- 0:00But Upper Bound Bound Banger management in Fantasy hockey
- 0:03podcast. Whoo, whoo.
- 0:06That was great. Kurt Crickets.
- 0:08Yeah. Yeah, I drew inspiration from
- 0:12Josh, who has sadly decided to ditch us today.
- 0:17He's spending family time with family and I guess we're not
- 0:21family is basically what I'm understanding from this
- 0:23situation. But listen, I get it.
- 0:25Priorities. It is what it is.
- 0:28Thank God at least the two best hosts are here for today.
- 0:30Today's episode. I'm so scared to miss another
- 0:35episode. OK, today is our week 10 waivers
- 0:42slash streamers episode where we recommend the best players to
- 0:45pick up for the next few weeks. Well, this week, next week, and
- 0:49also depending on who it is, maybe it could be a really good
- 0:52season long hold. You can follow us on Spotify,
- 0:56Apple podcast, wherever you get your podcasts rate us five
- 0:59stars. If you like what you hear
- 1:01subscribe on YouTube. We are on YouTube now we love
- 1:04YouTube. Do you love YouTube?
- 1:05If you do give us a like on this video.
- 1:08OK, and all of the socials are in the link tree in the podcast
- 1:11description. Be sure to check out the Discord
- 1:14where we have the Bangor management family that Josh has
- 1:18decided not to be a part of for this next hour or so.
- 1:22It's very disappointing, but let's say this morning we move
- 1:25on, fantasy moves on and he's in a better place, so.
- 1:30He's very much alive just to be. Clear.
- 1:33I did not say that, but I know, I know, I know.
- 1:39We give the spiel every time in the beginning.
- 1:41But listen guys, it's like 6070% of you guys that are listening
- 1:44to this right now are not currently following the podcast.
- 1:47So what are you doing? I know you want to listen to all
- 1:49the episodes, so just hit that follow button so that every time
- 1:52the new episode comes out, it'll tell you and then win, win.
- 1:55And yeah. So what do we get into our
- 1:58exactly Week 9 choices? Yes, these are our Week 9 top
- 2:04three choices. So we had an L weather alert,
- 2:09but we need to go. Pretty nice.
- 2:10We Yeah. So our loss from this last week
- 2:14was Zach Bolduc, 3 games played, zero points.
- 2:18Sad he was poised to do well. Listen, but yeah, we followed
- 2:23the process. Listen, you got bumped up line
- 2:251P1 was playing 50 minutes a night was had got five points in
- 2:30two games and it was like, OK, all systems go.
- 2:33And then literally we recommended him for the stream
- 2:35on a four-game week and like took I think a game and 1/2 for
- 2:38him to just like completely fall off.
- 2:40And he had a game where he played like less than 10
- 2:42minutes. It's honestly just like I, I
- 2:44feel really bad recommending him.
- 2:45But listen, if you follow the process, nothing is absolute
- 2:49things like this are gonna happen.
- 2:50So this just happened to be a pretty bad one.
- 2:52So hope hoping to make some better, better recommendations
- 2:55this upcoming week. But if you picked up the other
- 2:57guys, we got what Darren Radish. Yeah, three games played, five
- 3:02assists. Awesome guys, amazing pickup.
- 3:05Yeah, his minutes have been crazy too.
- 3:08With Hedman coming back, it's a question mark, but that was
- 3:12definitely a great pick for last week.
- 3:13And Anton Lindell, in two games played since then, he's had one
- 3:19assist and that was a shorthanded point.
- 3:22He wasn't bumped off power play 1 and that is a W from last
- 3:27week. It's going to be weird to see
- 3:28what they're going to do with the power play, but he's been
- 3:31really decent all year and if you stream them last week,
- 3:34you're quite happy. The was it a good pickup record
- 3:38so far this season? We are 16 and five.
- 3:41Pretty darn good. Yeah, and look into looking to
- 3:45make more strides this upcoming week.
- 3:47So do you want to get into the games?
- 3:50Yeah, for the upcoming week, we have two teams playing two
- 3:54games. There are the there's the New
- 3:56York Rangers and the Washington Capitals.
- 3:58Capitals have been on fire so it's going to be kind of tough.
- 4:01But anyways, then a bunch of four-game teams, we're going to
- 4:04get into that. The busy nights as per usual are
- 4:08Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and there are off night teams as
- 4:12well. Buffalo, Calgary, Chicago,
- 4:13Detroit, Los Angeles, Kings, Minnesota, Seattle, Utah,
- 4:16Vancouver. We're going to talk about those
- 4:18guys mainly. Give us little proface before we
- 4:20dive into our top ten points, guys.
- 4:22Yep, So just a small profile Che.
- 4:26I feel like people are only listening to recent episodes.
- 4:28They have no idea who profile means, but we're just prefacing.
- 4:31So giving a little bit of a little memo out there before we
- 4:34get into the bulk of the streamers for this week.
- 4:36But I just wanted to put it out there that listen, the guys that
- 4:39were covering on this episode are less than 40% owned.
- 4:42So we're going a little bit super into like if you're in a
- 4:4512 team league, these are usually guys that could be
- 4:47relevant and some guys are recommending are 5 percent, 10%
- 4:51owned, so more of your deeper cuts.
- 4:53So we can, you know, cover all our bases.
- 4:55But if you're in A10 team league, I feel there's most
- 4:57likely options on your waiver wire that are you gonna be
- 5:01better streams than the guys that were recommending today
- 5:03just because we're trying to go a little bit more niche and a
- 5:05little bit deeper. But yeah, I just wanted to put
- 5:08it out there, like if Zach Bolduc is on your waiver wire,
- 5:11but you can pick up William Eckland or other guys that are
- 5:16like, you know, Jason Zucker or something.
- 5:18And just wanna put it out there that if you're the shallow
- 5:21enough league, make sure you look at your waivers and might
- 5:25be guys that are better than the guys were recommending.
- 5:27But keep in mind that these guys 12 leagues deeper, we're going
- 5:31to be relevant names for you. Yeah, for sure.
- 5:34I mean, like there are, you know, guys hovering around like
- 5:37the 60% range you got. You got like a Sam Bennett, he
- 5:39could be available. And sometimes team leagues, you
- 5:41know, he's been pretty good recently.
- 5:43So you know, Tyler Bertuzzi, 64%, he's also been on fire and
- 5:48Chicago's got two off nights this week.
- 5:50So stuff like that, you know, we're not going to talk about
- 5:53them because that's not really relevant in deeper leagues.
- 5:56But keep an eye out on that. If you are in a more shallow
- 5:59leak, as Kevin said, let's get into our top 10 points guys.
- 6:04Yep, so these are guys that most of you are streaming for points
- 6:07and some of them have some good bangers.
- 6:09So let's get into #10. Of the Buffalo Sabres line 3 But
- 6:15power play, one on a power play, one that's been pretty strong
- 6:18lately. We have Josh done, son of Shane
- 6:21Doan. I'm gonna do that for every
- 6:24player. What is Person's dad?
- 6:29So yeah, shot Josh done four games this upcoming Week 3, the
- 6:34week after. He's been averaging around 15
- 6:37minutes of ice time. Pretty great shots on goal, I
- 6:40will say. And yeah, I mean, it's power
- 6:43play points have been awesome, so.
- 6:44I like it, yeah. You're hoping you would hope for
- 6:47a better 5V5 deployment, but the fact that he's on PP1 is the
- 6:51main reason why he's on this list.
