- 1:56a little bit more comedy, right, because you can see what I
- 1:59mean when I say it, right, you see it on my face,
- 2:01like, Yo, I'm really mad, h Yo, I'm really happy.
- 2:05Whatever it may be. But big shout out to those who have subscribed because
- 2:12we are on the road to five hundred now. Previously I said, you
- 2:17know, we got a couple and then we can get to four hundred.
- 2:23While we're at four oh one now, so five hundred and ninety nine more
- 2:28subscribers is not difficult. Trust me. I subscribe to a ton of different
- 2:34YouTube channels. Some of them are complete nonsense, completely don't put that much
- 2:39into their production. But guess what, I like what they do, so
- 2:44I subscribe. So if you like what you're hearing today, you've watched any
- 2:47of the content, and you check in every now and again, and all
- 2:51that, get that subscribe button and most importantly shared with people, whether it's
- 2:55on Discord or any other social media platform that you know would enjoy this kind
- 3:01of hip hop content. Now, elephant in the room, it's not me,
- 3:07it's you. But last week I had to take a week off.
- 3:14Brother was damn bad. I'm even down bad now, but you know I
- 3:16didn't drugged up, so I'm feeling good. I don't feel anything. But
- 3:23if you've ever had issues with your wisdom too, or any sensitivity with your
- 3:30teeth to the point where it's throbbing, you don't want to talk. You
- 3:37don't want to talk about any you want to talk about hip hop, You
- 3:38want to talk about anything, be anything going on. All I did was
- 3:43tape my thoughts because I didn't want to talk. So I took the week
- 3:47off, which was good, you know, some breathing room. A couple
- 3:51of things happened, So a couple of these stories we have today or thoughts
- 3:55for me are basically me kind of catching up on bigger stories. Obviously,
- 4:01there's some things happening in this week. There's some things that happen, No
- 4:04Diddy, but we don't really talk about stuff like that here, you know,
- 4:09unless we have to. But we rather focus on music in general,
- 4:15right, and what you can go out and play and listen to and your
- 4:18thoughts about hip hop in general. So big shout out to hip Hop dx
- 4:25dot com, all hip hop dot com, and a couple of places where
- 4:29I'm getting some of these stories from. Let's get right into the business though,
- 4:35So this is coming from hip hopdx dot com and it says Nicki Minaj's
- 4:41Q tip and Chuck d back campaign to protect artists from artificial intelligence. Now,
- 4:48everybody listening and everybody watching, there's a reason why I created a show
- 4:54like this. You know why everybody's not following the news. Everybody's not following
- 5:00the trends. Everyone is not in the know. So that being said for
- 5:04the people who don't know, or the people who kind of know but don't
- 5:08really know whatever happens. It kind of was a thing that was trending for
- 5:13a while. When you know, all these ways to generate music for some
- 5:17of your favorite artists using their voice but using artificial intelligence, it got rampant.
- 5:24I mean, dudes was making full blown Drake albums that sound better than
- 5:29the album Drake released. I think when I talked about this before, I
- 5:36did a whole episode on you know, artificial intelligence and what it could mean.
- 5:42But I think it's gotten a little out of hand and it makes me
- 5:47think back. Now, if you're a gamer, you feel me, especially
- 5:50if you're a sports gamer. We're just getting NCAA football back after almost ten
- 6:00years or so of not having it as a part of an annual release like
- 6:03we do with Matt and a lot of that, and not just football,
- 6:08but also NCAA basketball in a way, and that had a lot to do
- 6:14with the fact that using a player's likeness, right ed O'Bannon had a case
- 6:21because he was basically used, as you know, the cover athlete in the
- 6:27Star in a game of nc double A basketball used to play for UCLA really
- 6:33without his permission, Like you know, you're using his likeness in this game
- 6:41and you're making millions of dollars and he's not seeing a dime of it,
- 6:45right, And this is before nil and players getting paid. This is probably
- 6:50part of this is part of the catalysts of that, right of why it's
- 6:55changed, and to me, it's changed for the better. These schools have
- 6:57been making money off these kids forever. But nevertheless, I just remember being
- 7:02in like you know, the comments of videos or forums for it and seeing
- 7:09people who were ignorant to what likeness meant to the point where they were like,
- 7:14Yo, we gotta lose these games just because you know, you know,
- 7:18they use his likeness, Like, what's his problem? What what do
- 7:23you mean? It's his face, it's his career, it's him. If
- 7:28you're going to use something that is uniquely need to sell your game, I
- 7:33need a bag. Right, That's kind of what we're's that's what we're dealing
- 7:41with here. In a lot of ways when it comes to artificial intelligence.
