- 0:06Welcome back to 2 Girls, 1 TBR, your chaotic book besties here
- 0:10to wreck your reading list. 1 Morley Gray man at a time.
- 0:14I'm Rebecca and the one who buys books that she's running out of
- 0:19time to read. And I'm living like I have 9
- 0:22lives. Oh, but you can find me at
- 0:25Azrilla Reads on Instagram. But today we are officially
- 0:29opening the gates to our 2026 Mother's Day Coven Gift Guide.
- 0:35Yeah, I'm Heather. If you are looking for someone
- 0:38who lives for a dark aesthetic and a book that will absolutely
- 0:42record you, found her. Find me at Kindle me reading on
- 0:46Instagram. And today isn't just about
- 0:50flowers and brunch, OK? It's about honoring the coven
- 0:53Queens who keep the magic alive. We have hand selected 12 authors
- 0:59and 12 small businesses to curate the ultimate Treat Your
- 1:04Shell experience. Whether you're a mom, a dog mom,
- 1:08a plant mom, or just the matriarch of your local book
- 1:11club, this guide is for you. So how are you doing today?
- 1:19Good. It's been kind of a slow Monday.
- 1:22I made my husband go to the grocery store so I didn't have
- 1:26to so. What are you reading right now?
- 1:30I'm still again. I'm still here.
- 1:34I know. Soon it'll change.
- 1:35Look at this puppy. Oh, look at those annotations.
- 1:41What book is that? I got to move myself.
- 1:44Oh, very nice, that's book 2. Wrath of Starlight book 2, so
- 1:51car physical copy. I was a physical copy winner for
- 1:55book 2, so I've already read it. Look at all my annotations.
- 2:00That is a lot of annotations. I love it.
- 2:02This is a epic fantasy, so there are a lot of clues and a lot of
- 2:08like character building and leading up to people and things
- 2:14happening and stuff. So I trying I have to go back
- 2:18through breakfast our light and do this too.
- 2:20Yeah, this is 700 pages. And I gave her a little feedback
- 2:25since I was a early ARC reader and she's putting some more
- 2:29revisions in. She's like, this thing is going
- 2:31to be so long. I'm like, yes, quality over
- 2:35quantity, OK. Well, she said, it's going to be
- 2:37what, a nine book series? She said.
- 2:40It's a trilogy. Trilogy's very nice.
- 2:44Very nice, yeah. And that's not the real.
- 2:46This is not the real cover. This is just like a placement
- 2:49cover. She did come out with her cover
- 2:52on Instagram where she drew the characters and the setting and
- 2:58stuff like that. And we go under the surface so
- 3:02it's very it's like a darker compared to like when they're on
- 3:06the surface with the sun and things like that.
- 3:08So now we're in the dark, so those.
- 3:12I have breath of Starlight. I ordered the the special
- 3:17edition. Yeah, the special edition one,
- 3:19but it doesn't come. I won't get that until the end
- 3:23of May I believe, is what she said.
- 3:25So I'm excited for that. So then I can read the story.
- 3:29But that because I knew that one because didn't the the rash he
- 3:33would come up every 20 years to the surface because I remember
- 3:36her saying that. So OK, so that takes place on
- 3:39the surface. And this next book we're going
- 3:41under. Oh yeah, I like it.
- 3:43And that comes out in July, I believe.
- 3:46Yes, she's. Summer she's.
- 3:48She wanted these out quick. Yeah, so.
- 3:52And I think she has like book 3 in the works or it's like almost
- 3:56done. But she's been sitting on that
- 3:59on this story for years, like since she was a child in the
- 4:04sense like she's had these characters in her head for a
- 4:07very long time, has established a lore over years of, you know,
- 4:12writing out her characters and stuff.
- 4:15So you could tell it's very well done, like character building,
- 4:21plot, lore, all the stuff kind of comes together and you could
- 4:26tell she spent a lot of time on it.
- 4:28And if you, when we have her back on the podcast, it'll be
- 4:32really fun once we've all read the books and stuff to be like,
- 4:37you know, how did this come about and what was your
- 4:40inspirations for this? Because I'd love to know if
- 4:43she's from Russia, I wanna say. OK.
- 4:49And she came over with her mom. I don't know if her dad came
- 4:53over. I think her mom and her grandma,
- 4:56and now she was in Georgia. I don't think that's where she
- 5:01came to originally from Russia, but I think she was young, young
- 5:05though, like school age. And she said she has like little
- 5:10notebooks from that time of her characters, from like these
- 5:14stories. Isn't that wild?
- 5:16Because she doesn't have any accent or anything, so she must
- 5:19have been Little Little when she came here.
- 5:21Yeah. Yeah, Well, I guess she would
- 5:24have. She has more of an American
- 5:26accent. Right, because.
- 5:27We do have an accent. I have so very good.
- 5:30I would have to think about that.
- 5:31Yeah, she speaks English very well and like, doesn't have an
- 5:35accent to her English language when she speaks it, Yeah.
- 5:40Oh, that'll be neat. I didn't know that.
- 5:41That's neat. Yeah.
- 5:43So there's that. Maybe she'll be able to show us
- 5:45some of her stuff. Like I know she's so fun.
- 5:48She's fun. Some of her videos that she's
- 5:51been doing, she's the clips that she's been putting up on
- 5:54Instagram has cracked my heart and size.
