- 0:01Speaker 1: Miss President, Senator from Georgia.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Thank you, mister President. I yield thirty minutes of my
- 0:09Speaker 2: post culture debate time on the vote nomination to Senator
- 0:13Speaker 2: Merkley and thirty minutes of my post culture debate time
- 0:16Speaker 2: on the vote nomination to Senator Schumer.
- 0:20Speaker 1: The Senator has that right.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Thank you, Miss Sherman.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Mister President, the Senator from Louisiana, Thank you, mister President.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Mister President, I have eight requests for committees to meet
- 0:39Speaker 1: during today's session of the Senate. They have the approval
- 0:42Speaker 1: of the Majority and Minority leaders. Duly noted, Thank you,
- 0:47Speaker 1: mister President. With me today is one of my colleagues
- 0:50Speaker 1: from my Senate office, mister James Say. He is one
- 0:56Speaker 1: of my right hand people and does great work, and
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm hondered that he could join me today. Gosh, I
- 1:07Speaker 1: don't know where to begin. I've been in the Senate
- 1:14Speaker 1: for eight years. In dog years, that's fifty six years,
- 1:21Speaker 1: and it feels like fifty six years. I've learned a
- 1:25Speaker 1: lot and met a lot of interesting people. You know,
- 1:30Speaker 1: before I got here, everybody told me about the Washington bubble,
- 1:37Speaker 1: and I said, aye, you know, how serious could they be? Well?
- 1:41Speaker 1: They It's true there is a Washington bubble. This place
- 1:48Speaker 1: is different. It's in its own way, sometimes disappointing, sometimes refreshing.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It is deeply eared. Uh. For one thing, common sense
- 2:06Speaker 1: is illegal in Washington. It's it's illegal. For another thing,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I've discovered that this is a town of very frustrated
- 2:21Speaker 1: X class presidents, and there's a Washington way of doing things.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And when things aren't done that way, when somebody challenges
- 2:37Speaker 1: the status quo, many, not all, but many of these
- 2:43Speaker 1: frustrated X class presidents in Washington on the Hill and otherwise,
- 2:50Speaker 1: they get excited, not in a good way. They can't
- 2:58Speaker 1: get their mind around doing anything other than the Washington way.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Some of them, particularly in the media, they go almost catatonic,
- 3:13Speaker 1: or the exact opposite. They phone at the mouth and
- 3:17Speaker 1: they really get upset. They can make they can make
- 3:21Speaker 1: a valium nervous. It's like the world, we're not doing
- 3:26Speaker 1: things the way we've always done them, and the world's
- 3:31Speaker 1: gonna spin off its axis. I want to try to
- 3:36Speaker 1: put in perspective what many of my Democratic friends have
- 3:40Speaker 1: been talking about today. They're very, very very upset at
- 3:46Speaker 1: President Trump, and they're very very very upset at Elon Musk.
- 3:56Speaker 1: President Trump ran for president on a number of issues.
- 4:02Speaker 1: One of the issues he ran on, he said it
- 4:06Speaker 1: almost every day. He said, if you will make me president,
- 4:11Speaker 1: I'm going to go through the entire budget and review
- 4:15Speaker 1: all the spending line by line. I heard if I
- 4:17Speaker 1: heard him say that once. I heard him said a
- 4:19Speaker 1: thousand times. And that's what he's been doing. He went
- 4:27Speaker 1: out and appointed through an executive order, Elon Musk, who
- 4:34Speaker 1: some people like him, some don't, but he's not a dummy.
