Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Jordan McDonald.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I played the drums in Frankie's house band, which is
- 0:05Speaker 2: why I'm chatting with.
- 0:06Speaker 1: The man Chris Peters today. Chris, how are you brother?
- 0:09Speaker 3: I'm fantastic, Jordan, how are you made? Thanks for joining us?
- 0:13Speaker 1: Thank you. Yeah, I'm happy to be here. Always loved chatting.
- 0:16Speaker 3: It is always a pleasure to my friend.
- 0:17Speaker 4: But today we are chatting about the fact that Frankie's
- 0:20Speaker 4: world famous house band hits Queensland this weekend for two
- 0:23Speaker 4: special shows.
- 0:24Speaker 3: You Got What It Left.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Easy Brisbane on Saturday, June the seventh and What It
- 0:27Speaker 4: Most has a Coveouse on Sunday night. I'm sure you're
- 0:31Speaker 4: rightly happy here last weekend, right, yeah?
- 0:34Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was playing with my sex last weekend.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Your sex or my sex?
- 0:40Speaker 1: I said your.
- 0:45Speaker 5: Yeah. We did Mudgerie Bar the Wallaby Hotel and then
- 0:48Speaker 5: the next night.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Crow Bar Brisbane, which I love. The original crow Bar
- 0:54Speaker 1: Brisbane was always.
- 0:55Speaker 5: A lot of fun that had that kind of tanks
- 0:57Speaker 5: factor to it.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Then you join is just such a big beast, custom
- 1:02Speaker 2: perfect powerful live music room that Yeah, it's a pleasure
- 1:07Speaker 2: to come up and play the space.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's not often that Frankie's world famous house
- 1:13Speaker 3: span actually gets out of your hometown at Sydney and
- 1:15Speaker 3: shares yourself with the rest of Australias it so it
- 1:18Speaker 3: is a pretty special occasion.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Yeah, we we never do this.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I mean, we get out of town if we're if
- 1:24Speaker 2: we're the house band for a maturing artist. That happens
- 1:30Speaker 2: every Now that's kind of I guess the niche of
- 1:33Speaker 2: the frank If there's an act of cult appeal who's
- 1:39Speaker 2: coming to Australia but leaving the band behind, we fill in,
- 1:42Speaker 2: we'll play and so we'll take that around the country.
- 1:45Speaker 2: But just as us doing it our way, it kind
- 1:49Speaker 2: of like, as a matter of policy, we never leave Sydney.
- 1:52Speaker 1: So this is this is something different, Say.
- 1:56Speaker 3: What policy have you got that prohibits you from leaving Sydney.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Is like it was bred in Sydney and it's kind
- 2:06Speaker 2: of where it makes sense. It's it's part of a
- 2:07Speaker 2: fabric of the zone.
- 2:09Speaker 1: So we try and kind of keep it that way,
- 2:12Speaker 1: you know.
- 2:12Speaker 2: But if an opportunity like this comes up and it
- 2:14Speaker 2: doesn't happen all that often, we say yes to most things.
- 2:18Speaker 1: So here we are.
- 2:21Speaker 4: We've spoken a few times previously, mate, but it's been
- 2:23Speaker 4: about Frankie's featured about Dingbats, but from every this is
- 2:27Speaker 4: the first time we've had a chat about your music career.
- 2:29Speaker 3: So you're actually in a band.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I think all the careers ship around
- 2:40Speaker 2: the sides was kind of constructed just.
- 2:42Speaker 5: To stay in the music zone, you know, man.
- 2:44Speaker 2: But first and foremost, it's it's performing is kind of
- 2:48Speaker 2: where how I landed in this industry, and it's it's
- 2:53Speaker 2: that's the happy place, you know, that's that's where I
- 2:55Speaker 2: prefer to be.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Yeah, it's funny because the first few times I met
- 2:59Speaker 4: you down Frankie's, Like, I had no idea that you
- 3:01Speaker 4: played as well.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I just thought you were a cool as fuck venue owner,
- 3:04Speaker 3: but like get in there and get a buster with everyone.
