- 0:08Speaker 1: Well, netball fans of New South Wales, we clearly only
- 0:11Speaker 1: have ourselves to blame, but the easter Bunny decided not
- 0:14Speaker 1: to come this weekend to any of us. It's been
- 0:17Speaker 1: a hard weekend in netball in New South Wales, but
- 0:20Speaker 1: plenty of joy around the rest of the country and
- 0:22Speaker 1: plenty of netball excitement to enjoy together. You're a No
- 0:26Speaker 1: Dribble strap in Hello, and welcome to No Dribble, the
- 0:42Speaker 1: podcast where we talk about netball, we talk about so
- 0:44Speaker 1: much more. My name's carolyn'swhen Dell un joined today in
- 0:47Speaker 1: studio by the very lovely Oh.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Was that me? That's you Capcox, Hi go.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Hi and way up north, but not able to hear
- 0:56Speaker 1: us that well.
- 0:59Speaker 2: At all.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yes, who has a son who decided that he would
- 1:04Speaker 3: borrow my headphones that I use to do this podcast,
- 1:07Speaker 3: and they plug into a microphone that I use, and
- 1:11Speaker 3: the microphone can't be used properly without the headphones. So
- 1:14Speaker 3: now he's off crying and sniveling looking for the headphones,
- 1:19Speaker 3: and I can hear him rummaging about the house in
- 1:22Speaker 3: a very ten year old manner because he's turned ten
- 1:24Speaker 3: this week and I don't have a microphone or headphone.
- 1:28Speaker 3: So I'm sitting unnaturally close to this laptop so that
- 1:31Speaker 3: you two.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Can hear me and I can hear you.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it. I can see the size of
- 1:36Speaker 2: your pause. Yes, that's really good. But given Austin's just
- 1:41Speaker 2: had a birthday and he got a little mini motorbike,
- 1:44Speaker 2: what do you call those things?
- 1:45Speaker 4: A dirt bike? You go, little dirt bike?
- 1:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it could those ephones could be anywhere.
- 1:51Speaker 1: They could have bounced off anywhere around although you know,
- 1:54Speaker 1: so what's he using them with his phone?
- 1:57Speaker 2: Or what's a No.
- 1:58Speaker 4: He doesn't have a phone, I am it's a bludd eye.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I think he uses them with He's got like a
- 2:02Speaker 3: little Nintendo switch and he uses it with that.
- 2:04Speaker 4: I think.
- 2:05Speaker 1: So he's unlikely to have taken his switch out on
- 2:07Speaker 1: his motorbike, is he?
- 2:09Speaker 4: No? Unlikely? And yeah, it's happened a few times.
- 2:12Speaker 3: And I tend to just go into his room and
- 2:14Speaker 3: find the headphones because on a Monday normally when we
- 2:16Speaker 3: are recording, he's at school. Today, I've just ripped him
- 2:20Speaker 3: a new one and because he's at home, because it's
- 2:22Speaker 3: Easter Monday and he is now, you know, when kids
- 2:26Speaker 3: have that, they cry, talk to themselves, you know, and
- 2:29Speaker 3: they really feel sorry for themselves and.
- 2:31Speaker 4: They just.
- 2:33Speaker 2: That's where he's out.
- 2:34Speaker 3: He's mumble and just that I can hear him in
- 2:37Speaker 3: the background. He's trying to tell me that he thinks
- 2:39Speaker 3: that nanny put them somewhere, which is my mum who
- 2:42Speaker 3: is eighty.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Four, and she'll cover him for him totally, won't she like,
- 2:46Speaker 1: But I'm like, Mom, Yeah.
- 2:47Speaker 3: You're not listening to anything on headphones, son, Yes, that's
- 2:52Speaker 3: where up to So. Yes, he's had a birthday, he's
- 2:55Speaker 3: had lots of Easter eggs, he's had all the excitement,
- 2:57Speaker 3: and now it's all come crashing down around on Monday
- 3:00Speaker 3: because I'm asking him to be accountable.
- 3:02Speaker 1: The exciting thing for us, though, is at any minute
- 3:05Speaker 1: during this podcast, he could burst through the door of
- 3:07Speaker 1: of your office there with the headphone, so you know,
- 3:11Speaker 1: we don't know what's going to happen.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Dribbler's remember they clicked during COVID and it was it
- 3:15Speaker 2: was something guy that had.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Some high pave on the BBC and the little kids
- 3:19Speaker 1: come in and then his wife tries to sneak in
- 3:22Speaker 1: on her hands and feet to try to get because
- 3:24Speaker 1: of the three year old bounces in. She's the cutest
- 3:27Speaker 1: little kid with these glasses. And then the baby comes
- 3:30Speaker 1: in in the little walker thing on her, and then
- 3:33Speaker 1: the wife tries to sneak in on her hands and
- 3:35Speaker 1: feet and say, oh no, I'll make this.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Really I loved it. Yeah, it was great.
- 3:39Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:39Speaker 4: I saw something recently about where are they now?
- 3:41Speaker 3: And now that little girl is like an eleven year old, like, oh,
- 3:44Speaker 3: that's a shame.
- 3:45Speaker 4: The kids have to grow up after they do something.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I know. I had a conversation with my mum this
- 3:49Speaker 1: morning where she's in New Zelma trying to work out
- 3:52Speaker 1: exactly what years something was. My cousin's coming over from
- 3:54Speaker 1: the UK. I'm seeing them next week and I think
- 3:57Speaker 1: we saw them eighteen months ago. She thinks it was
- 3:59Speaker 1: too and half years ago. And you know, you do
- 4:01Speaker 1: that whole Was it before COVID after COVID month? So
- 4:03Speaker 1: when was COVID like two three years ago?
- 4:05Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 4:06Speaker 1: Five six and five years ago?
- 4:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that's crazy, isn't it.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It's just anyway, are.
- 4:12Speaker 2: We going to talk about what you're wearing?
- 4:13Speaker 1: Oh? Yes, we are going to talk. I did go
- 4:16Speaker 1: and get changed immediately before we came on. I had
- 4:19Speaker 1: my valid T shirt on the black and gold one,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and then I thought, I'm going to wear my Giants
- 4:24Speaker 1: T shirt today because Giants fans are doing it very tough.
- 4:28Speaker 1: The whole Giants organization is doing it tough at the moment.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Those players it's not working out the way they want,
- 4:35Speaker 1: so don't get mad at them. They've got a different plan.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Things are just not going exactly to plan at the moment.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I heard narrator interviewed maybe by you on the weekend,
- 4:45Speaker 1: and she was saying, I don't know quite why we're
- 4:47Speaker 1: not able to produce what we're doing in training in
- 4:51Speaker 1: a game situation. We have to try to work that out.
- 4:53Speaker 1: But yeah, Giants fans stay stay with it because you know, look,
- 4:59Speaker 1: the Firebirds have just one their first game in nearly
- 5:02Speaker 1: a year. Those fans are happy. All teams go through
- 5:06Speaker 1: ebbs and flows. I don't know. I think this is
- 5:09Speaker 1: an ebb, isn't It's an ebb when it goes out,
- 5:11Speaker 1: and it's a flow when it comes in. I should know,
- 5:14Speaker 1: my Elizabeth, I'm looking to you.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I think their season actually got summed up in their
- 5:19Speaker 2: warm up, so there was a bit of collateral damage
- 5:23Speaker 2: by two of the Giants doing the warm up and
- 5:26Speaker 2: Jane Watson was taken out. She was meant to be
- 5:28Speaker 2: starting at goalkeeper. They had to take her off and
- 5:31Speaker 2: do a sub at the late and the last second.
- 5:33Speaker 2: So I was like, oh god, who did you collide
- 5:35Speaker 2: with with Casey Adamson. It doesn't that just sum up
- 5:39Speaker 2: the year when you can't even get onto the court
- 5:41Speaker 2: from the warm up?
- 5:42Speaker 1: Oh my god, it does. But you know, this is
- 5:45Speaker 1: the giants tenth year. They've had four years of finals,
- 5:50Speaker 1: maybe even Grand finals in that like, this is not
- 5:53Speaker 1: you know, this is a This is a down time
- 5:56Speaker 1: and it does not mean that there won't be joy
- 5:58Speaker 1: this season. If there won't be a Premier this season,
- 6:01Speaker 1: that's pretty certain. But you know, there's always green shoots,
- 6:05Speaker 1: there's always things to be happy about, there's always things
- 6:07Speaker 1: to be proud of it and fans, you have a
- 6:10Speaker 1: job to do this and I like to see I
- 6:13Speaker 1: like to see the fans showing up doing their job.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I did not go to the game on Saturday because
- 6:18Speaker 1: and I do have a little bit of a beef
- 6:20Speaker 1: about this playing the two Sydney teams at Easter. Everyone
- 6:25Speaker 1: leaves Sydney at Easter, which was why it's so beautiful
- 6:27Speaker 1: to be here. I was at the beach this morning,
- 6:29Speaker 1: got a park. It was fantastic. But it's like two
- 6:32Speaker 1: games on two days when the Easter Show is on,
- 6:35Speaker 1: they run rugby Leed's impossible to get a park out there.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Maybe make this, Maybe make the Swifts and the Giants
- 6:41Speaker 1: play each other at Easter. So every fan who was
- 6:44Speaker 1: in New South Wales at Easter and wants to go
- 6:46Speaker 1: to netball, we'll go, and then we have two full
- 6:48Speaker 1: stadiums rather than what was a little bit sad.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I agree with you, excuse me, or be a little
- 6:53Speaker 2: bit lenient around the proofery of that as well. So
- 6:57Speaker 2: I took seven people to the game yesterday, dropped them
- 7:01Speaker 2: at the show so they had to be there at
- 7:02Speaker 2: nine thirty, so they weren't They're nice and early for
- 7:04Speaker 2: the show, and then I went and parked the family
- 7:07Speaker 2: track star in my car pike that I had, So
- 7:09Speaker 2: it all worked out well. But then they obviously have
- 7:11Speaker 2: a full morning having fun. They go and get showbags,
- 7:14Speaker 2: They get to the venue, they get told they can't
- 7:16Speaker 2: bring their showbags in.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I can't bring the showbags in.
