- 0:43Speaker 1: she's like, hello, wake up John.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Okay, So that was a reference to a show that
- 0:48Speaker 2: was on.
- 0:49Speaker 1: TV like ten, Wake Up John?
- 0:53Speaker 2: Because of all is fhilandering was or was he he
- 0:58Speaker 2: was a philanderer?
- 0:59Speaker 4: No?
- 0:59Speaker 2: I think that he was.
- 1:00Speaker 1: A oser and he had a girlfriend and he also
- 1:03Speaker 1: had like ninety kids and he was married to Kate,
- 1:05Speaker 1: which I heard was like a fucking night.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Oh that's Kate, It's gonna come for you. I just
- 1:10Speaker 2: want to.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Say that when we started, I'm not used to that
- 1:12Speaker 1: at all.
- 1:13Speaker 2: We start the podcast, we should start it with hi, everybody,
- 1:16Speaker 2: Let's give them Laala with rand That's how it should
- 1:20Speaker 2: have started.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's just exhausting sometimes.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I feel every day that one here.
- 1:25Speaker 1: The thing is we should just show up and we
- 1:28Speaker 1: just get it pop and it's natural. I don't want
- 1:29Speaker 1: to show up and be like, here we are again today,
- 1:32Speaker 1: Welcome class. Today we're learning about physics like it's supposed
- 1:35Speaker 1: to be fun like however it comes out, it comes out.
- 1:38Speaker 1: There is no formula to it.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Wah wah.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So I'm super excited about today, you guys, because we
- 1:47Speaker 1: have a guest. Who I have? Am I just going
- 1:52Speaker 1: to carry today's show? Thank fucking god. We have someone
- 1:55Speaker 1: cool on today?
- 1:57Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Who do we have?
- 1:59Speaker 1: We have my female crush besides Beyonce, her name is
- 2:04Speaker 1: Giselle Bryant. She's on a show called Real Housewives of Potomac. Randall,
- 2:09Speaker 1: you haven't watched this series? Randall and I watch every
- 2:13Speaker 1: single City of Housewives together, Okay, just admit it.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Be Hill's O C, New York City and Atlanta. Four
- 2:23Speaker 2: of them.
- 2:25Speaker 1: That's a lot.
- 2:26Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 2:27Speaker 1: You need to add Potomac to your lika.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Can I can I say something before we get into this?
- 2:30Speaker 2: I want I mean about this though. Yeah, so you're right,
- 2:33Speaker 2: I do not know shit about this show. So but
- 2:36Speaker 2: I did get a little for a one from you.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Cliff note version. Now, I can't watch every fringle, every fringle,
- 2:43Speaker 2: every fringle. I want a fringle. No, I can't watch
- 2:47Speaker 2: every show in the world. But but I am going
- 2:49Speaker 2: to try to tap in because you love this show.
- 2:52Speaker 2: So tell us it's the setup of the characters on
- 2:55Speaker 2: this show. Do they have the villain, the nice person,
- 2:58Speaker 2: the pushover? What's a big storyline this season?
- 3:02Speaker 1: Well, guess what, We're only we're only three episodes in
- 3:06Speaker 1: right now.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Get what was the big shebang coming out of the gate.
- 3:10Speaker 1: The big shabang coming out of the gate right now
- 3:12Speaker 1: is there's this woman, Candace. Keep in mind, they're all
- 3:15Speaker 1: stunning Candace while Ashley was like giving birth, was calling
- 3:19Speaker 1: her all sorts of fucked up shit.
- 3:21Speaker 2: What do you mean? She was in the birth literally.
- 3:24Speaker 1: With legs in the air, shoving out a person, and
- 3:27Speaker 1: this Candace is just on Twitter like firing insults one
- 3:32Speaker 1: after the fucking another. So the girls are like, we're
- 3:36Speaker 1: having a fucking sit down and you're gonna fucking apologize
- 3:39Speaker 1: to Ashley for being an asshole, and Candace is so gangsters,
- 3:43Speaker 1: You're like, fuck that shit. No, I'm not so Now
- 3:46Speaker 1: I'm i DBR the show because I don't like commercials.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So when I get home after this podcast, I'm gonna
- 3:53Speaker 1: go see what's up with like what happens at the dinner.
- 3:56Speaker 2: It's exciting.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm telling you, if you have not watched The
- 4:02Speaker 1: Real Housewives of Potomac, get on board because it's like
- 4:06Speaker 1: it's the diamond of the franchise right now.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Dam Yeah, I know you have two children and a wife,
- 4:11Speaker 2: and I have two children and a fiance slash wife
- 4:15Speaker 2: because she's basically my wife, Laala, I'm gonna have to
- 4:18Speaker 2: squeeze in the first episode of season one. I expect
- 4:21Speaker 2: you to do it this weekend too, and then we
- 4:22Speaker 2: will text each other and ask do we think it's
- 4:25Speaker 2: at the level that Lalla has just sold us? Okay, okay,
- 4:29Speaker 2: that's our home.
- 4:29Speaker 1: It's effortless. It's effortless.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Pretty Balace is here, so he has to do the
- 4:35Speaker 2: same job. So Alex, on Sunday we'll have a three
- 4:37Speaker 2: way text on housewife is a Potomac. No, we need
- 4:41Speaker 2: to be more educated because we're on a podcast with Laala,
- 4:44Speaker 2: who is dialed in. So Alex, yeah, what does the
- 4:48Speaker 2: Potomac refer to I'm.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Just curious Maryland.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Yeah, what a secure location.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I cann't wait, it's the most random location.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Just said Washington, d C. How far is Potomac from Washington?
- 4:59Speaker 1: I believe relatively close. But then again, I'm really bad
- 5:02Speaker 1: at geography, so don't ask me it's really close.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Can we do one? Can we do one geography trivia
- 5:08Speaker 2: game where Alex asked you two basic geography questions. If
- 5:11Speaker 2: you can get Alex is by far Alex is the
- 5:14Speaker 2: smartest in this world? Okay, down, all on? Oh god,
- 5:18Speaker 2: Tim just gave us a question, gave a look like
- 5:21Speaker 2: he could be smarter than you. Tim, I blow you
- 5:24Speaker 2: away and I went to film school. Now let's go
- 5:26Speaker 2: Alex Alex. Alex first asked Tim a question, a hard one,
- 5:31Speaker 2: and then asked Lala. Geography question has to be in
- 5:34Speaker 2: the United States for Laala could be anywhere in the world.
- 5:37Speaker 2: For Tim, let's see, because I suck at geography and
- 5:40Speaker 2: I openly admit it. Okay, go ahead. Is north Dakota
- 5:44Speaker 2: east or west of Idaho?
- 5:47Speaker 3: That's east?
- 5:50Speaker 2: All right, I don't know if.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Shut the fuck up?
- 6:00Speaker 2: Okay, Next, go to Tim because Tim thinks he's a
- 6:03Speaker 2: frigging genius. So let's see on the Dakotas. What is
- 6:06Speaker 2: the capital of South Dakota. I mean, Tim, wait, hold on, Tim,
- 6:11Speaker 2: you exactly prove my point. Geography is not the end
- 6:14Speaker 2: all be all of intelligence. One more category, Tim, pick
- 6:18Speaker 2: one more category.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I don't need to sit here and answer to.
- 6:22Speaker 2: All of you.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I want to know what's amazing about it's amazing.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Just all of exactly prove my point.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Geography, math, sciences, whatever, it's just none of it is
- 6:35Speaker 1: the end all be all you all. If I can
- 6:38Speaker 1: walk out the front door and keep myself alive, I'd
- 6:40Speaker 1: say I'm pretty fucking intelligent.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I want to say something.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I know I was not people who are very book
- 6:45Speaker 1: smart and like they don't des moin des Moines, Iowa.
