- 0:16SPEAKER_01: Now, that pro that proposition for me is just exceptional.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: Uh because you don't do that.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: The last time I did that was like a special uh HBO special at Madison Square Garden where I mounted the show just for that room.
- 0:27Sean McAllister: The only bingo hall on the strip just opened, and we were there.

- 1:01Sean McAllister: All this and more coming up on Vegas Revealed.
- 1:06Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 308.
- 1:09Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister and Dana Roselli here with you.
- 1:12Sean McAllister: And the year of the fire horse has arrived, Dana.
- 1:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and later we're gonna have a list of a bunch of different things going on in Las Vegas.
- 1:20Dayna Roselli: If you want to go celebrate the lunar new year, a lot of the lion dances and stuff have taken place already, but uh some of them are coming up over the weekend.
- 1:28Dayna Roselli: If you're listening to this on the day that it drops, there's tons of photo moments up and down the strip.
- 1:33Dayna Roselli: We'll have that coming up.
- 1:35Sean McAllister: But first, there is something that has just returned to the strip that we were honestly a little surprised about because we thought bingo had kind of been on the strip for a while, but apparently it hasn't.
- 1:48Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:48Dayna Roselli: Circus Circus debuted a new bingo hall.
- 1:51Dayna Roselli: And we thought what was different and unique about it was that it was kind of old school and vintage with the daubers and the paper.
- 1:56Dayna Roselli: But then we learned, no, it's actually the only bingo hall on the strip.
- 2:01Dayna Roselli: There actually isn't bingo.
- 2:03Dayna Roselli: And I was like, well, they have it at stations, but I'm like, oh, stations doesn't it isn't on the strip.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: A lot of other properties, but they're all off the strip, but there isn't bingo on the strip.
- 2:13Dayna Roselli: So you know what?
- 2:14Dayna Roselli: Before we hash it all out, we were there, we played, we did a media preview night, and we learned all about it.
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: And let me tell you, listen up, this is something you're gonna want to do.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: It was an old meeting space, maybe 15-20 years back, and then it became a storage dump ground more than anything else.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: And I decided I was like, we need to do something different.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: And Vegas is all about vintage, it's all about um budget friendly.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: So bingo came to mind and looks amazing.
- 2:56Sean McAllister: Gonna get the warmups in.
- 2:57Dayna Roselli: He's doing his number one because we're getting ready to bingo old school circuit circuits.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: It's something that is really fun and affordable.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: We have the whole games.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: You get 12 games, you get a bonus and a cover-up for$30.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: $30.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Um, our our prizes are probably one of the best in Las Vegas.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Every session, we're gonna give away$4,000.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: What?
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: So the the cover up prize is$1,500.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be having uh popcorn hot dogs, um, pretzels, and it's$2,$2,$2.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Thursday through Sunday, we start at 1 p.m.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: and we have five sessions, one, three, five, seven, nine.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: The sessions are gonna last probably about an hour and 15 minutes, so about 75 minutes long.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Um, every person that purchases, uh, you get two free drink tickets with it also.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: So for$30, you get your chance to win up to$4,000.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: If you win every single game, you get a few drinks, you can bring friends, you can have fun.
- 4:14Dayna Roselli: So you do have to pay attention with the daubers.
- 4:17Dayna Roselli: We talked about this, I think, in a past episode, how Sean's really into the high-tech bingo because he doesn't have to pay attention.
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: Well, now I learned why.
- 4:24Dayna Roselli: Because he was waiting for a number, and then I looked up at the board and I was like, no, they've already called that number, but it was too late.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: Somebody had already called bingo, and the whole time you had a winner in front of you and you lost.
- 4:37Sean McAllister: I already had a a winning, a winning scorecard.
- 4:42Sean McAllister: But because of what I-41, I think is what it was.
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: I don't remember.
- 4:47Dayna Roselli: I thought it was a 43 or something.
- 4:48Sean McAllister: Anyway, it was a 40-something, and it was, man, a thorn in my side.
- 4:53Sean McAllister: Because after I saw that, I was like, oh, I could have won this bingo.
- 4:58Sean McAllister: I would have been the only one.
- 5:00Sean McAllister: I know.
- 5:00Sean McAllister: The only thing, it was really it was hard because we're playing around where you the shape that you were trying to get was a turtle.
- 5:09Sean McAllister: And with so many dots all around the rest of your bingo board, it was hard to make out which squares made up that shape.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: And needless to say, it was the head of the turtle that I already had but didn't know.