- 4:38Speaker 1: He's a very successful business person. He's got a top
- 4:42Speaker 1: secret security clearance. President Trump issued an executive order and
- 4:47Speaker 1: he turned to mister Musk and he said, mister Musk,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I want you to do for me what I said
- 4:53Speaker 1: I was going to do in the election. I want
- 4:55Speaker 1: you to go through all the spending line by line. Now,
- 5:01Speaker 1: let me ask you something, mister president. How are you
- 5:05Speaker 1: going to review the spending without reviewing the spending. How
- 5:14Speaker 1: are you going to audit the spending by an agency
- 5:18Speaker 1: without auditing the agency. That's what I mean when I
- 5:24Speaker 1: say common sense is illegal in Washington. They see that's
- 5:28Speaker 1: what mister Musk is doing. He's put together a cracker
- 5:32Speaker 1: jack team and uh, they're going through everybody spending line
- 5:37Speaker 1: by line, item by them. And my my Democratic colleagues
- 5:46Speaker 1: are very, very very upset, and they they're they they've
- 5:51Speaker 1: been very eloquent. They've talked about the process and President
- 5:56Speaker 1: Trump's executive orders supposedly supposedly violates the Constitution. And they've
- 6:06Speaker 1: accused mister Musk of having conflicts of interest. And I've
- 6:11Speaker 1: heard people say he's sitting over there with a notepad
- 6:14Speaker 1: copying down everybody's Social Security number and he's going to
- 6:17Speaker 1: go use it to make money. I mean people in
- 6:23Speaker 1: this town, not just my Democratic colleagues. They're really upset.
- 6:27Speaker 1: They've never said anybody question their spending, but that's what
- 6:33Speaker 1: mister Musk is doing. But you know what, I've mistened.
- 6:36Speaker 1: This has been going on for a week. People have
- 6:38Speaker 1: been screaming like they're part of a prison riot. Oh
- 6:42Speaker 1: my god, look at what Musk is doing. He's looking
- 6:45Speaker 1: at the spending. And I've listened to people talk about
- 6:49Speaker 1: the process and debate whether it's constitutional, and discuss how
- 6:54Speaker 1: many lawyers can dance on the head of a pen.
- 6:57Speaker 1: But you know what, I haven't heard one one single
- 7:01Speaker 1: person who's upset with President Trump or mister Musk talk
- 7:06Speaker 1: about what he's found. They don't want to talk about
- 7:14Speaker 1: the spending, the spending porn, the waste of taxpayer money
- 7:19Speaker 1: that he's found. I mean, that's the point of all this.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I tell you who is interested, the American people. The
- 7:31Speaker 1: people in America who get up every day and go
- 7:33Speaker 1: to work and obey the law and pay their taxes
- 7:37Speaker 1: and try to educate their kids and try to do
- 7:39Speaker 1: the right thing by their kids, and try to save
- 7:42Speaker 1: a little money for retirement. And I've had to live
- 7:47Speaker 1: through twenty percent inflation under President Biden. They understand what
- 7:52Speaker 1: Musk is doing. They understand spending porn and wasting taxpayer money. Now,
- 8:02Speaker 1: mister Musk started with the U. S a I D.
- 8:06Speaker 1: That hands handles and a lot of a foreign aid
- 8:10Speaker 1: for America. American people very generous and in our country,
- 8:17Speaker 1: Uh you know, when you're homeless, will will house you
- 8:21Speaker 1: when you're when you're hungry, we'll feach in our country.
- 8:25Speaker 1: When you're too poor to be sick, we'll pay for
- 8:26Speaker 1: you doctor. And we we send a lot of money
- 8:29Speaker 1: overseas to help our world's neighbors. And the U. S
- 8:33Speaker 1: a I D Is in charge in large part of that.
- 8:38Speaker 1: But I'll tell you what mister Musk discovered. I find
- 8:43Speaker 1: it it fascinating. He discovered that the American taxpayers are
- 8:53Speaker 1: giving money to Afghanistan. He found that we are giving
- 9:02Speaker 1: money to Yemen. He found that we are giving money
- 9:11Speaker 1: to Assyria. I didn't know that some of our foreign
- 9:16Speaker 1: aid is going to Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria. He found that
- 9:24Speaker 1: the USAID has ten thousand people, ten thousand people employees,
- 9:32Speaker 1: and every year they give away forty billion dollars. Mister
- 9:38Speaker 1: Musk also found and I'm not saying that all of
- 9:43Speaker 1: this money is wasteful. I'm not Some of this money
- 9:47Speaker 1: I'm sure does some good. That's why Secretary of Rubio
- 9:52Speaker 1: is going to revamp the department to separate the good
- 9:56Speaker 1: from the bat. But this is the kind of stuff
- 10:00Speaker 1: mister Musk found. He found that the USAID gave money
- 10:08Speaker 1: to support electric vehicles in Vietnam, our money, taxpayer money.