- 6:50Speaker 2: People listen. I just want to say something. Can I
- 6:53Speaker 2: say something? Laala to your point? You are right. Look
- 6:55Speaker 2: I am. I consider myself pretty successful, and I was not.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I was an artist kid. I was not the greatest
- 7:01Speaker 2: student in school. My average is probably a C. I
- 7:04Speaker 2: don't encourage that, but they're all. There are also there
- 7:08Speaker 2: and bees in theater. There are also people who are
- 7:11Speaker 2: book smart, like Bill Gates, who are billionaires.
- 7:15Speaker 1: So I don't know, it goes and then you can
- 7:17Speaker 1: just pay people to keep you alive. So that's dope.
- 7:20Speaker 1: That's what I would do.
- 7:23Speaker 2: All right. I'm glad we played trivia on the podcast.
- 7:27Speaker 2: We will be back again trivia on the podcast.
- 7:30Speaker 1: No, I hate trivia on the podcast. We're not doing
- 7:32Speaker 1: it again. No, this is stupid.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Okay, can we do one more question for Tim? Because
- 7:36Speaker 2: it's really fun to watch them?
- 7:37Speaker 1: One more and then I'm ready to talk.
- 7:38Speaker 2: To you about and you're really smart, So here you
- 7:40Speaker 2: go here, you're oh for one? Go ahead, Alex, there's
- 7:43Speaker 2: another geography one. Yeah, Let's do the spelling bee. Let's
- 7:48Speaker 2: do the spelling be one time for Tim. It's my favorite.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Tim fails at the spelling bee. I didn't participate in
- 7:53Speaker 2: the last spelling failed Tim, Good, No I didn't. I'm
- 7:57Speaker 2: pretty going Tim, I'm okay at spelling. Okay, we'll see
- 8:00Speaker 2: here we go Alex real quick, because we got a
- 8:02Speaker 2: couple of minutes to kill before we bring our incredible
- 8:05Speaker 2: guests out. This is this is fun. I think it's fun.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I just as you get older, is that this is
- 8:10Speaker 1: the definition of fun.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I like it.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I'm go into it. Okay, what's what's the word?
- 8:17Speaker 2: This is to give him a real one out spell profundity? Oh,
- 8:21Speaker 2: this is great, this is great profundity.
- 8:24Speaker 1: What does that mean?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Go p R O f U N D I T
- 8:31Speaker 2: y k P the worst. Hold on, I'm the worst
- 8:37Speaker 2: speller in the world, and I could have got that.
- 8:38Speaker 2: You can't pick a harder one than that. That's that's like,
- 8:41Speaker 2: that's like college below. When I was in elementary school,
- 8:44Speaker 2: I knocked my best friend out of the spelling B
- 8:47Speaker 2: with the word coco c O c o A. Yep,
- 8:55Speaker 2: I'm serious. And he've held on to that level of
- 8:58Speaker 2: spelling B for the l thirty years.
- 9:00Speaker 1: How old are you?
- 9:01Speaker 2: I don't know, Probably have a real one now ten okay, wow.
- 9:05Speaker 1: It was.
- 9:05Speaker 2: It was a very early round of this one. Here
- 9:07Speaker 2: we got that one doesn't count, so I'll give you
- 9:10Speaker 2: one for one. You're one for one. Here here's the
- 9:12Speaker 2: last one. This is the tie break camaraderie. Yes right
- 9:16Speaker 2: here is tough. No, it is. And it's actually like
- 9:19Speaker 2: an eleventh grade spelling word maybe tenth grade c O
- 9:23Speaker 2: m is it. You already failed, that's it failed. So
- 9:26Speaker 2: that's why that one, well, that one's not okay, I'm
- 9:28Speaker 2: going to give Alex, but there's also it's like an
- 9:30Speaker 2: ar word. Give me your phone for work? Yeah, c
- 9:33Speaker 2: A m aar Alex, give your phone. Watch how good
- 9:36Speaker 2: Alex is? And I hate giving him props because his
- 9:38Speaker 2: ego is out of control. But here we go. Here
- 9:40Speaker 2: we no, you won't No, you won't you You've got ready.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Here we go. Furlough f you are l o U
- 9:47Speaker 2: g h Okay, you win, Alex, You're.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Better than wow.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I would have said l O W.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I could have spelled could. Let's take a phreak. The
- 9:55Speaker 2: word furlough has been in the news every day for
- 9:58Speaker 2: the past five months. I can spell for la.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Wait because everyone's getting furlough.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Because everyone's getting furloughed. Yeah, that's you're a little late today.
- 10:07Speaker 1: All right. As much as as much fun as I've
- 10:10Speaker 1: had during this boy time, spelling bee, you all are
- 10:14Speaker 1: just smartest ship. I can't get over it. All right,
- 10:16Speaker 1: when we get back, when we get back, we have
- 10:19Speaker 1: Giselle Bryant. Yes, all right, we are back with my
- 10:27Speaker 1: all time greatest crush besides Beyonce. They're like neck and neck.
- 10:33Speaker 1: What's up, Jaseel Bryant?
- 10:36Speaker 3: How are you? I can't believe I'm in the same
- 10:38Speaker 3: category as Beyonce. I feel like, so.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Oh, honey, you're there. Trust me. With a face like
- 10:44Speaker 1: that and an ass that don't quit, I'm on a
- 10:49Speaker 1: roll today.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I just want to tell you something. First all, nice
- 10:53Speaker 2: to meet you, Nice to me too. I have to
- 10:55Speaker 2: tell you we over here are the producers and myself.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I am a big Housewives fan, but I have not
- 11:02Speaker 2: and I don't know why Lala has not educated me
- 11:05Speaker 2: with your show. So we have homework this weekend and
- 11:08Speaker 2: we are watching the first season. I said the first episode,
- 11:11Speaker 2: but I meant the first season. So I am excited
- 11:14Speaker 2: to hear about all the drama firsthand from you, and
- 11:16Speaker 2: just how you got on the show and how that happened,
- 11:19Speaker 2: and and and is it fun? Is it? You know,
- 11:22Speaker 2: all the good stuff? And then when I watch it
- 11:24Speaker 2: now this weekend.
- 11:25Speaker 1: You'll have the back story.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but Lala, Lala told me all this shit that's
- 11:29Speaker 2: already gone down.
- 11:29Speaker 1: So Jizzelle, I told that Potomac is the diamond of
- 11:34Speaker 1: the Housewives franchise right now, like y'all are killing it.
- 11:38Speaker 2: She did say that.
- 11:39Speaker 3: She did say, Okay, but if you if you start
- 11:41Speaker 3: from season one. That's like so boring for where we
- 11:46Speaker 3: are now?
- 11:46Speaker 2: Basic, Yes, where should I start? Chazelle? Where should I start?
- 11:51Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Maybe start like yeah two and a half, like you know,
- 11:55Speaker 4: midway through season two?
- 11:57Speaker 2: Okay, Tim, two and a half, we're starting Alex two
- 11:59Speaker 2: and a half. Yes, that is our homework assignment for
- 12:02Speaker 2: this week and I can't wait.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So yeah, tell tell us how the Real Housewives of
- 12:06Speaker 1: Potomac came to be, because let's be honest, it's a
- 12:09Speaker 1: super random place.
- 12:10Speaker 3: It is.
- 12:11Speaker 4: It's so random. Okay, So what I think happened. What
- 12:14Speaker 4: I've kind of heard rumors are that, you know, obviously
- 12:18Speaker 4: they had the Real Housewives of DC that didn't work out,
- 12:22Speaker 4: and years went by, and they wanted to come back
- 12:26Speaker 4: to this area but didn't know really how to do it.
- 12:29Speaker 4: So we were cast and we filmed an entire season
- 12:35Speaker 4: if you can imagine, Islalla and they we did not
- 12:37Speaker 4: know we were going to be housewives. So like, we
- 12:40Speaker 4: filmed for months and we had no way.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Do you think you were what did you think you
- 12:44Speaker 1: were doing? Just like trying to make a show work.
