- 0:58Speaker 2: your year is going well. How's years been, Buddy? Pretty good? Yeah?
- 1:05Speaker 4: It was good man. I got to see you the
- 1:07Speaker 4: other day. That was fun and your fun and your
- 1:11Speaker 4: I mean, we had a whole crew go to the
- 1:13Speaker 4: Timberwolves game.
- 1:14Speaker 2: That was fun. It was really fun. The next time,
- 1:18Speaker 2: if we have that many people there, we are going
- 1:20Speaker 2: to do like four or five people in one row
- 1:23Speaker 2: and ran four or five people in the row in
- 1:25Speaker 2: front because I didn't get to chat with you guys
- 1:28Speaker 2: at all.
- 1:29Speaker 4: I was like, oh, I'm glad I sat next to
- 1:30Speaker 4: you guys during dinner because I would not have seen
- 1:32Speaker 4: you otherwise. And then you know left right, which I
- 1:35Speaker 4: don't blame. Yeah, you're getting home, relieve the grandparents and
- 1:38Speaker 4: all that stuff, but like, you guys were gone and
- 1:41Speaker 4: it wasn't.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Even dude, you know, I was so pumped up after
- 1:46Speaker 2: that game. So we won. It was awesome with just
- 1:49Speaker 2: like seconds left. Yeah, it was super intense, and we'd
- 1:52Speaker 2: been down by twenty. Yeah, it was the biggest comeback
- 1:56Speaker 2: of the season for us, and you're down nineteen and
- 2:00Speaker 2: I could have ran through a brick wall. It was
- 2:02Speaker 2: so much fun. Dude. I was pumped up too. I
- 2:04Speaker 2: hear you. I hear yeah. I flew out of there
- 2:08Speaker 2: and then everybody likes, like, you gotta wait, you gotta
- 2:12Speaker 2: wait for them, because like I was bringing Brandon and
- 2:17Speaker 2: my sister. Yeah, right, no, right, it's okay fine. I
- 2:21Speaker 2: would have gotten into my car so fast.
- 2:24Speaker 4: So funny because I was still celebrating, and then I
- 2:28Speaker 4: turned to Last and I was.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Like, we did it.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Last was like, also, they're gone, just so Rand ran And.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Again I didn't blame me at all. I was just like,
- 2:38Speaker 2: all right, well seel so we were three rows from
- 2:43Speaker 2: being at the very very top of upper deck.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Yeah, so I was just like, there's gonna be honestly,
- 2:49Speaker 4: I mean not great, but like you can still.
- 2:51Speaker 2: See it are still fun. It was fine. Yeah, those
- 2:54Speaker 2: are the worst. Was the only way to do it, basically,
- 2:58Speaker 2: But dude, I was just like, there's gonna twenty thousand
- 3:00Speaker 2: people in front of me. I am running big. So
- 3:04Speaker 2: you did it? Yeah, you've gun folds out. That was fine.
- 3:06Speaker 2: I love it. It was cool.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Yeah, it was great. You know, the rest of the
- 3:12Speaker 4: world is kind of a nightmare. But yeah, what are
- 3:14Speaker 4: we're gonna talk about movies? I don't know what you
- 3:16Speaker 4: want from me.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we don't need to give it into my
- 3:18Speaker 2: hard right podcast if you want to hear what I
- 3:20Speaker 2: think about all that. But yeah, yeah that's you. That's
- 3:25Speaker 2: me for sure. Yeah we know you.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Have you been watching any movies recently, dude? Yes, I
- 3:31Speaker 4: watched a movie that I deeply, deeply loved. Have you
- 3:36Speaker 4: seen the movie Eternity yet or even heard of it?
- 3:39Speaker 2: I have seen it. Oh you watched it. I can't
- 3:42Speaker 2: wait to hear what you think.
- 3:43Speaker 4: But first I'm gonna tell you what I think, and
- 3:46Speaker 4: tell me I love this movie. A ton I thought
- 3:49Speaker 4: was it was so sweet and so much funnier than
- 3:52Speaker 4: I thought I was getting into. So just to catch
- 3:55Speaker 4: other folks up on the sort of the gist of it,
- 3:58Speaker 4: there is a.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Woman she played by Elizabeth Olsen, who is just a
- 4:02Speaker 2: dream come true. She's a delight she has.
- 4:06Speaker 4: She has a husband that she's lived with for a
- 4:08Speaker 4: long time and their their old Miles Teller.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Is that husband.
- 4:12Speaker 4: She had a previous husband who died in the war
- 4:14Speaker 4: when they were younger, that is Callum Turner. And the
- 4:18Speaker 4: story is when they all die, she gets to pick
- 4:22Speaker 4: her eternity and she has to choose between these two
- 4:25Speaker 4: loves of her life. Basically, and chaos and hilarity you know,
- 4:30Speaker 4: goes from there, right, it ensues from there.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I think it's the right phrase. But I thought this
- 4:35Speaker 2: movie was so funny.
- 4:37Speaker 4: It was a really like lovely fresh take on this
- 4:40Speaker 4: sort of a like a defending our life kind of thing.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Oh god, you.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw it way back in the day, don't.
- 4:49Speaker 4: I haven't seen it for years and years, But.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I thought that we talked about that and you hadn't
- 4:53Speaker 2: seen it. I loved that movie back in the day,
- 4:55Speaker 2: Defending your Life.
- 4:56Speaker 4: I think my dad really liked it, or my mom.
- 4:59Speaker 4: I remember watching it when we were little. But yeah,
- 5:02Speaker 4: maybe I never saw the thing the whole way through
- 5:04Speaker 4: or something, but.
- 5:07Speaker 2: That's what I thought too. Right away. I was like,
- 5:08Speaker 2: this is very defending your life.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it's very similar vibe, right, And probably they
- 5:13Speaker 4: took from that because it's a pretty that's a fairly
- 5:16Speaker 4: famous film, I think, especially amongst the film buffs. But
- 5:21Speaker 4: I just really liked this man. I thought it was
- 5:22Speaker 4: really funny and very sweet. I cried a number of times.
- 5:26Speaker 4: It's a great, great film. I don't know if it's
- 5:29Speaker 4: going to get nominated for anything. It probably won't, but
- 5:32Speaker 4: I really really liked this movie a lot.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it felt like it was too light hearted and
- 5:37Speaker 2: humorous for it stud which sucks that that Again. I
- 5:43Speaker 2: thought Miles Teller as like an old man was perfect.
- 5:47Speaker 2: It just seemed like a grumpy old dude. I never
- 5:50Speaker 2: knew that he was made to put it all joint din.
- 5:53Speaker 2: That was incredible.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Elizabeth Olsen too, like, yeah, as just kind of a
- 5:58Speaker 4: kooky old lady, but in a young woman its body.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And I saw a lot of her from that show
- 6:04Speaker 2: where she was playing like a fifties housewife, the Marvel
- 6:09Speaker 2: Show WandaVision. Oh yeah, I didn't think about that, but yeah,
- 6:14Speaker 2: you're right. Her giggle was just so sweet in this.
- 6:17Speaker 4: And also I didn't say but divine what last?
- 6:21Speaker 2: I was just gonna say divine Joy Randolph and then
- 6:24Speaker 2: John Early there like counterparts though those two made the
- 6:29Speaker 2: movie for they were cracking me up so much. Yeah,
- 6:32Speaker 2: I really liked it.
- 6:33Speaker 4: What did you think of it?
- 6:35Speaker 2: Yeah? I liked it a lot. Yeah, really fun, for sure,
- 6:38Speaker 2: I was. I was super into it. I love it.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Yeah, so go check it out. I think I had
- 6:43Speaker 4: to rent that one or did I go?
- 6:45Speaker 2: Remember what the hell I did? But yeah, you probably
- 6:47Speaker 2: rented it. Find it. I think it's fine.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Nothing else, but yeah, check it out. How about you, Bud,
- 6:54Speaker 4: what's the most recent movie?
- 6:55Speaker 2: You whitch? It's not the most recent movie because I
- 6:58Speaker 2: just came back from the theater today, but I'm going
- 7:02Speaker 2: to talk about My sister really wanted to see The
- 7:04Speaker 2: Housemaid Think. So I had told her that I had
- 7:09Speaker 2: bought the book and I wanted to read that first,
- 7:11Speaker 2: and she was like, well, get going because I want
- 7:13Speaker 2: to see it, and so she said it was a
- 7:16Speaker 2: super fast read. She was right. I ended up reading
- 7:19Speaker 2: it in a day, which I can't remember the last
- 7:23Speaker 2: time I've done that. So that was really fun. But
- 7:27Speaker 2: her and I and my dad we all went to
- 7:30Speaker 2: the theater to see it and it was It was
- 7:34Speaker 2: quite the ride. Man really really well cast with Amanda Seyfried,
- 7:39Speaker 2: Sydney Sweeney, and then Brandon Sclenar from the movie Drop.
- 7:44Speaker 2: That's how I know him. So he was like the
- 7:46Speaker 2: love interest in the movie.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right, Yeah, I remember.
- 7:52Speaker 2: From the Bunk. Yeah. It's a wild movie. It's about
- 7:56Speaker 2: a woman who's been in prison and is now looking
- 7:59Speaker 2: for a job, having a really hard time finding a job,
- 8:03Speaker 2: but then she's able to get this job as a housemaid. Cool,
- 8:06Speaker 2: and she thinks it's a dream job, but the lady
- 8:11Speaker 2: she's working for is crazy. Tons of twists and turns.
- 8:15Speaker 2: It closely followed the book, aside from a few things.
- 8:20Speaker 2: For whatever reason, the landscaper is a much bigger deal
- 8:23Speaker 2: in the book than in the movie. So if you
- 8:27Speaker 2: really liked that landscaper character in the book not in
- 8:32Speaker 2: the movie very much, just take a break. Just take
- 8:35Speaker 2: a break. But dude, overall a really fun time. I
- 8:39Speaker 2: heard that they've already signed up for a sequel because
- 8:41Speaker 2: it did so well, Like it was like thirty million
- 8:44Speaker 2: dollars to make and it made like one hundred and fifty,
- 8:47Speaker 2: So dude, that's awesome. But it's this Freda McFadden author,
- 8:51Speaker 2: and she's written a ton of them, so I mean,
- 8:54Speaker 2: we might be getting it for a while.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I kind of read it.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I kind of want to read this one. I'm with you.
