- 0:01Philippians chapter 2. Let us pray our Father, who is
- 0:14in heaven, holy is your name, your Kingdom come, Your will be
- 0:28done on earth just as it is in heaven.
- 0:39Give us this day Our Daily Bread.
- 0:45Forgive us for our trespasses. Lead us not into temptation.
- 0:56Deliver us from the evil. 1 For yours is the Kingdom, the power,
- 1:10and the glory, forever and ever. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 1:17that you will bring heaven to earth.
- 1:20God, you will mark us. Lord, encircle and encamp us.
- 1:25God, and everywhere that we go is holy ground today.
- 1:28God, bring heaven down to earth. Today, let us go out and snatch
- 1:32those out of the fire. Let us go out and tell everybody
- 1:36about you and what you have done.
- 1:38And the same thing you did for us, you can do for them.
- 1:41God, I pray that we will not blasphemy the Holy Spirit.
- 1:45I pray in the name of Jesus that we will have reverence for your
- 1:49holy name, the name that is above all names.
- 1:52Yeshua, Thank you God for all the many blessings that you've
- 1:57already poured out on us. Lord, we're praying for daily
- 2:00bread today. Help us not to store up.
- 2:03God, help us not to try to worry and have anxiety for tomorrow,
- 2:09and help us not to be stuck in the past, but for today.
- 2:12God, we are content with food and clothing.
- 2:17God, help us to walk in the Spirit today.
- 2:21Help us to pray in the Spirit today.
- 2:23Father, I pray in the name of Jesus that you will help us to
- 2:28know that we are yours and we are known by you.
- 2:31God, help us to extend forgiveness out to every single
- 2:35person who's ever wronged us. Help us not to find our identity
- 2:39in our refusal to forgive. Help us not to find our identity
- 2:43in the things that have happened to us, Lord, but help us to know
- 2:46that we are a new creation, Lord, and that all of the things
- 2:50in the past are in the pass and they're under the blood of
- 2:52Christ, Lord. And we extend that out, that
- 2:56invitation out to every single person that we meet today.
- 3:02Lord, I pray against all the schemes of the enemy.
- 3:05Father, I pray against the fiery darts.
- 3:08God, let us put on the full armor today and withstand God
- 3:12and flee from all of the evil, Lord.
- 3:15Help us not to succumb to any of the negativity, Lord, the
- 3:20backbiting and dissension and discord.
- 3:22God is not becoming of us. Lord, we are yours.
- 3:26We are called by your name, Father, and I pray in the name
- 3:31of Jesus Christ Lord, for your Kingdom, your power, your glory
- 3:38to be on full display today. Show up and show off, Father, we
- 3:43love you. King Jesus, I decrease as you
- 3:46increase. Hide me, hide my words.
- 3:49Speak to us today in the mighty name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
- 3:56Let's start in verse one. If there be therefore any
- 4:04consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any
- 4:11fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies.
- 4:17What's he talking about here? He's talking about the comfort
- 4:20that can only come from God Almighty, the comfort that can
- 4:24only come by knowing that none of our sins will ever be counted
- 4:28against us. Blessed is that man whose
- 4:31transgressions will never be remembered, whose sins will
- 4:35never be counted against him. Blessed is that man.
- 4:38I pray that you can have this same consolation.
- 4:42I pray that you can be consoled in the Spirit.
- 4:45I pray that you know that you are not bound by all of the
- 4:49things that you used to do. That is not your identity.
- 4:52Your identity is in Christ and Christ alone, friends, and it is
- 4:57nothing that we do, but it is everything that He did.
- 5:01And the thing that separates Christianity from every other
- 5:05religion in the entire world, friends, is grace.
- 5:13And it is grace through faith. And by faith we take a hold of
- 5:17this, friends. You need to understand that
- 5:22every other religion in the entire world is scales and
- 5:26balances and you're good better outweigh your bad.
- 5:30But it never does. And you don't really know where
- 5:33you stand with God when you take your last breath.
- 5:36But Christianity is different. It is nothing that we do and it
- 5:43is everything that he did and it is a free gift, but we must take
- 5:48hold of it by faith. Friends to fulfill you.
- 5:54My joy that you be like minded having the same love being of 1
- 6:01accord of one mind. That is what God's plan and
- 6:05purposes is for the church. He wants us to be of 1 spirit
- 6:10and one mind, the mind of Christ to be filled with the Holy
- 6:13Ghost. And where the Spirit is, there
- 6:16is an immense amount of freedom. And you need to know that
- 6:20whenever David was running from King Saul that he went in and he
- 6:26ate the bread and there was a lot of liberty there and God did
- 6:31not strike him down. Because when you are in Christ,
- 6:36you have many privileges. And we don't abuse those
- 6:39privileges, but we can know what is pleasing to God Almighty.