- 3:06Speaker 3: And then then I saw you jumped up on stage
- 3:09Speaker 3: and played with someone one night. I'm like, that explains
- 3:11Speaker 3: a lot.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, well, well that's that's how it happened.
- 3:17Speaker 1: You know, it started with with playing, and.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Then through that, you know, discovering the industry on the
- 3:23Speaker 2: other side of the industry, you know, the actual hospitality
- 3:26Speaker 2: of it, and you know the I guess from the
- 3:29Speaker 2: side of the venue. And so I played the game
- 3:33Speaker 2: with venue owner for a long time. And yeah, and
- 3:37Speaker 2: now I'm like this free agent out there on planet
- 3:40Speaker 2: Earth kind of playing both.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Sides a little bit.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah, the ship like this upcoming weekend, getting to play
- 3:47Speaker 2: just some classic rock and roll for the people of
- 3:49Speaker 2: Queensland is precisely where I'd like to be.
- 3:54Speaker 3: They didn't didn't want it.
- 3:58Speaker 5: It didn't didn't want it real loud on it.
- 4:03Speaker 4: So I will just keep just let it roll be
- 4:05Speaker 4: leave all the bloopers and the outing was gonna let
- 4:11Speaker 4: me down, like introduced this to the whole of Frankie's
- 4:18Speaker 4: world famous house fan Like, there's some pretty complish players
- 4:21Speaker 4: in there.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well, I guess the core group is myself
- 4:28Speaker 2: on drums, my my older brother Joel John McDonald's fans,
- 4:32Speaker 2: the bass player Bobby Fulton, and there's a rotating task
- 4:38Speaker 2: of vocalists who come in and out. The longest standing
- 4:42Speaker 2: of is Simon Hill, and he covers most of the
- 4:47Speaker 2: sort of heavy material so that the singer changes depending
- 4:51Speaker 2: on what materials okay, yeah, yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Digging into and sometimes.
- 4:57Speaker 1: We will do tours that are sort of thing.
- 5:01Speaker 2: And you know, we have shows coming up in the
- 5:04Speaker 2: middle of this year where we're doing like a full
- 5:07Speaker 2: seventies show, and then we're doing a full eighties show
- 5:09Speaker 2: on another occasion, and then we're doing a thing that's
- 5:12Speaker 2: going to be announced shortly.
- 5:14Speaker 1: That has a play roll. Example, So so the vocalist
- 5:16Speaker 1: usually fits.
- 5:17Speaker 5: In with whatever the plan is for the band at
- 5:19Speaker 5: that time. But coming up to Twinsland this weekend, we're
- 5:23Speaker 5: bringing Simon.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Hill and that's that means there's going to be a
- 5:26Speaker 2: whole lot of Megadeth, Metallica, iron made, hell yeah, real
- 5:31Speaker 2: heart starting ship.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Hell yeah. That seems funny too, because like, I didn't
- 5:35Speaker 3: know you had a brother from long time as well,
- 5:37Speaker 3: and I saw the photos come through once and I'm like,
- 5:39Speaker 3: I thought he played fucking drums. Look guitar was your brother?
- 5:45Speaker 2: Yeah, man, we're just kind of like looking a little
- 5:48Speaker 2: more similar with each year that goes by.
- 5:50Speaker 4: It, right head, that's actually you Hey.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I guess it. I guess it will do.
- 6:01Speaker 1: You know?
- 6:01Speaker 5: We're staring down the barrel of that ship. You know,
- 6:03Speaker 5: we're all on the ugly end of forty now and
- 6:06Speaker 5: it's good.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Okay, my kids are like calling me on the telephone.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Now I'm that old, right ridiculous drink.
- 6:18Speaker 3: The young kids under the tab today haven't got a
- 6:21Speaker 3: hope in fucking health. I haven't got a hope in hell.
