Speaker 1: But you get the Graham morning mate. Why am I
• 0:03
Speaker 1: there's Litby? I mean just I mean I assume people remember.
• 0:06
Speaker 1: But she was convicted several times over of killing babies
• 0:09
Speaker 1: and attempted murders as well. So we've got yet another trial.
• 0:12
Speaker 1: This one was a retrial, right.
• 0:14
Speaker 2: That's right. Yes, name Lucy Letby might not mean much,
• 0:18
Speaker 2: but the former nurse is the UK's most prolific child
• 0:21
Speaker 2: killer and indeed she was found guilty back in August
• 0:25
Speaker 2: of by a different jury of seven babies and the
• 0:28
Speaker 2: attempted murder of six others at a hospital in Chester
• 0:32
Speaker 2: in northwest England in one year period between twenty fifteen
• 0:35
Speaker 2: and twenty sixteen. But at that trial there was also
• 0:39
Speaker 2: the case of an allegation relating to a baby simply
• 0:41
Speaker 2: known as Baby K of only premature baby, and the
• 0:44
Speaker 2: jury said they couldn't reach a verdict, so a retrial
• 0:47
Speaker 2: was ordered. That has concluded today and she's been found
• 0:50
Speaker 2: guilty of that murder as well. When the jury foreman
• 0:54
Speaker 2: read out the guilty verdict, the parents there of little
• 0:57
Speaker 2: Baby K gasped and let be sh no emotion in
• 1:01
Speaker 2: the dock. Part of the evidence was by a consultant
• 1:04
Speaker 2: pediatrician who said that he caught a virtually quote red
• 1:07
Speaker 2: handed as he entered the unit's intensive care room very
• 1:10
Speaker 2: early in the morning. He said that he didn't intervene
• 1:14
Speaker 2: to resuscipate the child when the blood oxygen levels were
• 1:17
Speaker 2: dropping very, very rapidly. He said he'd seen no evidence
• 1:21
Speaker 2: that lucy Letbey had done anything to help the baby,
• 1:24
Speaker 2: and indeed, lucy let Be was accused of basically fiddling
• 1:28
Speaker 2: with the tube that was keeping that baby alive in.
• 1:31
Speaker 1: Order to kill unreal. So then we got this bloke
• 1:33
Speaker 1: on the yacht having a party and the next thing,
• 1:36
Speaker 1: you know, Greece is alight? Is that how it worked?
• 1:38
Speaker 2: Yes, yes, pretty much, so are the allegations. So there
• 1:42
Speaker 2: was a luxury yacht moored off an island in Greece,
• 1:45
Speaker 2: and the Greek islands really currently suffering from a terrific
• 1:49
Speaker 2: heat wave, very very early for this time of year,
• 1:53
Speaker 2: and the luxury yacht, it appears, was full of Kazakhstan's
• 1:57
Speaker 2: richest people, and one of them was said to be
• 2:02
Speaker 2: in charge of the yacht. When they decided to have
• 2:05
Speaker 2: a fireworks display, the fireworks display stepped far to an island.
• 2:09
Speaker 2: Nobody was killed or injured, but it did cause extensive
• 2:12
Speaker 2: damage to a beautiful island south of Athens called Hydra.
• 2:16
Speaker 2: And so now the crew are being prosecuted, and indeed
• 2:22
Speaker 2: those eight Kazakh nationals on board are being prosecuted for
• 2:26
Speaker 2: complicity to Arsen by the Greek authorities. And suffice to
• 2:30
Speaker 2: say that although the crew are receiving the sharp end
• 2:34
Speaker 2: of this, there is plenty of interest in the allegations
• 2:37
Speaker 2: against one of Kazakhstan's richest ment Dania Albergazin. He's a
• 2:42
Speaker 2: major figure in the petroleum industry, a fortune estimated at
• 2:46
Speaker 2: almost seven hundred million New Zealand dollars, and he says, look,
• 2:51
Speaker 2: you know, I have absolutely no idea of this at all.
• 2:55
Speaker 2: There's certainly not anything to do with me. But obviously
• 2:59
Speaker 2: plenty of Greeks really upset about luxury yachts, just in
• 3:02
Speaker 2: the thinking that they rule the world, as it were,
• 3:05
Speaker 2: when they're mooring off these islands.
• 3:07