- 12:46Speaker 1: You didn't know that you were going to be a
- 12:48Speaker 1: housewife like a part of the franchise.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Had no idea, maybe it'll be housewives, maybe it'll be
- 12:54Speaker 4: Ladies of because there's like Ladies of London, right, But
- 12:58Speaker 4: you know, we were unsure. So apparently Andy saw you know,
- 13:02Speaker 4: the cuts, and he loved.
- 13:04Speaker 3: It and he was like, oh, these ladies are definitely housewives.
- 13:07Speaker 4: They didn't tell us until literally, I don't know, five
- 13:11Speaker 4: minutes before they told the rest of the world that
- 13:13Speaker 4: we were going to be Housewives of And they couldn't
- 13:16Speaker 4: figure out the name to give us, meaning we're in Maryland.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Potomac is in Maryland. Okay, There's DC, which.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Of course they couldn't touch that because you know that
- 13:26Speaker 4: that didn't work out, right, There's Virginia, there's the DMV area.
- 13:30Speaker 4: They didn't know what to call us, so they kind
- 13:32Speaker 4: of like, did I guess their their research and they
- 13:34Speaker 4: came up with Potomac, which is.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Where at the time the majority of the Ladies lived.
- 13:39Speaker 4: And it is random, it's so random, and la la,
- 13:43Speaker 4: I'm gonna tell you it. This Potomac is ninety five
- 13:47Speaker 4: percent white, so oh my god, and so like we're
- 13:54Speaker 4: we're the black Ladies are the representation of Potomac.
- 13:58Speaker 3: So you can imagine how well that one when we
- 14:00Speaker 3: first start.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Oh man, oh man, you must have you must be
- 14:04Speaker 2: running that city. You guys must be running that city.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Oh you'll see, you'll see how they are. They're running everybody.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Wait, let me ask questions. Do you live in Potanma, Potoma, Potomac?
- 14:15Speaker 2: Do you live in Potomac still? Now?
- 14:17Speaker 4: I actually live in Bethesda, which is like right next
- 14:20Speaker 4: to Potomac.
- 14:20Speaker 3: It's like a mile away.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Oh and it's like.
- 14:23Speaker 4: A little a little another little small town, but it's
- 14:26Speaker 4: like right literally, I live seven minutes from DC.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Okay, So that was my question because I just asked
- 14:32Speaker 2: Alex here, one of our producers. I said, I said,
- 14:34Speaker 2: how far are they from DC? So you're ten minutes
- 14:37Speaker 2: max from d C. Yes, So when you go out,
- 14:40Speaker 2: when you eat, when you go to bars, when they're open,
- 14:42Speaker 2: and you hang out, you're going into d C.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Basically, I assume, oh one, I mean, and I was
- 14:47Speaker 4: I was raised in DC proper.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Oh okay, so this is making more sense, Like DC
- 14:53Speaker 2: is cool, cool city? You know, you got it?
- 14:56Speaker 1: And they probably would have named this franchise that or
- 14:59Speaker 1: is this that our version did?
- 15:00Speaker 2: That one didn't?
- 15:03Speaker 1: It was was d C full of white women.
- 15:05Speaker 4: They had one black girl, but yes, the rest were white,
- 15:08Speaker 4: and so it was and they didn't from what I understand,
- 15:11Speaker 4: they didn't know each other at all prior to the show,
- 15:14Speaker 4: So it was kind of like they threw a bunch
- 15:15Speaker 4: of random women together.
- 15:17Speaker 3: They didn't know each other, which was which never right
- 15:21Speaker 3: with us?
- 15:22Speaker 4: Four of us out of the original six knew each
- 15:25Speaker 4: other for years prior to the show. Wow, so we
- 15:29Speaker 4: had the chemistry already baked in.
- 15:32Speaker 1: That's the best when you get fighting in a bottle.
- 15:37Speaker 1: When you can find a group of women who are like,
- 15:40Speaker 1: have known each other forever on top of their strong personalities,
- 15:45Speaker 1: the best it really is.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I have to ask she just I just want to
- 15:51Speaker 2: hear how they how you How did somebody just approach
- 15:54Speaker 2: one person? Did somebody coming with an idea? Call producers?
- 15:57Speaker 2: How does it evolve into the show with you, with
- 16:00Speaker 2: all all of you women getting together on.
- 16:02Speaker 1: The show, they were cast, all of them, and then
- 16:05Speaker 1: they didn't know if they were going to be housewives
- 16:08Speaker 1: or if it was going to be like Ladies of Potomac.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Oh, they had no idea.
- 16:11Speaker 1: They had no idea.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, I'm just right, But the cat. They was
- 16:14Speaker 3: asking the trackage, so.
- 16:15Speaker 1: They were going to sell keep going.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Giselle, the guy that casts the show, I actually have known.
- 16:20Speaker 4: It's just coincidence. I've known him for like twenty years.
- 16:24Speaker 4: So he calls me and he's like, Giselle, you're going
- 16:26Speaker 4: to do the show. And I'm like what, No, not, and.
- 16:30Speaker 3: So he was like, yes, you are, and that's that.
- 16:34Speaker 4: So he said, I've already talked to Scharise and Charisa
- 16:37Speaker 4: I knew, and Charisa knows everyone in Potomac everyone.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Wow, so she.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Was able to give the guy a whole lot of
- 16:47Speaker 4: different women. And then I said, well, if I'm doing it,
- 16:50Speaker 4: Robin's doing it, and so I got Robin involved. And
- 16:53Speaker 4: then I knew Karen and I were in a children's
- 16:57Speaker 4: group together, so I was like, okay, Karen was already
- 17:01Speaker 4: on board.
- 17:02Speaker 3: So then they filled in the rest. So it just
- 17:05Speaker 3: it just worked.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Wow, that's very cool.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I'm telling you that's it. You're gonna watch over your
- 17:11Speaker 1: new favorite show. So are you Are you and miss
- 17:15Speaker 1: Karen doing well or is your friendship still rocky? Like
- 17:20Speaker 1: what is it like this season? Can you tease? I
- 17:22Speaker 1: know the drill, I know the Bravo drill, So without
- 17:25Speaker 1: filling it all, just give me a little little sippy.
- 17:28Speaker 4: We ebb and flow as we this season, as we
- 17:31Speaker 4: normally do. However, I don't particularly like the way that
- 17:34Speaker 4: we ended the season, so I straight up have not
- 17:38Speaker 4: spoken to her since we stopped filming.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Oh wow, Yeah, that's juice. You're gonna see what I'm
- 17:44Speaker 1: telling you what I can't.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Wait to see. Wait, what was the fight about, like why.
- 17:48Speaker 3: They fell out?
- 17:49Speaker 4: Yeah, me and her, Yeah, it was it dealt with
- 17:54Speaker 4: respect and I felt like she disrespected me, and that's
- 17:57Speaker 4: what I don't tolerate.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't like that either.
- 18:00Speaker 1: By the way, that's when it all goes south.
- 18:02Speaker 2: I have friends that you know, will disrespect me, you
- 18:05Speaker 2: know that I've known for even a long time, and
- 18:07Speaker 2: that's the only thing that really just sets me off
- 18:09Speaker 2: because it's like I always am one of those givers,
- 18:12Speaker 2: Like I always want to help my friends and bring
- 18:15Speaker 2: them up and do what I can do, and the
- 18:16Speaker 2: minute they just take advantage or disrespect, it's like it's
- 18:20Speaker 2: not worth it for me. That's the end, exactly. Yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 2: I feel exactly. I feel the.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Same, and especially when you're on a show together.
