Transcript
- 0:41SPEAKER_03: Welcome back to Reality We've Got Thoughts.
- 0:44SPEAKER_03: We're here now to break down episode four of Earl Meets World.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: The last one we ended talking about uh Alyssa not going on the trip to Ash Aspen with them.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: And this one starts out with that same conversation.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: And it starts out with her sharing how hurt she was about not being on the trip with them, being snubbed per se.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: And Alex, I felt like had a really mature approach to the issue with her.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: She just talked about how, you know, I'm sorry, I want my mom to feel included.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: I don't want her to feel left out.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: I feel bad because I would never want her to have her feelings hurt over something like that.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, we need to figure out a way that we can have separation between the two families, too.
- 1:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's gotta be really hard to make it work like that when you do they've got to play on both sides of the mom and the dad, and especially when you have all those younger siblings.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: And well, and of course, we're only seeing a little snippet of it.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: For all we know, they do have those separation.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: Right now, they're really combined for the show, I think.
- 1:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for some of the conversations where they all agreed to do this together.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: I guess they already had some relationship, but there had to have been some discussions where they were like deep discussions.
- 2:04SPEAKER_03: Okay, we're all in this together, we're gonna be okay being filmed together, being in more, even more situations together.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Well, and I think somewhere it showed that the kids were saying that TJ wanted nothing to do with it, and now he's like all in and wants to be front and center on a lot of it.
- 2:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I saw Alex on there.
- 2:21SPEAKER_03: I actually think I posted on our Instagram story a little snippet of Alex saying that that TJ was not down with it, and then look, like I think, believe me, he definitely seems like he's gotta have some narcissism in there.
- 2:34SPEAKER_03: So I'm sure he was made for reality TJ.
- 2:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, right.
- 2:37SPEAKER_03: Like we've said, we could have a whole episode on TJ.
- 2:41SPEAKER_03: But um, but so I do think it seems like now mom's good.
- 2:44SPEAKER_03: I'm glad that they talked about it.
- 2:47SPEAKER_03: Um, because then comes another situation where um they are she's out, Alex is out in LA, and TJ and Ashley are out there um supposedly to help her help her house because they think she needs to have a place in LA and a place in uh New York.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Well, she can stay with Ashton when she was in New York, and then a place in was it Florida?
- 3:10SPEAKER_03: Miami, yeah.
- 3:11SPEAKER_03: So I wonder if she already got a place.
- 3:12SPEAKER_03: She was probably living with Braxton in Miami, but now I think probably has her own place there.
- 3:17SPEAKER_03: Um so then they're on that hike, and I will say Ashley is in great shape.
- 3:23SPEAKER_03: I mean, I hope it doesn't sound like creepy me saying that, but they went on that hike and Ashley is in very good shape.
- 3:29SPEAKER_03: So they seem to be having a good talk on that hike, and it's, you know, good for them to spend time together.
- 3:36SPEAKER_03: And they bring up the thing again about how Alex and Ashton definitely feel stuck in the middle.
- 3:42SPEAKER_03: And Ashley said um that she definitely, you know, they think that Alyssa definitely gets jealous if she feels like she's left out of stuff in the family.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: But I also feel like Ashley shouldn't be, she those are feelings Ashley should keep to herself.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: I feel like in a way she's pitting the girls against their mom when she says that.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: That, well, every time you and I get close, then your mom gets jealous, and so we can't be close.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Like, I just don't think that's right for her to share those feelings.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: And yes, they need to be open and honest with each other, but you don't pit a child against their parent.
- 4:20SPEAKER_03: I completely agree.
- 4:21SPEAKER_03: Because she was saying, like, it's hard for Alyssa to see Ashley getting close to them or getting along with them, but because then it becomes more of a competition, and that's what Ashley's turning it into, I feel like.
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 4:33SPEAKER_03: Because there's gotta be no way to get around that when you're in that situation.
- 4:37SPEAKER_03: But Ashley doesn't have to make it worse by by being like that.
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: And she's got her own kids, she's got her own three kids, it's fine, you know.
- 4:46SPEAKER_03: So then um then it goes, oh, the next scene is when Ashton and Sally are talking about dating.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: Or back to the dating, which obviously they, you know, made this, which it's a it's obviously a good storyline.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Um And it was funny, they were talking about their icks, what their big icks are.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: Yes, what did you think of those?