- 8:59Speaker 2: That sounds fun. It's you know, it's just kind of
- 9:01Speaker 2: a popcorn mystery thriller, perfect book. I didn't love the
- 9:07Speaker 2: way she writes, but the plot is.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Nuts, okay, cool, Yeah, might be a good one for
- 9:12Speaker 4: a plane ride or something that'd be fun.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, right, but I would check it out.
- 9:16Speaker 2: It was, It was fun. It was.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Did you say who directed it? Did I miss you
- 9:21Speaker 4: saying that.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Directed? Forgot that because it's not that funny?
- 9:27Speaker 4: Well, he's so funny funny, but that's cool. I mean
- 9:31Speaker 4: I think he's directed it a few things over the days.
- 9:33Speaker 4: But yeah, interesting, well cool man, I can't wait to
- 9:37Speaker 4: check that one out.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Check it out.
- 9:39Speaker 4: What have you been streaming on the Netflix machine? I streamed.
- 9:43Speaker 4: The first movie of.
- 9:45Speaker 2: What is now has a sequel.
- 9:46Speaker 4: But I watched The Bad Guys the other day and
- 9:51Speaker 4: I loved it.
- 9:52Speaker 2: It was on Netflix now it's on Netflix. It was
- 9:55Speaker 2: so fun.
- 9:56Speaker 4: I think you said, oh, you're going to really like that,
- 9:58Speaker 4: and you were right. Will Sam Rockwell, Mark Marin Aquafina,
- 10:03Speaker 4: Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, I mean Sazy beats Richard a Yoide.
- 10:10Speaker 4: I probably said that wrong, Alex bourns Borstein, isn't it.
- 10:13Speaker 4: There's a ton of people you'll recognize in it. Yeah,
- 10:16Speaker 4: really fun movie about some like cartoonish bad guys. As
- 10:20Speaker 4: as we find out from the title that are you know,
- 10:25Speaker 4: turning over a new Lea or are.
- 10:27Speaker 2: They question Mark?
- 10:29Speaker 4: But I just thought it was really fun, and we'll
- 10:31Speaker 4: put together it's because they're bad guys. They're like thing
- 10:34Speaker 4: is is pulling off heists, so you get like a
- 10:37Speaker 4: cartoon heist movie, and I love a heist.
- 10:39Speaker 2: So I had a great It was really fun.
- 10:42Speaker 4: I can't wait to watch the second one.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Now. I feel like, why not, it's going to be
- 10:45Speaker 2: a rump. Yeah, that's like a kid's book series as well,
- 10:50Speaker 2: so they could keep making cool. I didn't know that.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yeah nice. Yeah, did you like this.
- 10:55Speaker 4: When you saw I mean, I know you said loved it.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I saw it in the theater, thought it was so
- 10:59Speaker 2: much fun. And we actually just watched it the other day,
- 11:02Speaker 2: like since the New Year. For sure. That's great on
- 11:05Speaker 2: a family movie night, so we're we're into it.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Just a cute, fun movie that's really interesting.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I liked it so nice. What have you been streaming?
- 11:14Speaker 2: I took your recommendation.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Oh my god, look at us swapping wrecks on.
- 11:20Speaker 2: And I rented the movie Twinless, dude. I thought it
- 11:25Speaker 2: was amazing. Wasn't it so good? I now I had
- 11:30Speaker 2: recognized the main guy, Dylan O'Brien, but I haven't watched
- 11:33Speaker 2: any of the things he's done. He's he's done a
- 11:36Speaker 2: lot he's done. It's crazy. I didn't watch that whole seat.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Wasn't it amazing? Which I liked.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Yeah, he's got a new one coming out with.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Are you okay? What just happened to you? Rachel McAdams,
- 11:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I saw that trailer. It took me a second.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I was gonna call the ambulance. I didn't know what
- 11:59Speaker 2: was happening.
- 11:59Speaker 4: I'm dead.
- 12:04Speaker 2: This is the EXUS Cords from the Grave. But yeah,
- 12:10Speaker 2: so I was extremely impressed with him as an actor.
- 12:14Speaker 2: You had brought this up, but he plays an identical
- 12:16Speaker 2: twin whose brother has passed away, and it focuses out
- 12:19Speaker 2: on how he's dealing with that. Written and directed and
- 12:23Speaker 2: starring a dude named James Sweeney, who I was not
- 12:26Speaker 2: familiar with. Same, but I was so into his writing.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I loved it. Yeah, I absolutely loved it. It would
- 12:35Speaker 2: have made my list for favorite films of twenty twenty
- 12:37Speaker 2: five had I watched it before we did our episode.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't put that on there, did I.
- 12:42Speaker 2: That's a mistaken.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Yeah, that was where I heard about it.
- 12:48Speaker 2: It was a great recommendation, and you can currently rent
- 12:52Speaker 2: it on Prime or Apple TV Plus and I just
- 12:55Speaker 2: highly recommend it. It's very It just.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Makes you think, and it interesting such an interesting It
- 13:01Speaker 4: was really funny, but also like, yeah, just a lot
- 13:06Speaker 4: of going but also like kind of a mystery in
- 13:09Speaker 4: some ways is what like, It's it's interesting for sure.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, I loved it. Cool. I'm glad you liked
- 13:14Speaker 2: it's fun.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, what do you think should do if you
- 13:17Speaker 4: plug runs?
- 13:18Speaker 2: Lots?
- 13:19Speaker 4: You guys give us this slays on the Twitter machine

- 13:46Speaker 2: for Marsha Griziak, Mary Fox, Nanette Walkley, Eohembro, Staid, deb Oak,
- 13:52Speaker 2: Noel Flores, and newcomer Lorraine Loud. Lorraine. We were supposed
- 14:00Speaker 2: to talk about her in the last couple episodes, so
- 14:03Speaker 2: apologize to you. And also she is responsible for letting
- 14:08Speaker 2: us know our whole like last Man Stanton List, like
- 14:11Speaker 2: she broke down every single one that we've done's name.
- 14:15Speaker 4: For one minute, I can hear an audio clip in
- 14:18Speaker 4: my brain of mel Gibson screaming Lorraine.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Do you know what that's from? Lorraine? Lorraine? I have
- 14:26Speaker 2: no idea. Is that like Leatha weapon yeah, but I
- 14:28Speaker 2: don't know named Lorraine.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Maybe he's just talking about the rain, but partially in French.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Maybe interesting. I have no idea, Lorraine.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Yeah, let me just see if it immediately pops up.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Does this make up for us forgetting?
- 14:44Speaker 5: No?
- 14:46Speaker 2: No, it's okay. Things happen.
- 14:49Speaker 4: Boy, I'm not kidding. My entire page on Google is
- 14:55Speaker 4: alleged racist rant. So maybe he said it during one.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Of his phone calls. I feel bad about this and
- 15:03Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. My gosh, it wasn't my intent. Whoopses
- 15:08Speaker 2: rop back to you, Thanks for being a patron. Another
- 15:12Speaker 2: perk that we like to give our patrons. As an
- 15:16Speaker 2: extended version of every episode that we put out, will
- 15:19Speaker 2: you usually do a top five draft that pertains to
- 15:21Speaker 2: the movie we're talking about, And for this one, I
- 15:25Speaker 2: thought it was going to be really easy, because I
- 15:27Speaker 2: came up with like five or ten off the dome
- 15:30Speaker 2: really fast, and then couldn't find anything after that but
- 15:33Speaker 2: top five favorite getting pulled over scenes in movies.
- 15:40Speaker 4: It was tough. It was tough. I got there, and
- 15:43Speaker 4: I feel like this just makes sense to say it.
- 15:45Speaker 4: I'm going to say it because of what just happened.
- 15:46Speaker 4: I feel like a Horse's patoo right now?
- 15:49Speaker 2: Yeah, nice, love it, love it good usage. This will
- 15:54Speaker 2: be fun though. I'm excited for this because there's some
- 15:56Speaker 2: real bangers in that draft, so there are some fun ones. Yeah,
- 15:59Speaker 2: should come check it out for surely, for surely, Oh,
- 16:02Speaker 2: I do the next part.
- 16:04Speaker 4: But we're here today to talk about a great film
- 16:07Speaker 4: where people don't say the wrong thing more than six
- 16:10Speaker 4: times an episode. But we're here to talk about Black
- 16:12Speaker 4: Sheep from nineteen hundred and ninety six. It's a timeless classic.
- 16:19Speaker 4: I think we can all agree. We had to get
- 16:21Speaker 4: a guy who loves this movie as much as we
- 16:23Speaker 4: do on and he's just old enough. I think he
- 16:26Speaker 4: was forty five when it came out. So let's give
- 16:28Speaker 4: it up for Brandon Miller.
- 16:32Speaker 3: What's up Brandon? Hey, guys, how you doing feel a
- 16:37Speaker 3: little old today?
- 16:38Speaker 2: So yeah, no, stop it. You look great more than
- 16:42Speaker 2: a little. No. Oh, I'm just kidding. This is a
- 16:46Speaker 2: running joke with bugs. He likes to say that Brandon's old.
- 16:49Speaker 4: I don't have a lot of running jokes, just jokes
- 16:52Speaker 4: that go on for a while.
- 16:53Speaker 3: He's definitely not a runner.
- 16:56Speaker 2: No, No, I haven't read Yeah, ran you.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Have usually towards a pizza is what I was gonna say.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Nice, But I guess we're making personal attacks today.
- 17:09Speaker 2: So here we are confrontation. We're so pumped to have
- 17:16Speaker 2: your pal.