- 7:20Speaker 2: What was supposed to do at this point with seven
- 7:23Speaker 2: of them hundreds of dollars of showbags, and the guys
- 7:25Speaker 2: had just popped them on the ground there, and you
- 7:28Speaker 2: can leave them outside the venue, so they kind of
- 7:32Speaker 2: just went look over there and they ran inside anyway.
- 7:34Speaker 2: But it was like that sort of stuff.
- 7:36Speaker 1: That's interesting. I hadn't sort of thought about that, obviously.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I smuggled, No, I didn't. Someone, do you remember two
- 7:44Speaker 1: years ago you were working on Mother's Day and I'll
- 7:46Speaker 1: take her a little half bottle of French champagne. And
- 7:48Speaker 1: then I realized I can't take booze into the venue,
- 7:52Speaker 1: even though no one was going to drink it there.
- 7:54Speaker 1: So I had to wrap it. And I had this
- 7:57Speaker 1: very elaborate story as to what it was, and it
- 8:00Speaker 1: was it was wrapped in a completely unidentifiable fashion, and
- 8:05Speaker 1: I had a story as to what it was. And
- 8:07Speaker 1: I'm not very good at bullshitting people in official capacities.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I'm not, and so I was very nervous. But I
- 8:14Speaker 1: really wanted to get you this bottle of fiddle, a
- 8:16Speaker 1: bottle of champai.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Anyway, I'm back, I can hear you.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Oh goody.
- 8:23Speaker 3: I've just been handed a set of headphones that are
- 8:26Speaker 3: completely not working. Different to the ones I thought I
- 8:30Speaker 3: were the ones that I own, so I don't know
- 8:33Speaker 3: where is Dredge these up from. But any who, the
- 8:35Speaker 3: search is ongoing, and I think the sniveling stop that
- 8:38Speaker 3: the search is ongoing.
- 8:39Speaker 4: So there you go.
- 8:41Speaker 1: We believe in you, Austin. I don't so what is
- 8:43Speaker 1: it where you've got a tin can and a piece
- 8:45Speaker 1: of stringth something.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Tieing away under the desk here to keep the electricity
- 8:50Speaker 3: on it.
- 8:50Speaker 4: It's all happening if you're on a north post. That's
- 8:54Speaker 4: morning good.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Anyway, what you missed was me telling Netball Australia how
- 8:57Speaker 1: to do the scheduling of the sun Curt Super Netbye
- 8:59Speaker 1: next next year, so you'd probably be happy to miss that.
- 9:01Speaker 4: Way, please thank you very much, but yeares yes. Anyway,
- 9:07Speaker 4: how did the Easter Buddy come to you guys?
- 9:08Speaker 2: He did, but he well, see, the Easter Bunny had
- 9:12Speaker 2: to reschedule his visit, so he came Saturday morning instead
- 9:15Speaker 2: of Sunday morning because Sunday morning was an early start
- 9:18Speaker 2: to get to netball. So he was very good to
- 9:21Speaker 2: us and a bit flexible. But I did also get
- 9:25Speaker 2: reminded on Friday night by my little mate that he
- 9:29Speaker 2: hadn't done anything.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Yet that the Easter Bunny hadn't done it.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I was about to go to sleep, and I get
- 9:36Speaker 2: a tapped up. I thought the Easter Bunny was coming
- 9:39Speaker 2: tomorrow morning. Yeah, oh, I haven't seen him anything yet,
- 9:43Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh, I had to get out of bed.
- 9:47Speaker 2: He normally leaves a trail on eggs from the door
- 9:51Speaker 2: and then to somewhere else in the house and then
- 9:54Speaker 2: there's a pile of stuff. Oh wow. But it's a
- 9:57Speaker 2: bit tricky when a kid doesn't like chocolate that much,
- 10:00Speaker 2: that is tough.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 2: The good thing though, is most people now have those
- 10:03Speaker 2: the plastic eggs that like are in two pieces, all
- 10:06Speaker 2: rabbits or chickens or something, and you can put other
- 10:09Speaker 2: lollies inside them and then put them out.
- 10:12Speaker 1: But my son sent me a clip of like what
- 10:14Speaker 1: to buy your child for what to ask the Easter
- 10:17Speaker 1: bunny to bring your child who was a little bit older,
- 10:21Speaker 1: And it was like cans of monster energy drink. Anything
- 10:25Speaker 1: to do with that.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Did he come to your house?
- 10:28Speaker 4: Did you do it?
- 10:29Speaker 2: God, you guys will be able to do the best
- 10:31Speaker 2: Easter hunt on your land.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 3: But it was pouring rain on Sunday, so there was
- 10:34Speaker 3: no easter to hunt. Anyway, the Easter bunny did come
- 10:36Speaker 3: and provisioned the children fairly well. And then I got
- 10:41Speaker 3: the question on Sunday morning, Mama, we're going to do
- 10:43Speaker 3: an Easter hunt, and I said, A, it's raining, and
- 10:45Speaker 3: B I've just spent the weekend organizing a two day
- 10:48Speaker 3: birthdays for Avigaza for you. There is no eastering hunt today,
- 10:52Speaker 3: so you know, I said, get on your dirt bike
- 10:55Speaker 3: and ride around. So that seemed to keep one of
- 10:58Speaker 3: them happy to go and.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Enjoy your birthday present and think about how hard done
- 11:02Speaker 1: by you are.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Then this one sends me a video of him on
- 11:06Speaker 2: his bike going around the property and said, by the
- 11:09Speaker 2: time you guys get back up here, he'll be able
- 11:12Speaker 2: to take Harper because he's like really good at it.
- 11:14Speaker 2: I'm like, ah, are you are you joking? She's like, nah,
- 11:17Speaker 2: he'd be far more responsible than letting everyone do it.
- 11:22Speaker 3: So Austin was riding around on his bike and he's
- 11:25Speaker 3: so cautious that he didn't actually get out of first
- 11:27Speaker 3: gear on the first day. Super cautious. And everyone's like,
- 11:31Speaker 3: I'd like a bike. I said, you are not getting
- 11:34Speaker 3: a bike. She's got a ute.
- 11:36Speaker 4: As she goes.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Well, I know, and I said, because every time we've
- 11:39Speaker 3: given you any contraption with wheels, you've had a spectacular crash.
- 11:43Speaker 3: So her push bike, she came off at going down
- 11:46Speaker 3: the driveway when she was five, at high speed and
- 11:50Speaker 3: our driveway has a very steep heel, and she came
- 11:52Speaker 3: off almost at the bottom of the hill and ripped
- 11:55Speaker 3: skin off her from head to toe. She did the
- 11:58Speaker 3: same on a scooter, was gooding atletics head down a
- 12:01Speaker 3: big hill and she came off it to forgot the
- 12:03Speaker 3: shared breaks, and then recently did a similar thing in
- 12:06Speaker 3: her car and ran into a fence post. So I
- 12:09Speaker 3: said to her, no, you are not riding a bona bike.
- 12:11Speaker 3: She's like, oh, okay, that's fair enough. But yeah, Catherine,
- 12:19Speaker 3: I think I think HAWF will definitely be up for
- 12:21Speaker 3: a double yep.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I mentioned it to her, you know, she said, well, no,
- 12:26Speaker 2: why not? Oh, because she's a scaredy cat. She's scaredy
- 12:30Speaker 2: cat more than me.
- 12:33Speaker 1: No, incorrect. She will go on the rides at the show.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Now that push you beyond your tro t.
- 12:43Speaker 2: True.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I have done a little bit of research. We have
- 12:47Speaker 1: in previous weeks talked about hot cross buns and my
- 12:49Speaker 1: children picking the cross off the top just made a
- 12:53Speaker 1: flower and water. It's just a paste. It's not a
- 12:55Speaker 1: nice thing. It's just it's a little bit of krusty
- 12:57Speaker 1: type stuff. But one of my favorite things on the
- 13:01Speaker 1: weekend is netball related, and that was I didn't go
- 13:05Speaker 1: to the game on Saturday because it was raining and
- 13:07Speaker 1: I couldn't be bother going out to Olympic Park twice,
- 13:09Speaker 1: so I got to watch the broadcast, which is wonderful,
- 13:12Speaker 1: love to see you in action. But one of my
- 13:15Speaker 1: favorite bits was when Dylan next Zip had to go
- 13:17Speaker 1: and do an interview with Gia, the Giants mascot, who
- 13:21Speaker 1: of course does not speak, and the Easter Bunny, who
- 13:25Speaker 1: does not speak, and he did a great job under
- 13:29Speaker 1: very trying circumstances. But oh, Matt, what's stuff to It' say?
- 13:35Speaker 1: This is what you hit the big time, Dylan. You're
- 13:40Speaker 1: interviewing the Easter Bunny and Ga the Giant and to
- 13:43Speaker 1: be fair, Easter Bunny global superstar, right, yeah, so big, yeah,
- 13:47Speaker 1: big interviewing Taylor Swift but her just standing there going
- 13:51Speaker 1: oh like I'll be bad, but not speaking at all
- 13:55Speaker 1: and with pants on and with pants on.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Funny though, because the first take they did, because we
- 13:59Speaker 2: were inside watching all this unfold and I was crying
- 14:02Speaker 2: and I was filming it all so good. But the
- 14:04Speaker 2: first take they did, they had kids in the background
- 14:07Speaker 2: doing the nutbush and then the macarina. I was like, yeah, nice,
- 14:11Speaker 2: let's put this one to hear this is the best.
- 14:13Speaker 2: So I'm disappointed that and didn't go to it. Yeah,
- 14:16Speaker 2: but yes, the interview then with the with the Easter
- 14:19Speaker 2: Buddy and the like. But then he did go and
- 14:21Speaker 2: talk to fans as well, and still struggled to get
- 14:24Speaker 2: stuff out of them.