- 18:27Speaker 4: So you know, she knows personal things that have been
- 18:30Speaker 4: off camera about me and me I know about her
- 18:32Speaker 4: that we'll never cross the line and kind of like
- 18:35Speaker 4: be disrespectful on camera with it. And I just felt
- 18:39Speaker 4: like there's a level of respect for our friendship that
- 18:44Speaker 4: she disregarded and I didn't.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I don't like that.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Oh, so you feel like she went into a territory
- 18:50Speaker 1: that was supposed to be left off camera? Is that
- 18:53Speaker 1: what you're saying.
- 18:54Speaker 3: No, she didn't do that, But she didn't. She didn't.
- 18:58Speaker 3: She just didn't ride for me like I I have
- 19:00Speaker 3: written for her.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I can understand that. So I have a question
- 19:05Speaker 1: when you started this show, what are you We're on
- 19:07Speaker 1: season five right, Yeah, season five is airing now. Did
- 19:11Speaker 1: it take a minute to adjust? Because I know with
- 19:14Speaker 1: my cast, and I'm sure I'll get in trouble for
- 19:16Speaker 1: saying this. I know certain things that my cast members
- 19:19Speaker 1: have told me that I would not mention on the show,
- 19:23Speaker 1: just because I think there's just a level of privacy
- 19:26Speaker 1: that we have to you know, I still want these
- 19:28Speaker 1: people to be my friends when the show.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Things happen during filming, So it's.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Like, correct, correct? Did you find it hard where it
- 19:36Speaker 1: was like, there are certain things that I don't really
- 19:38Speaker 1: want to discuss for the world to watch. Did like
- 19:42Speaker 1: did you have to get used to that?
- 19:44Speaker 3: Of course, of course, But.
- 19:48Speaker 4: You know season one we were really kind of like
- 19:51Speaker 4: lightweight and it was never anything that was too out
- 19:55Speaker 4: of bounds. However, as time goes by, you know, this
- 19:59Speaker 4: stuff gets to the press. So once it's public with
- 20:02Speaker 4: regards to press, it's we got to.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Talk about it, right. You can't cannot talk about it right.
- 20:09Speaker 4: So that's kind of where the seasons have have changed
- 20:14Speaker 4: and the information has changed, and it's kind of like, Okay,
- 20:17Speaker 4: I can't sit here and act like I haven't read
- 20:18Speaker 4: the blogs because now I know all about your husband
- 20:21Speaker 4: and what he's doing, you know, with Karen and her
- 20:23Speaker 4: whole tax thing, like that was in the Washington Post
- 20:27Speaker 4: that her husband owed the irs like five million dollars, Like, there's.
- 20:30Speaker 3: No way we can't talk about it. I have to
- 20:32Speaker 3: talk about it.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Wow, No, I'm telling you, Like, when I watch y'all show,
- 20:37Speaker 1: it's like real shit. Yeah, you know, I'm like, where
- 20:42Speaker 1: are we going here? Like, oh, they're going there right now?
- 20:46Speaker 4: Yes, And I feel like, you know, we can't get
- 20:51Speaker 4: away with Connor I feel like Beverly Hills, like the
- 20:53Speaker 4: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I love those ladies. I
- 20:56Speaker 4: think that they are funny and they you know, they
- 21:00Speaker 4: are dripping in diamonds and pearls.
- 21:02Speaker 3: I love it. But they argue over literally nothing like zero.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Like lucy apple juicy. It's like, give me some real meat.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Yes, whereas we couldn't get away with that if our
- 21:17Speaker 4: life depended on it.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Like I gotta agree with you. I do watch that show,
- 21:24Speaker 2: and and Lawa is glued to all of these real housewives.
- 21:28Speaker 2: And when I watch, they're fighting over like did you did?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Were you out of line at the last party? I
- 21:35Speaker 2: can't believe what you said? You were disrespided. It's like
- 21:38Speaker 2: to me, it's like it's not that heavy, you know,
- 21:40Speaker 2: but they're make it like it's the end of the world.
- 21:43Speaker 2: So I mean to see you're cast and what and
- 21:47Speaker 2: how heavy it gets because that's not.
- 21:51Speaker 4: Yeah, we we get into it, and especially this season
- 21:54Speaker 4: and a maybe like five more episodes, we really get into.
- 21:59Speaker 3: What's really in it right now, which is.
- 22:01Speaker 4: You know, the whole black lives matter, and we could
- 22:03Speaker 4: have never known that, you know, the world would have
- 22:06Speaker 4: exploded like it did with regards to Black Lives Matter.
- 22:09Speaker 4: But in the show, we just talk about what it
- 22:12Speaker 4: means to be a black woman and and how important
- 22:14Speaker 4: that is and how we're viewed in this country, and
- 22:17Speaker 4: like all of that came up and yeah.
- 22:21Speaker 3: That's like really heavy stuff.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Yeah, big time. And I think it's phenomenal that you
- 22:26Speaker 2: guys you know, confronted in your show, because yes, I
- 22:29Speaker 2: think we need a lot more of that. So and
- 22:31Speaker 2: I hope to see that a lot more in television.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Well, I want to deep dive into what you were
- 22:37Speaker 1: just talking about. We're going to take a short break
- 22:39Speaker 1: and we'll be right back with Jazell Bryant. We are
- 22:44Speaker 1: back with my favorite Real housewife, Miss ji Zel Bryant.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Hi baby, Hi. So before the break, you were telling
- 22:54Speaker 1: us that in a few weeks on the show, you
- 22:57Speaker 1: ladies will get to address black Lives matter. What was
- 23:02Speaker 1: that like for you as it you know, even on
- 23:07Speaker 1: when we see Watch What Happens Live and you now
- 23:10Speaker 1: do a show that is about this not being a moment,
- 23:15Speaker 1: it being a real movement. I watch your Instagram a lot, like,
- 23:19Speaker 1: what is this like for you as a black woman
- 23:22Speaker 1: to be such a force behind this movement.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I think that it's great that we have this.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Platform, or that I'll speak personally, that I have this
- 23:30Speaker 4: platform to use my voice to bring awareness to things
- 23:36Speaker 4: that people overlook. You know, I've had so many issues
- 23:41Speaker 4: with my children and just and just them in school
- 23:44Speaker 4: and just you know, some things that the white kids
- 23:46Speaker 4: say to them.
- 23:47Speaker 3: That's horrible. But now finally.
- 23:52Speaker 4: The world is listening, which is a beautiful thing. So
- 23:56Speaker 4: in the show, there was an altercation and afterwards, you know,
- 24:02Speaker 4: which was horrible, But afterwards it allowed us to really
- 24:05Speaker 4: talk about how we conduct ourselves and how we handle
- 24:09Speaker 4: ourselves as black women in this country because we are overlooked,
- 24:12Speaker 4: we are paid less, we are treated like the lowest
- 24:15Speaker 4: man on the totem pole, and we don't ever want
- 24:19Speaker 4: to put ourselves on national television and show the world
- 24:22Speaker 4: what you already think of us, which is that we're
- 24:24Speaker 4: not capable of discussing things without fighting, without violence, without
- 24:31Speaker 4: being forceful. So it was it was a great conversation
- 24:36Speaker 4: and hopefully it'll be really well received.
- 24:39Speaker 1: You know what I know, obviously I haven't seen it,
- 24:42Speaker 1: but that is actually in the trailer when you they're
- 24:45Speaker 1: like doing a montage of all of these things like
- 24:48Speaker 1: a fight scene that's cutting in and out, and what
- 24:50Speaker 1: you say sent chills up my body?
- 24:54Speaker 3: Did it?
- 24:55Speaker 1: It really did, because you know, I'm obviously a white
- 24:59Speaker 1: person who collapse back very quickly and I don't have
- 25:03Speaker 1: to think like that Giselle, you know, And so when
- 25:05Speaker 1: you said that, it was like, wow, Like these women
- 25:09Speaker 1: are really shedding light on things that people that look
- 25:14Speaker 1: like me don't think about because we've ever had to.