- 17:17Speaker 3: We really are glad to be back for another Chris
- 17:21Speaker 3: Farley movie.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I love it, dude. Hell yeah, contractually obligated to get you,
- 17:25Speaker 2: so we're lucky it worked out. Yep.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I didn't know there was a contract. I need to
- 17:30Speaker 3: take a look at that. But don't worry about it.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Don't read the fine print. Don't sexual favors mandatory.
- 17:41Speaker 2: I didn't say who was involved. Oh, it could be
- 17:44Speaker 2: a fun thing. Maybe it'll be fun. It's you know, no,
- 17:48Speaker 2: I don't. Yeah, let's get away from this.
- 17:51Speaker 3: We really took a turn right away, reeled good. Lord.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Well, you know sometimes things that our sequels aren't as good,
- 18:04Speaker 4: and this might not be as good as Tommy Boy.
- 18:05Speaker 4: But let's talk about Black Sheep.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Guys. Started with just a rough SYNOPSI sure Mike has
- 18:14Speaker 2: a terrible habit of showing up at the wrong time
- 18:17Speaker 2: and embarrassing his brother al who happens to be running
- 18:20Speaker 2: for governor. Hoping to save his campaign, Alice signs his
- 18:24Speaker 2: aide Steve, to make to take Mike to a remote
- 18:27Speaker 2: cabin and hide out there for the reminder of the campaign.
- 18:31Speaker 2: In woods, the two men discover dangers that make them
- 18:35Speaker 2: long for the sleazy political operatives back in the big city.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Oh okay, that's a fairly generous description of what goes
- 18:44Speaker 3: on up in that camp.
- 18:45Speaker 4: I guess that's more plot than is in there, actually,
- 18:49Speaker 4: I think really.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I had to.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Mute during that because Rob's kind of started out in
- 18:55Speaker 3: the Chris Farley voice and I just came I was.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Trying it like that.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Let's hear what rotten tomatos I have to say, and
- 19:04Speaker 4: buckle up, gang, because said this is coming in and
- 19:07Speaker 4: a pretty solid twenty nine percent, not our worst, not
- 19:11Speaker 4: not our worst, but audience members rocket above that up
- 19:15Speaker 4: to seventy percent. Okay, that might be our forty widest margin.
- 19:20Speaker 2: You know, you know, I don't know this, but it's
- 19:23Speaker 2: a wide margin.
- 19:24Speaker 4: I felt bad asking.
- 19:25Speaker 2: It, yeah, when I did it, because I also don't know,
- 19:28Speaker 2: and frankly, I am not that interested in that. Yeah, no,
- 19:31Speaker 2: I won't look that up.
- 19:32Speaker 6: Ever.
- 19:32Speaker 2: This is my fault. But let's find out what we think.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Let's hear our.
- 19:37Speaker 4: Hot takes ouch Spicee.
- 19:40Speaker 2: That's a hot take. That's a hot take. Oh, the
- 19:44Speaker 2: rec center's on fire. Ouch, they're putting it out. Oh,
- 19:49Speaker 2: he just stopped.
- 19:50Speaker 4: He throws a trash can on it.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Trash can. That's that's that's very useful. Yeah, I love it.
- 19:56Speaker 2: I love it.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Good job, rap good. I can go first with this one.
- 20:01Speaker 4: I really really like this movie. I understand that it
- 20:04Speaker 4: is the at least spiritual successor to Tommy Boy. A
- 20:08Speaker 4: lot of people, critics especially, don't like it. I've always
- 20:12Speaker 4: really enjoyed it. I think it's still super fun and
- 20:16Speaker 4: even on the rewatch, I had a great time.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Is there a ton of plot going on?
- 20:20Speaker 4: Not really. It's more of a political thriller than I remembered,
- 20:24Speaker 4: to be honest, Like I remembered a lot of scenes
- 20:28Speaker 4: in the cabin, but not a lot of the stuff
- 20:30Speaker 4: that went around it. Still, some of the funniest lines
- 20:33Speaker 4: that happen, a few of the set pieces.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Are really really funny.
- 20:37Speaker 4: I like to think of this as I came up
- 20:39Speaker 4: with a couple taglines, Tommy, which one you think is best?
- 20:41Speaker 4: Tommy Boy two Back and Dumber than Ever is maybe
- 20:45Speaker 4: a good one. Tommy Boy too, Now with more paint chips,
- 20:49Speaker 4: ingested love that something. I had a really hard time
- 20:55Speaker 4: on this rewatch remembering what their names were because I
- 20:59Speaker 4: just can as Tommy and Richard.
- 21:02Speaker 2: You know, it's like, I don't, Mike can't. I would
- 21:05Speaker 2: have never remembered their names. No, Mike and Steve, like
- 21:10Speaker 2: and they're the most generic names. Maybe I think I
- 21:13Speaker 2: think I could have gotten that because they say it
- 21:15Speaker 2: someone did get al recently.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Didn't you ask a question about it or something?
- 21:19Speaker 2: Or it came out that's about it. I don't remember
- 21:22Speaker 2: that anyway. Agreed, agreed, But I still really enjoyed this movie.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I know it's dumb. I don't care.
- 21:30Speaker 4: I had just a great time rewatching it. You know,
- 21:34Speaker 4: he's even dumber in this one, which is really funny,
- 21:37Speaker 4: but I still really like it. He gets to show
- 21:39Speaker 4: off that he's athletic and all that.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I don't know. I just love the guy. So I
- 21:42Speaker 2: had a great time, and we'll continue to.
- 21:45Speaker 4: But my hottest takes probably not that hot, but it
- 21:49Speaker 4: did catch me off guard, and it was what kind
- 21:52Speaker 4: of a kid like either gets or steals a beer
- 21:56Speaker 4: from a convenience store and then immediately goes not ten
- 22:00Speaker 4: feet away and drinks it in a hollowtel Car next,
- 22:04Speaker 4: who said amazing, and that seems like a bad play.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Like a random dude come by and just take it
- 22:10Speaker 3: from him, just take him on as he's like drinking.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Smoking dude. I would let Chris Friley do that for sure.
- 22:18Speaker 4: That's well yeah, but maybe not when you you know,
- 22:21Speaker 4: beer was hard to come by at that point.
- 22:23Speaker 2: It's true, but if you're going to.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Steal or you know, illicitly purchase a beer, maybe he'd
- 22:30Speaker 4: drink it outside of eyeshot of.
- 22:32Speaker 2: The man selling it to you.
- 22:35Speaker 7: That's a hot take, brose hot. I don't know here,
- 22:38Speaker 7: we are so nicely done. A lot to think about
- 22:41Speaker 7: it really is, has a lot to think about here,
- 22:44Speaker 7: thank you. Uh yeah, I have pretty much the exact
- 22:48Speaker 7: same opening as you.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Not as good as Tommy Boy, but Tommy Boy is
- 22:55Speaker 2: one of my favorite comedies of all time, so it
- 22:58Speaker 2: was never going to reach that, you know, just a
- 23:01Speaker 2: it's not fair, but yeah. It's directed by Penelope Sphearus,
- 23:08Speaker 2: who is big in the late eighties early nineties, giving
- 23:10Speaker 2: us the Beverly Hillbillies movie, the Little Rascals movie, and
- 23:15Speaker 2: one of my favorite comedies of all time, Wayne's World.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Oh nice, So She's pretty great. Written by Fred Wolf,
- 23:24Speaker 2: who'd go on to do dirty work the Joe Dirt
- 23:27Speaker 2: movies and.
- 23:27Speaker 4: The grown up films, makes so much sense. Pretty funny
- 23:32Speaker 4: ish guy.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yeah, the formula of having Farley and Spade works, although
- 23:37Speaker 2: I felt like they didn't let them get as close
- 23:39Speaker 2: as they do in Tommy Boy. Felt a little more
- 23:42Speaker 2: surface level. It's funny how they use some of the
- 23:46Speaker 2: same sticks from Tommy Boy, Like instead of having a
- 23:50Speaker 2: car that keeps getting destroyed, they just have the cabin
- 23:53Speaker 2: that keeps taking a beating and that works. Those are
- 23:57Speaker 2: my favorite parts of the movie for the most part. Yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 2: they also stole from The Great Outdoors with the bat scene.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Then shortly after they had a raccoon scene and I
- 24:09Speaker 2: was like, what is this, guys, what are we doing?
- 24:11Speaker 2: I thought the same thing. But yeah, my hottest take.
- 24:16Speaker 2: I never really gave this one as much of a chance,
- 24:20Speaker 2: but when I rewatched it this week, I laughed way
- 24:23Speaker 2: more than I thought I would, and I forgot some
- 24:27Speaker 2: scenes that made me laugh really hard. So yeah, still
- 24:31Speaker 2: a really funny movie, and it was. It was a
- 24:33Speaker 2: pleasant rewatch, and just I missed Chris Farley so much.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I'll always say that I love him, so that should
- 24:40Speaker 2: be the universal hot take. Yeah, nice, yeah, hot take pal.
- 24:44Speaker 3: I was gonna say, speaking of the grown ups movies,
- 24:47Speaker 3: they would have been so much better with.
- 24:48Speaker 4: Him in it, right, Oh my god, so many movies
- 24:52Speaker 4: would have been better.
- 24:53Speaker 2: He would have done some weird like like he would
- 24:56Speaker 2: have won an oscar for something by knocking out of
- 24:59Speaker 2: the park, you know what I mean. Yes, he would
- 25:02Speaker 2: have shocked us somehow. Yeah, yeah, I love that. What
- 25:06Speaker 2: do you got brand now?