- 14:25Speaker 1: So there was one lady who did a good chat
- 14:27Speaker 1: with him, and I'm sure she would be a dribbler
- 14:29Speaker 1: like she just she just seemed like a dribbler. She
- 14:32Speaker 1: knew how to have that. And then he went and
- 14:33Speaker 1: spoke to some other younger girls. They must have been
- 14:36Speaker 1: maybe fifteen or sixteen, and there's four of them, and
- 14:39Speaker 1: as usually happens, there's one who will go, all right,
- 14:41Speaker 1: I'll go. And then he wandered over to the hair
- 14:44Speaker 1: tent where the little girls were getting their hair done,
- 14:46Speaker 1: and just it was just cricket. It's like there were
- 14:50Speaker 1: tumble weeds going past and then he's like, Okay, back
- 14:54Speaker 1: to you, Cath and yeah, good save, well done, Dylan.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I think the Kelpies a player today, but that won't
- 15:00Speaker 1: be nearly as hard as what you've already done this weekend.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:03Speaker 3: In the good old days, when the project was on television,
- 15:06Speaker 3: we often used to send whoever the comedian out and
- 15:08Speaker 3: when I finished in a couple of years before it
- 15:11Speaker 3: finished up, Sam Torton was the comedian, but before that
- 15:13Speaker 3: there was Pete Hellier. So yeah, a good good comedians
- 15:17Speaker 3: and we'd send them out to do or the show
- 15:19Speaker 3: would send them out to do vox pops on certain things,
- 15:21Speaker 3: and vox pops.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Are always great because a bit, like Dylan discovered, you
- 15:25Speaker 4: just never know what you're going to get.
- 15:27Speaker 3: But Australians are always a little bit it's hard to
- 15:30Speaker 3: get Australians going, like we trust the microphone into their face.
- 15:33Speaker 3: So the comedians would always see if that could find Americans.
- 15:35Speaker 3: It's like all Americans are camera ready, right, anytime you
- 15:39Speaker 3: get American, they are ready. They've got the grab, they've
- 15:43Speaker 3: got enthusiasm. And you see this, you know when you
- 15:45Speaker 3: watch American sports and you see stuff going on in
- 15:49Speaker 3: the stadium and the camera pans to them and they
- 15:51Speaker 3: immediately get up and start dancing and putting on a show.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Australians are exactly the opposite. So what Dylan needed was
- 15:57Speaker 3: a couple of American netball fans. Yeah, the moment you
- 16:01Speaker 3: put a bigrophone in front of their face, they are
- 16:03Speaker 3: there to put on a show, where as Australians are
- 16:06Speaker 3: a bit like ma, no thanks mate.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Well tell you who else is ready to put
- 16:10Speaker 1: on a show in the stadium. And that's your daughter
- 16:13Speaker 1: at the game yesterday. I'm looking at Catherine again. This
- 16:16Speaker 1: is an audio medium, Carolyn, So remember that your daughter
- 16:20Speaker 1: can at the Swift's game yesterday. Every second time I'm
- 16:23Speaker 1: looking up at the big screen, there she is up,
- 16:26Speaker 1: dancing with her friends, having a great time. So maybe
- 16:30Speaker 1: Dylan next time going talk to harpunt.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Oh god, yes, you'll give you a stackful. Even on
- 16:36Speaker 2: the broadcast, We're about to go to halftime and I'm
- 16:38Speaker 2: throwing to the break and it's the four of them
- 16:41Speaker 2: as well. On that I'm like, oh my god, I
- 16:42Speaker 2: see enough.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Of her, believe me. Be that's just too fun.
- 16:47Speaker 1: To tell you something I didn't like about yesterday's broadcast.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I'm very happy for her. Paige Hadley back in commentary,
- 16:53Speaker 1: which was terrific, although some dickhead on another not our
- 16:56Speaker 1: Facebook group, but some netball related Facebook group saying it's
- 16:59Speaker 1: a grace that she can commentate a game for her
- 17:02Speaker 1: own team. It's like she's not the umpire, you idiot,
- 17:05Speaker 1: Like she has no influence over the game. But Paige
- 17:08Speaker 1: Hadley yesterday, one month, two months after having had a baby,
- 17:13Speaker 1: looks better than any other day I have had on
- 17:17Speaker 1: this earth. Oh, justin credif.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Tully Tully, her little boy came to the green room beforehand.
- 17:25Speaker 2: He is gorgeous, and so she's doing the breastfeeding everything else,
- 17:30Speaker 2: and then pops down he's six weeks now six weeks,
- 17:33Speaker 2: and then you're right, and then she just goes and
- 17:35Speaker 2: rocks it. But for those punters that think they know everything,
- 17:40Speaker 2: when players or specialist coaches or whatever work with us
- 17:44Speaker 2: in the common tary, they don't have is open to
- 17:48Speaker 2: what's happening in the team huddles. So they can't listen
- 17:51Speaker 2: to that because teams complain about that fair enough if
- 17:55Speaker 2: that's their thing, so we can hear that, but they
- 17:57Speaker 2: can't hear that stuff Okay, yeah, it makes no difference.
- 18:01Speaker 1: But even if they could, I know, well, she's not
- 18:04Speaker 1: you know, she's not the umpire. She has no influence
- 18:07Speaker 1: over what's happening in the game now.
- 18:09Speaker 2: But nor can she run over and go Briannie, Brannie,
- 18:11Speaker 2: I just heard this. She's in the middle of the game,
- 18:13Speaker 2: she's working, so that doesn't happen. But also there's precautions
- 18:17Speaker 2: taken so that they cannot hear anything more than they're
- 18:20Speaker 2: supposed to.
- 18:21Speaker 3: But that's your professional integrity, right, So if you get
- 18:25Speaker 3: a role doing sidelines, you to do it to the
- 18:28Speaker 3: best of your ability. You're not going to use that
- 18:30Speaker 3: moment to leverage information that you pick up from one
- 18:32Speaker 3: team into the other team, even if it's your team, right.
- 18:36Speaker 3: So I mean all these players who come in and
- 18:38Speaker 3: do commentary that have half an eye on what they're
- 18:40Speaker 3: going to do when they retire, and commentating, as we
- 18:43Speaker 3: know Catherine is a great job, right, it's an awesome gig.
- 18:46Speaker 3: So as if you're going to use your one moment
- 18:49Speaker 3: to go, oh, I'm going to get all this information
- 18:51Speaker 3: and take it back to.
- 18:52Speaker 4: My club that they're going to like, your club's going
- 18:55Speaker 4: to be able to find it if you're done, you
- 18:58Speaker 4: do it right.
- 18:59Speaker 3: It's just, you know, you got to give people a
- 19:01Speaker 3: bit of credit for having professional integrity about what they do.
- 19:06Speaker 1: And props to Kate Maloney also commentating on the weekend that.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Was and we had Joey Harvey.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Yes, I turned to tell and I heard this voice.
- 19:15Speaker 3: I'm like, I know that voice, but that voice is
- 19:17Speaker 3: in the wrong spot. Where's that voice coming from?
- 19:20Speaker 1: That's so funny. I did exactly the same thing. I
- 19:22Speaker 1: was in the kitchen. I'm like, who is that? Who's that? Commented?
- 19:25Speaker 1: Took me a moment to put it together. On the
- 19:27Speaker 1: bus on the way out to Olympic Park, you say,
- 19:30Speaker 1: because I couldn't get parking, so caught the special event
- 19:33Speaker 1: bus and it was chockers and so I couldn't sit
- 19:37Speaker 1: with the family. I sat sat next to a lady
- 19:39Speaker 1: orso in red and the kids were sort of sitting separately,
- 19:43Speaker 1: And at one stage I just lean over and said, Dottie,
- 19:44Speaker 1: just go over there, because more people were getting on.
- 19:46Speaker 1: It's like you go and squeeze in next to next
- 19:48Speaker 1: to Lewis. And then this lady recognized my voice, the
- 19:51Speaker 1: one who was sitting next to me, you know, Hello,
- 19:53Speaker 1: Helen the drib blerd nice to me. So she hadn't
- 19:56Speaker 1: pegged me when I was sitting next to her, but
- 19:59Speaker 1: it wasn't until she heard my voice. So then she went, oh, Dottie,
- 20:01Speaker 1: I know that name. So yeah, that was nice to
- 20:05Speaker 1: the game.
- 20:06Speaker 2: How grown love.
- 20:08Speaker 1: But you know, maybe we should have a quick break
- 20:10Speaker 1: and then come back and officially talk about round four. Okay,
- 20:27Speaker 1: So netball happened on the weekend, and netball happened in
- 20:31Speaker 1: good and bad ways depending on who your team is.
- 20:35Speaker 1: But there was a lot of a lot of really
- 20:37Speaker 1: interesting stuff. I've got to say, the second quarter of
- 20:41Speaker 1: the Swift's Fever game is the most bored I have
- 20:44Speaker 1: ever been watching a game of netball ever.
- 20:46Speaker 2: It was actually a bit of a head scratcher, wasn't it,
- 20:49Speaker 2: Because it was maybe one or two passes and then
- 20:51Speaker 2: a long ball every time, and I'm thinking, why is
- 20:54Speaker 2: no one stopping that long ball?
- 20:56Speaker 1: And it was just sort of score. It was just
- 21:00Speaker 1: it was like a sort of tennis match that that
- 21:03Speaker 1: whole quarter there was, and then after it got exciting
- 21:07Speaker 1: in a whole other way if you're a Swift that
- 21:10Speaker 1: it was. It was just it was really interesting and
- 21:12Speaker 1: to see the two holding shooters. You know, it really is.
- 21:16Speaker 1: It's great when you've got a game where there are
- 21:18Speaker 1: when there's a you know, at least one end has
- 21:20Speaker 1: a moving circle, right.
- 21:21Speaker 2: But how's the numbers from Romelda or Aken George? So
- 21:24Speaker 2: before the game, I was watching her warm up, to
- 21:28Speaker 2: which there's not much warm up if I'm completely honest.
- 21:31Speaker 2: She had scaffolding four days, clearly heavily strapped, and then
- 21:37Speaker 2: those massive, big black it didn't look like compression garments.