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: What was it?
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: A backpack is anybody, a bite, it's and it early don't live at the beach.
- 5:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they don't live at the beach like we do because flip-flops.
- 5:17SPEAKER_03: A curated Instagram.
- 5:19SPEAKER_03: Although this weekend, I we uh my husband, we were getting ready to go to the football game, and it was sneakers or flip-flops or tennis shoes, whatever.
- 5:28SPEAKER_03: I guess depends on where you live in the country, what what you call them.
- 5:31SPEAKER_03: But I was like, I encouraged him to wear the the athletic shoes, not the flip-flops.
- 5:37SPEAKER_03: He loves his flops.
- 5:38SPEAKER_03: Um and a curated Instagram, that was a funny one.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: That one was funny to me.
- 5:44SPEAKER_03: So is that an ick?
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: Is it an ick for a guy?
- 5:46SPEAKER_03: I mean, I love a curated Instagram.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Um, but what why is that an ick for a guy to have a curated Instagram?
- 5:52SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 5:53SPEAKER_03: Is it because he's too focused on himself?
- 5:55SPEAKER_03: I guess maybe.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: That was that was funny.
- 5:58SPEAKER_03: That was interesting.
- 5:59SPEAKER_03: But it was funny how Ashton was saying that she doesn't get DMs from guys.
- 6:02SPEAKER_03: Like, I can't even imagine that she wouldn't be getting DMs from guys.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 6:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 6:08SPEAKER_03: Like a lot of people, I mean, uh, you know, I've been married for 23 years together.
- 6:12SPEAKER_03: So I don't know, you know, you and I have both been married a long time.
- 6:15SPEAKER_03: They didn't, I didn't have that when I was dating.
- 6:18SPEAKER_03: But apparently that's how a lot of people, especially people that are in the public eye, they'll literally meet someone by DMing.
- 6:24SPEAKER_03: Oh, I'm pretty sure my kids have slid into someone's DMs.
- 6:27SPEAKER_03: At least my son has.
- 6:28SPEAKER_03: I don't know about Peter.
- 6:30SPEAKER_03: I'm sure a lot of people have slipped into your son's DMs, and I shouldn't say that.
- 6:34SPEAKER_03: Oh, it's so funny.
- 6:36SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, it's crazy to me.
- 6:39SPEAKER_03: The whole Snapchat thing and all that.
- 6:41SPEAKER_03: But um, but she did say she was nervous.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: Here we go back to the clout chasing again.
- 6:45SPEAKER_03: She's nervous about clout chasers.
- 6:47SPEAKER_03: And I do think, again, when it comes to anything about dating with Ashton and Alex, as much as they love TJ and have a good relationship with him now, that would be a whole like therapist thing to say, like agreed.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Agreed.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: I feel like Ashton can be incognito right now, though, especially when she's out with Sally, because now that the show's out, obviously it's gonna be a little bit different.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: But I feel like she could have been out dating and not be widely known.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: Because yes, she's been out on social media, but not like Alex.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: She's not as widely known.
- 7:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I don't know if younger people, maybe more girls, knew who she was.
- 7:25SPEAKER_03: I know that the times that I listened to Alex's podcast, that she was on, I don't I don't know how many times, but I know some she was on there, some with her when I listened in the car with Sydney.
- 7:37SPEAKER_03: Um so they talk about how maybe they're too picky, which obviously is not a bad thing.
- 7:43SPEAKER_03: Um, you know.
- 7:45SPEAKER_03: I can't imagine dating these days.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: How different it is from when we were dating.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: It that would be really, really hard.
- 7:55SPEAKER_02: Really hard.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: Because your whole life is out on public display because of social media anymore.
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: So you know what I lack, because we've all in our era, everybody had like a photo that you'd take out of a photo album and like take a pair of scissors and cut your boyfriend out.
- 8:11SPEAKER_03: But I guess now you gotta go back and take them off your Instagram.
- 8:15SPEAKER_03: So it's it's it's very different.
- 8:17SPEAKER_03: So then one of the big themes of this episode was Ashley's TikTok again.
