- 0:12You know one thing that infuriates me about the ABC here
- 0:16in Australia? ABC is the Australian
- 0:18Broadcasting Corporation, so it's a national broadcaster.
- 0:21We pay our tax. Money goes into funding this.
- 0:29Our national broadcaster and look I think it's been a good
- 0:31thing over the years obviously with the radio that goes all
- 0:34over the land, you know you can no matter where you go basically
- 0:37you can always at least get the ABC for news think it's been a
- 0:41good thing. However, the last couple of
- 0:43years, when the, you know, since they've turned into a lefty
- 0:47propaganda machine, have you noticed that they tend to just
- 0:51treat us, the the viewer, the Australian citizen like we just?
- 0:58Nafties like we're idiots. Like we've got no idea what
- 1:00we're talking about. Let let us educate you on how
- 1:03you should be living. Let us educate you on how you
- 1:06should be thinking we know best because we're the ABCI would
- 1:14just find them infuriating anyway.
- 1:16Look there's been a few things that have happened lately.
- 1:21I think it's it's called into question their the ethics, the
- 1:25ethical standards. I think the the moral standards
- 1:31flew out the door a long time ago.
- 1:33This story came up, came up last week, I think very, very
- 1:41interesting. And it's how they handled.
- 1:44I'll read this headline for you. It's from the Guardian.
- 1:48I'll bring it in so you can check out what I'm what I'm
- 1:51actually reading here. Headline ABC defends Four
- 1:59Corners crew who filmed planned protest at Woodside CEO's home.
- 2:05There she is. That's the Woodside CEO to do
- 2:10with the ABC has defended the actions of crew from Four
- 2:13Corners. If you don't know Four Corners
- 2:15is a program here in Australia. You know like a hard hitting
- 2:19news program. They do investigative in
- 2:21journalism, they planned. Who filmed a planned protest at
- 2:26the Western Australian home of Woodside CEO after the state's
- 2:29premier hit out at the public broadcaster, the Disrupt Barb
- 2:33Hub activists. These activists have been a pain
- 2:37in the butt for a long time now. You know, these are the kinds of
- 2:41people that go and glue themselves to the road just
- 2:44before peak hour and stop traffic anyway, so.
- 2:48These activists have been heavily criticized for targeting
- 2:51the home of Mega O'Neill on Tuesday, but reject suggestions
- 2:55they had been attempting to threaten the chief executive.
- 2:59They wouldn't threaten, they just make their laws very
- 3:02uncomfortable and make you feel like you are being threatened.
- 3:05But they don't actually threaten whatever the activists are
- 3:08protesting. Against the ongoing development
- 3:11of the Barrup Peninsula and Claimed Woodside has destroyed
- 3:15thousands of sacred rock art sites as part of the development
- 3:18of a large scale gas development known as the Barrup Hub.
- 3:24Now the ABC has also come under fire as it had a reporter and
- 3:29crew from the Four Corners program at the scene.
- 3:31As protesters arrived. Disrupt Barrup Hub has released
- 3:36images of the crew standing outside O'Neill's home.
- 3:39O'Neill said in a statement that the protest was designed to
- 3:42threaten me, my partner and their daughter in their home.
- 3:46Such as extremists, should be condemned by anyone who respects
- 3:49the law and beliefs. People should be safe to go
- 3:51about their business at home and at work, The premier, WA Premier
- 3:55Cook, he alleged. The ABC clearly had prior notice
- 3:59and understood that and understood these people were
- 4:01going to the CEO's house, her personal home, to take this
- 4:06action. So I'll be seeking answers.
- 4:09Contacting senior management to understand what it is they knew
- 4:12and why they didn't take action to inform the police.
- 4:17So an ABC spokesman defended the conduct of its reporter and
- 4:22crew. This is, this is where I say the
- 4:25ABC. Repeat the ABC.
- 4:29Treat the public, the general public like we're just idiots,
- 4:34you and I. We're fools.
- 4:35We've got we we are not intelligent enough to understand
- 4:38these. Highfalutin things are we?
- 4:41So this spokesman has said that a Four Corners team had attended
- 4:45the protest to gather material for a potential report later
- 4:49this year. They had received a tip to go to
- 4:52an address just prior, just prior to the action occurring,
- 4:58and had no knowledge of what was there, including that it was a
- 5:02person's house. I mean, really.
- 5:06Including that it was a person's house.
- 5:08They had no knowledge. They this person, this
- 5:11spokesperson's treating us like we're idiots.