- 5:57Yeah, that's good. She's funny, but like, again, I,
- 6:01I told you that's what I'm I'm still on this.
- 6:03I didn't get a chance to read last night because we've
- 6:06recorded back-to-back here 2 days in a row.
- 6:09So I didn't get a chance because when I I was tired because I had
- 6:14been up from 7:00 in the morning and by the time we went to bed
- 6:17it was midnight and I'm old and I get tired.
- 6:21It's OK when I get tired like that I start skimming.
- 6:24In some books you just can't skim.
- 6:28Yeah. And I or, or I'll keep reading
- 6:30the the same part over and over again, or I will have that I'll
- 6:36jerk with the book. You know what I'm talking about
- 6:38because I'll start falling asleep and then the book almost
- 6:41falls and hits me in the face. Or you get hit, yeah.
- 6:44Yeah, most likely, yes. Well, I I have with my new
- 6:48phone, I have one of those little pop lock things, you
- 6:51know, so it goes between my fingers, but I will to do that
- 6:55also. But I haven't hit myself in the
- 6:57face because my I'm holding it better.
- 7:00That's good. But hopefully, I'm hoping this
- 7:03week to have it done. My Kindle color I need to get a
- 7:07like pretty you need to get a case yeah, I need to get a case
- 7:11for it and a pop socket or something because mine
- 7:15definitely less with 3D like this and you go.
- 7:19Oh yeah, because they're a pop socket.
- 7:21I called it a pop Locket. What was a pop Locket?
- 7:23What did you get? I thought you called it.
- 7:24Maybe that's a? Is it a pop socket or is it a
- 7:28pop Locket? What do we call them?
- 7:30So there's the company called Pop Socket.
- 7:33They were like the original company to make them.
- 7:36Now there's a bunch of, you know, knock off.
- 7:40Oh, OK. 1. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:43So yeah. The one I have is on my phone,
- 7:47'cause my phone has like these flowers.
- 7:49I can't my phones I'm looking at it, but it has these real pretty
- 7:52flowers and they have glitter and there's like little sparkly
- 7:55things. And then my that thing I hold
- 7:58the pop socket thing. It's it's like it has like
- 8:02Chrome and it has like this real filigree looking stuff on it.
- 8:05It's pretty. I like it because this this
- 8:09phone, I had to put those doohickeys the the screen
- 8:14protector on the screen. But because of how this one is,
- 8:17it has four cameras on the back of it.
- 8:20I have the screen protectors on it too.
- 8:22I don't know you could do that. Yes, they make them now.
- 8:25And I was like, and my husband actually cracked his already,
- 8:29not his phone, just the protector on the cameras in the
- 8:32back. And I said to him, I said, how
- 8:35did you do it? But it it, it must have just
- 8:38something hit that corner in it. I cracked it, but I had another
- 8:41set and I fix it. I said thank God you had that on
- 8:44there. Yeah.
- 8:46Those are expensive. Now I.
- 8:47Remember, these are 13. Hundred a piece.
- 8:50I know. Yeah, they weren't.
- 8:52I mean, they were expensive back in the day, in the hundreds, but
- 8:55yeah, now they're like a laptop. Absolutely, absolutely.
- 9:00It's just nuts. But Oh no, I put screen
- 9:02protectors on everything. Yeah, everything we have, if it
- 9:06if it's an electronic and it has one of those screens, they all
- 9:09have those screens on them. I don't put things to chance
- 9:12since my son broke my iPad many years ago and cracked the whole
- 9:18screen. It's like, but I don't know if
- 9:20that would have saved it because I think he stepped on it.
- 9:25That makes sense. He was.
- 9:26A boy that was. That was the last iPad I had.
- 9:30After that I've gone too. I have my big Samsung Galaxy
- 9:34tablet and I prefer it. Yeah.
- 9:35Over Apple I I prefer Android over Apple.
- 9:39See, I'm the opposite. I don't know.
- 9:41I think Apple's very user friendly and all connects to
- 9:45each other. You don't have, I don't know,
- 9:47you have like software people to help and stuff like that.
- 9:52Well, all my Android stuff, because everything's Samsung
- 9:54that I have, they all interconnect and everything.
- 9:57That's good, but I just, I didn't like the thing with Apple
- 10:01is it seemed like they slowed their operating systems down.
- 10:05It always felt like and then after a while then they don't
- 10:08even do anything with it. Android, it seems they go a lot
- 10:12longer. It's a lot longer that they
- 10:14support those kind of things. So that's why I.
- 10:19Yeah. Stuck with Samsung but I have
- 10:21had iPhones but I just I prefer but this one here that I have
- 10:25now is the S26 ultra. It's the flagship of Samsung.
- 10:30Oh. That's what they told me.
- 10:32Oh, and I and I have one of those little I have to go boop
- 10:35like this and it has a stylus that comes out with it.
- 10:39Oh, you got the fancy one. The fancy one.
- 10:42Isn't it Samsung who has the the the one that?
- 10:47Yeah, they have the flippy ones and all that stuff too.
- 10:50It looks like a like a cosmetic case is what they look like.
- 10:53But it's tough. I'm just afraid.
- 10:57I'm afraid with those. When I was young, I don't need
- 11:00another one, but they were cool back in the day, OK.
- 11:03I think right, it would protect the screen more, but some of
- 11:06them, I think one opens this way and then there's one that opens
- 11:12like a like a cosmetic case. OK, but they're different.
