- 0:00What's up, folks, It's Jeff. I wanted to let you know we
- 0:02recorded this podcast episode on Monday, June tenth, twenty twenty four. By
- 0:06the time you hear this, some things may have changed here or there,
- 0:09but we hope you enjoy the show. All right, everybody, you're listening
- 0:33to Table Talk here at the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show, the longest running
- 0:36weekly Philly sports podcast show in the world, that's right over eleven years strong.
- 0:41Here love putting up content, getting into your ears, love the world
- 0:46of Philly sports. And this week in particular, here on our Table Talk
- 0:49interview show, we're gonna be getting into the Philadelphia Flyers, what this offseason
- 0:53is looking like so far, and what our expectations are with regard to Danny
- 0:58Briere the front off this how things are going to be moving along for this
- 1:02upcoming season. We've got a great guest, can't wait to talk to her.
- 1:04Let's get right to it. It is great to have her back on
- 1:07the show to get into this Philadelphia Flyers team. And we're also going to
- 1:11be getting into a little bit of Stanley Cup Finals talk. To start the
- 1:15conversation, we have from Broadstreet Hockey Dot com I'm a subscriber. You should
- 1:19be as well. If you are a Flyers fan. You can become a
- 1:23subscriber for as little as five dollars a month. That's the tier I'm on
- 1:29because that's all I can afford. But still it's great content. You're gonna
- 1:32love the content. Anyway. We got the one and only, the great
- 1:34Kelly Hankle. How you doing, Kelly? Good Jeff, thank you for
- 1:38subscribing. That's really nice for you. Sure thing a whole five dollars a
- 1:42month really breaking the bag kill I did the mouth one time. It's like
- 1:46thirty one cents a day? Is that what it is? Yeah? Something
- 1:49like that. Fantastic. It's great content too. Seriously, i'd like to
- 1:53think we would. I'd like to think we provide thirty one cents of value
- 1:57a day. If you're a Flyers I think you'll probably find thirty one cents
- 2:01worth of value into the websites better than some of the other nonsense that's out
- 2:06there and other sites that have been around for some time. We won't go
- 2:07into any details about those folks. But Kelly, it's great having you here
- 2:13to get into the Flyers. But I really wanted to talk about the Stanley
- 2:15Cup Finals right off the bat here the Panthers and the Oilers. As of
- 2:22us recording this folks, the Panthers they won their first game of the series,
- 2:25and I think at the end of the day, the Panthers are going
- 2:30to beat the Oilers four two in this series. That's my prediction here.
- 2:35They just have a suffocating team defense that really squeezes the life out of their
- 2:39opponents, and I'm not sure the Oilers are going to have an answer for
- 2:43that necessarily. So I just want to get your take here. You know,
- 2:46what are your thoughts on who wins the Stanley Cup Finals here? And
- 2:50what do you think the series is going to be from a record wise standpoint?
- 2:53How do you think it all like turns out the end. Yeah,
- 2:57it's interesting because I feel like everyone's saying Anthers, and you said Panthers and
- 3:00six. I feel like Panthers and six is a pretty a pretty popular choice.
- 3:06It's interesting because game one, the Oilers, by the numbers, outplayed
- 3:14the Panthers. Yes, I think that they had four expected goals. One
- 3:19of the smart people, I think I saw a posted that they got goalid
- 3:23in the first game. Sarah Gai Bobrovski was out of his mind. And
- 3:28on top of that, the Oilers third pair of Cody CC and Darnell Nurse
- 3:34is a disaster, and I believe that they've made some adjustments. I don't
- 3:38think that CC is going to be in Game two, so they're making some
- 3:40adjustments on defense. So that third pair I think was responsible for directly responsible
- 3:46for at least two of the goals against Yeah, in that game one.