- 21:41Speaker 2: It looked a lot thicker than that. Whatever they were
- 21:43Speaker 2: on both legs doesn't warm up like the rest of
- 21:46Speaker 2: the team does, all this all this other stuff on
- 21:48Speaker 2: the side. And when she did run, looked like she
- 21:51Speaker 2: was really struggling, And I thought, do you know what,
- 21:54Speaker 2: this is brilliant because she, looking at her right now,
- 21:58Speaker 2: won't beat my record for the most played because she's struggling.
- 22:01Speaker 2: And then she gets on the court and smashes it
- 22:06Speaker 2: and has her biggest haul ever in the game, Like
- 22:10Speaker 2: I'm not far at. I thought for a moment I
- 22:12Speaker 2: might keep my record, but there's no chance she's staying
- 22:14Speaker 2: better than ever.
- 22:15Speaker 1: She's three or four games away equaling your record.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and this is in the National League. Yes, un
- 22:24Speaker 2: like Liz Ellis, I don't want my record broken. Of course,
- 22:26Speaker 2: I really don't.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Bullshit that people think they want to have their records break.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so, I mean, if anyone's going to do,
- 22:32Speaker 2: it'd be great. That she's been around forever in a day,
- 22:35Speaker 2: Liz wants her to keep playing because then Liz remains relevant.
- 22:38Speaker 2: She said that before, whilst there's still a current player
- 22:41Speaker 2: playing that you played against, and I want her to
- 22:44Speaker 2: retire away.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I was blown away. Yes, actually when I was
- 22:47Speaker 3: watching her, thinking, oh my god, she's thirty seven, so
- 22:51Speaker 3: I've played against her. I think I retired ten years ago. Narrator,
- 22:54Speaker 3: I retired from almost nineteen years ago. And she's coplaying,
- 23:00Speaker 3: you're going strong, and when you watch her like, it's
- 23:03Speaker 3: fascinating that she doesn't. I love that Fever acknowledged the
- 23:08Speaker 3: fact that she's thirty seven, she's had a kid, like,
- 23:12Speaker 3: she's had a really long career which has taken a
- 23:14Speaker 3: toll on her body. And rather than say no, you
- 23:18Speaker 3: have to do the same warm up as everybody else,
- 23:20Speaker 3: and you have to do giving me the same as
- 23:21Speaker 3: everybody else, they let her go because she knows her
- 23:24Speaker 3: body better than better than anyone. But she's so good
- 23:27Speaker 3: at her positioning. And when I think back to when
- 23:30Speaker 3: she started, I love playing against it because I could
- 23:32Speaker 3: push her around to where I wanted her to go.
- 23:34Speaker 3: And Irene mad Night was the same. And then Irene
- 23:37Speaker 3: wised up when she went to New Zealand and got
- 23:39Speaker 3: some coaching around how to hold. And Ramelda's obviously got
- 23:43Speaker 3: great coaching over the years and has got better and better.
- 23:45Speaker 3: And then you watch her yesterday and she gave Teagan
- 23:48Speaker 3: O'shannessy a bit of a lesson in because Teagan's really
- 23:53Speaker 3: good at jumping around and Ramelda was just so clever
- 23:56Speaker 3: into repositioning. She didn't try and continually reposition She just
- 24:00Speaker 3: position when she had to and set up the space
- 24:02Speaker 3: for the ball like It's so clever and so efficient.
- 24:05Speaker 2: And it was effortless. The pass obviously in was silver platter.
- 24:11Speaker 2: It was amazing service she was getting from Glasgow in
- 24:14Speaker 2: particularly yesterday, but she barely had to move to take it.
- 24:18Speaker 2: She was just so experienced and classy. She ended up
- 24:21Speaker 2: with sixty seven sixty seven from seventy six. Wow, that's
- 24:25Speaker 2: like a ridiculous amount of shots put up.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and her right, Yeah, like they lost Janille Fowler,
- 24:34Speaker 3: so foul out Nemba. But like in bringing in Ramelder,
- 24:38Speaker 3: you don't have to change any of your structure, like
- 24:41Speaker 3: none of their attacking.
- 24:41Speaker 1: She don't have to change the structure. But I mean
- 24:44Speaker 1: they really, you know, recognizing that her body is it
- 24:48Speaker 1: is nearing the end of its professional life.
- 24:53Speaker 4: She's fifty.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Bloody not I want to she can play two more
- 24:58Speaker 2: games and then she needs to have a seat.
- 25:00Speaker 1: If she's going to smash the record, you might as
- 25:02Speaker 1: well let her smash it right, keep going whatever and
- 25:05Speaker 1: then make it hard then and then there's Ramelda, and
- 25:07Speaker 1: then there's you, and then there's daylight. But like looking
- 25:10Speaker 1: at how Alice teag neiled Sasha Glasgow and Kransberg's Yeah,
- 25:16Speaker 1: crans which cransby Jordan and Zoe playing Jordan's Cransburg, Like
- 25:20Speaker 1: how they are playing and they have to be so
- 25:23Speaker 1: fast and so physical, and it's just it's great, you know,
- 25:27Speaker 1: they've it's such a great strategy that they have set
- 25:31Speaker 1: up to go, how do we how do we use
- 25:33Speaker 1: this resource to best effect? It's like, man, good job, guys.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Of course Swift's had no Sarah Klow how much difference
- 25:41Speaker 2: would she have made. I'm not sure a whole heap.
- 25:43Speaker 2: I think half of the Swift's problem was their attack.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Yeah stuff, certainly maybe could have slowed up West Coast Fever.
- 25:51Speaker 2: And there's seventy seven goals they got, but tigan Oshanness
- 25:54Speaker 2: has been their best offensively for them all year anyway,
- 25:56Speaker 2: so I think it was really just down the other
- 25:58Speaker 2: end of the court they struggled. But how's Sarah Clow
- 26:01Speaker 2: had not missed a game in ten seasons since she
- 26:03Speaker 2: joined the Swifts, has never missed a game. Oh wow,
- 26:06Speaker 2: isn't that unbelievable? One hundred and forty consecutive games and
- 26:10Speaker 2: it's a quad quaddas just at a quad knock at
- 26:13Speaker 2: training like a corky or something. So she should be
- 26:15Speaker 2: okay for next week. But that unbelievable. To play that
- 26:19Speaker 2: many games in a row.
- 26:20Speaker 4: It's impressive.
- 26:21Speaker 1: It's crazy good We missed you, Sarah.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah it was.
- 26:25Speaker 1: It was. Apart from that one quarter where I was
- 26:28Speaker 1: quite bored, it was a great game. And yeah, it
- 26:32Speaker 1: triuly date my hat off to Fever. They are looking good.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I did not think they I did not think they
- 26:37Speaker 1: would be this good this season. But speaking of injuries,
- 26:42Speaker 1: I have a question. A lot of the key we
- 26:45Speaker 1: inputs seem to be going down injured at the moment.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Is this an intensity of a competition that they are
- 26:53Speaker 1: now in that is testing them in a way that
- 26:56Speaker 1: they've not been tested before?
- 26:58Speaker 2: Highly likely, I think. Think even the preseason is longer
- 27:03Speaker 2: than their season was all together, that alone, and then
- 27:07Speaker 2: of course the intensity of the training sessions. Full time
- 27:10Speaker 2: professional athletes here, so they are doing more of those
- 27:13Speaker 2: training sessions, and of course the game is another level altogether.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I think probably with the exception of Kelly Jackson who
- 27:19Speaker 2: got a smack to the schnoz two weeks ago and
- 27:22Speaker 2: she was ruled out at the eleventh hour for the
- 27:24Speaker 2: Giants Firebirds clash as well on the weekend. But otherwise, yes,
- 27:28Speaker 2: I mean, could well be could well be the issue.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Don't know that for sure, but it looks like that,
- 27:32Speaker 2: doesn't it.
- 27:33Speaker 1: It was sad to see Jane Watson go down. Obviously
- 27:35Speaker 1: disappointing that Maddy Gordon hasn't been able to take the
- 27:38Speaker 1: court I think since round one. I think she played
- 27:40Speaker 1: round one, didn't she? Yeah? Yeah. And Kelly Jackson that
- 27:43Speaker 1: was a real surprise wasn't it.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Well, you know what the most annoying thing about that was.
- 27:47Speaker 2: I saw that, and then I changed my tips.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I did want to talk about this because you tipped
- 27:53Speaker 1: the Giants by three to win.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yes, but only because I changed it as soon as
- 27:57Speaker 2: I saw the Kelly Jackson news thought that the Giants
- 28:00Speaker 2: are in this now minus her.
- 28:03Speaker 1: So in the pre game, Dylan next zip also tip
- 28:07Speaker 1: the Giants, Joe Hart and tip the Giants, But I
- 28:10Speaker 1: think that's a bit of a heart thing for her,
- 28:13Speaker 1: and you tip the Firebirds at that moment.
- 28:16Speaker 2: But that was just even things up. No, So yes,
- 28:18Speaker 2: I learned my lesson because then I got to the
- 28:20Speaker 2: when it got to the Swift's Fever game and I
- 28:22Speaker 2: saw Sarah was ruled out, I was about to change
- 28:24Speaker 2: my tips again, but Nap, stick to what you've done already.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Thank goodness. But how good was that game? So both
- 28:30Speaker 2: of those sides going for their first win of the season.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Nobody would have expected a twenty three goal difference between
- 28:38Speaker 2: seventh and eighth on the ladder. That's insane, and Firebirds
- 28:43Speaker 2: were unbelievably outstanding.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Yeah, so do you think that will translate into being
- 28:47Speaker 1: that good in coming weeks. Who are they playing?