- 5:24Sean McAllister: Darn.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was so I'm one of those people who always is like looking up and checking to make sure I've got every like I keep reviewing it, reviewing it, reviewing it.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: You're right though.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: It is fast paced because I mean there's a lot of time in between numbers, but you just gotta double check everything.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: And it can't so that's how it works.
- 5:40Dayna Roselli: So basically, um, I'm assuming most people have played bingo with paper packets before, but um paper boards.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: But yeah, you start out with one shape, say it's straight across, but then the next one you stay on that board, and now maybe you're gonna do like a star or whatever.
- 6:00Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: And so then it has to create something else.
- 6:03Dayna Roselli: So yeah, it is hard to like keep up on your shapes, but so much fun, and I just loved it.
- 6:09Sean McAllister: It was a blast, and I mean, for the price, you can't beat it.
- 6:13Sean McAllister: 30 bucks to get your your packet and to have a chance to win four thousand dollars in prizes each bingo session.
- 6:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and you get two free drinks, two free drinks, two dollar popcorn, pretzels, hot.
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's it's really a great deal.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: And you get a lot in the packet.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: You get a lot of different boards.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: It's a lot of games, yeah.
- 6:37Dayna Roselli: You get the jackpot, you get the extra bonus round.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: So, but I remember back in the day um when we would go to like church bingo and stuff like that.
- 6:45Dayna Roselli: I mean, some people would have like some people would buy like six of those and spread them all out.
- 6:51Dayna Roselli: I would always wonder, like, how do they keep track?
- 6:54Dayna Roselli: Because that one was hard for us.
- 6:56Sean McAllister: Right.
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: But it was so fun.
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: It's a great new addition.
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: I think it's gonna do so well.
- 7:01Dayna Roselli: We noticed Circus Circus is looking really good.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: They had some fresh carpet, they had done a really cool um little entrance.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: It wasn't the slot machines weren't on yet because we went to a preview night, but they have like a whole little slot area out there, vintage.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's we were saying, I feel like it's cleaning up and it's getting it's getting better and better every time we walk through the door.
- 7:23Sean McAllister: Well, and I uh what I like is that they turned a space of uh that property that wasn't being used for anything, they turned it into something that uh is going to attract people and bring people in.
- 7:37Sean McAllister: They're not trying to gouge you, they're fair, I mean, more than fair prices, I would say.
- 7:44Sean McAllister: I think it's kind of a steal.
- 7:46Sean McAllister: Uh, but uh well done on Circus Circus for bringing bingo back and doing it in a way that is so approachable for just about everybody.
- 7:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:57Dayna Roselli: And we did talk with, you know, and then we didn't put this sound bite into the story, but we did talk with Shayna about, like, I said to her, like, I love that you just stayed true to who you are.
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: And she said, Listen, we can't be anything else.
- 8:08Dayna Roselli: We are Circus Circus, and this is what we are, and we focus on more affordable, more old school, you know, they got the adventure dome.
- 8:19Dayna Roselli: I mean, they are who they are, and she's like, That's who we're always gonna be.
- 8:22Sean McAllister: So well, and especially after they saw all the success when they uh opened slots of fun with only coin operated machines, and they also have cheap eats over there, and people just flock in there, and they're like, Well, maybe this vintage thing is we need to ride this wave and give some more vintage options, which is what they're doing with the old dauber bingo and the paper sheets.
- 8:47Sean McAllister: So that is that's gonna be a hit.
- 8:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it's officially open the new bingo hall there.
- 8:53Dayna Roselli: It's Thursday through Sundays and a variety of times.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: I think she mentioned it in the story.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: So look it up and head over and play some bingo for 30 bucks and two drinks.
- 9:05Sean McAllister: Now to blue access, your VIP pass to everything Fountain Blue Las Vegas.
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: Sports and entertainment are in focus at the hotel casino right now as Mark Anthony and college basketball take center stage.
- 9:17Sean McAllister: And if you can't be courtside for all the hardwood action coming up, Fountain Blue is transforming its theater for March Mania.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: That's also where Mark Anthony lights up the marquee with his new residency, Vegas My Way.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: This gave me the opportunity just to sing songs I've never performed before live that are number ones.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: It's not like I'm gonna sing anything that people wouldn't know, but I've never been able to perform live.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: So duets, um, English, ballads, salsa all night.
- 9:49SPEAKER_04: That's why it's Vegas My Way, right?
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, if ever you're gonna live in Vegas, you might want to do it the way I would.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Because everybody deserves the Fountain Blue experience.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: Everybody deserves just the best of the best.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: And it was just a proposition that I couldn't um ignore.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Um, because simply because of what the building represents, what the brand represents, that means I have a brand new theater and I get to mount a show just for that room.