- 6:53Ever since Josh Norris came back, the power play has been
- 6:55clicking a lot more and he's we thought that maybe Benson would
- 6:59keep this but ahead of Josh Stone, but it seems like Josh
- 7:01Stone has got that spot secured right now.
- 7:02So as long as that sticks, he's a viable streamer.
- 7:05This upcoming week they got four games, SO4 games of a guy on PS1
- 7:09that is starting to click. Good option.
- 7:12Yep, next we have Shaw. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa at
- 7:18#9 Son of Sean. Done, you know.
- 7:23This. Go on my hand.
- 7:29A lot happened, yeah. A.
- 7:31Lot so much happened. A lot just happened, OK.
- 7:34Every time it was almost always skip over my little.
- 7:37I know, I know. I'm not used to it.
- 7:40I'm not used to it. OK.
- 7:41Sean Monahan of the CBJ Columbus Blue Jackets Line 2 power play,
- 7:471.6 points per game. He's been, look, I mean, I, I, I
- 7:54think Chantilly is kind of the main offensive guy there.
- 7:56But three games this week, three games the next 1, and especially
- 7:58in a faceoffs league, you could do worse.
- 8:01Yeah, you're not, you're not. This is not a pickup that is
- 8:03necessarily optimizing for games played.
- 8:05But like Sean Monahan, we thought his value was cooked
- 8:08after fan till he took that P1 spot on that line, one spot.
- 8:11I mean they're both on power play one, which is a great,
- 8:14which is why Sean Monahan still has the value that he does.
- 8:17But he still honestly a good player and that top line is
- 8:21getting tougher matchups. He's playing on that second
- 8:22line. And listen, you just had a game,
- 8:24we got 3 assists. So we know he's still in this
- 8:25bag that he can produce offensively.
- 8:28If you want to prioritize players with better schedules, I
- 8:31understand it. But I just want to put it out
- 8:32there that for pure sees, you're getting a guy that's on a, on a
- 8:36high flying offence. Their power play is starting to
- 8:38get better. He's playing close to 20 minutes
- 8:40a night. Like there's definitely worse
- 8:42people you can stream. And I think he has a lot of
- 8:45categories and especially in face off leagues, if you're in a
- 8:48in a banger league that has those, like he's one of the
- 8:50better options. Yeah, this next player has been
- 8:54crazy good this year. I I will get into it very
- 8:58shortly, but at. #8 son of Shane Done.
- 9:03No. OK Shannon, OK, disclaimer, he's
- 9:11actually not all those players, fathers only Josh down.
- 9:13Anyway, over the Boston Bruins we have line one power play 1
- 9:18Elias Lindholm who is just insane this year, especially for
- 9:23faceoff leagues. If you are in a faceoff league,
- 9:25he should actually be rostered already, but he's only rostered
- 9:28in 28% of leagues. 3 games this week.
- 9:31For the next week, he's at .84 points per game on the season,
- 9:36but over the last, you know, basically since he's become
- 9:39healthy, it was a six games ago at the time of this recording,
- 9:421.17 points per game. So that's that's just insane.
- 9:48Is PowerPoint points at .33. I love it.
- 9:50And Pasternak been dealing with a bit of an injury now, but when
- 9:56he's back, I mean, he's gonna be playing with Lindholm in all
- 9:59likelihood. Bless you.
- 10:00And all of this to say, I think that this is a fantastic pickup
- 10:05for this week and in a faceless league like it's nearing long
- 10:10term hold. Yeah.
- 10:11I mean the main thing with Lindholm though, is that if you
- 10:13look at his averages, so he missed sometimes, so the
- 10:15averages are kind of skewed. And the power play was just so
- 10:18insane to start the year. It felt like almost all his
- 10:20production was power play points, which is not
- 10:23sustainable. Only three games this week.
- 10:26So it's kind of like Monahan that we just recommended.
- 10:28But Boston has actually been scoring a lot of goals despite
- 10:31the fact that Pasternak is currently not healthy.
- 10:34So in week 10, we're looking for password to be back in the
- 10:37lineup. I mean, listen, even though
- 10:39password is gone, it looks like Steve has taken that spot and
- 10:42has been insane in his in his in his absence.
- 10:45So and he's still playing with the GOAT Morgan Geekie.
- 10:48So it feels like nothing, nothing can go wrong for for
- 10:50Allison home. He's surrounded by guys who
- 10:52score a lot of goals. His category coverage is kind of
- 10:55sneaky, like he'll get you hit some block, some shots.
- 10:58Like Jackie said, Allied for faceoff wins, but you're
- 11:00streaming a guy that's on the 5th best power play in the
- 11:02league right now. If that continues, he's going to
- 11:05be an option for your fantasy leagues every week, especially
- 11:08in deeper leagues. I think he's on waivers a lot
- 11:10because he was injured and people had to have to drop him
- 11:13to make room. So now is your opportunity to
- 11:15strike and stream in this upcoming week.
- 11:18Yeah, totally, totally agree there.
- 11:20OK love this one too at. #7. We've got Jason Zucker of the
- 11:28Buffalo Sabres line to power play one absolutely on fire as
- 11:33of late. His whole season good.
- 11:35He's got .79 points per game. His power play points are .32,
- 11:40which is ridiculous. Like, ever since he came back
- 11:42from injury, the Buffalo Sabres have had a better power play and
- 11:47you know, as of late, his reduction has been .86 points
- 11:50per game over the last two weeks.
- 11:52It's really, really like he's on fire.
- 11:55And I really think that you're going to be very happy with his
- 11:58four games this week. So he's a great choice.
- 12:02Only 10% owned somehow, but this is one of those things that we
- 12:07know we gave the little OK, sorry Profaci earlier about how,
- 12:15you know, even in deeper leagues, like you can do better
- 12:17to look at the higher roster guys.
- 12:19But I think that the low roster names outside of our top three
- 12:25this week, like I like it. I really do like it as a pickup.
- 12:28I'm not gonna say he's gonna absolutely perform the way he's
- 12:31been performing. There's some risk there.
- 12:33But considering the four-game week, I really, really do like
- 12:37this. Yeah, I agree.
- 12:38He's a he's he's in my head is higher on this list just because
- 12:43I feel like I have a bias towards him since I had him on
- 12:46my roster last season. And he's one of those guys that
- 12:48it's not flashy, but he gets the job done For your team.
- 12:50We play in a deep league where our league of record is, you
- 12:53know, you're starting like 20 guys every night.
- 12:55So you already have to make start sit decisions just
- 12:57starting everybody on your team. And he's part of that group that
- 13:00you know, he might be one of the lower guys on your team, but
- 13:03four games this upcoming week, he shoots, he scores and he's on
- 13:07one of the better power plays right now.
- 13:08Like I keep saying, one of the better plays on the season.
- 13:11They're 21st, but ever since Josh Norris team back, it's been
- 13:14three games and they've scored every single game on the power
- 13:16play. So you know, some positive
- 13:17regression there. And I think Zucker is one of
- 13:19those names that he's gonna be stable that P1 like no matter
- 13:22what his line, his deployment is 5V5, whether it's line one, line
- 13:252 or line 3, he's going to be P1 and that's where most of his
- 13:29value comes from. And he's just he's good at
- 13:30scoring those greasy goals. So I like Jason Zucker a lot.
- 13:34He's only left wing eligible. So you have to make sure you can
- 13:36fill fit him in your lineup this upcoming week.