- 8:22SPEAKER_03: And she posted something that um that Alex didn't really like.
- 8:26SPEAKER_03: So then when they go to look at the house in LA before they actually start looking at the house, they're in the foyer, and and Alex is just confronting her and asking her to take it down and you know, and all of this.
- 8:37SPEAKER_03: And um, you know, I didn't really have a problem with it.
- 8:40SPEAKER_03: I didn't think the way she talked to her was that bad.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: The way Ashley or Alex handled it was very mature.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: She just said, you know, just think about what you did and think about the circumstances.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: You know what I had to go through when all that backlash was happening.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: And I and she even prefaced it, she said, You have a good heart.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: It came from a good place and it was well-meaning.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: But considering the circumstances, it just probably the timing was wrong.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: And she asked her very nicely, I thought, to take it down.
- 9:08SPEAKER_03: So then she says she'll put it to private.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: But then we see in the confessional where TJ isn't really he th he well, even when she says she'd put it to private, Ashley got I felt like Ashley got really smug about it and was just like flipping through her phone all flippantly.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: And she says, Fine, I'll make it private.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: And TJ says, Well, what does that mean?
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: She goes, It means it's private.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: Which she didn't private.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: She just changed the setting so people can still see it.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: And when people can still see it, they can screenshot it or forward it and send it to other people.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: It's not gone.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: See, I'm so an al TikTok illiterate.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: So what does that mean?
- 9:45SPEAKER_03: So what so private, it just means it's not gonna push it out, but it's still on.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 9:50SPEAKER_03: She still has it on her, it's still there.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: So I just feel like Ashley was very immature with the way she received um Alex's request.
- 9:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I just I just feel like I didn't I really didn't see anything wrong with Alex.
- 10:05SPEAKER_03: No, she's gotta tell her.
- 10:06SPEAKER_03: They know, they know again, this is their whole business, this is why they have this show, this is everything, they gotta be careful about it.
- 10:12SPEAKER_03: So then I thought it was funny, they're looking at this huge house, which I obviously in the end she's not by the house.
- 10:18SPEAKER_03: But did you think this was weird?
- 10:20SPEAKER_03: So the realtor that is there to show them the house is none other than Alexia Umansky of the agency, which anybody that is a reality lover like you and I knows that is the daughter of Kyle Richards and Mario Umansky and Mauricio.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: Mario, listen to me, Mauricio Umansky.
- 10:38SPEAKER_03: Kyle Richards is, of course, the longest-running housewife without a break, housewives of Beverly Hills.
- 10:45SPEAKER_03: And they're all acting like they don't know who the heck she is.
- 10:49SPEAKER_03: Did you think that was weird?
- 10:51SPEAKER_03: I think Alex would definitely know who Alexa was.
- 10:54SPEAKER_03: Alex knew who she was.
- 10:55SPEAKER_03: Alex clearly had to know who she was.
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: It was a little weird how they how TJ was like, Art, weren't you on Jim?
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: That was the first time I felt like part of the show was scripted.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: That they just happened to fall upon this realtor that just happened to be from reality TV and just happened to understand what it's like to film your family.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: That part just was too.
- 11:18SPEAKER_03: Because here's the thing in re in real reality, it would make total sense that they probably knew somebody that knows somehow them or the agency, and that they would maybe go through the agency for Alex to buy a house.
- 11:30SPEAKER_03: They obviously the agency deals with tons of celebrities, and that would be fine.
- 11:36SPEAKER_03: And it would even be totally normal for TJ to just look at her and say, Well, you obviously are from a big reality family.
- 11:44SPEAKER_03: Like, how did you guys handle being on television?
- 11:46SPEAKER_03: Like, they're already breaking the fourth wall.
- 11:48SPEAKER_03: So I just don't know why they pretended shame on the producer if it wasn't just some weird organic thing where maybe there's no way that they didn't know who she was.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: I agree.
- 12:01SPEAKER_03: If you they're in there in the world that they're in, in this business, they must have they they must have known, right?
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: They had to have known.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: But Alexia.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Or at least knew that they were working with the agency.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: And and before you went, wouldn't you at least do your homework?