- 28:50Speaker 2: No, I don't. Short answer is no, because the week
- 28:53Speaker 2: before they played the Thunderbirds and they're terrible, and they
- 28:56Speaker 2: started the same seven and I thought that was a
- 28:59Speaker 2: terrible because the seven that had played the Thunderbirds the
- 29:03Speaker 2: week before only scored nine in the opening quarter. But
- 29:07Speaker 2: God love Kittie Wills for backing them in to give
- 29:11Speaker 2: them another opportunity, because then they produce the goods and
- 29:14Speaker 2: they were outstanding in that opening quarter. So you know,
- 29:17Speaker 2: and this is the thing I have to say, I think,
- 29:19Speaker 2: LIZI you'll know in commentary you've got to kind of
- 29:22Speaker 2: say what you think everyone's talking about, right, And so
- 29:25Speaker 2: I was very vocal at the start of the game
- 29:27Speaker 2: about that being a bad decision and why wouldn't you
- 29:30Speaker 2: start Elsa siff sand Hold after such a great game
- 29:32Speaker 2: last year and blah blah blah, And then of course
- 29:35Speaker 2: the fire Beds go and kill it in the first
- 29:37Speaker 2: fifteen minutes and for the game. So then you've got
- 29:39Speaker 2: to eat your words. And I'm like, well, that's probably
- 29:42Speaker 2: what a lot of people will think.
- 29:43Speaker 1: And did you hear she did give you a bit
- 29:44Speaker 1: of yours, cas And.
- 29:46Speaker 2: I love that, but I love that. Good on us,
- 29:49Speaker 2: seriously love that. And it was great because even when
- 29:52Speaker 2: we had to do our cross to her at three
- 29:53Speaker 2: quarter time, I basically said, how good is it when
- 29:57Speaker 2: you're starting seven do such a good job, you know,
- 30:00Speaker 2: like you stick with them?
- 30:00Speaker 1: And then and she was quite gracious. Then she said,
- 30:04Speaker 1: hiind insight to it. Yeah, so who are they playing next?
- 30:07Speaker 2: Well, giants have got thunderbirds and firebirds have got fever.
- 30:11Speaker 4: Okay, in perfect good game.
- 30:13Speaker 3: I'm just going to pick up on you on your point, Catherine.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I think like your job in commentary is actually to
- 30:18Speaker 3: take a position, and but the position that you take
- 30:22Speaker 3: as a commentator is different from the position you take
- 30:24Speaker 3: as a coach, Like the coach's job. We used to
- 30:27Speaker 3: instill confidence, make changes where you think they're necessary. But
- 30:32Speaker 3: to your point, like if you if you believe in
- 30:35Speaker 3: your starting seven and you think they just need to
- 30:36Speaker 3: work out of it and and have the opportunity to
- 30:39Speaker 3: fix it, that's a very different proposition too if you're
- 30:41Speaker 3: a commentator going, I don't think this is a best
- 30:44Speaker 3: starting seven, right, so you sort of get You've got
- 30:47Speaker 3: to remember like it's hard when you first start commentating too,
- 30:49Speaker 3: because you you're so used to thinking like a captain
- 30:52Speaker 3: or a coach, then you've got to go into commentary mode,
- 30:55Speaker 3: which is which is a little bit different. I just
- 30:57Speaker 3: want to pick up on the Giants thing that you
- 30:58Speaker 3: spoke about at the start of the podcast, Carolt about
- 31:02Speaker 3: how hard it is when your team's down. I want
- 31:04Speaker 3: to give you a little bit of context. Do you
- 31:06Speaker 3: remember the Thunderbirds, like they are all conquering now, but
- 31:09Speaker 3: they went through a period in twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen
- 31:14Speaker 3: they lost twenty seven games in a row Dan Ryan, Yeah,
- 31:20Speaker 3: under Dan Ryan, and there were some organizational sort of
- 31:24Speaker 3: issues that were addressed. And the Thunderbirds are now sort
- 31:28Speaker 3: of you almost forget that because there's such a powerhouse
- 31:32Speaker 3: and there've been such a powerhouse for its several years
- 31:34Speaker 3: now that they were they were the easy beats of
- 31:38Speaker 3: the competition, what five years ago, six years ago, So
- 31:42Speaker 3: like things can change.
- 31:43Speaker 1: And yeah's and that is so that's great, and it
- 31:46Speaker 1: is It is cyclical the game, isn't it. You can't
- 31:48Speaker 1: You're going to be boring if one team is always
- 31:51Speaker 1: on top.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Yeah, they're still so good stuff for the Giants as well,
- 31:54Speaker 2: Like they had nineteen deflections that's massive. They're just not
- 31:58Speaker 2: winning ball. But jode awn Ward was amazing again, she
- 32:02Speaker 2: was their best. They didn't start. They won the last
- 32:05Speaker 2: quarter of that game as well, so you know, they
- 32:08Speaker 2: obviously had the issue with Jane Watson at the start
- 32:10Speaker 2: of the game. That didn't help their cause. But I
- 32:13Speaker 2: think there's still lots of stuff they can take out
- 32:15Speaker 2: of that. It's just the trouble for them is that
- 32:17Speaker 2: they're going to face the Thunderbirds the following week.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Yeah, look, it's not going to be an easy season
- 32:22Speaker 1: for them. But I think there's a lot of a
- 32:24Speaker 1: lot of good stuff there. I think, you know, Aaron
- 32:26Speaker 1: O'Brien being told you're going on right now as key part,
- 32:29Speaker 1: you know, no chance to get her head in that space.
- 32:31Speaker 1: I think I thought she did a fantastic job. The
- 32:33Speaker 1: Firebirds tried to win that fourth quarter. It was not
- 32:36Speaker 1: like they went foot off the pedal. It doesn't matter,
- 32:38Speaker 1: you know, that was what they were talking about in
- 32:40Speaker 1: their huddle. So the Giants won that fourth quarter. They
- 32:42Speaker 1: weren't they weren't gifted that. But I think we have
- 32:45Speaker 1: to talk about are the MAVs the best team? Are
- 32:50Speaker 1: they going to be the best team in history not
- 32:52Speaker 1: to make the finals. It's I know it's still early,
- 32:55Speaker 1: but it's not that early. We're nearly a third of
- 32:57Speaker 1: the way through the season, and they just can't so close.
- 33:01Speaker 1: There's so much amazing stuff happening out of them, and
- 33:04Speaker 1: they've just had so they've lost what They've lost two
- 33:07Speaker 1: games by a goal each. And this last week they
- 33:10Speaker 1: tested the Thunderbirds. They're the first team to really make
- 33:13Speaker 1: the Thunderbirds have to kind of think and dig in
- 33:17Speaker 1: and it's like and they're sitting in the same place
- 33:19Speaker 1: on the ladder as the Swifts, and it's just I
- 33:23Speaker 1: just ah, man, it must be so frustrated, so tantalizing
- 33:28Speaker 1: to be a MAVs fan because it's going to happen
- 33:32Speaker 1: right there. Well, it will sensational soon.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 3: I think that's actually a good call, Like if they
- 33:38Speaker 3: don't make the finals, it's going to be phenomenal. I
- 33:40Speaker 3: think we talked before the season about our top four
- 33:42Speaker 3: predictions and I said, am I going to regret not
- 33:45Speaker 3: having the MAVs in there? I don't know if you
- 33:47Speaker 3: picked the Fever to be sitting in that top four.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I did not pick Fever. I picked the MAVs, and
- 33:52Speaker 1: I did say that I don't think there would be
- 33:54Speaker 1: a new South Wales team in the finals and hoping
- 33:57Speaker 1: to be wrong, but.
- 34:00Speaker 2: They're both the bottom of the ladder now after the weekend.
- 34:03Speaker 4: Crazy massive issue there, So.
- 34:08Speaker 2: No, I agree they were amazing and you know they've
- 34:10Speaker 2: forced Thunderbirds into plenty of errors. When a couple of
- 34:13Speaker 2: weeks ago Thunderbirds had a record low error rate for
- 34:16Speaker 2: a game. They're out twenty two on the weekend, so
- 34:19Speaker 2: they're making mistakes and I think people, really Mads in particular,
- 34:23Speaker 2: were showing where they were vulnerable. So I think a
- 34:26Speaker 2: lot of teams would be smart to watch that game
- 34:28Speaker 2: back and see where they can be exploited.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Catherine, I've spoke about unique Plavi being bored on enough
- 34:34Speaker 3: to be like the change up shooter for the Sun
- 34:38Speaker 3: called super Shot. Do you think that their coach will
- 34:41Speaker 3: continue to go with the change or at some point,
- 34:45Speaker 3: as you go, right, I'm just going to not like,
- 34:47Speaker 3: at what.
- 34:47Speaker 4: Point do you?
- 34:49Speaker 3: Again, from a commentary point of view, yougo, well, that's
- 34:51Speaker 3: not working. But I wonder if he's got a bit
- 34:54Speaker 3: of a method that Look, it's going to take us
- 34:56Speaker 3: four or five rounds to actually know this, But We're
- 34:58Speaker 3: going to be really dangerous because you know, the defensive
- 35:02Speaker 3: line won't get a chance to figure out what to
- 35:04Speaker 3: do when we'll be making changes faster than the defenders
- 35:06Speaker 3: can adjust. Like, at what point do you think that
- 35:09Speaker 3: he needs to either sort of pick and stick or
- 35:12Speaker 3: is he still in a process where he can go.
- 35:15Speaker 3: I'm going to keep changing it up until it works.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Look again, we don't know what goes on at training,
- 35:20Speaker 2: but it was interesting on the weekend. Bacheldor played the
- 35:22Speaker 2: full game and then Shimona, Nelson and Polavi shared the
- 35:27Speaker 2: load a bit more. There's no issue with changing players,
- 35:31Speaker 2: I don't think in the Power five time, because you've
- 35:33Speaker 2: got to have your experts out there. But I think
- 35:36Speaker 2: we saw what was the game yesterday. It must have
- 35:38Speaker 2: been towards the end of the Fever Swifts game. You
- 35:43Speaker 2: saw Glasgow shooting the long shots, but then the rebound
- 35:48Speaker 2: when they were missed going straight to Aike and George,
- 35:51Speaker 2: And it was happening with the Swifts as well. If
- 35:52Speaker 2: Helen Howes we was missing, Wicky was cleaning them up.