- 7:46If a dude can go and make an entire Drake album, right, it
- 7:53sounds like Drake, like all the way down to the breaths that he takes
- 7:58in his music. You could literally go to a corner of the web where
- 8:05a lot of people probably dwell. But it's not like you're not going to
- 8:09Twitter or anything like that and say, Yo, this is on the low.
- 8:16Drake has this one album he recorded all about love or whatever, you
- 8:22know, you know, how big down and it's never coming out, but
- 8:26I have a copy. Five dollars, two dollars, three dollars. There
- 8:33are people who will believe it. Don't ask no questions, even with knowledge
- 8:39of AI, or they don't have any knowledge of AI because there's a lot
- 8:43of people who just don't know what the news means when they talk about that
- 8:48stuff. So in a lot of ways, you've seen it. You've seen
- 8:52it with deceased rappers, right, this Tupac song, this Biggie song putting
- 8:56Tupac voice on Biggie Records and vice versa, Michael Jackson rapping. You've seen
- 9:01all this craziness in the world of entertainment. You can't do that. But
- 9:09because AI was never factored in this way, especially with a lot of things
- 9:16with the Internet or what artists are going through with streaming, because it was
- 9:20never factored in to their contracts to make an agreement about likeness and usage and
- 9:26blah blah blah that now they're fighting to say, Hey, this is kind
- 9:30of unfair, because what can we do, right, what can you do
- 9:35if Drake puts out an album officially that we don't like, But this other
- 9:41album that this AI guy did that has Drake's voice in his cadence and the
- 9:46type of music he will make, and this album is better. That's going
- 9:52to impact Drake. And I'm just using Drake as an example. Imagine somebody
- 9:56who doesn't have the financial stability of a drink, and they have to battle
- 10:01somebody making something better. It kind of kills momentum, right, And of
- 10:07course there's some people, you know, go get the real thing. But
- 10:11I'm telling y'all the stuff I'm pointing out to Drake Joint because I thought that
- 10:15was the best I heard as far as usage of AI. So it's been
- 10:20pretty crazy. But nevertheless, hits a little bit from the article just to
- 10:24get into a Nicki Minaj, Q, Tip and Chuck the among a huge
- 10:28group of artists supporting a campaign to protect artists from having their music violated by
- 10:33artificial intelligence. An open letter organized by the Artist Rights A Line sets out
- 10:39their opposition to the use of AI within the music industry after tech companies such
- 10:46as YouTube began experimenting AI making tools experimenting with The open letter says we must
- 10:54protect against the predatory use of AI to steal artists' voices and likenesses. The
- 11:00artists also called upon tech companies to not undermine or replace the human artistry of
- 11:05songwriters and artists or deny its fair conversation for our work. So you can
- 11:13check out the whole thing. Then there's even an Instagram for the Artist Rights
- 11:20Alliance the process. So munch of plus artists sign open letter calling on AI
- 11:26developers tech platforms not to devalue music and undermine artist rights. Now, I'm
- 11:37a tech person, so I love new technology. I'm also an artist person,
- 11:43and I totally I don't care what you feel about their music. I
- 11:46totally agree with them because this is what you have to be careful of.
- 11:50When you just say no, it's all good, it's promotion for me,
- 11:56they will make it so you won't see a dime and you won't own it
- 12:00and your AI version supplants you. Right, Yeah, we don't want to
- 12:07sign a new deal with you. We've been working out this thing with this
- 12:11Drake Clone music and actually it's more popular than you, so bye bye whatever.