- 10:13SPEAKER_04: The salsa vibes are gonna be vibing, right?
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Through the roof, through the roof.
- 10:17SPEAKER_04: Are there any like salsa, a couple salsa moves if nobody's ever salsa'd, that you could that we need to know?
- 10:24SPEAKER_04: If I'm gonna be in the audience, or is it just move the body?
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: It's not that hard.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: It's it's a okay, come on.
- 10:29SPEAKER_04: Okay, ready?
- 10:44SPEAKER_04: Here it's so good.
- 10:46SPEAKER_04: It's so good.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: So hot.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: It's so hot.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: That song.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: Um, it's it has to be like my favorite recording ever.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: It means so much to me.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: Nati Peluso is just an artist beyond belief.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: Uh, the most musical, very, very talented.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: And and it's the first time I sing a duet with uh with a female artist in 25 years.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: So um, I got it right the first time, I got it right the second time.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I'm super super excited.
- 11:21Sean McAllister: Another headliner here inside the Blue Live Theater at Fountain Blue is college basketball.
- 11:26Sean McAllister: My favorite time of year because of the non-stop back-to-back hoops action.
- 11:31Sean McAllister: Fedor, what makes the Blue Life Theater such a great place to come and watch the games?
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, the m the main differentiator is the 80-foot screen right in the middle.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: It's so large.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: It's gotta be one of the biggest ones in town.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: It's the best place to make you feel like you're courtside.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: It's it's the best view experience for being at the game.
- 11:48Sean McAllister: This is year three of March Mania here at Fountain Blue.
- 11:51Sean McAllister: What is the vibe like inside of this room?
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's uh incredible when when a shot happens and the money line is in question, the crowd erupts, you really feel like you're courtside.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: And you're with 2,000 of your closest friends watching the game, everyone's animated, it's a great experience.
- 12:08Sean McAllister: How does uh food and beverage factor into the experience here?
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Well, we have different packages for all.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: We have the floor experience where you have Gourmet food, uh, all you can drink, all you can eat, food all day.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: We have different price points for everyone.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: We also have the tavern out, which is our uh sportsbook restaurant down on the floor.
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: Sportsbook with huge uh video screens, and you can book your period of time that you want to stay there and have food and beverage all day long.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: Go to our website.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: Tickets are available now while they're available at fountainbluelasvegas.com.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: It's the place for luxury basketball viewing.
- 12:43Sean McAllister: I mean, it is pretty cool how Fountain Blue really does transform the theater.
- 12:48Sean McAllister: There's couches that make it feel nice and comfy down on the floor with that massive screen.
- 12:54Sean McAllister: Uh, if you do want to get in on March Mania at Fountain Blue, it's March 19th through the 21st.
- 13:02Sean McAllister: And as you heard, there are a variety of uh ticket options.
- 13:06Sean McAllister: Also, the tavern over there is another viewing option.
- 13:10Sean McAllister: So consider Fountain Blue for all this college basketball action because you do, you want a home base and you want somewhere that's gonna be fun and exciting with a whole bunch of other people, right?
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it just makes it, you know, the whole experience so cool, right?
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: And just Fountain Blue in general.
- 13:26Dayna Roselli: We have to talk about our night on Friday.
- 13:28Dayna Roselli: Um, we went to Mark Anthony's first night of his residency, and we were blown away, but we just had this fabulous evening at Fountain Blue, and it just felt so, I don't know, elevated, luxurious, but old school too, right?
- 13:43Sean McAllister: It really did.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: So Fountain Blue invited us over to see Mark's show, and uh they invited us in for dinner at Don's Prime, which is absolutely delicious.
- 13:54Sean McAllister: This is the first time that I've uh had dinner over there at Don's.
- 13:59Sean McAllister: And first of all, when we were walking through there, I was like, wait a second, this isn't just like one dining room, they have multiple dining rooms as you go back into the restaurant.
- 14:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so it's like a big restaurant, but it has a little bit of that old school cozy feel because you know, for a while there, and there are plenty of restaurants that are big and open, and that's nice too if you're looking for that vibe, but this kind of makes it because it's dark and like intimate, and it just feels like every room that you walk into is kind of a little experience, you know?
- 14:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, they each have their own personality, yeah.
- 14:32Sean McAllister: And we were in a a corner booth, which was great, um, but the food was delicious.
- 14:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I I made you get the lamb chops because they're my favorite over there, and you thought they were good, right?
- 14:42Sean McAllister: Loved them.
- 14:43Dayna Roselli: And I think our waiter was saying they're using an Australian lamb now.
