Transcript
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: How's it, Bill's fans triple coverage podcast here sponsored by seven one six barbershop and a new partner landcaster indoor bounce house with the safari adventure arcade located in Lancaster, New York right downtown.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, we dominated Pittsburgh.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Allen's ready to talk about anything but
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: the happenings with him and Cam Hayward and his comments and his interview, but we're going to talk a little bit and we're not going to go right to Cincinnati quite yet because when I have a couple of quick thoughts on that domination and revel in a bill's victory.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see if we can get more than one in a row here going in 12 and one in December last three years.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's a much another big game I had this Sunday.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was a weird weird game Sunday against Pittsburgh Definitely a slow start when it came to the offense and scoring and Yeah, I think some of those friends were a little worried at half time, but I came around the second half and got the job done Scott Casson what's going on brother?
- 1:44[SPEAKER_02]: Now watch a mystery guys last week at the spend Thanksgiving with my family
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: but could be back with you guys.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a tale of two halves last Sunday.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: I was some Bill's fans who were nervous at the half, but Joey Vosak came out set the tone, the strip sack, and then went for pickers up for the touchdown.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: Then he got a pick, a two plays later.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: So they really turned it on and who knows, maybe, you know, there was that late hit by Patrick Queen on Josh Allen that wasn't called should have been called seem to kind of get the boys fired up maybe that's the start of the championship DVD, you know, maybe that gets get some go and flips the switch gets the energy that they needed and this is what Bill's teams do every year they seem to flip the switch as we get down the stretch which is what what want them to do so let's hope that this was the switch flipping game and
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: The schedule if we thought might be easy down the stretch isn't going to be, so we'll have a tough test Joe Burrow this week, but yeah excited to talk about yes, for sure for sure, the weather is definitely.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: getting colder up here today in Buffalo that wind is cutting right through every jack at I own so definitely looking for the bills to create some heat on Sunday and they certainly did against the Steelers here.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: James Cook was on fire 32 carries 144 yards.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: That run game was pretty impressive.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: Scott, what is your first quick thought here on the bills run game?
- 3:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think they said they ran the same play 29 times and there's nothing the stealers could do about it.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's such a good feeling.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's an offensive team.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure Joe Brady was just.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: He was having a great time.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like, hey, we're going to call duo again, and I know what's going to work.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: Say what you want about his play calling.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_02]: It was on Sunday with that play.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_02]: There's no better feeling than an offensive line than when you know that the defense knows exactly what you're going to do.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_02]: And there's absolutely nothing they can do to stop you.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: Just ran the same play down their throats.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_02]: And the sealer is defensive line is not bad.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: And there was nothing they could do about it.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_02]: And it was awesome.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: The passing game left a little bit to be desired, but in those conditions, we'll take it.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: We'll take an awesome run game.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, James Cook is great.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: Shoutout Ray Davis too.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: Ray Moe.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't getting any carries at all and he I think what he had like eight for for 52 off the top of my head Which was awesome.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: He had a few big runs.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe that take return against the Texans kind of got him going because if we can have all three running backs Go in down the stretch take some of the load-off James go up that's a huge I thought he had 69 but that could I mean if that if anybody gets 69 out of pushing that's gonna stick in my head That was something else pair
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, they, uh, out Pittsburgh Pittsburgh, uh, you 62 yards.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we were had, we, we between the two of us, you had one number.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: I had the other.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, yeah, yeah, as they, uh, yeah, as they, they out Pittsburgh Pittsburgh.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, they, they went into their house and said we're just going to, we're going to out
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: out tough you in this game and yeah it was it was what they have about 45 minutes of time possession it was it was something it was a weird watch as Bill's fans because it's like you weren't blown away by the offense but they did enough and the defense looked great I know that Pittsburgh has had their ups and downs offensively this year but still it's it's a good sign that this defense is
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: even with the injuries they've had kind of put in it together and piece in it together.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: I believe they're top three in passing defense the past six weeks, which is a great sign.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it was a game where you needed it, and this is another game where you needed, and hopefully they can take that momentum defensively, especially defensively going up
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 42, basically 42 minutes to 18 minutes in time position, like you mentioned, so super critical to establish and maintain that run.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, people have been talking about Joe Brady being predictable and how bad it can be for the offense.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: It was nice.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: He would like him not to be predictable, I guess, but at least this time, they couldn't stop it.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: So even though he was predictable, they still gain the arts.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's really the fun thing for me here on the defensive side.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: Christian Ben for defensive player the week, shoot, give your shot out here to Benford and what do you be seeing from him?
