Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
0:05
Hope everybody had a great weekend out there, and hopefully
0:07
you all have a fantastic Monday.
0:10
Speaker 3: On deck.
0:12
Speaker 1: Today, we're gonna go back and talk a little bit
0:14
more about Jeffrey Epstein's death in jail and how the
0:18
lead lawyer at the time, Doug Shown, didn't think it
0:22
was suicide. Now, we've talked about this before, but we
0:26
haven't talked about this in quite some time. And since
0:30
we've been talking about what happened in the jail with
0:33
Nicholas Tartaglioni, I thought that it would be fitting to
0:36
add this episode to the catalog and discuss what Doug
0:40
Shown had to say once again. So let's just dive
0:44
right into this article from the Daily Mail and let's
0:48
see what's going on. Headline exclusive. It was a homicide,
0:53
but I don't know who killed him. Jeffrey Epstein's lawyer
0:56
says his pedophile client was upbeat and excited about to
1:00
clear his name, but lived in fear of a violent
1:04
former cellmate. Huh, I wonder who that could be? Could
1:08
that possibly be Nicholas Tartaglioni, You know the guy who
1:13
was in jail for quadruple murder, a guy who was
1:16
fired from the police force, a guy who beat up
1:20
a local journalist.
1:21
Speaker 3: You know that guy.
1:23
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's the guy they're talking about. I ask
1:26
you once again, what was Jeffrey Epstein doing in a
1:30
jail cell with Nicholas TARTAGLIONI. Nobody can answer that question,
1:35
and nobody has. This article was authored by Dan Bates
1:41
and it was originally published on May twentieth. Excuse me,
1:46
May twenty sixth of twenty twenty. Jeffrey Epstein did not
1:51
kill himself because he was preparing a multi layered legal
1:54
and media strategy to fight his case, the late Pedophiles
1:58
lawyer has claimed. David Shoon, who Epstein asked to lead
2:01
his legal team in his final days, said he planned
2:04
to mount legal and factual defenses to the sex trafficking
2:08
allegations against him. During a five hour meeting with Epstein
2:12
nine days before his death, shown said Epstein was upbeat
2:16
and excited and looking forward to clearing his name. Now
2:19
we have heard this from a multitude of people, several
2:23
of the lawyers, psychologists, people who were talking to him
2:26
around this time, and nobody said anything about him being suicidal. Now,
2:32
does that mean that he wasn't suicidal, Of course not.
2:36
Maybe he was good at hiding it. Maybe he didn't
2:39
realize he was suicidal to the day that he was
2:42
very possible. Again, I haven't discounted anything here because I
2:47
don't know. I wasn't in that jail cell, and I
2:49
haven't seen any evidence that would really point me in
2:52
the direction of diving in one way or the other.
2:55
So this is a question that is still unanswered and
2:58
still worthy of this discussion all of these years later.
3:03
But according to the people around him, he certainly was
3:06
not suicidal, and that includes psychologists and his lawyer. But
3:12
Epstein was in a dangerous situation in jail and suggested
3:15
other prisoners were considering blackmailing them. They would see them
3:19
on TV inside the prison and tell Epstein seventy million
3:22
dollar mansion. Huh Shan speaks out in a new documentary
3:25
about Epstein about Epstein's death called Who Killed Jeffrey Epstein.
3:30
The first episode began streaming online on an Investigation Discovery
3:34
on Monday and will be premiered on TV on May
3:38
thirty first, So you can obviously find this on the
3:40
Investigation Discovery Channel. It's been out for a while now.
3:44
Decent documentary touches on things we've been talking about for
3:47
quite some time. And you know, all of these documentaries
3:50
are pretty much the same.
3:51
Speaker 3: They're just a gateway, right.
3:53
Speaker 2: They open the doorway for you to dig a little
3:56
bit deeper and go a little bit further if that's
3:59
what you're inclined to do. The three part series questions
4:03
whether or not the financier pedophile took his own life
4:07
last August while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, As
4:11
the official autopsy claimed, Epstein's death sparked a slew of
4:15
conspiracy theories, which were bolstered by the apparent failures at
4:19
the prison where he was being held. See for me,
4:22
that's the crux of it. I don't know how you
4:24
can call something a conspiracy theory when all of these
4:27
things happened to fail at the very same time and
4:30
there's no logical explanation coming from the authorities. Now, if
4:34
the authorities had lodged a logical explanation for what happened here,
4:39
it was operator error. Somebody erased it on purpose. You know,
4:43
I'd be much more inclined to listen to what's going
4:45
on as far as their narrative, but the stuff that
4:48
they're trying to tell us, it just doesn't seem feasible
4:52
that all of this stuff could happen at the same time.
4:57
And until they provide something more concrete, they're not gonna
5:00
have too many people believe what they have to say,
5:03
especially when you have guys like Doug shown out here
5:06
talking so confidently as if Jeffrey Epstein did not take
5:10
his own life. The guards of the Metropolitan Correctional Center
5:15
in Manhattan allegedly did not check on them all night,
5:18
and the cameras outside of his cell were not working.
5:21
So you have redundancies right in prison. You have guards,
5:24
you have other guards, you're supposed to have their boss sergeant,
5:28
and then you have the cameras keeping an eye on everything.
5:31
Speaker 3: Now, what are the chances?
5:32
Speaker 1: Okay, if you're a statistician out there, somebody who's good
5:35
at math, which I am not, what are the odds
5:39
of all of that happening and occurring at the same time,
5:43
I would think that they would be astronomical. You mean
5:46
to tell me that the backup system to the backup
5:48
system failed and all the other redundancies you have in place.
5:52
None of them could catch this, and they kept failing
5:55
afterwards after he was already found dead.
6:00
Speaker 3: That sure is a pretty big leap, and.
6:01
Speaker 1: It's pretty amazing that someone would call anyone a conspiracy
6:05
theorists because they have some questions surrounding how this clown died.
