Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Big 98.7.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Have you ever been called out by your kids in public?
- 0:09Speaker 2: Let us know. 701-280-1987. Thankfully, this did not happen in public,
- 0:16Speaker 2: but I did have to have a discussion with my son, Liam,
- 0:20Speaker 2: who's nine.
- 0:22Speaker 3: And I was we were just at home.
- 0:23Speaker 4: I love Liam.
- 0:25Speaker 5: I'm so excited for this story.
- 0:27Speaker 6: How did he call you out?
- 0:28Speaker 2: Well, OK, so we were at home and I'm going
- 0:31Speaker 2: to out myself right now. as a little bit of
- 0:35Speaker 2: a liar and I don't do it often, but sometimes
- 0:38Speaker 2: I do.
- 0:39Speaker 3: And I know that you've done it too.
- 0:41Speaker 2: This is the thing I was telling Mikey, we, we
- 0:44Speaker 2: had plans with someone.
- 0:47Speaker 3: For this weekend, but it's just such a busy weekend.
- 0:49Speaker 3: And I don't, I just kind of don't feel like it.
- 0:51Speaker 7: Right.
- 0:52Speaker 2: And so I told Mikey, Oh, I'm just going to
- 0:54Speaker 2: text and say that.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Can we rain check? Because we have plans.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 0:59Speaker 4: We do not.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Have really real plans.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:02Speaker 4: You could if you wanted to.
- 1:03Speaker 3: I could if I wanted to, and I don't want to.
- 1:06Speaker 2: So I said this out loud to Mikey as I'm, like,
- 1:09Speaker 2: about to text, and Liam.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Goes, you don't have plans.
- 1:12Speaker 4: What are you talking about?
- 1:13Speaker 3: What are we doing? What plans?
- 1:16Speaker 1: What's happening?
- 1:16Speaker 3: And I'm like, nothing. I'm just saying. And he goes, oh,
- 1:19Speaker 3: so you're lying.
- 1:20Speaker 1: And I... Yes.
- 1:22Speaker 3: But lying is bad.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I'm lying so bad.
- 1:26Speaker 6: Yes, Liam, it is.
- 1:28Speaker 2: But like, I don't want to hurt this person's feeling. Oh,
- 1:30Speaker 2: so if you don't want to hurt people's feelings, you
- 1:32Speaker 2: just lie. And he just, well, he would not stop.
- 1:35Speaker 3: He was relentless.
- 1:36Speaker 2: And also, right. Because if I were like a real adult,
- 1:39Speaker 2: I could just say, hey, I'm not up to it
- 1:40Speaker 2: this weekend. But like, I don't know, something in me
- 1:43Speaker 2: has conditioned me to not.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Be able to do that.
- 1:46Speaker 8: Life in general has conditioned all of us to be
- 1:49Speaker 8: that way.
- 1:49Speaker 6: Like because we don't want to hurt somebody's feelings. We'd
- 1:52Speaker 6: rather just kind of fib about what's going on.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Liam clearly doesn't care about hurting anybody's feelings.
- 1:58Speaker 3: He's like, just say the truth. But then I did
- 2:00Speaker 3: have a talk with him.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Like, listen, even if there are times like that, you
- 2:04Speaker 2: hear me say something.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Maybe you don't agree with it.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Maybe I need you to not call me out, especially
- 2:08Speaker 2: don't ever do this in public.
- 2:10Speaker 6: Or in front of the person I'm saying it to.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Or in front of the person.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Like, do not ever call me out in public ever
- 2:15Speaker 2: because grounded forever.
- 2:16Speaker 5: Right.
- 2:16Speaker 2: And again, unfair to him because really I should be
- 2:21Speaker 2: a better person, but I'm not.
- 2:23Speaker 1: All right.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Well, that's also just life. Life's not fair sometimes.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Yes, life's not fair. So just don't ever call me
- 2:29Speaker 3: out in public.
- 2:30Speaker 8: Kid, one day you're going to grow up to be
- 2:31Speaker 8: an adult and you're going to understand where all of
- 2:34Speaker 8: us are coming from.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 8: And any adult who says they've never done this lies
- 2:38Speaker 8: right there.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:39Speaker 2: But if your kid has called you out in public,
- 2:43Speaker 2: just to make me feel better, tell us about it.