- 25:07Speaker 3: I mean, not a ton more to add there. It
- 25:10Speaker 3: is really close formula that it's almost like the they
- 25:15Speaker 3: hit the fast forward button on something with the same
- 25:18Speaker 3: two guys because they caught lightning in a bottle once
- 25:21Speaker 3: and this one wasn't I mean, obviously not Tommy Boy,
- 25:24Speaker 3: but still on its own, very funny like it's the
- 25:29Speaker 3: same guy of like the snarky, sarcastic little pip squeak
- 25:33Speaker 3: guy and the big dumb animal who can't get out
- 25:35Speaker 3: of his own way, and a lot more in this
- 25:39Speaker 3: than Tommy Boy, I think, where he just keeps screwing
- 25:41Speaker 3: up everything, right, but uh, and then I didn't remember
- 25:48Speaker 3: how much more farly physical comedy there was in this one,
- 25:52Speaker 3: so much. It was just like a bit after bit
- 25:54Speaker 3: in this one where almost to the point where it's like, okay,
- 25:57Speaker 3: he's going to go fall on something again, but he
- 26:00Speaker 3: was really they were really leaning into that for this
- 26:02Speaker 3: and it was still funny, but it was just like
- 26:04Speaker 3: I don't remember him flying around as much as Tommy
- 26:07Speaker 3: Boy and he does in this one. But but yeah,
- 26:10Speaker 3: still still like it's on my it's on my top
- 26:15Speaker 3: list of Farley films, even though it's for sure obviously
- 26:19Speaker 3: Tommy Boy and then there's a drop off, but still
- 26:21Speaker 3: it's like it's not like he mailed it in and
- 26:23Speaker 3: we were watching it thirty years later going well that sucked,
- 26:26Speaker 3: Like we still liked it.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Yeah, still funny.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Idea isn't one of those that you watched later on
- 26:32Speaker 3: and you're like, wow, why did I like that? But
- 26:35Speaker 3: so totally.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I who, Well, let's go talk about our favorite acting performance.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Shall we name the dude the dude?
- 26:47Speaker 5: I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
- 26:50Speaker 5: know that, or his dudeenus or duder or you know,
- 26:56Speaker 5: el dud reno. If you're not into the whole brevity thing,
- 27:00Speaker 5: you want to.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Go first, come on, come on, this is an easy one.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Come on, yeah, we just we just spent five minutes
- 27:09Speaker 3: praising the guy in the hot take sessions.
- 27:12Speaker 2: It's true.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Yeah, it's head and shoulders above everyone else that you
- 27:18Speaker 3: could possibly say it for. And I feel like anybody
- 27:20Speaker 3: who was in this movie would agree.
- 27:22Speaker 2: So yeah, he's just so versatile. The fact that he
- 27:27Speaker 2: can have you laughing your ass off and then he
- 27:31Speaker 2: can just get his eyes all teary while putting on
- 27:34Speaker 2: some bunny ears like the best. This guy can do
- 27:38Speaker 2: it all. I love him so much. I missed him,
- 27:41Speaker 2: and yes he's my dude, always and.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Forever, agreed, clean sweep. I really liked in this one
- 27:49Speaker 4: that he worked with kids in this one too, because
- 27:53Speaker 4: that feels very true to probably what Chris Farley was like,
- 27:56Speaker 4: at least in my brain. I bet he was great
- 27:58Speaker 4: with kids because he didn't feel like he had to,
- 28:01Speaker 4: you know, pretend to.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Be smarter what you know, like whatever in his life.
- 28:05Speaker 2: But I bet he was awesome with him and that
- 28:07Speaker 2: was just kind of fun to see. I bet he
- 28:09Speaker 2: had a great time.
- 28:10Speaker 4: All I could think during those football scenes was like,
- 28:12Speaker 4: how fun to just go play football. He was probably
- 28:16Speaker 4: in his mid twenties, right, so he doesn't have to
- 28:18Speaker 4: worry like we do about you knowing a Nichilles or something.
- 28:23Speaker 4: You know, let's just go out there and have a
- 28:25Speaker 4: good time or what he needs to do. Well, yeah,
- 28:29Speaker 4: that's true, that is true. But yeah, I just thought
- 28:33Speaker 4: that was super fun to see him in that element.
- 28:37Speaker 4: But you're right, it was like several scenes where they
- 28:39Speaker 4: were just like, we're not exactly sure what should happen.
- 28:42Speaker 4: Let's just let Chris cook, like, let him go out there.
- 28:44Speaker 2: And do some stuff. Get your thumbs in the trunk.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Get your tie this time, you know what needs to happen.
- 28:52Speaker 3: But yeah, it's.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Definitely him for me. I'm with you. Well, let's talk
- 28:56Speaker 2: about this morning cast. Let's choose the too, Jlla, what
- 29:02Speaker 2: do you got for this one?
- 29:03Speaker 3: Brandon? I went with Gary Busey.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Oh my god, so did I.
- 29:09Speaker 3: I just love he just I mean, he's obviously got
- 29:12Speaker 3: a great overall look and demeanor to play the crazy
- 29:16Speaker 3: guy living on his own in the woods, even even
- 29:19Speaker 3: years ago. Now probably even more because if you've seen
- 29:22Speaker 3: it some of his stuff lately. But but yeah, I went.
- 29:25Speaker 3: I went with Beaucy with the crazy crazy ex bet
- 29:30Speaker 3: in the in the woods with the land mines and
- 29:33Speaker 3: everything else.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Dude, perfectly cast. I would percent agree, And I love
- 29:39Speaker 2: that he doesn't care that Farley has infiltrated his home
- 29:43Speaker 2: because he liked how he attacked him, Like he just
- 29:46Speaker 2: respected how he took him down. Come on, let's watch. Yeah,
- 29:56Speaker 2: it's just the best.
- 29:57Speaker 3: I love.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a fun bit. I was in to it,
- 30:00Speaker 2: so I'm with you, and my runner up just would
- 30:03Speaker 2: have been David Spade felt like he really didn't get
- 30:08Speaker 2: to do as much as he did and Tom and.
- 30:09Speaker 4: I agree, Yeah, he didn't have a whole lot going
- 30:13Speaker 4: on in this one.
- 30:13Speaker 2: It felt like, no, they gave him. They gave him
- 30:16Speaker 2: that scene with like the Opie convention and getting robbed
- 30:20Speaker 2: the fire extinguisher, but that was kind of his only
- 30:25Speaker 2: like one scene by himself. Yeah.
- 30:27Speaker 3: I actually I don't know if you have this for
- 30:30Speaker 3: the fun facts later, but I actually read that him
- 30:33Speaker 3: and the director didn't get along well and that may
- 30:36Speaker 3: have had something to do with it. They just didn't
- 30:40Speaker 3: give him as many times to shine or anything like that,
- 30:44Speaker 3: which was kind of interesting interesting to read, like you
- 30:47Speaker 3: get you get a project with these two guys that
- 30:50Speaker 3: just knocked it out of the park like a year earlier,
- 30:52Speaker 3: and you can't set that aside or something. I don't know.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Yeah, weird, huh interesting, Yeah, when do you have big?
- 31:04Speaker 2: So I think I would have.
- 31:06Speaker 4: To go with Tim Matheson if I'm not saying either
- 31:09Speaker 4: Sure or any of those folks yet. Guy, I just
- 31:13Speaker 4: think he's really charming in this and and it's more
- 31:17Speaker 4: of a character arc than I would have guessed, honestly
- 31:20Speaker 4: or not an arc. But like, he does kind of
- 31:23Speaker 4: turn on his brother a little bit, he gets like
- 31:25Speaker 4: blinded by the possibility of power, but then totally comes
- 31:28Speaker 4: back right away.
- 31:29Speaker 2: So that's just nice to see him still support his
- 31:32Speaker 2: brother and all that. But well, it's impressive that he
- 31:35Speaker 2: was still able to support him a.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Character he did put up with a ton before he
- 31:41Speaker 3: finally snapped a little bit.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's fair. That's fair because it did feel
- 31:46Speaker 2: like he was going out of his way. He was
- 31:50Speaker 2: like a puppy dog.
- 31:50Speaker 4: He was trying to help, so he just wanted to
- 31:53Speaker 4: love him. But yeah, I thought he did a good
- 31:56Speaker 4: job though. It was very believable as like a politician,
- 32:00Speaker 4: you know. Yeah, I'm glad to meet you.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that's funny because that was kind of his character
- 32:08Speaker 2: in Animal House and then they had they had Bruce
- 32:11Speaker 2: McGill in there too, who is also an animal house,
- 32:13Speaker 2: so that was kind of fun.
- 32:14Speaker 4: And of course he played a politician in West Wing later,
- 32:18Speaker 4: you know that, so sure, yeah, the other people agreed,
- 32:22Speaker 4: so that's kind of fun.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I really I really like Bruce McGill, even though
- 32:25Speaker 2: he didn't he didn't get to do a ton in this.
- 32:28Speaker 2: He was just I agree Christine Ever saw his like
- 32:31Speaker 2: right hand man. She didn't do a ton for me
- 32:33Speaker 2: in this. I mean she was unlikable, but definitely unlikable.
- 32:37Speaker 2: I think if that if the roles were like if
- 32:40Speaker 2: this was made now, she would have been way funnier
- 32:42Speaker 2: and crazier rather than unlikable. Maybe, but yeah, I don't know.
- 32:46Speaker 2: She was okay, you know, I don't blame.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Ok there was anything much there for yeah, and everyone
- 32:55Speaker 4: else was just kind of like there. Yeah, not bad
- 32:58Speaker 4: by any means.
- 32:59Speaker 2: But right, I don't know. It was fun seeing his
- 33:01Speaker 2: real life bros as a security guard. That was great.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I did love that. Yeah, he threw them a bone,
- 33:07Speaker 2: which was fun because one of them is actually trying
- 33:10Speaker 2: to do like stand up comedy and oh really Yeah.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Kevin Farley right, maybe he's been over the years.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, one of them is in a commercial and
- 33:24Speaker 2: national commercial right now too. I don't remember for what,
- 33:28Speaker 2: but it's one of a seconds. Was that one of them?
- 33:31Speaker 2: Also like in that god what was that called?