- 6:25Speaker 4: All right, So just again, it's right like you played
- 6:28Speaker 4: covers of hard rock and rock songs days, it's no originals.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's that's that's what the band was kind
- 6:37Speaker 2: of born to. It's just all classic and cult covers
- 6:40Speaker 2: and we just sort of throb it up and you know,
- 6:43Speaker 2: player and sort of higher octane versions of them. But yeah,
- 6:47Speaker 2: they'll they'll be ship as retro as beetles in the mix,
- 6:51Speaker 2: you know, any you know, anything from Elvis to a
- 6:56Speaker 2: c DC. You know, if it's got balls and then
- 6:58Speaker 2: you know, but it all exists within.
- 7:02Speaker 1: The rock and roll realm.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Yeah. Nice, Nice.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Now, Frankie's world famous houseband actually started as a housepan
- 7:09Speaker 4: for Frankie's Pizza.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Is that correct?
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's that's right man.
- 7:16Speaker 4: And you played every week from twenty twelve to twenty
- 7:19Speaker 4: twenty two. You played there every week the ten year. Yes, yes,
- 7:23Speaker 4: a good effort.
- 7:25Speaker 2: When when the venue started and I was I have
- 7:29Speaker 2: my hands dirty in the venue, like managing and shit.
- 7:32Speaker 5: The house band started with another.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Drummer, This dude called Dave Ferry, who's like a really
- 7:39Speaker 2: technically brilliant player, and he kind of set a bar
- 7:43Speaker 2: in a certain place, and I guess the band at
- 7:46Speaker 2: that time of like quite virtuosity, you know, it was
- 7:49Speaker 2: fucking everyone was like out whiddling each each other and stuff,
- 7:52Speaker 2: and so he fit really well into that. And then
- 7:56Speaker 2: I guess when my role in the space it up
- 8:00Speaker 2: enough for me to be a bit more creative and ship,
- 8:02Speaker 2: you know, it came just around the same time that
- 8:05Speaker 2: Dave was thinking, Fuck, you know, I'd really love to
- 8:08Speaker 2: get my Monday nights back because a few years of
- 8:10Speaker 2: every single Monday night. It's like there's something about playing
- 8:13Speaker 2: on a Monday that's equally amazing as it is kind
- 8:16Speaker 2: of like it's hard.
- 8:18Speaker 1: It's the start of the week.
- 8:19Speaker 2: You know, it's not traditional party night, you know, but
- 8:23Speaker 2: the way that band does it, it's it's.
- 8:25Speaker 1: A party, you know.
- 8:26Speaker 2: But we we gear it in that direction absolutely.
- 8:31Speaker 1: So he was getting sick of it.
- 8:33Speaker 2: I was getting really itchy to jump on that stage,
- 8:35Speaker 2: and so we kind of shared it. He did the
- 8:37Speaker 2: first five years, I did the second five years. But
- 8:40Speaker 2: my brother Joel and Bobby they played all the way through.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Bobby moved up to Queensland and for a period there
- 8:47Speaker 2: we had Dario Bortel in on base and he's a motherfucker,
- 8:52Speaker 2: you know.
- 8:52Speaker 5: His premier based player in Australia. I would say I
- 8:57Speaker 5: had quite a nice start to go with.
- 8:58Speaker 1: That's been really lucky.
- 9:00Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's the best.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, But I want to know who came up
- 9:05Speaker 4: with the name made it's a bit of a fucking mouthful.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Well, Frankie's world famous house band.
- 9:12Speaker 2: It's a it's a really shitty name to stick on
- 9:17Speaker 2: a T shirt.
- 9:17Speaker 5: It's just it's just, you know, one or two's too long.
- 9:20Speaker 5: But I think the vibe was it was ironic.
- 9:24Speaker 2: At the start, you know, because we were just a
- 9:26Speaker 2: house band in an unknown, little pizza shop.