- 2:45Speaker 3: 701-201-987.
- 2:48Speaker 4: I have a story that my dad loves.
- 2:49Speaker 5: It's like his favorite Thanksgiving, the entire family's around story.
- 2:54Speaker 5: And I was a very young kid. Right, maybe a
- 2:56Speaker 5: little bit younger than Liam.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Six, seven-ish.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:59Speaker 5: And my grandparents, both of them, lived in a tiny
- 3:02Speaker 5: town called Wyndham, Minnesota.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Okay. Where we used to have our cabin, they had
- 3:07Speaker 4: the neighbor guy.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:09Speaker 5: And there was one day he was driving with his
- 3:11Speaker 5: pickup truck full of dirt for whatever he had to
- 3:15Speaker 5: use it for. I'm sure he just needed to fill something, right?
- 3:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 5: And we're driving and my grandpa says, oh, I bet
- 3:20Speaker 5: he stole that dirt as like a joke.
- 3:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:23Speaker 5: And we get to say hi to our neighbor and
- 3:25Speaker 5: I walk right up to him at seven, six years old.
- 3:28Speaker 4: And I'm like, hey, did you steal all that dirt?
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 5: My grandpa died laughing because they were like cool with
- 3:36Speaker 5: each other you know they knew each other forever.
- 3:37Speaker 3: But kid right whatever to.
- 3:39Speaker 5: This day my dad every Thanksgiving yells hey remember that
- 3:42Speaker 5: time you made your grandpa die laughing because you said
- 3:44Speaker 5: something you shouldn't have said so I've been on the
- 3:46Speaker 5: other end of this where I kind of called my
- 3:48Speaker 5: grandpa out for calling his neighbor a thief listen.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Kids absorb everything so if you think they're not listening
- 3:55Speaker 2: A they are and B they're gonna bring it.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Out at the most inopportune time.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Big 98.7.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Celebrating life's little victories. Every morning we practice gratitude on
- 4:08Speaker 4: Big 98.7.
- 4:08Speaker 1: If I could, I would.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Keep this feeling in a plastic jar. Bust it out
- 4:13Speaker 4: whenever someone's acting hard.
- 4:15Speaker 5: Share your little victories with us at 701-280-1987.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Kids, I also needed a win that day. All right, Megan,
- 4:24Speaker 4: what's your little victory?
- 4:26Speaker 8: Well, it was not too long ago that I thought
- 4:28Speaker 8: I would give this whole Android thing phone a try
- 4:32Speaker 8: and see how it would go because I wanted a
- 4:34Speaker 8: really good camera.
- 4:36Speaker 6: I decided it's not my thing. And so I'm happy
- 4:39Speaker 6: to say I am back. An iPhone.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I have Apple once again.
- 4:44Speaker 8: I got everything switched over and I got the new one,
- 4:47Speaker 8: the 18.
- 4:48Speaker 6: Like, I'm living high.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Oh, you fancy.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Yeah, and I need to get a case for it
- 4:53Speaker 6: because it came before my case did. So there's that.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Thank God when I text Megan, it's not green bubbles.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I know.
- 4:58Speaker 3: It's the green bubbles. And green's my favorite color. No,
- 5:01Speaker 3: I hate it. I hate it in a message.
- 5:04Speaker 6: Not this green.
- 5:05Speaker 4: It's magical.
- 5:05Speaker 5: I might text Megan all morning from the studio here
- 5:08Speaker 5: just to appreciate the blue bubbles.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Look at those blue bubbles.
- 5:11Speaker 6: They're so pretty.
- 5:12Speaker 3: We're all on the same page now. I love this.
- 5:14Speaker 5: You got a good Halloween vibe going on. You came
- 5:17Speaker 5: in with the hat today. I can't quite see the
- 5:19Speaker 5: rest of the outfit.
- 5:19Speaker 6: That's okay.
- 5:20Speaker 3: No, it's vibes. It's vibes.
- 5:21Speaker 4: What do you got going on?
- 5:22Speaker 8: It's got kind of the witchy vibe going on because
- 5:25Speaker 8: I got the hat, but I got the.
- 5:27Speaker 6: Black and orange plaid pants. I even have, like, kind of, like,
- 5:30Speaker 6: witchy with the buckle shoes here.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Oh, yes, and they're pointed.