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: Ben played well last couple weeks here.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he had a slow start to the season and I think you know again people it's it's a jump to I mean it's the NFL it's it's a what have you done for me lately and morally in the season when he was kind of having his ups and downs.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: People were questioning, you know, the extension and it's he actually, you know, that true number one in this past few weeks.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's really started to get put it together.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: You shadow decay my calf, my calf a lot throughout the game.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: I imagine something similar this week to Jamar Chase.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: But either way, yeah, he had a phenomenal game.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously the the full more turn for a touchdown.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then very next drive via the the interception.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just Christian men for man, I think, you know, he's a huge part of this defense and I'm going to need him to be able to step up to the rest of the season.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then I rush he's in and in the playoffs and he definitely stepped up against Pittsburgh.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Benford was great and you wonder if maybe early on in the season there was some kind of hangover from.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: But concussion he had at the end of last season, I guess concussion at the end of last season, then he was dealing with something through training camp.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_02]: He was a questionable for a week one, but looks like he's healthy now and playing awesome.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: The bills are gonna need him too, especially he's gonna have his hands full this week on either side of the field, if he shadows tomorrow or if T. Higgins who looks like he's gonna play on the other side, that's not an easier matchup.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, awesome that Benford is back and nice to have that one side of the field and you just don't have to worry about him more.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the biggest thing, that trust, that feeling that our guys is back and able to sort of tell another team's one if we need it or however they want to play it, make Durma talk a little bit about whether people are switching sides or staying to left or right, but Benford's got that knack to want to command that number one receiver, certainly going to get his hands full no matter what side of the field he's on this week, probably, but
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's it's super nice to have sort of that high high level player back on the back end of the defense and You know, I think McDermott sort of Accounts it to being you know complimentary with the rush being there and the rest of the guys all doing what they need to do the help CB Have his success and but I think CB's definitely racist game and it's nice to see
- 9:11[SPEAKER_01]: uh... going to do all uh... you know sky had this on there might as well just roll it all into one here uh... seven one slicker the week this week is going to be a shout out to alic Anderson and Ryan van the mark uh... guys let's talk about how these guys come in two tackles tj watt on the other side of the ball
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Certainly, Alec Anderson had a couple of the penalties in one up, but zero sacks as John Roberts here in the comments telling us as well.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: Very good job for Anderson and Band-March.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: So just talk about that effort and and shout out to the seven one slickers of the week, seven one slicks our proud sponsor here.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: Just got my cut today.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: So check that out there in on Broadway.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: I knew something used different.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the QR code if you scan this, you can book your cut directly with them on the cut app or just head over the cut app and select seven one slick spider show.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I like interesting.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: I had a little bit of a rough start with the the penalties, but yeah, I've been when I came to take special chickens to do what in that defense vine.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: They handle them pretty well, and you know, it's one of those things where I think a lot of people were worried going into this game about the tackles and how they would kind of hold up, but.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: They showed that we know that we know our assignments and know what we're doing when it comes to an each play, what we're supposed to do.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: I do think the noise maybe a little bit early was the reason for Anderson's slow start to get used to that Pittsburgh.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: I would Pittsburgh get another stadium where they can, they can definitely get loud and then... That TJ wants.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: And TJ Watts pretty pretty good, you know, trying to get ahead start there.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: I was too.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: So, but he cleaned it up.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's the one thing that you want to see.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to see it happen all the game.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I mean, it was nice to be able to see him step up and see that trust that Josh and cooking in the rest of the year that offense has in in them.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll get understand.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_02]: I think they said hadn't played tackle since college at UCLA and your mom does a couple starts like
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: She did actually, uh, a couple of false starts or against TJ Watt, like I would fall start to, I'd be trying to get ahead and start as well.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, Vanderbilt, you weren't worried about him.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: We've seen him spot start from some games and he's been fine.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: Anderson, it just didn't know that he had that in his bag to go out there and play tackle.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: He thought maybe Grable would do it, coming back, like he's had this terrible concussion that's taken him all season that the magically healed when our two tackles got hurt, which
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: But it was nice that Alec Anderson was able to just slide over.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's an awesome team guy here that all the time.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: It was the six offensive line and last year played a ton.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: Now they have Jackson Halls.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't play as much.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_02]: He hasn't really had many snaps.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: So awesome for him to not see the field a whole lot to go in at right tackle.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: His body hasn't played years.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: And have a...
- 12:19[SPEAKER_02]: A fine game against TJ Watt and leading the charge in the run game a lot of those runs went to the right side So good for him.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see if the tackles are back this week But if they're not against a bengals, the line without a tray and tricks in out there I think these two are more observable
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Anderson's pretty wild when I talk to him at Deondalkon's car show he's you know his favorite thing he said about Bill's mafia and stuff was getting around this time when he'd get the snowballs out in chuckham maybe he just loves the the wild and crazy so he just bits right in to this fan base so well too so
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to Alec Anderson, great performance and just nice stepping in.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, you had faltered a little bit with some penalties, but overall was solid and Banda Mark is a luxury really to have as a sixth offense of Lyman to be able to play with very little drop-off and whichever tackle spot you need him to.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: I've been impressed with him as well.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not much more to say.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: They are the seven one slickers of the week here on the triple-coverage podcast sponsored by seven one-slicks barbershop and landcaster indoor bounce house with this safari adventure arcade.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: Next one quick thoughts here.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: Brandon Cook's Gabe Davis to receivers added to this roster.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: prior to the Pittsburgh game.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: We saw Brandon Cooks obviously get that third down target early.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: Not too much from Gabe.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: Ben and I loved Gabe Davis's stat lines in the books against Pittsburgh.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: And we did not win any money on those.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: Only someone told you not to take them.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: Someone should have.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: What do you get on Cook Scott and Gabe and how do you think this offense is going to roll with, you know, the addition of Cook's subtraction of Elijah Moore.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, we still have injuries out there with Palmer and Colonel Samuel, but how do you think those two integrate?
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and Gabe coming up was holding me a matter of time.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: And once soon as he was healthy, the elevated him right away, and then he came up with the active roster when he was out of elevation.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: So that made sense, and he's already integrated himself.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: He almost didn't really happen.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: So a reintegration, I guess, because he kind of felt like he never left.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: You know, at the Jacksonville first, he's in came right back, not getting the same target share that he got before.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's playing a much different role, exactly the same number of snaps, which is a good thing.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: But we know a game can do.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: He can stretch the field and Josh Allen clearly trusts him.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_02]: So he's going to contribute, obviously, and he's great in the run game, blocking Brandon Cooks.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_02]: I guess he's not what he used to be but he definitely still has some speed and if nothing else he's a downfield threat that this team didn't have and he was a veteran that got released to went to the team he wanted to go to, which we'll talk about in a little bit is not always the case.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, he's a downfield threat.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: He can run fast, he can run straight and he's going to help a ton and make a big difference.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so, but
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: He's a capable body with a lot of experience.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm sorry.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have my Gabe Davis jersey picture to post here.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: We'll turn the show, but just know that I do have a Gabe Davis jersey and very excited about his return to Buffalo.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's reading their right tackles.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: Any drop in?