6:12
Shown is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and has been giving
6:14
Epstein sporadic legal advice for eleven years before his arrest
6:18
last July. He claims that despite his vast finances, Epstein's
6:22
legal team was in turmoil and he sought out Shown
6:25
to lead them to trial. Speaking to Delhimail dot com,
6:30
Shown even called Jay Lefkowitz, one of Epstein's longtime lawyers,
6:33
a numskull.
6:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, I could agree with that. Left.
6:36
Speaker 1: Kowitz, by the way, is the one who confirmed that
6:39
Jeffrey Epstein gave millions and millions of dollars to the
6:43
Clinton Global Initiative to help it get off the ground.
6:46
It'd be nice to have some questions surrounding that, huh.
6:50
Central to Epstein's legal strategy was that the prosecution in
6:55
New York was the same one from two thousand and
6:57
eight for which he agreed to a plea deal. With
7:00
the federal prosecutors. Sean explained, Epstein asked me to take
7:03
over the whole case, and that they discussed factual rebuttals.
7:08
As we know now, that would have never worked out
7:10
for them as far as their defense in this case.
7:13
Trying to use what happened in Florida to defend them
7:16
in New York. It was never going to work out
7:19
for them.
7:19
Speaker 3: Now.
7:20
Speaker 1: It might have given them a bit of an umbrella
7:21
down in Florida, but if you're committing these crimes and
7:24
other districts, that deal doesn't follow you to these other districts.
7:29
It's not carte blanche to go out and commit whatever
7:32
crimes you want.
7:35
Speaker 3: He said.
7:36
Speaker 1: People who were coming forward he'd never seen before and
7:39
had nothing to do with. I thought he was getting
7:41
killed in the media. When he could respond, he should
7:44
at least explain and respond. There was a miserable failure
7:47
to do so, and his lawyers were dysfunctional. The plan
7:51
to push back including appealing to the public sense of
7:53
fairness because Epstein had not been formally accused of anything
7:57
since two thousand and five. Again, the strategy was to
8:01
try and sugarcoat what he did, not that he was
8:03
innocent not that he didn't do any of this, but
8:06
let's try and find some technicalities and loopholes here to
8:08
try and maneuver ourselves, and let's try and pressure the
8:12
public into thinking Epstein's being unfairly persecuted.
8:16
Speaker 3: Give me a break.
8:19
Speaker 1: Sean wanted to talk about the political pressure that led
8:22
to Epstein's arrest and the extortion attempts by survivors lawyers.
8:26
In one case, a lawyer supposedly sent Epstein a letter
8:29
demanding twenty five million dollars to make the survivor's claims
8:33
go away. Epstein did not pay, So what's the big
8:36
deal with that? I don't I don't understand. If he
8:38
abused them and they're trying to get some dough out
8:41
of him, that's the way this works. I mean, if
8:44
we lived in a really just society, he'd be going
8:46
to prison the first time he diddled somebody. But unfortunately
8:51
we know that, you know, these the men of always
8:54
the only punishment they ever have is financially, they get
8:57
hit with some penalties and shit, very rarely to be
8:59
people like this go to jail.
9:01
Speaker 3: So of course, if you're abused.
9:03
Speaker 1: By somebody like Epstein, you're gonna try and get some
9:05
money out of the situation as well, and you should.
9:08
It's no different than say you get abused by the church.
9:12
That is pretty much your only recourse, right and the
9:15
way people's lives are destroyed by these sexual assaults. Do
9:19
you know how much money that it costs these folks
9:22
to go to therapy and try and get their mind
9:24
right after they had their whole lives destroyed by people
9:27
like Epstein. So the whole money conversation is a bit ridiculous.
9:31
Have you taken a look at the price to go
9:33
see a psychiatrist lately? Sean said, at least I wanted
9:41
people to report on the fact how much lawyers were
9:43
making off this thing. I do hope that some people
9:46
agree that some of these women were some of these
9:49
women tricked him.
9:50
Speaker 3: I don't agree with that.
9:51
Speaker 1: Now, are there women out there that might have tried
9:54
to use this situation and manipulate it for their own benefit,
9:57
I'm sure there are. But when we're talking about a
10:01
guy like Jeffrey Epstein and the fact that lawyers were
10:05
making a lot of money off of this thing, there
10:07
is no doubt about that. I've talked about the lawyers
10:10
on both sides of this for quite some time, and
10:13
how I feel like it's been a big money grab
10:15
for everybody involved. That goes for David Boys and his
10:19
firm as well. Let's not forget that these lawyers, they
10:24
have a job to do. They got to feed their families, right,
10:26
They're trying to get paid. That's the motivation at the
10:29
end of all of this, at the end of this rainbow,
10:32
they're hoping for the pot of gold. During their five
10:38
hour meeting at mcc on August first, Epstein and Shown
10:42
had mapped out a strategy and he was upbeat and excited.
10:45
Sean said, we were in the area where prisoners meet lawyers.
10:49
At one point a prison psychiatrist came in and asked
10:51
me to leave so she could talk to Epstein on
10:54
his own. They talked for five minutes, and he seemed relaxed.
10:58
He was smiling as she left. He had plans to
11:01
really fight this case. He made arrange arrangements to hire me.