- 13:39But four games, I think it's a great pick.
- 13:43Yeah, and and like like you said, he's he's also been higher
- 13:46on this list for face off wins. There are other guys we're going
- 13:52to mention that especially the next one that are really elite.
- 13:55But taking that out of the equation, I really think that
- 13:58he's a fantastic choice and super sneaky.
- 14:01As Kevin mentioned, he can be a much longer term hold than even
- 14:04just this week, but. Depends how deep.
- 14:07Yeah, but with the four, yeah, exactly.
- 14:09Like in an 8 team 10 team league, Probably not.
- 14:12But for the stream, four games love it.
- 14:14Let's get to the next one. All right, at #6.
- 14:20We have of the Nashville Predators Ryan O'Reilly also
- 14:26been insane lately. This is especially relevant for
- 14:30faceoff wins because he's not super great in the back hats.
- 14:34Over the last month, he's only a 1.67 points shots per game, zero
- 14:39power play points, but still averaging a point per game.
- 14:42So I yeah, I mean, playing with the surrounding talent, like
- 14:47they should have a slight uptick in power play points.
- 14:50Philip Forsberg, who was my Bilo in Week 9, was still, they're
- 14:55not scoring what they what they at the pace that they they like.
- 14:59He's been bad basically is what I'm getting at Forsberg.
- 15:01So O'reilly's been OK and I really do like it for this week
- 15:05as well. Yeah, you just have to know when
- 15:06you're picking up O'Reilly if you want more category coverage.
- 15:11This is not the guy that pick up.
- 15:12So yeah, we have them number six on this list right now, but it's
- 15:15just because if you look at over the last two weeks, he's
- 15:17averaging almost 1.2 points per game over point per game the
- 15:20last two weeks and no power play points.
- 15:23So he's on line one, he's on P1. He's playing all the important
- 15:26minutes for this team. He's also kind of trade bait
- 15:28right now. Like Nashville is the worst team
- 15:29in the league. All the guys that are veterans
- 15:32on this team that might necessarily not benefit them
- 15:35right now, but would be more beneficial for contenders are
- 15:38are getting looks right now to potentially be traded.
- 15:40I think Riley is one of the main names right there.
- 15:43She'll get you shots. He won't get you hits, he won't
- 15:46get you blocks, but he can get you points.
- 15:48And I expect the power play to at least get one point this
- 15:50season, this this season, this upcoming week where they have
- 15:53four games. Hopefully the rest of the season
- 15:55they get at least one more PowerPoint.
- 15:57Yeah, I think this is the week that it happens.
- 15:59Like Nashville, honestly, it feels really bad, but there's
- 16:02still some valuable guys on there.
- 16:03And I think O'Reilly specifically if you're pointing,
- 16:06is more valuable if you play in a categories league, like he's
- 16:09one of the better options that's available under 40% that can at
- 16:12least get you points. So.
- 16:15Yep. OK, let's get to. #5.
- 16:20Nice. We're flowing.
- 16:21We're flowing now since I ever since #9 things have been boat
- 16:25goes up and big time. The plural of Matthew.
- 16:29On Minnesota Wild, we have Mats Zuccarello line 2 power play
- 16:33one. He's at .77 points on the
- 16:37season, but that's been with a moderate cold streak as of late.
- 16:42He his shots have been really good.
- 16:44He's at 2.67 over the last two weeks, which is nice.
- 16:47So I think that we can expect some goals in coming Ten shots
- 16:50over the last 10 games over the last two games.
- 16:53So yeah, with 0 points there, I'd expect that to turn around
- 16:57relatively quickly. And yeah, I mean, I really,
- 17:01really like him. As for the next two weeks
- 17:04especially, he's got four games this week, four games next week.
- 17:07So this is the type of guy that you pick up and hold for the two
- 17:11weeks 22% on. So also kind of a deeper play
- 17:14there. But Minnesota has been winning
- 17:17because of their insane goaltending and I think that
- 17:20that's bound to, you know, regress a little bit just cause
- 17:25it's so crazy with Walstad and goes to Simba.
- 17:27Walstad is doing so they should be scoring more in Zuccarello is
- 17:31going to be a part of that. Yeah, I mean, listen, this is a
- 17:34team that's high flying right now.
- 17:37And Zuccarello is a guy that first of all, less than 40%
- 17:40owned, has four games this week, has four games next week.
- 17:43And he's the type of guy that has a little bit of name poll
- 17:46where in previous seasons he's been the one of those guys that
- 17:50is at the at the end of your Ross or not a flash enable
- 17:52producers for your fantasy team. The thing right now is he's not
- 17:55exposed to Kaprizov at 5V5, which, yeah, it's a tick against
- 17:59him, but he's still producing. He's on that power play that's
- 18:02clicking right now going crazy. And one thing to note, his
- 18:07shooting percentage is really low right now.
- 18:09It's at 4%. We expect it to be higher.
- 18:11It's going to be at like 1012% it already.
- 18:14That would be doubling what is currently doing.
- 18:16So he's due for some goals basically is what I'm saying.
- 18:18He's exposed to one of the best power plays right now on a team
- 18:21that's winning a lot of games. And also like in the back of my
- 18:24mind, what I have is he's playing important minutes for
- 18:26this team. He's the 6th best forward, if
- 18:29you put it that way. And I'm mentioning that because
- 18:32when the teams winning a lot of games, they're usually playing
- 18:34against teams that are giving them a lot of empty Nets at the
- 18:36end of the game. Well, that's extra incentive to
- 18:38get points because it's going to be on the ice for those minutes.
- 18:40So just in the back of my mind is like a little bit of a
- 18:42tiebreaker there. You can hold them for the next
- 18:44two weeks. I think Zuko is one of the guys
- 18:47that has the highest upside on this top ten list.
- 18:51Yeah, since returning from injury, he's played 12 games and
- 18:56he has one goal. Yeah.
- 18:57So that's like pretty. For some year he's got he needs
- 19:00to get a two or three. Yeah, Any shots like as
- 19:02mentioned, they've been good. So he's doing all the right
- 19:05things. It's just bound to boat goes up
- 19:07very soon. Boat goes up.
- 19:09Yep. OK, let's get to the next one.
- 19:12#4. We have Jared McCann of the
- 19:18Seattle released the Kraken. OK, his power play points are
- 19:23nonexistent this year, another good sign for things to turn up
- 19:27lately. He was hurt for a long part,
- 19:28yes, I know, but still noteworthy that that's like an
- 19:34interesting stat. He hasn't played too much this
- 19:37year. He had a brief stint at the
- 19:39beginning and then got hurt, and now he's been back for a few
- 19:41games. This we've spoken about is
- 19:43probably the best player on Seattle, so I think this is an
- 19:47awesome pickup, especially because his hits are surprising
- 19:51to the upside and this is a point section, but it's nice to
- 19:55have that little bonus. Four games this week, great ice
- 19:58time and yeah, I really, really like it and I'm quite surprised
- 20:03he's under 30% owned. Yeah, I mean, listen, this is a
- 20:06guy that we talked about in recent recent podcast episodes.
- 20:10We, we made some social media content about him as well
- 20:13because he was coming back from injury and people didn't really
- 20:16know what to expect. And when healthy, he is arguably
- 20:19the best forward on the Seattle Kraken.
