- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Marketplace Proverbs and Coffee with Ernie,
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: where a proverb a day keeps stinking thinking at bay.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Each day we open the book of Proverbs that corresponds to the day of the month
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: and we just ask a simple question.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: What are these scriptures telling us and saying to us as marketplace leaders,
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: customer success masters,
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: co-workers, spouses, and the occasional influencer of culture?
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: So grab your coffee and let's reflect on today's Proverbs.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: I'm reading chapter 22 from Proverbs verse 6 from the Message MSG version.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: This is probably one of the most quoted verses in all of Proverbs.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: I've heard it all of my life and most often applied to parenting.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: But in the marketplace, we've come to see that this verse
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: A little differently in that the children in our world might be our direct reports,
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: our mentees,
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: our customers,
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: or even junior partners or new clients who are watching how we operate.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: And trust me, they are watching.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: And when we train up someone,
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: formally or informally, we're passing on to them more than knowledge.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: We're imprinting culture.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: We're transferring values.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: We're shaping how they see leadership, customer success mastery, service, and integrity.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Customer success mastery at its core is a leadership calling.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: It's not about chasing transactions.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: It's about being the kind of guide that Who helps others get
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: where they're going faster and more effectively than they could have on their own.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: And that's what it means to point your children in the right direction.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Whether we're influencing a team member,
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: a colleague,
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: or a customer,
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: our consistency,
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: our humility, and our walk of integrity are shaping how others move forward.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Years ago, I heard the phrase, quote, a good example is worth a thousand sermons, end quote.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: That has stuck with me.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: And in the musical instrument pro audio industry,
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: and in leadership in general, we don't always need another pitch deck or KPI chart.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we just need to see someone live out what they say and what they believe.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: When our character is our anchor, then our leadership will Becomes a lighthouse.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Integrity isn't about being perfect.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: It's about being consistent.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: It's about being the same person when no one is watching as
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: when everyone else is watching, when we're on the stage.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: And when we lead that way, we create ripple effects we may never see, but others will.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Today's customer success code leadership that lasts is built
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: on integrity that's lived, not just taught.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: I've got some action points for you.