11:05
And you don't hire a guy like Doug Shoan, or
11:07
make arrangements to hire a guy like Doug Shoan if
11:09
you're not going to fight the case, you don't just
11:11
bring this guy on and then say to yourself Oh well,
11:14
that's the end of it. I'm gonna kill myself. Shoan
11:19
did not reveal the contents of his discussions with Epstein,
11:22
but said Glen Maxwell, his alleged madam, co conspirator, general
11:26
all around scusbag, fellow child abuser, never came up. Epstein
11:30
had a lot of powerful friends who did favors for
11:33
who he did favors for, and Shoan was disappointed they
11:37
did not offer to help him after his arrest. Imagine that,
11:40
Imagine thinking that people should come to Jeffrey Epstein's rescue
11:44
after his arrest because he did favors for them, and
11:47
you see the danger of doing favors for somebody like
11:50
Epstein in the first place. He said, I'd hope that
11:55
Prince Andrew would be the one guy who stood up
11:58
and said he was a friend. I didn't know anything
12:00
about it. Instead, the Duke distance himself from Epstein in
12:03
a BBC interview a few months after he died. When
12:07
Shoan learned Epstein had been found dead, he immediately told
12:10
his legal team to hire a renowned pathologist, Michael Boden,
12:14
to be present for the autopsy. Boden was brought on
12:18
board and concluded that Epstein's injuries were not consistent with
12:21
suicide by hanging, as the New York Medical Examiner said. Instead,
12:27
Boden believes the broken bone in Epstein's neck suggests he
12:30
had been killed. Now, look again, I was not in
12:33
this jail cell. I'm not one of these people that's
12:36
going to sit here and tell you with concrete certainty
12:39
one way or the other what happened here. I don't know,
12:44
but I'll tell you what I certainly want to find out.
12:47
And the fact that nobody's really talking about what happened
12:50
here anymore is pretty crazy to me. We have a
12:54
lot to go on, and the fact that this Tartaglioni
12:57
clown is being pretty much look at as a secondary
13:01
person in the story, whereas I think he's a key
13:04
player at least as far as what happened in this
13:07
jail is just mind boggling to me. How could people
13:10
not find this absolutely bizarre? As Sean says in the documentary,
13:18
I think it was a homicide, but I don't know
13:20
who killed him. Sean said he was especially concerned about
13:23
Epstein's former cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglioni, a hulking X cop accused
13:28
of four murders. Now we're going to talk more about
13:30
Tartaglioni later on today I have a couple of more
13:33
articles to talk about that goes a little bit deeper
13:36
into his relationship with some other people. There was another
13:40
ex cop that he was involved with, a man named
13:42
the White Rhino, who ended up killing himself when the
13:46
police pulled him over the FBI to arrest him, and
13:49
it was found out later that he was connected to
13:52
Tartaglioni and they were involved in some kind of drug
13:55
deals together. So this goes a lot deeper with Tartaglioni,
13:58
and he certainly has the makeup of somebody who was
14:01
not scared to kill somebody or to threaten somebody. Tartaglioni.
14:11
Tartaglioni was Epstein's cell mate during his first apparent suicide
14:15
attempt on July twenty third last year, and some reports
14:19
suggested he beat Epstein up, a claim his lawyer strongly denied.
14:23
Speaker 3: Here's the thing for me.
14:24
Speaker 1: Okay, they're in a little ass jail cell together. Right
14:27
picture this if you will. You have Tartaglioni and Epstein
14:30
in a jail cell together. Okay, Now, according to Tartaglioni.
14:34
He says, Jeffrey Epstein tried to kill himself. Well, they're
14:38
in this cell together. How is it possible that Epstein
14:42
could go through all of the steps of preparing to
14:44
kill himself, getting a noose ready, tying it to the bedpost,
14:47
and then attempting the act without Tartaglioni seeing him. Because
14:52
Tartaglioni says he stopped Epstein from killing himself as Epstein
14:56
was committing the act. So what did you just sit
14:58
there as he was going through the process and watch
15:02
him do it? See, it doesn't make sense to me.
15:04
If he was going to stop Epstein from trying to
15:06
kill himself, why would he wait for Epstein to actually
15:09
try and commit the act. Wouldn't he stop him before
15:11
the act, call for security, get a guard there, restrain
15:15
him something. So he waits for him to try and
15:17
commit suicide and then he restrains him. Huh, how does
15:21
that make sense to anybody? Schulz said. The first incident
15:28
that happened, which the newspapers reported as a possible suicide attempt,
15:32
Epstein didn't want to discuss any further. He told the
15:35
prison officers he couldn't remember what happened. He didn't want
15:38
to answer any more questions. Look, he didn't want to
15:40
rat point blank, period. And he didn't want to rat
15:44
because he figured he'd be in prison for a little
15:46
bit longer. He didn't have any plans to kill himself,
15:49
at least that's the way it looks to me. So
15:52
he didn't want to rat on tartak Leone for beating
15:54
him up because he figured he'd be in there for
15:56
a long time and it would be even worse on
15:58
him later on. Look, he was in a dangerous situation.
16:03
He was a very wealthy guy accused of sex offenses,
16:06
stuck in with a guy accused of four murders. First
16:09
of all, he shouldn't have been locked up in general population.
16:12
That's reprehensible. He'd have guys who would watch the nightly
16:15
news on the prison TV and say to him, seventy
16:18
million dollar manchon, huh. I've been through this with other clients,
16:22
and I told him to keep an eye on this
16:24
and tell me if anyone was extorting him. So, look,
16:28
when we talk about what happened in that jail cell,
16:32
especially the first night, nothing they say, at least in
16:35
my opinion has been logical, and their explanation for what
16:42
happened in this jail cell certainly hasn't been logical. And
16:45
it's not just me saying it. You have guys like
16:47
Doug shown, Michael Boden, and a whole bunch of other
16:49
people who are saying the same thing. And if they
16:53
want to kill all of this suspicion or as they
16:55
call it, conspiracy theory, all they have to do is
16:58
be a bit more transparent. But they can't even muster
17:01
that up, can they. All Right, folks, that's gonna do
17:05
it for this episode. If you'd like to contact me,

17:26
found in the description box to this article from The
17:29
Guardian and authored by Ed Pilkington. Headline ken Starr helped
17:39
Jeffrey Epstein with Scorched Earth campaign book claims ken Starr,
17:46
the lawyer who hounded Bill Clinton over his affair with
17:49
Monica Lewinsky, what do you mean. Okay, let's be very
17:52
let's be very clear. That was his job in that
17:55
per card, right, His job was to hound Bill Clinton.
