- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The rex was
- 0:06Speaker 2: not chasing the jeep. Murray Murry, you there. You love sandwiches. Huh,
- 0:11Speaker 2: let's go to uh eighty.
- 0:13Speaker 3: It was bo wow that prime time. Maybe I had
- 0:18Speaker 3: a crush on Betty Rubbell. I honestly, until after the
- 0:21Speaker 3: segment ended and we went to commercial break, had no
- 0:23Speaker 3: idea that Jonathan Coachman was black. He caught them the
- 0:26Speaker 3: game last night, although they won the game. You're listening
- 0:30Speaker 3: just to Godsend Company. The Great Michael Kay nice enough
- 0:33Speaker 3: to spend some time with us boys of the Yankees.
- 0:35Speaker 3: You can check out his show one to three pm
- 0:37Speaker 3: Eastern on ESPN Radio in New York. And he was
- 0:41Speaker 3: telling us right before we started, here no longer doing afternoons.
- 0:44Speaker 3: So has the new shift, the shorter shift one to
- 0:46Speaker 3: three in the afternoon, Because you were telling us right
- 0:48Speaker 3: before we started, it's changed your life.
- 0:51Speaker 4: It's changed my life for the better. Because I'll tell
- 0:53Speaker 4: you what, I don't think I could have gone on
- 0:56Speaker 4: doing that grind to the afternoon show because it was
- 0:59Speaker 4: three and a half four hours according if there was
- 1:01Speaker 4: a Nick or Ranger game. So I mean that's a
- 1:03Speaker 4: lot even though you do I was doing it with
- 1:05Speaker 4: Donal and Peter. That's a lot of talking and you
- 1:09Speaker 4: have to have a lot of content. And you know,
- 1:11Speaker 4: we all took it very seriously. So he just didn't
- 1:13Speaker 4: come onto the show with you know, winging it. We
- 1:16Speaker 4: you know, we had things planned and stuff like that,
- 1:19Speaker 4: and I just I just said, at the end of
- 1:21Speaker 4: this last contract, which was two years ago, I said
- 1:23Speaker 4: that I think that's going to do it. You know,
- 1:26Speaker 4: I've got young kids. I got to see them grow up.
- 1:28Speaker 4: I'm not going to be around that long. I started late,
- 1:32Speaker 4: and the people are good Karma. They run the radio
- 1:35Speaker 4: stations for ESPN. He said, well, what would you think
- 1:39Speaker 4: about doing a shorter show? And I said, the time
- 1:43Speaker 4: is tough, though, Like I don't want to like run
- 1:46Speaker 4: up to the booth and do the Yankee game right
- 1:47Speaker 4: after did the radio show, which I did for twenty years. Yes,
- 1:51Speaker 4: And I said no, no, how about something earlier? What
- 1:54Speaker 4: would one to three work? And I said really And
- 1:57Speaker 4: they said yeah, And I said yeah, And I said
- 1:59Speaker 4: would you do it? I said, if you want me to.
- 2:01Speaker 4: And it's because they want to keep Donna Peter in
- 2:04Speaker 4: the afternoon and Stu. I'm telling you, like, they allow
- 2:07Speaker 4: me to do the show at home, right, Yes, And
- 2:10Speaker 4: so I ended three o'clock. I'm at the stadium at four.
- 2:13Speaker 4: I drive leisurely and don't drive like a mad man.
- 2:15Speaker 4: I've got three hours to prepare for the game as
- 2:19Speaker 4: we speak right now in Tampa. So I do it
- 2:21Speaker 4: from the hotel room and then I just, you know,
- 2:24Speaker 4: get in an uber and go to the ballpark. I
- 2:27Speaker 4: just feel like there's a weight lifted off my shoulders.
- 2:30Speaker 4: It's unbelievable. Yes, sometimes I think it's too good.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Yes, you look better, you look healthier. This is the
- 2:35Speaker 3: healthiest I've seen you in years.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Don't worry. I feel like crap.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Right, We're early in the season.
- 2:44Speaker 4: So yes, well, jack back.
- 2:45Speaker 3: But I know Stephen Craig very well. The guys who
- 2:48Speaker 3: run Good Karma that they are very family oriented. So
- 2:51Speaker 3: I'm certain they understood exactly what it is you were saying, right.
- 2:54Speaker 4: They really did. And I told them something when when
- 2:57Speaker 4: they first took over. I like how they think, you know,
- 3:01Speaker 4: I like their vision, and I said, I only wish
- 3:03Speaker 4: that I had met you earlier so that I could
- 3:06Speaker 4: be on this journey with you. And they said, well,
- 3:08Speaker 4: what do you mean. I think when I met them,
- 3:10Speaker 4: I was like sixty two or something, and they said, well,
- 3:15Speaker 4: you could do this for a long time. It's not
- 3:17Speaker 4: you know, it's not like lifting weights. And I just
- 3:20Speaker 4: don't know if I could keep up this pace. And
- 3:22Speaker 4: the other ones who came up, it's not like I
- 3:23Speaker 4: went up to them and said, hey, how about a
- 3:25Speaker 4: two hour show. They're the ones who came up with it.
- 3:27Speaker 4: And you know they've they've been great. They're really I'm
- 3:30Speaker 4: glad that you know that they're great people.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I'll get to the Yankees here in just a second.
- 3:35Speaker 3: How often, though, when you were doing it afternoon, did
- 3:37Speaker 3: you carry the show into the booth with you that night,
- 3:39Speaker 3: because it's hard to turn it off? What just do what?
- 3:41Speaker 3: You know after the show? It's taught. I don't know
- 3:43Speaker 3: how you did it, Michael. I got to be honest
- 3:46Speaker 3: for money, but.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I'll do it.
- 3:50Speaker 4: I did it. I would carry it into the booth
- 3:57Speaker 4: if there was something contentious, right because people that's the
- 4:01Speaker 4: people that call in they get really nasty, and not
- 4:04Speaker 4: so much on the radio because that's somewhat I mean,
- 4:07Speaker 4: there are guardrails. You could dump somebody, but I listen,
- 4:11Speaker 4: I'm not gonna lie. I would look at social media
- 4:13Speaker 4: and the viciousness and the nastiness and the cool aspect
- 4:17Speaker 4: of it. You would bring it up and it would
- 4:19Speaker 4: be weighing on you. Man, like you go, Wow, I'm
- 4:23Speaker 4: a pretty nice person watching somebody. I would never speak
- 4:26Speaker 4: to somebody the way they speak to us. You know.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Of course, they just think that they could say whatever
- 4:32Speaker 4: they want because there's a firewall, and the bronx in
- 4:35Speaker 4: me would come out. Well, if that guy was in
- 4:37Speaker 4: front of me.
