- 0:00Speaker 1: Back with cracking head coach leih Lambert lane. You get
- 0:03Speaker 1: the point in Montreal state unbeaten in regulation on the
- 0:06Speaker 1: young season. Just take us back through that sixty five
- 0:09Speaker 1: minute effort for Seattle.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Oh well, you know, you used a good word there, effort.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I thought. I thought the effort was there all night.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I didn't think I didn't think that was a problem.
- 0:20Speaker 2: That's what we asked for, first and foremost out of
- 0:22Speaker 2: our hockey team every night. I thought we got it.
- 0:26Speaker 2: I thought we made a couple of mistakes, and you're
- 0:28Speaker 2: gonna make mistakes, you know. But I thought we made
- 0:31Speaker 2: a couple of mistakes that we shouldn't have and they
- 0:38Speaker 2: ended up, you know, they ended up in the back
- 0:40Speaker 2: of our net. And that was the biggest difference I
- 0:43Speaker 2: think between the first game and the second game. In
- 0:46Speaker 2: the third game is just, you know, our mistakes cost us,
- 0:49Speaker 2: whereas you know, against Vegas or Anaheim, you know, we
- 0:53Speaker 2: didn't make quite as many mistakes, and you know, it
- 0:56Speaker 2: wasn't quite as costly. But I thought the effort was there.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I thought it was a good hockey game for the
- 0:59Speaker 2: most part. In a you know, in a pretty hostile environment.
- 1:03Speaker 1: What do you make of your team's ability to get
- 1:05Speaker 1: down a goal, tie the game, down a goal, tie
- 1:07Speaker 1: the game, continue to battle back all night long, and
- 1:10Speaker 1: like you said, in spite of all of those mistakes,
- 1:12Speaker 1: find a way to salvage a point and put yourself
- 1:15Speaker 1: in the best position to win through sixty five minutes.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Well, I mean, that's just part of continuing to do
- 1:21Speaker 2: what you do for the entire game and not deviating
- 1:26Speaker 2: from the plan. You can't get discouraged if you go
- 1:29Speaker 2: down a goal, and our guys did a great job
- 1:32Speaker 2: of continuing to come back, and you know, eventually we
- 1:35Speaker 2: took the lead, and you know we we couldn't close
- 1:39Speaker 2: it out. We didn't close it out. Those are things
- 1:42Speaker 2: again that as we progress here, we have to, you know,
- 1:45Speaker 2: make sure that we do a better job of doing.
- 1:48Speaker 2: But at the same time, there's two teams out there
- 1:51Speaker 2: and you know they're trying to tie it, We're trying
- 1:54Speaker 2: to make sure that we keep the lead, and you know,
- 1:56Speaker 2: it just didn't work out for us in that particular night.
- 1:58Speaker 2: But again, three games in, we've done a pretty good
- 2:03Speaker 2: job of our work ethic and trying to build and
- 2:07Speaker 2: do some things that we've talked about since day one.
- 2:09Speaker 2: A training count. Is it perfect no? Will it be perfect?
- 2:12Speaker 1: No? But you know that effort is the Jannie Newman
- 2:15Speaker 1: gets his first goal of the season and that four
- 2:18Speaker 1: flying really has been an energy catalyst. That seems like
- 2:21Speaker 1: through these first three games, what have you made of
- 2:23Speaker 1: their play? Centered by Freddie Gutjo with Carts along with Newman.
- 2:26Speaker 2: There very good. You know, I knew Freddy coming in
- 2:29Speaker 2: was a valuable piece in the role he was going
- 2:33Speaker 2: to play. Carts and Freddie are the first two over
- 2:36Speaker 2: the boards on Pentalley kills and they're getting better and
- 2:38Speaker 2: better at it. And then Yanni's add a little element
- 2:43Speaker 2: of size to that line, and you know, and he's
- 2:46Speaker 2: got an offensive ability. So for me, it was nice
- 2:49Speaker 2: to see Yanni get to the net. You know he's
- 2:54Speaker 2: got the shot, but at the end of the day,
- 2:56Speaker 2: you have to get to the net in this league
- 2:58Speaker 2: to score goals. And know, it was a good job
- 3:01Speaker 2: by him to get there and a really good job
- 3:02Speaker 2: by Cards to throw it there. So the line has
- 3:05Speaker 2: been good for us.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Looking at the Audible Senators, you talked about this earlier
- 3:09Speaker 1: this morning about their prowess in the face off circle.
- 3:11Speaker 1: They're missing a couple of big pieces, mainly in Brady Kachuk.
- 3:15Speaker 1: What type of issues do they present to this cracking
- 3:17Speaker 1: team tonight.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Well, they're they're a good hockey team, you know, They're
- 3:22Speaker 2: I don't even think you can call them an up
- 3:24Speaker 2: and coming hockey team anymore. They're here. You know, they
- 3:28Speaker 2: proved that last season, and they proved that in a
- 3:30Speaker 2: very hard fought playoff series against Toronto. And you know
- 3:36Speaker 2: they they play fast and they play hard, you know,
- 3:41Speaker 2: so there's there's a pair of elements there that you
- 3:45Speaker 2: know can be dangerous. They've got good power play and
- 3:49Speaker 2: you know they've got some skills. So you know, we
- 3:51Speaker 2: have to make sure that we understand that we manage
- 3:54Speaker 2: the game, manage the game properly, and as as always,
- 3:59Speaker 2: we have to do our our job, continue with our
- 4:01Speaker 2: work ethic, and continue with our identity. You know, our
- 4:05Speaker 2: our offense will piggyback off off of our defense, all right,