- 33:36Speaker 4: That MTV movie about the boy band that was like.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Kind of a farce, yes, where it had I know
- 33:44Speaker 2: my calculus, yeah and us Yes, I want the news,
- 33:49Speaker 2: not the weather and all that stuff. Yeah, one of
- 33:52Speaker 2: them was in that. I can't remember which one. Yeah, John,
- 33:54Speaker 2: you're right anyway, it doesn't matter. But good Times that
- 33:59Speaker 2: was a silly show. It was a movie or what
- 34:01Speaker 2: was was the movie or a show? I don't even remember.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I think it was a show. And I can't remember
- 34:07Speaker 2: what the name of the group was either now, but
- 34:10Speaker 2: but it was funny. Yeah.
- 34:11Speaker 4: I keep conflating it with the South Park one where
- 34:13Speaker 4: they're faith plus one.
- 34:14Speaker 2: I remember that if you ever watched that, they make
- 34:17Speaker 2: a boy band. But anyway, I don't know. That was
- 34:21Speaker 2: all I had though for the the Tuch anybody else
- 34:25Speaker 2: have anything they want to say for supporting rules, I.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Think we kind of touched all the ones with lines.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Yeah, well there was the kid I felt like the
- 34:37Speaker 2: kid that they got. Yeah, it seemed so random because
- 34:43Speaker 2: like it's like, Okay, I'm gonna be with this kid,
- 34:46Speaker 2: but then I have to go do this thing, so
- 34:48Speaker 2: I can't meet with him for you know, to practice
- 34:52Speaker 2: like I thought. And I was just like, that's just
- 34:55Speaker 2: how they're going to leave this, like pretty much right.
- 34:57Speaker 2: And I felt like they only brought him back at
- 35:01Speaker 2: like the airplane so that he could throw the football
- 35:04Speaker 2: and hit his grandma. I felt like that was the
- 35:06Speaker 2: only reason why they brought him to me.
- 35:09Speaker 4: If that was the whole thing, well, at the end,
- 35:11Speaker 4: we want him to hit a ground.
- 35:12Speaker 3: It was more almost more kind of like character background
- 35:16Speaker 3: for Farley's character, saying like this is what he really
- 35:19Speaker 3: likes to do, is working with the kids and everything.
- 35:22Speaker 3: But then it descended into chaos immediately after meeting this kids.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 35:27Speaker 2: I wonder if they had other plans for that, like
- 35:30Speaker 2: more plans to flesh that out than there. You think.
- 35:34Speaker 4: It wasn't like a cabin bit.
- 35:36Speaker 2: I wasn't really longing for more of that. It just
- 35:39Speaker 2: it seemed it seemed a little underdeveloped. I get you, Yeah,
- 35:43Speaker 2: get you for sure. Cool. Well, let's talk about our
- 35:47Speaker 2: favorite scenes and let's choose The dingas is quite simple, really, dingus, Dingus.
- 35:56Speaker 3: I could talk about my dingas all night long.
- 35:58Speaker 4: Brandon, what's your favorite favorite?
- 36:02Speaker 3: Right to it?
- 36:03Speaker 2: I know it's hard.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Favorite is probably the pullover scene.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Yes, it's pretty great.
- 36:10Speaker 3: It's pretty great stuff that happens in that sequence. I
- 36:14Speaker 3: definitely have a bunch of enjoyable scenes on top of that,
- 36:17Speaker 3: but I would probably say that one's the best one.
- 36:22Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Mehf jack, dude.
- 36:26Speaker 2: There's so many things in that little thing that I
- 36:29Speaker 2: still say all the time.
- 36:31Speaker 3: So yeah, I just love how he turns to the
- 36:35Speaker 3: guy in the back seat who had just described as
- 36:37Speaker 3: all these heinous crimes that he and laughs at him
- 36:40Speaker 3: and does the motion right.
- 36:45Speaker 4: I also love the like right before that a scene
- 36:48Speaker 4: I didn't really remember, but when he's like I'm stoned
- 36:52Speaker 4: and so yeah, like his realization I kind of forgot
- 36:55Speaker 4: that happened, and yeah, that's really fun.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Actually this time like a yeah, I could absolutely take
- 37:04Speaker 2: that one for sure. It was right up there for what.
- 37:09Speaker 2: I'm a pretty high brow guy, so you don't have
- 37:13Speaker 2: to laugh so fast.
- 37:15Speaker 3: I think I've said about you over these lasts.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Pretty high brow.
- 37:21Speaker 3: No ut there that likes clean humors, rob Quist, it's me.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Robert Charles, good clean fun. But the highbrow scene that
- 37:31Speaker 2: I thought was my favorite, it's just him falling for
- 37:34Speaker 2: like ten minutes.
- 37:36Speaker 3: I was going to say, just eating down the hill
- 37:38Speaker 3: for like a crazy so it just keeps going.
- 37:42Speaker 2: And I have said the line he says to the
- 37:45Speaker 2: little root so many times. When I hear that line,
- 37:50Speaker 2: I hear you saying it way more than I hear
- 37:52Speaker 2: him saying. Well, because I've heard me say it a
- 37:53Speaker 2: thousand times. That's a great line. I love it. I
- 37:56Speaker 2: support it.
- 37:59Speaker 3: He holds onto a little pamphlet the entire way down.
- 38:03Speaker 4: Everybody counts.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Then he looks up and it's like a mountain. At
- 38:12Speaker 2: the top of this mountain, he.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Gets the little moment where he thinks he's good because
- 38:19Speaker 3: he lands on that little rock ledge and then collapses.
- 38:23Speaker 2: It's so good without that is so good, and it's
- 38:27Speaker 2: so great because, like you can see at the very
- 38:29Speaker 2: end of it, like that was one hundred percent him
- 38:33Speaker 2: doing at least the last.
- 38:35Speaker 4: Shot of the couple of some of those roles. He's
- 38:39Speaker 4: flying so far up in the air.
- 38:43Speaker 2: And just the hurt Chris Farley, that would have been
- 38:48Speaker 2: a good maybe just the best falls. That would have
- 38:54Speaker 2: been good. That would have been a good one. Oops,
- 38:57Speaker 2: I fell over, I fell I fell over, don't behave Well?
- 39:03Speaker 2: What was your favorite scene? Bukes?
- 39:05Speaker 4: It's funny because I had the two written down that
- 39:07Speaker 4: we've said, the pullover scene, but I think I would
- 39:10Speaker 4: pick the rolling down the hill scene honestly.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Like it could definitely be a dual dual so good.
- 39:17Speaker 8: Uh.
- 39:17Speaker 2: The other one I had as a you know, runner up.
- 39:20Speaker 2: I just really like the bat scene.
- 39:22Speaker 4: It's it's a recycled bit for sure, not only from
- 39:26Speaker 4: Great Outdoors, but I bet it's been done a dozen
- 39:29Speaker 4: times and you know, any number of different slight variations,
- 39:33Speaker 4: I'm sure, but it was just great seeing, you know,
- 39:35Speaker 4: hearing him yell at each other and all that stuff.
- 39:38Speaker 2: But it's funny.
- 39:39Speaker 3: The rock the Vote rally, Yeah, that was my next one.
- 39:44Speaker 3: I just love you just yelling random phrases and obviously
- 39:47Speaker 3: ends in unfortunate one once again not getting out of
- 39:52Speaker 3: his own way.
- 39:53Speaker 2: But right, Yeah, it's so fun to see him be
- 39:56Speaker 2: so scared and then he gets a little bit of applause.
- 39:58Speaker 2: He's like, oh yeah, this is my shower. Yeah, that
- 40:06Speaker 2: was hilarious. My fourth runner up was just all of
- 40:11Speaker 2: the cabin high jinks. So probably probably the bunk scene
- 40:16Speaker 2: would be scene so good. It is so good. That's
- 40:21Speaker 2: Washington for you. Yeah, I got so good. So anytime
- 40:31Speaker 2: I see a bunk bed, I say that line absolutely.
- 40:35Speaker 2: But yeah, So those were all the ones that I
- 40:37Speaker 2: wrote down. Did you guys have any more you wanted
- 40:39Speaker 2: to chat about?
- 40:42Speaker 3: That was? I laughed a lot this time. I don't
- 40:45Speaker 3: remember laughing at it as much as younger. Just just
- 40:48Speaker 3: when he's driving down the street and there's a bunch
- 40:50Speaker 3: of random dogs chasing.
- 40:53Speaker 2: I didn't remember that dog, yes, dude, and some of
- 40:57Speaker 2: the lines he says, I was laughing. I was like,
- 41:00Speaker 2: remember that at all? Good call. I felt like I
- 41:03Speaker 2: didn't remember the beginning or the very end very well.
- 41:06Speaker 3: I know it's not on there for my favorite scene,
- 41:10Speaker 3: but I did laugh a lot at all.
- 41:11Speaker 2: The dogs chasing the car, Yeah, that was funny.
- 41:15Speaker 4: I like when they were handing out the pamphlets at
- 41:17Speaker 4: the grocery store.
- 41:19Speaker 2: And he kept just like getting in people's the old
- 41:24Speaker 2: he did the cartwheel over to.
- 41:26Speaker 3: The land the cartwheel, David Fade just gently handing one
- 41:31Speaker 3: and he's like, you gotta put a little Showman ship.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Into Yeah, it was really good.
- 41:37Speaker 3: I liked that.
- 41:39Speaker 2: I love it. Let's do a dual ding guy, Let's
- 41:43Speaker 2: do the fall and the row ad scene. And speaking
- 41:49Speaker 2: of row ads, why don't we do some of our
- 41:51Speaker 2: favorite quotes, and let's show me the money, show me Brandon,
- 42:03Speaker 2: we got her quotes.
- 42:06Speaker 3: I'm not ready for that one yet.
- 42:08Speaker 2: I have a ton. For some reason, I wrote down
- 42:11Speaker 2: more than I thought I was going to.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Maybe not. For some reason, we dropped a couple and
- 42:14Speaker 3: I'm just gonna start with the this is great. I've
- 42:17Speaker 3: never won three games in a row. I hardly ever
- 42:19Speaker 3: played checkers. Yeah, well, you know, it's kind of easy
- 42:23Speaker 3: to win when you never remove your back row.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Ever, come on, I can't believe you did. And then
- 42:36Speaker 2: he like lets him. Then it wasn't at all there
- 42:41Speaker 2: It's safe.