- 3:50So it makes me think that it might be a little bit more even of
- 3:54a series than people are giving the Oilers credit for. And you have to
- 4:00remember that they have a guy who is so good that he could at any
- 4:05point just decide, Okay, we're not losing, right, and then he
- 4:10just wins the games by himself. So yeah, I mean, like my
- 4:14I want the Panthers to win. I like them. I think they're a
- 4:16really fun team. They have really fun players on their team. They play
- 4:21a style of hockey that I think I would enjoy the Flyers playing when they're
- 4:26good. Yeah, so it's hard not to be rooting for the Panthers,
- 4:30but I I don't know. For some reason, I kind of feel like
- 4:33the Oilers might do it, and I can see it. I honestly,
- 4:38I can see you know. I mean, look, we know and conventional
- 4:40wisdom tells us that during the playoffs and postseason, just about anything can happen
- 4:45for any team. Sparks can be lit at the most unbelievable times during a
- 4:50game, certain players can get hot. We know this as hockey fans,
- 4:54so it's not out of the role of the possibility that the Oilers pull this
- 4:57off. Now here's the thing, though, if plays like he played in
- 5:01Game one, like nothing else really matters. Like that's the thing about goalies,
- 5:04when goalies go off in the playoffs, Like I feel like we've seen
- 5:09this time and time again that sometimes a goalie can just be the thing that
- 5:15wins you the entire cut, you know, bring you the entire thing.
- 5:19Like if he was so good in Game one, that if he keeps that
- 5:24up, the Oilers might just not be able to solve him, and it
- 5:28might not matter how good they play, It might not matter how much they
- 5:30outplay Florida. If Bob stands on his head the way that he did,
- 5:34I don't know, if you watched the whole he was looking like Domini Kashak
- 5:38in Game one. It was out of control. He was insane, like,
- 5:42if he keeps that up, I don't know that they can stop that
- 5:46one particular thing. I think that the but everything else being equal, the
- 5:49Oilers I think could beat the Panthers. But if they can't figure out Bobrovski
- 5:56and they couldn't do that in game one, then you know that's it for
- 5:59them. And some of the most athletics saves that you've ever seen in your
- 6:02life. Flying Yes, fun hockey for sure. Stanley Cup Finals always fun
- 6:09hockey, Always fun hockey. But let's talk about some hockey that that we're
- 6:13hoping can get fun down the road, and that's Flyers hockey exactly. Look,
- 6:18there was a great article on broad Street Hockey dot com this past week
- 6:23summing up the year end press conference from the front office. Keith Jones,
- 6:28Dan Hilferdy. They were, you know, talking to the press just about
- 6:31continuing to build upon the culture that was really formed this past season. Kelly
- 6:35and they talked about the transparency in fact that they've implemented as well. A
- 6:42lot a lot of organizations like to talk about how transparent they are, blah
- 6:45blah blah. I think we really did see some of that, and I
- 6:46think the team probably saw a decent amount of that this year as well as
- 6:50fans. It was difficult to of course trust the previous regime because they were
- 6:56so completely tone deaf constantly. Things really do, though, Kelly, appear
- 7:01to be different now. So how do you describe the vibes here this offseason
- 7:08as the Flyers front office really looks to continue building that culture. And I
- 7:13don't know if you want to dive into like what that culture you think is
- 7:16actually going to really start looking like more and more? Yeah, I mean
- 7:21the culture thing is difficult because it's like that's such an undefinable thing. It
- 7:26is, what is it? I don't know. I mean, ultimately,
- 7:30the only culture that really matters is winning, Like we just want you to
- 7:32win. It's like cool if you guys are all friends, cool if everybody
- 7:36works hard, but like, at the end of the day, we just
- 7:39want a hockey team that wins a lot of hockey games. The press conference
- 7:44though, and I think about this a lot, like I'm a real mark
- 7:48for this kind of stuff, Like I love the Flyers, I love this
- 7:51organization. I'm a very easy sell for these guys. And you're optimistic every
- 7:57year. Yeah, I mean, and Dan Helferdy is. I mean,
- 8:01he's in the position that he's in because he's real good at selling people on
- 8:07what they want to hear. And so while logically I understand that, like
- 8:15this is a man that's a master at his craft as far as talking to
- 8:18people and crafting a message and selling a product, I really trust that dude.