- 14:46Dayna Roselli: Yes, yeah, those were great.
- 14:48Dayna Roselli: We had the you ordered the steak.
- 14:50Dayna Roselli: What did we get all sliced up?
- 14:52Sean McAllister: Uh, we had the ribeye.
- 14:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, the ribeye.
- 14:54Sean McAllister: The bone-in ribeye.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: And I said we never ordered any because you can order sauces and stuff to dip or put over.
- 15:00Dayna Roselli: I said we never ordered any sauces, and I looked at you and I was like, but I don't think I need any.
- 15:04Dayna Roselli: It was delicious.
- 15:05Dayna Roselli: We needed no sauce.
- 15:06Sean McAllister: No, no sauce, no salt or pepper.
- 15:09Sean McAllister: It was like perfectly seasoned.
- 15:11Sean McAllister: And then, of course, we had the sides.
- 15:13Sean McAllister: We had mac and cheese, um, the uh chopped salad.
- 15:18Sean McAllister: The way they serve it there is fun too.
- 15:20Sean McAllister: It's like a circle with some crispies on top.
- 15:24Dayna Roselli: The broccolini was great.
- 15:26Dayna Roselli: And the martini was made to perfection.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: I had a martini with the blue cheese olives, and you did too, right?
- 15:31Sean McAllister: I did.
- 15:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was great.
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: So thank you, uh, Don's Prime.
- 15:34Dayna Roselli: Great to experience that before we went to Mark Anthony's show.
- 15:37Dayna Roselli: And then, so I had a friend with me, my friend Robin.
- 15:39Dayna Roselli: People might see her in pictures with me a lot.
- 15:41Dayna Roselli: We live in the same building, and so we're like besties and we run around and do a lot of things together.
- 15:46Dayna Roselli: And she was like, Oh yeah, I like Mark Anthony, but you know, she we well, that's another story.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: We ran actually ran into him at another event that week.
- 15:54Dayna Roselli: She met Mark, and uh, because I had gone up to him, and then she's like, Okay, I need to go to the show.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: So I'm like, great, come with me.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: Didn't know what to expect.
- 16:02Dayna Roselli: Um, you were there, uh, your husband Shane was there, and we were all like, we expected it to be good, but I really think we were blown away.
- 16:10Dayna Roselli: I don't want to say surprisingly blown away.
- 16:12Dayna Roselli: I think it's because we didn't know all his music.
- 16:15Dayna Roselli: But this is what I love because people were saying to me, Are you going to Mark Anthony?
- 16:19Dayna Roselli: I don't really know a lot of his music.
- 16:20Dayna Roselli: I'm like, I know, but I like to go to shows that I and and cover shows and go to media events for shows that I wouldn't normally go to to see like I feel like that's important.
- 16:34Sean McAllister: And and listen go and listen to music that's not normally in your playlist.
- 16:38Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 16:38Sean McAllister: And that is I mean, I we talk about it all the time.
- 16:43Sean McAllister: The the mark of a successful residency show in Vegas is if you walk in not entirely familiar with the catalog of songs for that artist, but you walk out of the show saying that was a great show, like Mark Anthony gets the entire room wrapped up in the feeling of the music.
- 17:10Sean McAllister: People were up at their seats in the aisles dancing, dressed to the nines.
- 17:17Sean McAllister: Everybody showed up, and the uh guy who was sitting behind us, I overheard him say he was like, Man, he was like, I feel like we're at a Sinatra show.
- 17:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and because the band on the risers really made it feel so grand, right?
- 17:33Sean McAllister: It really did.
- 17:34Sean McAllister: I mean, it felt like Mark Anthony transported us into his own nightclub kind of a deal.
- 17:41Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 17:41Dayna Roselli: And when we talked to him in that interview, he said, I'm gonna create this show inside this brand new theater my way.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: And it just, it really was so good.
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: And he sings songs in English, songs in Spanish, his Spanish hits.
- 17:58Dayna Roselli: And the English songs I love.
- 17:59Dayna Roselli: They're on my playlist now, and I'm like, oh my gosh, I forgot about that song.
- 18:03Dayna Roselli: And he has some hits and his voice, his presence, the way he moves, he just kind of flows all over, and then he jumps up and down.
- 18:11Dayna Roselli: It's just like you're in it.
- 18:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean, it's no wonder he's an international superstar because his charisma was just oozing off the stage, and it just it was like a giant hug.
- 18:24Sean McAllister: Yeah, you know, like he was hugging everyone in the audience, and everyone just felt so connected to him.
- 18:30Sean McAllister: You could tell.