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like you know who your agent is that you're meeting with.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: You know your agent's name.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: You've had a probably had a phone conversation with them.
- 12:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was a little bit disappointing because that part did feel a little produced where they were like, oh, just pretend like you don't know.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: But anyway, I of course loved seeing Alexia make the cameo in there.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: And um we got another A name.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, another A.
- 12:38SPEAKER_03: A's, A's, A's, Ashley, Alexia.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: Um so it was interesting to me when they were in the house and they're talking, TJ and Ashley are talking to Alex about how she really needs to, you know, get some roots and have a home.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: And Alex kind of breaks down and she's like, but do I even have a home?
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Like, where's my I don't feel like I have a home base.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: She really wants to be grounded somewhere, but with her job, she's all over the place.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: And and I think it it showed a more vulnerable side of her.
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because you can feel for her when she talks about how she actually feels a little guilty or feels a little crazy for talking about being stressed out because she knows that she's had all this success and a lot of the things that she's wanted to accomplish are coming true.
- 13:24SPEAKER_03: But that doesn't mean that she's not busy and stressed out.
- 13:28SPEAKER_03: And she's young.
- 13:28SPEAKER_03: She's only 25 dealing with all this, starting this huge company, starting a TV show.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: I think it also shows how genuine she is that, you know, here she's made it so big and she's stressed out, but then she feels guilty for being so stressed out about it because she sees what her friends are doing that she grew up with, like her high school friends, and she even mentions that she'll call them and hear what they're doing, and she just like part of her just feels like she missed out on being a kid.
- 13:55SPEAKER_03: Because think about it, she started she obviously started this while she was at University of Miami, is when she started her TikTok.
- 14:01SPEAKER_03: And um, one of my favorite podcasts is um It's So Good, It's Bad with Ryan Bailey.
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: And I heard, you know, Ryan say that he didn't even necessarily plan on watching this show, but he did, and he liked it a lot more than he thought.
- 14:14SPEAKER_03: And like he said, he he wouldn't necessarily have known, you know, who she was, but he talked about how likable she is, and how and Ryan was saying how that's one thing about the show, too, is she still is kind of like in a relatable a relatable way and very likable.
- 14:33SPEAKER_03: So um, you know, he was saying how the Kardashians at this point, even though we still watch the show, they are like this huge billion-dollar company, and it's like it's gotten so unre it's it's not as attainable or realistic or relatable for people, but Alex Earle is still somewhat in the realm where people can relate to her and feel that they could, you know, be her or and and that she is very, very likable.
- 15:00SPEAKER_03: Um but I'm sure it is, you know, a lot of a lot of pressure.
- 15:06SPEAKER_03: So she t and she talks about that, um, you know, that she does like the comfort of a male partner too.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: Remember when she talked about that?
- 15:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and how doing a lot of this on her own is really hard because she's so used to always having someone.
- 15:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because she said she doesn't want to be alone, but she knows for the long term.
- 15:29SPEAKER_03: She needs to be alone right now.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's hard.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Well, we kind of circle back to the whole TikTok thing with Ashley when Ashley and TJ are having a conversation later and they're talking about it, and TJ, you know, just says, you know, how are we feeling?
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: How do you feel about it?
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: And Ashley says, Well, quite frankly, I was really offended.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: Like my feelings were hurt, and and you should never talk to your parents that way, blah, blah, blah.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Again, I don't think Alex was out of line with the way she talked to her.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: And I felt like in that moment, TJ completely threw Alex under the bus and was like, well, yeah, she's just young, she's immature, and and she needs to learn how to handle her business and how to talk to adults and talk to her parents.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: And TJ's playing both sides here.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: And I get it, Ashley says wife, he should be her support.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: But you can also put your wife in their place if they're wrong.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: And that's where I think it probably is really hard for them, you know, being in the business together and doing all that.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: And it brings up the point too that like when you're somebody like Alex Earl and you're doing that, unfortunately, it is there's no way for your family members not to affect you, especially now that they've all decided to do the show together.
- 16:42SPEAKER_03: But even before that, people are always gonna put her with those other family members.
- 16:47SPEAKER_03: So if they're posting something or doing something, it can't help but affect her too.
- 16:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: And just like whatever she does affects her the rest of her family.