- 8:24Man. I like him. He seems like a genuine person. I
- 8:28think he really actually is a hockey fan. I was talking to this about
- 8:33this with Charlie the other day, Like no one's ever going to get at
- 8:39to get to mister Snyder, Like no one's ever going to be that.
- 8:41It's impossible, it's never going to happen. Like he made the team,
- 8:45this was his baby, he owned it all by himself, Like he's it's
- 8:46never going to be that again. Yep, we all know that. But
- 8:50this right now is the closest I've ever felt to it being like that,
- 8:58in the sense that I feel like the guys in charge of this hockey team
- 9:03really really care about not just the product on the ice, but the organization
- 9:07as a whole, and I feel like they really want to do right by
- 9:16us as fans. That's what I'm talking about with culture. To be honest,
- 9:20I can't Yeah, the way that you just said that, that's what
- 9:22I'm talking about with culture. You know, it's not necessarily what you were
- 9:26talking about before. All the guys are friends behind the scenes in the locker
- 9:30room. Outside the locker room, they're going to dinner together, they're hanging
- 9:33out of each other's houses. It's not just that type of culture, but
- 9:35it's exactly what you just described. Yeah, And it just I just feel
- 9:43really good about the hands that the team is in right now, are in
- 9:48right now, and the direction of the franchise. It just feels right to
- 9:54me. Yes, And that press conference I think was just another extension of
- 9:58that. Were being open and honest, they were answering the questions that were
- 10:03asked of them. I mean, it's impossible not to like Keith Jones.
- 10:07It's just everything just feels really good. And as of this moment, they've
- 10:13not given me a reason not to trust them, and so until they give
- 10:18me a reason, I'm just gonna. I'm gonna. I'm all in with
- 10:20with these guys. I really like them. I like everything that the front
- 10:24office has done so far. There haven't really been. I mean, like
- 10:28the biggest misstep for me is like maybe you gave Nick Sealer one too many
- 10:33years? Like is that the biggest mistake is that, like gonna is it?
- 10:35You know? Am I gonna be out on this front office because they
- 10:37need Nick Sealer for years? Probably? Yeah? Yeah? So it for
- 10:43now? I just I really feel like the teams in good hands. I
- 10:46think there there are a bunch of people that really care about getting this organization
- 10:52back to where it used to be, and I, as of now,
- 10:56I think that they can do it. So here's hoping, right, all
- 10:58right, Absolutely, here's hope. And well, let's get into some questions
- 11:03here, Kelly about this off season for this Flyers team and organization. Looking
- 11:07also at what certain talent might look like this coming year. And there's a
- 11:11guy that's really been on my mind for some reason. I'm not sure why,
- 11:15but I do wonder if Travis Sandheim might be able to take a step
- 11:18forward this coming year. And I know it sounds a little bizarre, Like
- 11:22I said, I keep going back and forth in my head about whether or
- 11:24not this is even possible here. I mean, after Walker was traded,
- 11:28Nick Sealer was out due to his injury, more of a workload as we
- 11:31saw, it just fell on Travis Sanheim. I mean, he seemed when
- 11:35that happened just to be less dynamic. He didn't have the offensive energy that
- 11:39we saw prior to the trade deadline. So I don't know why I've been
- 11:45thinking this with Travis Sanheim, but do you think it's possible that we could
- 11:48see him taking some steps forward this coming season? And if so, what
- 11:52might that look like? So I think that we learned that Travis Sanheim,
- 12:00i'm is not a stud number one defenceman, right, none of us ever
- 12:03thought that he was, right, So like this, there's no disappointment there.