17:57
Special prosecutor no different than you, waged a scorched earth
18:04
legal campaign to persuade federal prosecutors to drop sex trafficking
18:08
case against the billionaire financier pedophile Jeffrey Epstein relating to
18:13
the abuse of multiple underage girls. According to a new book,
18:19
it shouldn't shock you, Well, you don't think that a
18:21
guy like ken Starr had a direct line to somebody
18:27
like Mukasey. Of course he did. And that's why the
18:30
whole alex Acosta thing cracks me up when people go
18:34
all in like alex Acosta had the ability or the
18:37
power to make this decision on his own.
18:40
Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
18:41
Speaker 1: There are so many different levels to this shit. Folks
18:47
and lawyers like Ken Starr, Alan Dershowitz and the rest
18:54
of them, they are paid for who they know, not
18:58
for what they do in the court room. In Perversion
19:03
of Justice, the Miami Herald reporter Julie K. Brown writes
19:07
about Starr's role in securing the secret two thousand and
19:10
eight sweetheart deal that granted Epstein effective immunity from federal prosecution.
19:16
The author, who is credited with blowing up the cover
19:19
up called Star a fixer who used his political connections
19:23
in the White House to get the Justice Department to
19:25
review Epstein's case. So, right there alone, that shows you.
19:29
That tells you that alex Acosta was nothing more than
19:34
a talking head. Here the Justice Department review the case.
19:39
Speaker 3: Oh who's the head.
19:39
Speaker 1: Of the Justice Department at the time. Oh, yeah, that's right, mukasey.
19:43
I don't know why people want to let people off.
19:46
I don't know why people are looking for a mid
19:48
level associates here. Don't you want to go to the
19:51
top and get the real people who made these decisions,
19:55
Go after the people who gave the okay, signed on
19:57
the dotted line. I'm not happy with just a cost
20:02
to see, that's the difference. I want to go sport phishing. Folks.
20:08
You might be happy with catching a couple mackerels and
20:12
you know, a sea bass, right, Not me. I want
20:16
a swordfish. I want something to mount on our wall.
20:22
The book says that emails and letters sent by Starr
20:25
and Epstein's then criminal defense lawyer, Jay Lefkowitz show that
20:29
the duo were campaigning to pressure the Justice Department to
20:33
drop the case. Starr had been brought into center stage
20:36
of Epstein's legal team because of his connections in Washington
20:39
to the Bush administration. Oh wait, didn't I just tell
20:42
you that? Didn't I just say that? Haven't I been
20:44
saying that from the beginning. It's all about nepotism. It's
20:49
all about who you know, what sort of connections you
20:54
can bring to the table. You think these guys are
20:56
getting paid fifteen hundred dollars an hour because of the
20:59
legal ease of the of the issue. Hell, all the
21:02
lawyers know the legal aspect of this shit. It's about
21:06
how you hustle. It's about how you run your mouth
21:09
behind the scenes, and it's about the people you know
21:13
and the pressure you can exert. And somebody like Ken
21:17
Starr who had a line into the Bush family, right
21:20
into the Bush White House, right that George Bush himself,
21:23
I'm sure, Well that's the perfect guy to employ if
21:27
you're looking to get off right, if you're looking to
21:29
buy connections, perfect guy to buy right guy shows up. Hey, look, fellas,
21:36
you guys know me, right, I'm Ken Starr. Look, my
21:38
client really is not that bad. This is a very
21:41
rich man. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Why
21:43
don't we just give him a little slap on the
21:44
wrist here, let's punt it down to state charges. Huh.
21:49
And if you think a Costa made that decision, you
21:51
are sorely mistaken. Now he could have tried to stop it.
21:58
And that's why I think he's the biggest scumbag you know,
22:01
or a big scumback. You don't just get along to
22:05
go along with something like that. If something is wrong,
22:07
something is out of line, step up and do the
22:11
right thing. But unfortunately there's not enough of that from
22:18
these prosecutors, from these journalists. I get it, man. Everybody
22:24
wants to secure their future. Everybody wants a paycheck. Not
22:27
everybody wants to go balls out. But maybe you're in
22:31
the wrong profession. Maybe what we need are some prosecutors
22:36
willing to go balls out. Maybe what we need are
22:40
some journalists who are willing to chase the story wherever
22:43
the evidence leads.
22:44
Speaker 3: Because, folks, we sure.
22:46
Speaker 1: Don't have enough of that. Perversion of Justice will be
22:51
published next week. The Guardian obtained a copy. When Epstein's
22:56
lawyers appear to be failing in their pressure campaign, with
22:59
senior deal Jay officials concluding that Epstein was ripe for
23:03
federal prosecution, Star pulled out all the stops. Brown discloses
23:08
that he wrote an eight page letter to Mark Philippe,
23:11
who had just been confirmed as Deputy US Attorney General,
23:15
the second most powerful prosecutor in the country. Now we've
23:18
talked about Philippe as well a lot, actually, and Philippe
23:22
is the man whose signature ended up on those documents
23:25
that gave him the non prosecution agreement. But again, Mukasey
23:29
was the top dog, Mukayzy. You really think that this
23:32
didn't go through Mukasey's office. Of course it did. Him
23:38
and Philippe are the real people who should be focused on.
23:42
That's where the spotlight should be blasted. We've already aired
23:45
out all Costa's bitch asked why isn't anybody herring out
23:50
Mukasey or going after Philip It's always the low hanging fruit, right,
23:55
It's always the fall guy quote unquote that they look
23:59
to go after and then they seem to be satisfied.
24:04
See the difference is I'm not just trying to eat tonight, folks.
24:09
I want to have a whole, entire storeroom worth of food.
24:14
So let's dig deeper, much deeper than just the surface level.
24:18
All of these people are connected with each other. And
24:21
I don't mean some back room conglomorati. Okay, don't even
24:25
need to do that. Just take a look at the
24:27
paperwork that's available and see whose signature is on it.