- 11:16But no, mine's just mine's the real big screen.
- 11:19I'm old. I need a big screen.
- 11:21Yeah, but this one here, I I really, I really so far, I like
- 11:26it. It's it's a big upgrade going
- 11:28from something from 7 years ago to this.
- 11:31Yes, technology. Changes.
- 11:33Yeah, yeah, I mean everything is changing really fast now, like I
- 11:38know yeah, new car with navigation and like the screens
- 11:42and stuff until I had a baby in 2020 and the prices were cheap.
- 11:48Otherwise I would have like a 2000 early 2000 Honda Civic that
- 11:52was falling apart that had ACD player.
- 11:56OK. And like nothing else like
- 12:00electric air. Like I guess I had electric
- 12:03windows and air conditioning. Like that's like the the top
- 12:06line back then. Now, you know, we have like all
- 12:10the heat seaters and like, I've never owned anything like that.
- 12:13So yeah, like I was always the less like people that had all
- 12:18that stuff. Oh.
- 12:19Yeah. Well, now, now ours is our
- 12:21vehicle's a 2024. We have a Buick in it.
- 12:25You plug it in or it it does Bluetooth there and we have
- 12:28Android Auto or you can have the Apple Play or whatever,
- 12:31whichever ones they are. Yeah, like all that you don't
- 12:33have, you don't have to worry about having navigation in your,
- 12:36your car anymore or anything. You know, it's, you have it with
- 12:40your phone because you have Google Maps or whatever and it
- 12:43just plays it. But I added this new one.
- 12:46It's not Google Maps, but it's something with Google.
- 12:51And then you can be like a little you're like a little icon
- 12:54thing and you can have it that it sounds like a villain, a
- 12:58super villain giving you directions, different
- 13:01celebrities do voices for your navigation it, but you can have
- 13:06it that you're if you're you make yourself visible.
- 13:10People can see you when you're out on the road to but I didn't
- 13:13want myself visible. But I can see like all kinds of
- 13:15people that use it. And they're like little icons in
- 13:18there, these little cartoons and you can see them all over the
- 13:20highway driving and it's hilarious.
- 13:23Oh my goodness. But I picked this.
- 13:25I think I picked the Super villain, you know, because he
- 13:28became a super villain because his ice cream fell off a cone
- 13:32it. Was.
- 13:33It's not like, and it's how it talks to you and but like I
- 13:37said, and there's all different. You have SpongeBob, you can have
- 13:39all kinds of stuff. It's your kids might like that.
- 13:41My gosh. I have to remember what After
- 13:45we're done here, I'll look and I'll tell you what the app is.
- 13:47It's hilarious. But now before we get into the
- 13:50actual guide, please go remember to go and check over on our
- 13:56Instagram and our highlights under our sip section.
- 13:59The collection this week is the Midnight Garden.
- 14:04There's two different drinks. There's the Midnight Bloom,
- 14:07which is the alcoholic one and the other one for your mocktail
- 14:12is the Lunar Nectar. So go and check those out and
- 14:20and make them for us because I want to see somebody make one of
- 14:23these. Heather, you need to make one of
- 14:25these. I know I was thinking today, you
- 14:29know, I was thinking about buying plants for in here and I
- 14:33was thinking of buying a bar cart with my plants today.
- 14:39And I was like, you know, maybe one day it would be great if we
- 14:43got sponsored by somebody to pay for all that stuff.
- 14:46But like, I have some stuff that I I could, but it's expensive.
- 14:51And I was thinking like, maybe after my car payment goes away,
- 14:55I could start kind of dabbling in that hobby.
- 14:59That would be a fun hobby. Of making mixed drinks, so that
- 15:04would be really fun and this was here.
- 15:06I was like, a lot of these things I've never even heard of.
- 15:10Like what they have is the base and stuff like that.
- 15:12And I'm like BlackBerry Nectar. Where do you buy that?
- 15:18I. Don't know, I'm assuming at the
- 15:21liquor store. I guess, yeah, you.
- 15:24Have to look the next time I go. Yeah, the liquor stores are
- 15:28weird. Wherever you live, they aren't
- 15:32all the same, so. You see here in Kentucky, I know
- 15:35if we go like to total wine and more hint, hint.
- 15:39Oh, that's. Sponsorous that.
- 15:41Would be awesome, I love that place.
- 15:44The one they have, well, they have several, but the one I love
- 15:47to go to, it's huge. It's massive inside.
- 15:50And they have everything. You have beer, you have, you
- 15:54know, your, your imports, you have wine, you have whiskey.
- 15:57Of course, we're in Kentucky. So you have bourbon, you know,
- 16:00all that kind of stuff. But it's massive inside.
- 16:03It's a giant one. I love it because it's right
- 16:05next to Barnes and Noble and on the other side of it, Bath and
- 16:12Body, it's like my, it's like a trifecta of wonderfulness.
- 16:16So I like to go to that. So the, it's, I think it's
- 16:19called the Shops of the Paddock or something like that is what
- 16:22it's called in here. And it's really nice.
- 16:27But somebody make these and of course, remember edible glitter.
- 16:31I know I was thinking again today about Velvet Hammer and I
- 16:36was like, should I do that? I'm like, I'll ask for it for my
- 16:39birthday. So I was thinking about that.