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: Go for your.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm dead.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: games a games a guy that is trusted by Josh, you saw that if you haven't in his first game, didn't really need to do much, you know, this past game obviously with how much they were, they were looking, you know, to run the ball.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, Gabe, I think, can be that guy that, you know, when Josh needs somebody to go to that he trusts, that's it, it even on the interception, you know, yes, it was to Gabe Davis, but that was not Gabe
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: uh... credit definitely been thrown a little bit better there by Josh but uh... yeah i mean he'll he's a miscommunication on it i i just i said he charge said he threw a spot and gave stopped he's a genius is agged yeah well i thought he was going to keep going in front of the dv but he stopped at the soft spot get Josh to worry thought game was going to go so it's not a small but like it wasn't
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: Well, like, it was a bad throw on Josh's fault.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I didn't get a completion.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a bad throw on me on my.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: That is one of the things we're developing at the ground.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: It is one of those things where it was hopefully with Gabe having the history with Josh, that it doesn't it's one of those things that, hey, it happened once they can clean it up and now they're on the same page again.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: Um, cooks, you know, I'm definitely excited to see, see cook get cooks get more involved as he, you know, gets more integrated in the offense learns the offense more has worked with a lot of the coaching staff before in the past so I think, you know, it allows you to handle Palmer a little bit differently, maybe.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: ease him back even more with that ankle.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, with concave also not exactly looking like he might not be back.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's something that he might have to step up earlier than thought.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, it's nice to see another guy come in that hopefully can come come in and help down this stretch.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: Elijah Moore did not seem to
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: be working out, and I think that's really what led to the cutting of him is, is just that he didn't think it was working, they didn't think it was working.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, you end up moving on to cooks, and now hopefully you can get a little bit more production out of cooks than you did out of the Azure more.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, productions, the main goal here, right?
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think you have to really look at what the usage is going to be.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's been the talk about the receivers we do have here as well.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, um,
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like the receivers we have don't have any talent, but are they gonna be utilized to their strengths and get something productive out of them?
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: We were able to throw in the Buccaneer's game and then there's plenty of games where hasn't worked at all.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: So looking for some sort of build here, starting this week, it's gonna be a little bit snowy potentially and definitely near freezing.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: we'll see what the past game looks like.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be more difficult as the season rolls on and it's good to see that we can run the ball when we need to but at the same time I definitely want to be able to throw the ball when we need to and that'll remain to be seen here.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're going to need to again Cincinnati so we'll get into that whole preview and I'm excited to see obviously everyone has heard my excitement on Davis.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need to keep going on that but cooks
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: brings a little bit of a different like Scott said, you know, the speed element and some verticality there.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what they can do with it.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: If anything, if he's still got enough to make an impact, going through the injury report here, well, well, well, well, we're not going to the injury report.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: Good stop.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: Go for it, Ben.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, as everybody's probably heard by now, there's a big place where I was claimed by the bills, and there's a look right now to say, I'm going to retire, not coming here, and I wanted to go to Philly, and that's pretty much it.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, the bills did wave to mark a single in the process and he gets way acclaimed by Houston.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you guys already kind of heard my thoughts on it earlier today of just, you know, it, yeah, it sucks.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: I wish that there was some sort of plan in place for the NFL if this does happen, or you don't have to lose both your player and not get the player.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so yeah, it's one of the things that sucks for the bills, but, uh, yeah, I, I'll, I'll have my thoughts quick as just, you know, I think it's weak on Slays part his agents part.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: Pith Pittsburgh knew it's weak on their part and I know people want to blame being and yes, maybe you should have done a little bit of a better job of making sure that Slay wanted to come here.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, I don't think that you would expect somebody I'd never at least heard of somebody doing this in the past where they get claimed and they're like, I'm not coming.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, maybe being sure to double check with the agent beforehand, he could not talk to Slay, due to tampering roles, but he could have talked to the agent.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, just a little weak on Slay's part, especially if this is it for his career, that's a pretty weak way to go out.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: But who knows, maybe the bills can somehow talk him into showing up and playing the rest of the season firm, but does not look like it now looks like they might be looking for some corner depth.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm pretty sure, and based on a quick Google confirm, this happened to the bills before with a guy from the Steelers.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_02]: Dree Archer, remember him?
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: They're really fast kid from Toledo, running back.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: Steelers would cut him, Bill signed him.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_02]: He said I'm retiring.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: So it does happen.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to play for the team that claims you.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: If you just want to say I'd rather not play, that that's your right.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: They don't.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: own you.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: So it sounded like it was Philly, you're nowhere, and I saw them stuff about that of Philly social media yesterday of saying this was a real possibility.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: And it happened and you don't like blame Brandon Bean.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I guess he could have talked to Drew Rosenhouse, who's his agent, and maybe he did.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he was like, yeah, like
- 22:16[SPEAKER_02]: Slay wants one more player like we don't know what was set but we don't know what being did We don't know what was said to him.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: So it's kind of he can't really judge that.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: It is a ball I didn't really understand why they signed him in the first place.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: I understand that he's depth and he has experience, but he's not good anymore.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's a reason he's been a sign of cornerback.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, like there's a reason he got caught in Pittsburgh like
- 22:39[SPEAKER_02]: Pittsburgh caught him because they elevated me trying to santae Sammy.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like, say, was a very good last year.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_02]: He was the weakest link on that Eagles defense.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: And he's got a great career.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: He's just older.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I would rather have Jamaican syndrome than various like, because they're a slice not going to play specialty.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's very assays, not going to play inside there.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_02]: The Mark Zinger can do anything.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be awesome at it, not necessarily, but he can't do it.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: So I didn't really understand it in the first place.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_02]: And then hearing that he's probably just going to retire doesn't feel great, because they're cutting him.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's a guy who went to UB, was on the practice squad for two years, fought his way to the active roster, defense of player, the Wii two picks against the dolphins, and kind of served carved out a nice niche for himself here
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: He got caught for a guy who doesn't end up showing up, definitely sucks, but I don't know if I want to say it's being spault because he got like, we didn't Who knows what happened?