24:30
And that's the person who gave the Okay. Felipe was
24:37
former colleague of Stars at the law firm Kirk Lindonellis
24:40
Brown writes that Star deployed dramatic language in the letter
24:44
reminiscent of the Star report his lurid and salacious case
24:47
against Clinton that triggered the president's nineteen ninety eight impeachment.
24:52
His lurid and salacious case. No, let's be very clear, Okay,
24:55
Bill Clinton got sculled up in the Oval office, used
24:59
his position of power to manipulate a young girl into
25:02
doing it. Impeachment worthy, I don't think so. But let's
25:08
not act like Bill Clinton was some kind of upstanding
25:10
citizen while he was in the Oral office, I mean
25:12
the Oval office.
25:14
Speaker 3: Let's be very clear.
25:15
Speaker 1: With who we're dealing with here, all right, And again
25:18
they try and paint pictures with their words, and it's
25:21
so it's laughable once you see through the gaslighting.
25:26
Speaker 3: In the letter, Star.
25:27
Speaker 1: Begins affably invoking the finest traditions of fairness and integrity
25:31
of the DOJ. He then goes on to deliver what
25:34
Brown calls a brutal punch, accusing prosecutors involved in the
25:38
Epstein case of misconduct and trying to engineer a plea
25:42
deal with the billionaire that would benefit their friends. So
25:45
really what he was doing is projecting, right, that's exactly
25:49
what Epstein was trying to do. But Starr flipped the
25:53
script and said, that's what the prosecution was trying to do.
25:57
The prosecution was out of line. The prosecution was going
26:00
after the wrong man all because he was just some
26:03
rich guy. And this was really out of line. That's
26:07
the bullshit these idiots pitched. That's the bullshit people like
26:10
Mukasey and Phelippe bought. And that's the bullshit people like
26:14
you and I are chopping in half on it. Brown
26:19
reports that Epstein's legal team also went after Marie Villa Fauna,
26:23
the lead federal prosecutor in the case, accusing her of
26:26
similar similar of similar distorting negotiations to benefit a friend
26:31
of her boyfriend, an allegation she denied. She's a state prosecutor,
26:36
Villa Fauna, she worked with krisher So again, I'm not
26:40
gonna I'm not gonna put her up there as some
26:42
sort of champion, all right. Was she somebody who seemed
26:45
to care a little bit more? For sure? But at
26:48
the end of the day, did she quit her job,
26:49
did she become a whistleblower? Did she do anything like that?
26:53
She didn't. So again, it's nice to have revisionist history
26:58
and look back at things and say, oh, well I
27:00
knew all along, or but you didn't do anything right.
27:05
Words are wind Brownside's an unann prosecutor linked to the
27:11
two thousand and eight case who said of the legal
27:14
campaign in which Star was central that it was scorched
27:17
earth defense like I had never seen before. Marie broke
27:21
her back trying to do the right thing, but someone
27:24
was always telling her to back off. Well, if she
27:27
had steel in her spine, she wouldn't have broken her back.
27:34
But do you really think that as a lawyer, Miss
27:37
Villa Fauna, that you wouldn't have found another job if
27:39
you would have just said, look, I'm not doing this,
27:41
I quit. But yet here we are, and people still
27:47
try and act like she's some kind of hero in
27:50
this case. Sorry, I don't buy it, and I won't
27:53
get down with that now. I don't think she's a
27:56
huge villain in this case either, but a hero, no,
27:59
thank you. The prosecutor added that someone in Washington the
28:05
book does not specify who was calling shots on the case.
28:09
So again, think about this for a minute, folks, Julie
28:12
Brown was incessant about going after Acosta, and she knew
28:17
that somebody up top was calling the shots. But yet
28:21
Acosta was set up as the man, the guy who
28:25
made the decisions. No, he wasn't. Lies of omission, Julie
28:29
Brown are still lies. Remember that. And while I'm thankful
28:33
for all of your hard work on this case, let's
28:36
not act like this didn't have a political bend for you.
28:41
Villafano warned fellow prosecutors at the time that Epstein was
28:44
probably still abusing underage girls, but according to an unnamned
28:48
prosecutor quoted by Brown, it was clear that she had
28:51
to find a way to strike a deal because a
28:53
decision had already been made not to prosecute Epstein. So
28:57
if that's the case, and you knew that there was
28:59
some kind of sweetheart deal, you don't blow the whistle,
29:01
you don't ring the bells of alarm. You wait until
29:06
twenty years later, and then you say, well, I thought
29:08
it was bad, but not sorry. That's not good enough
29:11
for me. All of the people that were in a
29:14
position to stop this, who didn't? You people are f't man,
29:20
And I don't want to hear anything from any of
29:22
those kind of people any excuses about what could have
29:25
should or did or didn't happen. The fact is you
29:30
people let this occur. You people had a chance to
29:32
stop this, and you let it occur. The outcome of
29:38
this process was a secret deal that only became public
29:41
years later, largely through Brown's own reporting. Given the number
29:45
of survivors and the severity of the allegations, Epstein got
29:49
off exceptionally lightly, with a sentence that saw him serve
29:53
just thirteen months in jail. During that sentence, Epstein was
29:57
allowed out to work in his private office for twelve
30:00
hours a day, six days a week, in a breach
30:03
of jail norms now how many of you have friends
30:06
who have been to jail? How many of you yourselves
30:08
have been to jail? Do you guys get six days
30:11
out a week I mean six days a week out,
30:14
go to your job, do whatever you want. Highly doubt it, right.
30:18
But Epstein, on the other hand, got yourself a couple bucks,
30:21
got yourself a brand spanking new, shiny federal deal. Shit,
30:26
why not? Must be nice? And these scumbags act like
30:33
jail's rough for them. Oh, Gallaine, Maxwell, has it so bad?
30:37
Shut up. In twenty eighteen, Brown published a three part
30:43
expos in The Miami Herald that lifted the lid on
30:46
the non prosecution agreement that had been reached covering up
30:49
Epstein's sex trafficking operation. The reporter managed to identify eighty
30:54
potential survivors, some as young as thirteen and fourteen. So
30:59
one thing I will say is you got to give
31:01
Julie Brown her props for that.