- 5:15They had no knowledge. I'll tell you what, You type in
- 5:18an address, you get an address. Type it in your phone.
- 5:21You've got Apple Maps. The Apple one you type in the
- 5:24address, it'll come up with a little pin on the address.
- 5:29It also comes up with a a picture of the house.
- 5:34Even if it doesn't have a picture, it comes up and shows
- 5:36you the street, like a picture of the street and, you know, a
- 5:42formation of the houses in that street.
- 5:45I mean, you type it into Google Maps, the same thing it comes up
- 5:48with the picture, comes up with the Street View, and they
- 5:51they're trying to tell us they'd received a tip to go to an
- 5:54address, but they had no knowledge what was there,
- 5:57including that it was a person's house.
- 6:00They're treating us like we're flipping idiots.
- 6:02Can't stand them. When they arrived, the police
- 6:05were already in tenants in numbers.
- 6:08The ABC team remained on public land, observing what was
- 6:13happening and getting some vision, as journalists do.
- 6:16They at no time went on to private property or had
- 6:19involvement in what was happening.
- 6:22The ABC, the ABC team in no way colluded with the activists.
- 6:27OK, OK. OK.
- 6:30We're all just fools. We don't know what's going on.
- 6:32They didn't collude? No way.
- 6:34Environmental activists involved in the protests that they
- 6:37suspected this part's actually funny.
- 6:41They suspected W Australian police were using sophisticated
- 6:45surveillance techniques, including listening devices, to
- 6:49track their activities after the protest was thwarted by police.
- 6:54OK, I spent a little bit of time working.
- 6:57I think I've told everyone you know in the.
- 7:00The COVID surveillance world, just a few years.
- 7:04I tell you what, if you're if you if you're planning a protest
- 7:11and you know you're trying to keep it on the DL and you rock
- 7:15up at it, said protest address where you know obviously no
- 7:18people live there as the ABC would have You listen, think and
- 7:23the police are already there. Yeah, there's there's a good,
- 7:27there's a it's a good chance that they're actually, they're
- 7:30actually listening, listening in on your conversation somewhere.
- 7:35But As for this Australian police, West Australian police,
- 7:38using sophisticated, sophisticated surveillance
- 7:41techniques, I'll tell you what, it ain't that sophisticated
- 7:44these days. It's just commonplace.
- 7:48Hey, but you know protesters, if you ever need any tips.
- 7:54I can hook you up with some good advice.
- 7:57It'll cost you, but I what do you say?
- 8:00It is deeply troubling that a dozen WA Police officers were
- 8:03present ahead of number publicized peaceful climate
- 8:08protest. Are they spying on protesters?
- 8:11The spokesperson said. I hope they are spying on
- 8:14protesters cause I for one and sick and tired of these clowns
- 8:19coming, they go and throw paint on on paintings.
- 8:23They go and glue themselves to the road, you know, they glue
- 8:26themselves into canoes and then glue the glue the canoe to the
- 8:29road to the bridge like they're doing in Brisbane.
- 8:32It's time that we, I won't say that don't advocate violence,
- 8:37but heck, you know, when someone goes and glues themselves to the
- 8:41road, I think sometimes I think, well, maybe they just need to
- 8:44reap the consequences of their own stupidity.
- 8:48So. Goes on to say, well disruptive
- 8:51bar up Hub was prevented from carrying out a peaceful action
- 8:54today by heavy-handed preemptive policing.
- 8:57It was not a failure. Look the the rest of his
- 9:00garbage. My my main issue here is like I
- 9:02said, these activists just absolute they need to be stopped
- 9:07and good on Western Australian police and the ABC.
- 9:11Again, like I said, treating us like we're idiots because, you
- 9:15know, they received an address. Only just prior had no idea that
- 9:19it was actually a house where people would live.
- 9:22We thought it was just like a rabbit Sparrow, apparently.
- 9:27Let me know what you think. I think the ABC bunch of lefty
- 9:32nufties, they need to actually bring in some, you know, get a
- 9:36bit more, change their reporting a little more And so it's a
- 9:41little more diverse. Little more diversity.
- 9:45Maybe not have just all left wing, maybe have some people
- 9:48with opposing views and get away from treating the Australian
- 9:54public like we are adults. You can't see exactly what's
- 9:57going on, can't see through their lives.
- 10:00Let me know what you think. It's all my opinion.
- 10:03Thanks for listening to the slippery slope.