- 4:38Speaker 5: You know.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Now I'm sixty five. I'm not going to be fighting
- 4:40Speaker 4: any fans. So it's a lot better. Gives me four
- 4:43Speaker 4: hours to get over it.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Michael, I'm getting started in my radio career and sometimes
- 4:49Speaker 5: I'm on the mic and it feels like I'm just
- 4:51Speaker 5: saying things to say things. Do you ever sometimes forget
- 4:54Speaker 5: what you say?
- 4:56Speaker 4: Of course, your mind does wander. But I'll tell you
- 5:00Speaker 4: about the thing that got me the most teller, especially
- 5:03Speaker 4: doing the show alone, is you know the old Springsteen line,
- 5:07Speaker 4: is anybody alive out there? So when I took over
- 5:13Speaker 4: the two hour show, that was when we moved to
- 5:16Speaker 4: eight eighty, so we lost a lot of a different
- 5:20Speaker 4: audience that was on the FM dial. So and when
- 5:23Speaker 4: I moved to one o'clock, a lot of people didn't
- 5:27Speaker 4: know where to find me. So then all of a sudden,
- 5:29Speaker 4: you're doing two hours, right, yeah, and no one's calling.
- 5:33Speaker 4: And then you you know, that's every talk show guy's
- 5:36Speaker 4: worst nightmare, that the phones are down. And then you know,
- 5:40Speaker 4: even though it's just two hours, two hours talking is
- 5:43Speaker 4: an awful lot. And so for the first two weeks,
- 5:46Speaker 4: I said, what did I do? This is ridiculous, and
- 5:50Speaker 4: then people found it, and now the phone lines are
- 5:53Speaker 4: always lit and it's just like I call the people
- 5:56Speaker 4: that listen. Now my co host, I give the number.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I go, You're like homes when you talk. It's just
- 6:01Speaker 4: the two of us talking about sports, and that has
- 6:04Speaker 4: worked out as resonated with people. But yeah, sometimes you're
- 6:07Speaker 4: talking and go, what do I just say? So you
- 6:09Speaker 4: definitely have to keep the concentration.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Michael.
- 6:13Speaker 6: We've listened to Taylor talk about North Carolina so much,
- 6:16Speaker 6: and it's nice to have somebody finally who has been
- 6:19Speaker 6: to a good, uh, a great educational institution.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Like yeah, but awful sports.
- 6:27Speaker 6: Sports, but great sports broadcasting. And and Taylor likes to
- 6:31Speaker 6: likes to pretend like you forgot what he said.
- 6:33Speaker 1: But we don't let him.
- 6:35Speaker 6: So he said the other day he would not trade
- 6:38Speaker 6: one for one Cam Schlitzler for Paul Skeins.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Yeah, he's ridiculous, he's absurd. He's prisoner of the moment. Michael, Wow,
- 6:46Speaker 3: straight up, Jesus, I.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Said, you have you have to make that trade because
- 6:52Speaker 4: Paul Skins is younger. Obviously he's won a sig Young Award.
- 6:55Speaker 4: I think that I think that camp Slipp has an
- 6:57Speaker 4: unbelievable career ahead of him, but he's already twenty five.
- 7:00Speaker 4: I think Paul Skins is twenty two. So tell her,
- 7:03Speaker 4: maybe you should. You said that, Michael.
- 7:07Speaker 5: My argument was when it's a homegrown guy, it feels better.
- 7:12Speaker 7: So the fact that Guess Whittler came one of our own, Yes,
- 7:16Speaker 7: I'm good with him.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Oh I would agree. But I mean, if, okay, who
- 7:20Speaker 4: do you want to starting the seven game of the
- 7:21Speaker 4: Although Cam schlutan pitched the do or Die game and
- 7:25Speaker 4: and no.
- 7:25Speaker 3: But Michael state, no, but stay in trench there, because
- 7:27Speaker 3: you're right. I asked him this question, Schemes or Schlittler,
- 7:30Speaker 3: who do you want pitching your game? Seven, and I
- 7:31Speaker 3: know he was great last year, but you're still taking skiings.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Come on, in all likelihood you are. I'm just wondering, Teller,
- 7:39Speaker 4: what agent you know? Professional coach are you hiring next
- 7:41Speaker 4: in North Carolina?
- 7:44Speaker 5: So if our baseball coach gets fired, we'll probably hire
- 7:48Speaker 5: Aaron Boone because his son goes to North Carolina.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Or maybe Buck Showalter go for the seventy year old
- 7:54Speaker 4: Tony LaRussa Jim Leland.
- 7:58Speaker 3: The audacity of a North Carolina out of the Caraban
- 8:00Speaker 3: would leave the Yankees job to take the Carolina baseball job.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Although I'll tell you what, his son loves working for Belichick.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I've talked to Aaron about it and he says Belichick
- 8:10Speaker 4: is just awesome. So we'll see if you can turn
- 8:12Speaker 4: them that around in year two.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so funny. The other thing, Taylor Or that
- 8:17Speaker 3: we wanted to discuss with you during the World Baseball Classic,
- 8:20Speaker 3: Tailor could not get himself to root for Team USA
- 8:23Speaker 3: entirely because he refused to root for Roman Anthony, who's
- 8:27Speaker 3: a Red Sox. Is that fair or unfair? Do you
- 8:29Speaker 3: have to put your feelings aside there and just root
- 8:32Speaker 3: for the United States of America. What do you do there, Michael, Well, I.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Mean, Taylor, you certainly have the right to root for
- 8:37Speaker 4: whoever you want. But if you're a good American, and
- 8:40Speaker 4: you know, we have to doubt whether you are or not,
- 8:44Speaker 4: you have to root for Team US because you know
- 8:46Speaker 4: Aaron Judges on the same team as wrong and Anthony too,
- 8:49Speaker 4: So yes, you know, if they could be teammates, I
- 8:51Speaker 4: guess we could root for them, But it's a little
- 8:54Speaker 4: bit of a truma. I don't want to. I don't
- 8:56Speaker 4: want to pile on Taylor here.
- 8:59Speaker 7: We do.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Right now. I do want to ask Taylor one question.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Who's the most famous Jordan in North Carolina history? Michael Jordan.
- 9:09Speaker 7: Jordan Hudson.
- 9:14Speaker 4: I think he's right, But it's a great question. Maybe
- 9:18Speaker 4: we shouldn't say it that way.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Probably not. Probably not. That's a really good question.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Michael will take it personally.
- 9:30Speaker 3: What'd you make speaking of the World Baseball Classic, of
- 9:33Speaker 3: all the criticism that Aaron Judge got, that he cared
- 9:36Speaker 3: more about that thing and was a better leader during
- 9:38Speaker 3: that thing than he's been as a New York Yankee.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I was laughing at him.