- 42:41Speaker 3: I promise.
- 42:46Speaker 2: That was great.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I don't. I mean, there's like from
- 42:51Speaker 3: Tommy Boy the handcack it was Herbie handcuck that like
- 42:56Speaker 3: inflection or tone is like we've we've all done into
- 43:00Speaker 3: each other for years. What an idiot, idiot?
- 43:06Speaker 2: That's true, Richard Steve, you can keep throwing some out, Brando.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Young Man I'm gonna twist off your head and spike
- 43:18Speaker 3: it onto the floors of a nightmare you can't even imagine.
- 43:20Speaker 3: I will dance with you inside the six sided ring
- 43:23Speaker 3: of fire unless you move from this area far and fast.
- 43:27Speaker 2: So much.
- 43:28Speaker 3: And I love that he was definitely throwing in the
- 43:32Speaker 3: hand motions that he used during when he was waynsworld.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and he said, you're gonna have to leave
- 43:40Speaker 3: this quadrant or you know this vector.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Yeah, your coordinates just all those.
- 43:47Speaker 3: I love it, Niner, just the one that I say
- 43:59Speaker 3: all the time. And I like Adam Sandler's done this
- 44:01Speaker 3: one before too. But we're we're and you don't even
- 44:04Speaker 3: see him do it. You just hear it in the background.
- 44:06Speaker 3: It's what the kid with the kids at the gas
- 44:08Speaker 3: station when he's partying along with him and as the
- 44:12Speaker 3: photographer guys that the paparazzi guys are leaving, he's like
- 44:15Speaker 3: a horse.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that is great.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you hear the part where he's like telling the
- 44:23Speaker 3: kids off, but you don't. Those guys didn't see it,
- 44:25Speaker 3: and they just totally say, yeah, he was actually given
- 44:28Speaker 3: a motivational speech or right.
- 44:31Speaker 2: So funny, nice, what do you got Rob oh, thank you,
- 44:39Speaker 2: little roots. Please stay strong. I love it. I said,
- 44:46Speaker 2: I got DIBs on top bunk and then really comes
- 44:49Speaker 2: back to bite him later on the him just getting
- 44:56Speaker 2: pulled over. H Do you have any idea how fast
- 45:01Speaker 2: you're going? Well? I got a four to twenty six
- 45:04Speaker 2: HEMI in her three quarter cams nitro boosters. I can
- 45:07Speaker 2: get her up to as good as one fifty five.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Never do though, of course I'm chasing, unless I'm chasing
- 45:12Speaker 2: a cute chicken of ferrari. And then after he does it,
- 45:20Speaker 2: that's so good.
- 45:21Speaker 6: I guess I was going about sixty five tops seven
- 45:26Speaker 6: seven miles an hour, and normally when I stop people,
- 45:30Speaker 6: they pull on the shoulder and.
- 45:32Speaker 2: They show him from above and he's just in the middle.
- 45:35Speaker 2: I also loved his face when he says that, because
- 45:37Speaker 2: he just goes dang it. Yeah, road, could you take
- 45:42Speaker 2: him through here a little faster than seven miles per hour? Officer? Uh,
- 45:49Speaker 2: knee off Jack? That little bit so good? Kill Whitey.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Yeah there all just going No. No, I'm just dandy.
- 46:08Speaker 2: I got a bowl of chocolate putting in my underpants,
- 46:10Speaker 2: so fun. We didn't have any pudding in there, buddy,
- 46:14Speaker 2: perfect you can say some bugs. Uh sure from right
- 46:19Speaker 2: away when he's like, cut off my pumper. That was
- 46:22Speaker 2: really funny. I don't remember it to the dogs. Oh
- 46:25Speaker 2: my god. He's such a good screamer. It's so great
- 46:30Speaker 2: when he's like, do you think this truck is in
- 46:32Speaker 2: heat or something? Do you think this truck is in heat? Killed?
- 46:43Speaker 4: When when he gets out and the press conference is
- 46:46Speaker 4: like stopped and he goes, what the hell is this
- 46:48Speaker 4: theater doing here?
- 46:50Speaker 2: What's a marquis so funny, so funny.
- 46:56Speaker 4: I love when he's doing the phone banking and he
- 46:58Speaker 4: just goes like, hell, everybody's got a dream?
- 47:01Speaker 2: Am I?
- 47:01Speaker 4: Right between doing ma I had a doozy myself last night.
- 47:05Speaker 4: Get this all corn fed harvest mouse, a hooker, a nun,
- 47:09Speaker 4: a Flemish peasant woman, whips chains, whistles yo yos, a
- 47:13Speaker 4: circus midget, my grandmother riding buying a bicycle giving me
- 47:16Speaker 4: the finger, and.
- 47:19Speaker 2: I don't know are you crying? Oh my lord?
- 47:22Speaker 4: Oh honey, I'm sorry.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Please, could you get your daddy on the phone, Your
- 47:26Speaker 2: daddy on the phone.
- 47:29Speaker 4: I always remember about that is when he goes whips chains,
- 47:32Speaker 4: whistles yo yos.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yo yo son.
- 47:36Speaker 3: He pops his voice up and down as he's going
- 47:38Speaker 3: through so so good.
- 47:41Speaker 4: I love that whole bit so much.
- 47:43Speaker 2: I also love the oh you broke my nose. There's
- 47:47Speaker 2: so much blood. And then he goes ketchup packet. Yeah,
- 47:51Speaker 2: the way he says it seems like a big space
- 47:54Speaker 2: between ketchup and packet ketchup packet, ketchup packet.
- 47:58Speaker 3: You get pig head back.
- 47:59Speaker 2: Oh God, And the kid's like, oh, I'm so sorry,
- 48:03Speaker 2: it was just an accident. Catchup packet. So dumb and great.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Uh.
- 48:09Speaker 4: When they're in with the bat, he goes, hey' bet me,
- 48:12Speaker 4: I'm gonna get rabies. And he goes under the bed
- 48:14Speaker 4: for no explicable and I'm stuck.
- 48:17Speaker 2: I'm stuck. Yeah, a few things too. He's like, it's
- 48:23Speaker 2: gnawing at my skull. You're aggravating it.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Why are you kidding?
- 48:32Speaker 2: Why are you doing this? It's so funny. Oh what
- 48:37Speaker 2: did he say?
- 48:38Speaker 3: Oh?
- 48:38Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta stop running from things.
- 48:40Speaker 4: You gotta be tough.
- 48:41Speaker 2: As he pulls up the bucket of snakes and then
- 48:43Speaker 2: they really fun.
- 48:48Speaker 4: One that thinks me makes me think of wristrom all
- 48:51Speaker 4: the time is just when he goes rerectum. Damn.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Near kill them. Yeah, I love it every time. I
- 48:58Speaker 2: think now that definitely was the thing before that. Had
- 49:01Speaker 2: I assume right, yeah, I could not have come out.
- 49:05Speaker 3: My dad told me that joke.
- 49:06Speaker 8: When I was very Yeah, yeah, what I mean, I figured,
- 49:11Speaker 8: but say it is just one perfect And then I
- 49:15Speaker 8: said this one before the at the very beginning of
- 49:17Speaker 8: the episode.
- 49:18Speaker 9: But I feel like a horse is patued. So we've
- 49:23Speaker 9: said that on this podcast.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Oh yeah, probably eighty times. I don't know times.
- 49:30Speaker 3: I told you that I was specifically going to not
- 49:33Speaker 3: say that one, just so you could because it's kind
- 49:35Speaker 3: of your thing.
- 49:36Speaker 9: But funny, I feel like a horse is patuit.
- 49:39Speaker 2: I didn't remember it's from this movie. I don't know
- 49:42Speaker 2: that I did either. That was definitely I.
- 49:46Speaker 3: Knew exactly which scene was from US.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Oh I did not. Man, it's great after he falls
- 49:52Speaker 2: off the big like antenna, right, isn't that Yeah.
- 49:56Speaker 3: He's still hanging on it at that there, I feel like.
- 50:01Speaker 2: A horse is patued.
- 50:04Speaker 3: It's so good. The hell oh sorry, yes, no, no,
- 50:10Speaker 3: go ahead that one. Just say what the hell is that?
- 50:13Speaker 3: After chunking the road or something, I think I just
- 50:17Speaker 3: chunked in my pants.
- 50:21Speaker 4: I also love after he falls for twenty minutes and
- 50:24Speaker 4: he goes, now, what the.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Hell is that?
- 50:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I thought he was saying initially screams
- 50:35Speaker 2: when he is when he has his tie cat in
- 50:37Speaker 2: the trunk and this the old guy's like, hey, must
- 50:40Speaker 2: be all hopped up on crack cocaine. It is so good.
- 50:45Speaker 2: I think I lost him. Yeah great. Another old person
- 50:53Speaker 2: quote yeah, is when after Spade does the the flipping
- 50:59Speaker 2: off Gary Bucy, he then is going to do it
- 51:01Speaker 2: to the old lady. She's like, what you doing playing
- 51:04Speaker 2: pocket pool? Their son? It's like, excuse me, hey, you
- 51:07Speaker 2: got a little chubby going on there? Dream on your
- 51:11Speaker 2: little fart, you little fart. I loved that one. Yeah,
- 51:17Speaker 2: and I saw that that was actually uh the director's
- 51:20Speaker 2: mom who did that?
- 51:21Speaker 4: Oh really, that's fun.
- 51:24Speaker 2: I love that? Which just fun.
- 51:26Speaker 4: I have a Baucy one when he goes, I'm not
- 51:28Speaker 4: that far from dragging you out of your car and
- 51:30Speaker 4: beating you into dust, and Spade goes, you should maybe
- 51:34Speaker 4: work up to that kind of leaves you nowhere to go.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that was really fun, snoop.
