- 0:03Speaker 1: A lot of people think podcasts about work are boring,
- 0:06Speaker 1: and sure they definitely can be. But understanding of professionals
- 0:10Speaker 1: routine shows us how they achieve their success little by little,
- 0:14Speaker 1: day after day. It's like banking with P and C Bank.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It might seem boring to save, plan and make calculated
- 0:21Speaker 1: decisions with your bank, but keeping your money boring is
- 0:24Speaker 1: what helps you live or more happily fulfilled life. P
- 0:27Speaker 1: and C Bank Brilliantly Boring since eighteen sixty five. Brilliantly
- 0:32Speaker 1: Boring since eighteen sixty five is a service mark of
- 0:35Speaker 1: the PNC Financial Service Group, Inc. P and C Bank
- 0:39Speaker 1: National Association Member FDIC.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Oh, okay, let's talk about tipping.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Who gets tipped? Who should you tip? What's the best
- 0:50Speaker 3: practices for end of the year tipping? You know, it's one
- 0:53Speaker 3: of these things a lot of service workers. This comes
- 0:56Speaker 3: from my key access question.
- 0:57Speaker 4: It's a great question.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Garbage garbage man, valet Parker, Like if you live in
- 1:04Speaker 3: a building that has the valet Parkers, those guys concierge service.
- 1:08Speaker 3: If you live in a building but then it goes
- 1:11Speaker 3: down teachers, Yeah, and then at what age do you
- 1:17Speaker 3: like preschool teacher stuff like that? Are you are you
- 1:20Speaker 3: giving money to your your son's high school teacher? Like
- 1:24Speaker 3: what who really needs an end of year monetary gift?
- 1:30Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:31Speaker 4: Well, Valet for sure, shout to the guys Dorman.
- 1:37Speaker 5: For sure, because they keep a lot of chaos away
- 1:42Speaker 5: teachers if they are a good teacher.
- 1:44Speaker 2: So age, what age teacher, I.
- 1:48Speaker 5: Don't know, but but the ones that I've had has
- 1:50Speaker 5: been now first through fifth. For Xander, I like his teacher,
- 1:55Speaker 5: his primary teacher a lot, so I definitely give him
- 1:58Speaker 5: something tomorrow better fact so, but I think it depends
- 2:02Speaker 5: on But even in preschool, they you may think that
- 2:06Speaker 5: they were not doing a lot, but when I would
- 2:07Speaker 5: just popping, they were. And then it was a family
- 2:10Speaker 5: run daycare. They're do a really good job. So I
- 2:12Speaker 5: brought some stuff up there for Christmas too, and then
- 2:15Speaker 5: cleaning ladies like that's like my second family. They make
- 2:20Speaker 5: my life so much easier. So those are the ones
- 2:23Speaker 5: that I take care of in my circle. Valet, Doorman, teacher,
- 2:28Speaker 5: house manager.
- 2:30Speaker 3: And it depends on if you live in an apartment
- 2:32Speaker 3: or if you live in a home too, because sanitation,
- 2:34Speaker 3: that's a home thing.
- 2:35Speaker 2: That's a private home thing.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Yeah, if you live in an apartment, you don't see
- 2:38Speaker 3: a sanitation worker, so that's not even a thought. If
- 2:40Speaker 3: you live in a home, then yeah, the sanitation guys
- 2:43Speaker 3: come and you know they come every Wednesday. They pick
- 2:47Speaker 3: up the trash, you know, so that's a more personable thing.
- 2:54Speaker 3: So I think it depending on life because a valet parker,
- 2:56Speaker 3: like I said, if you live in a building, that's important.
- 2:58Speaker 4: That's a close relationship.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Yeah, the mailman, the mailman, maybe.
- 3:08Speaker 4: It depends on the relationship.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Well, it also depends on the service.
- 3:12Speaker 3: But you know, it's just like if you know, if
- 3:14Speaker 3: like I feel like the male man's is important.
- 3:18Speaker 4: People who've been getting male like that anymore?
- 3:21Speaker 3: Na, people still get male they get bills. But but yeah,
- 3:31Speaker 3: the male the male man.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Barber, Oh yeah, Barbara for sure, Dave says.
- 3:40Speaker 5: Made that conversation go crazy about if they charging too much.
- 3:42Speaker 5: But definitely holiday time, you gotta take care of the barber.
- 3:46Speaker 2: School bus drivers mm hm, that's the good one. The
- 3:49Speaker 2: school bus drivers.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Those guys are important or women, they're important because they
- 3:55Speaker 3: make sure your kid gets to to and from. Who
- 3:58Speaker 3: are you not tipping anybody that does a bad job
- 4:01Speaker 3: just because you do something. If you're a bad sanitation
- 4:05Speaker 3: worker and you always the trash is always on the lawn, No,
- 4:09Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Tipping you because you just have horrible energy.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Orf. Yeah, if you're not a nice person. Yeah, but
- 4:15Speaker 3: if you do your job well, how much do you tip?