- 12:07He is, however, I think, a very good number two,
- 12:11and he's been handling being the best defenseman on the team in a pretty pretty
- 12:16good way. I mean, like I was just pulling up the stats while
- 12:18you were talking. He went from twenty three points in eighty one games last
- 12:24year forty four points in eighty one games this year. Like that's a pretty
- 12:28hefty step. I don't really know if we should expect too much out of
- 12:33him offense wise, because I mean, forty four points for defenseman is pretty
- 12:35good. I just got But I do kind of think that maybe this year
- 12:41was him getting used to this heavier workload that was placed on him after Provarov
- 12:48left and with Walker gone and all that stuff, and maybe next year,
- 12:52you know, he's in a bit better shape, Maybe he's a little bit
- 12:56stronger, he's a little bit more used to playing these kinds of minutes every
- 12:58night. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility to see him
- 13:01get better defensively. Yeah, maybe you know, a few more points here
- 13:05and there, But I was on the whole really happy with what we saw
- 13:09out of Travis Sanheim last season. I do wonder really quick, if you
- 13:11don't mind me saying like I do wonder how this correlates with what we were
- 13:16just talking about with the culture of the team. When you have players and
- 13:20talent that do take their game to the next level, it does help with
- 13:24the quote culture. Might he be more of a leader? Might he be
- 13:28more of the go to guy when they need it? And because of previous
- 13:33successes, he's able to put that on his shoulders. Perhaps, And that's
- 13:37where I was kind of coming from with this question right after talking about the
- 13:41culture, is whether or not Travis Sandheim can move things forward in another type
- 13:45of direction, maybe even from a cultural standpoint. I think so. I
- 13:50mean, like it's weird to think about, but like Travis Sanheim is at
- 13:54this point one of the vets on this seam is he is one of the
- 13:58veterans in the locker room. Stands to reason that a lot here for years.
- 14:03I know a lot of these younger guys probably look up to him,
- 14:05and he is from everything that I've heard, like as an extremely hard worker.
- 14:11Yeah, Like I think I forget who it was that described him this
- 14:13way. Is like the teacher's pet at like Flyers practices like he's the hardest
- 14:18worker. He's the guy picking up the pucks, like he's the guy like
- 14:20he's never taking, Like you're never going to not get one hundred and ten
- 14:24percent out of Travis Standheim. And having guys like Cam York and Jamie Drysdale
- 14:30be able to look at a guy like that and be like, Okay,
- 14:33yeah, I want to be like that guy. Yes. Like as a
- 14:37cultural thing, like that's very good because I think we saw last season that
- 14:43if the fly if this version of the Flyers, if this transitional version of
- 14:46the Flyers is going to be good, it requires them to work harder than
- 14:50the other team every single night, like that's the only way they're going to
- 14:54do it. Yeah, and that's why we saw them fall off, I
- 14:58think at the end of last season because they are just exhausted. They nothing
- 15:01left in the ten. Yeah. So seeing a guy like Travis Sanheim put
- 15:05it all out there every single night, then Cam York puts it out there
- 15:09every single night, then Jamie Drysdale puts it out there every single night.
- 15:11Because they want to also be a guy that takes twenty three minutes a night,
- 15:16like, you know, they want to get to where he is.
- 15:18So I think you're right that maybe not even a vocal leader, but just
- 15:22a lead by example kind of guy. I think it's really good to have
- 15:24a guy like Travis Sanheim around, Absolutely really really really good that Kevin Hayes
- 15:31talked Tory Krugean and not waving is no move because you know, it's it's
- 15:35really good that we have Trevis Sanham and we need it is it is?
- 15:39Yeah, absolutely all right. Well, moving along with a conversation here,
- 15:43I think conventional wisdom is telling us fans that the Flyers are likely not going
- 15:48to be players in free agency because of KAP limitations. But Danny breerra surprised
- 15:52us in the past with some of the moves that he's made, some unexpected
- 15:56moves here and there during a short tenure. Look there, we know there's
- 16:00just way too many guys that need to be paid who actually aren't playing for
- 16:04this Flyers team and organization. As frustrating as it is, I can't see
- 16:11them Kelly making a quote big move. But I'm wondering if you've thought about
- 16:15any interesting scenarios where Danny Brier could possibly surprise US fans here in free agency.
