Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hello, friend.
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for being a part of the broadcast today.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_01]: You're listening to Bible Trek echoes on Evangelist Michael McCurray and I have two treats for you today.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, I'm going to read a testimony, a salvation testimony from all the way back in nineteen ninety three.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like still long ago, doesn't it?
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not for some of us, but nineteen ninety three miss Bridget in New Jersey tells us how she accepted Christ as a result of a gospel track whose name you might have heard before.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's called the New Birth, but here's what Miss Bridget had to say.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: We asked her, how did you come to know the Lord?
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: And she said, she starts the letter with, I don't mind telling you.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: I work as a waitress in a restaurant, and I have read the Bible sometimes, and I prayed, but really it was just reciting our father, which aren't having, you know, the Lord's prayer.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: But I knew something was missing.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I've been looking for God, but I couldn't seem to find him.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: I went to the local Roman Catholic Church where my family and I are registered as members, but still felt like God was not with me there.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: Well, another waitress received a copy of the new birth, and just scoffed and mocked at it.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: Hung it up in the kitchen of the restaurant on a board there.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: I picked it up and I read it.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: I read it over and over and over again while I worked that evening.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: Every chance I could.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: I came home that evening and put on a Christian television station as well.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: They both told me to read the book of John in the Bible.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Prior to that I only seemed to have read the Old Testament.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: I and recited the prayer that was on the back of the New Birth.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: I got on my knees and I begged the Lord Jesus for help.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: I asked him to help me receive him and to take control of my life and save me.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: And now I feel his help.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: Then I wrote on the back of the Bible track there and sent it off to you and you have now corresponded with me.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: She goes on to say that I have begun to attend a church that you recommended and
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: I have questions and she goes into asking how she can witness to her husband who's an unsaved man doesn't know Christ she asks, how she can raise her two boys in the nurture and admonition of Lord Bridget does here.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: She says at the end, thank you so much for that gospel track of the new birth.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: Bridget from New Jersey.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: What a joy to hear how God has changed lives as a result of this ministry in years past and in the present.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: We've had dozens and dozens of prisoners get saved.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: We have weekly gospel tracks come in that people have let us know they've gotten saved as a result of those gospel tracks.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: I have a question for you.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: Do you use gospel tracks?
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you do.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: I have another question for you.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: Are you going to heaven, God's way?
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: Dr. Paul Levine, now he's the founder of not only this radio broadcast, but Bible tracks incorporated.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're interested in getting some of our gospel tracks for free, we've been putting them out that way for over eighty years.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: You can get them for free by going to Bibletracksink.org.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: But if you don't know for sure that you're going to heaven, God's way, will you listen to this broadcast today?
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: He admonishes you, Dr. Paul does, to make sure of the way that you are going to have and make sure that it's God's way in His alone.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: We cannot, and we should not even try to save ourselves.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Will you listen, as Dr. Paul preaches to us?
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: If you ever go to heaven, you're going to go there on the basis that God gives you heaven as a gift.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: And so quit trying to earn your way to heaven by being good.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: You can't make it that way anymore.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, no matter how good you are, no matter how religious you are, you'll never get to heaven that way.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: Even if you're the best person in the world, morally, and the best person in the world religiously, you're still dying your sins and be lost if you try to get to heaven by being good or by being religious.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: Let me ask you a question.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: Look, if you go to heaven by being religious, how religious do you have to be?
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: You don't really know to you.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, then you can never know for sure.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to heaven.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_02]: You'd never get the nine hope.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_02]: You just had that verb open.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: You just be hoping all the time.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: Let me ask you another question.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: If you have to be morally good to go to heaven, how good do you have to be?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: And about the only good answer you could get to that would be, I guess I'd have to be perfect.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_02]: And you know you're not perfect.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: If you don't, you're husband those.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_02]: Your husband, your wife knows it, your kids know it, your parents know it, the ones who know you the best know you're not perfect.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: And you know it too.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're going to go to heaven on the basis of being righteous or moral, then how good you have to be, you have to be perfect, you're not perfect.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: So what change you have a bone heaven?
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: See, you don't have any chance to go and heaven if you're going to go there by being good, and you don't have any chance to go and heaven by being there religious.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: So why don't you just go to heaven God's way?
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: You see, what's that?
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: All right?
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you asked.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be glad to have you on this.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: All right, look.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: Number one, admit your sinner.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: All have sinned to come short of the glory of God.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's what the Bible said.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: Will you say I'm not a big sinner?
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to be a big sinner to go to hell.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to be a murderer.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to be an adulterer.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_02]: But the Bible says, all have sinned.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_02]: It took one sin to drive Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: All the one.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: And it'll only take one sin to keep you out of heaven, just one.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: And you've got one sin on your record, then you're in a bad fix.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_02]: God's not going to take it to heaven with one sin on your record.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_02]: So I admit you're a sinner like the Bible says.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_02]: Then believe that the wages, the penalty of sin is death.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: All right, then believe that Jesus Christ bore your death on the cross.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: Did you know Jesus Christ went to the cross for you who is on self bare our sins and his own body on the tree?