- 20:21And you're able to stream him on a week where he plays four games
- 20:24and is widely available, which is pretty crazy when you think
- 20:26about it. He's basically a double double
- 20:28right now. He's shooting two shots a game.
- 20:30At least he's hitting two, two hits a game, which I don't
- 20:33expect to to stay consistent there, but it's a nice bonus
- 20:37right now and he has the best deployment on his team.
- 20:39He's playing line 1P1, so he's exposed to the best players and
- 20:42he's a guy that can really drive the offence.
- 20:44So his averages right now look a little wonky because he hasn't
- 20:47really played many games this season thus far.
- 20:49But I expect way better days ahead.
- 20:50And this might be the perfect opportunity to get on the get on
- 20:53the train while it's the train is about to go up, get on the
- 20:57boat while the boat is going up. Yeah, yeah, it's, it's been a
- 21:01bad power play all year. And it can definitely you can
- 21:05attribute that to the missing basically their best.
- 21:08Players, they also split their power players because that's
- 21:09really dumb, but it is what it is.
- 21:11Yeah, that's that's rough for fantasy, but nevertheless, I
- 21:14expect better things from McCann moving forward.
- 21:16Bless you again. OK, let's get into our top
- 21:19three. #3. Ah sad because I traded this guy
- 21:25away but gotta gotta stick true to to give him the best advice
- 21:30we can we have of the Philadelphia Flyers.
- 21:33Owen Tippett, another guy with great shot hit combinations.
- 21:38He is at .7 points per game on the season.
- 21:41His PowerPoint points are abysmal absolutely, but not not
- 21:46mechanic abysmal. But you know, it's not great
- 21:49power play points per game and it's surprising because the team
- 21:53is ranked pretty, pretty hot. Like they're they're basically
- 21:56middle of the pack. So he's just kind of missing out
- 21:58on those power play points. Shooting percentage is decent at
- 22:0114. He's got four games this week.
- 22:04Owen tip. It's a great guy to hold on to
- 22:06in Bangor leagues. I think that this is one of
- 22:09those that I look in an 8 team league that's pretty darn
- 22:14shallow. But in A10 team league, even you
- 22:16know, like for on a four-game week I would pick him up.
- 22:19Yeah, Owen Tip It is one of those guys that when he's on
- 22:22this list, I'm very interested because first of all, Philly has
- 22:25four games this upcoming week and Jake was hinting at this
- 22:28like their power play is average and spring 17th on the season
- 22:31right now and he's got basically no power play points.
- 22:34Now. One of the main reasons for that
- 22:35is that Philly is one of those teams that Rick talk it is low
- 22:39key fantasy terrorists as well. And then he doesn't always put
- 22:43his best players on the PP1. Like we've had stretches where
- 22:46connect these on technically the P2 and it's just crazy.
- 22:50But as of this recording, the last two games or couple few
- 22:55practices, they've kind of consolidated their power play
- 22:58into one main unit. It's been connecting, it's been
- 23:01Zagreus, it's been Michkov, Tippett and Sanheim.
- 23:05So the fact that they're putting all their chips into finally one
- 23:07power play, it's like, oh, how about we just put our best
- 23:10players on PS1 and roll that way?
- 23:11Like it's just like, it feels crazy to think about, but some
- 23:14coaches don't do it. Yeah.
- 23:16So, but now the fact that they've done that, I expect
- 23:19Tippet to get way more exposure to power play points.
- 23:23O you might be getting in at the perfect time before the boat
- 23:25really takes off and becomes a rocket ship.
- 23:27So sometimes it goes up, sometimes both because rocket
- 23:29ship. This is one of the situations
- 23:31that could be rocket ship. And if you're in a category
- 23:33bangers leagues like he also is, he's one of those low key power
- 23:37forwards where he'll be a double double, he'll shoot, he'll hit,
- 23:41he'll get you points. Power play exposure right now,
- 23:43like I I really like tip at this upcoming week, four games like
- 23:46it. It just feels like everything is
- 23:47is right for this to go really well.
- 23:50Yeah, I'm, I'm loving this, this boat turning into a rocket ship
- 23:54thing. Yeah.
- 23:55Podcasters by day, scientists by night.
- 23:57Or the opposite. But yeah, I mean, Owen Tippett
- 24:04kid can really contribute to advances in science.
- 24:10Jessica. OK, let's get into the next one.
- 24:14At #2. You know, while Barkov is out, I
- 24:19think this guy may be turning into Kevin's literal father sees
- 24:23him because he talked about him all the time of the Buffalo
- 24:28Sabres. We have Josh Norris 1.34 points
- 24:34per game on the season. Small sample size because he's
- 24:38had. Some issues Played four games
- 24:42given the season, but the his last three games in his last
- 24:46three games since coming back, he's got five points 3 power
- 24:48play crazy so. Crazy.
- 24:50He yeah, he's like extremely effective.
- 24:53He's now at 35% owned. Before this little stretch over
- 24:58the last week, he was at 14%. So he just, yeah, increased 21
- 25:04percentage owned. So people are clearly catching
- 25:07on. I know he's going under the
- 25:10radar and I think he's super valuable for points, but also
- 25:13the Bangor cats, especially when your face off, if you're in a
- 25:15face off league is awesome. So there's so much to like here.
- 25:19I think that obviously this is he's gonna slow down, but with
- 25:23four games this week, no offence, sorry.
- 25:25I don't you look upset at me saying that's.
- 25:28Not gonna score 120 points. No, seriously, it's that that
- 25:33you know what though? I will say slight tangent here.
- 25:35Cousins for Norris dot trade I feel like is really gonna bring
- 25:39out the most of the best in them for their careers.
- 25:41I think they both needed just a change of scenery, to be honest.
- 25:44Yeah. The only thing is Josh Norris,
- 25:46the main question is, is health. And that's really one of the
- 25:48reasons why he was 14% only last week because people drafted him
- 25:52first of all late because he was injured a lot last season when
- 25:55he gets hurt at the last literally the last face off of
- 25:58the first game of the season. So yeah, listen, I held Norris
- 26:01the whole year I drafted him. He was my tenth round pick in a
- 26:04deep Manger category league. So I was pretty hyped.
- 26:07I'm able to get the process. Is there right line one power
- 26:10play one on a Buffalo team that was supposed to make some moves
- 26:15this year playing with Tage Thompson, like he's surrounded
- 26:17by talent, Rasmus Dahlin. And then he got hurt.
- 26:20And that's literally the main question with Josh Norris is his
- 26:22health. The the on ice product has never
- 26:25been a a worry for us. But right now I feel like,
- 26:29listen, he's 35% and we might not be able to talk about him in
- 26:32future waiver episodes because he'll be over that 40% cutoff.
- 26:35But this could be a a league changing pickup if you're in a
- 26:38deeper league and he's still available.
- 26:40I'm trying to scoop up there's most definitely a guy on your
- 26:43roster you can cut for Josh Norris.
- 26:45I'm putting a blanket statement out there that there's always a
- 26:48guy you need to have him on your team.
- 26:50But I'm going to say unless you're in a 10 or 12 team league
- 26:52and your team is pretty stacked as most like guy, you can cut
- 26:54for Josh Norris because he's gonna hit you.
- 26:56He's gonna get you with hits, get you with software is you
- 26:58would shots and he's a goal scorer.
- 27:00You can score some goals. The power play is clicking since
- 27:02he's coming back. Like there's just so many
- 27:04positives with Josh Norris right now and it's low risk.