- 6:46And we don't abuse grace. We don't use it as a license to
- 6:50sin, friends. But you can know that everything
- 6:53is under the blood of Christ and everything is permissible, but
- 6:58not everything is beneficial. Friends three, let nothing be
- 7:03done through strife or Vainglory, but in lowliness of
- 7:07mind let each esteem other as better than themselves.
- 7:12That's the key. Friends, we have humility.
- 7:19We always think of others as better than ourselves.
- 7:23This is so foreign to the current culture where we have
- 7:30Vainglory and we want everybody to look at us and think of us as
- 7:34being so special and that is not what Christ would have us to do.
- 7:42We don't need to be under the spotlight.
- 7:47We don't need to have center stage.
- 7:50We should not seek vanity and pride that is not from God.
- 7:56We do things hidden, knowing that God sees and He will openly
- 8:00reward in due season. You do not need to be seen by
- 8:06others. You do not need to tell others
- 8:09what you have done for God. You need to do it for God and
- 8:13God alone. And God will reward you openly
- 8:16in due time. For look, not every man on his
- 8:24own things, but every man also on the things of others.
- 8:28Don't be so self-centered and so self preoccupied.
- 8:33Don't be lovers of self and lovers of pleasure and lovers of
- 8:37money. You need to take care of the
- 8:44orphans and widows in their time of distress.
- 8:48We need to be others centered and not self-centered friends. 5
- 8:55Let this mind be in you, which also is in Christ Jesus.
- 9:04You need to have the mind of Christ, and how we can have that
- 9:07is by putting on His righteousness and His purity and
- 9:11His perfection, by being covered in the blood of Jesus Christ.
- 9:15And we can have the mind of Christ, knowing that all the
- 9:18wrath of God was satisfied on the cross.
- 9:21And we are going to stand before God Almighty Holy, because He is
- 9:25holy. Six, who being in the form of
- 9:30God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.
- 9:34Jesus is God. Jesus is the name above all
- 9:41names, friends, and he is the second person in the Trinity,
- 9:49God the Father and God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, three in
- 9:53one. 7 And he made himself of no reputation, and he took upon him
- 10:04the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
- 10:10Jesus Christ was all man and all God at the same time and that is
- 10:17a hard concept for those who are struggling with how He can be
- 10:24100% of both man and 100% still divinity in God.
- 10:32He did not step down from His divinity.
- 10:37He did not step down from His God status, but He chose to come
- 10:46lowly in a Manger. He chose to come and to put on
- 10:51humanity so that he can identify with us friends.
- 11:00And that is what you need to know is that Christ has gone
- 11:04through every emotion and every struggle.
- 11:07Christ has gone through every single temptation that you and I
- 11:12go through, and He conquered it and He lived a perfect and
- 11:16sinless life, friends. And that is what was pleasing
- 11:21and acceptable to God Almighty for the atonement of our sins,
- 11:28so that the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the spotless Lamb.
- 11:34And He was the only one found worthy to open the scroll,
- 11:37friends, because of what He did on the cross when He laid down
- 11:42His perfect sinless life, so that you and I can put on His
- 11:47righteousness and be covered in His blood, so that we can enter
- 11:52in to the presence of God Almighty.
- 11:55And God will not see any of the sins that we have ever
- 11:58committed. He will only see the perfect
- 12:00life of Jesus Christ covering us A and being found in fashion as
- 12:09a man, He humbled himself and became obedient unto the death,
- 12:14even the death of the cross. And this death of the cross was
- 12:18the most humiliating death that a human could have ever gone
- 12:23through. And Jesus Christ willfully
- 12:27obeyed God all the way to death. Friends.
- 12:31And no one took His life, but He laid it down himself. 9
- 12:39Wherefore God also has highly exalted him, and given him a
- 12:45name which is above every name. The name of Jesus Christ is the
- 12:50only name that has the power to save.
- 12:53And that is what Jesus means is salvation.
- 12:56He is salvation, and there is no salvation apart from Jesus
- 13:01Christ. Jesus is the way, the truth, and
- 13:03the life, and no one comes unto the Father except through him.
- 13:07And at at that name every knee will bow, and every tongue will
- 13:11confess, friends, that he is Lord Adonai, the Saviour of the
- 13:18world. 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee will bow.
