

  Speaker 3: part and then as God cleaned me up, I began

  Speaker 3: to identify with my worship. And then it continued and

  Speaker 3: I met Christ. When I gave my life over the Christ,

  Speaker 3: that's when the real Tamika began to evolve. I'm not
• 10:23
  Speaker 3: saying it was easy, because after you've been in a lifestyle,
• 10:27
  Speaker 3: you've hidden the identity of who you are.

  Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes.

  Speaker 3: Layer by layer, piece by piece, looking out, Can I
• 10:39
  Speaker 3: come out? Is it safe going back in? Because you

  Speaker 3: think like, even though you're in a lifestyle, it's the abuse,

  Speaker 3: the abandonment, the rejection. You're afraid of a man. The
• 10:55
  Speaker 3: things that haunted me majority of my life, and a

  Speaker 3: God began to get stripped once I gave Christ an
• 11:06
  Speaker 3: eternal yes, and through the trials and the tribulations and
• 11:12
  Speaker 3: the fears of because when you are dressing as a
• 11:16
  Speaker 3: man and you identifying as a man, you need to
• 11:20
  Speaker 3: be renewed. Your mind needs to be renewed. I thank
• 11:24
  Speaker 3: God for the Word of God, and I thank God
• 11:26
  Speaker 3: for the people that prayed for me, Woman of God,
• 11:28
  Speaker 3: because here it is. Here I stand, one day at
• 11:34
  Speaker 3: a time, and I think the people that He has
• 11:39
  Speaker 3: put in my life. I think Dad, I think doctor
• 11:43
  Speaker 3: Carolyn Gina Gadson, you know from the distinguished author's guilt,

  Speaker 3: just for his opportunity to stand up for who I
• 11:52
  Speaker 3: am in Christ. And this is not about anybody else.

  Speaker 3: This is this is her testimony. Yes, it's not about

  Speaker 3: anyone else. It's not about disrespecting anyone else. It's learning

  Speaker 3: to love who I am and incentifying that my likeness
• 12:13
  Speaker 3: and image is in Him. And I kept running. I
• 12:19
  Speaker 3: can no longer run anymore, Woman of God. I cannot.

  Speaker 3: I can't be afraid what people think, what they say,
• 12:28
  Speaker 3: how they treat me, because I'm not there anymore. I
• 12:32
  Speaker 3: still love you, but he called me out and I
• 12:36
  Speaker 3: ran for years. I can no longer run. I'm getting

  Speaker 3: too old and there are people waiting for me. So

  Speaker 3: I know that God has not giving me a spirit

  Speaker 3: of fear, but love, power and of a sound mind.

  Speaker 3: So I have to stand up and who I am

  Speaker 3: in Christ Jesus. Whether it's honey, sometimes it's a lonely

  Speaker 3: walk of God. He's so strategic that he put the

  Speaker 3: people in your life at the opportunity time. And you're like,

  Speaker 3: thank you, Lord. You will take the ones, the familiar spirits,
• 13:12
  Speaker 3: the ones that kind of like remind you of your past,
• 13:16
  Speaker 3: and that's fine when you are testifying. But I'm fearfully
• 13:23
  Speaker 3: and wonderfully made. So are you a woman of God.
• 13:27
  Speaker 3: He had to take me from the broken, from my wounds,
• 13:31
  Speaker 3: and now I identify with my worship. My worship is Christ,
• 13:36
  Speaker 3: my worship is prayer. My worship is just being in
• 13:40
  Speaker 3: a posture of humility, accepting myself as I am, as
• 13:46
  Speaker 3: this woman of God, knowing that no weapon formed against
• 13:49
  Speaker 3: Michelle Prosper, knowing that I'm not to tell, knowing that hey,
• 13:54
  Speaker 3: I am the righteousness of God. In Christ, Jesus, how
• 13:57
  Speaker 3: to know who you are and who you are. But
• 14:00
  Speaker 3: it's a daily process. I fall down, I get back up.

  Speaker 3: But when I say I fall down, it doesn't mean

  Speaker 3: I'm trying to be looking backwards. Yes, right right, because

  Speaker 3: that's gone. After being for thirty years, I'd have tested everything.

  Speaker 3: I've done everything. But when he and I said yes

  Speaker 3: and the Holy Spirit, he just loved doing me, Woman

  Speaker 3: of God, he loved doing me. He gave me an

  Speaker 4: no self esteem, no self worth, no self acceptance. This

  Speaker 3: and all of that. It was a slow process, yes,

  Speaker 3: but I give God all the glory and I wouldn't

  Speaker 3: It's all about him. Yes, I decrease, he.

  Speaker 1: Increased, absolutely absolutely, you know, I'm I'm enjoying this because

  Speaker 1: it's not only speaking to me, you have a testimony,

  Speaker 1: but it's it speaks to so many different areas. Any

  Speaker 1: anyone who's suffered with self esteem, who suffered with traumatic pain,

  Speaker 1: traumatic past. I too had a journey where I had
• 16:11
  Speaker 1: to learn how to love myself and letting people use
• 16:15
  Speaker 1: and abuse me.