- 9:29Speaker 5: And so that's kind of why it became so cool.
- 9:31Speaker 5: We became well know, you know, like.
- 9:37Speaker 2: After a few years we were able to collaborate with
- 9:42Speaker 2: with some massive artists and and you know, I'd be
- 9:45Speaker 2: traveling overseas and people would stop me and talk about
- 9:48Speaker 2: Frankie's and being like.
- 9:49Speaker 5: That fucking house ban man. You know, it became a thing.
- 9:53Speaker 5: So yeah, I like to think.
- 9:56Speaker 2: That it started started as a joke, but it did
- 9:58Speaker 2: weirdly become world famous s time.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Yeah, Ben collaborations with some famous people, mate, So there's
- 10:05Speaker 4: been a shipload that have come through that place and
- 10:07Speaker 4: you've played with him, So run off, run off some
- 10:09Speaker 4: of your favorites.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Uh.
- 10:14Speaker 6: That was a really cool Kiss Night with Bruce Culick
- 10:16Speaker 6: where we played a whole bunch of like Unmaster era
- 10:19Speaker 6: eighties kiss and old and some old school ship but
- 10:23Speaker 6: mostly stuff from his period.
- 10:26Speaker 2: We did the full run around Australia with Gildy bark From.
- 10:32Speaker 5: And then we did something similar with Disney read actually.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Also have guns and rosa and.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah, tons tons, more man like in terms of like
- 10:42Speaker 1: on the night, jump up and go ship.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Yeah, we've we've played with pitcher cats from Cheap Trick
- 10:49Speaker 2: to White Zombie to you name it, you.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Know, like.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Similar promens. We've wound up doing a couple of great
- 10:56Speaker 2: runs with him, and I spoke with you about that recently.
- 11:00Speaker 1: That was sick. Yeah.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Tim's one of these singers who can go where no
- 11:05Speaker 2: other man.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Can go, you know.
- 11:07Speaker 3: So yeah, she's amazing.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yeah, as you know, someone who digs heavy metal being
- 11:13Speaker 2: able to actually execute certain songs live where it's like
- 11:17Speaker 2: a couple of cats on can facilitate thelong by playing
- 11:22Speaker 2: that song.
- 11:23Speaker 1: He's fucking monument. So we've been really really lucky to.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Go around Australia and a bunch of shows with him.
- 11:29Speaker 3: So having something like that work like Hestra.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Door, Yeah yeah, yeah, he'll just be like, hey man,
- 11:36Speaker 2: i'm finishing up South America.
- 11:38Speaker 1: We're coming to Australia. You know, I'll be here from
- 11:42Speaker 1: July to August.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Let's book some shows and so that's that's kind of
- 11:46Speaker 2: how we play it.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Like everything's pretty.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Gorilla from the start, and you know, you just have
- 11:50Speaker 2: that camaraderie dropt, but you just.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Make it happen.
- 11:53Speaker 2: And you know, we spend more time figuring out the
- 11:56Speaker 2: set lists than the actual logistics behind right, But that's
- 12:02Speaker 2: why you get you know, you get a pro in
- 12:04Speaker 2: the game and jump in on the On the last
- 12:06Speaker 2: occasion we had hard line media organized, Actually.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Do you actually like, do you advertise that you're available
- 12:14Speaker 4: to be banned for shoring musicians or is it just
- 12:18Speaker 4: right the mouth? And now Ripper go back into saying
- 12:20Speaker 4: I had these Frankiees band fucking awesome.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Give him a call.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that's that's that's how it works, man.
- 12:28Speaker 7: You know, I don't know if there is any classifieds
- 12:31Speaker 7: for that kind of thing, you know, truly, Well, yeah,
- 12:37Speaker 7: ware here for it, but no, it's just it's just
- 12:39Speaker 7: you know, you play with one cat and word spreads
- 12:42Speaker 7: in it.