31:02
Speaker 3: Right.
31:04
Speaker 1: Definitely did good work bringing this story back to LFE.
31:08
But let's not act like it wasn't a political hit job,
31:11
because that's exactly what it was. It started with her
31:14
going after Acosta, and it mushroomed into this following Brown's expose,
31:22
a judge ruled that the secret agreement was illegal, opening
31:25
up the possibility of a renewed federal prosecution. Epstein was
31:29
arrested on sex trafficking charges in July twenty nineteen, eleven
31:34
years after Starr and the rest of his legal team
31:37
had worked so hard to shield him, and died in
31:40
jail the following month, and what was ruled a suicide.
31:45
Allegedly in the fallout, Alex Acosta, who as Miami's top
31:50
federal prosecutor in two thousand and eight, had signed off
31:53
on the Epstein sweetheart deal, was forced to resign as
31:57
Donald Trump's labor secretary. So Acosta again fall guy, scumbag,
32:05
no doubt desert it. Never deserved the cabinet spot. But
32:08
let's not act like he was the mastermind behind all
32:10
of this. He was the pivot man, right, He was
32:12
the gopher, the guy that the people in DC would
32:15
call and say, all right, here's the deal. And he
32:19
ended up being the fall guy as well. Though Starr's
32:24
role in securing the Epstein deal was public knowledge, Brown's
32:27
book reveals the lengths that the lawyer was prepared to
32:30
go in order to protect his client from federal justice
32:36
and the excuse me to go in order to protect
32:39
from federal justice and accuse sexual predator and pedophile. The
32:44
extent of his involvement is all the more striking given
32:47
the equally passionate lengths that Star went to in nineteen
32:51
ninety eight to pursue Clinton for perjury and obstruction of justice,
32:55
given the much less serious sexual activity that sparked that investing.
33:00
All right, apples and oranges. Okay, let's not try and
33:03
engage in revisionists to history here. Okay, do I believe
33:07
the Clinton Special prosecutor was warranted? No? I do not.
33:12
I thought it was ridiculous then I think it's ridiculous now.
33:15
But let's not act like he didn't do anything wrong.
33:18
BrOBrO flexed his power and got that young girl to
33:22
do what we all know she did. The response by
33:27
the Republicans was ridiculous. Though Starr's handling of sexual assault
33:34
scandals has dogged him during other phases in his career.
33:37
In twenty sixteen, he was stripped of the presidency of
33:40
Baylor University after the institution under his watch failed to
33:45
take appropriate action over his sexual assault scandal involving nineteen
33:49
football players and at least seventeen women. Four years later,
33:53
Star served as a member of Trump's legal team in
33:56
the former president's first impeachment trial over dealings with Ukraine. So,
34:02
as you can see, Ken Starr is a traditional scumbag,
34:05
been around forever, part of the problem, one of those
34:08
scoundrels that have been lurking in the muck for my
34:12
whole life pretty much. But what it really goes to
34:17
show you, and what it should really shine the spotlight on,
34:20
is when these people are buying these federal attorneys, they're
34:23
not paying for courtroom behavior. They're paying for relationships and
34:29
backroom deals. If you'd like to contact me, you can

34:55
and welcome to another edition of the Lookback Episode. Today,
35:01
we're going to take a look back at Darren Endyke,
35:03
and to do that, we're going to use an article
35:06
from twenty nineteen that ran in the Wall Street Journal.
35:11
The author of this article is Gretchen Morgensen headline. Jeffrey
35:16
Epstein's little known lawyer lands in the spotlight. Disgraced financier
35:21
Pedophile's attorney co executor of his will worked for Epstein
35:25
for over twenty five years as he expanded business and
35:28
social ties. So Darren Endyke was a huge part of
35:32
what Epstein had going on, right. He was the in
35:35
house lawyer. The I call him his Tom Hagen almost.
35:38
So it's always a good idea to add a little
35:41
more meat to the bone, a little more context to
35:45
the topic. So let's dive in. Jeffrey Epstein's longtime lawyer
35:50
has operated behind the scenes for decades. Now he finds
35:54
himself in the spotlight over the scandal surrounding the disgraced
35:58
financier file. Darren Endyke was named co executor of mister
36:03
Epstein's wi will will filed earlier this month in a
36:07
US Virgin Islands court, a document mister Epstein signed two
36:12
days before his apparent suicide. Mister Indike and mister Epstein
36:16
had worked together for more than twenty five years as
36:19
mister Epstein expanded his business and social ties. So you
36:24
mean to tell me this smarmy son of a bitch
36:28
worked with Jeffrey Epstein for all these years, twenty five years.
36:31
His signature is littered across paperwork that you wouldn't believe
36:37
a guy that has been accused of facilitating marriages, structuring
36:41
money transactions at the bank, and this man has not
36:46
been put under oath yet. You mean to tell me
36:48
there's no indictment for this guy?
36:50
Speaker 3: Why don't we refer back to that Rico article that
36:53
we read earlier.
36:54
Speaker 1: Today, As federal prosecutors investigate miss Epstein's operations and some
37:02
of his alleged sexual assault survivors seek to recover assets
37:06
from his estate, mister Dyke has hired a criminal defense lawyer,
37:10
though no charges have been filed against him now. When
37:13
this happened and he hired that lawyer, I thought it
37:16
was fishy then, and I still believe that there is
37:19
a grand jury impaneled as we speak, and it's likely
37:23
that eventually, at some point we see some sort of
37:27
charges against mister Dyke.
37:29
Speaker 3: That would be my guess.