  Speaker 2: Because I didn't think I was working.
• 16:19
  Speaker 3: Amen.

  Speaker 2: Goodness gracious, Amen.

  Speaker 1: And God has shown me my worth amen. You know,

  Speaker 1: so it really speaks volumes, and I'm awful going through.

  Speaker 2: I have a daughter kind of just like that, just angry,

  Speaker 2: and she too turned to.

  Speaker 1: A specific lifestyle and I'm still praying for her and
• 16:44
  Speaker 1: asking God.

  Speaker 2: To deliver her. So you being here is not by chance.

  Speaker 1: I can tell that your worship is for real. You know,

  Speaker 1: you you appreciate and you and I can tell that

  Speaker 1: you give God everything because you're grateful and you're just

  Speaker 1: so thankful, and I can and I can just just

  Speaker 1: I can just tell that. And I'm really enjoying your

  Speaker 1: your testiment. I can't wait to dive into your book.

  Speaker 1: I didn't get a chance to get it before, but

  Speaker 1: I really want to because I said, Wow, you have this,

  Speaker 1: this is a this is an awesome testimony. But I

  Speaker 3: it seems like like every collaboration that I was in

  Speaker 3: it was like another chapter. But it's now time for

  Speaker 3: that book because a lot of people are asking for

  Speaker 3: that solo book and it's about restoration because see, my

  Speaker 3: wounds were so deeply embedded. He when I tell you

  Speaker 3: the surgery of the spirit, like just to be here
• 19:39
  Speaker 3: and to be confident and who He has me to
• 19:45
  Speaker 3: be and to know who I am and whose I am.

  Speaker 3: That was a struggle. That was a struggle. But today

  Speaker 3: was beautiful. It's like just another chapter of it. Seemed

  Speaker 3: like each time that I go through the collaboration is
• 20:32
  Speaker 3: just another healing because it's something else that he'll bring
• 20:35
  Speaker 3: up that was still in my belly that needed to
• 20:39
  Speaker 3: be released, you know. So I'm thankful for all the collaborations,
• 20:45
  Speaker 3: having that opportunity to speak for the change movement. You
• 20:51
  Speaker 3: have women and men that have been delivered from homosexuality,
• 20:55
  Speaker 3: and they are speaking on God's healing and deliverance. Real thing.

  Speaker 3: It's a real place. It's a place of inner healing.

  Speaker 3: It's a place of inner acceptance, like being able to wow,
• 21:12
  Speaker 3: this is you God, this is your this is your love.

  Speaker 3: Look and that's like you give me your daughter's name.

  Speaker 3: I'll pray for your she's my sister because I was there,

  Speaker 3: so I have to love them. Whoever. Remember it's a decision.

  Speaker 3: was this, and then I met someone, doctor Barbara Whitehead,

  Speaker 3: and I was introduced to her discipleship class. And I'm

  Speaker 3: a Jesus woman and I stay tall and who I

  Speaker 3: am in Christ. It was because of that, so I said, okay,

  Speaker 3: people because you know, sometimes pride which is not good,

  Speaker 3: and fear of the unknown. Okay, well why not? So

  Speaker 3: I've nominated again. Gina Gatson, doctor Carolyn Stephen, all the

  Speaker 3: beautiful authors. I mean, it's just impactful just to be

  Speaker 3: nominated like this book, Just to be nominated again, I

  Speaker 3: had to let down. I felt rejected. See, as I'm

  Speaker 1: God is working on healing the people period because he's

  Speaker 1: trying to take them and bring them into something. But

  Speaker 1: he can't take them there unless he's unless they're healed.

  Speaker 1: And I've learned that because go ahead, I'm sorry, I

  Speaker 1: just real quick. I learned that because God told me

  Speaker 1: to release a book called Stronger, Better, Wiser, Walking.

  Speaker 1: That's beautiful, thank you, And God says, I'm trying to

  Speaker 1: take my people somewhere. But there's things in the past

  Speaker 1: that they're holding on to that they not letting go,

  Speaker 1: and I'm trying to take them forward. And so he

  Speaker 1: told me to release the book. So I believe your

  Speaker 1: book is going to be a healing and it's going

  Speaker 1: to bring It's going to bring people. It's so necessary.

  Speaker 2: So you didn't even know. I had a daughter that
• 30:55
  Speaker 2: I've been praying for.

  Speaker 1: No, you know that I've been for And I say, God,

  Speaker 1: you do it, and you it's like it's shedding some

  Speaker 1: light into some things. Also encouragement, And like I said,

  Speaker 2: From somebody that I know is for real.

  Speaker 1: not a passive judgment. But but she's told me whenever

  Speaker 1: I say Jesus is coming back soon, and she goes, oh, Mama,

  Speaker 1: don't say that. You know, she knows, you know, Like

  Speaker 1: you know, I'm not ready, but she knows.

  Speaker 2: So she has that conviction.

  Speaker 1: You know.

  Speaker 2: So the foundation is there. So now I'm just letting

  Speaker 2: God do it. And I just love her. I love her,

  Speaker 2: do that. She's my baby, you know. And God, you know.