- 12:18Right, Obviously it would never happen that way, But that's the extreme
- 12:24right where we saw it, where they somebody record label. Oh, this
- 12:28was like a year or so ago a record label signed an AI rapper and
- 12:35everybody went crazy like what what kind of blah blah blah, And it never
- 12:37happened. They only did it because they knew what was coming, right,
- 12:43because what they would want ultimately is to officially create an artists that's popular that
- 12:56they can tweak down to the tea and there's no human emotions with that.
- 13:01Right now, it becomes almost like analytics for music, right that's and it's
- 13:07already like that, to be honest, there's certain like when, for example,
- 13:11when you think about a hit record and you see all these names on
- 13:16it and you don't really hear what was done, Like damn all those people
- 13:20worked on it, Like what they do? Would you hit the one drum
- 13:22and he hit the other? Like what? But there's a lot that goes
- 13:26into that. If you could feed that into an AI software and create the
- 13:37type of artist that is going to get you the money you need because it's
- 13:41going to have the popularity and it's going to be catchy and capture the crowd
- 13:46and become some kind of trendy thing. To do that AI will because for
- 13:52one, you don't have to really pay that AI. Right, maybe you're
- 13:56working with Google and you're paying them. Maybe there's a partnership with them,
- 14:00like there's a way to keep certain artists out because you have ghost writers,
- 14:05right, And just to end it, because I don't want to spend too
- 14:09much time with this but in a lot of ways, what you could do
- 14:16is there's a ton of people I don't care if you're hip hop or now,
- 14:18there's a ton of people who have ghostwriters to a certain level. Right,
- 14:22I'm talking about the successful hit making artists. There's some people who ain't
- 14:26even hit makers. I got them, But you will never know who the
- 14:31ghostwriters are in some instances, right, you can take off an army of
- 14:41writers and really only have one that works in tandem with the AI software.
- 14:48Because in a lot of ways, it's a job waiting to happen, if
- 14:52it hasn't already happened. It's a job that a lot of people are gonna
- 14:56wind up applying for, whether it's on the low or by accident or by
- 15:01proxy. Because if you know how to use the tools, you can get
- 15:07the best out of it. And if you are a songwriter by nature,
- 15:13then you know how to tweak it so it's not off. And this is
- 15:20artificial intelligence is gathering data. It's going and looking looking for data, but
- 15:26it's also gathering data to the point where it's learning what you already know as
- 15:33a songwriter, and soon it won't need you when we give it that command
- 15:39like Yo, write me a song about the sun, moona stars and the
- 15:43pyramids and the conscious rappers coming through the spaceships, and it will it will
- 15:48go ahead and do that. You know how, I know because I've done
- 15:52it. Coming up on my next project, I have a song that will
- 16:04you will show you just what I'm talking about. I've already done it.
- 16:11And is it the greatest song I ever made? No, but it's pretty
- 16:15remarkable to know that I didn't write it. I described it and I let
- 16:25it use my voice and it sounds exactly like me. It's scary, y'all.
- 16:36And it's what Drake says, scary hours. It's scary hours. So
- 16:41I don't know. We'll we'll see, and we'll see if that actually comes
- 16:44out, because if it sounds wack, what's the point. But nevertheless,
- 16:48it's possible. It's very possible, and it's only going to get better as
- 16:52the technology gets smarter and more efficient, and it's going to be easier for
- 16:57anybody to do it. Like I said on my special where I talked strictly
- 17:00about AI, I said, the number one thing that is going to open
- 17:06the door for is if you've always wanted to rhyme and knew what you would
- 17:11talk about, but you just didn't have the skill to put them words together.
- 17:18You don't have to worry. Now, put your voice in the AI
- 17:22machine. You tell them what you want to rap about, right, You
- 17:25want to rap about weed all the time, and it just created even creates
- 17:27the hooks. I'm not lying. So there you have it. What do
- 17:34you think about artificial intelligence? What these artists are doing? Do you agree?
- 17:38Are you afraid of AI and where it could go? I'm kind of
- 17:42back and forth. I'm afraid of it in this instance what I mentioned,
- 17:47but there are other uses for it where it's pretty dope, so we shall
- 17:51see. So while I was out on injuries Nerve list with my dental issue,
- 18:03Rock Marciano dropped his latest album, Marciology. It is a fourteen track,
- 18:11forty six minutes in length album with a lot of production by him.