- 16:22I don't really think we're gonna get surprised. Okay, they're definitely not
- 16:27going to go after any big ticket guys. I could see them maybe going
- 16:33out and signing a cheap center for one or two one or two years,
- 16:38yeah, just because they're so thin at center right now, and that would
- 16:44be fine, like as long as they're not locking anybody up for some long
- 16:48term contract. But I just don't I can't see it happening. Like I'm
- 16:52just gonna I'm looking through things right now, like bellmar is a free agent
- 16:57this summer and he's on a league men track, Like that's the kind of
- 17:00guy that I could see them picking up just to have, you know,
- 17:06a functional, warm body that they can play on their third line at center
- 17:11because they don't have anybody else like that. That's the kind of free agent
- 17:14moves I think we're going to see out of Brier. I think they mentioned
- 17:18bringing Eric Johnson back, which I don't know why. I don't know why
- 17:25we need to warm body. Maybe I don't know. He seems he seems
- 17:29like a good dude, but like I don't know, he was real bad
- 17:33whenever he was on the ice last year. So yeah, I don't know
- 17:37why we need him back. But I mean, if he's going to be
- 17:40like the seventh defenseman that says in the press box most nights, like if
- 17:42he's going to be the Eric or the un Mark Stall the season, like
- 17:47that's fine. Yeah, but yeah, Like those are really the only kind
- 17:51of moves I can see them making a free agency, Like I figure they'll
- 17:53be signing guys in like August, Like they're not going to be taking any
- 17:56of the July one big name. I don't think we're gonna get any real
- 18:00surprises this season, which honestly is for the best. You don't need any
- 18:04surprises. Absolutely it is for the best again, folks talking to Kelly Hinkle
- 18:08from Broadstreet Hockey dot Com. Check out everything they have going on over there.
- 18:12And as we're moving along here a couple more topics I wanted to get
- 18:15into with you, Kelly. The Flyers have said that their plans are not
- 18:18going to be changing at all this offseason if Metve Mitchikov does in fact make
- 18:25it over here to the United States and to this Flyers organization. And I
- 18:29gotta tell you, I like a lot of folks too. I like this.
- 18:32They have a vision. They have that vision that they want to execute.
- 18:34I don't think Danny Brier is, you know, getting the old nervous
- 18:38feels here. Oh what do we gotta do if Mitchikov comes over here?
- 18:42Steady? The course, I like it. Wondering what your thoughts are about
- 18:47how they're going to be kind of addressing the off season based on whether or
- 18:52not Mitchkov does actually come over here to the US and to this Flyers team
- 18:56or or or not. You know, what are your thoughts here about just
- 19:00how they're the planning of it is, and again, not wanting to change
- 19:04their plans at all based on what they've said to us, So that would
- 19:08be one surprise. That would be pretty nice. It would be surprise.
- 19:15Yeah, I I don't think that they should adjust because I think that one
- 19:18thing. I think most Flyers fans have this in their head. But I
- 19:22just really want to like drive it home just in case, Like Matt Fay,
- 19:26Mitchkoff, as good as he is and as good as we're hoping he's
- 19:29going to be, is not going to step onto the NHL ice for the
- 19:33first time and be Alexander A. Vutchkins like he's a child. He's never
- 19:38played in North America before to get to by the way, Yeah, not
- 19:44sure how good his English is. Like these are all things that we have
- 19:48to think about. Like Mitchkoff is going to take some time to get wherever
- 19:52he's going to be. They need to figure out who he is chemistry with
- 19:55how his game looks. I'm sure John Tortorella is going to make him earn
- 19:59whatever it is that he gives him, because it's John Tortorella. Like he's
- 20:02not gonna just give Mitchkoff for first nine minutes out of nowhere. So like
- 20:07even if Mitchkoff, if Mitchoff gets here tomorrow, the Flyers still aren't a
- 20:15Stanley Cup team next season, Like there's no amount of moves that they could
- 20:18make around eighteen year old matt Vey Mitchkoff coming over here right and making the
- 20:23team next season, Like, they're still not going to be there. So
- 20:26it makes sense for them to continue to, as you said, execute on
- 20:32this plan that they've clearly made and not get crazy and start trying to like
- 20:37sign free agent centers and like try to stack the team for next season because
- 20:41Mitchkoff's going to be here. Mitchkoff is not going to be what he's going
- 20:45to turn into, yeah, in his first season, Like we're gonna have
- 20:48to. And I hope that people give him some grace and I think that
- 20:52they will, because everyone's already obsessed with him, Like he's going to take
- 20:56some time to get into the NH And so it doesn't make get any sense
- 21:02really for them to change whatever plan they have just because he's going to be
- 21:04here. What's cool about it is it just accelerates things a little bit.