- 10:15Speaker 1: He found that USAID gave money to a transgender clinic
- 10:20Speaker 1: in India. I didn't know that. Bestially, the American people
- 10:25Speaker 1: didn't know that. He found that the USA I D
- 10:31Speaker 1: gave one point five million dollars to a Serbian LB
- 10:36Speaker 1: LGBTQ group called GROUPA is a dodgy. I probably mispronounced
- 10:42Speaker 1: that in my apologies. Anyway, they got one point five
- 10:46Speaker 1: million dollars to quote advanced diversity, equity inclusion in Serbia's
- 10:51Speaker 1: workplaces and business community. What else did mister Musk found
- 10:57Speaker 1: that my colleagues don't want to talk about. Well, he
- 11:04Speaker 1: reviewed a study and then went and checked it. The
- 11:07Speaker 1: study was done by the Middle East Ford. They found
- 11:12Speaker 1: that USAID spent one hundred and sixty four million dollars
- 11:20Speaker 1: to support radical organizations around the world. We're not talking
- 11:26Speaker 1: cub Scout troops here, We're talking about radical organizations around
- 11:31Speaker 1: the world. They gave one hundred and twenty two million
- 11:34Speaker 1: dollars of that to groups aligned with foreign terrorists, organizations
- 11:41Speaker 1: our taxpayer money. According to this report in mister Musk,
- 11:48Speaker 1: the USAID has given millions of dollars to quote organizations
- 11:53Speaker 1: in Gaza controlled by allmus Why aren't my colleagues talking
- 12:04Speaker 1: about that. Recipients of the money they found have quote
- 12:11Speaker 1: called for their lands to be cleansed from the impurity
- 12:15Speaker 1: of Jews. That's what we're getting on far and eight too.
- 12:23Speaker 1: What else I'm not gonna spend my whole time talking
- 12:25Speaker 1: about this, but nobody else is talking about it. They're
- 12:29Speaker 1: just talking about the process. And mister Musk and he's
- 12:32Speaker 1: a mean guy, and he shouldn't be looking at our
- 12:36Speaker 1: spending well of his, And I kind I kind of
- 12:42Speaker 1: find what he's found out interesting. He found that we
- 12:45Speaker 1: gave two million dollars USAID did for sex changes in Guatemala.
- 12:54Speaker 1: He found that we gave twenty million dollars to produce
- 12:57Speaker 1: a new sesame street show in a rack. He found
- 13:02Speaker 1: that we we gave four point five million dollars of
- 13:05Speaker 1: taxpayer money to combat disinformation in Kazakistan. He found that
- 13:12Speaker 1: we gave ten million dollars USAID did of meals to
- 13:19Speaker 1: an al Qaeda linked terrorist group called the Nousrough Front.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Mister Musk found that we gave seven point nine million
- 13:30Speaker 1: dollars of taxpayer money to a project that would teach
- 13:34Speaker 1: three lacking journalists to avoid binary gendered language. We took
- 13:42Speaker 1: the USAID took eight million bucks and gave it to
- 13:47Speaker 1: a bunch of journalists in shrn Akka to teach him
- 13:51Speaker 1: how to avoid binary gendered language. I don't know what
- 13:54Speaker 1: the hell binary gendered language is. I think, I do
- 14:00Speaker 1: you think most taxpayers would support that? Why are we
- 14:03Speaker 1: talking about that? Or the USAID gave one point five
- 14:07Speaker 1: million dollars to promote LGBT advocacy in Jamaica. They gave
- 14:13Speaker 1: one point five million dollars to rebuild the Cuban media ecosystem.