- 5:34Speaker 2: No, this is a whole vibe. This is a whole
- 5:36Speaker 2: Halloween vibe.
- 5:36Speaker 4: And you got the jet black hair to match the
- 5:38Speaker 4: jet black shirt.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and even your headphones are purple and, like, obviously
- 5:42Speaker 2: purple and orange for Halloween.
- 5:44Speaker 3: You really knocked it out of the park here.
- 5:45Speaker 5: I try.
- 5:46Speaker 8: I've been saving this one all week for today, actually.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Oh, because tomorrow you've got to wear a flannel.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:52Speaker 8: That's going to be going over the costume. But anyway, Angie,
- 5:56Speaker 8: what's your little victory?
- 5:57Speaker 2: Okay, so all Halloweek long, I have been putting together
- 6:02Speaker 2: ridiculous costumes. If you want to see them, the new
- 6:05Speaker 2: one for today is up on the Big 98. It's
- 6:07Speaker 2: about to be up on the Big 98.7 Facebook page.
- 6:10Speaker 2: But I am very grateful to be able to rope
- 6:14Speaker 2: in my boyfriend Mikey into my nonsense because yesterday when
- 6:18Speaker 2: he got home, From work, I said, I need your
- 6:21Speaker 2: help because yesterday I was a Love Island contestant. And
- 6:25Speaker 2: so I made him, but I.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Was a dude contestant.
- 6:28Speaker 2: So I made Mikey dress up in full drag. He
- 6:32Speaker 2: had a bikini top on, red lipstick, a blonde wig,
- 6:36Speaker 2: and he lent himself to my shenanigans.
- 6:39Speaker 3: And I just never thought.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Back in the day that I would meet someone who
- 6:44Speaker 2: would just so willingly go along with whatever.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Weird crap. I asked him to do it.
- 6:51Speaker 6: He did a great job.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 6:53Speaker 6: I appreciate that.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I've posted it up to, I think, I don't know.
- 6:57Speaker 2: There's so many Halloween posts, but Shout out to my man, Mikey,
- 7:01Speaker 2: for playing Bonnie, my Love Island connection yesterday.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I mean, he committed to the bit.
- 7:07Speaker 2: And I'm just really proud of him. And I'm so
- 7:09Speaker 2: proud to call him my boyfriend.
- 7:12Speaker 6: I love this.
- 7:12Speaker 4: That's wonderful. That's a beautiful story, actually.
- 7:15Speaker 3: What about you, Gabe?
- 7:17Speaker 4: Well, I have two little victories.
- 7:18Speaker 5: My first little victory this morning is I have also
- 7:22Speaker 5: completed Halloweek so far.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Today I have on a green hat. North Dakota hoodie.
- 7:30Speaker 4: You see that?
- 7:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 4: You see that?
- 7:32Speaker 5: And so I am going today as a sexy North Dakotan.
- 7:36Speaker 5: And so I am four of four tomorrow going as
- 7:39Speaker 5: a sexy lumberjack.
- 7:41Speaker 4: I'm going to knock it out of the park.
- 7:43Speaker 3: A sexy lumberjack.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Lumberjack is an actual costume.
- 7:47Speaker 4: I know it is.
- 7:48Speaker 5: I've worn this costume before.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Okay, okay, so I'm not mad at that.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Oh, but you're mad at today?
- 7:53Speaker 3: I'm mad at today, which does not count as a little.
- 7:55Speaker 6: Victory to me.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Not at all.
- 7:57Speaker 5: My other little victory is tomorrow at 3.30, I get
- 8:01Speaker 5: to do my first ever parenting kid school thing at
- 8:06Speaker 5: Kaylee's Daycare or School. They are having like a Halloween
- 8:10Speaker 5: deal where the kids can dress up if they want
- 8:12Speaker 5: and walk the halls.
- 8:14Speaker 4: And get candy. Now, Kaylee can eat zero of it.
- 8:17Speaker 6: And she can't walk.
- 8:18Speaker 5: And she can't walk. So it's going to be dad
- 8:20Speaker 5: carrying a little head wig from Harry Potter. And I
- 8:24Speaker 5: will have on a Harry Potter Halloween costume.
- 8:27Speaker 3: This is beautiful.