- 51:41Speaker 3: Another Bucy one is when at the very end where
- 51:44Speaker 3: he like picks Farley up, when they're celebrating it, and
- 51:47Speaker 3: he goes, oh, you're a large American.
- 51:49Speaker 2: You're a large American. So funny.
- 51:54Speaker 4: Oh I love that. And when he at the very end,
- 52:02Speaker 4: when he gets like he trips and falls on the
- 52:05Speaker 4: governor the podium is like all these like chefs.
- 52:09Speaker 3: It's such a dumb baby.
- 52:11Speaker 4: But he goes when he's like gyrating back and for
- 52:14Speaker 4: it's like my foot's caught a little bit.
- 52:16Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I beg your pardon. Yeah, so, and people
- 52:22Speaker 2: are just looking at him. He's just like, Hi, how
- 52:24Speaker 2: you doing? How you doing? Little help here? Just like
- 52:28Speaker 2: that whole thing is.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Voting kicks ass, right, because uh, voting kicks ass.
- 52:33Speaker 2: You got some kick ass. Yeah, everything yells out. It's
- 52:41Speaker 2: so funny, so great. It's one small for man, one giant.
- 52:48Speaker 2: I have a dream. Just clear forgets what he's supposed
- 52:54Speaker 2: to say.
- 52:57Speaker 3: The exchange about the Mud, He's like, what happened? Did
- 53:00Speaker 3: you follow some mud or something?
- 53:01Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 53:02Speaker 3: I did, And I'm going to be rich because I'm
- 53:04Speaker 3: the only person on earth who knows where you can
- 53:05Speaker 3: find white mud. I didn't say mud, I said crud,
- 53:10Speaker 3: fall into some crud or something.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Idiot.
- 53:15Speaker 4: I don't think he says idiot, but it feels like
- 53:17Speaker 4: you should say idiot there.
- 53:18Speaker 3: Yeah, besides, it gives you the munchies and notes, I
- 53:23Speaker 3: don't get that. That's kind of the following up on
- 53:30Speaker 3: the same bit as the bear cloth thing.
- 53:32Speaker 2: From right Oh absolutely at a time, and I get
- 53:35Speaker 2: him watched in this region here. Oh so funny. Yeah,
- 53:43Speaker 2: we're just quoting other movies now. Yeah, we can move
- 53:46Speaker 2: we can move on.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Well, we were just back on the how they're kind
- 53:49Speaker 3: of redoing some of the bits.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Yeah, those are the ones I wrote down though, unless
- 53:55Speaker 2: anybody wants throw one last one. No, that's all I had.
- 54:00Speaker 3: I have a couple, but I think we think we're
- 54:02Speaker 3: probably good.
- 54:03Speaker 2: All right, Well then I'm gonna move along here and
- 54:06Speaker 2: we're gonna go to Mugs boom Wall the Crying Game.
- 54:11Speaker 2: I do think you got a little choked up in
- 54:13Speaker 2: two different parts.
- 54:15Speaker 3: I had two, Okay, I feel like they're probably the
- 54:18Speaker 3: same too.
- 54:19Speaker 2: I'm sure they are. The first one is clearing out
- 54:22Speaker 2: his stuff from the rec center, gets choked up reliving
- 54:26Speaker 2: the old memories. Yeah, that got me. He's so sweet there,
- 54:30Speaker 2: I didn't We might have three then, okay, okay, and
- 54:36Speaker 2: then there's another one where he gets choked up in
- 54:38Speaker 2: tyry and it's when he's watching the debate. Yeah, he's like,
- 54:42Speaker 2: get her out. I didn't either stuck up for him
- 54:45Speaker 2: during the debate. He says, it's nice. Yep, so tell
- 54:49Speaker 2: me you're two Brandon.
- 54:52Speaker 3: So I had the part where he was trying to
- 54:54Speaker 3: get a hold of the kid and they cut to
- 54:56Speaker 3: the kids sitting on the bleachers waiting for him, But
- 54:58Speaker 3: he didn't make it to like throw the football with him.
- 55:01Speaker 4: I would have guessed that would have got me.
- 55:03Speaker 2: It didn't.
- 55:03Speaker 3: I was surprised.
- 55:04Speaker 2: Huh, Well, listenings were right.
- 55:06Speaker 3: But you're just you're just heartless.
- 55:08Speaker 2: It's true.
- 55:09Speaker 3: And then then the part after the kill Whitey part
- 55:12Speaker 3: when his brother finally tells him to stay out of
- 55:14Speaker 3: the way.
- 55:15Speaker 2: Oh sure, he says.
- 55:17Speaker 3: He says, are you trying to make me lose the election?
- 55:20Speaker 3: He's like, no, I did. If I knew you actually
- 55:23Speaker 3: thought that was true, I would want to be good or.
- 55:25Speaker 2: Want to die. Yeah, that was sad. That was sadd
- 55:30Speaker 2: Get forgot about that. It was three. You guys nailed
- 55:32Speaker 2: it three. Well, thanks for the assist, buddy. Yeah, ext one, that.
- 55:37Speaker 3: Didn't make you cry because you're clearly a heartless man.
- 55:39Speaker 2: But yeah, I didn't get jumped up either. Dude, we're
- 55:42Speaker 2: both heartless. I's be the only person in America that
- 55:44Speaker 2: cried three times to black shoot. So I think we're okay.
- 55:49Speaker 2: I think we're okay.
- 55:50Speaker 3: Could have been four.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Let's do.
- 55:54Speaker 4: Yes, let's do a little movie. Truebia here. Fred Wolf,
- 56:00Speaker 4: who did punch up work on Tommy Boy, claimed that
- 56:03Speaker 4: the studio told him to quote deliver a finished script
- 56:06Speaker 4: by midnight on Sunday, the last day Chris was contractually
- 56:09Speaker 4: allowed to get out of the movie. If I didn't
- 56:12Speaker 4: have a finished script, any finished script, they were going
- 56:15Speaker 4: to sue me. So he wrote forty five pages in
- 56:17Speaker 4: a weekend, dropped the script off at paramount fifteen minutes
- 56:21Speaker 4: before his deadline.
- 56:22Speaker 2: You know what, It kind of felt like he was
- 56:24Speaker 2: like that about minutes and then he hits Graham on
- 56:29Speaker 2: the head sand sand.
- 56:32Speaker 3: Betty was really wishing chet GPT was the thing back there.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Oh yeah, right, big time. It was just called cocaine.
- 56:38Speaker 3: Then.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Uh.
- 56:39Speaker 4: Chris Farley uses the same football play that the kids
- 56:43Speaker 4: with the kids at the Youth Center thirty two belly option,
- 56:46Speaker 4: as he did when he and Rob Low went cow
- 56:49Speaker 4: tipping and Tommy Boyo thought that was love that so much.
- 56:52Speaker 4: He probably was a fullback, right, that was a fullback
- 56:55Speaker 4: in our system by the thirty two belly. Yeah, it's
- 57:00Speaker 4: en offensive. The security guards always said that were his
- 57:03Speaker 4: real life brothers, Cabin.
- 57:05Speaker 2: And John Farley. There wasn't a lot of great trivia
- 57:13Speaker 2: if I'm honest.
- 57:13Speaker 4: Cabin used on the outskirts of Town is the same
- 57:17Speaker 4: cabin used as Jill's Cabin and Joe Dirt, another movie
- 57:21Speaker 4: starring David Spade.
- 57:23Speaker 2: I don't remember Jill's cabin. Do they mean Joe's cabin?
- 57:26Speaker 4: I don't remember Joe Dirt very well, so maybe I'm
- 57:28Speaker 4: just never saw that either one.
- 57:31Speaker 3: I've only seen it like this, and I don't think
- 57:33Speaker 3: they've seen the second one.
- 57:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think I saw the second one either.
- 57:36Speaker 2: I think I just saw the first one. But they
- 57:38Speaker 2: were fun.
- 57:41Speaker 3: I saw the one we kind of touched on it
- 57:43Speaker 3: a minute ago, where in Staid fially performed most of
- 57:46Speaker 3: his own stunts. Yep, like most of the hill scene
- 57:50Speaker 3: was actually him. Uh there was the one, the part
- 57:54Speaker 3: where he like walks into the tree branch. I guess,
- 57:57Speaker 3: I guess. During he insisted on doing that himself, and
- 58:00Speaker 3: he did it so hard that he actually knocked himself
- 58:02Speaker 3: unconscious for a minute.
- 58:04Speaker 2: Oh wow, that's wild.
- 58:09Speaker 4: But yeah, they say that most of the scene with
- 58:11Speaker 4: him tumbling down the hill is actually him, which is nice.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Well, and you definitely could tell because at the very
- 58:16Speaker 2: very end, because he like immediately gets up the walks
- 58:19Speaker 2: and that's all one take. But that's crazy he did
- 58:23Speaker 2: most of that. It's like, why why would you do
- 58:25Speaker 2: that to you?
- 58:26Speaker 3: The part where there's somebody on the rope swing, you
- 58:29Speaker 3: can tell that's not him, but right, yeah, yes, I'm
- 58:34Speaker 3: not even sure if it's an actual person. At the
- 58:37Speaker 3: very end, it looks like it could be a dummy.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Just flying up, but the thing had some height to it.
- 58:43Speaker 4: Sure, I thought this was interesting. Farley was sober during filming.
- 58:47Speaker 4: Sometimes he would even ask the director to leave early
- 58:50Speaker 4: to attend alcoholics Anonymous meetings. But apparently he did smoke
- 58:55Speaker 4: a lot of cigarettes on stage or on set, and
- 58:59Speaker 4: before every scene he would chug entire cups of iced
- 59:02Speaker 4: coffee apparently, so he was jacked up on others.
- 59:05Speaker 2: He definitely gives that vibe, big time, caffeinated vibe, big time.
- 59:10Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a dark side to that one too, where
- 59:15Speaker 3: oh rarely he apparently he went to the screening of
- 59:18Speaker 3: the movie and he disliked It's the Final Products so
- 59:21Speaker 3: much that it actually had him. He actually relapsed because
- 59:24Speaker 3: of it.