- 16:42So I'm like, I can't, you know, just keep dropping money on
- 16:44books and bookish things like slow it down so.
- 16:50Sometimes we have to do this. This is why you pre-order books.
- 16:54It's like yeah when they arrive it's like I didn't spend any
- 16:58money, I spent that a while ago. Even though technically you
- 17:01really don't. They actually charge you when
- 17:03they ship them. Yeah, Amazon does, yeah.
- 17:06Amazon. Amazon.
- 17:07Yes, I have a book coming tomorrow.
- 17:10It's the oh, what is it? It's the 5th book in the Briar
- 17:16series. They're, you know, bonded by
- 17:18the. OK, I don't.
- 17:21Remember the name of it. I thought it's coming about on
- 17:25Audible sale, so I'll read those with you.
- 17:29Well, I'll probably go through them really fast, but so do you
- 17:35And Cassandra always talk about that series, and I've seen it
- 17:38elsewhere too. Like it's very like constantly
- 17:42talked about. So I'm like all right, I'll
- 17:44break down and I'll buy the series.
- 17:45So when they were like 3 bucks apiece, I'm like, OK, all right,
- 17:49we got. Well, I know this is book 5 now.
- 17:51Make sure you get the prequel too.
- 17:54There's a little or it's like a little prequel novella, OK.
- 17:59And it's probably a little thin. KU OK Kindle Unlimited probably
- 18:05those are quicker to read than it's like a novella.
- 18:10Little on audible and they're like 4 hours long.
- 18:15It's little. OK, I can read that.
- 18:16This is it. That's now the novella does not
- 18:20have the sprayed edges, but now books, books one through 4,
- 18:27those are all reprints and we all have that printed edges.
- 18:33But she's the, because it's Elizabeth Helen, the two
- 18:36sisters, they said it's getting very hard to find the sprayed
- 18:41edges. And now the book that's coming
- 18:44out tomorrow is brand new. It's not one of the reprints.
- 18:50So it's, you know, it's a new book.
- 18:53So that comes out tomorrow. Then in July 1 comes out and
- 18:58then I believe maybe October I think is the final book comes
- 19:02out and I think that will be a completed series.
- 19:06OK, so I have that coming. I think that's the only one I
- 19:12have pre-ordered for April. I don't think I have anything
- 19:16coming right now in May, but I do know I have in August.
- 19:20I have bedeviled coming because yeah, I have to have them in
- 19:25them. I.
- 19:26Pre-order that. Who has an audio book for that?
- 19:30But I'd like to do the audio book.
- 19:32I'll just see if I I think I pre-ordered that.
- 19:35I pre-ordered a whole bunch of books like at the beginning of
- 19:38the year. So I have I have to pre-order
- 19:42several of them because I have I have them and I want to get the
- 19:47Chrissa Broadbent's other book there.
- 19:49The first book in the the last duology, I can't remember the
- 19:53name of it. It's purple.
- 19:54It's that one. I have to pre-order that one.
- 19:57I have to best Maura. That one I pray won't be able to
- 20:02pre-order because she or she might have it pre-order.
- 20:05I don't know she'll have it that you can do that.
- 20:07But I want to get that Demonica when it comes out.
- 20:11I want to get that one I have. I mean, I have a list, but I
- 20:14told you to get that app even though again, they don't sponsor
- 20:18us, but they could is bookmarked and it's bookmark and then it's
- 20:22apostrophe D and it's a little app.
- 20:25And you put in your favorite authors and it tells you when
- 20:28their next book is coming out. And it does a countdown days,
- 20:31which I thought is pretty nice. That's always the hard part is
- 20:35when you love so many books and you love so many authors, it's
- 20:39hard to keep track of everybody. And when everybody's books are
- 20:44coming out online and that does that does help, I have to say.
- 20:47Yeah. Especially if you pre-order
- 20:49like, you know, oh, pre-order that so.
- 20:54Now also now when everybody know as we're going to be going
- 20:57through all the different authors and all the small
- 20:58businesses we are going on, when you get to hear this, you can go
- 21:03to our Instagram. We do have carousels of the
- 21:08authors and a carousel of the small business.
- 21:13So you can actually get to see stuff.
- 21:15The small business ones, you can actually see some of their
- 21:18products and things like that and which is pretty neat.
- 21:21And of course, under the author ones, you can actually see a
- 21:24picture of them and the book that they currently have out.
- 21:29Now the first, the first author we're going to talk about
- 21:31because we're we did 12:00 and 12:00 because this is our
- 21:34special guide. Is this TL Scheffler?
- 21:38Is that how we pronounce her last name?
- 21:40Sure. All right, She has a book called
- 21:43The Stardust Duke that is out, and it's a Cinderella retelling,
- 21:48blending whimsical magic with dark spice and horror.
- 21:53Oh, very dark Cinderella. OK.
- 21:56That looks really good. Yeah, and then AG Harris has.
- 22:03Oh, never mind. I was thinking her next book.
- 22:07No, this is her book. Yeah.
- 22:08Silent Kingdoms of Silent Sorrows.
- 22:13That is a dark fantasy with arranged marriage, faded mates
- 22:17and fire. Daddy's OK, Daddy.
- 22:21'S I know there's. I know it's like Vampire Fay.
- 22:25I have not started it yet but it has great art so of course I
- 22:29bought it. Oh, that.
