- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. Last time, we heard
- 0:09how baby Moses was saved and grew up in Pharaoh's
- 0:12palace, even though he was born during a dangerous
- 0:16time for the Israelites. Today, we'll see what
- 0:21happened as Moses grew older, how God prepared
- 0:25him for something great, even when things didn't
- 0:28go as Moses expected. Are you ready? Let's begin.
- 0:43Moses was raised as a prince in the palace of
- 0:47Egypt. He wore fine clothes, ate rich food, and
- 0:52learned the ways of the Egyptians. But deep inside,
- 0:57he always knew he was different. He knew he was
- 1:00an Israelite, one of the people who were forced
- 1:03to work as slaves. As Moses grew, he began to
- 1:08notice the suffering around him. He saw how unfairly
- 1:13his people were treated. One day, when he was
- 1:17a grown man, he saw an Egyptian hurting an Israelite.
- 1:21Moses became angry and did something wrong. he
- 1:26killed the Egyptian man. When Pharaoh found out,
- 1:30Moses had to run away. He left behind his life
- 1:34in the palace and escaped into the desert. Moses
- 1:38ended up in a place called Midian. There, he
- 1:42helped some shepherd girls and was invited to
- 1:45stay with their family. He married one of the
- 1:48daughters and became a shepherd himself. Instead
- 1:52of golden halls, Moses now walked through quiet
- 1:56fields. He took care of sheep every day. It may
- 2:01have seemed like a simple life, but during those
- 2:05years, God was preparing for something big. One
- 2:09day, while watching his sheep near a mountain,
- 2:12Moses noticed something strange. A bush was on
- 2:16fire, but it wasn't burning up. Moses went closer.
- 2:22And there he heard God speak. God told Moses
- 2:26he had seen his people suffering in Egypt, and
- 2:29he wanted Moses to go back and lead them out
- 2:33of slavery. Moses didn't think he was ready.
- 2:37He even told God, I'm not good with words. But
- 2:43God reminded him, I will be with you. Then Moses
- 2:49said to God, If I come to the people of Israel
- 2:54and say to them, The God of your fathers has
- 2:57sent me to you, and they ask me, What is his
- 3:01name? What shall I say to them? God said to Moses,
- 3:07I am who I am. God had been preparing all along,
- 3:12from the palace to the desert, so that when the
- 3:15time was right, Moses could step into the role
- 3:19God made just for him. And God does that for
- 3:23us too. He can use all the parts of our story,
- 3:27the good and the hard, to get us ready for something
- 3:31bigger than we imagined. What a fascinating story.
- 3:39Let's think of some things together. Have you
- 3:44ever felt unsure of yourself, like Moses did?
- 3:50Can you think of a time when something hard helped
- 3:53you grow? What do you think God might be preparing
- 3:58you for right now? Have you ever felt like you
- 4:03messed up or had to start over? Moses did too.
- 4:08But God didn't give up on him. Even when we make
- 4:12mistakes, God can still use us for something
- 4:15good. Remember, No matter where you are or how
- 4:20small you feel, God sees you, and he has a good
- 4:24plan for your life. Thanks for joining me today.
- 4:29Next time, we'll hear about Moses' big mission,
- 4:33going back to Egypt to speak to Pharaoh. Will
- 4:37Pharaoh listen? And how will God show his mighty
- 4:41power to rescue his people? Don't miss it! Until
- 4:46next time, Remember, you are wonderfully made,
- 4:50and God is with you every step of the way. Bye
- 4:55for now.