- 9:42Speaker 4: I'm amazed at the narrative surrounding Aaron Judge, people just
- 9:46Speaker 4: want to like take one of the greatest prayers we'll
- 9:48Speaker 4: ever see and just bring him down the size. And
- 9:50Speaker 4: he never said that, you know, it was bigger than
- 9:53Speaker 4: the world He said that the crowds and stuff like
- 9:55Speaker 4: that he understood. He didn't say that. There are players
- 9:58Speaker 4: on some of the teams that said they'd rather win
- 10:00Speaker 4: than the World Series that I don't understand. Yeah, and
- 10:02Speaker 4: it seems like it seems like the guys that were
- 10:04Speaker 4: playing for the other countries, they felt that that was
- 10:06Speaker 4: bigger than the World Series. And you know, if I'm
- 10:08Speaker 4: one of those guys, and I'm the owner of a
- 10:10Speaker 4: team that that guy plays for and I'm paying him
- 10:12Speaker 4: fifteen million a year and he'd rather win the WBC
- 10:15Speaker 4: than win the World Series, I have a hard time
- 10:19Speaker 4: wrapping my big head around that.
- 10:21Speaker 3: You guys played the You guys, I mean, you call
- 10:24Speaker 3: it the Games, but the Yankees played the Marlins. We
- 10:26Speaker 3: all agree that the Marlins lead the league and feist.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Are the Marlins a little bit better than people expected
- 10:31Speaker 3: them to me?
- 10:32Speaker 4: Yeah, they're pretty good. I mean the bottom of their
- 10:34Speaker 4: order is a little questionable. The top five are really
- 10:37Speaker 4: really tough players that know how to play the game,
- 10:41Speaker 4: and they've got pitching too, so I think I think
- 10:44Speaker 4: they're going to be around five hundred, and the way
- 10:46Speaker 4: it breaks down in the National League, maybe they'll be
- 10:49Speaker 4: battling for a wild character at the end. They did
- 10:51Speaker 4: it last year and now they've got another year under
- 10:54Speaker 4: their belt. There's some pretty good players there. I'm just
- 10:57Speaker 4: worried about the field who did so well. I don't
- 11:01Speaker 4: know why his name is an escaping marror now Mars
- 11:03Speaker 4: says he did great. Yeah, yeah, Marcy. He did great
- 11:06Speaker 4: when he came up and like toured the andy slowed
- 11:09Speaker 4: down and he's had a really tough start as well.
- 11:11Speaker 4: I like that guy. I like the kind of game
- 11:13Speaker 4: he plays, so I hope he wasn't just like a
- 11:15Speaker 4: couple of month.
- 11:16Speaker 6: Wonder how important is it going to be for Volpi
- 11:19Speaker 6: to get off to a hot start when he returns,
- 11:21Speaker 6: considering the backlash he received last year for having a
- 11:25Speaker 6: bad year.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Well, Michael, it would have been really important if Calbiro
- 11:30Speaker 4: was hitting three hundred. So I think he's gonna have
- 11:33Speaker 4: a little bit of a an easier runway. I remember
- 11:35Speaker 4: I asked Aaron Boone over the winter. I said, what
- 11:37Speaker 4: if Calberrow had three fifty in April and then you
- 11:41Speaker 4: know Volpi is getting ready to come back. And he
- 11:43Speaker 4: smiled and he said, let's see him hit three and fifty.
- 11:45Speaker 4: So I think even if he was hitting three fifty,
- 11:48Speaker 4: they believe in Anthony Volpi and they love Calbiro as
- 11:51Speaker 4: a guy that they could play all around the place.
- 11:53Speaker 4: If you remember when they signed DJ Lemayeu all those
- 11:56Speaker 4: years ago, their idea was to play him every day,
- 11:59Speaker 4: but play him in a differentsition every day. Bring a
- 12:01Speaker 4: bunch of gloves, right, I think they look at cabay
- 12:03Speaker 4: Ara in that way. They it's important for Anthony's future
- 12:06Speaker 4: with the Yankees. I think they have a much better
- 12:08Speaker 4: year than he did last year. But I truly believe
- 12:11Speaker 4: he's a big league ballplayer. But the Yankees have a
- 12:14Speaker 4: really good shortstop that could play major league defense right
- 12:17Speaker 4: now in the minor leagues. That's George Lombard. And if
- 12:20Speaker 4: his back catches up to where his glove is n't
- 12:22Speaker 4: expected to, there's gonna be some pressure. So you got
- 12:25Speaker 4: Jazz Chisholm saying that he wants to, you know, make
- 12:27Speaker 4: thirty five million dollars a year, and a ten year deal.
- 12:30Speaker 4: I don't know if they go there, So maybe maybe
- 12:32Speaker 4: the future is either Lombard or Volty play sacond base
- 12:35Speaker 4: and the other guy plays short.
- 12:37Speaker 5: Michael, I'm in a conundrum right now because of the
- 12:40Speaker 5: Celtics Knicks game. I had the game yesterday going into
- 12:43Speaker 5: it as a show me something game, but I didn't
- 12:46Speaker 5: anticipate what the Knicks would show me would be Josh
- 12:49Speaker 5: Hart hitting threes. And I'm not too sure how sustainable
- 12:53Speaker 5: a model that is for this Nick team playoffs.
- 12:56Speaker 4: It's not a sustainable model, especially if you look at
- 12:59Speaker 4: the old you know, the last couple of years. But
- 13:01Speaker 4: I looked up the stats today because I'm going to
- 13:03Speaker 4: talk about on my you know that Josh Hart this
- 13:05Speaker 4: year is over forty percent from three and he gets
- 13:08Speaker 4: an open look all the time because that's everybody's defensive strategy.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Let him get that look, and if he's going to
- 13:14Speaker 4: knock down forty percent of them, he's going to be
- 13:16Speaker 4: a weapon. I also was excited about that game yesterday, Taylor,
- 13:19Speaker 4: But then you know, Jalen Brown doesn't play, and that's
- 13:21Speaker 4: the NBA. So what is the litmus test? I mean,
- 13:24Speaker 4: unless it's a real Celtic team, and it's a real
- 13:26Speaker 4: Nick team. You know, people saying, well, the Knicks have
- 13:29Speaker 4: beaten the Celtics three out of four times. Well, three
- 13:31Speaker 4: of the games they didn't have Chason Tatum and one
- 13:33Speaker 4: of the games they didn't have Jalen Brown. So if
- 13:35Speaker 4: they meet in the playoffs, that'll be the real litmus test.
- 13:38Speaker 4: And I really believe that that's the problem with the
- 13:40Speaker 4: NBA right now. Regular season games are like what are they?
- 13:44Speaker 4: I mean, who are they? I mean? You when ten
- 13:48Speaker 4: out of the thirty teams lose on purpose, that's not
- 13:50Speaker 4: a great model. It's not a great business model.
- 13:53Speaker 3: With that said, maybe it's it's you know, impossible to predict.