  Speaker 1: I still have to tell them what's right and what's wrong.

  Speaker 1: But God is love, and that's how we're going to

  Speaker 1: draw the people is through love. They've been beaten over

  Speaker 1: the head enough, but God wants to show them his

  Speaker 1: love through us. And I really feel that you're gonna

  Speaker 1: get that message out about how God loves them, how

  Speaker 1: God loves everyone no matter what. God loves him, and

  Speaker 1: you are a true testament to that. Just like you said,

  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit just loved on you. The Holy Spirit

  Speaker 1: didn't when you when you came to the Holy Spirit

  Speaker 1: didn't beat you up about your paths.

  Speaker 3: We do it. We set ourselves up when we understand

  Speaker 3: They literally took me shopping. I was so embarrassed. But

  Speaker 3: it wasn't even because of the lifestyle. It's because of

  Speaker 3: the shame that I was living in. People don't even

  Speaker 3: understand when you living in shame and you have that
• 33:32
  Speaker 3: body morphia, you don't feel that you're worthy. Yeah. I

  Speaker 3: went to Women of Deliverance and it was one night

  Speaker 3: they had a crown of glory. Yeah, I am looking

  Speaker 3: like Stuteley, looking like a stud. I had all black
• 33:57
  Speaker 3: and they came over to me and they put this

  Speaker 3: crown on me the Tierra. Now I'm a stun you know,

  Speaker 3: I gotta keep on airs. Put it on me, put
• 34:11
  Speaker 3: a mirror in front of me, and I looked and
• 34:15
  Speaker 3: it was all these women from various churches they came.

  Speaker 3: It was called date night with Jesus, and I was

  Speaker 3: I was embarrassed because of the persona. I went home,

  Speaker 3: I put it away. A couple of days later put

  Speaker 3: on I put it on the crown and glory.

  Speaker 5: And I looked and I was like, Okay, there was

  Speaker 5: significance to it that I didn't even recognize at the time,

  Speaker 5: because we still look at the outer layer and not
• 34:52
  Speaker 5: what God is trying to do on the inside.

  Speaker 3: And I kept putting it on and I started to

  Speaker 3: leave a little bit more. I was still dressing. This

  Speaker 3: is for me, no hiding, but He was doing something

  Speaker 3: inside of me. And when I read Psims one thirty

  Speaker 3: nine fourteen, my favorite verse, I will praise you for
• 35:20
  Speaker 3: I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works, and
• 35:25
  Speaker 3: that my soul knows very well. And I had internalized
• 35:30
  Speaker 3: that and I had to see my worth God, not man,
• 35:37
  Speaker 3: you fat, you ugly you this that the name calling,
• 35:41
  Speaker 3: you know, we got to renounce all of them, the
• 35:42
  Speaker 3: word curses, flat, it is you look just like this
• 35:46
  Speaker 3: black in word. You know, you kind of announce all
• 35:50
  Speaker 3: of that stuff because that's the stuff that will keep
• 35:53
  Speaker 3: you bound up, feeling rejected, a beauty, knowing no worth,
• 35:59
  Speaker 3: don't want to know the work. And guess what angry?

  Speaker 3: Because see, my driving force was always anger, And I
• 36:09
  Speaker 3: just got another layer of deliverance thing discipleship when we
• 36:13
  Speaker 3: did a three day drive fast because my anger was
• 36:16
  Speaker 3: spewing all over the place because I always suppressed it
• 36:20
  Speaker 3: because I didn't feel like I was worthy. So now
• 36:24
  Speaker 3: it came up, came out and I'm like, Wow, there's
• 36:30
  Speaker 3: no need to be angry. Just love yourself, meet, continue
• 36:35
  Speaker 3: to meditate on the words, continue to know who you
• 36:39
  Speaker 3: are and who you are, continue to know that your
• 36:43
  Speaker 3: value comes from Christ. He's the one that died on
• 36:48
  Speaker 3: Calvary for our sense. Release yourself from all that anger
• 36:57
  Speaker 3: and bitterness. And the list goes on and on. But

  Speaker 3: God be the glory.

  Speaker 1: identify with the person that's the new person standing in

  Speaker 1: you know, So, how do you handle when someone or

  Speaker 1: if you've had an experience that you don't mind sharing,

  Speaker 1: when someone tries to bring up something in your past

  Speaker 1: and try to make it relevant today even though there's

  Speaker 1: no relevance to it.

  Speaker 3: Well, you know, let me tell you something. The enemy

  Speaker 3: always busy, right, you know. But I also know that

  Speaker 3: when I was as oh, you're not gay anymore, you're

  Speaker 3: what you want, a man, you, I said, I want God.

  Speaker 3: Whatever God wants for me, I allow him in. Before

  Speaker 3: they knew I hated men. But it was only because

  Speaker 3: But at that particular time, I was still uncomfortable. I

  Speaker 3: off of me. It wasn't even about the lifestyle. It

  Speaker 3: they don't even they don't believe it until you come

  Speaker 3: in and they see you dress like this and you're