- 14:23Speaker 1: They gave one point five million dollars for quote art
- 14:26Speaker 1: for inclusion of people with disabilities in Belarus, another three
- 14:32Speaker 1: point nine million dollars for LGBT causes in Macedonia, eight
- 14:39Speaker 1: point three million dollars for equity and inclusion education in Nepaul.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I could go all night and many of my colleagues
- 14:57Speaker 1: are upset. They're really mad. Ms Hew, I think we
- 15:00Speaker 1: all to give him a medal. All he's doing is
- 15:05Speaker 1: what President Trump said he was going to do. President
- 15:07Speaker 1: Trump said he's going to audit to spend h So
- 15:11Speaker 1: Trump goes and hires Musk a game with the top
- 15:15Speaker 1: top secret security clearance. Nobody can quibble with his intelligence.
- 15:21Speaker 1: You know, the guys as smart as Einstein's cousin. He's
- 15:27Speaker 1: a very successful businessman, some says the richest guy in
- 15:30Speaker 1: the world. And he's doing the auditing, and man, he's
- 15:34Speaker 1: finding a lot of stuff. I call it a spending porn.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Now I'm not saying everything that USAID does is wasted,
- 15:45Speaker 1: but I'm saying a lot of it is. Handle of
- 15:48Speaker 1: a lot of it is. And we ought to be
- 15:51Speaker 1: on the flour this United States Senate thanking mister Musk,
- 15:56Speaker 1: and we ought to be asking him to go through
- 15:58Speaker 1: every agency and look at everybody's budget, everybody's budget. That's
- 16:07Speaker 1: what the American people want. They don't want to talk
- 16:10Speaker 1: about process, they don't want to continue with the Washington way.
- 16:20Speaker 1: They want to save some money. And let me tell
- 16:23Speaker 1: you what's really going on here too, mister President. For
- 16:27Speaker 1: four years under President Biden and for what eight years
- 16:33Speaker 1: under President Obama, and I respect both of them. I
- 16:37Speaker 1: don't hate anybody. I don't. When I say my present night,
- 16:41Speaker 1: one of the things I ask God, God, don't let
- 16:44Speaker 1: me hate, because it's hard in Washington. Don't let me hate.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I have all the respect in the world for President
- 16:50Speaker 1: Biden and Prison Obama. Tough job, but between them, they
- 16:54Speaker 1: spent twelve years in Washington, and presidents set the tone.
- 17:00Speaker 1: They control the questions that are asked. And here's the
- 17:04Speaker 1: question that President Obama and President Biden ask for eight years,
- 17:08Speaker 1: I heard it every for twelve years, I heard it
- 17:11Speaker 1: every single day. Who needs to pay more in taxes?
- 17:15Speaker 1: Is it you? Is it you? Who needs to pay
- 17:17Speaker 1: more in taxes? We need more money? Who needs to
- 17:21Speaker 1: pony up more? That was the issue. But that's not
- 17:26Speaker 1: the issue today. We have a new president. You know
- 17:31Speaker 1: what the issue is today? What the hell happened all
- 17:35Speaker 1: the money? What the hell happened all the money? And
- 17:41Speaker 1: that's what mister Musk is finding out. That's all this
- 17:44Speaker 1: is about. And I'm just I'm just shocked that my
- 17:52Speaker 1: colleagues have decided that this is a hell they're going
- 17:56Speaker 1: to die on. How can you look the American people
- 18:01Speaker 1: in the eye and support this kind of waste, support
- 18:07Speaker 1: this kind of spending. Point, I mean, the election, to me,
- 18:13Speaker 1: made at least one thing clear that the American people
- 18:18Speaker 1: are sick and tired of people in Washington denying reality.