- 13:56Speaker 3: It is impossible to predict. Do you think this is
- 13:58Speaker 3: the best chance the Knicks have had to get to
- 14:00Speaker 3: the NBA Finals at a long time.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I do, and so does their owner. Yeah. Detroit
- 14:06Speaker 4: scares me. If they face in an Atlanta Hawk team
- 14:10Speaker 4: in the first round, that would not be an easy matchup.
- 14:12Speaker 4: They have problems with young, long defensive athletes Scots that
- 14:16Speaker 4: can really get after it, and Detroit is that team.
- 14:20Speaker 4: I think they match up okay with the Celtics, and
- 14:21Speaker 4: even last year or before Tatum got hurt, they were
- 14:24Speaker 4: winning that series. Anyway, the road is clearer than it's
- 14:28Speaker 4: ever been because you know you don't have Indie there.
- 14:31Speaker 4: You know that they're tanking. I think they usually don't
- 14:34Speaker 4: have a problem with Cleveland. I think the big impediment
- 14:37Speaker 4: is going to be Detroit or Boston, and you're gonna
- 14:40Speaker 4: have to face one of them in the second round,
- 14:41Speaker 4: and they're gonna have to face one of them in
- 14:43Speaker 4: the Eastern Conference finals.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Voice of the Yankees, Michael Kay with us one to
- 14:46Speaker 3: three pm every single day, two hour show. It's a
- 14:49Speaker 3: sprint on ESPN Radio in New York. I will get
- 14:53Speaker 3: you out here on this note. Quick baseball question abs
- 14:55Speaker 3: the players they like it? Do they seem to like it?
- 14:57Speaker 3: What do you think about it?
- 15:00Speaker 4: I think they like it with a caveat, I think
- 15:02Speaker 4: it's a lot on your plate. You know. Bobby Valentine
- 15:05Speaker 4: sent out a tweet the other day you can't hit
- 15:07Speaker 4: and worry about that. At the same time, and on
- 15:11Speaker 4: the road trip, the Yankees were unbelievable when they challenged
- 15:14Speaker 4: and this last homestand they were awful and the other
- 15:17Speaker 4: team was really really good. Both the athletics and the
- 15:20Speaker 4: Marlins and the Yankees actually got put into some bad
- 15:23Speaker 4: count situations. I think that if you asked every single
- 15:27Speaker 4: manager in baseball if you had a button in front
- 15:29Speaker 4: of you, yes or no, they would probably go know,
- 15:32Speaker 4: because of all the things that are on their plate,
- 15:35Speaker 4: do you really need that as well? And also the
- 15:37Speaker 4: players have to think about it, and then you have
- 15:39Speaker 4: to think. It becomes almost a game, which is why
- 15:42Speaker 4: I like it, and I think the fans are involved
- 15:44Speaker 4: as well. Do you save it for the ninth inning?
- 15:47Speaker 4: Do you challenge early? Are the people you say, don't
- 15:49Speaker 4: even think about challenging because you're emotional. But I think
- 15:52Speaker 4: it's really good. But there is one unintended consequence. The
- 15:56Speaker 4: games are longer than they've been the last couple of
- 15:59Speaker 4: years with the pitch clock because there's so many walks.
- 16:02Speaker 4: You show with the Marlin series and you said thirty
- 16:04Speaker 4: walks against Miami and they had a lot of walks
- 16:07Speaker 4: against the A's as well. The strike zone is not
- 16:10Speaker 4: big anymore. It it's the strike zone, and if you're
- 16:12Speaker 4: forcing pitchers to throw strikes, they're gonna get hit. So
- 16:15Speaker 4: there's gonna be more base runners and they're gonna walk
- 16:17Speaker 4: people because they don't want to come over that zone.
- 16:20Speaker 4: So I think that's something in baseball is gonna have
- 16:22Speaker 4: to weigh the pros and cons because you'll get into
- 16:26Speaker 4: a two thirty five game was important. Getting it back
- 16:28Speaker 4: to a three hour game because of abs might not
- 16:31Speaker 4: be the ideal thing.
- 16:32Speaker 3: You get paid for longer games or how does that work?
- 16:35Speaker 4: Now? You know what if I did, I would have
- 16:37Speaker 4: made a lot of money for Yankee Orient. It was
- 16:39Speaker 4: four hours each time, so great.
- 16:43Speaker 3: They went to such great lengths to shorten the game.
- 16:45Speaker 3: And you're right now, it's prolonging it.
- 16:47Speaker 4: It's crazy, Yeah, it's prolonging it.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, we appreciate the time as zoeys have
- 16:52Speaker 3: a great show today. Are you glued to the Masters
- 16:54Speaker 3: this week? How does that work? I know you love golf?
- 16:56Speaker 3: Are you into it?
- 16:57Speaker 4: Or you know what I was? I once to my daughters,
- 17:00Speaker 4: you're leading competition one day. I don't know if any
- 17:02Speaker 4: of you guys have daughters. Yea, but comments they're not
- 17:05Speaker 4: they're mind numbing. They sit there and your daughter, actually,
- 17:10Speaker 4: you know, she performed for two minutes and you have
- 17:13Speaker 4: to sit there for six hours watching these other people
- 17:16Speaker 4: that you don't even care about. To see if your
- 17:18Speaker 4: daughter got a medal. Anyway, sitting there and I'm wearing
- 17:23Speaker 4: a vest from Wingfoot, which Fordham gave me, and a
- 17:26Speaker 4: guy wanted to strike up a conversation with me, and
- 17:29Speaker 4: he said to me, he goes, hey, did you like
- 17:31Speaker 4: the golf, mister k I said no, no, no, I actually
- 17:34Speaker 4: enjoy my family. And his wife looked at him and
- 17:37Speaker 4: she said, say, I told you you're only golf just
- 17:40Speaker 4: to get away from us. So I don't golf, and
- 17:42Speaker 4: I'm although I do like the the you know, like
- 17:46Speaker 4: Worry winning last year. That was that was great theater. Yes,
- 17:49Speaker 4: in terms of like following all four rounds, I'm good.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Did you mean you didn't do that guy any favors Michael.
- 17:55Speaker 4: No, No, he got in a fight with his wife,
- 17:57Speaker 4: for sure.
- 17:57Speaker 3: I mean, yes, this coming from the guy who did
- 17:59Speaker 3: a four A radio show right into a Yankee game.
- 18:02Speaker 3: I mean, jesus, do.
- 18:04Speaker 4: You know that if Donald Greta hates Scoff more than
- 18:07Speaker 4: I don't hate golf, Don hates golf, and Don famous
- 18:11Speaker 4: saying is if they played the Masters in my backyard,
- 18:14Speaker 4: I would call the police.