- 13:25Of things in heaven, and things in earth and things under the
- 13:28earth, you need to know that at the great white throne of God He
- 13:34will amass every single person who has ever been born, is
- 13:39living today, or will be born, and every single knee and every
- 13:44single tongue. Friends will confess and bow
- 13:49that Jesus Christ is Lord. We can do it now or we can do it
- 13:57then, but it is far better to do it now and to receive salvation.
- 14:0311 that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is
- 14:07Lord to the glory of God the Father.
- 14:10So God the Father is glorified in the highest when we choose
- 14:15Jesus Christ as our Savior, and He is going to make every single
- 14:20person bow down and give Jesus Christ his due honor and glory.
- 14:25Friends, but once you take your last breath, if you have not
- 14:31bowed the knee and confessed with your tongue that Jesus is
- 14:35Lord, it'll be too late even though you do it.
- 14:38There is no universalism. Friends, there is no every
- 14:43single person is going to make it there.
- 14:45Friends, you have to do it while there's still breath in your
- 14:48lungs that you have to do it out of the free will that God gives
- 14:51to you and in His loving kindness He does not take from
- 14:56you. He could this very make you bow
- 14:59down and confess Jesus as Lord, but He doesn't.
- 15:03He leaves you in your free will and He loves you so much that He
- 15:07does not take it from you. And He gives you chance after
- 15:10chance after chance after chance after chance after chance.
- 15:14Every breath that you draw is another chance to confess Jesus
- 15:19Christ as Lord, but so many choose to go their own way to
- 15:26their own eternal destruction and damnation. 12 Wherefore, my
- 15:32beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence
- 15:37only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own
- 15:41salvation with fear and trembling.
- 15:45Today is the day of salvation. Friends, do not wait for
- 15:49tomorrow. And for those of us who have
- 15:52placed our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, recommit your life
- 15:58to Him today, over and over and over.
- 16:00Every day that you get, get on your knees and confess Him as
- 16:04Lord. And it does not mean that you
- 16:06can lose your salvation, but it does mean that we need to renew
- 16:10our vows. We need to recommit our lives to
- 16:14Him every single day. Friends, work out your salvation
- 16:18with fear and trembling. This is the awe inspiring glory
- 16:25of God shining all around us. Friends, that leads us to
- 16:29repentance. It leads us to the confession.
- 16:32It leads us to loving Him with all of our heart, all of our
- 16:36mind, all of our strength. Nothing compartmentalized.
- 16:40Friends, we do not have us on Saturday night and then a
- 16:43different us on Sunday morning. We are called to be laid down.
- 16:47Lovers bond servants of Jesus Christ 24 hours a day, seven
- 16:52days a week, 365 for however many years that you have on this
- 16:57earth. We do not get to check out,
- 16:59friends. We go out into the harvest, we
- 17:02put our hands to the plow, we lock eyes with Jesus Christ, and
- 17:06we refuse to be distracted. 13 For it is God which works in you
- 17:14both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
- 17:21It is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that enables us to live
- 17:24the life that is pleasing unto God. 14 Do all things without
- 17:30murmurings and disputings. You need to know, friends.
- 17:39A critical spirit is a sure sign of a backslidden Christian, and
- 17:46it does not mean that God loves you any less, but he will use
- 17:51you less, 15 that you may be blameless and harmless, the sons
- 18:02of God without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked, perverse
- 18:08nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
- 18:12We are called to be salt and light to this wicked and dark
- 18:16and perverse generation. And there are many who are
- 18:19steeped in idolatry and there are many whose are steeped in
- 18:24perversity, and there are many who are steeped in wickedness
- 18:30and satanic revolt. Friends.
- 18:33And we are called to be different.
- 18:35We are called to be the difference makers in this world
- 18:38today. The Holy Spirit indwells us and
- 18:42there is still a lot of good in this world as long as the Saints
- 18:45are still left here in this world.
- 18:48And we are the body of Christ, and we are His hands and feet,
- 18:52and we are out here in the world to do His bidding. 16 holding
- 18:59forth the word of life, that I may rejoice in the day of
- 19:04Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain.
- 19:08We need to finish the race well. Frank friends, it's easy to
- 19:13start a race, but it's hard to finish it.
- 19:15And what is he telling us? He's saying that we have the
- 19:18words of life that we hold in our hands.
- 19:21The Bible from Genesis to Revelation, nothing added and
- 19:25nothing subtracted, the inerrant, infallible Word of
- 19:28God. God breathed and alive and
- 19:30active. Friends, and that is what you
- 19:32need to understand is that we hold in house and have and hide
- 19:38the Word of God and we cannot let it go by the wayside.