- 18:18I don't know who else did production, because you know, we don't get
- 18:21credits on these apps anymore, so I would have to do some digging.
- 18:25But nevertheless, I know he did production on it. Guest appearances include Crime,
- 18:32Apple, Larry June, Flea, Lord jay Worthy, and I'm not
- 18:41gonna hold right. You know you know my scale if you don't, my
- 18:48first three listens. My first listen is for impressions. My second listens is
- 18:53sort of to listen a little bit more intently, a little deeper as far
- 18:59as the lyrics and the concepts and the beats and how it all comes together.
- 19:03And the third listen is to confirm my thoughts about the whole project.
- 19:08Well, given I've had more time to listen to this than most albums,
- 19:14I've listened to it a lot. And my fast verdict for those who just
- 19:19want to know how I feel. I don't like it, But let me
- 19:26explain. Is it whack? Not by a long shot? Little YACHTI is
- 19:33whack. I will never say Rock Marciano is little YACHTI never not even close,
- 19:40not even close. But some of y'all like to say he's nice or
- 19:48the best doing it right now as an MC, and I say no,
- 19:53Now, obviously that's your opinion, is my opinion, whatever, But I
- 19:56feel like if I say Ransom is nice, that's the bar for being nice,
- 20:03not the actual bar. But you know that that's the limit, right,
- 20:07and you can be a little bit up under that. You don't have
- 20:10to be as nice as Ransom. But you you could be like, yo,
- 20:12he nice too, right. I feel like my history, well,
- 20:18let me just say this. My history with Rock Marciano is this. When
- 20:22he first came around with Buster and them, I thought he was the nicest
- 20:26one in that crew. I was like, they got somebody, you know
- 20:30next Rod Digger too, but he was another baby. Sham was kind of
- 20:34nice. Let me not front but wait was that his name? I don't
- 20:40know, but I thought Rock Marciano was nice, and a lot of his
- 20:45early projects, especially when I was hosting The Hip Hop Show and be More,
- 20:49you know, I really messed with him, right because hip hop was
- 20:53in a different space and he was doing you know, he was kind of
- 20:59keeping Boom alive in a certain way. But then there was this switch where
- 21:07I had stopped listening and I picked it back up because I heard so many
- 21:11people talking about him and how dope he was, and I remember just liking
- 21:15him. So I was like, yeah, let me listen. And it
- 21:18felt different. It felt like it sounded like a man who to either two
- 21:25things. Because I don't know this man. I don't know what he thinks.
- 21:26I don't know what his motivation is. This is my observation though either
- 21:33he believes his own hype. Therefore he believes whatever he says is going to
- 21:40be hot, which is what I see from a lot of his fans,
- 21:45the big fans, not just anybody who likes it, but big fans or
- 21:52hip hop. And this is true. Hip hop has become so warded down
- 21:59that he's just feeding the machine. Now. When I say that, I
- 22:03mean it's kind of better, Like don't hurt me, but it's kind of
- 22:10better. The more simple you are, the better it is for the listeners,
- 22:15because not everybody can catch your bars like that. Some people have been
- 22:19listening to ours for years and missing all kinds of bars. You know what
- 22:23I'm saying. Listen to the pushr TE. They just because they don't hear
- 22:26it, right, it's so technical whatever. But sometimes when you say something
- 22:30that's cool that they can relate to, you're nice to them because they can
- 22:37recite it, they can repeat it. And that's the thing in hip hop
- 22:42now, like it just makes sense. And that's not new, right,
- 22:48because early on in hip hop it was simplistic, right, but nobody said
- 22:55that it was just catchy. You said the lyrics, you like them,
- 22:59you can relate to him. The end. It was in the nineties and
- 23:02East Coast specifically, when it became really technical and almost became the bar for
- 23:10being dope. Right, if you wasn't this technical with it, you wasn't
- 23:15a lyricist, so you wasn't nice like that. And hip hop has never
- 23:18just been one thing, just never, So on one hand, I feel
- 23:23like, well, maybe that's what it is, because when I listened to
- 23:29rock Marciana Rhyme, I feel like I'm a bigger fan of rock Marciano's production
- 23:36than I am of him as a rapper. I don't think he's bad as
- 23:41a rapper. I think he says a lot of cool shit. Sorry it's
- 23:47a family podcast, cool with whatever. If your kids listening, it didn't
- 23:53happen. But you know what I'm saying. I think he is what the
- 24:00young kids call a vibe. Right to me, I used to call it
- 24:03like mood music, Like if I just want in some boomback and some slick
- 24:07talk, I get it. And honestly, I'm not even mad at anybody
- 24:12who really likes this album or any of the other albums he released, because
- 24:18I say the same thing about Rick Ross. Rick Ross is basically talking about
- 24:23some of the same things all the time, but I like the production,
- 24:27I like the vibe of it. I like, you know, what he
- 24:30says and how he delivers it. So it was almost the same as Rock
- 24:36Marcy. And I know some people get Rock Marxy way better than Rick Ross
- 24:38blah blah blah whatever. All I know is that the first song on this
- 24:48album, Marciology, almost made me turn it off because I was looking for
- 24:53a point in time where I could just be in that kind of mood where
- 24:59you put this boom bap on, you know, take you back to the
- 25:03block on it, that joint and I remember the beat then really catch me.