- 18:21Speaker 3: I cannot I can hear him saying that, Yes, it's
- 18:23Speaker 3: very don ish, Michael, thank you so much. Those dances
- 18:27Speaker 3: are funny, those cheerleading things, because I used to eat
- 18:29Speaker 3: my daughter did it, and so you just look at
- 18:32Speaker 3: him holding his hands in his head. But you have to. Yeah,
- 18:35Speaker 3: but I would get her three dances and they were
- 18:37Speaker 3: separated by like two and a half hours a piece, right,
- 18:40Speaker 3: and so I would I would actually go play nine holes,
- 18:42Speaker 3: come back for the next dance. How about that?
- 18:43Speaker 4: Oh see, that's not bad. My daughter always asked me, Dad,
- 18:46Speaker 4: I look in the stands and you're not happy. I said,
- 18:48Speaker 4: I'm not. And she said, but why do you like?
- 18:51Speaker 4: Why do you like to go to Charlie's baseball games?
- 18:53Speaker 4: I said, he plays. He playing the entire game. You
- 18:58Speaker 4: cheerlead for two and a half minutes, and I've got
- 19:01Speaker 4: to watch girls. I don't have any desire to watch.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I have no interest in whether they win or loop.
- 19:06Speaker 4: They don't know how to do half of these things.
- 19:09Speaker 4: And I'm leading for a ribbon and then we have
- 19:11Speaker 4: a three hour drive ahead of us at the end. No,
- 19:13Speaker 4: I'm not having a good time.
- 19:15Speaker 3: You got some stranger trying to chat you up about golm.
- 19:17Speaker 4: I mean it's a leave, right, and I probably got
- 19:20Speaker 4: him divorced with that comment.
- 19:22Speaker 3: You really did such a good comment one to three
- 19:25Speaker 3: pm every single day ESPN Radio went in New York
- 19:28Speaker 3: and of course Voice of the Yankees Michae. Okay, thank

- 21:22Speaker 3: I'm so happy for him. I want to tell him
- 21:24Speaker 3: a quick funny story before we get to his experience
- 21:26Speaker 3: with Taylor and mikey AA and God, I was Sam
- 21:30Speaker 3: and the rest of the crew yesterday. I called mikey
- 21:33Speaker 3: A this morning to have an important conversation to get
- 21:36Speaker 3: his opinion on stuff. Because I've known mikey A for
- 21:38Speaker 3: a long time. I trust him and I love him,
- 21:41Speaker 3: and these were serious, serious topics, and he knew I
- 21:44Speaker 3: needed to have a serious conversation with him. But that
- 21:47Speaker 3: didn't prevent himself from starting the conversation by saying, hey,
- 21:50Speaker 3: listen me, Taylor sal we could do a podcast together.
- 22:00Speaker 3: That's it. We're done.
- 22:03Speaker 7: Another podcast, aren't you guys? Do enough? Podcast? Are you insane?
- 22:07Speaker 7: More podcast?
- 22:09Speaker 9: But we had fun yesterday, man, I'll tell you getting
- 22:11Speaker 9: back on radio, and I appreciate the opportunity.
- 22:13Speaker 7: It's just a different it's a different animal.
- 22:16Speaker 3: I felt, Yes, you feel alive.
- 22:18Speaker 7: Yes, yes, exactly, it felt great to be on the
- 22:21Speaker 7: radio again.
- 22:21Speaker 3: So thank you, Yes, stop thanking me. I thank you
- 22:23Speaker 3: for the day off. I appreciate it. In fact, you
- 22:25Speaker 3: want to do it again today exactly.
- 22:28Speaker 9: I was thinking about the best job in radio, aside
- 22:31Speaker 9: from having a full time show, has to be the.
- 22:33Speaker 7: Backup to you, Stu, whoever we are going for you.
- 22:35Speaker 7: I mean, that's be the best job in radio.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Right, You'll get play, you'll get more a lot of work.
- 22:39Speaker 3: You'll get more a lot of work. Think about the
- 22:43Speaker 3: quarterback who gets injured the most, and if you want
- 22:45Speaker 3: to be that guy's backup, that's who it is.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Trey lances backup.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Stu.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Yesterday we asked Sal where he wanted to start, and
- 22:54Speaker 5: he was like, I'm going to start with Dexter Lawrence.
- 22:57Speaker 5: Sam says, all right, guys, your mites are on. Sal
- 23:00Speaker 5: breaks into a Dexter Lawrence monologue. He's talking for like
- 23:05Speaker 5: six six seven ish minutes, and then he looks at
- 23:08Speaker 5: me and Mikey if we have anything, and we didn't
- 23:11Speaker 5: have anything, and he's we.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Were hearing headlights other than a gloss, like a glazed
- 23:17Speaker 3: overlook because you were talking too fucking fast for them.
- 23:21Speaker 7: I was like, what happened? I think I legitimate? Am
- 23:23Speaker 7: I am?
- 23:23Speaker 9: I doing too much sports? So we talk about dex
- 23:26Speaker 9: Lawrence diet. They were both like, who is this.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Guy in the middle of In the middle of the show,
- 23:34Speaker 3: I texted them and this had to be funny to them.
- 23:36Speaker 3: I texted them Hey, is he judged a poetry contest.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Let's all create poems tomorrow and we'll read it and
- 23:45Speaker 3: you can mock me and say, which Sal was still here?
- 23:50Speaker 1: I didn't know.
- 23:51Speaker 7: It's a different vibe. I didn't.
- 23:52Speaker 9: Yeah, I figured he talking sports, all right, they can
- 23:55Speaker 9: handle let's go out of the ship, the little giants,
- 23:57Speaker 9: little NFL stuff. They were both like blown away. And
- 23:59Speaker 9: then I felt, you know, taken aback. I was like, oh,
- 24:01Speaker 9: maybe I did something wrong, But no, I thought we
- 24:03Speaker 9: had over.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I don't think they were blown away. I think they
- 24:05Speaker 3: were pressed with the preparation and the ability to get
- 24:08Speaker 3: right to the topic. Okay, So I tried to include
- 24:11Speaker 3: all the guys. I tried to include the entire crew there. Listen.
- 24:15Speaker 3: It is rare where someone takes over our show for
- 24:17Speaker 3: six or seven consecutive minutes. I don't know how you
- 24:19Speaker 3: fucking did it, if I'm going on, but they're not
- 24:22Speaker 3: used to that, you know.
- 24:24Speaker 5: It was it was more that taking aback aspect, where
- 24:27Speaker 5: it felt like we were like a sputtering car whose
- 24:30Speaker 5: battery was like and then Sal came and jump started
- 24:35Speaker 5: the car and me might like, you know, oh man,
- 24:37Speaker 5: we're doing sports radio.
- 24:40Speaker 1: It was go ready set.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I haven't done sports radio like twenty years, guys, I
- 24:48Speaker 3: don't know man boy.
- 24:49Speaker 7: And then then we get the calls. It's the typical New.