- 16:58SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 17:00SPEAKER_03: So then the next thing was the dating, right?
- 17:02SPEAKER_03: The next thing was the funny.
- 17:03SPEAKER_03: So what did you think?
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: So Ashton hasn't dated in a long time.
- 17:07SPEAKER_03: Um, and they're gonna go, she and Sally are gonna go on that double blind date.
- 17:12SPEAKER_03: Which, oh my gosh.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: So much to unpack.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: Well, first the dates show up, and remember, one of the icks was a backpack, and the guy shows up with like a man bag, man purse over his arm.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: With like his, yeah, I guess he said it's a immediate bag.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: And they s decide they're gonna play ping pong, which is such a random first date idea in the first place.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: Let's talk about the dates though.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Did that one guy have no friends?
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: Well, the one guy they asked, they asked him what they both do for work.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: The one guy is a divorce lawyer.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: He was cute, by the way.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: He was really cute.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: And the accent just made him that much cuter.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: The other guy, I don't know what happened to his hair.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: What the back home over.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: I literally told him he looked good.
- 18:05unknown: Okay.
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: Let's judge it up a little.
- 18:10SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm saying.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: Does that guy literally not have one friend?
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: Because he would be good looking.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: He's not unattractive, but that hair, it was bad.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: But the girls didn't even mention his hair, did they?
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: Maybe that was just so bad that they didn't want to mention it on the show and be that mean.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: What did he do for work?
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: I don't even I didn't catch.
- 18:30SPEAKER_03: I forget what they said, but I can't remember because all I was looking at was that hair.
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: I was like, am I seeing this right?
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: Am I seeing this hair right?
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: No, it was it I mean it was worse than an 85-year-old combover.
- 18:43SPEAKER_03: So I felt like this was one of the most boring parts of the whole series so far for me.
- 18:48SPEAKER_03: It was fun.
- 18:48SPEAKER_03: I see the point of it, like trying to do the storyline of the single girls trying to date and all of that.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: But there was no chemistry there at all.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: Like it just did not click at all.
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: And this was one thing that felt forced.
- 19:01SPEAKER_03: Like, who supposedly set them up with these guys?
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: Who were these guys?
- 19:05SPEAKER_03: Like, this might have all been completely produced, but that's okay.
- 19:09SPEAKER_03: It was um the theme of it's fine because Sally was saying, okay, it's not that scary.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: And Ashton we just needed this to get past the first hurdle.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: And but how about Sally when they ask her to give a little synopsis and she just goes on and on and on and on and on about her life?
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: That was funny.
- 19:27SPEAKER_03: And they're like, she could talk to a brick wall or whatever.
- 19:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:30SPEAKER_03: I love when they it's kind of like they do that with Dorit on on Beverly Hills, where they'll like pan away, pan, like they put it together where it just seems like, which it's true, it's just going on and on and on.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: Well, I found it interesting too that Ashton threw out when they she was Ashton was explaining herself that she even threw out there, my sister became TikTok famous.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: I think if that were me, I would leave all of that out of it.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: Because I don't want you to be more interested in my sister being TikTok famous.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: And now I got into that because there goes your clout chasing.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like you're setting yourself up for clout chasing.
- 20:03SPEAKER_03: It actually makes me sad, like that Ashton, yes, obviously Ashton helped, I mean, Alex helped her get into it or whatever.
- 20:13SPEAKER_03: But I don't want Ashton to diminish her own success by only attaching it to Alex.
- 20:20SPEAKER_03: She should say, like, I got into influencing, I'm an influencer, I'm working on modeling.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: Like, she should be proud to say what she's doing.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, which it would be hard to be in Alex's shadow because Alex has had so much attention, especially because TJ tends to pay more attention to Alex as well.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: So I think that just only amplifies the diminishing for Ashton.
- 20:44SPEAKER_03: Again, another Kardashian connection, because we know that several times during all the seasons of keeping up, and now even on the Kardashians on Hulu, they have had the issue where some of the kids think Chris is giving more attention to one or the other, or of course, at first it was always like Kim's the favorite.
- 21:02SPEAKER_03: And then, of course, once Kylie matured and got um Kylie cosmetics, so became so big.
