- 0:44SPEAKER_00: No, I don't know.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Hold on a second.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Hold, please.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: We must uh do some investigating.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: If Rue's alive, I'm shocked.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.

- 0:59SPEAKER_01: B.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Arthur died in 2009.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Betty White two years ago.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Rue McClanahan died in 2010.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: And then Betty White, yep, in 2021.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's more than two years ago.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: That's okay.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: It was so it still feels like it.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: And it was at the very end of the year anyway, so I can understand why you're like, oh, wasn't that just like yesterday?
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Okay, I don't know this listener, but I thought this was a really interesting post and wanted to see if you guys agree as parents, especially as you're you're getting your little ones ready right now.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: They said, God, I hate these stupid blanking dress days.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: Because why is my kid having a full meltdown?
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: We don't have anything for her to dress like a celebrity on a random Tuesday in October.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: They do stuff like this every week.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: It isn't fun, it's annoying and stressful.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Every week.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: Maybe not every week, but I'm I'm sure that it's a lot.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Like I know that Lydia had the Dolly Day, which made sense.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: That that was, I mean, short plan, but still, you know, you kind of you were able to pull something together.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Do your kids have the dress like uh celebrity, dress in blue on this day, wacky sock day.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: We did have Spirit Week.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Well, there I was gonna say, there is gonna be a period in the year where it comes up orange for inclusiveness?
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: I don't remember.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: I every year this list comes out.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Wear this color this day.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: All right, that's a dedicated week, and you've sent me a calendar, and I know I can pull out an orange shirt from Gavin's drawer.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: That's easy.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: It could probably say something like bruh on it, but it's orange.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, so that's easy to do.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I can relate.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: I I can't I can relate in this sense.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: You just need to have normality.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: I get that you're trying to make it fun for the kids at school.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: I get that.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Don't don't don't misunderstand that.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: But you're the one doing the work.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: You're the one, you're you're essentially you're at oh, I hate this term, but you're putting a mental load on the parents.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: And in reality, do this every every other month.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Do a pajama day.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Let them come in in their PJs.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: That's even better.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: It's less work to do at home in the morning.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Just do a PJ day.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: And do you guys you don't need to do an in, I mean, all right, an inside out day is not a big deal, but if it's themed, if it's like other than dressed like a celebrity.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: If it's if it's themed where it's on the calendar like, hey, the Elmyra Spirit Week is coming.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: This, you know, on Monday it'll be blue for um I don't know.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, your what are your school colors?
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Orange, uh, I don't know.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: We don't really I don't not yet.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: That's later.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: You know.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: But I I get what you're saying.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: If I'm proposed.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Although the principal at Divin right now is going, Scott, you dummy, you should know this.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: You've had two kids go through the school.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Did you want me to Google what your school colors are?
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Really don't care.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Um maybe in high school I will.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Uh I yeah, I don't roll, I don't remember what Elmyras are.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: I want to say, I wanna say, isn't it like a maroon?
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: It's like a maroon and white.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: That's what I thought.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Ours were hideous growing up in Buffalo.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I went to Williamsville East.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: It was maroon and gold.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, I like those.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Oh no, that not these colors.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: These two, for whatever reason, it was the shades of them.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: It was like anyway.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, back to this.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you may be a great teacher and you may be trying to, you know, make it a little bit more fun.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Boost morale.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: You're killing these parents, though.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Give them a PJ day once every other month or less than that.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Something that's attainable.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: And also, I think there's gotta be a lot of uh notice on it.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: And one other thing is that when it comes to this, I feel like there is pressure between students to make sure that they dress like something.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, if it's a celebrity, that's almost like a full costume.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Even the crazy hair days, isn't that kind of a pain in the butt for you?
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: Like whenever for me, no, I'm here with you.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: I know, but think about I'm sure, and you don't have to answer this, but there is something in me that probably says, because I've I've been there, that Lydia's had a little bit of a meltdown because her hair wasn't going right for Crazy Hair Day.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, a little bit.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: See Gavin, he's pretty easy.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, but again, when you have to color it and do that, you're just adding on to the other things.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Let's make it easy.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: PJ Day and the Spirit Week week, that's fine.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Halloween different that we know that's come.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: We know Halloween's coming.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: That's already seven days.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Spirit week, five days.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Halloween, one day.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: That's six more days than they're in school the whole year.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Hey.