- 25:07And when Rock Marcy started Ramen, I was like, this is just
- 25:11like that Higgy skit, remember when he was like how nineties rappers be and
- 25:18he was like possible babb it was vegetable eating us. It was just like
- 25:25that. I was like, yoh, what's the what's the difference. And
- 25:30again, I'm not looking for every rapper to to put some kind of puzzle
- 25:36together that I got to figure out, because even I get tired of that
- 25:40and want to hear somebody like a currency or whoever. So in a lot
- 25:45of ways, I was just like oh whatever, And I feel like going
- 25:48through the album, there was more than that I like than I disliked.
- 25:56But I on my listens, I just felt like, I'm listening to this
- 26:02because it's out. It's the center of conversation right now. In the minute
- 26:07something else drops, I'm gonna forget about it, or I'm just gonna go
- 26:12back to the joints that I truly like. Like I said, when my
- 26:17Benny the Butcher joint, Benny the Butcher's album was a letdown for me because
- 26:22I thought it would be better. It wasn't whack. But here we are,
- 26:27and it's one of the albums I go back to and listen because it's
- 26:32enough to satisfy for me. That feel that boom bat field, that street
- 26:37talk, that slick talk, but the bars are just a little bit more
- 26:41potent now. The lead single, which came with a video, what was
- 26:44it called Gold Gold Crossboat rhymen wise is everything I just said. But production
- 26:52wise, man, we already got enough People talk about rock. Marciano is
- 27:02the best rapper. That's cool. I don't agree with y'all, but that's
- 27:03cool. When we talk about boom bat beats, y'all better put some respect
- 27:08on that man, name that man. When I wasn't really like look checking
- 27:14for Stove God and I heard Rose Roy's break lights. It's not just Stove
- 27:22God that makes that song dope. It's that beat, and I'm like,
- 27:26yo, people talk about you know yo, Okay, hit Boy and Nas
- 27:32the dead thing. I want to Premio. I still want my Primo and
- 27:34Nas. No, give me rock Marci on the Beats and Knives. Okay,
- 27:41give me that. If you want to do a new illmatic, gather
- 27:48all of them dudes now and do that right now. I'm not talking about
- 27:52go back to Pete rocking up. No, Like, who's the new crop?
- 27:56You know? Okay, y'all want Darrenger, Okay, Boom Darrenger,
- 28:00rock Marcie for sure, because for all the beats that are on this album,
- 28:07again, I don't know which if he did all of them, I
- 28:11know most of them we did, but some of them I just didn't.
- 28:15I don't know, like you know me the Alchemist they wanted to. But
- 28:18nevertheless, just his production in general, he doesn't have a He has a
- 28:25signature sound, but he doesn't. You feel me like he doesn't have a
- 28:32sound because to me, like Premier became predictable over time, where you just
- 28:37know it's Premier. It kind of has the same rhythm, it's just a
- 28:40different beat. Rock Marcie joints. It's just like it's everywhere, like Yo,
- 28:45if you haven't heard the song gold Crossbow, I don't think I've ever
- 28:49heard a beat like that before. And it reminds me of when I first
- 28:55heard Rizard, when I was like, yo, I don't think I've ever
- 28:57heard beats like this before, or samples like this that you turn into beats.