37:30
Speaker 1: Obviously I don't have inside information or a track to
37:34
somebody on the inside, none of that, but it would
37:36
be my guess that at some point mister Endyke is indicted,
37:40
and when he goes and hires a lawyer like he did,
37:44
obviously he thought that he was in jeopardy of ending
37:48
up in trouble. Among his wide ranging work as an attorney,
37:54
mister Dyke set up companies for mister Epstein and his colleagues,
37:58
represented mister Epstein in real estate deals, and handled matters
38:02
involving his charitable giving. Public records show all of that
38:07
is crucial to the RICO operation, right and when you
38:11
look at what the RICO laws are, the predicates, all
38:14
of this fits right in. So again I leave it
38:18
up to you to discern how and why we don't
38:22
have a RICO case here. But mister Endyke was in
38:25
the middle of all of it. Anything that Epstein was
38:28
up to, Darren Endyke was right there at his side
38:31
the whole way. Twenty five years at least. He also
38:38
invested alongside mister Epstein and at least one instance contributed
38:42
to politicians favored by mister Epstein and represented him in
38:46
a federal election commission matter involving an excessive political donation.
38:50
Public records indicate. So he's just following suit right Epstein
38:55
to avoid whatever the laws are for donating too much money,
38:59
just give them money to and tell them to donate
39:01
it in his name. Why not. They were so engaged
39:04
in money laundering crimes and plots and schemes that this
39:07
was a nothing to them. This was a given pulling
39:11
a lick like this, right, Mister Endike also once had
39:16
an address at the Manhattan condominium building where several Epstein
39:19
employees lived, according to real estate records. Now that's the
39:23
building on East sixty sixth where a lot of the
39:27
trafficked girls lived. The employees lived, and allegedly his brother
39:32
Mark Epstein is a co owner of the building. So
39:36
they kept everything in house, right. They wanted to make
39:38
sure that everything that they had going on was locked
39:43
in and connected and that they could be in control
39:45
of all of it because they had to be able
39:47
to maneuver. They had to be able to move things
39:50
in the way they wanted them to move, so that
39:53
there wouldn't be any gum in the operation. Right, have
39:56
all the girls in one central location. You don't got
39:59
to track them down. You can keep track of them
40:02
and off to the races. That building was purchased in
40:10
early nineteen nineties by a former affiliate of Jeffrey Epstein
40:13
and Company. Mister Epstein's investment firm, real estate records, and
40:17
New York State filing show all that means the fifty
40:21
four year old lawyer could attract the attention of anyone
40:24
hoping to track mister Epstein's financial holdings worth at least
40:29
five hundred and seventy seven million, according to court papers
40:32
filed with his will, And we all know it was
40:35
much more than that. We all know it was a
40:37
lot more than that. Six hundred and eighty million or
40:41
something is what they had the official number at. But
40:43
if you add up all the other shitty had going on,
40:46
I wonder how much it really was. How much is
40:48
still sitting in accounts that nobody knows about, but maybe
40:52
mister Endyke or maybe mister Kahn. Another wrinkle admits Epstein's
41:00
case involves how much of mister Indyke's work is protected
41:04
by attorney client privilege. Well, if he's doing something illegal,
41:07
then attorney prime client privilege it doesn't apply. So if
41:12
they're engaged in a criminal conspiracy together, that goes out
41:15
the window. If you know they're they're once again engaging
41:18
in Rico predicates which they were. That goes right out
41:22
the window, and the Feds wouldn't even care about that.
41:24
They just that that would get mopped up in court
41:27
real quick. When a lawyer conducts business dealings for a
41:32
client that don't involve legal advice or representation, that work
41:35
isn't covered by the privilege, said Peter Joy, a law
41:38
professor at Washington University in Saint Louis.
41:41
Speaker 3: That as well.
41:42
Speaker 1: So if you're doing something like this and it's not,
41:45
you know, has to do with the actual case or
41:49
with something legal, then it's not protected by confidentiality. Mister
41:57
Indyke declient to comment for this article through Mark Agniphillo,
42:01
his criminal defense lawyer. Shit shocking. We haven't heard anything
42:05
from this guy because honestly, he knows the deal and
42:09
as a lawyer, he knows to keep his yap shut.
42:12
He's not going to incriminate himself, and Indyke's not going
42:15
to be an easy man to take down or to
42:17
indict again. He's a lawyer, he knows what's up, and
42:20
he's been along for every step of this journey. If
42:23
anyone has the secrets, I know a lot of people
42:26
are like, oh, it's Max. Well I'm telling you right now,
42:29
it's Darren Endyke and this guy. Look, I'm not saying
42:33
he's one hundred percent guilty of anything, right, I don't know.
42:37
I wasn't there, but shit doesn't look good for him.
42:40
And I think that a good, thorough investigation that includes
42:44
him being at the very least opposed under oath by
42:47
an interrogator is probably a good idea in this instance.
42:55
Mister Indike declined to comment for this article through Mark
42:58
Agniphilo is criminal defense lawyer. Mister Epstein died August tenth
43:02
in a New York federal jail cell of what a
43:04
coroner said.
43:06
Speaker 3: Was a suicide.
43:07
Speaker 1: Allegedly, he had pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking counts
43:10
arising from a scheme federal prosecutors said involved sexual abuse
43:15
of dozens of girls. In two thousand and eight, mister
43:19
Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida to two counts related to prostitution.
43:23
Oh yeah, it's exactly what it was, right, little girls
43:25
prostitution because they can consent. He went to jail but
43:31
was allowed to participate in a work release program later
43:34
that year, and we know that that work release program
43:37
was garbage anyway, he manipulated it. He was able to
43:41
still abuse girls while he was under their care. According
43:45
to several people, so did what were they really doing? Nothing?
43:49
Speaker 3: It was all for appearances. Right.
43:54
Speaker 1: While mister Epstein hired criminal defense attorneys to represent him
43:58
in the prostitution case, Indyke frequently visited mister Epstein in jail.