- 12:42Speaker 2: You know that will organically sort of like open new
- 12:45Speaker 2: relationships around the band.
- 12:47Speaker 1: M hmm.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Yeah, that's that's the industry, you know, and provided you're free.
- 12:54Speaker 1: To do it, and.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Yeah, like capable, and we start out capable like a
- 13:02Speaker 2: bunch of this ship's a really hard learned you know,
- 13:04Speaker 2: like you say yes first, then it's like, holy fuck,
- 13:07Speaker 2: we've actually got to do that. And then I'm back
- 13:13Speaker 2: practicing like a fourteen year old for a couple of
- 13:16Speaker 2: months until it's go time. That's tell yourself you'll only
- 13:22Speaker 2: have two beers before showtime.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And then you know, ten beers.
- 13:25Speaker 5: Lady, You're like, fuck them ready now.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Don't you hate it when you just when you have
- 13:31Speaker 3: to lie to yourself and you know you're.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Lying to yourself about that daily thing about the beers.
- 13:37Speaker 3: It's a daily thing, isn't it.
- 13:42Speaker 4: So back to back to this weekend, tell us about
- 13:45Speaker 4: the Lefty Show on Saturday night.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I believe you've got got a funny story about the place.
- 13:49Speaker 3: You'll have to tell us.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Well my original partner in Frankie's Pizza.
- 13:58Speaker 2: So there were two cats, you know, and one of
- 14:00Speaker 2: these guys, Jason Scott, is a real visionary, and he
- 14:04Speaker 2: had a bit of an itch to get up to Brizzy.
- 14:07Speaker 5: After opening Frankie's. It's where he was originally from, and he.
- 14:10Speaker 8: Went up there and he was spending weekends away working
- 14:13Speaker 8: on this little project. And then before you know it,
- 14:15Speaker 8: this joint left his old time music hall and it's
- 14:18Speaker 8: sucking game changer of the place, you know.
- 14:20Speaker 2: So he was kind of the brains behind it him.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And yeah, and so historically there's like a.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Nice little tie there, and whenever I'm up there, I.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Do try and drop by.
- 14:33Speaker 2: It's I think it might have changed hands a few
- 14:37Speaker 2: times now, but the joint itself is.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Just pretty magical, you know.
- 14:41Speaker 2: And then the following night and so that'll be a
- 14:43Speaker 2: free entry thing, and I think that was devised because
- 14:45Speaker 2: there's a game, some sort of big game.
- 14:48Speaker 4: And yeah, right the Broncos just down the right from
- 14:51Speaker 4: the Broncos.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Yeah, gotcha. Yeah, And so everyone's going to.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Be all wired and walking past this bar and that's
- 14:58Speaker 2: precisely when we're going to attack. And then Most the
- 15:04Speaker 2: next day, Most Desert clubhouse in the GC the Gold Coast,
- 15:09Speaker 2: owned by the great Christian of the Beats Cartel.
- 15:11Speaker 3: What a guy.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I haven't been there.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Yes, I'm not visited, and we never do ticketed shows.
- 15:17Speaker 2: But this is a ticketed show.
- 15:20Speaker 4: But he chaid Buck, He Chaid Bucks made like got
- 15:23Speaker 4: small small Friday to see a band like yourselves.
- 15:26Speaker 5: Thanks dude. Yeah, well that's kind of what we were thinking.
- 15:29Speaker 1: That's what he sort of explained to him.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Since yeah, just.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Throw a ticket on.
- 15:34Speaker 5: So he said, okay, cool, you know we're going.
- 15:36Speaker 1: And because I know that guy doesn't really do things
- 15:41Speaker 1: in halves.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I'm certain the stage is going to sound great and
- 15:46Speaker 2: the hospitality should be pretty good because he owns me.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I'm coming early with you.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Then, I just mean he used to come and visit
- 15:57Speaker 2: Frankie's a lot when he our bands and particularly you know,
- 16:01Speaker 2: and he brought.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Out really yeah iconic deserts.