- 24:52Speaker 9: York They want to talk about j c Escara for goodness,
- 24:56Speaker 9: like I barely know who he is. I know that
- 24:58Speaker 9: there's no chance you know, you know who they is
- 25:00Speaker 9: to but on a national show, I wouldn't want to
- 25:02Speaker 9: do that on the overnight and you started getting some
- 25:04Speaker 9: calls like that, the old fan call is trickling in.
- 25:07Speaker 9: But overall I thought it was pretty good.
- 25:09Speaker 7: Didn't you guys have fun? We had fun together?
- 25:10Speaker 3: No, oh, sat listen you heard what I said? Did
- 25:13Speaker 3: you hear how? We led an important conversation with me
- 25:16Speaker 3: this morning. Hey, Ni saltel Or podcast. Let's go right now.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Stu, shut up. I'm going to tell you an
- 25:22Speaker 1: idea before you start talking.
- 25:23Speaker 3: To me about whatever serious thing he's pitching me stuff.
- 25:25Speaker 3: I have important time, important things to discuss with. He's
- 25:28Speaker 3: picturing me a new show.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Two days a week.
- 25:32Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:33Speaker 5: The one part that I felt the worst for sal
- 25:37Speaker 5: is he mentioned that in the NFL Draft people would
- 25:41Speaker 5: be salvating over prospects, and I just had my hand
- 25:44Speaker 5: up for three minutes waiting for him to finish his point,
- 25:47Speaker 5: and then we finished talking about people salivating over prospects.
- 25:52Speaker 5: I just said salivating locata, and that's all I gave him.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Welcome to this du god school of broadcast as my friend.
- 26:03Speaker 9: He They asked me before the show, any sound you
- 26:06Speaker 9: want this on my not I want to take Iowa
- 26:07Speaker 9: Sam out of the equation here. There's a rare opportunity,
- 26:10Speaker 9: the less sound possible that Iowa Sam bored up Ricardo.
- 26:14Speaker 7: I want nobody screwing this thing up.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Let's just go now, bored up Ricardo, you leave that
- 26:19Speaker 3: man alone. Okay, carls the line.
- 26:22Speaker 7: We had a good segment. What was the name of
- 26:24Speaker 7: the segment, taey that we did? Everybody chimed in there.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Do me a favor. You guys played too many a
- 26:29Speaker 3: favor with him?
- 26:30Speaker 4: We did.
- 26:32Speaker 7: I was like, anybody else want to chime? And He's like, yeah,
- 26:34Speaker 7: I want to so one.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Yeah, well, of course he's a sports radio assassin. Dude is.
- 26:42Speaker 5: But you have to know about bored up Ricardo. So
- 26:45Speaker 5: and you saw it yesterday. If he has anything to say,
- 26:49Speaker 5: it's one going to be about baseball.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, even a question.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Yes, I asked him if he was interested in the
- 26:56Speaker 3: Masters right before it started. He's a watching baseball.
- 27:00Speaker 4: You can't even faker response.
- 27:01Speaker 3: It's annoying.
- 27:02Speaker 9: That was the other odd thing we were on up
- 27:04Speaker 9: against the Yankee game. I was also told years ago
- 27:07Speaker 9: Stuo from Chernoff feel like this when I was starting
- 27:09Speaker 9: to do some national shows, you know, when they had
- 27:11Speaker 9: a national network there. He's like, hey, if you do
- 27:13Speaker 9: national shows, no baseball. So I've always had that ingrained
- 27:16Speaker 9: in me. Where in New York it's basically all baseball
- 27:20Speaker 9: all year long. But the national show, no baseball. And
- 27:22Speaker 9: I know we've evolved since them, but I'm still thinking, like, ah,
- 27:25Speaker 9: we're probably not gonna do baseball. And then Taylor starts
- 27:27Speaker 9: talking about mikey Ei. They're into what the Yankees are
- 27:29Speaker 9: getting no hit, Ricardo wants to talk about, Well, we're
- 27:31Speaker 9: talking his baseball.
- 27:32Speaker 7: I'm like, what are we doing? I'm gonna fail and
- 27:33Speaker 7: I don't want this out of the gate.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Well you'll realize pretty quickly Taylor is producing the show
- 27:38Speaker 3: that he wants to do, not the show that you
- 27:40Speaker 3: should be doing.
- 27:40Speaker 5: Okay, right, So, even though I had work yesterday, it
- 27:48Speaker 5: did almost feel like a day off, because sal was like,
- 27:52Speaker 5: these are this is what I want to talk about
- 27:54Speaker 5: when this segment, this segment, this segment. I was like, man,
- 27:58Speaker 5: this this is kind of nice. Normally Steve got shows
- 28:00Speaker 5: up at three oh one and goes, what are we
- 28:01Speaker 5: talking about?
- 28:02Speaker 3: What are we talking about?
- 28:02Speaker 9: It?
- 28:03Speaker 3: Now? Here's and here's the other and those are the
- 28:04Speaker 3: best shows. But here's the other thing. Okay, if like
- 28:07Speaker 3: I could plan it out like that, but God forbid
- 28:10Speaker 3: anyone says anything, because I'm adhd to the max. Okay,
- 28:14Speaker 3: I will run with that fuck it thing, and we
- 28:16Speaker 3: will spend twenty five minutes and it's probably twenty three
- 28:19Speaker 3: minutes too long on it, but I will roll with
- 28:21Speaker 3: that for at least twenty five minutes. You never know
- 28:23Speaker 3: where the show's going to start, because I don't know
- 28:25Speaker 3: where the show is good to start. But I'm impressed
- 28:27Speaker 3: that you did and you stuck to it, and that
- 28:29Speaker 3: was that's pretty incredible, because I don't know how to
- 28:31Speaker 3: do that anymore, Sally.
- 28:32Speaker 9: But then but then we got away from it quickly.
- 28:34Speaker 9: I don't even know if that's the right way anymore.
- 28:36Speaker 9: I think he knows I don't, and going in with
- 28:39Speaker 9: some kind of a plan to start, but then it
- 28:41Speaker 9: just leads to the natural conversation and we had more
- 28:44Speaker 9: fun after that.
- 28:45Speaker 7: So I don't think that there's a right and a
- 28:47Speaker 7: wrong way to do it.
- 28:47Speaker 9: It's just I'm trying to get accustomed to a new
- 28:50Speaker 9: way of doing it, because you know, the old way
- 28:53Speaker 9: of doing it is just.
- 28:54Speaker 7: Ingrained in you, and don't I don't know what's right
- 28:56Speaker 7: or wrong. Who the hell knows?
- 28:57Speaker 3: I no one knows, And I don't think Chernoff knows,
- 28:59Speaker 3: to be honest with you. Now. No, he's a great
- 29:01Speaker 3: program director. But I think at the time that he
- 29:03Speaker 3: gave you that advice, baseball was not nearly as good
- 29:07Speaker 3: a spot as it is now. You could talk about
- 29:09Speaker 3: it nationally and be fine, especially obviously if you're talking
- 29:12Speaker 3: Yankee baseball. But I think Turnoff's larger thing was he
- 29:14Speaker 3: I just stick to football, right, because everyone loves football,
- 29:18Speaker 3: you know.