44:03
Court record show. In July two thousand and nine, mister
44:06
Epstein was released early, having served thirteen months of an
44:10
eighteen month sentence. And again, anyone who doesn't understand the
44:16
relationship between Indyke and Epstein, they're not going to understand
44:20
the nexus of all of this. This is one of
44:23
the most crucial relationships Epstein ever created. This was his
44:27
go to guy. This was the man he could feel
44:29
secure with, the guy he would send for his in
44:32
house law needs.
44:34
Speaker 3: Right.
44:37
Speaker 1: Mister Indyke graduated from Cornell's University Law School in nineteen
44:40
ninety one, according to the university's website, and joined the
44:44
New York State Bar in nineteen ninety two. He owns
44:47
a house in Livingston, New Jersey, purchased in two thousand
44:50
and three for one point seven million dollars, and one
44:53
he bought in Boca Raton, Florida in twenty fifteen for
44:57
three point one million dollars cash. Public records show, man,
45:01
this guy has a lot of money for a lawyer
45:03
who doesn't have any clients. But the one wonder where
45:06
he's getting all that money from. I'm sure all of
45:07
it is made legally. Mister Dyke also owns a condominium
45:14
in Saint Thomas and the US Virgin Islands, where mister
45:16
Epstein owned two private islands. Public records show over the
45:20
past two decades, mister Dyke has made open record requests
45:24
to three federal agencies on behalf of mister Epstein. It
45:28
couldn't be determined what kind of information mister Epstein was
45:31
seeking or whether any was produced. Again, the relationship between
45:37
these two cannot be dismissed. It wasn't just a mirror, Oh,
45:41
you're my lawyer, go take care of this. It was
45:44
more of a where boys, and you're my lawyer, go
45:46
take care of this if you get my drift. In
45:50
twenty thirteen, mister Endyke requested records from the US Customs
45:54
and Border Protection on behalf of mister Epstein. The type
45:57
of records obtainable under such requests according to the CPB website,
46:01
our information pertaining to an individual's US entries and exits, apprehensions, detentions,
46:07
and results of background checks. Can only imagine what he
46:10
was up to with that, huh? All the girls they
46:12
were bringing in from overseas. In March twenty fourteen, mister
46:17
Endyke asked the National Security Agency for documents, communications, memorandums, orders, agreements,
46:23
and or instructions related to mister Epstein dating back to
46:27
two thousand. The record for the request is marked denial
46:30
of information and below that not closed. Well, I would
46:33
hope they wouldn't give him that information, but when we're
46:36
dealing with Epstein and the shadow that he cast, you
46:40
never know. Mister Epstein, excuse me. Mister Endyke also has
46:45
ties to mister Epstein's main investment client, Leslie Wexner, the
46:48
billionaire founder of retailers L Brands and Victoria's secret Mister
46:53
Wexner said in a statement several weeks ago that mister
46:57
Epstein stole more than forty six million dollars from him.
47:01
The statement made no mention of mister Dyke. Again, I
47:04
never believe that Epstein stole that money from les Wexner.
47:08
Wexner gave him that money and then this was all
47:10
their plan when shit went south. If you ever got caught,
47:13
I'll just say you stole this money from me, and
47:15
that will cement our breakaway from each other. That's they
47:19
really think we're that stupid. In nineteen ninety nine, mister
47:26
Endyke was secretary of the nonprofit Wexner Foundation. Securities filing show.
47:31
A year earlier, mister Indyke supplied an affid David in
47:34
a legal dispute in New York federal court against a
47:37
German shipbuilder that it constructed mister Wexner's three hundred and
47:41
sixteen foot yacht Limitless. Oh these people, they just you know,
47:47
the oligarch conversation. Yeah, we're back at that. Representatives for
47:51
mister Wexner and l Brands didn't respond to requests for comment.
47:55
Mister Dyke also invested alongside mister Epstein at least once
47:59
regulatory filing show. In two thousand and four, mister Endyke
48:03
held an unspecified stake in Second City Capital Partners, a
48:07
private equity firm specializing in real estate investments. I wonder
48:11
why there were so gung ho about real estate investments.
48:14
Could it be that they can't be traced, that nobody
48:16
knows who owns what, so nobody can follow the money,
48:19
So nobody knows what you're up to. Nah, that has
48:21
nothing to do with it. One of mister Epstein's foundations,
48:26
for which mister Endyke was an officer, also held the
48:29
Second City Capital partner stake at the time. Mister Endyke
48:33
moreover was a registered agent for multiple companies located in
48:36
the New York address of a Jay Epstein in Company,
48:39
and he assisted mister Epstein in his nineteen ninety three
48:42
purchase of the Zoro Ranch, a vast property near Albuquerque,
48:46
New Mexico, actually near Santa Fe. And again, can we
48:50
get this guy on record. I'm not calling for people
48:53
to show up at his house and you know, use
48:56
some old Western justice. Can the law just work for
48:59
one and these scumbags that have a mountain of evidence
49:02
against them be dragged in, kicking and screaming if they
49:05
have to be and held to account. Is that too
49:07
much to ask? And lisas show that the ranch is
49:12
owned by Cyprus Incorporated of the US Virgin Islands and
49:15
that mister Dyke is a vice president of Cyprus. A
49:19
number of donations mister Dyke made to politicians over the
49:23
years mirrored those made by mister Epstein, according to the
49:26
Center of Responsive Politics. On August second, excuse me. On
49:30
August fourth, twenty sixteen, for example, mister Indyke donated two
49:35
seven hundred dollars to US Representative Stacey Plaskett, a Virgin
49:39
Islands Democrat. Mister Epstein also donated to her that day
49:44
record show, and on July twenty third, twenty eighteen, mister
49:48
Indyke and mister Epstein both made donations to miss Plasket.
49:52
Anybody asked, Miss Plaskett where this money came from? Or Nah,
49:56
no big deal, We're just gonna go with the whole Oh,
49:59
the Virgin Island was wronged here and they should get
50:01
some money on the backside. It is all Ludacris, folks,
50:05
and as you see, Darren Endyke most certainly deserves a
50:10
closer look. If you'd like to contact me, you can