- 29:03It's pure gutta boom bab and I think in a lot of ways there's
- 29:07some people who love rock Marci because of that, Like it's not really oh
- 29:12well, yeah, he ain't better than Push Your Tea, but the production
- 29:18he does and the way he lays his vocals to it, I mess with
- 29:22that whole vibe. I get it. So when I say it's not good,
- 29:26I'm just saying I don't see myself listening to it for very much longer.
- 29:32To be honest, is it one of the best of the year.
- 29:36Well, at the end of the year, I always revisit the bigger releases
- 29:41the South. The albums that I said were dope, just to you know,
- 29:48check myself and see what happens. So I can't say that I'll be
- 29:52listening to this because I feel there's a lot of boombab artists's category. But
- 30:00I really love the production and I listened to Group Home and I think Rock
- 30:04Marcy is better than both of them. So I mean, I'm saying,
- 30:11what do you want from a brother? But what do you think? Do
- 30:15you like rock Manciano's new album, Marciology? Are you a big rock fan?
- 30:21How do you feel about his bars? What do you think it is
- 30:23about him that his fans gravitate towards What are they Why would they say he's
- 30:30so consistent? What do they really like about him? You know, if
- 30:34you're one of those people leaving comments in the comments section below, I'm no
- 30:37hater. I like to learn why people like certain artists, whether I agree
- 30:42or disagree. I just know what I felt listening to this project. And
- 30:48lastly, so we're not going to spend a whole lot of time on this
- 30:55because I was on injury reserve and I was, you know, a little
- 30:57let to the party, but I wanted to share my thoughts on uh,
- 31:06not just the Kendrick lamar verse going at J Cole and Drake, but just
- 31:11the simple fact that it was on an album called We Don't Trust You but
- 31:18produced by Metro booming with Future as a standout MC, and just the fallout
- 31:26from that, so to speak, and the theories of who's this and who
- 31:33why we ain't heard a response yet. Drake, you know he you know
- 31:38how he go. It's all about I'm not gonna be your friends. Mostly.
- 31:42J Cole is really focused on his tour. The at least that's what
- 31:47it seems, unless he's gonna put it on the upcoming album, which could
- 31:49happen. But and a lot of and and I have spoken about it,
- 31:56but I just have further thoughts because of the Metro him in future part,
- 32:02I feel like, oh, and let's not add well, let's add you
- 32:06know, Rick Ross bumping the Kendrick dish and staring in the camera, and
- 32:10I'm like, Andy, Greg, you got problem and Ross got problems.
- 32:13Now this is the thing in a lot of ways. It's it's made battling
- 32:23and hip hop different because what Kendrick is doing is what we know right,
- 32:30He's being very direct. I'm dissing you in him. Let's go who won
- 32:36it. I don't think he did it and just said I only got a
- 32:39verse. I think he got. I think the clip is full for whoever
- 32:44want to respond when they respond, right. I think J Cole don't even
- 32:51want to do this, which I'm not even mad at him for that.
- 32:57I think part of his reason for saying the Big three was to acknowledge Kendrick.