- 27:08You pick him up if he gets hurt again, that's the main question.
- 27:10Like I'm gonna pick him up and then he's going to be out for
- 27:12the season or something. Like listen, I'm not saying it's
- 27:14not in the realm of possibilities.
- 27:15We won't get caught like last time, my first waiver.
- 27:17So we recommend that Josh Norris and he literally got hurt one
- 27:19game into the season. So bad luck there.
- 27:22And if that happens, listen, you cut him.
- 27:24But right now I feel this is the type of guy that it's like, it's
- 27:26like Adam Fantilli, we said that really change the dynamic of
- 27:29your team and be a season altering pickup.
- 27:32Josh Norris is in the same tier as Adam Fantilli.
- 27:34And my opinion like this could be a guy that the the the talent
- 27:38is there, the deployment is there, the opportunity is there.
- 27:42As long as the health is there, he's going to be productive.
- 27:44I want him on my fantasy team. I have him on my fantasy team
- 27:46and I'm pretty happy. Yeah.
- 27:48Like would you rather own a Josh Norris right now or and I'm
- 27:54going to go like pretty high ranked here, OK.
- 27:57Like if you have. Like, I really like Chuck
- 28:01Norris. I'm hoping.
- 28:02I don't. Yeah, I know you.
- 28:03Do crazy advice here. I know you do like so, so try to
- 28:06be as as objective as possible, but would you rather own Josh
- 28:10Norris or Timo Meyer? Probably just that has a.
- 28:16Probably Timo because of the new deployment that he has, but when
- 28:21if Teemo gets bummed out of P2 when Jack uses back like you'll
- 28:24be happier with Josh Norris. The names that I was thinking of
- 28:26is like I'd rather Josh Norris over Erickson Eck.
- 28:30Yeah, I mean, that's fair. I mean, look, you got you have
- 28:33someone like a Tyler Bertuzzi. I'm. 64 banger category leagues,
- 28:36like if you're just at a point that obviously it's it's more
- 28:40more one-dimensional, you have to think about it differently.
- 28:42But The thing is there's not many pure sees that hit the
- 28:45shots, the hits at a high level that also get goals and
- 28:49production. So like to me, I drafted in my
- 28:53draft, I drafted Dylan Cousins and Josh Norris back-to-back in
- 28:55the 9th and 10th round. I was, yeah, I was really happy
- 28:58with that. Yeah, selection I went, I went
- 29:00Logan Cooley, Logan Cooley, Dylan Cousins, Josh Norris.
- 29:02Like that was my centre that we started 4 centres every day.
- 29:05So yeah. You know another one is like a
- 29:07Mason Mctavish. That's not even a question.
- 29:09I want Josh Norris. There you go.
- 29:11And Mason rostered in 64% of leagues and he's been good this
- 29:16year. This is not to say, you know,
- 29:17it's not to say drop Mctavish or anything like that, but I think
- 29:21like the owned discrepancy in a week or two from now, provided
- 29:26the Norris stays healthy is not going to be, you know this like
- 29:28almost 30%. Difference.
- 29:30I'd rather just forward Dylan Strome.
- 29:33Yeah. And we spoke about that one that
- 29:35that's, that's interesting to me especially.
- 29:37Because like, Trump is probably safer bet to get more points and
- 29:39maybe maybe more power play points, but you're getting way
- 29:42more shots and hits from Josh Norris.
- 29:43And I think that makes up for the difference in points.
- 29:46Yeah. So I think that this is it comes
- 29:49with the injury risk, but if healthy it's an amazing, amazing
- 29:53pick and in a 12 plus team league season long hold.
- 29:56And if you're listening to this on Sunday morning and Josh
- 29:58Norris got hurt in practice before, like obviously we take
- 30:01we take it back, don't pick him up.
- 30:03But I can't. And it happens twice in one
- 30:05season to us so. Yeah, exactly.
- 30:08OK. And then we have.
- 30:10Number one. Patrick Kane of the Detroit Red
- 30:15Wings. Whoa.
- 30:17This is a crazy thing to talk about in a waiver episode if
- 30:21you've been playing fantasy for a long time where Patrick Kane
- 30:23was like a top three pick in some years.
- 30:27I mean you know the the the truth of the matter is that
- 30:31since he's come back from injury over like the past month or so,
- 30:36he's he's not been like a top ten pick or anything, but he's
- 30:40been like a second round pick pedigree.
- 30:42He's been crazy, 3.43 shots, .93 points .43 power play points
- 30:48like honestly, it sounds insane to say that this is the type of
- 30:54guy that should have been drafted in the top five rounds
- 30:57because like you know, he's old and he hasn't been like his true
- 31:00like what old school Patrick Kane has been for years.
- 31:03But I mean, this is nuts. This is absolutely crazy and we
- 31:07know he can do this because he's such an elite pedigree of
- 31:10player. So to me, the fact that he's
- 31:13only rostered in 39% of leagues like our threshold is 40.
- 31:16So it's really lucky we get to talk about him.
- 31:18But I think that this is the type of guy that can do.
- 31:23I mean, we know this. We know this how amazing he is.
- 31:25He hasn't been on such a great team like, you know, for a full
- 31:29season since the elite Chicago years are right.
- 31:32He got traded. He was on New York and it's it's
- 31:35tough to go to a new team mid-season.
- 31:37But now that he's had like an offseason with Detroit, who's
- 31:41been a pretty high flying offence this year, he's going to
- 31:43be a huge part of that. And I love this four games this
- 31:46upcoming week, four games in the next.
- 31:48If this continues this pace, he's probably gonna be like 60%
- 31:51owned sooner than later because he's relevant for both bangers
- 31:53on points leagues. So now is a great time to pick
- 31:56him up if you haven't already. Yeah, honestly, the fact that
- 32:00we're able to talk about him on this episode with how good he's
- 32:02been recently is is blasphemy. Let me put it out there.
- 32:06It's glassy. Yeah, there you go.
- 32:08By the time you're listening to this, maybe over 40 by.
- 32:10The way, yeah. But either way, like go check
- 32:12your waiver wire if he's available like those guys that
- 32:14are 60% on that. I'd rather have Patrick Kane.
- 32:17Listen, let me go over all of it.
- 32:19Last season. Last season on the season he was
- 32:21at .82 points per game .4 power play points and 2.4 shots.
- 32:27That's I'm not talking about the face of hits and blocks.
- 32:30You're not gonna get any of those, but 2.4 shots for you got
- 32:32us. You know, producing on the power
- 32:34play like that is great. Now this season he's averaging
- 32:37three shots .95 points .4 power play points over the last two
- 32:43weeks. He's at 1.3 points per game the
- 32:47last two weeks. That's still decent sample size.
- 32:49It just goes to show that like I'm telling you, he's been hot.
- 32:52He's shooting. The power play is great.
- 32:54They have the 7th ranked power play.
- 32:55Last season they were top five. Like this is a power play.
- 32:58I think at this point that we can we can have confidence in
- 33:00that it's actually good and the players on this and the system,
- 33:03it works well. They have four games this week,
- 33:05four games next week. I picked him up in the league
- 33:09that I was shocked he was available and I've I've held him
- 33:12and I've been super happy. So he's the type of guy that is
- 33:16good to stay on your roster the whole season.
- 33:17I feel like because first of all, the power play exposure is
- 33:20incredible. The points threshold is high.