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Drew Rosenhaus said, yeah, man, he's got one last run in on what to do it And then he looked at the weather report for Sunday and said, no, I'm going to go combo But yeah, who knows?
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's definitely just a point, but like you don't have to play for the team and claims you Then slaves is showing that that's the case
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't really have much more to say on that.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't like it.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: It seems strange and I don't, I'm not going to play a blame game on anything.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: They made a move.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: The guy doesn't want to be here.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: Ron is Cincinnati.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: So Josh says, he said that first.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: He did that first.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_02]: But he just said it most recently.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: All right, injured pork guys Bernard did not practice both days both a week to week with his hamstring Spencer Brown limited Dawkins limited AGA Vanessa pops up today as it did not practice.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: Reed Ferguson listed with a neck here as full, Gilliam Full, Haas Full, Thong can cade two limited practices here, seen with a brace on his knee today.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: That'll be big.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get into that a little bit about how that could help the bill's offense.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Palmer did not practice either day either.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: That injury did not look very good when he got tackled either, so I'm not sure.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: Just as weird, if he's going to be out another week, they could have, they have just put them on IR and designated or they out of designations at this point.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_02]: What the benefit might be, but another roster spot anyway, we can bring, we can bring four guys back still.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: CJ Sanders full both days.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that, yeah, what do you guys make in the injuries, Scott, take it wherever you want here.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it looks like brown and being in their way back.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think Dion probably can play this weekend.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: That wouldn't be surprised if they give Spencer one more week.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_02]: Just because it be unclear as protocol.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to play and he looks like he's on his way to doing that.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: Concage showing up with the knee was a little concerning because the PCL me from last year that gave him a ton of trouble.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: maybe he tweaked it when he was rehabbing and doing some extra stuff or maybe it's just kind of bugging him all along in the brace cautionary which he hoped but he definitely looked pretty stiff in the videos that you saw on social media today at him just kind of warm enough but it didn't really look like he was moving super fluidly so you don't love that and it's kind of take it a step further.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: The bills have a big decision to make on dog decay
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: When he's on the field, it's, yeah, it's a no-brainer like he's, he's our tight-evlogging, not wants to do that, but then he's only going to play 50, 60% of the games.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_02]: Then when he does he's going to bang up, he's banged up like it is that worth it.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: So, and I have a big decision to make on cancade coming this off, see, it's not going to be any easy.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, it's, it's really tough because I mean, I even saw a tweet on about, you know, Isaiah likely and you know, maybe he's concave replacement and I had just commented, you know, concave would also be a good concave replacement.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, this guy's points like if you're not on the field, you know, health is, being available is the greatest, greatest trait you can have and then being able to be on the field.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I mean this year it looked like it was that breakout year.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: It was the year that concave was finally introduced and say hey, this is there's a reason they they went up and took me and and It's to shame that it's kind of been derailed by injuries because man he really was looking like the number one, you know, off of option in that passing game the guy that was really would make the other passing game really go
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, it sucks to see concave.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully, he can come back and be healthy.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: One, he does get back, whether that's next week, this week, whatever it is.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, it sucks Brown and Dion will see as they go on.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_00]: Good news is like we said, it does look like they hopefully if elk Anderson van Marken can do it.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_00]: can step up again if they need to.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: Bosa is a little bit concerning, hopefully that Bosa, if he, if he, if he, it's not too serious where he can come back, but you know, we're really not with Bosa and with hamstrings that they can linger.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then Palmer's a weird one, I'm just hoping that Palmer can at least, you know, like I said, hopefully cooks and Gabe can kind of keep it together this week and hopefully then Palmer's back the week after, but we'll see that it's obviously as time goes.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: And man, or it's part about this game is the injuries and, you know, bills have had plenty this year.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sorry there, tooth fairy is going to be coming tonight on his birthday.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: So shout out to Theo, my son, his sixth birthday today.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: Also just lost the tooth.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: So now we get to have the elephant.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: The shelf is going to arrive tonight.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: The tooth fairy is coming.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: This is a full day here in the Nelson household.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, can Kate spend, like you guys mentioned,
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: a good tight end for the bills, but not always available and I'm interested to see like Scott mentioned how that plays out with his contract situation and and where they're going to go.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think they like him enough to bring him back and pick up that option, but you know, he's got to.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: show something there, but so week to week is super frustrating.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about it all off season all season long that, you know, he's got to stay healthy for us.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: And he has and he's been pretty good.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: And now time is on there.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: If he's going to be hurt, we'd rather have him be hurt now.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, he's been dealing with the risks.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe he takes two, three weeks off.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: and dot and then he comes back for the playoffs and he's a hundred percent back from the press.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: Come back in the news game, maybe, and be fresh, hopefully, and make it through the news.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't in a fun game.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_02]: You knew he wasn't going to do that.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_02]: So this is a couple here.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: He's less likely to get certain January.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we'll see you.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: I hope so, you know, Roy mentions here that Fox Morgan Fox getting called up.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_01]: I would certainly predict that seems very likely.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, Bosa, you know, had that strip sack on Rodgers was very, very good.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll see how we progress here.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: Look, the bills need some defensive ends now to AJAP and us.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: So now deal with some stuff.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where that Morgan Fox comes in.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll see what else they might try to do to they're down to four.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: And now they basically have two healthy and got to get someone