- 33:01But I think Kendrick don't like Drake, and if damn sure don't like
- 33:07you teaming up with Drake, and I think Drake knew it when he was
- 33:13giving you flowers on stage. I think it makes a lot of sense for
- 33:19a lot of things he was doing that felt like he was gathering allies in
- 33:22some ways, like twenty one Savage and all that, and that a battle
- 33:27was happening, but it wasn't out there. And this album, along with
- 33:34Kendrick's verse, puts it out there. But I gotta say, after we've
- 33:40had some time to breathe, if J Cole responds, it will be in
- 33:46a probably a very mature, you know you or my brother kind of way,
- 33:52which is cool. I don't think it's gonna be vicious at all,
- 33:59and I think Drake will continue to do subliminals and inbrects and like he's doing
- 34:05now. And the one thing that I don't like around this whole situation is
- 34:15people talk about the response time now, and you know, people can talk
- 34:20about whatever they want to talk about, but my whole thing is, like,
- 34:24Okay, in battles in the past, and I'm talking about just hip
- 34:29hop history, responses didn't happen right away. They just didn't like they happened,
- 34:36and you waited right Sometimes you waited months before that person actually responded,
- 34:42and then it just kicked things back up. I think when Drake did Back
- 34:46to Back it was the first time. That's what makes that song have so
- 34:54much power because everybody was anticipat and and then Drake just said what we were
- 35:01thinking when he was going. When he was you know, he put out
- 35:04that one record which nobody remembers this and Meek and then when it it was
- 35:08like a week later, he put out Back to Back, you know,
- 35:13like, Okay, y'all take him forever, here's another disc record, right,
- 35:17So it kind of felt like Drake changed the expectations for responses with his
- 35:24battling all the time. But I think with this one, it's difficult for
- 35:30him to just jump in because he know Kendrick is not Kendrick ain't on that
- 35:36type of time. Kendrick is probably ready. He probably been ready when he
- 35:42did. Like, that's probably light. That birds is probably light compared to
- 35:45what he holding waiting for you to jump out the window. And honestly,
- 35:52it's kind of smart for them to take their time and be measured if they're
- 35:57gonna say something, because you you want whatever your response to be to have
- 36:01enough of an impact to at least make it debatable. Right, even if
- 36:08Kendrick comes out with a song that's better afterwards, at least you can have
- 36:14people can argue for what you did. Because if you jump out the window
- 36:20real quick and you make something that's kind of weak and this man come out
- 36:23with another one, he reads you up and down, it is over.
- 36:28There's nothing you ask jay Z ask jay Z takeover. There was only one
- 36:37verse that was about Nines that it had four verses, only one of them
- 36:40joints was about Nines. Ethe was all about jay Z, but it took
- 36:47months to come out. And jay Z try to off emotions, try to
- 36:52jump in the booth and did super ugly at first. It wasn't the original
- 36:57beat and two. It was probably one of his worst performances is especially as
- 37:00a dude who can battle, because it was all emotions jump out the window
- 37:06and everybody knew it. Even the stands knew it. They try to rewrite
- 37:08history, but we know what happened. We were there. He lost.
- 37:13Okay, he said it, but it could have been better because then jay
- 37:20Z could have said, oh, here's my full song now. Instead we
- 37:24had to wait a year later where the damage was already done. Most people
- 37:31don't even remember that the song Blueprint two is essentially like a dis record towards
- 37:38nons. If that would have dropped closer to when Etha dropped, it would
- 37:45have been a different conversation. But because he had already put super ugly out
- 37:49and that became the response, the ref was like yo, like what they
- 37:52do in WWE with the axes, Like nah, man, this dude hurt,
- 37:57Come help. So I don't know. I'm at this point. I
- 38:04was kind of I was hyped when that Kendrick joint came out. Obviously Kendrick's
- 38:07my favorite artist, but I like the other two just as much. I
- 38:12got a lot of their music, if not all of it. But then
- 38:16there's a part of me that feels like, I don't know. This is
- 38:21kind of getting corny because as good as Drake has been in most of his
- 38:27battles, even whether you feel he won or lost, I'm kind of tired
- 38:31of seeing him. And I don't think Kendrick and j Cole will have the
- 38:38same type of energy as two people who really don't like each other. You
- 38:45know, you know they're having a difference of opinions, but them brothers will
- 38:51their two temperaments. They would come right back together and be Paul's okay and
- 38:57be cool and nobody would care. Like with jay Z and Nows, people
- 39:00don't want to let that go. Tubac and Diggie, they ain't even really
- 39:04bad on people don't want to let that go. And it'd be nice.
- 39:07Old fans can debate here and there, but it's nothing like to catch.
- 39:14You know, who didn't mess with each other in the beginning don't really mess
- 39:17with each other now. So we'll see what do y'all think. Y'all waiting
- 39:22for, you know, Drake and Jacoble to say something. Maybe they've already
- 39:27said something, and you know, this whole thing coming out when it's coming
- 39:30out. This podcast needs absolutely nothing anymore. Let's talk about it in a