- 16:06Speaker 2: You know, he'd be in the house with these with
- 16:10Speaker 2: these cool bands that.
- 16:11Speaker 5: I was really thrilled to have in our space.
- 16:14Speaker 1: And so we take care of there.
- 16:16Speaker 2: And so Christian of course was the recipient at that
- 16:19Speaker 2: hospitality also Christian, I'm coming for you, and I'm coming
- 16:24Speaker 2: for your icy cold Bridge.
- 16:26Speaker 4: I was gonna say, I'm probably don't tell you anything
- 16:28Speaker 4: you don't already know, but don't go in there at
- 16:30Speaker 4: two o'clock on Sunday and say you're only going to.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Have two beers if you were Christian, because that ain't happening.
- 16:37Speaker 5: Unreal. Yeah, I'm actually going to meet up. I'm going
- 16:40Speaker 5: to meet up with a.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Friend of mine a little earlier, a bit before showtime,
- 16:44Speaker 2: has taken me around to some record stores.
- 16:46Speaker 5: In town and has a little thing.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Yeah, Matt Owers is a motherfucker of a guy. He
- 16:54Speaker 2: was the original singer in Samara. You know, I hate
- 16:57Speaker 2: to know about that.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, really really powerful.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Like Stone of Metal Dan and yeah he's filming this.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Then it's like a feature on people, like their little
- 17:10Speaker 2: tendencies when they're skipping through the rumble in a wood
- 17:13Speaker 2: store for some gold and yeah you sent me some
- 17:16Speaker 2: examples and so yeah, I'm really stoked to see what
- 17:18Speaker 2: sort of.
- 17:19Speaker 1: What vinyl stores are in town. I'm there getting there early.
- 17:23Speaker 5: Nice.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Nice. Now, Aside from all that side of things, right,
- 17:27Speaker 3: I was a bit more from your personal world. I
- 17:28Speaker 3: was Dingbats gone.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Yeah good.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 5: So Dingbats is like a bit of a passion project
- 17:35Speaker 5: rock club, pop up rock.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Club that is just going to occur here and there.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I was going to do it once a month, but
- 17:40Speaker 2: I felt like that was sort of oversaturating things a bit.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And it's sick, man.
- 17:45Speaker 5: It's cool, you know.
- 17:46Speaker 2: It's it's just a way to throw some up and coming,
- 17:49Speaker 2: bubbling sort of acts on a stage and get the
- 17:53Speaker 2: hard rock community together and partying and pumping.
- 17:56Speaker 5: So that's cool. And aside from that.
- 17:59Speaker 2: My company night Right is booking a bunch of different
- 18:02Speaker 2: shows and different musical ideas into different spaces and particularly
- 18:07Speaker 2: ones that don't often see them.
- 18:09Speaker 1: So you know, like crazy.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Little weird unplugged gigs in dive bars. And there's a
- 18:17Speaker 2: regional actually right down in Maribula, miles and miles and
- 18:21Speaker 2: miles away from here where you are, so about six
- 18:23Speaker 2: hours south of Sydney is this destination gig that's unfurling now.
- 18:30Speaker 2: And yeah, we're going to launch that thing pretty soon.
- 18:32Speaker 2: So I'm really excited about that. It's going to be
- 18:34Speaker 2: a matter of taking acts from Melbourne and acts from
- 18:38Speaker 2: Sydney and bringing them into this beautiful coastal, regional little
- 18:45Speaker 2: gig that's like a real motherfucker of a gig for
- 18:48Speaker 2: the performer anyway. It's like beautiful coastal thing with accommodation
- 18:53Speaker 2: and hospitality and everything rolled into it, and just an audience,
- 18:57Speaker 2: like a country town audience who were just pumped to
- 19:01Speaker 2: see something fresh and have something fresh to come through
- 19:04Speaker 2: their town. So that's the kind of shit I'm doing now.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Oh cool, good on't you brow? Before I let you go?