- 8:28Speaker 5: At her Halloween party at school tomorrow. So I'm doing
- 8:31Speaker 5: two costumes tomorrow.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I hardly recognize you.
- 8:35Speaker 6: Almost making up for the rest of the week.
- 8:37Speaker 4: That's almost. Well, I think today I knocked it out
- 8:40Speaker 4: of the park.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Sexy Harry Potter.
- 8:42Speaker 5: On the way, we've got Taylor Swift. We'll also have
- 8:45Speaker 5: the Big Scroll coming up on Big 98.7.
- 8:53Speaker 3: This is my favorite thing of all time. It's so great.
- 8:57Speaker 2: As someone who is a diehard Kevin Jonas fan, he's
- 9:01Speaker 2: my favorite brother.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:02Speaker 2: This is my favorite thing that's ever happened. He accidentally
- 9:07Speaker 2: sent a photo.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Of his junk to the football group chat.
- 9:13Speaker 5: What?
- 9:14Speaker 3: Yes.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Well, it wasn't just exactly that.
- 9:19Speaker 3: He didn't just like take one.
- 9:20Speaker 2: It was that there were mirrors in the photo and
- 9:23Speaker 2: he didn't clock that. So whatever he was actually trying
- 9:25Speaker 2: to take a picture of. He didn't realize the reflection.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I don't know why he was hanging out naked.
- 9:29Speaker 6: I was going to say, why is he naked to
- 9:31Speaker 6: begin with?
- 9:31Speaker 3: I don't know, but I like it.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I like to think Kevin Jonas is just walking around
- 9:35Speaker 2: naked all the time.
- 9:36Speaker 3: That is great for me.
- 9:37Speaker 2: But the brothers and everyone in this football group chat
- 9:40Speaker 2: were like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 9:42Speaker 3: We don't need to see that.
- 9:43Speaker 6: What is going on?
- 9:44Speaker 2: And I love that because I know this is so relatable.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I know that people have sent stories. Maybe it's not
- 9:52Speaker 2: always not safe for work, but we've all sent that
- 9:55Speaker 2: text to someone that we did not mean to send.
- 9:58Speaker 8: Oh, shoot.
- 9:58Speaker 3: I sent that.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yes.
- 10:00Speaker 3: So let us know.
- 10:01Speaker 2: When did you accidentally send someone something to someone that
- 10:05Speaker 2: you should not have? Because those are my favorite kind
- 10:08Speaker 2: of stories. My sister, when she got she got a
- 10:11Speaker 2: breast augmentation and we were on the phone and she said,
- 10:14Speaker 2: can I show you?
- 10:15Speaker 3: And I said, yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 2: So she took a picture of herself topless. And sent
- 10:19Speaker 2: it to, well, she thought it was just to me.
- 10:22Speaker 2: She sent it in the sibling group chat on accident,
- 10:24Speaker 2: which has my two brothers in it.
- 10:27Speaker 3: And then it was too late.
- 10:29Speaker 2: My little brother said, I deleted it immediately, but I
- 10:31Speaker 2: think the doctor did a good job.
- 10:32Speaker 4: That's great.
- 10:35Speaker 5: He has no idea how to be a kind brother
- 10:39Speaker 5: with also saying gross at the same time.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And then my older brother, he sent in return a
- 10:45Speaker 2: topless photo of himself.
- 10:47Speaker 3: So they all took it in stride.
- 10:49Speaker 6: Your brothers are great. Mine would not have handled that well.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Have you ever sent something to someone that you weren't
- 10:55Speaker 2: supposed to?
- 10:56Speaker 8: You know, I know I've sent several text messages where
- 10:58Speaker 8: it's like it sends off and I'm like mad that
- 11:01Speaker 8: the person hasn't responded because I need a response back.
- 11:03Speaker 8: And then I realize I sent it to the wrong person.
- 11:06Speaker 6: But I haven't sent anything scandalous.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Nothing scandalous.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I know.
- 11:09Speaker 6: I'm really bored over here. I'm not going to lie.
- 11:11Speaker 3: What about you, Gabe?