- 18:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, even up in the balcony, they were going crazy up there and dancing and hands in the air.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 18:37Dayna Roselli: We all walked out and we were like, I love this show.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: And we ran into some other media friends at the after party who said the same thing.
- 18:43Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, you were talking to um someone who said, like, this was a great Vegas show.
- 18:52Sean McAllister: It was fantastic.
- 18:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:53Dayna Roselli: It we loved it.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: The after parties at Nowhere Lounge, um, and so much fun.
- 18:58Dayna Roselli: Mark was there with his wife.
- 18:59Dayna Roselli: Um, that was great to see him there.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: That they had a full band playing, the martinis were flowing.
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: I mean, it was a Vegas night.
- 19:07Sean McAllister: And the dancing continued there.
- 19:08Sean McAllister: The dance floor that is this is one thing I love about Nowhere Lounge.
- 19:14Sean McAllister: I like a lot of things about it.
- 19:15Sean McAllister: But it is a great place to go to see people up and dancing, taking full advantage of the dance floor.
- 19:23Sean McAllister: There's live music in there all the time, but for the after party, e after each of uh Mark Anthony's residency shows, that is the official after party, and you're gonna the dancing continues, the music continues, that vibe just keeps going.
- 19:39Dayna Roselli: I think it's so important to have the after party feel.
- 19:42Dayna Roselli: And you know, some shows even like you know, I'd say like five, six years ago, you used to do that more often.
- 19:50Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:50Dayna Roselli: And I it's a huge element.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: You're paying to go to the show, you're in the moment, you you walk out, you enjoyed it so much, you want to continue even with those people and those vibes and that kind of feel again.
- 20:03Dayna Roselli: And this allows the you know that to happen.
- 20:07Sean McAllister: Well, it's because when you walk out of a a show, you're kind of like floating on this high.
- 20:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, like you've you've got that energy going on, and you don't want to just like go to your car and drive home.
- 20:18Dayna Roselli: No, and you know what?
- 20:20Sean McAllister: Let's keep this going.
- 20:20Sean McAllister: I like this.
- 20:21Dayna Roselli: And you don't want to leave a Mark Anthony show and then go to like a hip hop club and change the whole feel.
- 20:27Dayna Roselli: I mean, maybe you do, but I mean, I feel like you want to keep whatever vibe you're in going.
- 20:33Sean McAllister: Yeah, so I think it's so smart that Fountain Blue is doing that with Nowhere Lounge, having the after parties there.
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: So I'm a classic martini girl, and I usually only do that, but your husband was having a lemon drop martini, and I was like, let me try that.
- 20:46Dayna Roselli: It the Nowhere Lounge lemon drop martini is fantastic, by the way.
- 20:50Dayna Roselli: Highly recommend I had two.
- 20:52Sean McAllister: Their uh old fashions are fantastic, and their regular martinis are really good too.
- 20:57Dayna Roselli: It's a great lounge.
- 20:58Sean McAllister: And they have like the the little bar mix in the cute little tray.
- 21:03Dayna Roselli: The chips and the cashews are just like delicious.
- 21:08Dayna Roselli: They're big and chunky, and it was good.
- 21:10Sean McAllister: And you hardly ever find a place that has little bar snacks for you like that, especially at a lounge.
- 21:17Sean McAllister: It's important.
- 21:18Sean McAllister: They do it right.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: Fountain Blue has all the little touches, every nook and cranny of the property.
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 21:25Dayna Roselli: Um we also were gonna what was I gonna say?
- 21:29Dayna Roselli: Oh, we wanted to mention that Mark when his other shows are okay.
- 21:32Dayna Roselli: He's this weekend.
- 21:33Dayna Roselli: If you're listening to the podcast as it drops on time, um, he's got shows.
- 21:38Dayna Roselli: Um, let's see here, February 20th.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: So he'll be here Friday, February 21st, Saturday, um at eight o'clock, and then he's back in July, July twenty fourth, twenty fifth, twenty ninth, thirty first, and August first.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: And maybe he'll announce more dates because this went really well.
- 21:54Sean McAllister: It did.
- 21:55Sean McAllister: And I would uh I would bet on the fact.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: That more shows are going to be announced.
- 22:02Dayna Roselli: And I'm kind of like, I liked it so much.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: I'm kind of like, I kind of feel like going again this week.
- 22:07Sean McAllister: I know.
- 22:08Sean McAllister: I know.
- 22:09Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 22:09Dayna Roselli: There was something about it.
- 22:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:11Sean McAllister: There is something about it.
- 22:12Sean McAllister: It is, it is a hundred percent worth putting it on your itinerary.