- 22:32Awesome. Yeah.
- 22:33Awesome map in it. And then she has just, I know
- 22:38yours is such a character, but mine, but mine's a black and
- 22:41white. But look at how beautiful her
- 22:42art was. And AG does all this art
- 22:46herself. She's she's an artist.
- 22:50She will actually be hopefully coming on the podcast in June.
- 22:55That's our that's what her and I were talking actually today.
- 22:59So so. We have time to read.
- 23:03Yeah, Yes. And then we'll pester her about
- 23:05book too. Oh, absolutely.
- 23:08Oh, absolutely. Now the the next one we're going
- 23:11to talk about we we did talk about her a little bit here just
- 23:14a little bit ago is Ravenna Veil and she does the breath of
- 23:18Starlight and that book features disability representation.
- 23:24She does all the artwork in her book, all her character art and
- 23:29her, you know. Would you say it's a touch her
- 23:31and die vibes? Yeah, and both ways.
- 23:36And she just has very unique tropes.
- 23:41Like they're a mixture of different tropes.
- 23:44I feel like she doesn't, like, sit in the category when we talk
- 23:48the tropes that we're used to, right, like forced proximities
- 23:51and stuff. Like she it's very unique.
- 23:58Yeah, like a blend of tropes, but it's lyrical storytelling.
- 24:05So it does sound kind of like Lord of the Rings when you read
- 24:08that. And it's, what else was I going
- 24:12to say, brain part? Oh, it's epic fantasy.
- 24:18So it is going to be like Lord of the Rings where you have a
- 24:21lot of different character arcs kind of going on and branching
- 24:27out. The cast in the first book is
- 24:29actually pretty small though, maybe like 4 main characters or
- 24:33so. There's a a horse that has 6
- 24:37legs named Astinos and he's really sweet to our FMC.
- 24:43Of course you know and. The horse doesn't.
- 24:46The horse doesn't do anything in that book like The Neverending
- 24:49Story, does it? No.
- 24:52No. Good to know.
- 24:53That's a broody horse, but he loves our FMC and he's a
- 24:58faithful seed. Yeah.
- 25:00Oh OK, well I like that a whole bunch.
- 25:02I can't wait to read it and again I have to wait till May.
- 25:05Oh I know, I'm sorry but the but and the side characters are
- 25:09going to fall in love with them. She does a really great job at
- 25:12character building, so grab that one.
- 25:16I cannot wait for that one like again.
- 25:17And I don't know if she has any copies of her special edition
- 25:23left or it's various. Ways after that, I think she has
- 25:29a few put away for giveaways and that'll be the only chance that
- 25:32you could get a special edition. So yeah.
- 25:37And if you go right now currently on our Lincoln bio,
- 25:42our link tree, you can go and you can actually click into her
- 25:46link tree and you can actually go there and you can order her
- 25:50books right directly from her, which is pretty neat.
- 25:53Now the next one we have, of course, is our lovely Stephanie
- 25:56Storm. She was on the podcast a few
- 25:59weeks ago. She has her book Legion of
- 26:02Pride. Now that has morally Gray
- 26:04characters and there's themes of revenge and forgiveness.
- 26:09It's now did you did? You read that one, Yeah.
- 26:12You read that one? It's very like Supernatural
- 26:16meets Lucifer. And what else?
- 26:19Oh, Dexter. Yeah, yeah.
- 26:22So we got like serial killers, FBI agents, supernatural stuff
- 26:28like not I wouldn't say sci-fi, maybe like paranormal,
- 26:34supernatural in a sense of like beings, but supernatural like
- 26:40Lucifer. So like demons and Angel kind of
- 26:43stuff going on? Yeah.
- 26:46So I it was really good. I love the ending and I'm very
- 26:52excited to see where she goes with this.
- 26:54But because that's a series, right?
- 26:56Yeah, it'll be a trilogy, I think, she said.
- 26:59Yeah. But right now she's taking a
- 27:02break from that to go into a new series.
- 27:06I know she's finishing her rule of the damn series or trilogy,
- 27:11and then she's going to be doing another one.
- 27:14Yeah, she's like getting busy. She's a busy girl and she's
- 27:18hilarious and she cracks muscle inside.
- 27:21She's a great. Her and I, we we talk often and
- 27:25she's very, she's very funny and I enjoy her a tremendous amount.
- 27:30She's going to, one of these days, come back on the podcast
- 27:33and join us because she's like, because I told Chelsea, Chelsea
- 27:37has to meet her and she has to. That's right.
- 27:39She's so bad because it was only us.
- 27:41Yeah. But yeah.
- 27:43So that's another good one. Go and check out that book as
- 27:46well. Mixed up is Ellie Sells.
- 27:51She has a series out well book one Kindred and survive.
- 27:57It's a vampire dark romance and dragon phoenix shifters.
- 28:02Expect blood bonds and faded mates.
- 28:05I did just get her e-book on that one that that was very
- 28:09intriguing to me. I can't wait to read that one.
- 28:12Now I can't remember, is that one the book that she writes
- 28:16just herself, or is it the one where she has a co-author?
- 28:19I'm pretty sure that's the one she writes herself.
- 28:21She does have one that we put on the guide actually that she Co
- 28:27writes with and that one's like survived in damned or something
- 28:33like that. And I think that one is a is it
- 28:36dystopian or sci-fi? I think it might be dystopian,
- 28:41maybe. Oh, it's yeah.