- 11:13Speaker 5: I don't think so. Well, there was one, and I
- 11:17Speaker 5: don't think it was that bad. But there was this
- 11:19Speaker 5: time in high school, there was this girl I was
- 11:21Speaker 5: going to ask to prom. And my buddy really didn't
- 11:24Speaker 5: want me to ask her to prom. He wanted me
- 11:26Speaker 5: to ask someone else. I don't know if the girl
- 11:28Speaker 5: he was going with was better friends with someone else
- 11:30Speaker 5: or what have you. And I texted him back at 2.30
- 11:33Speaker 5: in the morning. I was like, dude, just chill. I'm
- 11:34Speaker 5: going to ask her. We'll all have a good time.
- 11:36Speaker 5: She doesn't need to, like, no, you probably don't care
- 11:38Speaker 5: about her or like her or whatever.
- 11:40Speaker 4: And, of course, I sent that to her on accident.
- 11:43Speaker 4: That is terrible.
- 11:45Speaker 5: But I didn't do that. I didn't say that. You
- 11:48Speaker 5: know what I'm saying? So it didn't make me look bad,
- 11:49Speaker 5: but it made my friend look bad.
- 11:51Speaker 6: Did she know what friend you were talking about?
- 11:53Speaker 5: She knew exactly what friend I was talking about.
- 11:54Speaker 4: He's one of my best friends.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Your only friend.
- 11:57Speaker 6: It's fine.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Well, when you only got two.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Has something like that happened to you? 701-280-1987. I'm guilty
- 12:05Speaker 2: of sending a screenshot to the person I screenshot it.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Oh, sure.
- 12:11Speaker 2: I took a screenshot of a conversation to basically talk crap,
- 12:15Speaker 2: but then I just sent it back to the person.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Which is not great.
- 12:20Speaker 6: Oh, hey, I don't know why I sent this to you. Yeah, no, I.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Definitely got out of it because I was like, oh,
- 12:26Speaker 3: my phone. I don't know why I accidentally sent that.
- 12:28Speaker 3: My bad.
- 12:29Speaker 2: At least I didn't send the screenshot, then talk a
- 12:31Speaker 2: whole bunch of mess and realize after that.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Yeah, right.
- 12:34Speaker 3: But, you know, that'll probably happen to me soon. It's
- 12:37Speaker 3: what I would deserve.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:38Speaker 4: It looks like we have Jennifer on the phone. Jennifer,
- 12:41Speaker 4: what happened?
- 12:42Speaker 7: I sent a picture of my positive pregnancy cast to
- 12:45Speaker 7: our entire family group chat instead of my husband's. We
- 12:49Speaker 7: hadn't even had a chance to talk about it yet,
- 12:52Speaker 7: and suddenly my aunt was calling to congratulate us.
- 12:55Speaker 4: I don't think that's that bad.
- 12:57Speaker 6: Oh, but he didn't know yet.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Who cares, though? He's going to be happy and thrilled
- 13:02Speaker 4: and whatever. Well, yeah, but I care. I don't think
- 13:04Speaker 4: that's that. There's two different levels, okay?
- 13:06Speaker 5: Accidental junk to the boys and, like, pregnancy tests to
- 13:10Speaker 5: my friends and family and not my hubby.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Two different levels.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think as the person who is like
- 13:16Speaker 2: the pregnant one, you have a vision in your head
- 13:19Speaker 2: of like how you want to reveal the news and
- 13:21Speaker 2: you want to share that with.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Your partner first.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Maybe she could have, you know, said, I just wanted
- 13:26Speaker 5: to tell you last, you know, something like that.
- 13:28Speaker 1: No.
- 13:29Speaker 6: No, because if.
- 13:30Speaker 2: The husband is in the group chat, then he's like, well,
- 13:34Speaker 2: wait a minute.
- 13:35Speaker 4: I don't think that was that bad.
- 13:36Speaker 5: If Corey would have told all her friends and family
- 13:38Speaker 5: before me she was pregnant, I wouldn't have cared.
- 13:40Speaker 4: That wouldn't have bothered me at all.
- 13:41Speaker 3: That's what you think right now.
- 13:42Speaker 6: That's what you think.
- 13:43Speaker 4: I'd have just been happy.
- 13:44Speaker 6: I guess.
- 13:45Speaker 1: You know?
- 13:45Speaker 4: Anyway, 701-280-1987.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Have you ever sent a wrong text or even worse,
- 13:51Speaker 5: a wrong photo to someone here with Big 98.7?