- 25:18Speaker 1: And you know, you're You're one of the first people
- 25:20Speaker 1: that I called when this movement happened and things went
- 25:23Speaker 1: sideways with some of the vander Pump Rules casts. I
- 25:27Speaker 1: just was like reaching for any sort of knowledge that
- 25:31Speaker 1: I that I could get. So I really want to
- 25:33Speaker 1: thank you for that.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Oh absolutely, And you know, as we all moved down
- 25:37Speaker 4: this road, it's just like we could just have to
- 25:39Speaker 4: have the conversations because it really opens everybody's eyes to
- 25:44Speaker 4: what's really going on in this country. So hopefully we
- 25:46Speaker 4: can get to a better place. That's all we're asking,
- 25:49Speaker 4: just to get to a better place.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Absolutely. I love watching your stories and I love seeing
- 25:53Speaker 1: you with your girls and what you guys are doing
- 25:55Speaker 1: so good damn work. I want to I want to
- 26:00Speaker 1: move on to pastor Jamal Bryant. Yes, okay, So I
- 26:07Speaker 1: was telling Randall, I'm like, no, you don't understand, like
- 26:10Speaker 1: they were married, got divorced, her kids were like confused
- 26:13Speaker 1: when they got back together.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Yeah, let's I want you to spill all the wice.
- 26:19Speaker 2: She just flew right over that like it's like a
- 26:22Speaker 2: standard because I was trying to just process what you
- 26:26Speaker 2: just said. I mean you just like, oh, yeah, got married,
- 26:28Speaker 2: got more, got back together seven years later. I mean,
- 26:31Speaker 2: slow it down, Let's start with the beginning.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Hold on Jesselle was She's going to give you the gi.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I just want to ask the question.
- 26:38Speaker 1: They asked the question.
- 26:39Speaker 2: You married a many all in love, had children? Correct? Okay, correct?
- 26:45Speaker 2: Then seven that, then seven years later, got divorced? Correct?
- 26:50Speaker 2: And then how many years later from that did you reconnect?
- 26:56Speaker 2: And twelve years year? Oh my god, I got no more.
- 27:00Speaker 2: This is too good. Okay, break it down for us.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Break it down. So this happens.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Throughout throughout the twelve years.
- 27:08Speaker 4: You know, I had to make a decision and say, Okay,
- 27:11Speaker 4: do I am I just going to be mad for
- 27:14Speaker 4: the rest of my life, or do I really want
- 27:16Speaker 4: to give my girls the opportunity to have like a
- 27:19Speaker 4: real decent family unit. So I put my love for
- 27:24Speaker 4: my children over me being mad at him with regards
- 27:28Speaker 4: to the divorce.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Does that make sense? Yes? Okay, So then you know,
- 27:32Speaker 3: time goes by. I'm growing and evolving. He's growing and evolving,
- 27:37Speaker 3: you know.
- 27:37Speaker 4: I I'm growing into this like bad bitch that I am, and.
- 27:43Speaker 2: That's amazing. Part of the whole episode is great.
- 27:47Speaker 4: And then you know, and he's also growing and evolving
- 27:50Speaker 4: with his career and throughout the twelve years, you know,
- 27:54Speaker 4: we remain tight as friends.
- 27:57Speaker 2: All on a second. Okay, so I know in twelve
- 28:01Speaker 2: years of being co parents and amazing children in separate homes,
- 28:06Speaker 2: do you ever hook up?
- 28:09Speaker 3: Going there? Okay, No, that's no. That's a really good
- 28:12Speaker 3: question and the answer is no.
- 28:14Speaker 2: I can't. This is amazing. That's even more amazing that
- 28:18Speaker 2: you close a chapter in your life. I understand the
- 28:20Speaker 2: co parenting. And then at some point, how does this
- 28:23Speaker 2: go down? Like how does this happen?
- 28:26Speaker 3: Well, I'm I'm clearly dating other people.
- 28:28Speaker 4: And doing my things and he's doing that too, So
- 28:30Speaker 4: I think it happened because of that, because we did
- 28:33Speaker 4: our thing without hooking up. And without like, Okay, you
- 28:38Speaker 4: know he's just going to put his pinky toe in
- 28:40Speaker 4: and test the waters. No, we were clearly living our
- 28:44Speaker 4: separate lives, of course co parenting, but that allowed both
- 28:48Speaker 4: of us to grow in our own space.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Okay, so then you know, I don't know. I think
- 28:53Speaker 3: I woke up one day and was I mean, he
- 28:55Speaker 3: would always of course, Randall, you know you know how
- 28:57Speaker 3: y'all do. He would always throw it out.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Dude, You're amazing. You are amazing. No, okay, so as
- 29:04Speaker 2: a dude, as a dude, that's all I wanted to know.
- 29:06Speaker 2: As a dude, you're saying, you guys are super close.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Over the twelve years, you're obviously both growing, you're both evolving,
- 29:13Speaker 2: and then you're, I want to call it your more
- 29:16Speaker 2: mature selves twelve years later kind of fall into line
- 29:23Speaker 2: where the attraction is there again. I guess, yeah, yes, wow,
- 29:29Speaker 2: you you broke it down. I do because can I
- 29:33Speaker 2: tell you something, I've never heard of this, and I
- 29:36Speaker 2: do know that Don Johnson and Melanie Griffeth that's the
- 29:40Speaker 2: only couple that I'm like kind of aware of that
- 29:43Speaker 2: did this kind of thing. Okay, let let's just talk
- 29:46Speaker 2: about that percentages of this happening divorce in America, unfortunately,
- 29:50Speaker 2: is fifty eight percent or something like that. Somewhere in
- 29:53Speaker 2: this high bracket of the fifties or sixties, I would
- 29:56Speaker 2: say that chances of reconciliation is probably point zero zero
- 30:01Speaker 2: zero zero er zero one. So it's just you're an
- 30:04Speaker 2: anomaly at the highest level, and that's why I'm so
- 30:07Speaker 2: just intrigued how it happened. But okay, so now twelve
- 30:10Speaker 2: years later, you've mature, he's mature. You're a badass, he's
- 30:13Speaker 2: a badass. You both are ballers and yeah, and you're
- 30:17Speaker 2: saying all along. He's like trying to get like Friday
- 30:20Speaker 2: night colms. You're having a few drinks. He's like, can't
- 30:22Speaker 2: sleep over. You're like no, So he keeps putting it
- 30:26Speaker 2: out there. But eventually what happens that you you put
- 30:30Speaker 2: the wall down or the connection makes sense.
- 30:33Speaker 4: That's what I'm okay, Okay, so let's let me back
- 30:36Speaker 4: up and clean some stuff up a little bit, because
- 30:40Speaker 4: it was never.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Like had too many drinks? Can I spend the night?
- 30:42Speaker 4: No, it was more like, you know, I can't wait
- 30:45Speaker 4: to roll you, you know, push your what do you
- 30:48Speaker 4: call those things?
- 30:49Speaker 2: Oh?
- 30:49Speaker 3: Push your wheelchair when we get old together? You know that.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Yeah, there was none of that four cocktails in just
- 30:57Speaker 2: being like.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I really want to know, are in there
- 31:00Speaker 1: more mature selves?
- 31:01Speaker 3: Now?
- 31:01Speaker 2: I got it? And yes, and your husband's a pastor.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I forgetting so.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Yes, and he so he doesn't drink, but I do.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I just forgot about that. So I screwed up. Yeah, okay,
- 31:09Speaker 2: so he's like a unicorn. He's like the perfect ex husband.
- 31:12Speaker 2: There you go, yes and yes, absolutely Okay. So now
- 31:16Speaker 2: he says, I want to push your wheel try, I
- 31:17Speaker 2: want to grow old with you, and yeah, in this
- 31:20Speaker 2: moment in your life where you look at him and.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Say, so, I am at this point where I'm like,
- 31:26Speaker 4: you know what, who do I want to grow old with?