- 21:08Like now next year is the year that he gets used to the NHL,
- 21:12rather than the year after being the year that he gets used. So maybe
- 21:15next off season we're looking at doing some things we wouldn't have done otherwise,
- 21:21you know what I mean, Like it might just push things forward a little
- 21:23bit. But I think this summer nothing should change because we're going to be
- 21:29looking at a kid who's got a lot of adjusting to make, a lot
- 21:33of adjusting to do, and it's better for him, I think, to
- 21:37not have any pressure, like, not for like, I don't want him
- 21:41to come in here thinking, oh shit, if we don't make the playoffs,
- 21:45I've failed exact or whatever. Like. Let him have a no pressure
- 21:49situation where he can figure out his NHL game and then we'll put the entire
- 21:55weight of the organization on it. We don't know his personality. We don't
- 21:57know. Yeah, we don't know his personality. We don't know. We
- 22:00don't know him like we know Travis Sandheim, Travis Connectney, the guy's been
- 22:04here for quite some time now. We Joe Farrabee. We don't know mitchgott
- 22:08We don't How is he going to take to that pressure, How is he
- 22:12going to handle the interactions just with his teammates. Will there be an intimidation
- 22:17factor based on the fact that he is in a Western based nation, and
- 22:21it's something he's never been exposed to for a lengthy period of time at all.
- 22:26So all those things obviously need to go into account. Like Kelly was
- 22:30saying, folks, seriously, if it's like his second game in a Flyer's
- 22:33uniform and he's not like performing to your standard, he should just seriously go
- 22:38like play out in traffic somewhere. Okay, just right, like if he's
- 22:41got like one goal in his first ten games, Like, we're not upset
- 22:45about this, this is fine, exactly. Yes, Truss, the process
- 22:48is the child star that we're bringing over from Russia. Well, yes,
- 22:53the final topic I want to dive into with the Kelly. Before I let
- 22:57you go, I gotta say it was fun to listen to you and Charlie
- 23:02O'Connor over on the phl Y Flyers podcast talking about the best and worst drafts
- 23:07over the past ten years. It was a fun, fun discussion, folks.
- 23:10If you aren't subscribed, yeah, if you're not subscribed, folks,
- 23:12or you know, just listen to that. It was a really fun podcast
- 23:15to listen to. It was just it was such a trip down memory lane.
- 23:18And I really liked how you both mentioned that there have been teams in
- 23:22the NHL that have initiated tank jobs in the past, and for much of
- 23:27the time they basically kind of just lucked into any type of future success that
- 23:32came from their tank. I thought it was a really honest look at some
- 23:34of those tank teams that you and Charlie kind of got into a little bit.
- 23:38I mean, look, look at the Oilers here, Look at the
- 23:41Oilers. Look what they have done. They're in the finals, and I
- 23:44think you said on that podcast too, You're like, they haven't won anything
- 23:47yet. You know, they really haven't. Looking them how exactly exactly?
- 23:52So you know, sometimes the draft is just a huge gamble here and there.
- 23:56So as it pertains to the Flyers. When some of these people and
- 24:00fans that we love and know are just crap in their trousers about the Flyers
- 24:03first pick in this draft, my thought to those folks is just chill out.
- 24:08Let's see what happens. Let's see where the chips fall. So what's
- 24:11your message to Flyers fans right here before this draft? I would say,
- 24:15like, whoever the Flyers pick, just like, be excited about it,
- 24:21enjoy it. Yes, yeah, Like whoever based on what i've seen it
- 24:26seems like we're gonna get probably either a pretty good winger or pretty good center.