- 13:55Speaker 1: Big 98.7.
- 13:57Speaker 4: In the world of rules and gray areas, one morning
- 13:59Speaker 4: show dares to ask the hard questions. Is it legal
- 14:02Speaker 4: for a child to wear that much makeup?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Is it legal?
- 14:05Speaker 5: I understand.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I understand it's funny as all get out, but is
- 14:08Speaker 1: it even legal?
- 14:09Speaker 4: On Big 98.7.
- 14:13Speaker 5: There are people on Saturday who are going to have
- 14:16Speaker 5: a bowl at the end of their driveway or on
- 14:18Speaker 5: their porch that says, please take one or take a couple.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Happy Halloween and... So forth.
- 14:24Speaker 5: If you are one of those individuals who walks up
- 14:27Speaker 5: and decides, you know what, I'm going to take the
- 14:29Speaker 5: entire bowl of candy for myself.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Shame on you.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Is that legal to do? And the short answer? is no.
- 14:36Speaker 5: In both Fargo and in Moorhead, it can legally be
- 14:41Speaker 5: considered theft or even larceny.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I love this. This is excellent news.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I've never wanted something to be legal so bad.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Let this sink in.
- 14:51Speaker 5: Someone puts out a bowl of candy, the kind of
- 14:53Speaker 5: on your honor system. They're trusting the neighbors. And you
- 14:56Speaker 5: looked at that sign, looked at the bowl and you thought, yeah,
- 14:59Speaker 5: I'm built different. Well, congratulations. You are not a trick-or-treater.
- 15:04Speaker 5: You are a criminal with a pillowcase.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yeah!
- 15:07Speaker 5: And to be honest, the headline for that would be
- 15:10Speaker 5: absolutely hilarious. Local adult arrested over fun-sized Snickers. You're probably
- 15:15Speaker 5: going to be in your costume as well. So if
- 15:17Speaker 5: you do this, can you at least get caught so
- 15:20Speaker 5: we all can enjoy the.
- 15:22Speaker 6: Oh, and let's be honest.
- 15:23Speaker 8: Everybody's got a ring camera or something that's going to
- 15:26Speaker 8: catch this.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Yes, it goes viral. These go viral all the time.
- 15:31Speaker 2: But I wonder if those people knew those little hooligans
- 15:35Speaker 2: can be charged.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Trouble now. So this is your kind of reminder.
- 15:39Speaker 5: Take one, you know, maybe take two and then be
- 15:42Speaker 5: on your merry way to the next house.
- 15:44Speaker 4: So I'm with you.
- 15:46Speaker 5: I have never wanted something to be... possible to charge
- 15:50Speaker 5: with a crime so bad in my life just grab
- 15:53Speaker 5: your little one or two pieces and keep it pushing
- 15:55Speaker 5: or or.
- 15:56Speaker 8: Make sure you take the sign with you with the
- 15:57Speaker 8: candy and there's no evidence that that was.
- 16:01Speaker 1: There to begin with.
- 16:07Speaker 8: I love it ghosts hauntings things you can't explain do
- 16:11Speaker 8: you have a creepy real life experience because that's what
- 16:15Speaker 8: i want.
- 16:15Speaker 6: To know Because I don't know about you guys.
- 16:17Speaker 8: Did you guys ever like grow up with like ghost
- 16:19Speaker 8: stories and stuff like that?
- 16:20Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:21Speaker 6: Like true ghost stories?
- 16:23Speaker 1: Yes.
- 16:24Speaker 4: Because I got nothing.
- 16:25Speaker 7: Really?
- 16:26Speaker 4: The ghosts were always just my buddies.
- 16:29Speaker 8: Because growing up, we always had different ghost stories, especially.
- 16:32Speaker 8: So I grew up on the reservation. And so there's
- 16:34Speaker 8: a lot of different like urban legend stories. And one
- 16:37Speaker 8: of them was near Menoman on the highway there, 200.
- 16:42Speaker 8: It was always there was always this myth about a
- 16:45Speaker 8: hitchhiker that would walk and be on the side of
- 16:48Speaker 8: 200 that you would see and maybe like a, like
- 16:50Speaker 8: a foggy, rainy, stormy night or something like that.