- 18:28Speaker 1: The last administration tried to convince us that we were
- 18:31Speaker 1: living in a crime free world where inflation was temporary
- 18:35Speaker 1: and the border was secure and the American people didn't
- 18:39Speaker 1: bite you know why, because it wasn't true. And the administration,
- 18:48Speaker 1: our last administration tried to argue that bid noomics was
- 18:52Speaker 1: making our lives better. But the American people knew differently.
- 18:58Speaker 1: They understood idonomics to mean I get this to spend
- 19:03Speaker 1: more to live worse, and they voted. Now. I mean,
- 19:10Speaker 1: the American people were poorer under the last administration, but
- 19:13Speaker 1: they didn't become stupid that they could see that the
- 19:18Speaker 1: government was creating a problem. I'm not trying to fix it.
- 19:23Speaker 1: And they noticed the national debt to put up that
- 19:26Speaker 1: first chart for me. You know what our national debt is,
- 19:32Speaker 1: mister president, of thirty six trillion dollars, not million, not billion,
- 19:40Speaker 1: thirty six trillion dollars. It takes my breath away. Hes
- 19:45Speaker 1: it's ever been over one hundred percent of our gross
- 19:48Speaker 1: domestic product. Our debts growing faster than our economy. And
- 19:55Speaker 1: we toss around these numbers A trillion, a billion, a million,
- 19:59Speaker 1: a squillion like it's nothing. I want to trying to
- 20:02Speaker 1: put this in context. If I started counting right now,
- 20:09Speaker 1: and I counted one numeral, if you will, per second, one, two, three, four, five,
- 20:23Speaker 1: six seven, And I kept counting all day and all night.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I didn't sleep. I counted between bites of oatmeal at breakfast.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I just counted continually one numeral per second, it would
- 20:44Speaker 1: take me thirty two years to count to one billion,
- 20:51Speaker 1: thirty two years to count to one billion, it would
- 20:53Speaker 1: be two thousand and fifty seven. I'd be dead as
- 20:57Speaker 1: Woodrow Wilson. I wouldn't win that long. And that's just
- 21:02Speaker 1: a billion. Our get's thirty six trillion dollars. You know
- 21:07Speaker 1: how long it would take me to count to a trillion,
- 21:12Speaker 1: thirty one thousand years. If I counted on one numeral
- 21:16Speaker 1: per second about its oldest Chuck Grassey, thirty one thousand years,
- 21:24Speaker 1: It would take me one million years to count to
- 21:29Speaker 1: thirty six trillion. Those are the kind of numbers we're
- 21:33Speaker 1: talking about, and the American people understand it. Since two
- 21:39Speaker 1: thousand and nineteen, America's population has grown two percent. We're
- 21:47Speaker 1: not having babies two percent, and that's after massive integration immigration.
- 21:55Speaker 1: You know how much our budgets has grown fifty five percent?
- 22:00Speaker 1: Fifty five percent. Yeah, we've had inflation, but we had
- 22:05Speaker 1: had fifty five percent worth of inflation. That's how we
- 22:10Speaker 1: got to this thirty six shrillion dollars in debt. Put
- 22:14Speaker 1: up the next chart for him. Now, some of this
- 22:17Speaker 1: money we had to spend during the pandemic, and it
- 22:23Speaker 1: was a bipartisan effort during the pandemic, Republicans voted for
- 22:26Speaker 1: it and Democrats voted for it because we had no choice.
- 22:31Speaker 1: I was there. I saw it from the inside. We
- 22:33Speaker 1: came this close to losing the American economy. And you
- 22:37Speaker 1: know who helped a lot doesn't get enough credit. Jay
- 22:40Speaker 1: Powell at the Federal Reserve. I watched it. The whole
- 22:45Speaker 1: world wanted to go into a cave and retreat. Back
- 22:51Speaker 1: in the Great Recession, I remember all the other countries
- 22:53Speaker 1: in the world who looked to us. They may hate us,
- 22:56Speaker 1: but they know we're the greatest country in all of
- 22:58Speaker 1: human history. They looked to America. And you know what,
- 23:01Speaker 1: back in the Great Recession, all the other countries wanted
- 23:03Speaker 1: our They wanted treasures, treasury notes, treasury bonds. Not this time,
- 23:09Speaker 1: they were so scared. They didn't want treasures. They wanted dollars, cash, dollars.