- 19:44We cannot water it down, friends.
- 19:48We cannot add anything to it or take anything out of it.
- 19:51It is complete. It is authoritative and it is
- 19:55the words of life. And we do not need to run this
- 19:59race in vain. At the very last minute, right
- 20:03before we crossover, we fall down and there's lots of things
- 20:08that. Come to light that we tried to
- 20:11hide. Friends, we cannot let the enemy
- 20:15infiltrate the camp. We must stay active.
- 20:19We must stay alert and on guard of all the schemes and the Wiles
- 20:24of the enemy and have integrity. If there was ever a time in the
- 20:29history of mankind to have integrity, it would be today.
- 20:33Friends, everything you say and everything you do is being
- 20:39watched and recorded. 17 Yeah. And if I be offered upon the
- 20:47sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy and rejoice with
- 20:54you all. This is a groundswell that
- 20:57cannot be stopped. The blood of the martyr is the
- 21:01seed of the Church, and Paul understood that.
- 21:04Here he says, If I'm sacrificed and spilled out for your sake,
- 21:09it is for God's glory. We need not be afraid. 18 For
- 21:15the same cause also do you joy and rejoice with me.
- 21:21Don't be afraid of persecution. 19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus
- 21:26to send Timothy shortly to you, that I also may be of good
- 21:31comfort when I know your state. So Timothy was going to come to
- 21:35the church here and Philippi, and then he was going to go back
- 21:38and give Paul an account of what was happening there.
- 21:43And Paul had great confidence that the report that he would
- 21:50get would be nothing but good cheer. 24 I have no man like
- 21:58minded who will naturally care for your state.
- 22:01He's giving them Timothy's pedigree, and he's saying that
- 22:05Tim Timothy is like a son to him. 21 For all seek their own,
- 22:16not the things which are Jesus Christ.
- 22:18Far be it from us to be self seeking.
- 22:22We need to have the mind of Christ and to know what to do
- 22:25and when to do it and how to do it by being connected to Jesus
- 22:31Christ, being in Jesus Christ. 22 But you know the proof of
- 22:35him, that as a son with the Father, he has served with me in
- 22:41the gospel. Timothy has served with Paul
- 22:45like a son in the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. 23 Him,
- 22:51therefore, I hope to send presently so soon as I shall see
- 22:56how it will go with me. So Paul's awaiting trial.
- 23:01He's awaiting to see what will happen, and he's wanting to know
- 23:07if he should send Timothy or not.
- 23:09And it's all dependent on what happens at the verdict of the
- 23:13trial. 24 But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall
- 23:18come shortly. He's saying that I will come to
- 23:21you if I am released. 25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to
- 23:26you, if Epaphroditus, my brother and companion in labor and
- 23:32fellow soldier, but your messenger, and he that
- 23:37ministered to my wants. 26 For he longed after you all, and was
- 23:44full of heaviness, because that you heard that he had been sick.
- 23:48So this Epaphroditus was sick when he came to visit with Paul,
- 23:54and then the Philippians heard about it, and they were all
- 23:57sorrowful. 28 I sent him there for the more carefully that when
- 24:02you see him again you may rejoice, and that I may be the
- 24:06less sorrowful. And Paul was grateful that
- 24:10Epaphroditus did not die on his watch. 29 Receive him, therefore
- 24:15in the Lord with all gladness, and hold such in reputation will
- 24:21end on 30 because for the work of Christ he was near to death,
- 24:27not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service
- 24:31toward me. Paul was saying that
- 24:33Epaphroditus wasn't afraid of death, but for the Philippians
- 24:40encouragement. God spared his life so that the
- 24:45sorrow would not be too overbearing for Paul if
- 24:52Epaphroditus would have died on his watch.
- 24:55And you can see that God spared his life so that the Philippians
- 25:00would be even more encouraged. What an amazing God we serve.
- 25:05What a powerful, amazing God who can perform miracles.
- 25:11And you need to know that no matter what you're going
- 25:14through, life or death, disease or miraculous healing, God is
- 25:20sovereign. God is in full control and He
- 25:22knows how to bring the most amount of glory to Himself
- 25:27through the lives of the Saints. Let's get sold out for Jesus
- 25:32Christ today. I hope you've been blessed by
- 25:34this amazing chapter here in God's Word.
- 25:37I know I sure have. I'm praying for you.
- 25:46I love you. We'll see you back here
- 25:50tomorrow. God bless you.