- 33:23I'm not saying he's gonna finish with a point per game, but could
- 33:25anyone .9 that's very realistic, honestly, for the way he's
- 33:28producing right now and his shooting percentage is only 7%
- 33:31right now. So you know that he's going to
- 33:32get more goals in the near future.
- 33:35I think honestly, there's like you can't go wrong with this
- 33:37pickup. I'd be shocked and even if let's
- 33:40say I recommend it to I recommend Patrick Kane to you
- 33:42four games. He gets you like one point.
- 33:44Somehow he ends up with no points.
- 33:46Upcoming week is going to be an you're not going to be happy
- 33:48with the pickup. But I'm still gonna keep Patrick
- 33:50Kane on my roster for the for the upcoming upcoming weeks
- 33:53because I just think that he's he's set up for so much success
- 33:56that even if, you know, bad weeks happen, I'm still
- 33:59confident that I want him on my team for the long term.
- 34:01So if he's available, I really want to pick him up.
- 34:04Yeah, absolutely. This is this is a great
- 34:07opportunity to to turn your team around with with picking them
- 34:11up. You should not be this this
- 34:13widely available. So really this is a great
- 34:16choice. So the top three, you know, was
- 34:19it a good pickup choices for this week?
- 34:21Owen Tippett, Josh Norris, Patrick Kane.
- 34:23I really love it. And I wanna ask you out of after
- 34:26the top three we just listed, Tippit Norris came.
- 34:29Our main guys, like they all have four games this week, want
- 34:32you to pick them up. Who's your favorite guy outside
- 34:35of that top three that you would like to pick up for your fantasy
- 34:37team? Jason's Locker.
- 34:40Are you biased on your team right now?
- 34:42Probably I'm I'm noticing it because he's on my team.
- 34:45That's the truth. Like it's like, you know, as as
- 34:48much as we like to analyze the league and and make sure we're
- 34:51on top of everything, like you pay more attention to your team
- 34:54and just the way it is. That's normal, realistic.
- 34:57Yeah. But realistically why I'm
- 34:59choosing that is firstly, the four games this week, 3 next
- 35:03week, but still 4 this week is awesome.
- 35:06Matt Zuccarello would probably, that's my other choice, even
- 35:13though I do love Jared McCann. I think that like longevity
- 35:16between Jared McCann, Zuccarello and Zucker, I'd probably want
- 35:20that. But like we're talking, we're
- 35:22talking. The next spitting feathers here.
- 35:24Yeah, exactly. But Jason Zucker has just been
- 35:27so good. And with Norris back, if he
- 35:30stays healthy, like that whole Buffalo power play is just good
- 35:33and they're going to be good. So I really, really like it.
- 35:36And he's the most low key name and he's owned in the least
- 35:39amount of leagues. So, so yeah, but exciting week
- 35:44ahead. Yeah, very, very exciting.
- 35:47OK, let's do our top five bangers.
- 35:50Yeah. So of the Pittsburgh Penguins at
- 35:54#5 we have Legally Blonde Reese Witherspoon.
- 35:58That's a joke. Yeah.
- 36:01Parker Wotherspoon, son of Shane Doe.
- 36:07Absolute nonsense. OK, he's had one shot, two hits
- 36:11and 1.5 blocks per game this season.
- 36:13Decent, decent numbers playing good minutes, though he's got
- 36:18the top minutes of anybody on this list at 21 minutes a night.
- 36:22The main thing here, though, four games this week, four games
- 36:26next week for Pittsburgh. So if you need to bolster your
- 36:29your peripheral banger categories, this is a great
- 36:31choice. Yeah, he.
- 36:34He he is a type of guy that I feel he just came out of
- 36:38nowhere. Like at the start of the season
- 36:39he was not on my radar and suddenly I'm looking at, you
- 36:42know, who's available on waivers and everything.
- 36:43And listen, he's only 5% owned right now and he's basically
- 36:47doing Connor Clifton numbers, who we always hope is healthy
- 36:51because or playing in the lineup because when he plays, he's a
- 36:54banger, big beast. But he's scratched every other
- 36:56game but Witherspoon over the last two weeks.
- 37:00He's almost four hits a game, 1.7 blocks a game.
- 37:05So you're getting exposure to those two banger categories.
- 37:07He'll throw in a shot here and there like you can't go wrong.
- 37:10He's got four games this week, four games next week.
- 37:12So you can plan ahead in terms of like getting your banger
- 37:14league exposure there. He's he's a great option.
- 37:18Yeah, yeah, it's a great choice. Next at #4 of the New Jersey
- 37:23Devils, we have Brendan Dillon, who's been a kind of like a
- 37:27mainstay on this list. 2.48 hits, 1.59 blocks.
- 37:31Yeah, he's a he. He's not really a shots guy.
- 37:35And I honestly, personally, I would prefer Wetherspoon over
- 37:38Dylan for this upcoming week. I just feel like the hits are
- 37:41have a higher threshold. Like if you look at the over the
- 37:44season, Dylan has been hitting more, but as of late Witherspoon
- 37:47has been hitting more. The blocks are basically
- 37:49identical. Witherspoon has the extra game
- 37:51in the week 11. So I would prefer that.
- 37:54But honestly, like, you can't go wrong with these two guys.
- 37:57Yeah, pretty pretty much split in feathers, as we like to say,
- 38:01between the two. OK #3 Radko Gudas of the Anaheim
- 38:06Ducks. Honestly, I mean, you said this
- 38:10last week, it's pretty crazy to have to recommend him in a
- 38:12bangers league. Yeah, we are doing this based on
- 38:14percentages. He's under 40% owned, but 3.6,
- 38:17three hits, 2, two blocks a game, crazy low minute 16, like
- 38:22he's on a mission every time he's on the ice with three games
- 38:25this week, in four, next week. If you haven't picked him up in
- 38:27a bangers league yet, now is the time.
- 38:29He has a lot of opportunity over the next two weeks to do to
- 38:34really bolster your peripheral categories.
- 38:36So this is a good time. To do not much to say guys, it's
- 38:39radical goodness. He's only 27% owned so we have
- 38:42to mention him like if you're in a serious banger league is most
- 38:44likely rostered. But if you're in a banger league
- 38:47category specifically and you look at your waivers and he's
- 38:50there somehow like his minutes have not necessarily been there.
- 38:52He's only got 3 three games this week.
- 38:54But this type of guy that you add because you want to have
- 38:57that banger position solidified on your roster for like the
- 39:00foreseeable future and you could pick him up this.
- 39:01We can just hold them and that's the goal here.
- 39:04One of the best shots, not shots, one of the best hits.
- 39:08Blocks guys any also, yeah, out of all the guys were coming
- 39:11today, he shoots the most. Not saying is a lot, but he
- 39:13shoots the most, yeah. Yeah, and why it's not
- 39:17irrelevant. I mean, 1.63 shots per game,
- 39:19like that's, that's something that's on, especially with the
- 39:21banger categories. What a fantasy asset.
- 39:23For more than Elias Lindholm, so.
- 39:26Yeah, it's true. Wow, cancer gets a good way to
- 39:29put it. OK then next from the Utah
- 39:33mammoth, we have Jack Mcbean. Only forward on this list.
- 39:36So nice to include a forward over here. 1.32 Shaw, so still
- 39:40less than Radko Gudas, but 3.0 four hits, which is awesome.
- 39:43The blocks for a forward of .82 is not irrelevant at all.
- 39:46Four games this week, four games next week.
