  Otterbeau, who was who had an accident or who was mowed down

  by Dangote's truck in Bini City. Now for some of you who don't

  know, she is the sister to Bibi and Nigelina Fina or Taboo.

  According to the story, she was coming back from school or she
• 0:35
  was going to work or something like that and she was on a bike
• 0:39
  and she they had an accident. I think according to the story,
• 0:44
  the bike was trying to overtake the trailer or the trailer was
• 0:47
  listen, we don't even know with the whole Nigeria bad rules in
• 0:50
  Nigeria, we don't know what actually happened.

  But there was an accident and she was rushed to the hospital
• 0:58
  because she some parts of her bodies were crushed, mostly her
• 1:04
  legs. One of her legs was cut off.

  They said that her intestine was badly damaged.

  She was in a hospital for about 19 days and she lost her life.

  Now, before Roots lost her life, there was so many drama on
• 1:19
  social media. Initially, Fina had come out to
• 1:23
  cry that there was an accident. Before then, I had seen a video
• 1:28
  on a VDM's page where he talked about, you know, trailers and
• 1:32
  accidents. But it wasn't new.

  It wasn't like news. There are daily occurrences of
• 1:40
  Dangote's thriller or just normal truck drivers who are not
• 1:45
  maybe trained to drive large vehicles, who are driving large
• 1:50
  vehicles and most times accidents or call almost on a
• 1:56
  daily basis you see trailer falling on a truck, trailer
• 2:00
  falling on somebody, trailer you're driving and you know
• 2:04
  trailer just lose, break and kill somebody.

  So it wasn't news. So when I saw that I was just
• 2:10
  like another trailer news. Then Fina posted on her page
• 2:16
  that her sister there was an accident and her sister is was
• 2:21
  involved in that accident. And she said she went to see her
• 2:24
  sister and she could not believe the level of damage that had
• 2:29
  occurred, that they had immediately cut off one of her
• 2:32
  leg to be able to save her life. And according to what they were
• 2:36
  saying or according to what Fina said, she said the other leg was
• 2:40
  also going to be affected because the the damage was just
• 2:43
  too much. She called her Dangote.

  She said that Dangote should do the needful.
• 2:48
  Dangote should fly her sister out.
• 2:50
  You know, Fina was online crying for help.
• 2:54
  And then VDM picked up the the story.

  That was the the way I followed the story.

  He picked up the story. He started talking about, you
• 3:02
  know, that if anything happens to Roots, that he's going to go
• 3:06
  to Ouchi because that was what happened, that he's going to
• 3:09
  make sure that Dangote's trailer never commence activities in
• 3:14
  that city again. That there are, you know, they
• 3:17
  should do the needful. Dangote, on the other hand, they
• 3:20
  really took action because they went to visit Fina sister at the
• 3:23
  hospital. They took pictures.
• 3:26
  They put out some press statement saying that you know,
• 3:30
  they were there, they met the family they met, they took share
• 3:34
  the photograph that they they, they tagged her Mrs Boots or
• 3:39
  Taboo. Now, that was when things
• 3:42
  started shifting because Fina came online and said that her
• 3:46
  sister is not married, that they should change that, that they
• 3:50
  should remove that message that she's not married, that why
• 3:53
  would they? In fact, why would they take a
• 3:54
  picture with her family members without, you know, her
• 3:58
  authorization that they should delete the picture.

  So it became kind of, I think Fina initiated the messiness
• 4:04
  because when I read that, I was just like, I mean, they took a
• 4:09
  picture. They are trying to be
• 4:11
  transparent that they actually went there to see the family
• 4:15
  members. Yes, we are not there, but that
• 4:18
  doesn't mean you should kind of attack them.

  Yes, you know, tensions were high, she's angry and all those
• 4:24
  kind of things. For me personally, I just
• 4:26
  thought, you know, that was just too low for people who are
• 4:30
  trying to do the right thing. Now before you go say Jack BDM
• 4:34
  came out and said that he is disassociating himself from the
• 4:39
  whole Justice for Roots drama. According to him, Fina had
• 4:45
  messaged him to say that even before she went online.
• 4:49
  He said that Fina messaged him to tell him about her sisters
• 4:53
  accident and then he picked up the story.
• 4:55
  He didn't want to release details so he didn't mention,
• 4:58
  you know the names until Fina actually mentioned names.

  So he took that upon himself. He made several videos.

  He said that he flew to Lagos or he was in Lagos and he kind of
• 5:12
  contacted a lawyer who According to him was supposed to represent
• 5:17
  Fina and her sister. Rude.

  So the lawyer was on on his way to Lagos because they had
• 5:23
  actually broke out the a meeting with Dangote Group.

  So only for According to him, for Fina to now go at his back
• 5:31
  to tell them that to to arrange the meeting without him and then
• 5:37
  came back to him to say that the Dangote people didn't want him
• 5:41
  in the meeting because they were scared of him.