- 21:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that they were like, Kylie's the favorite.
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: So that that And it's hard.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: You know, you have kids, they they're all every child at one point thinks that you've got a favorite.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: And that it's not them.
- 21:23SPEAKER_03: And then until you're a mom, you don't know that that you don't have a favorite.
- 21:27SPEAKER_03: Are some kids easier?
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: Are some kids maybe you connect with more about something and connect with another one more about something else?
- 21:34SPEAKER_03: But I don't believe there's like a favorite.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: There's no favorite.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Like they're different in their own way.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Each relationship is different.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: And even raising kids, you raise them all differently because they're all so different.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 21:45SPEAKER_03: It's crazy that they can come from the same parents and be so different.
- 21:49SPEAKER_03: So different.
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: So they basically sum up the date by saying it was friends' vibes, they're not really crushing on them.
- 21:57SPEAKER_03: But like we said, they did say that um that she, you know, that they it opened them up more to dating.
- 22:05SPEAKER_03: It opened them up more to dating.
- 22:07SPEAKER_03: So Yeah.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: And it was cute too before they even went on their date and Penelope was talking to Ashton about it, and she's like, Well, you better not screw this up.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: So David's just throwing those little sibling jabs in there.
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:19SPEAKER_03: So then they um then, like you said, then they go back to the we're we're back now on the TikTok thing and hurting Ashley's feeling and and what Alex is gonna do because they're over.
- 22:30SPEAKER_03: Alex and Ashton are then over at Alyssa's house for dinner, and TJ calls Alex.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: What did you think of that phone call?
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: Oh, it it's it was after his conversation with Ashley when Ashley was so had her feelings hurt so bad, and he just kind of railed on Alex and kind of railed on her and told her that she needs to grow up and she needs to be more mature in the way she talks to her her parents and to adults and just really let her have it.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: And again, we all probably only saw a snippet of that conversation, but it was not bad.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: I didn't think it was that bad either.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: It wasn't even disrespectful.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: I thought she handled it very, very well.
- 23:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think I mean you talk about clout chasing now.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: If you wanna and I and I've you know I've given Ashley the benefit of the doubt or whatever, but you know, obviously, you know, at this point, it is what it is.
- 23:26SPEAKER_03: Alex is the one in the family kind of driving all this.
- 23:29SPEAKER_03: They have to be watching out.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: Because you know, when push comes to show up, your husband's gonna stick up for you no matter what.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: If someone's hurt your feelings, he's gonna stick up for you.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, TJ sticking up for Ashley, it just makes Ashley look bad because Ashley was clearly poo-pooing to him that's oh po woe is me.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: My feelings were hurt, she was so mean to me, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: And so then TJ just goes after Alex.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: But he's still her dad.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: And so you're I I feel like he lost some respect from Alex just from the way he handled that.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: It's hard for him to have to play both sides like that.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I agree.
- 24:08SPEAKER_03: And again, that's when it comes up where she talks about how Alex feels like she has felt that over the years sometimes she has to take the high, like she has to be the one that's more.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just thought it was so rude when he's told her that she needs to filter what she says and that she's not in college anymore and is an adult that needs to talk to her parents different.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: But I feel like when you become an adult, you talk to your parents different anyway.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: Your conversations are more mature, they're on different subject levels and different maturity levels.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: So Right.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: I felt like it was all appropriate.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: And TJ's and Ashley, you're the one out of line here.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: And basically that's also let's go back to the house when they were in the house and they kind of wrapped up the conversation while they were looking at that house, and TJ says, Give me a hug.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: It was the most awkward father-daughter hug I've ever seen.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: Oh my God.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: Clearly, Alex was super uncomfortable.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: So it really makes you wonder, are they that close?
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: Because I would have I've never had an awkward hug with my dad.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: That's funny.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: Maybe she was just mad because she felt like he wasn't siding with her.
- 25:12SPEAKER_03: Being supportive of her awkward hug, though.
- 25:17SPEAKER_03: It's crazy.
- 25:20SPEAKER_03: So now we're halfway through.
- 25:22SPEAKER_03: That was episode four.
- 25:24SPEAKER_03: Can't wait to get into the rest.
- 25:26SPEAKER_03: We'll see you then.