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: Rollin' in here, I would assume at some point trying to see what they do to the game.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: Shack Losson and Morgan Fox, there we go.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I get once again, shout out to everyone's looks barbershop, Broadway, and to Pew, Lancaster, and door bounce house, downtown, and Lancaster here.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: Check out those sponsors, very grateful for those.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: One other mention is Southern to your brewing company, and also shout out to Cheekot Athletics.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have those built different hoodies at the tailgate with us for sale.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be doing some content around that tomorrow.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: and shout out to we nuts tomorrow.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be out at we nuts doing a little interview with Osiris Torrance.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, throughout the show, if you guys have any questions, comments for Osiris Torrance, feel free to drop them in the comments here, send them to us on social media, and we'll try to get one of your questions in.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: to Osiris Torrance if we are able to and there's our handles there for you, if you want to shoot us a message on X or otherwise shoot them in the comments here and Be happy to try to take a good one to to Torrance.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_01]: Offence a preview now speaking of Torrance.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: Scott, take us through.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: You want to do the offense and maybe Ben can run through the defense.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: He can read the depth chart there and get this pregame previewed up right.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'll do whatever you want, Lance.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: So the bagel is defenses.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: How you say, not good.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: They're also bad.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: They're right.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: 30 second in the league, which for those of you who don't know like Ben is last, you can't count that high.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_02]: They're lasting a lot of categories, including yards for
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: points per game and per play including passing yards giving up her game.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_02]: So they're not a good team.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_02]: The bill should be able to move the ball through the air and on the ground.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: But it's still the NFL and those guys get paid to play too.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_02]: They looked really good against the Ravens on Thanksgiving last week, which was surprising and didn't make me feel great.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: But then what's one way that you would like to attack this Bangle's defense and how do you see the bill being successful as many other teams in the league have that against them?
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think you know, you saw with the Ravens they turn the ball over and they didn't take what was given and that's one thing with the bills got to do whether it's the one game of the past game to take what they they give you.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but yes, they played well against the Ravens, but again, the Marjax might be having the worst stretch of his career right now he was being dug.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: put a points up on the board.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, I think, you know, I say it almost every week, but you gotta take care of the football.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta do it if you're the only times that this offense really hurts this team majorly is when they turn the ball over.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: And you saw it with the Ravens last week, against the Bengals, where they have five turnovers, and Lamar, I think had three of them.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: you're going to lose games like these to an offense that we're going to get to with the bangles if if you've given them this money to that many chances you got to take care of the football take what's given to you if it's not working early stick with it don't force it it will open up because as Scott said this defense is not good they're bad they're horrendous they're worse than the league whatever you want to describe them in a bad way that is what they are
- 34:37[SPEAKER_00]: take what's given and don't turn in the ball over.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think they're going to need the weather.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to be terrible, but it's not going to be ideal for checking the ball over the yard either.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that you have to, you're going to have to establish the run and keep the time of possession in your favor like they did against Pittsburgh.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's even more true here as Scott noted here that keeping burrow off the field,
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a priority for this offense to help their teeth ends out, and that's really the big key that I wanted to talk about.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so we talked earlier about Dalton's concave, and if he was going to play or not, the bangles are, I think there's a worse than the league at almost every.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_02]: since this will have to worry against Tideth.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: They've given up 13 touchdowns against Tideth which is double any other team.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: They give up almost 100 yards of games to Tideth, which is way more than any other team.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_02]: So if Concade can come back and is able to play, this should be a game that he could be, like this should be Concade goes off game.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_02]: There you go, if he can't,
- 35:49[SPEAKER_02]: because he didn't look super shifty in practice this week.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, we're not there for everything, but what we saw definitely looks like things are hampering him.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_02]: Lance, are you confident in Knox pause and lot to to be able to exploit that in the case that can't, may not be able to go.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if Josh is even confident in Knox.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not really sure, but we'll see about
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: fair fair.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not confident in knocks.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I was more confident in them.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I could say better things.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: The contract he has, the role he has, I just don't know, I hope he proves me wrong this weekend goes out there and has a game.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: But Jackson Haas, I'd like to see more out of, I don't, I don't know that he's shown me he can't do one thing or another.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that he's shown me he can.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: right yet.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not ready to make that determination based on his tape this season.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to see a little bit more from halls.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to see him get the opportunities.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not saying he should be playing over knocks by any means.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that that's necessarily the case.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I do want to see what he's got and have get him a few targets this week and see what he can do.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: Those were the words of a disgruntled
- 37:18[SPEAKER_00]: um maybe this is a lot to game who knows uh if it can kated on an unavailable we'll see uh Lance will be batten at one as well so if everybody don't don't bet it now because Lance already on his phone right now hitting that hit net place bat button but uh yeah I mean yeah it knocks yeah he doesn't want to stop lived up to the contract but uh you know it's crazy because it early on in his career he looked like a guy that yeah can be somebody that
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: can be a weapon in an offense and I know that that video was posted about him just instead of being those few years ago now at this point where you stiff armed one guy to the ground and bull those is over the other I think stiff armed I think it was Jesse Bates and might have been the start of that downfall for Jesse Bates there.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah I mean it's something that you you hope maybe you see this weekend maybe you see you know
- 38:13[SPEAKER_00]: get knocks a little bit involved and let him get a little bit run after the catch, but yeah, it's, it's, it's, hopefully they can, like, they can get a go and I, yeah, I've done, I did not know a lot who's a good catch.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: I thought he'd only been called up twice, but I guess he was called up earlier.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're all fine.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: Also appointing to send like trade Hendrix and not going to play.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: That's just the top situation for them.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_02]: He wanted to be traded.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_02]: He wanted an extension.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_02]: They just gave him a rework to deal with doesn't seem like you super happy with it.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_02]: hasn't been been playing a ton.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_02]: But good news for us if he doesn't play because he's really the only guy on that the line that really worries you and if we don't have to deal with him, that's a big plus like the Swiss flag, a big plus.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: indeed indeed.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think that not having him lined up across from either of the tackles who may or may not be playing injured or may or may not be back up, so although we said Anderson and Van Amark did an admiral with job against TJ Watten Company, I'd just would rather give the bills another sort of plus this week and not have to deal with that sort of game