- 59:25Speaker 2: Oh my god, Oh that's yucky. Yeah, not to bring
- 59:30Speaker 2: the room down. No, no, but that last one was
- 59:32Speaker 2: such a hit, right that.
- 59:33Speaker 4: Then this coming out the next because when did so
- 59:37Speaker 4: I don't remember the time on when did when did
- 59:39Speaker 4: Tommy Way come out?
- 59:39Speaker 2: When did this come out? Ninety four? Ninety six? Okay,
- 59:42Speaker 2: that's what I was thinking that. I don't know it
- 59:45Speaker 2: was ninety five.
- 59:46Speaker 3: I don't remember it was Tommy Boy ninety three?
- 59:49Speaker 2: Oh maybe it could have been. I don't know.
- 59:52Speaker 4: Do you research that. I'll talk about the combination of
- 59:56Speaker 4: bright lights on set. Oh tell me you found.
- 59:58Speaker 3: Tommy Boy was ninety f five and Black Sheep. It
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: was really one after another. Crazy, I realized Tommy Boy
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: was ninety five.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty wild. Huh.
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: The combination of bright lights on set and working under
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: sunlight while making this film damage dated Spade's eyes permanently.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: Spade says of the condition, I have to wear a
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: hat even indoors and flashes in particular freak me out.
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: I even have to make them turn down the lights
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: and the makeup trailers. I've become such a pain in
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: the butt with this light sensitive thing. It's a wonder
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: they don't just shoot me. He says, hey using that show.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, he damaged his eyes somehow, that's crazy.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: He seems hypochondriac adjacent.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Meanwhile, Farley is falling down like in this gay too bright.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: It's bright, it's bright on my eye. Just a yeah.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: I think that's basically all I had. There was like
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: a number of other ones, but they were Yeah, I
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: I mean, you didn't see any other ones.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: I didn't say, Well, there's the one big thing was
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: that Farley didn't want to do this. And I think
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: that we had talked about this maybe a little bit
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: on Tommy Boy. Yeah, but like he had the opportunity
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: to do The Cable Guy and like was first choice
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: for that, but he couldn't do the Cable Guy because
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: he was stuck with this contractual obligation he had to
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: make this movie and the Cable Guy, Jim Carrey was
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: given like twenty million dollars and on this movie. I
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: don't even think he got a million, paid him under
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: a million dollars for this crazy so like he had
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: to give up a ton of money and probably do
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: a better movie.
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: It was a meta movie for sure, meteor role. Because
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: you've never seen that, Robert, you don't like it?
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: No, no, no, I've seen it. It was just so dark.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: When I said you didn't like it at the time,
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: I didn't love like. I liked some bits totally, but
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: like the whole tone just kind of and it's been
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: a long time since I've seen it.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: I watched it later and liked it.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: So he was slated to be the Cable or be
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: Jim Carrey. I just can't picture that.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Apparently, yeah, sure, apparently they made it a lot darker afterwards.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Jim Carrey wanted to make it darker.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: And.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: It might have been like a farce before that more
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: than what it turned out to do. Interesting. Yeah, and
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: then what Brandon touched on earlier. The director Penelope Spears
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: didn't get along with David Spade during filming. He kept
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: complaining to her that Farley needed more He and Farley
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: needed more scenes together because that's what made Tommy Boy work. Uh,
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: And he said that she was unfairly giving Farley more
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: camera time, which she definitely did seem fair, but she
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: didn't really buy their chemistry, and Tommy Boy thought Farley
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: was way more talented than Spade. Would I would agree
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: with Yeah. Speaking to Farley's official biographer, she said, I
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: don't think I've ever even smiled at anything David Spade's
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: ever done. I still have retarding of a message David
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: left on my answering machine. He said, You've spent this
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: whole movie trying to cut my comedy balls off. So
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: sounds like they didn't have a great relationship. I feel
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: like he seems like he could be tough to work with,
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: though possibly was it like a maybe not deal.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Where Farley said I'll only do it of spades there.
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: I'm sure they're both under the same like sn movie
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: deal or whatever.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: Probably it's just weird, like if she hated the guy
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: so much and so unbelievable with even have him on
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: the movie.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: But right, Yeah, One interesting one is this is one
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: of three movies film critic Gene Cisco walked out on
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: during his thirty year career.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: I love that.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: The other two were movies I've never heard called The
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: Million Dollar Duck and Maniac and Black Sheet.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: So those both on your list for twenty twenty six.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: No, no, they're not. And last one I had was
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: just somebody up for another role. It looks like Bruce
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Dern was offered the role of Sergeant Drake Savage, but
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: he felt the character was too similar to the one
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: he played in The Burbs, which I think he He's
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: real a good choice. He's right, that would be very
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: similar Riven exactly probably, but yeah, no, Bucy was perfect though. Yeah,
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: that was all I had.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: He did have some large chompers on him, big old
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: jumpers huge.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: His son got those two poor?
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Did he really did?
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: I remember when someone was like, that's his son.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: I was like, yeah that makes sense.
- 1:04:55Speaker 9: Yep, same teeth at tracks yep.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Well will there be a sequel? Judgment day? Sadly no,
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: No we can't, and I don't want to talk about
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: that anymore. Game He's want to play a game?
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: Yeah? Sure.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: I made a plot tub time Machine where I'm going
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: to give you the plot synopsis to a particular film.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: When you know what it is, You're going to ring
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: in with your name, uh, and you can answer for
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: one point. There's no negative points for wrong guesses, and
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: all of these films have something in common. When you
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: know what that is, ringing at any time for a
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Pointfalo that might come up.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: Sorry, good call, he said, Yeah, I'm.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: You're right, You're right. Cool. Are you guys ready? Yes?
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: Do it?
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Number one the story of a middleweight boxer as he
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: rises through ranks to earn his first out at the
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: middleweight crown. He falls in love with the gorgeous girl
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: from the Bronx, the inability to express his feelings enter
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: the ring. Yes, Brandon, Raging Bull. Raging Bull is correct.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: It's not Rocky. It's not Rocky.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: No, you've got to be Southa. Oh yeah, ah cool.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Let's go to number two. A top student at the
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: FBI's training academy has to interview a brilliant psychiatrist who
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: is also a violent psycho path close. I'm going to
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: give it to the guest. Brandon Silence of the Lambs,
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: Silence of the Lambs. Yes, bugs, Bugs.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: Are these all movies that have livestock or a farm
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: animal in the title.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: That's exactly what it is. It's not even just an animal.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: You got that, it's a farm animal.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: Particularly you were you are so good at getting those
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: almost like you play these games every time.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: I'm a one trick pony. Pony would have been a
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: good one for this would.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: Have been good.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: Also, just so everyone is aware, I'm gonna put me seconds.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: Before Brandon in the end. That's fine, that's really gonna make.
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: You look I'm on my end. I heard it, heard
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: myself for you.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: So boom, there you go.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Although you were immediately after, so I'm sure you it
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: was very close, because usually there's a little more.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: Of a doway. Who knows for sure? For sure, but
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: I will make it sound like I've been cheated out
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: of this. Got you, got you? I love that.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: I love that for something you would do.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Yeah, go to number three. This one could be tough.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: We'll see a struggling.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: Reporter gets the scoop of a lifetime when he meets
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: a man who claims to be from a unit of
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: psychic soldiers who have been reactivated for duty. Bukes the
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: men who stare at Gilts Boom two to two. Not
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: a great movie. Yeah, I remember being whelmed.
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: Yeah, very whelmed, perfectly whelmed.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: All right, let's go to number four. A formerly renowned
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: chef is forced to return to Portland and face his
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: traumatic past after a group of attackers abduct Yes, pig, pig, Yeah,
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: pig is correct. Great movie loved it. Number five. Albert
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: and his beloved horse Joey live on a farm in
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: the British countryside. At the outbreak of World War One.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: Albert and Joey are forcibly parted when Albert's father sells
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: the horse to the British cavalry. Against the backdrop of
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: the Great War, Joey begins an odyssey full of dangers.
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: Yes, is it just called war Horse?
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: That is what it's called.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, I don't think I ever saw that.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Did you see that one? It is fantastic.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: I was about to just guess Warhorse too, right, Like,
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: I don't even know if that's an actual movie, but
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: it is.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: It's really good. It is checking out and nobody saw it.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: I feel like, but it's good. I mean, it's Spielberg
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: or it's gonna be good. Where are we after five dukes?
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: I have four brandon S two. Everybody's in it, and
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: everybody's in it?
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: Oh right? Because of the theme point, I was like
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: that the math does that make sense?
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: Don't you know? Don't you check my A lot of
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: these are tough. A lot of these are not. Like, Yeah,
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: so you guys are doing really good. You should definitely
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: check my math. Yeah, you got it, You're good. Let's go.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: Number six Chicken throws a small tone into panic by
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: claiming the sky is falling. Unable to do you say, bukes,
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: I did cool? Chicken, Little Chicken, Little is correct.
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: Another thing where I was just gonna guess, not realizing.
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: It was an a sual movie that's animated, right or
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: is it? Like I think it's this or Chicken Run
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: might be Uh?
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: I think that one's just animated. I didn't see either,
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: so I don't know.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Sam's yeah, it's actually directed by James Cameron live action.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: There it is. I love it.
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: You got a chicken, Chicken, Chicken or chicken.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: Let's go to number SEVENS so many Tommy Boy.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: The podcast.
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: Number seven follows an amnesic outlaw who arrives in the
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: frontier town of Absolution with a mysterious alien shackle on
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: his wrist, only for the town to be attacked by
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: technologically advanced aliens.
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: Oh bugs, I get its cowboys versus aliens.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: Cow isn't it versus? Is that not right? It's not
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: it's not.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: Cowboys and Brand and that's with Daniel Craig, right, it
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: is because I couldn't remember the name of the movie
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: until Bug's tiped me off, so thanks.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: You're welcome. I couldn't either, As it.
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: Turns out, like I could picture the actor.