- 6:24[SPEAKER_02]: Christ also suffered for sins that just for the unjust that he might bring us to God.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_02]: Believe that he died in your place bearing your sins on the cross.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: And then he rose again.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: Now, now look, Jesus Christ bore your sins.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: Took your death upon himself.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: Now he's your life.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: Now we're used for both to do admit your sinner and trust in him the Savior.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: And then God will give you salvation and give you forgiveness and someday give you heaven.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: Now then, that's where you get saved.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: Now what kind of hope do you have tonight?
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have the non-hope?
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: You say, bless God.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the false one day I accepted Jesus Christ.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: I know I'm saved because he says so.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: And I have the certain assurance of heaven.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: I have the non-hope.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: Or are you still hoping to make it somehow?
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: I got news for you.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: If you're trying to get there by hoping to get there, you're not going to get there at all.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I hope you understand what we're trying to say.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: One day, there was a radio announcer, when I don't know street corners of the Moan Islands, there's stop as many people as he could stop as they walked by and ask him two questions.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: A preacher, friend of mine, happened to be tuned in and he heard this broadcast.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: He heard him stop eleven people and ask him two questions.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_02]: Question number one, sir, when you died, you expected to go to heaven, or lady,
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever, you expect to go to him when you die, and all eleven of them said yes.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: Then when his radio notes are said, now, on what basis of all of me carefully here, on what basis do you believe that when you die, you're going to go to heaven?
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: All eleven of him had the wrong answer.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: All eleven of them, they weren't any of them say.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_02]: They all thought they were.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_02]: Eleven people thought they were going to heaven.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: Eleven people were not going to heaven.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: You should hide in all because you had the wrong answer.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone, I'm was trying to get to heaven by being good or by being religious.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: And one by one is they came by.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_02]: The preacher told me you were hurt about death.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_02]: When you die, you're going to have it?
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I didn't know.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I've been good on my life.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: I pay my bills.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a good husband.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a good wife.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a good parent.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: I go to church.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: I've joined church.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_02]: I've been baptized.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a deacon.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm doing the best I can.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sincere.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm moral.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: See?
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: And everyone, I'm taught that I being moral and sincere and religious, that we're going to go to heaven.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't have the right answer at all.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_02]: Now, what would your answer be?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: supposing you were walking down the street and radio announcer stopped you and said lady or mister when you died you expect to go to heaven and you'd say yes then he'd say oh what basis do you believe that hiding all you're going to have when you die then what would you say what would be your answer then now look if you come up with a wrong answer then it shows that you're not really trusting Jesus Christ is saving you're not saved at all you better be sure you got the answer straight
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: because God's not impressed at all with just church membership and religion.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: You only have to get saved God's way or not at all.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: This very important, and that's why the Bible says, be ready to give an answer.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: Now supposing, supposing this radio answer where to stop you and ask you, if you're saved.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: There's only three answers you could give.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_02]: You would either say, I know I am lost.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: I am lost.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: I know I am lost.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: I know I am lost.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: I know I'm a sinner.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: The Bible says, I'm a sinner and I know it.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: My conscience says so.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: My memory says so.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I know I'm a sinner and I'm lost.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: And if I died right now, I lose my soul forever in hell and I'm lost and I know it.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: Well, now that's one answer.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: And my friend, if you are lost, it's a good thing you know it.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: God can't save people who don't owe their loss.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: The Lord said, it's only six people that need a position.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a good thing if you're lost, it's a good thing you know it.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: Isn't that right, Brother Kelly?
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: Insert.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: That's one answer.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: Now what's the answer?
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: What's another answer?
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: Another answer would be, are you saying you're going to happen tonight?
- 10:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_02]: How do you know?
- 10:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just not, I'm not really sure.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_02]: How I know I'm going to go to heaven.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: I really don't know if I'm going to go to heaven or not.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm lost on a note or you say I don't know whether I'm saved or not.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't know.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: Now if you're in that fixed tonight, don't be embarrassed about that.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: You can get that fixed in the next few minutes.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to freeze very long.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to give you an invitation to let us take a Bible and show you how to accept Christ and go out of this building tonight saying, bless God.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: Now I know for sure I'm going to have one I die.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: And you won't go out of here with a verb hope hoping to get to heaven.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: You'll go out of here with a noun hope with a positive assurance of heaven someday.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: Man, that's good news, Pastor.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we're used to it, see?
- 11:08[SPEAKER_02]: But a lot of folks are shutting down the streets.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: They don't know that you can know for sure you're going to heaven.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: So then what's the third answer?
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: One answer is, I'm lost in the North.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: The other answer is, I don't know what I'm saying or not.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: The third answer is, let's God I'm saved and I know.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saved.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm on my way to heaven in the North.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: Paul said, I know whom I have lead.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: Realize our dear listener that the message that you just heard a snippet from that will go further in depth into tomorrow and Friday of this week abroad casts is a message from nineteen seventy five preached at the Great Franklin Road Baptist Church of many years ago, but realize that everything that Dr. Paul Levine said is still true today.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't know Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I'd love for you to contact me.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Now tomorrow on the broadcast, I'll be completely honest with you.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: It is a tear jerker.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: Dr. Paul gives us an illustration, a true story that absolutely caused my eyes to well up.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you'll join me in listening.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: But if you would, I'd like you to think for yourself.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Do I know Christ?
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't, I'm gonna give you my text number very slowly one time.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like you to text me.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to communicate with you.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: Here it is.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: My text number is as follows.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: Three, zero, nine, three, one, six, seven, two, four, zero.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: Contact me if you would.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: God bless.