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, at least these bangles fans got to go to one Super Bowl with them three years ago, which was also what the last time we made the playoffs.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, at least they got that memory that they can always look back on and still look back on to this day.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_02]: So we'd be chauvero with holding from commenting on any any bad bangles things because they'd we haven't beat it.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: That was, you know, they haven't beat a lot of the league the last three years.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh,
- 40:06[SPEAKER_00]: it is what it is but yeah I mean yeah we'll see obviously hopefully that does help to the offense takes a little pressure off of the offensive line and Josh and they're able to sit back there and hopefully Josh has a good clean pocket this weekend but yeah we'll see you guys got anything else on the offense versus being a defensive
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: score in more points than I think will be a good shape.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_01]: I do want to see.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like I said, the biggest thing I'm interested in with the passing game.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about the Bengals defense against the past, not being very good.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: Just don't know if the elements are going to allow you to pass, though, so we'll see how that works out.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: It may need to be more of a running game.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to be a snow game, but I don't believe, but I think there will be
- 40:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, that could also, though, be a good factor for the bills, although they might get another cool video of Joe Burroughs throwing the ball on some snow that they can have.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, the reason why I'm talking about it.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: And again, they blew us out.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm, you know, it's just, they'd be like us, you know, just going on and on about like the Ravens.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we beat them because it's okay.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_00]: But at the end of the day,
- 41:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's the opposite of, like, Raven's fans of DOS, where, never mind, just won't move on here.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_02]: Deep.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_02]: Until we beat him.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just knocking on a knock on the top down.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_00]: I like, look, I like to borrow, and I like, I like, I like, you know, Jamar Chase, I like Chase Brown, but, you know, when you are consistently, again, availability, you can't say healthy, and then, you know, you want to continue to go back on a couple of games a few years ago.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't mean much, and now it's on to this week.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully, those can get to win this week.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: I did also see I was listening to the WDR this morning.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_00]: Bills are oh and three counts.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_00]: That one match.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_00]: They're all in three against men, the playoffs.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_00]: 17 and four against them in the regular season.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully you can take the head to head lead.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_00]: 17 to 14.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: 17, 14 is what I think.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's not the 17, 17.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's close enough to 32.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: You're not proven to point if you can count that.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what I just said.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, it's it's late.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_00]: Long day.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know where I am.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: I have no um on the eye to the defense on the defense.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_00]: We already mentioned a little bit.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be a bigger challenge than last week for for the bill's defense.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: They are I believe yet top three in EPA all season for passing a defense, which is kind of a shock.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of people, uh, shackla or shack Thompson when he's in the line up and trouble
- 43:04[SPEAKER_00]: they go from 5.5 yards per rush with Bernardin, 3.7-1 of Shack Thompson, so you've started to kind of see a little bit of a shift there while Shack Thompson is man in the defense here.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_00]: But, again, this is a offense that is high-powered if they get T-Higgins back, who looks like he might be back, because I believe he was up full participant today.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_00]: I at least limited full, the up full participant today,
- 43:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really know if there's anything I really need to say about tomorrow chase to our chase is tomorrow chase.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's one of the best in the league and chase Brown started to get it going recently as well.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: So this offense man, they got weapons, Joe Borrow is a phenomenal quarterback when he's down the field.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: And this defense, it's going to be a test.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: So what do you think Scott, what's the what's the key to the defense this weekend?
- 43:57[SPEAKER_02]: try to contain Jumar Jace and T. Higgins.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: If they both play, they're about as good as a one-two punch as you have in the NFL.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe then Dallas is close, but I would give the edge to Chase.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_02]: And Higgins and Joe Burrow didn't love how good he looked on Thanksgiving.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_02]: Was expecting some rust, was expecting him to kind of still be feeling himself out now.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_02]: He went out and looked like Joe Burrow.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_02]: That's a pretty good defense.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't look like he was feeling himself.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would much rather be Joe Flacco, but hey, we got Joe Barron Joe Flacco, they love him here in Baltimore, but the bagels they run the ball less than any other team in the league, which those receivers makes a lot of sense.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: But if you can make them one dimensional and a game that Lance mentioned is going to have some elements in the air, which I believe there's always elements in the air, but especially ones here on Sunday, you can make them all right, you can make them one, we'll tell you what that means after the show.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: If you can make them one dimensional, you can make it really hard to do that.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_02]: So, they can somehow contain Chase and Higgins when we got it shot.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_01]: Excellent, excellent stuff.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, we got to also contain the big runs from
- 45:13[SPEAKER_01]: the bangles because it's not like they're not capable of it against the bill's defense who is susceptible to that so you still have to be aware you know chase brown still a decent running back and has the ability to to break some some runs off on you so you do have to be buttoned up there but.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, it's going to be, you know, do not give up explosive plays over and over again.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_01]: So this will be, we just talked about Christian Benford defense player the week last week.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_01]: And let's see, like, where he's really, yeah, this is good of a litmus test, as you're going to get on a guy.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: So this is what I'm looking to, I'm going to be looking in the secondary all day for the bill's defense to be,
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: trying to blank it, chase, and T-Higgins, we'll see if T-Higgins actually does play, and it gets back, but looks like he has a chance at the very least.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I still want to say, you know, let's try to limit chase brown.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm worried about with this defense is if you focus too much on the chasing Higgins duo and stopping everything there.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: Does that allow the the run game for the Bengals to find something even though it hasn't been greater they haven't done it a lot and then the second thing really
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: How can they get pressure on Joe Burrell, right?