- 4:19Speaker 5: It depends on a relationship, to be honest, clean ladies,
- 4:23Speaker 5: they make my life so easy.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Nice gift every year, you know, because this goes back
- 4:29Speaker 3: to the wedding thing. Remember we talked about wedding. A
- 4:30Speaker 3: lot of people don't know a lot of people, especially
- 4:33Speaker 3: unfortunately our community, they don't fully understand etiquette.
- 4:36Speaker 2: A lot of times when it comes to weddings gifts.
- 4:39Speaker 3: A lot of people don't fully understand etiquette when it
- 4:41Speaker 3: comes to year end gifts, tipping, holiday tips.
- 4:45Speaker 2: They don't even know you.
- 4:46Speaker 3: They don't even know you have to do that or
- 4:48Speaker 3: that is something that is you know, expected on a
- 4:51Speaker 3: certain level. Right, So it's it's not even that they're
- 4:54Speaker 3: trying to be cheap and the thought never crossed their
- 4:57Speaker 3: mind that to give a sanitation should work one hundred dollars.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Yeah, but people also what my thing is to do
- 5:05Speaker 4: to others?
- 5:05Speaker 5: How you want them to do you so deep that
- 5:07Speaker 5: I think some people know, they just may not think
- 5:10Speaker 5: it's a requirement. Even in business, you should be sending
- 5:13Speaker 5: gifts out in the year for the people that are
- 5:15Speaker 5: taking care of you.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Bone well, that's bonus. You're in bonus.
- 5:19Speaker 5: Yeah, and a gift may not be bad in addition too,
- 5:24Speaker 5: so in combination if a person has been an exemplary
- 5:27Speaker 5: for you.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Yeah, But rule of thumb, anybody that anybody that you're
- 5:31Speaker 3: relying on, either on a daily or weekly basis, that
- 5:34Speaker 3: has a high level of customer service throughout the year,
- 5:37Speaker 3: it should be getting a tip. So if you if
- 5:39Speaker 3: you're relying on your on your sanitation worker, if you're
- 5:42Speaker 3: relying on your valet parker, if you're relying on your
- 5:45Speaker 3: concierge got your building, if you're relying on your on
- 5:48Speaker 3: your FedEx worker, if you're alying on your mail worker,
- 5:50Speaker 3: if you're a lying on your barber, if you're relying
- 5:52Speaker 3: on the lady that does your manicures, if if you're
- 5:57Speaker 3: relying on you know, your the bus driver to make
- 6:01Speaker 3: sure that your kid gets to it from school safely.
- 6:03Speaker 3: If you're relying on a on a preschool teacher that
- 6:06Speaker 3: has to stay with the kids all day, every day,
- 6:08Speaker 3: and they don't get different classes. They only have one
- 6:11Speaker 3: group of kids for the whole entire day. Because A
- 6:15Speaker 3: you're thanking them, but B you're also having some level of,
- 6:18Speaker 3: let's be honest, preferential treat treatment going forward. Yes, they're
- 6:24Speaker 3: gonna treat you better, paying in advance. Let's let's be honest,
- 6:30Speaker 3: right Like I mean, it's just one of those things
- 6:33Speaker 3: like if you have one, they're going to make sure
- 6:36Speaker 3: that you get better treatment than everybody else because you
- 6:39Speaker 3: went over and above everybody else.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Especially in the restaurant.
- 6:42Speaker 5: I set them too, Like one way to get great
- 6:44Speaker 5: service is a tip as soon as.
- 6:46Speaker 4: You get there.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Before before dinner helps a lot.
- 6:52Speaker 5: I only had a reservation. That'll go away in a
- 6:54Speaker 5: couple of times. I used to have an issue in
- 6:57Speaker 5: Sexy Fail, No.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Worry about it, thank you.
- 7:01Speaker 3: You know what your brell brought it broke it down
- 7:03Speaker 3: passport heavy shot to him. He said, what he does
- 7:06Speaker 3: is he started tipping the hotel, checking people.
- 7:12Speaker 4: It helps a lot. It helps a lot. Bro especially
- 7:16Speaker 4: La Mexico.
- 7:19Speaker 3: He's like, he starts, he's like, and then miracuously he
- 7:21Speaker 3: just starts getting room upgrades, fruit baskets sent to the realm.
- 7:25Speaker 5: Even when I go to Cabo, like, they'll connect you
- 7:27Speaker 5: with the other people that are moving to show. Hey,
- 7:29Speaker 5: do you know such and such he's the director though
- 7:31Speaker 5: I don't know. I have no clue what that Nature
- 7:34Speaker 5: documentary was on BBC. Cool connect me because you're you're
- 7:38Speaker 5: paying it forward first and they may not be able
- 7:41Speaker 5: to give you the gratitude back monetarily, but they'll be
- 7:44Speaker 5: able to do it in service or another way.
- 7:46Speaker 4: It helps. Yeah, and for.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Your cleaning people and drivers and all that. If you