- 22:18Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: And listen, I know we talk about Elvis a lot, but let's cross over to the Elvis movie that um Baz Leerman just put out because depends on when you're listening, but it's out in IMAX on uh February 20th.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: But we saw Mark Anthony at that too.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: And I love that Mark's embracing Las Vegas.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 22:37Sean McAllister: Oh right out the gate.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: Right out the gate.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: We we had interviewed him on a Monday, and then the Tuesday night we went to the premiere over at the Westgate in the International Theater where Elvis used to perform to watch a preview of the movie.
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: And we saw Mark Anthony there.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: He was there with the the owner of the Fountain Blue.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: So that was really cool to see him out and about too.
- 22:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was.
- 22:58Sean McAllister: And there were uh some other notable people in the audience as well.
- 23:03Sean McAllister: Um, a lot of people came dressed as Elvis for the screening.
- 23:07Sean McAllister: Um, I think that we're both on the same page, Dana, in the feeling that this film is just such uh first of all, it's like more of a documentary concert film kind of a thing.
- 23:23Sean McAllister: Elvis himself narrates the whole film.
- 23:26Sean McAllister: Yeah there's an interview done with Elvis where he talks about his career, his his upbringing, his dealings with fans, everything he touches on.
- 23:37Sean McAllister: And this documentary is put together with that interview kind of tying everything together.
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: And they let it breathe.
- 23:48Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: So I wasn't sure because I know Baz isn't so creative.
- 23:52Dayna Roselli: And you know, some of his movies can be a little flashy, like the Elvis movie that came out with Austin Butler.
- 23:58Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 23:59Dayna Roselli: You know, it moved, it was pop, it was, you know, theatrical and all that.
- 24:02Dayna Roselli: And so I didn't know what to expect, but I love that he just let it be.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: Elvis in rehearsal, Elvis backstage, Elvis walking out to do the show in Vegas.
- 24:13Dayna Roselli: Then we actually get to hear him perform a few full songs and his banter.
- 24:18Dayna Roselli: And you just feel like you're literally sitting there at the show.
- 24:21Dayna Roselli: And what an honor it was to sit in the theater because we're watching him perform in the theater that we were sitting in the same seat.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: It's just cra it was crazy.
- 24:29Sean McAllister: It it was.
- 24:30Sean McAllister: And I I think what struck me was first of all, um Elvis's sense of humor.
- 24:37Dayna Roselli: So funny.
- 24:38Sean McAllister: And also uh how kind he was to the people who were who he worked with, who he met.
- 24:46Sean McAllister: Um in the footage that you see, it just came across that he was just a very kind uh person.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and people have always said that, so it's nice to see it for your own eyes.
- 24:57Sean McAllister: It is, yeah, and also just the wide cross-section of people that he surrounded himself with.
- 25:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:07Sean McAllister: And I just I loved that.
- 25:09Sean McAllister: And I had musical influences that he had too, going, you know, from gospel to rock and roll.
- 25:15Sean McAllister: Like it it was a r his music was really uh meshing together of a bunch of different styles.
- 25:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 25:23Dayna Roselli: And even yeah, him and they touched on I liked it.
- 25:27Dayna Roselli: They just they touched on, you know, how how much his mother meant to him.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: They touched on Priscilla and Lisa Marie very briefly.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: I love that the the movie focused on Elvis.
- 25:39Dayna Roselli: It wasn't about the downfall and when he gained all this weight and when things started to, you know, we started to notice there was, you know, he was feeling it and something was going on.
- 25:48Dayna Roselli: It didn't, it just was the good moments of Elvis, but also you see a little bit of the, you know, uh him growing as an artist and moving through the years and him really wanting to leave and travel the world, but being held back, and that story kind of like there's a little hinting of that.
- 26:09Dayna Roselli: So yeah, but it just it was just it was a positive movie.
- 26:12Sean McAllister: It was.
- 26:12Sean McAllister: It wasn't it wasn't about the drama in his life, it was just him in his own words with actual footage of him that really hasn't been seen before.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: It is like a concert, it's like a concert film.
- 26:27Dayna Roselli: Because some people say, Well, I don't like documentaries.
- 26:29Dayna Roselli: Well, yeah, you're not gonna sit there and hear one person and then another person and another person talk and be interviewed and sit down and talk about Elvis.
- 26:36Dayna Roselli: This is Elvis and his music, and it was great.
- 26:40Dayna Roselli: His costume changes, the ladies.
- 26:42Sean McAllister: The costume the ladies were going crazy on fire.
- 26:47Dayna Roselli: On fire.
- 26:48Dayna Roselli: So it's a great film.