- 39:49Josh said the other day jokingly because he has he has four of
- 39:52the best players in the league on his team, but he was like
- 39:55Jack Mcbean is the best you're on my team.
- 39:57So indeed banger leagues, especially like he can do a he
- 40:01can do a lot of good things and his face offs are pretty decent
- 40:04too. 6.5 over the last two weeks, not nothing.
- 40:08And his points are .63 over the last two weeks.
- 40:10So I would not expect the points at all.
- 40:13But for Bangor leagues with face offs, it's a it's a pretty
- 40:16decent player to roster. Yeah, the faceoffs honestly are
- 40:19are an extra bonus. He's centre left wing eligible.
- 40:22So if you want to get your banger status this upcoming week
- 40:24from a forward position, like there's literally nobody better
- 40:26than Jack McBain. He's honestly like been
- 40:28contributing in points to as we record this.
- 40:30He's got three points in his last two games, not relying on
- 40:33that, but the four games this upcoming week, four games the
- 40:37week after and there might not be a better forward that's gonna
- 40:40get you face offs, hits and blocks.
- 40:43Like it's actually what he's been doing recently.
- 40:45I love this pic. I'm really sad that Josh has
- 40:47them because Josh traded all his guys to get like the four best
- 40:50players in the league almost. So he's getting so much points
- 40:54production there. He just pick up a Jack McBain to
- 40:56make up for all the category coverage she lost.
- 40:58So pretty unfair if you ask me. But alas, Josh is not here to
- 41:02defend himself. Josh, I hate you.
- 41:07Yeah, OK, let's get to #1. Yeah #1 is a favorite of the
- 41:12Montreal Canadians camera crew and Josh's wife.
- 41:15We have Ben Sharat of the Detroit Red Wings, who's been an
- 41:20absolute monster for Kevin over the past week. 2.36 hits 2.
- 41:26Just yeah, good point. I stand corrected. 2 weeks, 2.36
- 41:29hits, 2.29 blocks. This is wild.
- 41:33And I feel like that's on the season.
- 41:36Over the past two weeks, he's been even better.
- 41:38He's had a few games with points too, which is not a thing that's
- 41:42going to stay, but really, really nice cherry on top to the
- 41:46insane production. I mean, like just crazy.
- 41:49Two shots over the past two weeks, 2.5 seven hits, three
- 41:53blocks. The Pimms to like, I mean, I I
- 41:57think he's gonna obviously regress, but at 23% owned and
- 42:01Yahoo really like this is for four games this week, four games
- 42:05next week and awesome pickup. Yep, He's one of the best
- 42:08defenseman out there for Bangor leagues that is balanced and
- 42:11hits and blocks. Because usually what you'll have
- 42:13is you'll have one guy that's like he'll get you a four hits,
- 42:15but like one block type of thing.
- 42:17Whereas he'll get you the blocks, which are a little more
- 42:20rare this season in terms of like having guys that are
- 42:22actually useful on their team be good at blocks and other stuff.
- 42:25And he's getting you close to three hits a game.
- 42:27I Ben Scroll is and I got him and I traded a throw in two
- 42:30weeks ago. It was a throw in for the other
- 42:32manager, but I kind of knew what I was doing.
- 42:33And yeah, so now I have been short on my team and I'm pretty
- 42:37happy with it. He's gonna be on my team for the
- 42:38foreseeable future. Detroit's got four games in week
- 42:4110, four games a week 11. So you're not worried about
- 42:43that. You know, you're optimizing the
- 42:45schedule. I I think he's a phenomenal
- 42:47defenseman. I drafted Alexander Romanov and
- 42:50like round 12, hoping that I would get this kind of
- 42:52production. That was a disappointment.
- 42:54Then he got hurt out for the season, so the fact that I was
- 42:56able to just make a straight swap with Ben Sherrod and kind
- 42:58of like get what I'm looking for was kind of lucky, but
- 43:01nonetheless really happy about it.
- 43:03I put him in. He's getting closer to that tier
- 43:05of like, the the Goodies, the Lawsons, the guys that, you
- 43:09know, are just always good at bangers.
- 43:12Yeah. Yeah, yeah, he's a he's really
- 43:16good and he he has like the like the shots are not horrible as
- 43:19the last two weeks too. Yeah.
- 43:20So I I really like it. Detroit's like a pretty insane
- 43:24offensive team, like really underrated.
- 43:26So I obviously that's not his Forte.
- 43:29But if the whole mandate of the team is like shoot the puck,
- 43:32like just having that as a plus as well.
- 43:35I really like Ben Tarot. OK, now we're going to get to
- 43:39into our top three quantity goalies.
- 43:41These are goalies that we think are going to get 2 plus starts,
- 43:44barring injury of course. So I'm just going to list all
- 43:47three and we're going to dive into it and we'll see who your
- 43:49favorite is. We have Elvis Presley, Guns of
- 43:52the Columbus Blue Jackets, Cam Talbot of the Detroit Red Wings,
- 43:55and UPL Ukkonen. I know I mispronounced that for
- 43:59all. Of you.
- 44:02Exactly. That's six KB.
- 44:03That's the authentic pronunciation of the Buffalo
- 44:06Sabres. So they, Talbot and UPL have
- 44:10four games, none of the only one back-to-back for each team.
- 44:16But I will say that my favorite here because like, it's it's not
- 44:22gonna be Elvis. And I know, I know why you know,
- 44:26he's on this list is because he has been playing like the stars
- 44:30have been kind of like all over the place there.
- 44:32I don't I don't think that he's gonna take the starting job from
- 44:37Grieves. And I think there's a chance
- 44:39that Grieves gets to the games. Do you agree?
- 44:41Yeah, I think pretty much So we're talking.
- 44:44We're at the end of Week 9 right now and Columbus had four games.
- 44:48Elvis started the 1st 2:00 and then the last two are Saturdays
- 44:51and then back-to-back and he's playing the first one on the
- 44:53back-to-back on the Saturday. So he's basically getting three
- 44:55games in a row now. I used to have Elvis on my
- 44:57roster and then there was one week they were splitting 5050
- 45:01every week. It was 11 game Elvis, one game
- 45:04Jet and then I held Elvis and he got 0 games.
- 45:07When they had four games they played Jet every game even on
- 45:09the back-to-back. Now it seems like, OK I'll so I
- 45:12dropped Elvis for Jet and now Jet has got 0 games this week
- 45:15and Elvis has got all the games. So it's one of those things that
- 45:18it feels hard to predict. Jet was in a little bit of a
- 45:20rough stretch where they lost, I think they lost like six games
- 45:23in overtime in a row and they were just like choking leagues
- 45:26in third period. It was honestly bad, but I don't
- 45:28expect Elvis to be the starter moving forward.
- 45:30Maybe he's getting running games because he's a little bit of a
- 45:32trade bait too, but I expect Jet to start the Sunday game and
- 45:36then probably the Carolina game and he's getting at least two of
- 45:38those games. I think, uh, yeah.
- 45:42So, so that's, that's a risk with Nurse Lakins there.
- 45:45They're also tough opponents. So he's kind of like easily #3
- 45:50for me there and. Then you have the shots, we'll
- 45:53say the most shots against. So he's the only one that these
- 45:56guys that are gonna average close to 30 saves.
- 45:58So if you're if you're league count saves, it does give a
- 46:01little bit of a safe blanket there if you pick up Elvis.