- 16:53Speaker 6: And the myth was that you would, or the story
- 16:57Speaker 6: went that.
- 16:57Speaker 8: You would pick up the hitchhiker, give you an address,
- 17:00Speaker 8: you'd be driving and just as you're about there, you
- 17:02Speaker 8: turn and you realize the hitchhiker is not there anymore.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Stop, I hate it. Oh my gosh, that gave me
- 17:06Speaker 3: chills right now.
- 17:07Speaker 8: So my friends and I, this really became prevalent around
- 17:10Speaker 8: Halloween time. There was times where I remember I was
- 17:14Speaker 8: thinking of as a senior and my friends and I
- 17:15Speaker 8: were like.
- 17:16Speaker 6: Let's go drive on Highway 200 and see if we
- 17:18Speaker 6: see the hitchhiker. And we thought we saw somebody on
- 17:20Speaker 6: the side of the road. We screamed, we turned around,
- 17:22Speaker 6: and we laughed.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, no, I believe you. I believe in
- 17:26Speaker 3: all the paranormal stuff.
- 17:27Speaker 5: This actually just kind of sounds like an uncle of mine.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 6: You know, way to just ruin the creepiness, okay?
- 17:34Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 17:35Speaker 8: Okay, but I mean, I love a good, I am
- 17:38Speaker 8: a chicken through and through, but I love a good
- 17:40Speaker 8: ghost story and I like to hear them and they
- 17:41Speaker 8: kind of creep me out even more.
- 17:43Speaker 6: Angie, what's yours?
- 17:44Speaker 2: Well, let us know, 701-280-1987 if you have like a
- 17:45Speaker 2: paranormal story that you want to share with us. In
- 17:52Speaker 2: honor of spooky season, for me.
- 17:55Speaker 3: This for real happened. This legit happened.
- 17:58Speaker 2: So when I was in elementary school, my sister and I,
- 18:00Speaker 2: we shared a bedroom. Our beds were parallel to each
- 18:03Speaker 2: other and we would sleep on the same side of
- 18:06Speaker 2: the bed.
- 18:06Speaker 3: So like her head was towards. One side. No, no,
- 18:10Speaker 3: we'd sleep opposite.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Her head was on one end of her bed and
- 18:12Speaker 2: then my head would be on the other end of
- 18:14Speaker 2: my bed. But one night I woke up in the
- 18:16Speaker 2: middle of the night and I looked to my left
- 18:18Speaker 2: and there was a head where it shouldn't be because
- 18:21Speaker 2: my sister doesn't.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Sleep that way. And so I caught up.
- 18:24Speaker 2: And I was inching closer towards the bed thinking surely
- 18:28Speaker 2: I'm just seeing like the covers are crumpled up, weird, whatever. No,
- 18:32Speaker 2: it was an Asian woman in traditional garb lying there
- 18:37Speaker 2: dead in.
- 18:38Speaker 3: My sister's bed.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I'm telling you this is real. And so then I
- 18:42Speaker 2: got really, really super close and I thought there's no way.
- 18:44Speaker 3: There's no way.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Why hasn't it disappeared? And I went to touch her face.
- 18:48Speaker 2: And I got so close that I was like, I
- 18:50Speaker 2: can't handle this.
- 18:51Speaker 3: And I got scared.
- 18:52Speaker 2: And then I went back to bed and I went
- 18:54Speaker 2: under the covers and I tried to fall asleep.
- 18:56Speaker 1: And then.
- 18:57Speaker 3: The next morning, she was not there. But that really happened.
- 19:01Speaker 3: That really happened. I just remember it so vividly. I
- 19:04Speaker 3: could feel like a chill in my... It was horrible.
- 19:06Speaker 6: Okay, I got goosebumps just hearing that, knowing that it
- 19:08Speaker 6: was real.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Gabe was rolling his eyes the entire time.
- 19:13Speaker 4: He's like, whatever. No, I was not rolling my eyes.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 19:15Speaker 6: I just sat here and was paying attention.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Okay, shh.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Sure.
- 19:20Speaker 4: I've had nothing of the sort happen ever.
- 19:22Speaker 5: Zero. All the ghosts that I've ever been told about
- 19:25Speaker 5: or heard about, I always would just go try to
- 19:28Speaker 5: become their bestie. They were Casper to me growing up.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Jewel said on the Facebook page.