- 28:42It's survive from the ashes. That's.
- 28:45What that one's called. And that one's she's writing,
- 28:48that she co-authors it with B Stephens.
- 28:52Oh yeah. That's how I'm going to
- 28:54pronounce it. I apologize if that's incomes,
- 28:57but she will be coming on the podcast as well in June.
- 29:02So those are that's the second one that's coming.
- 29:05So everybody look forward to that.
- 29:09Then the next one that we have is Miss Heidi Adams.
- 29:13Oh, she's a. She is a sweet girl, and her
- 29:17book is Rose Moon, and she just actually did this past week a
- 29:21new cover for that. Yeah.
- 29:24And that one's emotional forbidden love.
- 29:27Yeah, and does it have mermaids or sirens?
- 29:30I think Stuff or stuff. Chelsea.
- 29:33Chelsea Reddit. Yeah, Chelsea, she, I think
- 29:37Chelsea got that as it was like in one of her book subscriptions
- 29:41and it was a book that she didn't, she didn't know about.
- 29:44And she said she's so thankful she got it because she said it's
- 29:46an amazing book. Yeah.
- 29:48Yeah. But yet, she'll be actually
- 29:52coming on here soon, Miss Heidi. Yeah.
- 29:58And then? Parker Gardner.
- 30:01Yes. Oh.
- 30:02Yeah, so she just sent us some books because she's coming on
- 30:05the podcast dates and Twine series that is going to be an
- 30:12enemies of lovers horse proximity rooted in Irish for
- 30:15folklore, dude. So cool.
- 30:18I know. And did you open up your magpie
- 30:20dude? I did open it because I put it
- 30:23back in. Oh, did you?
- 30:24I was like, I wanted to keep it pretty.
- 30:26Yeah. So I kept it in its little seal.
- 30:28I need to start this this week and yes.
- 30:33We got I'm going to read this one and you're going to read
- 30:37this one, but I I'm going to read this one, but I'm going to
- 30:39read this one before she comes. Oh yeah, Look at the character
- 30:42art with it. Wow, character art.
- 30:45So this is the Magpie and these are the lovers.
- 30:50Is this a tarot card? It looks like tarot cards.
- 30:52It does get that vibe. Yeah.
- 30:55So, yeah, this is a dark this one.
- 30:58What did she say this one was? Because the face entwined.
- 31:03I put that down there. Magpie is something with a
- 31:06mansion. And it is dark.
- 31:10I can't remember if this looked like a dark thriller or.
- 31:15But it doesn't. Sounds great.
- 31:18Good. Yeah.
- 31:19And it says a key, a choice, a darkness she cannot outrun.
- 31:25It's on the back of Magpie. OK.
- 31:27Oh yeah, dark contemporary fantasy with gothic elements
- 31:34shaped by my own experience with oppression and suicidal
- 31:37ideation. So relation right there.
- 31:41So I was like, yes, let's read this.
- 31:44I had bad postpartum depression, so it got scary for a while
- 31:48there. So I'm really interested to kind
- 31:51of see what element she brings into this.
- 31:54And then we'll talk about that for May mental Health Awareness.
- 31:57So I'm excited to have her on talk about stuff like that.
- 32:01That episode will be I believe it airs on the 7th of May.
- 32:06So it's the first week of May. So that'll be for the the mental
- 32:10health month since May, is that so?
- 32:13I'm super excited to meet her and meet her in person.
- 32:17I've talked with her, you know, of course, yeah, Instagram and
- 32:19that. But I'll be excited to talk with
- 32:21her. So we have those.
- 32:24So then the next one is Claire Brauer.
- 32:28Now you have read her books. Yeah, she has Ren.
- 32:33And how do we pronounce the second one?
- 32:36OK, I don't. Do you know me?
- 32:37I don't. I say this correctly.
- 32:40And she's told me how many times like I are greed for her.
- 32:43So OK, it's recchia. That to me is coming from my
- 32:50mind. So we're going with it.
- 32:52I think it's recchia. So yes, she has two books.
- 32:56Recchia the in the rising or something Rising.
- 33:01Rekia rising I think is what it's called.
- 33:04Her covers are beautiful. I love Oh they are.
- 33:07Her artwork that she gets done but Rekia is kind of like a
- 33:12prequel of a sister that is in Rin an Assassin's tale and Rin
- 33:20an Assassin's tale is magic base kind of for what is that bridge
- 33:29Kingdom. I think that's.
- 33:32Bridge Kingdom I What's her face?
- 33:35Danielle, Danielle, it's Jensen. It has.
- 33:38Like those elements of like the assassin and the sisterhood and
- 33:42corruption kind of stuff mixed with like magical elements and
- 33:47secrets portrayals. Yeah, very cool.
- 33:52I like. That.
- 33:54So I really love that book and then and then a sister and that
- 33:59is in the prequel that she just released in January and she's
- 34:03working on book 2. So when she comes on the podcast
- 34:07here, I think in fall, is she coming end of?
- 34:11No, I think she's, we were thinking June, but I don't know.
- 34:14I'm in the, I'm in the planning stages of the summer months.
- 34:17So we'll see. Some questions together about
- 34:20Book 2. Because I need to know some
- 34:22things we're going to know, I'm considering a.