- 46:05Yeah. And then the next two over here,
- 46:08it's honestly interchangeable for me because I feel like
- 46:11they're both playing great opponents.
- 46:14So this is a really tough week for the for the the quantity
- 46:19goalie starts to be honest, I guess.
- 46:21Yep. I'll just say to me like it's
- 46:23UPL is the clear guy to pick up because first of all, they start
- 46:29the week with a back-to-back Calgary, Edmonton.
- 46:31Now Edmonton is obviously super scary, but Calgary's not so
- 46:34scary. So I'm hoping he gets the
- 46:37Calgary game, you play him, then somebody else plays the Edmonton
- 46:41game and then they got Vancouver and Seattle.
- 46:43I'm not super intimidated by any of those teams to be honest.
- 46:45Like I feel like Buffalo could win those games.
- 46:47So you could realistically get 3 quality starts.
- 46:50Also UPL, like this is a guy they drafted to be the goalie of
- 46:52the future on this team. Like and then he kind of got
- 46:55hurt, wasn't playing well. He basically also said like he's
- 46:59not really happy if he's not playing because he wants to make
- 47:01a he want. I think it's team Sweden.
- 47:03Like he wants to be the goalie that that goes to the Olympics.
- 47:05One of the goals that goes to the Olympics, Finland, sorry.
- 47:09And. You just pronounced his name.
- 47:13My bad PPL. But so he's basically saying
- 47:17like, listen, if I'm not playing like I wanna go somewhere I'm
- 47:19gonna play cause I wanna be in the Olympics team.
- 47:21So I think they have incentive to actually play him most of
- 47:24these games. He's also supposed to be the
- 47:26best goalie on this team right now.
- 47:29So I think the cards are there that he's going to be the guy
- 47:32whether they want to trade him or not and that's why they give
- 47:34him the games. But I I think he's the best pick
- 47:36up this week for a. Quantity, I do agree.
- 47:39I do agree it's just both goalies.
- 47:41It's a road trip. All four games are away both.
- 47:44So that's a caveat to say that it's like not that easy.
- 47:47But I agree if you're in a pinch, not even in the boys are
- 47:49hard. It's not a bad pickup.
- 47:51Yeah, it's not a bad pickup. There's a chance that he gets
- 47:53three of the games and I would say less likely the Talbot gets
- 47:57the three. So yeah, UPL is the choice for
- 47:59us here then. Top three quality goalie starts.
- 48:04OK, this is a fun one. Brandon Bussey, Jake Allen,
- 48:09Yonas Johansson or Johansson. We can't go one game without not
- 48:13mentioning Brandon Bussey, it feels like.
- 48:15We can't we. Can't buy one game.
- 48:18I mean one episode. Yeah, seriously.
- 48:21So Brandon Bussey is OK. I think that he should be the
- 48:28best guy on this list, but it's super up in the air because he
- 48:32may play they play three games, he may play one game or he may
- 48:38play zero. Yeah, right.
- 48:40Very ambiguous. Super ambiguous if he plays a
- 48:43game. Like the idea for the top three
- 48:46quality goalies is that he gets one good matchup, and I think
- 48:51that he's the best choice here because they have a back-to-back
- 48:54with Philly, so they could beat Philly twice.
- 48:56Yeah, they play 5. Both came on the back-to-back.
- 48:59Exactly. But like, he also just may not
- 49:02play. So it's really scary.
- 49:05Easily the most polarizing there.
- 49:07And then Vasilevski's been dealing with some injury issues.
- 49:11So if Johansson does actually get 2 of their four games next
- 49:16week for Tampa Bay, even though they're all away games, top is
- 49:20just so good. I mean the the back-to-back is
- 49:22Toronto, Montreal. Tampa could win either and then
- 49:25the Devils, they could win ever. They could beat any team
- 49:29basically. So he's the safest bet.
- 49:32Yep, I think just to talk on, you know, Jake Allen, did he
- 49:36have a New Jersey, has a back-to-back with Anaheim and
- 49:39Vancouver feels like 2 beatable teams.
- 49:41I'd rather he play Vancouver because that's more of a a bleep
- 49:44show right now. But Jonas Johansson as we speak
- 49:47right now, Vasilevsky is not playing the Saturday game in in
- 49:52week 9. So he's two games in a row.
- 49:55We are told that it's not long term, but maybe listen as you
- 49:58listen to this episode, maybe you have more recent knowledge.
- 50:01So keep a monitor that situation to see if he's missing any sort
- 50:04of time on prioritizing Yonus Johansen.
- 50:06Yeah, but you won't be able to listen to this podcast before
- 50:09having that information already. So it'll probably be a timely
- 50:11situation. But nonetheless, he's gonna get
- 50:13one of the games on the back-to-back.
- 50:14Toronto, Montreal. I think both are valuable games.
- 50:18And yeah, I think Brandon Bussey, though just a caveat
- 50:22because we have to talk about Kochetkov like Loki, little hot
- 50:25topic here, but the, the the the trainers basically cleared him
- 50:29to play. They were like, this guy is high
- 50:31enough time off, like he's ready to play.
- 50:33And he's basically said like he does not feel ready to play.
- 50:36So first of all, I think that's not a good look for him in terms
- 50:39of the team. Like they got guys like Anderson
- 50:41and Busy going to going to battle like every week trying to
- 50:44play while he's out and the trainers have cleared him to
- 50:48play. And he's like, no, I'm not
- 50:50ready. So I told the coaching staff is
- 50:51more going to prioritize the guys that are actually playing
- 50:53right now. And I think this just gives an
- 50:55opportunity to busy to like, you know, cement his spot and play
- 50:58more. Like, why would they go back to
- 51:00Kochetkov after you left them high and dry after being
- 51:02cleared? Obviously a lot more context and
- 51:04information we don't have. But I just think, like, the
- 51:06sentiment overall, Like the guy in the locker room that are
- 51:09fighting for you on a nightly basis are the guys that you
- 51:11wanna, like, get rather, like, gather behind.
- 51:14Yeah. But he's been really good when
- 51:16he's playing. So I feel like out of all the
- 51:17guys, he has the most upside. But if Kochetkov comes back in
- 51:21Week 10 and he's no he's gonna be playing if he's back, that's
- 51:25when you probably have to monitor the situation.
- 51:27And A3 goalie rotation when they have four games in a week is is
- 51:32not a good situation. So that's why both season #3 and
- 51:34not higher. Yeah, like there's there's no
- 51:37good. Like if Kochetkov actually
- 51:39doesn't feel right and their trainers have cleared him to
- 51:42play, that means that it's it's a very weird injury.
- 51:46And that could be really bad. Or if he actually just like
- 51:50having said it, just leaving the Hurricanes high, high and dry, I
- 51:53mean. Jake wants it to happen because
- 51:55he's busy on his fantasy team, but.
- 51:57No, no. But like I've said all year that
- 52:00I think could Chekov is actually a really good goalie.
- 52:02Like truthfully, he is, I think. I've been able to push back on
- 52:04that. Yeah, like I'm, I, I look, I
- 52:09just think the Hurricanes are great.
- 52:10Anderson is is way past his prime and also injury prone.
- 52:14So you have a few outs having busy on your team.
- 52:17But realistically, if healthy and normally playing Kochetkov
- 52:22is I think the best guide on we'll see how it shakes out as a
- 52:25three headed monster, that's bad.
- 52:27But if he does get that game busy next week, I expect them to
- 52:30win. OK, Thank you to everybody for