- 19:36Speaker 6: Move on.
- 19:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Jewel said, I have odd things happening often in my
- 19:41Speaker 2: old farmhouse.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Things moving, missing, etc.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I have an image caught on camera. I never believed
- 19:48Speaker 2: these things before.
- 19:49Speaker 3: I do now.
- 19:51Speaker 2: What a tease, Jewel, because why did you not drop
- 19:54Speaker 2: the image in the comments?
- 19:55Speaker 3: Please send it to us.
- 19:57Speaker 6: Oh, my gosh.
- 19:58Speaker 3: That's so creepy.
- 19:59Speaker 8: Jess says, my house I grew up in was super creepy.
- 20:02Speaker 8: Used to hear footsteps at night and see creepy stuff.
- 20:05Speaker 6: I need to hear more of the creepy stuff that
- 20:06Speaker 6: you saw.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Yes, I need the details.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Right?
- 20:09Speaker 6: There's a bunch of them here. I love this.
- 20:10Speaker 8: So if you want to share your story too, over
- 20:12Speaker 8: on the big 98.7 Facebook page, because Nicole says living
- 20:16Speaker 8: in an old house, woke up to someone there.
- 20:19Speaker 6: I lived alone at the time.
- 20:20Speaker 2: No.
- 20:21Speaker 1: No. Okay.
- 20:22Speaker 6: See these things screaming out.
- 20:24Speaker 3: I mean, we have like chills. We have goosebumps and
- 20:26Speaker 3: games over here. Like I ain't afraid of no ghost.
- 20:29Speaker 4: I'm trying to go spend the night. I'm trying to
- 20:31Speaker 4: say what up to these individuals.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Big 98.7. I need some good.
- 20:39Speaker 4: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 20:42Speaker 4: Good News on Big 98.7.
- 20:44Speaker 5: Today's Gabe's Good News of the day is all about
- 20:49Speaker 5: this girl named Kaylin from Enderlin. So around 59 miles
- 20:54Speaker 5: away or so, at least according to Hope.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Kaylin.
- 20:58Speaker 5: For the past handful of years, has been participating in
- 21:02Speaker 5: bras on Big 98.7. And every year, she has brought
- 21:06Speaker 5: more bras than the last. Last year, she brought 286
- 21:09Speaker 5: bras for a donation.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Well, you know what?
- 21:14Speaker 5: She did it. She beat last year. So it was
- 21:17Speaker 5: right around this time we talked about Kaylin the first time.
- 21:19Speaker 5: But she said they were headed up to drop off
- 21:22Speaker 5: 334 bras.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Woo!
- 21:27Speaker 5: She did it as an FCCLA community project as she's
- 21:32Speaker 5: no longer a Girl Scout. This used to be a
- 21:33Speaker 5: Girl Scout situation, but she wanted to continue to support
- 21:37Speaker 5: this amazing organization. We did get a picture of Kaylin
- 21:42Speaker 5: on Facebook and all of the bras that she has brought,
- 21:45Speaker 5: which we will, well, we got a message, excuse me.
- 21:47Speaker 5: And so we will get that onto Facebook for you.
- 21:50Speaker 5: So a huge shout out to Kaylin who just keeps.
- 21:52Speaker 6: That just warms my heart so much.
- 21:55Speaker 5: Beating the goal every single year. And she kind of
- 21:58Speaker 5: crushed last year's goal. Last year, we were super impressed
- 22:03Speaker 5: with 286. 334, you know, quick math, that's like 50
- 22:05Speaker 5: or so more bras.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and for each one of those bras, Corwin Automotive
- 22:10Speaker 2: is donating $ 10 for bras on Big 98.7. All the
- 22:14Speaker 2: proceeds benefiting Essentia Health Foundation, of course. to provide those
- 22:18Speaker 2: comfort items for those going through cancer treatment.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Ah, what a great story.
- 22:23Speaker 6: Thank you, Kaylin.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Round of applause for Kaylin here today. Way to go.
- 22:26Speaker 5: Don't forget the world is full of nice people.
- 22:28Speaker 4: If you can't find one, you got to be one.
- 22:30Speaker 4: And broken crayons, they still color.