- 35:55Speaker 2: That's I think where it can be really good. I
- 35:57Speaker 2: think the problem is trying to find that one shooter. Yeah,
- 36:02Speaker 2: and so the changes in that power five time fine,
- 36:05Speaker 2: But as we touched on last week, I think you
- 36:07Speaker 2: have to give them more than five minutes. So there's
- 36:09Speaker 2: got to be regular touches throughout the game before you
- 36:12Speaker 2: throw them in cold to start draining long shots. But
- 36:16Speaker 2: I mean, is that a minute before, is it a
- 36:18Speaker 2: couple of minutes before? I don't know. But again we
- 36:20Speaker 2: don't know what structures are happening at training. But I
- 36:22Speaker 2: do believe you're right. The more this happens throughout the season,
- 36:26Speaker 2: the more they get used to the expectation, and then
- 36:29Speaker 2: hopefully by a second half of the season and finals,
- 36:32Speaker 2: if they get there, that's a well awed machine in
- 36:34Speaker 2: those changes.
- 36:36Speaker 1: I think this leads into something I wanted to ask
- 36:38Speaker 1: you about too, what's happening with Lightning and Gabby Sinclair,
- 36:41Speaker 1: Like she isn't she there? Sort of wasn't she the recruit?
- 36:44Speaker 1: She's a genius at bluddy two pointers? And I just, yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 1: I don't think I was surprised to not see them
- 36:52Speaker 1: using her more, and particularly when it started to really
- 36:55Speaker 1: get away from them in the fourth quarter like that,
- 36:57Speaker 1: You know, that was that was a really good game.
- 37:00Speaker 1: That Vixen's Lightning game and then it ran away. If
- 37:03Speaker 1: you haven't seen the game, I don't think the score
- 37:05Speaker 1: reflects what a competitive game it was and how close
- 37:09Speaker 1: it was for a very long time. Lightning led for
- 37:11Speaker 1: quite a lot of that game, and then Vixen's were
- 37:13Speaker 1: able to kind of peg it back to equal. But
- 37:15Speaker 1: I'm just I'm surprised not to see more use of
- 37:19Speaker 1: her in that position. Again, it's sort of like, come on,
- 37:23Speaker 1: do three minutes and now you're off, and now you're
- 37:25Speaker 1: off for the rest of the game.
- 37:26Speaker 2: And that could still be load management because we're not
- 37:28Speaker 2: a member. She missed a could be injury. Not sure
- 37:32Speaker 2: about that, but yeah, you're right, it only that last
- 37:34Speaker 2: quarter was twenty two to fourteen. But what pat Kira
- 37:38Speaker 2: Austin seven super shots, Yeah, that's fourteen points, just boom.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 37:44Speaker 1: There was a bit of an interview with her after
- 37:46Speaker 1: the game because she was the player of the match,
- 37:48Speaker 1: and she was talking about how much she's loving having
- 37:50Speaker 1: Karen Berger, who is one of the key imports playing
- 37:53Speaker 1: for Lightning, so she's just saying how much it's helping
- 37:57Speaker 1: her and she obviously has her diamonds had on when
- 38:00Speaker 1: she's thinking this, but how much it's helping her being
- 38:02Speaker 1: able to play against Karen Berger more obviously in the
- 38:06Speaker 1: lead up to the international season. It's like, yeah, I
- 38:08Speaker 1: think that's it is great And obviously that benefit then
- 38:11Speaker 1: extends to the New Zealand. Yeah, yeah, I mean that
- 38:15Speaker 1: goes both ways. But I think that is a really
- 38:17Speaker 1: a really interesting thing because you know, again I'm seeing
- 38:20Speaker 1: on Facebook, not in our group, which is full of
- 38:22Speaker 1: reasonable smart people, but in other netball chat groups about
- 38:25Speaker 1: sort of talking about well taking jobs away from taking
- 38:28Speaker 1: jobs away from Australian girls. And I totally see that
- 38:32Speaker 1: point of view, but the standard of the game lifts
- 38:36Speaker 1: for everybody.
- 38:37Speaker 2: That standard of the game yesterday too unbelievable. They had
- 38:39Speaker 2: twenty turnovers in total for the game for both sides.
- 38:44Speaker 2: That's really suitable for two quality sides. Unbelievable considering the
- 38:49Speaker 2: Mavericks and the Tea Birds game had nearly fifty. Yeah,
- 38:52Speaker 2: that was a great, really unbelievable.
- 38:55Speaker 1: So Daryl the stats Man did point out that the
- 38:58Speaker 1: fifty five points that the Giants got would have been
- 39:00Speaker 1: enough to draw with the Thunderbirds. Now, they probably wouldn't
- 39:03Speaker 1: have got fifty five against the Thunderbirds. But it's interesting
- 39:05Speaker 1: what seems like a really low score for a team
- 39:08Speaker 1: in another game that's enough to win.
- 39:11Speaker 3: So yeah, on Thunderbirds, defensive intensity means that they don't
- 39:15Speaker 3: have to score a mountin of goals. Katherine Cara Conen
- 39:19Speaker 3: been pushed out of her customary usual comfort zone of
- 39:24Speaker 3: goal shooter and into goal attack. I think that happened
- 39:27Speaker 3: to you when you went to Perth years ago. How
- 39:31Speaker 3: do you think she's going like you've I mean, given
- 39:34Speaker 3: that you've been in that situation before, you know how
- 39:36Speaker 3: hard it is. It's not just a matter of running
- 39:39Speaker 3: a little bit more. It changes up your entry to
- 39:41Speaker 3: the circle, You're timing everything like that, would you? I mean,
- 39:45Speaker 3: I think she's doing well when I was watching it yesterday.
- 39:48Speaker 2: No, I do too, I really do, because there were
- 39:50Speaker 2: so many questions around that.
- 39:52Speaker 1: I remember.
- 39:53Speaker 2: It happened to Sophie Garban too, when she was at
- 39:55Speaker 2: the Magpies and they had Shimona Nelson behind her. She
- 39:59Speaker 2: had to go out a goal attack and she wasn't
- 40:02Speaker 2: playing that well at goal attack Sophie Garbin, but at
- 40:05Speaker 2: the end of the day it helped her understand that
- 40:08Speaker 2: goal attack role. When she went back to play shooter
- 40:11Speaker 2: or gave her another string to her bow with the
- 40:13Speaker 2: diamonds as well. And I think that's what this will
- 40:15Speaker 2: do for Ka Rakkonen. It means that Stacy Marinkovic has
- 40:18Speaker 2: got a really viable option, another option at goal attack
- 40:22Speaker 2: if she needs one when she gets to the comm
- 40:24Speaker 2: Dames and stuff. Now I'm loving what I'm seeing from her.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's exciting.
- 40:29Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 40:30Speaker 1: I need to give a quick update on the valadriblers
- 40:33Speaker 1: tip in comp where we've got to this week. There's
- 40:35Speaker 1: been some movement. It's been an exciting week obviously. So
- 40:39Speaker 1: you'll remember in Catherine's little video tip last week that
- 40:43Speaker 1: she did say that she was going for the Firebirds,
- 40:45Speaker 1: Thunder Fever and Fever and Vixen's. Had she done that,
- 40:48Speaker 1: she would have had a perfect round, she would have
- 40:50Speaker 1: got five points. She didn't do that. She went for
- 40:52Speaker 1: Giants at the last at the last minute. So we've
- 40:54Speaker 1: had some movement. Our weekly prize winner is a tiper
- 40:58Speaker 1: named Kerry who's a swift supporter who this will give
- 41:00Speaker 1: you something to be happy about this week. Fifty bucks
- 41:03Speaker 1: from Valor to spend on some sweet gear there and
- 41:06Speaker 1: we have an outright leader of the whole competition at
- 41:10Speaker 1: the moment, Netball Betty is sitting on twenty one points. Yes,
- 41:14Speaker 1: now in our little Hosts and Heroes group, the leaders
- 41:18Speaker 1: of that pack. So there's eight of a senate. They
- 41:20Speaker 1: are sitting on sixteen points. You're at the bottom of
- 41:23Speaker 1: the of the top pack. So what does that make you?
- 41:25Speaker 1: Does that make you lightning?
- 41:28Speaker 2: Where am I next to Alexa? Yeah?
- 41:30Speaker 1: Well that's what I'm going to get to. Alexa is
- 41:33Speaker 1: ahead of you. But if our eight was the super
- 41:37Speaker 1: netball ladder fascinators who you will remember one the Valor
- 41:41Speaker 1: Dribblers tipping comp last year, has zoomed back into first
- 41:44Speaker 1: place there on sixteen points, so they're the Thunderbirds. Darryl
- 41:48Speaker 1: the statsman Milton has zoomed into second place also with
- 41:53Speaker 1: five points, so who's second? So Darryl is the Vixen's
- 41:57Speaker 1: this week, Alexa, who is your bestie, is sitting in
- 42:01Speaker 1: third place and you're in fourth place. Gordie has had
- 42:05Speaker 1: a great resurgence, having come from second last last week.
- 42:08Speaker 1: She had a perfect round this week, She's fifth, I'm sixth,
- 42:11Speaker 1: killing Devy is seventh, and the Boss is because as
- 42:16Speaker 1: she as you know, she only tips home teams, so
- 42:18Speaker 1: she is sitting on interesting nine points. Only only nine
- 42:22Speaker 1: home games out of sixteen so far home teams have won,
- 42:25Speaker 1: So there we go. So two hundred and nineteen people
- 42:28Speaker 1: got got perfect round this week, got five points. So
- 42:32Speaker 1: what's said about twenty five percent of the comp?
- 42:35Speaker 2: That was a tough round? Send comp hit now done, guys.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Three hundred and fifty two people got three hundred and
- 42:41Speaker 1: forty six people were with me on two points and
- 42:44Speaker 1: two people got zero points, which again is as hard
- 42:46Speaker 1: as getting a full round. So yes, but thank you
- 42:50Speaker 1: to Yeah. We made the announcement last week the Valor
- 42:52Speaker 1: has come back on board to support the tipping comp
- 42:55Speaker 1: this week, and what that means is that everybody who
- 42:57Speaker 1: lodged tips in this past round we'll go into the
- 43:01Speaker 1: draw to win a Valor camp for one hundred and
- 43:05Speaker 1: fifty bucks to spend on their website which has some
- 43:08Speaker 1: really nice gifts. So we might do that draw before
- 43:10Speaker 1: you go today.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Yeah, fam, we are.