- 29:18Speaker 7: That's why I thought that the right open was dex Lawrence. Sorry,
- 29:21Speaker 7: we'll do some football here.
- 29:22Speaker 3: You could.
- 29:22Speaker 7: It could pertain to all teams, all sports. It's the NFL.
- 29:25Speaker 7: You can throw in the draft if you want.
- 29:26Speaker 9: I figured that was the right, the right way to
- 29:28Speaker 9: go with that, and somehow we got quickly out of
- 29:30Speaker 9: the Yankees because they were getting one won it.
- 29:33Speaker 3: No, hell, they were getting no hit right, Well, that
- 29:35Speaker 3: will that will freeze the show for them, Yes, you
- 29:38Speaker 3: will lost Taylor and Mike Kea for that matter, if
- 29:42Speaker 3: there's a if there's a no hitter going on. But
- 29:45Speaker 3: the football stuff it's interesting. I just think for me,
- 29:48Speaker 3: I feel like the best way to do a national
- 29:50Speaker 3: show is just kind of get them to care about you,
- 29:53Speaker 3: the people doing the show, as opposed to any particular sport.
- 29:56Speaker 3: It's really hard. We're on in two hundred plus market.
- 29:59Speaker 3: That's hard to cater all of those markets. You just
- 30:02Speaker 3: have to do a show that resonates with everyone, and
- 30:04Speaker 3: if they don't like you, screw them, you know.
- 30:06Speaker 9: Agreed, And that's why I think it's good to maybe
- 30:08Speaker 9: start with a sports thing. But then he eventually get
- 30:10Speaker 9: into it. Like the most fun we had was that
- 30:12Speaker 9: segment that we did also that was saying like it
- 30:14Speaker 9: was fun for me to be a part of the
- 30:15Speaker 9: show that I listened to now right, Like I listened
- 30:17Speaker 9: to you guys, so I know about Easy and his
- 30:19Speaker 9: weakness at softball. I know about Taylor and all that's
- 30:21Speaker 9: going on. And I was say like, with you, do
- 30:23Speaker 9: I want to play golf with you? Or would I
- 30:25Speaker 9: rather take a gummy? And it turned out I think
- 30:26Speaker 9: maybe take a gummy would.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Be the right way to go with you and could
- 30:29Speaker 3: do both.
- 30:32Speaker 9: Taylor will saying you play slow, I'm not any good.
- 30:34Speaker 9: So the one thing I do is play fast. And
- 30:36Speaker 9: then with Taylor, I was like, maybe I could be
- 30:37Speaker 9: a part of this softball game one day, Mike. Ye,
- 30:39Speaker 9: we probably just want to hang out and crush some
- 30:41Speaker 9: beers and pizza.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Did Taylor say that because he didn't tell me that
- 30:45Speaker 3: on the course. I mean what he said. What he
- 30:50Speaker 3: said was he had such a little bar for me.
- 30:51Speaker 3: He really does. What he said was Stu, you're a
- 30:53Speaker 3: lot better than I thought you were gonna be. You
- 30:55Speaker 3: gotta be honest.
- 30:57Speaker 7: He did.
- 30:58Speaker 3: It was slow, yes, yes, And I like to smoke
- 31:00Speaker 3: and joint on every hole. I mean, that was the.
- 31:04Speaker 9: One thing I was told not to do as a
- 31:06Speaker 9: bad golfer. Whatever you do, don't play slow.
- 31:09Speaker 7: So that's one thing I thought.
- 31:11Speaker 3: You say, don't smoke a joint, tuk it. We ain't
- 31:13Speaker 3: never playing golf. Here's my theory on why I do that.
- 31:16Speaker 3: If I'm going to play golf and be bad at
- 31:18Speaker 3: playing golf, I might as well be stone while I'm
- 31:20Speaker 3: doing it.
- 31:20Speaker 7: You know, does it help you focus? Maybe on the
- 31:24Speaker 7: golf course.
- 31:25Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 31:25Speaker 9: Maybe maybe I could use it. I've never done it before.
- 31:27Speaker 9: Maybe i'd be a little more focused. Ring me in
- 31:29Speaker 9: a little bit, get some of the energy and take
- 31:32Speaker 9: that in a little bit with the.
- 31:33Speaker 7: With the joint or some gummies.
- 31:35Speaker 3: How much energy did sal have? Were you nervous before
- 31:37Speaker 3: the show? Were you nervous because you hadn't done radio
- 31:39Speaker 3: in a while?
- 31:40Speaker 9: Two things truth be told, Like, so I still have
- 31:43Speaker 9: the TV show, so I had to go there and
- 31:44Speaker 9: prep before that, then rush uptown to a studio where
- 31:48Speaker 9: I've never been before. I saw my old boss Tom
- 31:51Speaker 9: Cuddy at iHeart because he used to work at iHeart
- 31:53Speaker 9: Media or so seeing all those guys getting the studio prep,
- 31:56Speaker 9: connecting zoom this that that was more nervous than the
- 31:59Speaker 9: actual show. I was excited, yeah, and a little nervo
- 32:02Speaker 9: like yeah, honestly I was excited.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Nervous excitement, yes.
- 32:05Speaker 9: Yeah, exactly right. I couldn't wait to get to get
- 32:07Speaker 9: back on the radio. And it felt great right out
- 32:09Speaker 9: of the game, and then I sold their faces. After
- 32:10Speaker 9: I stopped talking, I was like.
- 32:11Speaker 7: Oh, what are you here?
- 32:13Speaker 3: Yeah, well they thought you were never gonna throw it.
- 32:15Speaker 3: That's They're like, this guy's got it, he doesn't need us.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I started watching the game.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Why not had a dream? Took up your feet.
- 32:27Speaker 5: The first hour of the show, Stu Sal was dressed
- 32:31Speaker 5: like he is now hoodie.
- 32:33Speaker 7: We had Sal with us.
- 32:34Speaker 5: The second hour when he had to get prepared for
- 32:36Speaker 5: the TV show, he got dressed up and his button
- 32:39Speaker 5: down and we had mister Lacatta the second.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Hour, the different guy.
- 32:44Speaker 9: Yes, And I said, if my performance lacked, it was
- 32:46Speaker 9: because I felt uncomfortable in a button down shirt because
- 32:49Speaker 9: I had to immediately run from the studios and go
- 32:52Speaker 9: downtown and not be late. I got there like twenty
- 32:55Speaker 9: five minutes before live TV show. Those guys would have
- 32:57Speaker 9: flipped out had I've been late.
- 32:58Speaker 3: So I mean twenty five minutes, that's an eternity.
- 33:01Speaker 1: It was.
- 33:02Speaker 7: It was, but you never know.