- 19:10Speaker 4: I've started up a new section called photo Bombs. So
- 19:12Speaker 4: basically I trolled through your social media before we chat
- 19:15Speaker 4: and I picked out a couple of photos that I
- 19:16Speaker 4: want to ask you about. Like normally, normally I have
- 19:19Speaker 4: trouble coming up with two for people, but with yours,
- 19:21Speaker 4: you got so many fucking quality photos, bros.
- 19:24Speaker 3: It was hard keeping it down to two. But I'll
- 19:26Speaker 3: start with this one. This is an old un brave
- 19:31Speaker 3: but with a bit of a bit of pistol actually involved.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that was That was my first band. They
- 19:38Speaker 2: were called Ghost Mute and surprisingly everyone there's still alive,
- 19:44Speaker 2: but those guns they were. I had a stepdad named
- 19:48Speaker 2: Bill and he had these weekend tours called Who Done
- 19:52Speaker 2: it weekends and he'd take like corporate groups and ship
- 19:56Speaker 2: would go out into the middle of the bush and
- 19:58Speaker 2: they'd stage like a murder mystery thing and the company
- 20:02Speaker 2: would need to like get together and talk ship and
- 20:04Speaker 2: figure out who the murderer was. They had all of
- 20:06Speaker 2: these like actors and ship embedded in this whole thing.
- 20:12Speaker 2: And anyway, he had all of these fucking sick pistols.
- 20:14Speaker 5: They were real guns.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Me and my.
- 20:20Speaker 2: And me and my brother found them when we when
- 20:22Speaker 2: we were at school and would take like a fucking
- 20:25Speaker 2: forty four magnum to school.
- 20:26Speaker 1: And ship hold up the lunch lady. It was fucking gnilely.
- 20:32Speaker 2: But they those those guns were eventually recurved and taken
- 20:38Speaker 2: off taken from us. I don't I don't know where
- 20:40Speaker 2: they are now, but they're not in my possession anymore.
- 20:43Speaker 3: So you catch up with you that much too?
- 20:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I was, Yeah, despite trying pretty hard.
- 20:57Speaker 4: On the little right up where I found it, it said
- 20:58Speaker 4: that the copper has got you coming out of the
- 21:00Speaker 4: you with the gun.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Oh really, man, this is like twenty five years old.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:06Speaker 3: I'm surprised you remember that much about it. Well, if
- 21:08Speaker 3: you today more. Just come to them spage and have
- 21:10Speaker 3: a look for four stories on there. The second fighter
- 21:15Speaker 3: I got for you, mate, is.
- 21:18Speaker 5: Pretty pretty cute.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Something there.
- 21:23Speaker 5: You've found some.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Some some howking shoes on the side of the street
- 21:26Speaker 3: and you try them on. Apparently.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, that that sounds that sounds about right. Yeah, yeah, man,
- 21:35Speaker 5: I remember.
- 21:35Speaker 1: That my height too.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I couldn't tell you what's cooking here, man, I can't remember,
- 21:42Speaker 2: but it looks like I might be.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Judging by the weather, it looks like I might have
- 21:45Speaker 5: been in your end of the world.
- 21:46Speaker 1: So you tell me.
- 21:49Speaker 3: It says you said you came across the parent of
- 21:51Speaker 3: stripper shoes sitting in the gutter and you thought you'd
- 21:53Speaker 3: try him on.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Sounds like a good day, Oh right, John, Well, we
- 22:01Speaker 2: could go on forever with his probe, but I'm sure
- 22:03Speaker 2: you've got other stuff to do.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Mate.
- 22:04Speaker 4: So Frankie's world famous house band is in Brisbane this Saturday,
- 22:09Speaker 4: Dune the seventh at Lefti's and Sunday Dune the eighth.

- 22:15Speaker 4: gigs if you can otherwise, get along to one brother