- 43:13Speaker 1: And the Swift's Dinner is this Friday night, thirty years
- 43:17Speaker 1: of the Swifts, and I'm going to be joined on
- 43:19Speaker 1: the no Dribble table by five dribblers. Sharneie Nicole, Joe,
- 43:23Speaker 1: Carly and another Carolyn. Oh wow, all the gals. Yeah,
- 43:28Speaker 1: will the universe end? But two Carolyn's on the same table.
- 43:31Speaker 1: So and you guys will be dropping past to come
- 43:34Speaker 1: and see us.
- 43:34Speaker 4: And we will.
- 43:35Speaker 2: And I ran into the Swift's hierarchy at the game
- 43:38Speaker 2: yesterday and apparently lizzellas we're on a panel and they've
- 43:41Speaker 2: kept the best to last. But they also assumed by
- 43:44Speaker 2: that stage we'd have a few wines under our belt
- 43:47Speaker 2: and we would be entertaining. So they've got a few panels.
- 43:50Speaker 2: I think the Swifts now they're going to be first
- 43:53Speaker 2: because they have to leave, they've got to play the
- 43:54Speaker 2: next day. They won't be all that night partying like
- 43:56Speaker 2: the rest of us. And then they've got a middle
- 43:59Speaker 2: ear and then the early birds us. So you, myself
- 44:03Speaker 2: and Ali Broadband are going to be interviewed by Sue
- 44:06Speaker 2: Gordion later in the evening.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Fantastic. Well that's about sweet spot that we've had enough
- 44:11Speaker 3: wines but not too many, and for me it's a
- 44:13Speaker 3: very narrow sweet spot.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that's side.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Well, there's also you need to go to bed at
- 44:19Speaker 1: some stuff when you're wearing hotel slippers to this event.
- 44:23Speaker 2: No, I've got to work the next day. I've got
- 44:25Speaker 2: to do the game too, so I'll have to be sensible.
- 44:27Speaker 2: But yesterday, just quickly the tunnel that goes down ken
- 44:30Speaker 2: Rosewall Arena from the chain rooms down to the court,
- 44:33Speaker 2: they've got up thirty years of the swifts and they've
- 44:35Speaker 2: got a photo for every year of one of the players.
- 44:39Speaker 2: And so I was filming it as I was walking down,
- 44:41Speaker 2: kind of waiting to find myself. I'm the first one.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Like I shouldn't be the first one. You should have
- 44:47Speaker 2: been the first one. Traina wag should have been like
- 44:49Speaker 2: you're I think, yeah, but you're like, I'm ninety seven,
- 44:53Speaker 2: and then I reckon, there's even two players before you, like,
- 44:57Speaker 2: hang on a minute. It's just massive for the very
- 45:01Speaker 2: first one. I'm in that dodgy uniform, you know, the
- 45:04Speaker 2: real panel of blue and yellow that we had right
- 45:07Speaker 2: at the start where you got the best wedges of
- 45:09Speaker 2: all time when you just did one step beautiful. Yeah,
- 45:13Speaker 2: they were great at the time.
- 45:15Speaker 1: I think they'll be wearing a heritage dress this week.
- 45:18Speaker 1: They are, Yeah, so they'll be announcing that. So yesterday
- 45:21Speaker 1: when I was at ken Rosewall Arena, not Rod laver Arena,
- 45:25Speaker 1: as I put on the Facebook group, and thank you
- 45:28Speaker 1: to everyone who pointed out where I was, because I
- 45:30Speaker 1: clearly have no idea what day it is or what
- 45:32Speaker 1: my name is. But they've got all of the Swift
- 45:34Speaker 1: centurions up around the stadium. Liz, your number two, who's
- 45:37Speaker 1: number one? Who's the first Swift Centurion?
- 45:40Speaker 2: No, she's number two, as in the Swift that's not
- 45:42Speaker 2: in order of centurion was.
- 45:44Speaker 4: The second sief.
- 45:45Speaker 3: So they did it from the first year. Katrina wag
- 45:48Speaker 3: was a captain and I was a vice captain. So
- 45:50Speaker 3: Katrina is Swift number one and I'm Swift number two.
- 45:52Speaker 3: And enough that it's alphabetical, I think, yep, oh, okay.
- 45:54Speaker 2: So it's Meghan Anderson, then third Bali Broadman that I'm fifth, okay, yeah,
- 45:59Speaker 2: an alphabetical lot I.
- 46:00Speaker 3: So Ali Broben did want to get married before that,
- 46:02Speaker 3: because otherwise she would have read Ali Williams and she
- 46:04Speaker 3: would have been well behind Catherine.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Well, this is why as a swindle, I didn't play
- 46:08Speaker 1: for the Swifts because it's so well, I'm just going
- 46:10Speaker 1: to be at the end of the line so it
- 46:11Speaker 1: doesn't matter.
- 46:12Speaker 4: But I chose wrong last name with stocks you're at
- 46:17Speaker 4: the end, go Elli, and now.
- 46:19Speaker 2: I Meanwhile, we've swapped doors at Ken Rosell Arena where
- 46:22Speaker 2: your centurion thing is is where I was last year,
- 46:25Speaker 2: So you're now in that door and I've been moved
- 46:27Speaker 2: a couple of doors around the corner.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Well, she's directly opposite me. I know, can I ball
- 46:32Speaker 1: it for the whole game, especially in the second quarter
- 46:34Speaker 1: where I'm like, please, okay, we should take a quick break.
- 46:38Speaker 1: That was a great ample chat. Okay, So as you know,
- 46:53Speaker 1: we have a segment, we have a segment called ask
- 46:55Speaker 1: a Goat, but no one's been asking the goat any questions,
- 46:59Speaker 1: so I can't believe that we don't have If you
- 47:01Speaker 1: have a question that you would like Lizellis to answer,
- 47:04Speaker 1: please send it to info at no Dribble dot com
- 47:07Speaker 1: dot au. We don't really want Netball Australia type questions
- 47:11Speaker 1: unless it's something really interesting. It's like she's you know,
- 47:14Speaker 1: it's we're just you know, it's not we're not it's
- 47:17Speaker 1: not an admin.
- 47:18Speaker 4: Must remember I'm not the CEO.
- 47:20Speaker 1: She's not the CEO. That's right.
- 47:21Speaker 2: So we don't want camping questions.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Oh, we don't want camping.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Oh, we just so want camping questions, you know, although
- 47:28Speaker 3: I did think this weekend so Bluesfest got canceled up
- 47:31Speaker 3: at Bar and Bay, So that was quite controversial because
- 47:34Speaker 3: I think got canceled a couple of weeks ago. I
- 47:36Speaker 3: was spearing I was actually thinking of going today because
- 47:39Speaker 3: we always used to have always got tickets for the Monday,
- 47:41Speaker 3: because everyone's just a bit more relaxed on the Monday.
- 47:44Speaker 3: You can go and just sit around and get some
- 47:46Speaker 3: catch some great music. So normally I would be sitting
- 47:50Speaker 3: at blues Fest loving myself. That is not the case today,
- 47:53Speaker 3: just because I'm here loving myself. Now I'm here loving
- 47:55Speaker 3: you guys. But the big thing about Bluesfest was that
- 47:59Speaker 3: people who often got and camp and this week it
- 48:03Speaker 3: has done nothing but pierce rain. And we had that
- 48:06Speaker 3: conversation about Easter is always rain. I love caravanning and camping,
- 48:12Speaker 3: don't get me wrong, but why would you caravan and camp?
- 48:15Speaker 1: And I did lie in bed on Saturday night listening
- 48:19Speaker 1: to it absolutely bucket down outside and think, well, this
- 48:24Speaker 1: would be better. Caravanning would be better than camping in
- 48:28Speaker 1: this particular incidence, and my bed with the new linen
- 48:33Speaker 1: sheets that Pete got for Christmas next to your steer,
- 48:36Speaker 1: just just lovely.
- 48:38Speaker 2: So how good is lying in bed when it's that's
- 48:43Speaker 2: so good?
- 48:45Speaker 1: But I saw we have another segment called things that
- 48:49Speaker 1: make You Going, and Alex will insert the sting there
- 49:02Speaker 1: so I don't have to sing it again. But I
- 49:04Speaker 1: was at this is more a question other than the
- 49:06Speaker 1: things that make your government. This is a question we
- 49:08Speaker 1: don't haven't asked the goat. But what we do have
- 49:10Speaker 1: is me asking a question of the Dribblers. I saw
- 49:13Speaker 1: a guy walking at Sydney Airport last week when I
- 49:15Speaker 1: was picking up my daddy, had shorts on and the
- 49:17Speaker 1: whole back of one calf was a Broncos tattoo. I'd
- 49:20Speaker 1: like to know whether any Dribblers have tattoos of their
- 49:24Speaker 1: Super Netball team, and I'd like to see photos of them. Now,
- 49:28Speaker 1: it doesn't count if you've played for that team and
- 49:30Speaker 1: they've won a premiership. I'm just going to assume that
- 49:32Speaker 1: you've got the tattoo then, because pretty much everyone we
- 49:35Speaker 1: have interviewed some people who didn't get it, haven't we
- 49:37Speaker 1: was it Steph Fretwell.
- 49:38Speaker 2: Who oh yeah yeah, and it's not ever the like
- 49:43Speaker 2: a big logo and then and it's not a little
- 49:46Speaker 2: tiny ye lighting ballts or something.
- 49:49Speaker 1: But I thought that was interesting, Like that's a real
- 49:52Speaker 1: commitment to the cause of your NRL team, isn't it.