- 23:16Speaker 1: So Jay Powell think the lord, and he goes over
- 23:19Speaker 1: to the Federal Reserve. He opens what's called a currency
- 23:22Speaker 1: swamp line, and he told every country you want dollars,
- 23:25Speaker 1: I'll tradure dollars for your current currency. And everything calmed down.
- 23:31Speaker 1: He didn't get any credit for that, but it was
- 23:34Speaker 1: a gutsy thing to do. But on top of that,
- 23:37Speaker 1: save the American economy that wasn't helping the American economy.
- 23:40Speaker 1: We had we had to keep the economy going. We
- 23:43Speaker 1: spent a lot of money. But then COVID ended, and
- 23:49Speaker 1: what we should have done was to go back to
- 23:51Speaker 1: free COVID spending, but we didn't do that. President Biden,
- 23:59Speaker 1: after the shutdowns in the coronavirus, the pandemic was over passed,
- 24:06Speaker 1: the American Rescue Plan, COVID was over He spent one
- 24:13Speaker 1: point nine trillion dollars. Never let a good crisis go
- 24:16Speaker 1: to waste. I didn't vote for it. Then he came
- 24:19Speaker 1: back and passed what he called an infrastructure bill. It
- 24:22Speaker 1: was really just a green new deal. I know what's
- 24:25Speaker 1: in that bill. That was another one point two treeion dollars.
- 24:31Speaker 1: And then he passed the Inflation Reduction Act. I didn't
- 24:36Speaker 1: vote for it, but that was another one point zero
- 24:39Speaker 1: treeion dollars. And then he passed the Chips Act. This
- 24:43Speaker 1: is really special, he said, big tech, the semiconductor companies
- 24:51Speaker 1: need our money, they need taxpayer money. They're not making
- 24:54Speaker 1: enough money. And he gave them money. He didn't. We
- 25:00Speaker 1: have hardware stores money. President Biden didn't give the healthcare
- 25:03Speaker 1: industry money. He said, I want to help big tech,
- 25:06Speaker 1: and boy, they sucked it up like a hoover. De Monks,
- 25:11Speaker 1: we spent two hundred and eighty billion dollars subsidizing big tech,
- 25:17Speaker 1: and you add it all up, and that's four point
- 25:19Speaker 1: three almost four point five trillion dollars. And that's how
- 25:23Speaker 1: we got thirty six trillion dollars in debt. And that's
- 25:26Speaker 1: why Donald Trump said, I'm going to look at every
- 25:29Speaker 1: single night on him or spending, and that's why he
- 25:33Speaker 1: gave the job to Elon Musk. And that's why Musk
- 25:36Speaker 1: is auditing these accounts. But nobody wants to talk about
- 25:42Speaker 1: what he's finding. Nobody wants to talk about the spending
- 25:48Speaker 1: porn except the American people. They get it, mister President,
- 25:56Speaker 1: they get it. And I hope mister Musk contind my
- 26:02Speaker 1: colleague and friend, we have a little discussion in banking today.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Senator Warnam makes a good point. He wants mister Musk
- 26:10Speaker 1: to come over and talk to Congress about how he's
- 26:12Speaker 1: doing this. I'm all for that. I am all for that.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I would love to have him come over and walk
- 26:20Speaker 1: us through what he's doing and how he's discovering all
- 26:25Speaker 1: this spending form. We need all the help we can
- 26:28Speaker 1: get on reducing our spending because we can't continue at
- 26:34Speaker 1: this pace. I just want to spend a few minutes
- 26:38Speaker 1: putting all this in perspective, Miss President. The world's not
- 26:43Speaker 1: going to spend office acts. As folks, every business that
- 26:49Speaker 1: I know of goes through an audit. Now we're being audited,
- 26:54Speaker 1: but we're being audited by not by the usual auditors,
- 26:59Speaker 1: but we're being auditude by a person appointed by the
- 27:01Speaker 1: President of the United States. And I bet you bet you.