  According to VDM, that was when he realised that Fina was
• 5:47
  playing shady because he said that even before then Fina had
• 5:51
  an accident and he had contacted somebody very well known
• 5:55
  expensive car repair person or a mechanic and Fina, they, they,

  they accepted to do that for free.

  So he said after the whole thing, he felt some kind of way
• 6:06
  when Fina reached out to him According to him without giving
• 6:09
  him updates and asked for the the the mechanic's number, he
• 6:13
  said that was shady. So he decided to to stop
• 6:16
  responding to Fina. Now Fina when he made that video
• 6:22
  before then VDM had issues. I mean, VDM always have issues
• 6:25
  with people. One of the people that he had
• 6:27
  issues with was them easy, easy or by the OR or by be sorry if I
• 6:34
  don't pronounce that well, but he had issues with easy.

  We, they were, they were friends before because he even asked her
• 6:44
  to monetize his Facebook page. So for somebody to trust you
• 6:48
  that much, I mean, they, they, they, they, they were in contact
• 6:51
  and they were in communication with each each other.

  So according to depending on who you ask, if you ask Easy, easy

  would say that she posted videos, video because according

  to her, he's an activist or she thought he was an activist.

  So she posted the video and they flagged the video on her page.

  So she couldn't make money from the video.

  So she reached out to VDM to say what's going on.

  You know, why are you flagging people using your videos?

  VDM came out and said that that's a lie, that she never, he

  never, you know, flagged any video.

  This, it just became messy between the two of them.

  They were going back and forth. So when Fina now had that issue

  with VDM or after VDM had made that video, she came on live and
• 7:39
  she was crying. She was like, you know, she
• 7:40
  didn't mean to offend VDM, that she only went with what she was
• 7:45
  told. So she she cried and then easy
• 7:50
  being, you know, the friend of my enemy or the enemy of my
• 7:54
  friend, whichever one she reached out to to Fina for a
• 7:58
  live video. S Fina teamed up with Easy to
• 8:03
  talk about VDM and for me, I thought that was a bit much
• 8:09
  because if you're having issues with somebody or if you think
• 8:13
  that you may may have offended somebody and then there's
• 8:16
  another person who had issues with that person, they're coming
• 8:19
  to you to go live to talk about that.

  Listen, that person does not have your best interest at
• 8:25
  heart. They just want to use that to,
• 8:27
  you know, take we have the one on on that person.

  So for me, I think that was Fina shouldn't have, you know, done
• 8:34
  that video with easy. She should have maybe gone to
• 8:37
  daddy freeze. She should have gone to There
• 8:39
  are so many other content creators that she could have
• 8:41
  gone to. But I think because these are
• 8:44
  Edo people, VDM is a do, Fina is a do, easy is a do.

  So I think maybe because of that, they were trying to keep

  it within the Edo family. So she went to easy and that's

  also angered video because he came out and said that he's

  washing his hand away from the whole thing.

  Now somebody else stepped into the drama and the the person

  Doris Ogala. And Doris on her own is a

  controversial Nollywood actress. I mean, I don't even know the

  movies that she's acted in. But every I came back a day,

  Doris is always online talking about one thing or the other.

  When I first saw Doris was when she talks about her miscarriage.

  She shared videos, like videos, bloody videos.
• 9:32
  And I was like, wow, there are certain things you keep private.

  Yes, you can talk about miscarriage.

  Yes, you can talk about, you know, how that affected you,
• 9:41
  maybe mentally, psychologically, physically.
• 9:44
  But sharing the videos for me was just a bit too much.

  Then she talked about, you know, Pastor taking her money about 30
• 9:52
  million naira. So Doris has always been in the
• 9:55
  news for one controversial thing or the other and then when this
• 9:59
  whole thing happened, she took sides with VDM because she was
• 10:02
  like why would easy team up with Fina just because she had issues
• 10:08
  with VDM and FINA? VDM is trying to help you.

  You approached him to raise an alarm about your sister's
• 10:15
  accident, which he did. So why teaming up with his
• 10:18
  enemy? So that was how that became
• 10:22
  contents. He kind of went away from
• 10:28
  fighting for justice for roots or trying to get roots the best
• 10:33
  care that they could get or trying to, to to learn voices
• 10:37
  for Dangote to or to press Dangote's neck to do the needful

  to people saying fly, you know, route abroad, fly route to India

  for proper treatment and all that.

  That just shifted to backbiting. Everybody was fighting

  everybody. D1 got into it.

  In fact, it became content. Who is fighting who?

  Who is wrong? Who is right?

  Is Finna wrong to have removed the VDM?

  Is VDM wrong to have removed himself from the whole justice

  for Root? Is Finna justified going to easy
• 11:15
  to talk about what had happened? Or is easy justified listen?