- 26:49Dayna Roselli: Go see it.
- 26:50Dayna Roselli: It's in IMAX her week, and then it's uh everywhere, out in theaters everywhere.
- 26:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, highly recommend it.
- 26:55Dayna Roselli: So we mentioned at the top of the show about Lunar New Year, and it is officially Lunar New Year, and it's celebrated here uh in Las Vegas in so many different ways, or like dragon dances and performances.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: Some of them are over, some of them haven't happened yet, but we're gonna go through just a quick list of the things that you can still check out.
- 27:13Dayna Roselli: Maybe you want to take some photos, you want to go see, you want to go to a performance.
- 27:18Dayna Roselli: And one of them um is something that comes back every year at the forum shops at Caesars Palace.
- 27:23Dayna Roselli: It's this huge dragon they put on display.
- 27:25Dayna Roselli: It's right there as you kind of enter the forum shops from the casino.
- 27:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, and uh this is an annual thing.
- 27:32Sean McAllister: Caesars Palace uh always does a big celebration, but that dragon will be there at a good chance to grab some photos because just about every resort is decked out for Lunar New Year.
- 27:46Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 27:47Sean McAllister: And this is the big display that they have over there at the forum shops.
- 27:51Sean McAllister: At the Grand Canal shops down at Venetian, uh, they're doing uh different cultural performances there in St.
- 27:59Sean McAllister: Mark's Square through Sunday.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: So if you want to see some of those performances, that's a good place to keep in mind.
- 28:08Sean McAllister: Um, there's uh smoke breathing dragon in there near the Louis Vuitton store and a bunch of other cool things throughout the property.
- 28:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so that'll be there, and I think you can go take pictures with that, just like the one at Forum Shops.
- 28:22Dayna Roselli: It's like illuminated and gold, and um actually I think we drove we walked by that uh a couple years ago and took some pictures of it when we were on our way to something.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we did, I think.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: I remember being with you.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 28:32Dayna Roselli: He's back.
- 28:33Dayna Roselli: Um, uh right in front of Louis Vuitton.
- 28:35Dayna Roselli: We did not go into Louis Vuitton because we couldn't afford anything at that time.
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: But we touched the dragon for good luck.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: Um, and then also um, if you want to go actually see one of the, you know, the dragon dances, so the one at Resorts World hasn't happened yet, depending on when you're listening to this, but um, Resorts World is doing their lunar new year celebration over the weekend.
- 28:56Dayna Roselli: They have the lion and dragon dance, um, and that is Saturday at 4 p.m.
- 29:02Dayna Roselli: And it will feature a traditional lion and dragon dance, a high pole performance, lettuce blessing, and a firecracker finale.
- 29:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:11Sean McAllister: Feed the lettuce to the dragon for good fortune.
- 29:14Dayna Roselli: That's fun.
- 29:15Dayna Roselli: So I guess you can um, I think they said to meet in the what do they call the the district at four, and then the it will flow throughout the property.
- 29:23Dayna Roselli: So you can follow along.
- 29:24Sean McAllister: And that is on Saturday, the 21st.
- 29:26Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 29:27Dayna Roselli: And then the Bellagio Conservatory is uh all decked out for Lunar New Year right now, and I that's open 24-7.
- 29:34Dayna Roselli: I believe that display goes till February 24th before they change it over for spring.
- 29:39Sean McAllister: And it's the the year of the fire horse.
- 29:42Sean McAllister: So I've I got my hair cut, I got a new wallet, I got uh things cleaned and organized.
- 29:50Sean McAllister: So the if you do though if you do those things, then good fortune and prosperity is what the fire horse should be riding in with.
- 30:00Dayna Roselli: I need to get a new wallet.
- 30:02Dayna Roselli: Mine got stolen.
- 30:03Dayna Roselli: Oh jeez.
- 30:04Dayna Roselli: It's not a good year.
- 30:05Dayna Roselli: It hasn't been a good we're helping the fire horse.
- 30:07Dayna Roselli: And I'm gonna open my wallet and and people can just throw money at it.
- 30:11Dayna Roselli: Is that what's supposed to happen?
- 30:13Sean McAllister: Have lettuce thrown at you, just like the dragon.
- 30:16Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: All right, well, there was a lot of demi lavato sightings at Resorts World recently.
- 30:28Dayna Roselli: She was in town to headline TikTok's live fest.
- 30:32Dayna Roselli: And uh apparently she enjoyed some accommodations, spending time at Villa 66.
- 30:37Dayna Roselli: She was taking advantage of the property.