- 33:03Speaker 9: On the damn subways with in the city like it
- 33:06Speaker 9: says you'd be there in twenty five minutes. If one
- 33:08Speaker 9: stop is stalled or delayed, you're screwed. But yes, it
- 33:11Speaker 9: ended up working out, but I was nervous a little
- 33:12Speaker 9: bit about that it was an.
- 33:14Speaker 7: Overall fun day.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Yes, No, I'm glad you felt like it was a
- 33:17Speaker 3: fun day. I do find it funny that Mikey a
- 33:19Speaker 3: bailed on me very quickly after one show. Let's to
- 33:21Speaker 3: start his own show very quickly.
- 33:24Speaker 7: How many podcasts you need, mike Y? Do you have
- 33:26Speaker 7: a million of these things?
- 33:30Speaker 4: Now?
- 33:32Speaker 3: He doesn't have to. He doesn't have one with you
- 33:34Speaker 3: where he could just kick back for seven or eight
- 33:36Speaker 3: minutes and put his feet up on the table listen
- 33:38Speaker 3: to you talk about Dexter Lawrence.
- 33:41Speaker 9: I mean, Jesus, I will say the one thing that
- 33:43Speaker 9: came out of yesterday from me aside.
- 33:45Speaker 3: I mean, how could you have six or seven minutes
- 33:46Speaker 3: on Lawrence? I would be able to talk with that
- 33:48Speaker 3: guy for a minute. Anyway, I don't know. I don't know.
- 33:50Speaker 9: If it was six or seven, then I think Taylor's
- 33:52Speaker 9: exaggerating there, and or we do that it wasn't just
- 33:55Speaker 9: about Laurence seven minutes, come on. I know, I was like, look,
- 33:59Speaker 9: I was looking as I'm going nuts. I'm looking at
- 34:01Speaker 9: them a little bit, waiting to see if they're jumping in,
- 34:03Speaker 9: and then I just figured all right, let me.
- 34:05Speaker 7: Stop, and then I got nothing. Twenty men, I'm bigga
- 34:10Speaker 7: su I have kept going here.
- 34:11Speaker 1: What's happening?
- 34:12Speaker 4: I know.
- 34:12Speaker 3: But the reason that I do this show the way
- 34:14Speaker 3: it gets back to what you're trying to get the
- 34:16Speaker 3: audience to love. And I want them to fall in
- 34:18Speaker 3: love with the relationship that me and Taylor have, with
- 34:21Speaker 3: the relationship that me and mikey A have, with the
- 34:23Speaker 3: relationship that all four of us have, and that's why
- 34:26Speaker 3: I go to that, and I want them to have
- 34:28Speaker 3: opportunities on this platform like I've already been there. I've
- 34:30Speaker 3: done that, I climbed the mountain, and so I just
- 34:33Speaker 3: I just think it makes for a better show. Not
- 34:35Speaker 3: to say that the show you didn't do yesterday was fantastic.
- 34:38Speaker 3: I have tell you. Mike called me today not yearning
- 34:40Speaker 3: for me. He was yearning for you. Okay.
- 34:43Speaker 5: So so it kind of felt like the game where
- 34:46Speaker 5: bam Adebayo scored eighty three points, where we were your
- 34:49Speaker 5: teammates out there and we were just cheering you on, going.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Hyeaham shoot, don't get it, shit, me get another one.
- 34:56Speaker 7: I didn't want that.
- 34:57Speaker 3: I like being a part of the group takes a minute. Yes,
- 35:01Speaker 3: all right.
- 35:02Speaker 5: It does.
- 35:03Speaker 7: Also, I didn't know, like you're like, all right, we'll
- 35:05Speaker 7: follow you lead. I'm like, all right, well here we go.
- 35:07Speaker 7: I mean, good topic and then we all discuss it.
- 35:11Speaker 3: But when I was radio, and once we're done with it,
- 35:14Speaker 3: we could throw it out to the collars. Right, I've
- 35:18Speaker 3: been there, I've done that, I've done that show. I
- 35:20Speaker 3: did it once once upon a time, and then I
- 35:22Speaker 3: spent twenty years with Levittard And I'm telling you, but
- 35:24Speaker 3: that was a good thing. It was a good thing
- 35:26Speaker 3: because character building is very important. As you know, Salad
- 35:29Speaker 3: Radio is a very very good thing. Where we had
- 35:32Speaker 3: the audience care about us as a show. They didn't
- 35:34Speaker 3: care as much about what we were talking about. They
- 35:36Speaker 3: cared about us and what was going on in that
- 35:38Speaker 3: were loves.
- 35:38Speaker 9: So my last question on that would be I understand that, right,
- 35:41Speaker 9: and I love that, and I think that that is
- 35:43Speaker 9: the right way to do it.
- 35:44Speaker 3: I mean, Chris had a lot of that, right, Yes.
- 35:46Speaker 9: Okay, but it also takes time because I also know
- 35:48Speaker 9: that regardless of what I've done in New York or
- 35:50Speaker 9: what I've done nationally or TV, people listening to Fox
- 35:53Speaker 9: Sports Radio yesterday to your show, like, who the hell
- 35:56Speaker 9: is this guy? So I can't just in my mind,
- 35:58Speaker 9: I can't just start talking about my life right at
- 36:00Speaker 9: the gate. I think I need to hit them with
- 36:01Speaker 9: the sports to suck him in and then sprinkle in.
- 36:04Speaker 7: The other stuff throughout the course of the show. That's
- 36:06Speaker 7: how I felt about it.
- 36:07Speaker 3: Yep, your biggest problem was you scored thirty five points
- 36:09Speaker 3: in the first quarter. I mean you gotta spread them out.
- 36:13Speaker 3: I mean you came out of the gates. I mean,
- 36:15Speaker 3: Jesus right now, what right, you'll give me two minutes,
- 36:19Speaker 3: Lawrence here, give me something over there, lest S. I'm
- 36:22Speaker 3: saving shit all the time. I think, Jesus Christ, I
- 36:25Speaker 3: got a million takes. I'm looking on Lesiham today. You
- 36:27Speaker 3: got it for next week.
- 36:28Speaker 9: One thing I didn't want to do, and it turned
- 36:30Speaker 9: out that we did it because some of the call.
- 36:32Speaker 9: I didn't want to do New York. That was one
- 36:34Speaker 9: thing I tried to get a little bit of what
- 36:35Speaker 9: Warrens tried.
- 36:36Speaker 7: To tie it in, but we ended up doing a
- 36:37Speaker 7: lot of Yankees. We didn't do any Knicks. We had
- 36:39Speaker 7: that in the wholester. We did a little Masters.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Well, I mean the next beat the Celtics last night.
- 36:48Speaker 3: That's where this is what happens when I don't have
- 36:51Speaker 3: to do the show and so I can do it
- 36:52Speaker 3: for me. I actually watched Bords