- 31:28Speaker 3: Who do I want to travel the world with? Who
- 31:30Speaker 3: do I want to share my life with?
- 31:33Speaker 4: Because you know, I'm doing some great things out here
- 31:35Speaker 4: and I want to share it with somebody.
- 31:37Speaker 3: And there was.
- 31:38Speaker 4: No other person that I could even possibly think of
- 31:42Speaker 4: than him.
- 31:43Speaker 3: That's number one. Number two.
- 31:45Speaker 4: I was listening to an interview and I can't remember
- 31:48Speaker 4: who interviewed them, but it was Shawnnie O'Neill and Evelyn Lozada.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Okay from basketball wives.
- 31:53Speaker 4: From basketball wives, And the guy asked them, is that
- 31:56Speaker 4: you guys right? If you guys got locked up in jail,
- 32:00Speaker 4: who would you call? You had one call, who would
- 32:03Speaker 4: you call to get you out? And both of them
- 32:06Speaker 4: said their ex husbands. Seannie was like Shaquille and Evelyn
- 32:09Speaker 4: was like Chad. And I was like Jamal, Like there's
- 32:12Speaker 4: nobody but Jamal to get me out of jail because
- 32:15Speaker 4: I know he will die to protect me and to
- 32:18Speaker 4: take care of me and to make sure that I'm
- 32:20Speaker 4: that I'm good. So you know, when I started coming
- 32:24Speaker 4: into myself and realizing like what I want from my life,
- 32:28Speaker 4: it just you know, of course, it just makes sense.
- 32:30Speaker 3: The love is still there. And he then moved away.
- 32:35Speaker 3: He moved to.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Atlanta, Okay, and nothing had happened yet, correct, Like, you
- 32:39Speaker 2: guys now get to this place, this sweet time that's
- 32:41Speaker 2: away being kind to each other. Got it?
- 32:44Speaker 3: Yes?
- 32:45Speaker 4: And then I realized I didn't want him away, Like
- 32:48Speaker 4: you know, he moved to Atlanta and I was like,
- 32:50Speaker 4: holy shit, he's gone. And then that made me really
- 32:53Speaker 4: shift and be like wait a minute, this no, like
- 32:56Speaker 4: let's fix this.
- 32:58Speaker 2: So yeah, and that's when you reached out and you said,
- 33:00Speaker 2: let's take a shot at this. I mean, I just
- 33:02Speaker 2: want to know that the actual how it.
- 33:06Speaker 3: And I can't. I don't have that magical moment for you, Randall.
- 33:08Speaker 4: But we just started talking about us being back together,
- 33:13Speaker 4: and then we took it seriously because we were like, Okay,
- 33:15Speaker 4: if we're going to do this, we have to like
- 33:17Speaker 4: make sure we're very intentional. So we went to see
- 33:20Speaker 4: we sought counseling and you know, try to really get
- 33:25Speaker 4: in a good headspace to make sure because you know,
- 33:28Speaker 4: it's this whole trust thing that you got to rebuild
- 33:30Speaker 4: and all of that good stuff that you got to
- 33:33Speaker 4: make sure you pay attention to.
- 33:35Speaker 2: But you know what's cool because obviously this doesn't happen,
- 33:38Speaker 2: and it's, like I said, anomaly. What's neat is that
- 33:41Speaker 2: for twelve years you both evolved to completely different people,
- 33:45Speaker 2: but your completely different selves were more in sync than
- 33:49Speaker 2: your previous selves. I guess it seems like so when
- 33:53Speaker 2: you twelve years later, when you really got together again,
- 33:56Speaker 2: it seems like you both were just like spiritually in
- 33:59Speaker 2: the same place. Yes, I guess I think that's amazing.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I think it's a true love story and I just.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Have to put I just have to put this out
- 34:09Speaker 1: there because she has three girls. Yeah, and they were
- 34:14Speaker 1: like this is weird, like because they never knew. Yes,
- 34:19Speaker 1: how how are they doing with it now?
- 34:21Speaker 2: Yeah? How do how do kids respond to this?
- 34:26Speaker 3: Just that way?
- 34:26Speaker 1: There?
- 34:27Speaker 3: This is weird.
- 34:27Speaker 4: This is you know, we know what happened in the past,
- 34:30Speaker 4: and we want to make you know their.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Team mommy like no other. But no, they're good. They
- 34:36Speaker 3: love their dad and they're good.
- 34:37Speaker 2: So how long have you been back together? Now?
- 34:40Speaker 3: It's been a couple of years. I tried to hide
- 34:41Speaker 3: it for as long as I possibly could. You know
- 34:43Speaker 3: how that is to try to hide? Yeah, you're real life?
- 34:47Speaker 1: Yes?
- 34:49Speaker 2: Wait did Laala hide anything on the show?
- 34:53Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 34:54Speaker 3: I know how.
- 34:55Speaker 1: I know the drill, you duck and dodge the truth for.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Yeah, but then it's like, okay, fine, you gotta you
- 35:02Speaker 4: gotta deal with it.
- 35:03Speaker 3: So for for a couple of years now, yeah.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Okay, Wow, I am I am very this is Does
- 35:09Speaker 2: this now a question? And maybe I'm just be naive?
- 35:11Speaker 2: Does this come out on the show and in any
- 35:14Speaker 2: of the show. Does this whole rekindling happen on the show?
- 35:16Speaker 4: It happened prior to us filming, so so not really no.
- 35:20Speaker 1: But last year's last season's reunion is when Andy was like,
- 35:24Speaker 1: who are you dating? Like I've heard it maybe somebody
- 35:28Speaker 1: would you like to tell me? And isn't that when
- 35:29Speaker 1: you were like, I'm dating my ex husband?
- 35:32Speaker 4: Yes, yes, no, I was like what huhah?
- 35:36Speaker 3: Yeah, but people to be to be honest with you,
- 35:39Speaker 3: people that Noah's are like so super excited.
- 35:41Speaker 1: I mean, how could you not just listening? Do you
- 35:44Speaker 1: talk about how you guys like went off and did
- 35:46Speaker 1: your thing. And my mom always said, you can never
- 35:49Speaker 1: be with someone if if you only equal one hundred percent,
- 35:52Speaker 1: you each have to equal one hundred percent to make
- 35:55Speaker 1: two hundred. He can't be your other half. You have
- 35:58Speaker 1: to already be a whole person, saying well, I'm like.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Five hundred percent, so there you go.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Oh god, you go right.
- 36:05Speaker 3: I totally agree with that. I totally agree with that.
- 36:08Speaker 4: And then my mother always told me that I should
- 36:11Speaker 4: never be a man's first wife. I should be his
- 36:13Speaker 4: second wife, and technically I would be if we got
- 36:16Speaker 4: married again.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Wow, how lucky is that to be? That's amazing?
- 36:20Speaker 2: Well, you know what, I agree with one hundred percent
- 36:23Speaker 2: thing because I feel like like you and I like
- 36:25Speaker 2: today where I'm at my life and where you are, Like,
- 36:28Speaker 2: we're strong forces and we are our own people, and
- 36:32Speaker 2: yes we will break down for one another to be
- 36:35Speaker 2: there for each other, but we will always hold the
- 36:37Speaker 2: line on who we are and not let the other
- 36:39Speaker 2: swallow the other person.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Randall always likes to ask, do you need me,
- 36:43Speaker 1: la La? I'm like, no, really, I want you, but
- 36:45Speaker 1: I don't need anybody, baby, that's what But that is
- 36:49Speaker 1: what you want, Like, that's that's perfect.
- 36:52Speaker 3: I think that the first time when we were married, I.