- 27:06Speaker 1: When he's through and he's going to go go to
- 27:07Speaker 1: all these agencies, he's starting on an Apartment of Education next,
- 27:12Speaker 1: I think he'll end up finding that some of our
- 27:14Speaker 1: money is being well spent. But he's also going to
- 27:18Speaker 1: find that some of our money's being stolen and it's
- 27:22Speaker 1: being wasted. And that's an insult to every taxpayer in
- 27:28Speaker 1: this country. So I say I'm going to end like
- 27:31Speaker 1: im again. We ought to be given mister Musk a medal.
- 27:37Speaker 1: We ought to be thanking him. Maybe nobody else wants
- 27:41Speaker 1: to hear about the spending porn. But I can't wait
- 27:44Speaker 1: to read the book. I hope he finds all of
- 27:47Speaker 1: it and compiles it. I hope Marco Ruvel and new
- 27:50Speaker 1: Secretary of State takes USA I d and shakes them
- 27:56Speaker 1: by the shoulder and lifts up the good people there
- 28:00Speaker 1: and fires the bad people, the people that wasted taxpayer
- 28:04Speaker 1: money like this, giving money to terrorist organizations, giving money
- 28:08Speaker 1: to organizations to support Hamas. Hope he gets rid of
- 28:12Speaker 1: every single one of them. And I think if we
- 28:15Speaker 1: listen to mister Musk, we can save a lot of money.
- 28:18Speaker 1: And I hope he does come over and explain, explain
- 28:22Speaker 1: what it's doing. I want to talk about one other
- 28:24Speaker 1: subjects real quickly. I've talked about before. I'm not gonna
- 28:27Speaker 1: repeat it. This is India. This is China, which wants
- 28:35Speaker 1: to run the whole world. China's already trying to take
- 28:39Speaker 1: over the shipping lanes in the South China Sea. This
- 28:44Speaker 1: is the Chego Silence right down here. Years ago, the
- 28:51Speaker 1: Chego's islands were owned by France. France seeded the Chego
- 28:56Speaker 1: Silence to our friends and in Great Britain UK, and
- 29:03Speaker 1: a number of years ago the United Kingdom and America
- 29:06Speaker 1: got together and we built mostly with American dollars. By
- 29:10Speaker 1: the way, we built a military base in the Chegos Islens,
- 29:16Speaker 1: on one particular island called Diego Garcia, and it's a
- 29:20Speaker 1: really important military base. For one thing, it's very close
- 29:24Speaker 1: to the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean in China,
- 29:26Speaker 1: so we can watch them. For another thing, it's where
- 29:31Speaker 1: it's one of the only port bases where our nuclear
- 29:38Speaker 1: submarines can dock. Hugely important. Well, the United Nations got
- 29:48Speaker 1: mad at the United Kingdom. They said, Great Britain, you're
- 29:55Speaker 1: bad people. You used to be colonialists. You acquired other countries,
- 30:04Speaker 1: sometimes freely, sometimes by force. Every country I know of
- 30:09Speaker 1: in the world of any strength has done. That doesn't
- 30:12Speaker 1: mean we ought to be proud of it, but it's
- 30:14Speaker 1: part of our history. But the United Nations said, shame
- 30:18Speaker 1: on you, the UK, shame on you, bad, bad, bad bad.
- 30:22Speaker 1: You have to give back the Chego's Islands and the
- 30:26Speaker 1: military based there. And the UN doesn't have any jurisdiction
- 30:31Speaker 1: over the United Kingdom. But the UN said, not only
- 30:36Speaker 1: do you have to give it back, but you don't
- 30:38Speaker 1: give it back to the people of the Chego's Islands.