- 34:25Spill Well, I've added I have those on my TBR list and stuff
- 34:31like that because you had recommended them and it sounded
- 34:35so good and I I love the cover of Ren with the assassin, the
- 34:39lady on so pretty. It's so pretty because, you
- 34:42know, adding your. Attention.
- 34:44I mean so simple, but I mean it's just like.
- 34:48And it's beautiful. Yeah, it is beautiful.
- 34:50You know, You know, because sometimes books that have people
- 34:53on them on the cover, it's kind of.
- 34:56But hers is beautiful. Yeah.
- 34:58Certain ones that are really, really pretty.
- 35:01But that one is it grabs your attention.
- 35:03I agree with that. Yeah.
- 35:07But yeah, so we have her. Oh, Landon Hill is next.
- 35:11OK so we just talked to Lane and Chelsea and you did He has
- 35:17cowboy. Oh, you got her book.
- 35:19How cool. OK so she writes cowboy romance,
- 35:23but it's dark ROM com cowboy romance.
- 35:27OK, so we got that twist in there.
- 35:30Chelsea just read one of her books and said she.
- 35:32Just read this one. It's she.
- 35:34Read this first one. Like dark romance, she said.
- 35:37So it's out there, and it's very different from Chelsea's little
- 35:42contemporary romances. She likes to read, yes.
- 35:45Her little cowboy romance, she's like, yeah, that was a lot
- 35:48different. Oh, yeah.
- 35:49But she liked it, though. She did like.
- 35:52Oh, yeah, she liked it. But she was like.
- 35:54But our little Chelsea was like, oh.
- 35:58It's great that she. Yeah, the darkness.
- 36:00It does have. Some that was.
- 36:02Dark. Oh yeah, well, because she the
- 36:05now she has read what is it haunting and hunting Adeline?
- 36:11And that was the probably the darkest that she has read which
- 36:15and now I myself personally, I haven't read those, but I know
- 36:19they're they're dark. But but I myself personally, I
- 36:25love dark. I love it.
- 36:27So I'm excited to to read this because I've never read a cowboy
- 36:30romance before. That was never something I was
- 36:33interested in. But the thing that's neat about
- 36:36Landon is she's kind of like a hybrid.
- 36:39She has that cowboy romance element, but it is truly a dark
- 36:45romance. So she meets those two worlds
- 36:47together. And so people who are out there
- 36:50that are dark romance lovers, you know, and you love it, give
- 36:54this a chance. Give this an opportunity, and I
- 36:56think you will absolutely love it.
- 36:58And she is hilarious. She is the nicest, the nicest
- 37:02girl. And Chelsea made the statement.
- 37:04She said she is so sweet. And she said, where did this
- 37:06darkness come from? Right?
- 37:08Is she when you talk to her? Yeah.
- 37:11But I love it. I I I really.
- 37:13I really. Give this one a chance.
- 37:16Add it to your Mother's Day TVR because it's called the Trauma
- 37:19Bonded series, OK? Yes, there's going to be 4
- 37:24books. For.
- 37:25We are out. Yeah, it says here western Noor.
- 37:30How do you say whack in like French Noor?
- 37:34Western Noor with morally Gray Cowboys?
- 37:38Deep trauma healing cool. And each book is they're
- 37:43interconnected so read them in order, but they all they all
- 37:47follow a different couple in each book.
- 37:49Oh OK, and stand alone. Interconnected.
- 37:52So, so it's kind of like the same kind of thing.
- 37:54Like if you read Phantasma and Chantra, you know how they're,
- 37:58they're all in the same world, they're all interconnected, but
- 38:01they're different couples, correct.
- 38:03But the first one, Oh, yeah, it's, it's, it's good.
- 38:07Everything she has said, it just is like, yeah, I'm like, I told
- 38:11her she definitely sold me from everything she was saying.
- 38:14And you know, and you know what my wheelhouse is?
- 38:17And it is spicy. So does she have villains?
- 38:20Did you guys ask her that? Does she have a villain and your
- 38:23villain has? Villains.
- 38:24Oh yeah, these are all villains. This is all villain stuff.
- 38:28Perfect. And and the one that just came
- 38:30out, they're both villains. Fire.
- 38:35They're from prior books and I'm like.
- 38:38Interesting. I know kind.
- 38:40Of feel like reading that now like.
- 38:43I think you would love it. Bandits, you know, because I'm
- 38:46thinking like old Western, right, like you have your town
- 38:50with like the bank and the saloon and you Hor riding the
- 38:54horsebacks, right and those towns are like this big, you
- 38:57know, like while you're going through and.
- 39:00Well, and she said. It's very, you know, it's the
- 39:03dart, it's the, the villain Kit, you know, the the cowboy.
- 39:06That's not the good guy. These aren't the, these aren't
- 39:10the people that are going to come save the ranch.
- 39:12Yeah. They're not the shares, no. 3rd
- 39:16the like Lone Ranger Bandit. Oh, I'm going to steal your
- 39:20women and money out of the bank. Well, in the in the main main,
- 39:25the main female character in this one, her name is Stetson.
- 39:29And then the guy that's the the I guess the love interest in
- 39:33this one, it's Augustus, which she calls Gus.
- 39:36And when we asked her who would she, what was it?
- 39:42How did we ask? Fight, fight, fuck or kill?
- 39:50Or maybe it was Mary. No, it wasn't kill.