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: We're down Bosa, maybe down Eponecin now.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_01]: So where is that pressure going to come from?
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have TJ Sanders kicking out to edge it sometimes.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: Is Dion Walker going to be able to press up the middle and try to get in Burrell's face who else really can step up.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_01]: and make an impact, can we see Craig Russo sort of take over a game at all, haven't seen haven't seen one, at least this big is like we saw last year, we had that three sack game against Arizona at the first game of the year and whatnot, but let's see if he can take over and really come through for this defense, but I think they're gonna have to get some guys on on blitzes and try to find
- 47:29[SPEAKER_02]: And you mentioned pressure started to cut your off end just when you're going to they're going to have to try to manufacture pressure by Yeah, fronts and blitzes and quarterbacks like Joe burrow with receivers like they have who when when they blitz can get open is generally not a great Recipe for success.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see like you they rush for and say hey, we're going to try to cover for five seconds.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_02]: So they try to heat them up and get it out quick kind of they have if you do them.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, we're going to need
- 47:56[SPEAKER_02]: One of those guys on the DLIME to show up and make some plays by themselves.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: But they're going to have the next thing.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: Those pressures as well.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're going to have to have some chances with what's in.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: Cowboys are just melting down right now.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's insane.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: Do you see that press out roll back and then throw it backwards to lose 16 yards?
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: Classic.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: And for us, in Turfford, it's in just a... Humboldt's a...
- 48:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's a puddle.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's a puddle.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_02]: Now, if I'm curious of, oh, it's on Ferguson.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, sorry, fantasy, you know.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, I'm going to talk, well, I also, I'm playing, you know, me and my fantasy.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'm playing Ferguson and fantasy.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_02]: And he recovered the backwards pass for 16 yards.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: So that's a minus 16-yard rush for Ferguson.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_02]: Awesome, he's amazing.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's huge.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's awesome.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, uh, when it comes to those defense for me, I, I'm a degree of plants that are like, yeah, you, you wanted to limit Jamar Chase and he Higgins, but if you pay so much attention to Chase, even if it's just Chase, that will allow Higgins to get get open and that will allow Chase Brown to get going.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm always, you know, usually, and like, you know, Chase Brown is going to get his, he's going to, he is just that or Jamar Chase, Jamar Chase is going to get his, he's just that good of a player.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_00]: everybody else and say, you know, you know, we know Chase is going to beat us here and there, limit him as much as we can, but really shut down everybody else.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's to me, always going to be the key to success is just don't let the underdog is or not the underdog is just the the quieter offensive players on their their their offense beat you.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so yeah, I mean, Christian Benford,
- 49:44[SPEAKER_00]: Let him do what he's got to do, and yeah, he'll get beat a few times.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's just going to happen, you know, especially when you're going up against the player of that caliber.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_00]: But everybody else is going to have to step up against Chase Brown against T Higgins.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_00]: I get after Joe Burrow may come uncomfortable.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let him sit in the pocket.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it's definitely a easier said than done situation.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see how they do.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, defense bigger tests this week than last week against Pittsburgh.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so yeah, are you guys got anything else on the defense at all?
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: No, that pretty much says what we needed to say.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right, uh, Scott, give us your fantasy starts and sits here this week.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_02]: Starting high school stage championship games.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: New York high school football state championship games are this weekend.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_02]: My own moderate serotonous springs is in double a game Saturday at six.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_02]: I don't believe serotonous one of state championship before.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_02]: I made the state semis when I was there.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_02]: Did not win.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_02]: So, they count CBA Syracuse.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_02]: So, run on the blue streaks and hope that they can take this one home.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_02]: One of my old teammates is in coach, so pretty cool to see and having some success.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sitting flight delays.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_02]: applying the Buffalo tomorrow for the game didn't want to drive this weekend.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_02]: I flight isn't until tomorrow afternoon.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's already delayed.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_02]: So, yes, it is the season for that.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm also sitting on championship games that don't mean anything.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, really excited for college.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_02]: Conference championship weekend in NCAA football, but the 12 team playoff is kind of made it where I don't really mean anything.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: Ohio State Indiana is going to be awesome, but they're both going to get buys.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: The Alabama loses to Georgia, the Paul's three losses.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're still going to get in.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: The UIU, if they lose, they maybe don't get in, but the way the system is right now, these hands really don't need anything.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_02]: So, I'm going to be interested to see what they do to change that.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they have a play-in system in addition to the conference championships, like a third place game for that other spot, but it is just kind of a bummer this weekend, used to mean.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think people still want to be conference champs, but especially James Madison.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_02]: I always say it was not the conference champ last year, and they won the national championship.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_02]: I can tell you which one they care more about.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely, for sure.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm going to start Cleo Schkeer in this game and I'm going to sit Prater, because the guy can't make an extra point, apparently.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_01]: Kicker over 40, kicking in the cold.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm good.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think most league, if you miss an extra point, does not count for an negative and fantasy leagues.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_00]: And it's only one point if you do make it.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think it does now in ours after you've complained so much.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it doesn't make sense if you miss a kick, you miss a kick.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_00]: Why, if anything, extra points should be like minus.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_00]: If you miss an extra points, it should be minus like five.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_01]: It should actually be minus ten or something crazy.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: Should be astronomical.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_00]: All I know though is if we get another penalty after we score, if they get another penalty after we score, can we please accept the penalty on the extra point?