- 30:41Speaker 1: You give it back to another group of islands way
- 30:45Speaker 1: down here called Mauritius. Mauritius used to own the Chego's
- 30:53Speaker 1: Islands when France seated them to Great Britain. They were
- 30:57Speaker 1: run by Mauritius. But the people of the two island
- 31:01Speaker 1: groups of archipelagos, archipelagos that people don't have any affinity. Now,
- 31:08Speaker 1: what's Mauritius say. Of course will take it, but they
- 31:12Speaker 1: want to start charging the United States and the UK
- 31:19Speaker 1: nine billion pounds for a ninety nine year lease so
- 31:26Speaker 1: we can ease our own military base. All because the
- 31:30Speaker 1: Prime Minister of the United Kingdom feels guilty because somebody
- 31:36Speaker 1: some tofu eating wokarate at the United Nations says they're
- 31:43Speaker 1: bad people, but bad, bad, bad colonists. Well, and the
- 31:50Speaker 1: Prime Minister of the of the United Kingdom he's going
- 31:55Speaker 1: along with it, but he says, I'm negotiating with Mauritius
- 31:59Speaker 1: and the people of the leader of Mauritius just issued
- 32:03Speaker 1: to press. He said, yeah, he's negotiating, he's increased the
- 32:06Speaker 1: price and he's short in the leash. Now you know
- 32:10Speaker 1: who's loving all of this, China, Because China has a
- 32:14Speaker 1: close relationship with Mauritius. And you know what's gonna get
- 32:19Speaker 1: a lot closer. This is insane. This is so deep stupid.
- 32:28Speaker 1: This is boned deep down to the mari stupid because
- 32:33Speaker 1: the United Nations wants the United Kingdom to feel guilty.
- 32:37Speaker 1: They want to give our military base and their military
- 32:41Speaker 1: base to Mauritius. Now, the Prime Minister of the United
- 32:47Speaker 1: Kingdom can stop this. And Marco Rubio, our new Secretary
- 32:52Speaker 1: of State, is against it, and I haven't talked to
- 32:55Speaker 1: him directly, but I think President of Trump is against it.
- 33:00Speaker 1: The United Kingdom is our friend. I went to school
- 33:02Speaker 1: there for a while. I love him and I want
- 33:04Speaker 1: to see the Prime Minister do well. But he needs
- 33:08Speaker 1: to put down the bomb. He needs to put down
- 33:13Speaker 1: the bomb. This makes absolutely no sense and it's going
- 33:19Speaker 1: to be a big part of his legacy if he
- 33:22Speaker 1: gives away this, this island and our military base to
- 33:27Speaker 1: in effect what will eventually be China. So I would
- 33:31Speaker 1: say to the Prime Minister tonight, I don't mean any disrespect.
- 33:34Speaker 1: I want to say this respectfully. I shouldn't have said
- 33:38Speaker 1: the bomb part. I take it back, please, mister Prime Minister,
- 33:42Speaker 1: don't do this. Don't do this. We'll stand with you
- 33:48Speaker 1: and telling the United Nations who's upset with you to
- 33:52Speaker 1: go fill out of Hurt Feelings Report because we're not
- 33:55Speaker 1: doing it. We'll stand with you. Please say no, don't
- 33:59Speaker 1: give this. Don't give our military base away. It's going
- 34:02Speaker 1: to really hurt the relationship between the United States of
- 34:05Speaker 1: American United Kingdom. I know Donald Trump pretty well, I
- 34:09Speaker 1: know Marco Rubio pretty well. They'll forgive, but they'll never
- 34:16Speaker 1: ever forget. Don't do it, mister Prime. I've taken too
- 34:19Speaker 1: much time. I'm sorry. I yield to my colleague from
- 34:23Speaker 1: my Virginia.
- 34:26Speaker 3: It's the president, yes, sir, the senator from Virginia, it's
- 34:32Speaker 3: the President.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Mo