- 36:55Speaker 4: He swallowed me up, like and I by design, not
- 36:58Speaker 4: by design, but I decided to kind of put all
- 37:01Speaker 4: my focus and concentration on him because he was building
- 37:04Speaker 4: his business and he was building his church, and I
- 37:06Speaker 4: was there to help him. So I think, and as
- 37:09Speaker 4: I look back, that that probably was not good.
- 37:13Speaker 1: No, I mean, how can that be good? You know,
- 37:16Speaker 1: it's it's crazy for you to say that because you're
- 37:19Speaker 1: such a strong force, like when you and I have
- 37:22Speaker 1: spoken or when I watch you on the show, like
- 37:24Speaker 1: I would never think that any man could you know,
- 37:28Speaker 1: swallow you up? When you know it's like shocking.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Later and now now exactly like kind of like where
- 37:36Speaker 2: we're at, Like we each have our identities and we
- 37:38Speaker 2: embrace them versus one of us try to eat it up.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Giselle, do you feel like this show gave you more confidence?
- 37:47Speaker 4: I had it before, but it like amplified it from
- 37:50Speaker 4: the perspective of I was so season one.
- 37:54Speaker 3: You know, you never know what's going to happen.
- 37:55Speaker 4: You never know how you're going to be perceived, And
- 37:58Speaker 4: I really was like a little terrified, like are people
- 38:02Speaker 4: gonna like me? Are they gonna hate me? Are they
- 38:03Speaker 4: going to think I'm just stuck up? Or are they
- 38:05Speaker 4: going to understand my jokes? So I realized that I
- 38:10Speaker 4: can't even worry about that, Like I'm confident I'm a
- 38:13Speaker 4: bad one and I'm just gonna walk my walk.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I love it.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I love it. Before we run out of time, I
- 38:19Speaker 2: just want to talk about your makeup brand every huge. Yes,
- 38:23Speaker 2: So you launched this in twenty sixteen. Tell us about that,
- 38:26Speaker 2: because that's exciting because Lala, you know, launched a brand,
- 38:29Speaker 2: and I love I love to hear about strong women
- 38:32Speaker 2: who are who don't have their own companies. So break
- 38:35Speaker 2: it down for.
- 38:35Speaker 4: Us by the way, thank you, Lola for what you
- 38:37Speaker 4: sent me. I was going to thank you at the end,
- 38:40Speaker 4: but like I love my lips. My kids were trying
- 38:42Speaker 4: to steal what you sent me and I'm like, back
- 38:45Speaker 4: up off my lipstick.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Thank you very much.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Oh you are so sweet. I'm so happy that you
- 38:49Speaker 1: love it. Thank you.
- 38:51Speaker 3: You're quite welcome.
- 38:52Speaker 4: So I started every huge beauty to basically help out
- 38:57Speaker 4: women of color because like when you go through through
- 39:00Speaker 4: the beauty world, a lot of times, most things that
- 39:05Speaker 4: are out there don't match our skin complexion. Until Finty
- 39:07Speaker 4: came along, Like Cinty really changed the game the world. Yeah,
- 39:12Speaker 4: and Fenty made everyone else, everyone like big box stores, realize, Okay,
- 39:16Speaker 4: we've got to have stuff in here for black women
- 39:19Speaker 4: because the.
- 39:20Speaker 3: There that Fenty just blew that market up. So that's it.
- 39:26Speaker 3: And we were in Target and it was a beautiful relationship.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Now let's talk about COVID.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Okay, so not part Covid.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Has killed our manufacturer.
- 39:36Speaker 4: So that's actually where we are right now, Like our
- 39:39Speaker 4: manufacturers shut down. We haven't been able. We don't know
- 39:42Speaker 4: when they'll be back up. And because I have skincare,
- 39:48Speaker 4: meaning I have products that that have to be I
- 39:52Speaker 4: have SPF in my product and all that has to
- 39:54Speaker 4: be approved by the FDA and all that stuff. I
- 39:57Speaker 4: can't really just like move to another manufacturer overnight. So
- 40:01Speaker 4: I'm trying to figure that out, guys. But Covid is
- 40:05Speaker 4: a beast because it has really put a monkey wrench
- 40:08Speaker 4: in every beauty.
- 40:09Speaker 1: It's put a wrench in a and I hate to say, like, well,
- 40:12Speaker 1: misery loves company, that's just the same. But it does
- 40:15Speaker 1: feel good to be like, Okay, at least I'm not
- 40:17Speaker 1: the only one that's affected. It makes me feel less
- 40:20Speaker 1: badly that things aren't moving the way that they used to.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Ye for everybody, no, everybody, like not at all.
- 40:26Speaker 4: And I never thought that this would be a problem.
- 40:30Speaker 4: Like I never thought, Okay, the pandemic has hit. Cool,
- 40:33Speaker 4: I get you know, you'll be shut down. But it
- 40:36Speaker 4: affected my manufacturer to the point where I don't know
- 40:38Speaker 4: if they'll ever come back up.
- 40:39Speaker 3: And it's kind of like, okay, we got to figure
- 40:40Speaker 3: this out.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Well that I think. I think that's that's interesting to
- 40:43Speaker 2: say it because everybody goes through like where we were,
- 40:45Speaker 2: like Okay, it'll be a month, it'll be two months, Okay,
- 40:47Speaker 2: it's three months. Now it's six, now it's nine, and
- 40:50Speaker 2: you're right, a lot of people have not will not
- 40:53Speaker 2: come back. A lot of my partners that I've worked
- 40:55Speaker 2: with also, you know, I've suffered where they haven't. They
- 40:58Speaker 2: are not going to be able to come back. And
- 40:59Speaker 2: it's crazy how we have to, you know, figure out
- 41:02Speaker 2: the future.
- 41:03Speaker 1: And and yes, I am so grateful that you found
- 41:08Speaker 1: time to be on our show. You know, I've been
- 41:10Speaker 1: trying to get you on here for a minute. You're
- 41:12Speaker 1: just amazing.
- 41:14Speaker 4: Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for watching.
- 41:18Speaker 4: You know, we were we were one of those in Randam.
- 41:20Speaker 4: I don't know whether you know this or not, but
- 41:21Speaker 4: we were the one of the newest housewives to come along.
- 41:24Speaker 3: We were like the little engine that could. Nobody thought
- 41:26Speaker 3: we were going to make it.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Oh wow, I don't know that. I know that. Yes,
- 41:31Speaker 2: you're going, you're going, You're going in the season four.
- 41:34Speaker 1: And no they're in five.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Five.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Five is airing now.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Yes. Oh so if I started two and a half,
- 41:39Speaker 2: I got two and a half seasons to watch. This
- 41:41Speaker 2: is great.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Yeah, great, Yeah.
- 41:43Speaker 4: So I just really want to thank my fan all
- 41:45Speaker 4: the fans that just stuck with us from day one
- 41:48Speaker 4: because you know, we didn't think we were going to
- 41:49Speaker 4: make it here.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Now that we have, it's it's amazing.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Oh, Giselle, I love watching or seeing the little things
- 41:56Speaker 1: on Instagram where it's like if you haven't watched Potomac,
- 41:59Speaker 1: like this is the goat, this is the one, because
- 42:02Speaker 1: I'm like, I've been telling ya this is the one,
- 42:05Speaker 1: So thank you so much.
- 42:08Speaker 4: All right, now, wait a minute, I need to get
- 42:09Speaker 4: in y'all's business. So when is the wedding happening?
- 42:12Speaker 2: Oh?
- 42:12Speaker 1: Oh, she we're going there, aren't we. So we plan
- 42:17Speaker 1: to get married in September because a correct and September
- 42:23Speaker 1: is approaching and nothing has gotten better. So we're we're
- 42:26Speaker 1: planning on next year.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Yeah July, Yeah July.
- 42:30Speaker 4: And that's smart, and you guys love each other, so
- 42:32Speaker 4: nothing's gonna happen between now and then.