- 53:02[SPEAKER_02]: No, field position game.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: Bend doesn't know the rule.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_00]: The instead of having them kick eight and then the wind a 20, what is a 25 or 28 yard on the fifth and 37.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so the extra point or the dealers.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I come up 15 yards.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_00]: Have them kick 50 something in the yard or on an extra point.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_02]: 47 yarder.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's from the 30 math, but I was rather taken on the kick.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_02]: It is and the extra one's from the 15.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_00]: So then you go to 30 and then add to it.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_00]: It makes it four to seven.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, before you.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_00]: Four to seven yards.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, I can kick off.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_02]: I would have to take it on the kickoff.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_02]: Because the new kickoff rule, if you kick out of bounds, you get 25 yards from where you kick it off.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_02]: You kick it off in 50, you give it to them on the 25.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_02]: You gain in 10 yards.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, 10 yards.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_00]: But the points, points are worth them missing one point as what we've seen in the world.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's just against Houston.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_00]: That came what we're going to over time if they would have made it extra point.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_01]: 100% what of?
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: Matt Prater missing that extra point, I'd rather have them chasing those lost to Houston to point.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_00]: Then what's the not get 10 yards difference?
- 54:13[SPEAKER_00]: But hey, that one wasn't that bad.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_00]: The first one was the one that really it was annoying because it's like just go, especially if you're like, just go for go for two on the one like an extra point.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_00]: You get two now and now it adds up.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to start, uh, as much as I hate to say that I think I'm going to start Chase Brown.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_00]: I just, you know, I think that he's getting the ball out of the backfield a lot as well.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be one of those games where I think if they do try to shut down Chase into Higgins, he's going to be a guy that can open things up.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to sit my brain this weekend, uh, because as you can see, it's been a long, long week.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh, I need to kind of do a mental reset here.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_00]: and having to deal with that traffic.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I will be even more tired and you can see me at the tailgate and it doesn't look like you know much going on here.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's not much time.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_02]: Are we going to see you at the tailgate?
- 55:14[SPEAKER_00]: This can be an excuse if you can get ahead.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see me this weekend.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_00]: You can't you know guarantee what time but I will be there.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_01]: Although Monster Energy will not not any longer be the official sponsor of it, we will still have Monster Energy product at the big tree in here.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll be happy to give that away to folks that want to get jacked up for a 1 o'clock freezing game.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_01]: And like I said earlier, we'll also have built different hoodies by
- 55:52[SPEAKER_01]: I wear them if that matters to you or not, probably not, but go out there and come out to the big tree and if you want to get your built different hoodie, they're pretty darn cool and super comfortable and very warm.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_01]: So you're going to need them this time of year underneath that jacket and make it make a good layer.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: So other than that, what's your game prediction guys?
- 56:21[SPEAKER_02]: 31 24 bills.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_02]: I think the bills win.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's pretty high scoring and pretty pretty good offences to pretty okay defense.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_02]: Well, one okay defense one pretty bad defense.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think 31 24 bills.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_00]: I go with, you know, if you know this score, it happened a few years ago on a shootout game, I think it's going to shoot out 51 54.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully it's just a phenomenal game that you look back at and say, man, I was glad I was able to watch this and witness two great quarterbacks.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: Go at each other.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_00]: But if you can name the other game, Scott gave Lance a chance to answer first.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_00]: What game ended 54, 51, a few years ago, Lance?
- 57:01[SPEAKER_01]: The Lions game?
- 57:02[SPEAKER_02]: Nope.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_02]: There's the night ram's chiefs.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I thought you meant a bill's game.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_00]: Oh no, no, I don't, yeah, I know.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: You, I know you'd be.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_00]: 2018.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the, what was the, what was the line that was a 48.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_00]: 45?
- 57:20[SPEAKER_00]: No, you were right.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_00]: 54.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_02]: 51.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_00]: No, the line bills was going to like 48 45 or something like that.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that one, that one sounds right.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what was the highest one?
- 57:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_02]: I actually did pretty much that mean.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_02]: 48 42 40 42 close.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_02]: Fair.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_01]: How many?
- 57:46[SPEAKER_02]: 34 points in the, or no, yeah, 34 points scored in the fourth quarter.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: Alaw Broncos against the giants this season.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_01]: 3833 bills.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think like you guys said, going to have some points on the board here with these defenses.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think the bill's offense gets on track in the past game as well as the run game and can score more against a poorest defense and their defense will stand up a timer two to get the big stops when they need it.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 58:20[SPEAKER_01]: With that, that has been the triple coverage podcast on the built in Buffalo podcast network shout out to seven one six barbershop Lancaster indoor bounce house with Safari Adventure Arcade.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_01]: We will see you all.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_01]: with those those of you at the game on Sunday come by the big tree and we'll see you all next Thursday right here eight o'clock next week a couple of scheduling things last couple of weeks here so we're going to go a little bit later next week as well and we'll see you then go bills go bills go bills