  It just became content and then the whole objective of raising
• 11:25
  alarm was pushed aside. VDM came out and said that FINA
• 11:30
  demanded 1 billion from Dangote. She wasn't really even talking
• 11:34
  about treatment. She was talking about, you know,
• 11:37
  1 billion. That was when he talked about or
• 11:40
  he told us or told the public that Roots is married with two
• 11:46
  children. We never knew because Dangote in
• 11:49
  their initial statement had stated Mrs Roots Utter Ball and
• 11:54
  then Fina. Remember she said they should
• 11:57
  change that. But Vidian was now coming in to

  say that Fina actually Fina is not straightforward.

  According to Vidian, he said that Finn actually told him that

  she had two kids. So he was thinking if they use

  that route to say Dangote do the needful, this is a mother of two

  children. She is breastfeeding her last

  child. If we could use that to pressure

  them to do the right thing, but Fina was not willing to put that

  out there. She said that's because the

  father or the yeah, the father of the children or her sisters

  husband is a deadbeat. So he she didn't want him in the
• 12:35
  picture because, you know, if they had acknowledged that she's
• 12:40
  married to the guy, I think his name is Daniel, whatever they're
• 12:45
  doing is going to go through him.

  So at that point, according to VM, he felt that Fina was just
• 12:54
  after the money, nothing else. And that was when he realised
• 12:58
  that, OK, he's going to withdraw from the whole thing.

  He became content. Everybody was going back and
• 13:03
  forth. And we woke up and we heard that
• 13:09
  Roots a couple of days ago, that Roots had passed on.

  It was sad because she she was in the hospital for about 19
• 13:19
  days and half of those days, or let's say the better part of
• 13:24
  those 19 days, was used in dragging.

  You know, who was right, who was wrong.

  Before she passed, Fina was admitted in the hospital.

  People also talked about, you know, she's not sick, that she's
• 13:39
  just faking it. She's just trying to create
• 13:41
  content. Sometimes I just think that

  there are certain things that that was why I didn't really get
• 13:50
  into it because I thought, you know, there are certain things
• 13:53
  that you just let people grieve. Even if she's coming out making
• 13:58
  videos, maybe she's emotional. She is trying to lash out at
• 14:03
  somebody. Maybe she's angry with the
• 14:06
  sister's baby daddy, maybe he didn't marry her properly, maybe
• 14:11
  they were not happy with their union.
• 14:13
  Maybe that was why she tried to get him out of the way.

  We don't know. But so many things came out
• 14:22
  before even Fina. Before this whole drama, Fina
• 14:25
  had had had dramas with her family.

  Because people are now coming out to say that yes because Fina
• 14:30
  had also deactivated her social media pages after Roots passing.

  Before then, Fina had come out openly and disowned her family
• 14:40
  because she said that all they were asking for since she won
• 14:43
  Big Brother Nigeria was money. She even the father did an
• 14:47
  interview on I think her rise or someone TV channel like that
• 14:53
  where he talked about how his daughter was not helping.

  So people are now saying if you had actually disowned your
• 14:59
  family, who is Ruth? That was when people who knew
• 15:03
  them said that Ruth is actually her cousin.

  Not her, you know, sister, their blood, but their cousins.

  So Fina had this owned family but kind of kept in touch with
• 15:13
  her cousin Roots because Fina had mentioned that she actually
• 15:16
  paid Roots school fees. It's messy.

  I don't even know how Fina would get over this because is he sad?

  Whether cousin, whether sister, it is a very sad situation and

  the fact that everybody sat down dissecting everything, making
• 15:37
  videos, criticising her, her reaction, her non reaction, her

  focus on money 1 billion. Why did she remove VDM?

  Why did she go to Easy? Everybody talked and I think
• 15:52
  maybe that was why she just kind of decided to move away from
• 15:55
  social media just to get herself back, which is a very good
• 15:58
  thing. But what do you think?

  Do you think that the way everybody in this situation

  handled the story or handle this terrible, terrible accident was

  proper? Do you think that Nigerians need

  to to, to, to or the Nigerian government need to do something

  about Dangote trucks? Because these are very promising

  Nigerians that are being cut short in their prime.

  Every day we hear the stories, even the ones that don't make it
• 16:24
  to social media, they are there daily.

  People are dying daily because of truck drivers and these
• 16:32
  companies are not asked to pay compensation.

  I think because VDM was into the matter, that was why Dangote
• 16:39
  Company was able to just go quickly to to visit the victim.

  But was the drama necessary? Would you have advised Fina to
• 16:51
  go to VDM if she knew that she wasn't going to be
• 16:55
  straightforward because she didn't tell him or she told him
• 16:58
  that he, the sister had children, but she didn't want to
• 17:01
  use that in the details? Do you think that if people are
• 17:04
  coming out to actually solicit for help, do you think that they
• 17:07
  should be very open, give all the details?

  Or do you think that she that's that's private, that's family,
• 17:16
  whether she has kids or not, if she doesn't want to disclose

  that, that is her business. Do you think that Fina was

  right? Or do you who do you support?