- 42:35Speaker 2: We feel. We look at each other now, we're just
- 42:37Speaker 2: like we're a husband and wife. Like enough with the wedding,
- 42:40Speaker 2: like it's gonna it's gonna be magical when it happens.
- 42:42Speaker 2: But we've just like I pushed hard for September. I
- 42:46Speaker 2: pushed hard for October and then she just looked at
- 42:48Speaker 2: me and it's like, babe, let's not fight and I'll
- 42:50Speaker 2: hill battle. Let's just pick a date next summer. Knock
- 42:53Speaker 2: on wood. The world has the vaccine and life is
- 42:56Speaker 2: easier and we're just gonna roll with that.
- 42:58Speaker 3: That's a that's perfect, that's perfect. Okay, all right, I
- 43:00Speaker 3: can't wait.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Well, yes, you're you're This is what I love too,
- 43:05Speaker 1: is that I get to adjust my guest list. And
- 43:08Speaker 1: you know, because I've made new friends baby, that I
- 43:10Speaker 1: want to come celebrate love with me.
- 43:14Speaker 3: I would be honored. I love it.
- 43:16Speaker 2: You are invited.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Of course, we'll get you your invitation. All right, we'll
- 43:20Speaker 1: talk soon, baby, Thank you so much.
- 43:22Speaker 3: All right, bye, guys, bye.
- 43:24Speaker 1: I just die for her every time, every fucking time,
- 43:28Speaker 1: I get like flustered when I talk to her.
- 43:30Speaker 2: I saw that when.
- 43:31Speaker 1: You when you googled her, were you like, holy shit?
- 43:33Speaker 1: This woman is stunning.
- 43:34Speaker 2: First of all, why are you looking at it? She's
- 43:36Speaker 2: stunnying Tim. Tim hasn't watched one episode of Reality of
- 43:39Speaker 2: Real Housewives in his life.
- 43:40Speaker 1: I'm just I thought that was an awesome episode.
- 43:43Speaker 2: I never watched the episode of Real Housewives. No, okay,
- 43:46Speaker 2: so Tim is gonna watch I mean, why are you
- 43:48Speaker 2: were like looking at Tim? She asked about when I
- 43:50Speaker 2: was researching.
- 43:51Speaker 1: He researched Giselle, and you ask you if he died
- 43:55Speaker 1: when he saw her. She is one of the most
- 43:57Speaker 1: stunning women you will every Well.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Let me tell you excited I am. She's a badass,
- 44:01Speaker 2: she's smart as they come, and she's very, very fun
- 44:07Speaker 2: to talk to. I am going to watch this weekend
- 44:10Speaker 2: on Sunday. This is going to be my mission. And
- 44:12Speaker 2: she told me to start at season two and a
- 44:15Speaker 2: half two point five, So I'm gonna start there and
- 44:17Speaker 2: I'm going.
- 44:18Speaker 1: To blow through and then we can watch together.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Oh you're gonna watch again.
- 44:22Speaker 1: No, but you'll be caught up with.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Me o season five. But anyway, so by the end
- 44:27Speaker 2: of Sunday, I'll have probably watched ten hours. So I'm
- 44:30Speaker 2: stoked to see her.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Yes, And before before we sign off, I know, I'm
- 44:35Speaker 1: sure you are stoked to see her. I put your
- 44:37Speaker 1: tongue back in your face.
- 44:39Speaker 2: I'm stoked to see the show.
- 44:42Speaker 1: So before we sign off, I would like to give
- 44:45Speaker 1: a little bit of a shout out. I read today
- 44:47Speaker 1: that Jessica Simpson, as you know, she's sober. I didn't
- 44:50Speaker 1: know that she is sober. She wrote a book called
- 44:52Speaker 1: Open Book where she talks about her struggles with addiction.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Oh wow, And there was one Halloween that she was
- 44:59Speaker 1: so wasted that her friends were like, get away from
- 45:03Speaker 1: the children, Like she didn't even remember Halloween at all,
- 45:07Speaker 1: which I can say i'd see.
- 45:09Speaker 2: I did a movie with her like forget It ten
- 45:11Speaker 2: years ago or something even longer, twelve years ago, and
- 45:15Speaker 2: so I never saw that side of her. She's probably,
- 45:17Speaker 2: you know, just coming up in her career, but the sweetest,
- 45:20Speaker 2: nicest person. But so she's sober now.
- 45:22Speaker 1: She's sober now. And she did an interview and they
- 45:27Speaker 1: asked her, like, has it been hard not to drink
- 45:28Speaker 1: during the pandemic? And she said, I have not wanted
- 45:32Speaker 1: to pick up a drink, And I feel blessed, wow,
- 45:35Speaker 1: because I haven't wanted to, you know, and that is
- 45:38Speaker 1: a struggle for a lot of people. I've been on
- 45:40Speaker 1: my meetings where people come in that I've recognized since
- 45:43Speaker 1: I started that would say, you know, hi, today's my
- 45:48Speaker 1: fifth birthday. That means like I've been five years sober.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Who are now getting their three day chip or whatever
- 45:54Speaker 1: it may be.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Oh, do you see that A lot a lot of
- 45:56Speaker 2: people falling off during this tough, you know, obviously insane.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you're you're it's harder to be held
- 46:03Speaker 1: accountable because all you're doing is phone calls and signing
- 46:06Speaker 1: on to zoom. Whereas before it's like you want to
- 46:08Speaker 1: get in the car and go to a meeting because
- 46:10Speaker 1: that's like your social hour. You get to see your friends,
- 46:12Speaker 1: you get.
- 46:13Speaker 2: To get your checking in.
- 46:14Speaker 1: You're checking in exactly. We don't have that right now.
- 46:17Speaker 2: And they are saying, I've looked at a lot of
- 46:18Speaker 2: different stats. They are saying that alcoholism, obviously, depression, all
- 46:22Speaker 2: the stuff is on the rise because we're all living
- 46:25Speaker 2: in a really you know, unstable with the unpredictable time.
- 46:29Speaker 2: So right, so you're giving her, You're giving Jessica Sims
- 46:32Speaker 2: a shout out.
- 46:33Speaker 1: I'm giving her a shout out for being sober. I
- 46:35Speaker 1: think that it's amazing that she hasn't wanted to pick
- 46:38Speaker 1: up a drink, and her saying I feel blessed for
- 46:41Speaker 1: that is the perfect word to use, because that's not
- 46:45Speaker 1: the case for everybody. So I just want to acknowledge,
- 46:49Speaker 1: you know, addiction during this time and that if if
- 46:52Speaker 1: I can get sober, I know that you can too.
- 46:54Speaker 1: And it's it's just worth it.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Well, I just want to give a shout out to
- 46:57Speaker 2: you because close to your sober when is your birthday?
- 47:01Speaker 1: We're gonna round up even though in AA they say
- 47:03Speaker 1: that's you're supposed to count sure birthday though my birthday
- 47:07Speaker 1: is October twenty second. Wow, two years.
- 47:10Speaker 2: That's in so sixty days. I know we're not supposed
- 47:12Speaker 2: to do this, but I'm doing it. And sixty days.
- 47:14Speaker 2: You know, we take it one day at a time.
- 47:16Speaker 2: I know that. But you are going to celebrate your
- 47:19Speaker 2: two year birthday. That is magical.
- 47:21Speaker 1: It's pretty fucking magical, man, you know, just sitting up
- 47:25Speaker 1: on this uh sobriety high horse and I ain't coming down.
- 47:32Speaker 2: I am not on that horse. Tim, you haven't been
- 47:36Speaker 2: on that horse since you were born. So moving forward?
- 47:38Speaker 2: Oh good lord, all right, well listen, we've run out
- 47:41Speaker 2: of time. I just want to say two things. One,
- 47:44Speaker 2: this was a fun episode and awesome that I got
- 47:46Speaker 2: to meet the amazing Giselle and I look forward to