- 49:56Speaker 2: I have seen somebody's signature, someone signed sign someone's arm
- 50:01Speaker 2: and they got that tattooed on.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Oh wow, Yeah, that's intense. You really want to know
- 50:06Speaker 1: that you're going to love something. It's like, I just
- 50:09Speaker 1: know that at one stage, I thought it was a
- 50:11Speaker 1: good idea to perm my hair. So that's why I
- 50:13Speaker 1: can't trust myself to make permanent decisions about fashion or
- 50:18Speaker 1: you know, things that I like.
- 50:20Speaker 2: No, no, I want to hear this.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Okay, do you have things that make you go hmm?
- 50:25Speaker 2: Not this week? Okay, No, I don't, but I'll think
- 50:29Speaker 2: about one.
- 50:29Speaker 1: I'll tell you something. I thought that you would mention
- 50:31Speaker 1: that video that I sent to you while we were
- 50:33Speaker 1: talking about camping and raining and caravans and things and thinking, oh,
- 50:37Speaker 1: it's nice to go and stay in a decent hotel.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Did I send you a video this week that freaked
- 50:41Speaker 1: you out?
- 50:42Speaker 2: Yes? And do you know what scared me about that
- 50:45Speaker 2: is that was a nice hotel. Yeah, it looked nice.
- 50:47Speaker 2: So what she's talking about this is horrifying, and I
- 50:50Speaker 2: will never Normally, I just worry about cleaning the remote
- 50:53Speaker 2: in a hotel, sanitize the crap out of it because
- 50:57Speaker 2: I've heard some stories and the kettle. I've heard some
- 51:00Speaker 2: stories about the kettle as well, anyway, but I will
- 51:03Speaker 2: forever now be looking four snakes in and under the bear.
- 51:09Speaker 2: So this was a nice hotel in Thailand.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it looked like a three and a half four
- 51:14Speaker 1: star hotels we did that. A five star well, I
- 51:16Speaker 1: think five stars, depending on whether you've got a gymnasium
- 51:20Speaker 1: and a pool or whatever. But it looked like a
- 51:22Speaker 1: nice hotel.
- 51:22Speaker 2: It was something I would stay in, and it looked
- 51:25Speaker 2: like it was in civilization, not in the middle of
- 51:27Speaker 2: the Amazon or whatever else. Anyway, Apparently someone would tie
- 51:30Speaker 2: Amazon feeling like they were being strangled, and rang downstairs
- 51:35Speaker 2: to get them to come up and investigate. And they're
- 51:37Speaker 2: sure enough. Was it was a cobra too, wasn't it?
- 51:40Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 51:40Speaker 1: Yeah? And it took them a while, like they dismantled
- 51:42Speaker 1: the whole bedroom and then pulled the bed right back
- 51:44Speaker 1: and went, oh, hello, have a look at this. And
- 51:47Speaker 1: it was a It looked maybe a bit over a
- 51:50Speaker 1: meter along this thing didn't it so, but the person
- 51:54Speaker 1: had woken up because this thing had been crawling around
- 51:58Speaker 1: their necks.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Stop, oh, stop, I have conniptions when there's a Daddy
- 52:03Speaker 2: long legs in Liza's house.
- 52:05Speaker 1: House.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Yeah, when I stay there and I do look under
- 52:08Speaker 2: the bed in Lizza's house, I do, and in the
- 52:10Speaker 2: cupboards everythe in case there is a snake.
- 52:12Speaker 1: She did say she felt vindicated about that Daddy long
- 52:15Speaker 1: Legs once I'd shared that video there. But you know,
- 52:17Speaker 1: you grow up in Australia, you think, look, I know
- 52:20Speaker 1: about sharing the space with scary things, and there will
- 52:25Speaker 1: be snakes. If I go into the country, there will
- 52:28Speaker 1: be snakes, There will be outside, there'll be things. Sometimes
- 52:32Speaker 1: inside the spiders might come in, but they're usually not
- 52:35Speaker 1: the ones that can kill you. But you know, so
- 52:36Speaker 1: that gives you a sense of kind of maybe arrogance
- 52:39Speaker 1: or confidence when you go to another country and you think, yeah, okay,
- 52:43Speaker 1: I got this under control. But a cobra in your
- 52:47Speaker 1: hotel room.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Somebody must have planted that.
- 52:51Speaker 1: How does a cott get in there? Yeah?
- 52:53Speaker 4: How does a.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Cobra sneak into a hotel room unless someone's put that
- 52:56Speaker 2: in there? Any Who, maybe Daryl can invest again. Did
- 53:00Speaker 2: keep me awake last night, Thank you very much. So
- 53:03Speaker 2: that might have been the few wines I had after
- 53:05Speaker 2: the game.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Things that make you go hmm okay. So we do
- 53:15Speaker 1: need to give a shout out to your colleague in New.
- 53:17Speaker 2: Zealand, Jenny Woods. You're amazing so time she did message
- 53:22Speaker 2: and say your podcast is actually keeping me sane. So
- 53:27Speaker 2: I don't know how much of it is public, but
- 53:29Speaker 2: our great mate, one of our New Zealand commentary team,
- 53:32Speaker 2: has had some health battles at the minute. She's on
- 53:34Speaker 2: the mend, but she's been listening to No Dribble and
- 53:37Speaker 2: she said we're funny and she's loving it and it's
- 53:39Speaker 2: keeping her sane. So Jen, we are thinking of you,
- 53:41Speaker 2: We love you, and speedy recovery.
- 53:44Speaker 1: And thanks for letting us know we are very much
- 53:46Speaker 1: thinking of you. And yeah, hope, hope things go. Did
- 53:50Speaker 1: you see that video of Donald Trump declaring someone's sort
- 53:53Speaker 1: of private health information?
- 53:55Speaker 2: Oh my god, did not.
- 53:56Speaker 1: So it's some member of Congress over there and he's
- 54:00Speaker 1: with Mike Johnson, I think he's the Speaker of the House,
- 54:03Speaker 1: and he starts talking about this member of Congress who
- 54:05Speaker 1: has has cancer and they were sort of they were
- 54:08Speaker 1: dancing around it didn't say too much, you know, trying
- 54:11Speaker 1: to be respectful, and then Donald just says, yeah, it's
- 54:13Speaker 1: stage four, he's got less than six months to live.
- 54:15Speaker 1: And Mike Johnson as well. That actually wasn't public information, so.
- 54:19Speaker 2: My god, and you can't retract that that would have
- 54:22Speaker 2: been out. Hey just on health really quickly. I heard
- 54:24Speaker 2: this story yesterday. So a friend of mine went and
- 54:26Speaker 2: had had the mammogram, had all our ultra sounds done,
- 54:29Speaker 2: all the good stuff, doing the breast check. There was
- 54:32Speaker 2: something a little suspicious, so she had to go back
- 54:33Speaker 2: and get further ultrasounds and bits done. Anyway, finally diagnosed
- 54:37Speaker 2: as trapped fat. What that's my whole freaking body.
- 54:42Speaker 1: What fresh hell is this? I know?
- 54:45Speaker 2: Right now? This again. You know how we've spoken about
- 54:48Speaker 2: the fact that the mammogram machine must have been invented
- 54:51Speaker 2: by a mate. That term must have been invented by
- 54:55Speaker 2: a mate, trapped fat, because if that was a male
- 54:58Speaker 2: talking about a male's body, it would be like dormant
- 55:00Speaker 2: muscles trapped fat. Yeah, that's all my chins.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Can tell us anything about what this is.
- 55:08Speaker 2: Well, it's I think it's just a.
- 55:12Speaker 1: Okay, So it shows up as like as a mass
- 55:16Speaker 1: in the breast, and what it was referred to as
- 55:19Speaker 1: the breast basically is fat.
- 55:21Speaker 2: That's what I says. It's like, take all the trap
- 55:23Speaker 2: fat out of my arm and put it in my booms.
- 55:24Speaker 2: I'll be quite happy with you.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Another another term that I reckon a man made up
- 55:28Speaker 1: hostile uterus. So you know, some people when they're having
- 55:31Speaker 1: trouble conceiving and they get diagnosed as having a hostile uterus.
- 55:35Speaker 2: And that's the ones that reject the sperm.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe they're infurious sperm girls. Gotta have standards, right,
- 55:43Speaker 1: Things that make me go, hm, things that make you
- 55:46Speaker 1: go Anyway, We are coming up to round five. Thanks
- 55:49Speaker 1: to everybody who's joining in on the Tipping Camp. Thanks
- 55:52Speaker 1: to everybody who is enjoying the podcast. Thanks for saying
- 55:56Speaker 1: hello and letting us know that you are dripplers. Please
- 55:58Speaker 1: do share this poda, Please do get your friends involved.
- 56:02Speaker 1: We know it's fun. See it's helping people with their
- 56:04Speaker 1: health outcomes. Like, what more can you ask from a
- 56:07Speaker 1: network podcast? But another great week ahead? Yeah, and looking
- 56:13Speaker 1: forward to Friday night.
- 56:14Speaker 2: We'll give you all the dirt guys next week after
- 56:16Speaker 2: the Swift's thirty year gala dinner.
- 56:18Speaker 1: All right, have a great week. I'm Carolyn Swindell.
- 56:21Speaker 2: I'm Cathcock's Turtles.
- 56:22Speaker 3: I've been Liz Elis probably will still be Lizellis next week.
- 56:25Speaker 4: See you then bye bye.
- 56:32Speaker 2: So Liz had to leave early, right. But I didn't
- 56:36Speaker 2: want to say this before because she would have pat
- 56:38Speaker 2: herself on the back. But a dribbler came up to
- 56:40Speaker 2: meet the game yesterday and said, oh hi, I'm a
- 56:42Speaker 2: dribbler and I'm one of the ones that loves caravanning
- 56:46Speaker 2: and camping. I was like, great, I'm not mentioning that
- 56:49Speaker 2: to Lise, so it's good. I'll tell you now now
- 56:51Speaker 2: that she's not here.
- 56:52Speaker 1: We keep that under wraps. Yeah, glad we didn't put
- 56:54Speaker 1: it in the episode. Me too.
- 56:56Speaker 2: God,