- 24:33Yeah, with this twelfth overall pick. And I mean, like none
- 24:38of us know what's going to happen with these kids, right, Like talking
- 24:42about the Oilers, like they had how many first, second, third,
- 24:47overall picks that ended up as nothing. Yes, they weren't good until they
- 24:52got Connor McDavid. And there are only so many generational talents, that's why
- 24:56they're called generational. There's really only one of them. So like they got
- 25:00lucky with that one. Most of the time, it's just a it's a
- 25:04crapshoot. Like people can pretend that they know exactly what they're talking about and
- 25:07that they know what's going to happen, but none of us do, right,
- 25:11Yeah, prapshoot with these kids. So whoever the Flyers take, like
- 25:15dig into them a little bit and then get excited about it and hope for
- 25:18the best, Like that's really all that you can do. And also just
- 25:21remember that, like none of these kids that they draft this season are going
- 25:26to affect the outcome of an NHL hockey game for at least like three or
- 25:30four exactly yes, exactly, just like you know, have fun with it.
- 25:36This is supposed to be fun. It is it is it, folks.
- 25:38I swear to God, we're being optimistic about the Flyers on this podcast
- 25:41show, on this table talk podcast show. We're optimistic here. Okay,
- 25:47it's been a long time common where we can sit back and we can say
- 25:51we are optimistic about the Philadelphia Flyers, this organization, where they're going.
- 25:55Kelly Hinkle, it was great talking to you, my friend, and I
- 25:57hope that you will join us down the road. But I'd love to talk
- 26:00to you more in the future. Of course. Can I tell people about
- 26:03our draft party? Oh my gosh, I can't believe it was because I
- 26:06was going to tell you. I'm so disappointed. I'm not able to go
- 26:07because I'm gonna be on vacation with my family. However, get that information
- 26:11out there, because I was at last year's draft party. It was fantastic,
- 26:15It was fun. It was just great getting to meet other Flyers,
- 26:19fans, people that are part of the broad Street hockey community. So take
- 26:23it away, my friend, cool. Thank you. So this year we're
- 26:26partnering with our friends at PHL Why Bill and Charlie we're going to co host
- 26:32the draft party. It's so June twenty eighth, six pm at the bet
- 26:37Park's sports Book, which is not the Ben Salem Casino. It is the
- 26:41South Philly seven hundred Packer Avenue Sportsbook location is where we're going to be having
- 26:47this party. There will be food, there will be drink specials. We're
- 26:51gonna have some giveaways from the Flyers organization. Yeah, it's just it's one
- 26:56of those things I say this all time and it's kind of she but like,
- 27:00there's nothing better than watching Flyers stuff in a room full of Flyers fans.
- 27:06Like it's so much better than just being on your couch and like tweeting
- 27:08about it on Twitter. So like, if you can come on out,
- 27:12there's like tons of parking at this place. If you're coming from the suburbs,
- 27:15you don't have to worry about that. Very close to the stadium,
- 27:18so very easy to get to. It'll be a lot of fun. You
- 27:21can come hang out with me and Bill will be there, and Charlie will
- 27:23be in Vegas, so he's he won't be there, but yeah, it'll
- 27:26be it'll be a good time about coming. You should come down and folks
- 27:30a lot of the writers are that are at Broadstreet Hockey dot com. They
- 27:33are going to be there as well the Fly Purbole podcast that you may listen
- 27:37to every now and again. He will be there. Yes, yes,
- 27:41just fantastic folks. Like I said, I've been coming, I've been basically
- 27:45coming. It's like every other year. I'm on flicking vacation and you know,
- 27:48I've got to talk to my wife about this here, Kelly, I
- 27:52got vacation time because it is it is. I got to talk to her
- 27:56about about booking our family trips here in the future. So it was great
- 28:00talking to you, my friend. And let's talk down the road. Maybe
- 28:03after the draft we can talk about what the heck happened. Yeah, for
- 28:07sure, that'll be awesome. That's gonna do it for us here on table
- 28:11Talk this week. Please share our podcast with your friends and family members who
