The Whistler - "Three Wise Guys" (1950)
The Whistler presents “Three Wise Guys,” originally broadcast December 24, 1950. Episode 447 is a rare, warmhearted Christmas departure from the series’ customary crime-and-fate tales, adapted by Kathleen Hite from a Damon Runyon short story.
On Christmas Eve, three small-time crooks leave a nearly empty Broadway bar and head toward Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, hoping to recover the proceeds of an old payroll robbery. Featuring John Brown, Marvin Miller, Bill Forman, and Jack Moyles, this colorful underworld holiday story unfolds in classic Runyon style.