- 30:39Dayna Roselli: She went out to a nice uh Valentine's dinner, an early Valentine's dinner at Carver Steak, went with her husband, Jordan, and so it was nice to see Demi in town.
- 30:50Sean McAllister: And uh Villa 66 is a nice spot to stay.
- 30:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it is.
- 30:55Dayna Roselli: We were did like a little tour once.
- 30:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, we had a little event there, and it was really nice.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 31:02Dayna Roselli: Also, I spotted on Instagram um because I started following Robert Schwartzmann, who's a director, after we went to the Beverly Theater movie preview premiere of The Last Showgirl.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: The last showgirl.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: See, I almost said the life of a showgirl because I'm thinking Taylor Swift.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 31:22Dayna Roselli: The last showgirl.
- 31:23Dayna Roselli: Excellent film with Pamela Anderson.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: They shot it here in Las Vegas.
- 31:27Dayna Roselli: Started following Robert after that, and then saw him post that he's doing a documentary with Wayne Newton now.
- 31:33Sean McAllister: Which, I mean, this is going to be Wayne has such incredible stories coming to Las Vegas at such a young age, performing on Vegas stages.
- 31:45Sean McAllister: I think he started when he was 15.
- 31:47Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 31:48Sean McAllister: You know, when he and he just uh has kept going ever since then.
- 31:53Sean McAllister: The people he's met, the I think he has like uh either a watch or cufflinks from Frank Sinatra.
- 32:01Sean McAllister: You know, we we've each had the opportunity to get to know Wayne and hear some of these stories too, be over at his house, you know, the his big estate.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: I've never been there actually.
- 32:13Sean McAllister: Oh, really?
- 32:14Dayna Roselli: No, I've only well I picked up his sister-in-law.
- 32:17Dayna Roselli: I pulled in once to pick up Trish for an event, and that's it.
- 32:21Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 32:22Sean McAllister: It was such a cool place.
- 32:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I hear it's great.
- 32:24Dayna Roselli: Shenandoah, is that what you're doing?
- 32:26Dayna Roselli: Shenandoah, yeah.
- 32:27Dayna Roselli: He's not there anymore, though.
- 32:28Dayna Roselli: He's not.
- 32:29Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 32:29Dayna Roselli: No, but we're gonna, I'm sure, hear all about it, and it'll be part of the documentary.
- 32:33Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 32:33Dayna Roselli: He showed some great pictures and said he's looking forward to telling the story.
- 32:37Dayna Roselli: So um this will be great.
- 32:40Dayna Roselli: It he called it a film, and so I wasn't sure.
- 32:42Dayna Roselli: He said I'm shooting a film with Wayne Newton, but then he showed a headline and it said it was a documentary.
- 32:49Dayna Roselli: So I'm sure it's a documentary type film on Wayne Newton.
- 32:53Sean McAllister: So yeah, I love it.
- 32:54Sean McAllister: Stay tuned for that.
- 32:55Sean McAllister: That'll be great.
- 32:56Dayna Roselli: Uh, we did mention that we saw Mark Anthony at the Elvis premiere at Westgate.
- 33:00Dayna Roselli: Love that.
- 33:00Dayna Roselli: He was with the owner of Fountain Blue, some other people we ran into.
- 33:03Dayna Roselli: Holly Madison was there, uh, Ivan Kane that owns uh runs Ivan Kane's 40 Deuce over at Mandalay Bay, lots of other familiar faces.
- 33:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was it was just such a great Vegas night.
- 33:17Dayna Roselli: And you could tell when people, did you notice that when a certain someone showed up on screen?
- 33:23Dayna Roselli: I don't know who, maybe it was Elvis.
- 33:25Dayna Roselli: I don't know if it was Elvis' brother, stepbrother, um, or one of his handlers.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: Uh there was a group of people behind us anyway that kept cheering.
- 33:36Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 33:36Dayna Roselli: So I'm assuming they were either in the audience or knew the person, but there were there are people seen in the film that are still with us today.
- 33:43Sean McAllister: They are, and they were there in that room.
- 33:46Sean McAllister: I mean, they have, you know, we were hearing Elvis's recollections of his life and career really for the first time from him, but there were people in the room who actually had those personal experiences, being friends with Elvis, being a part of his crew, part of his team.
- 34:07Sean McAllister: And that is just such uh, I mean, such a unique opportunity, and uh, you know, so grateful to have been able to be there for such a it was a historic event.
- 34:21Dayna Roselli: It really was.
- 34:22Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 34:23Dayna Roselli: Loved it.

- 36:25Sean McAllister: Next episode, we'll come back around to the Nevada State drink.

- 36:30Sean McAllister: Perfect.