- 39:52It was Mary. Well, she was she.
- 39:54Was going to fuck us, that's what she said.
- 39:56So the one in here is the one she wants to fuck.
- 39:58So that tells you what? Yes.
- 40:01Love it. But she's hilarious, so please
- 40:06go and check out her book. And the third book just came out
- 40:09last week, so that was on April 14th that came out.
- 40:16So go check that out. Yeah, and remember when you buy
- 40:20a series is one book, so all three of those is one book on
- 40:24your TBR. So just remind your family of
- 40:30these rules. You want them all?
- 40:32Exactly. And you can get it right from
- 40:35her her site too. Yeah.
- 40:38Nice. Because you can get on her
- 40:40Lincoln bio, her Lincoln bio, she has it and I, I right now I
- 40:43currently have it on our Lincoln bio too, where you can go
- 40:46directly in order. Yeah 2 year olds 1 TBR does have
- 40:513 links. Sorry, not pre-orders.
- 40:53Yes. And then now our next one is
- 40:57Evelyn Ashe. She is going to be on the
- 40:59podcast later this summer. She has a series or a book
- 41:05called A Beautifully Crafted Lie.
- 41:07It comes out in August. It features shadow days and
- 41:12excellent anxiety representation.
- 41:15I have anxiety. We all have anxiety.
- 41:18It doesn't. So excited to to see what that
- 41:23one is. I don't know if this is her
- 41:27debut novel, but it's supposed to be very good.
- 41:31Nice. OK, yeah, I have not heard of
- 41:35her yet until we were making our list here for Mother's Day, so
- 41:42I'm excited. I have a her book coming, so
- 41:45yeah, I'll definitely. She's from Australia.
- 41:50For some reason I'm saying she's from there.
- 41:53OK, I might be wrong. Well, but I think that's what
- 41:57I'm. Another author in Australia, so.
- 42:00But I think this is the second one though.
- 42:01She's in Australia cuz we have another author.
- 42:04That's that she is from over in England.
- 42:08We have her as well, but that's that's a different that's I
- 42:12think she's in June as well. Cool.
- 42:16But we'll see once I have to plan everything.
- 42:18I have to get everybody coordinated because we have
- 42:20vacations and things going on. Anxiety about like all these
- 42:23books I need to read now, Rebecca, I got to go, got to
- 42:29bring you. All right, now you'll do this
- 42:33next lovely one because we just met this lovely.
- 42:35Lady she, I didn't know she lived in North Carolina with me,
- 42:40Rhiannon Hartigut, Hargadon, Hargadon, she does the Queen's
- 42:45fate and bloody black. So she has, I think that's a
- 42:50bloody Black's a stand alone and we are having her own podcast to
- 42:54talk about bloody bloody black and that's a pirate's like the
- 43:03towing of. Blackbeard.
- 43:07Thank you. I was like Beard and Blackbeard
- 43:13is a woman that goes through some traumatic things and has to
- 43:17deal with her trauma while thinking about vengeance and if
- 43:24it's worth having at the end of the day.
- 43:27Very good emotionally damaging. It kills it.
- 43:33It is amazing. I I just have to say that I did
- 43:38audio book also really great so. I loved it cuz I read this.
- 43:44Sorry today, April 20th when we were recording, but this will
- 43:48come out on Thursday. But she just came out and told
- 43:53us that she got a book deal. So I just saw that on Instagram.
- 43:57She didn't announce that for Bloody Black.
- 43:59So she's getting tried. So I'm excited for some new
- 44:03additions and maybe a graphic audio.
- 44:07Just go to. Yeah, put that out there.
- 44:10Would be this this book is is amazing.
- 44:14It's you know, it's pirates night.
- 44:15This was the first pirate book I've ever read.
- 44:18And I just, I loved it when I read it.
- 44:21That's why I was like, Heather, you have to read this.
- 44:23Yeah, it's it's so. Elements.
- 44:27But it's not like Faye monsters. It's like you have your siren.
- 44:32Magical. There's magical beings, but
- 44:35they're not. It's different.
- 44:38Your old, like, mythical creatures that you had, you
- 44:43know, that people would talk about out in on the ocean in
- 44:46those days, You know, your sirens, your genies, your
- 44:50treasure finders, you know, stuff like that.
- 44:53So there are magical elements, but not really like, yeah, Faye.
- 44:58I I I'm thinking like Faye. Well, there is.
- 45:00Well, there is a Faye. Well, there is one Faye person
- 45:02in there. She's.
- 45:04Yep, the one that likes to leave the bodies at the door.
- 45:12She was Faye. Oh, OK, well.
- 45:15She was Faye. There's Faye, There's a genie.
- 45:19Well, that they call it Gin. Yeah.
- 45:22Then the the one guy I don't know what I would consider him
- 45:25cuz he had the like the spiky things that there's witches.
- 45:32Like ignore all of that while I was reading.
- 45:36I did not like see them this way.
- 45:39That's. So weird that's not even though
- 45:40she mentions what they are, that's not the predominant thing
- 45:43about. It's more what they are, the
- 45:45characters and stuff. Because you build such a
- 45:49relationship with the characters itself, I guess.
- 45:52Yeah, those parts were just details.
- 45:55Right. It's not like using their magic
- 45:57consistently throughout that book.
- 45:59Like it's very random when. They do, but it's vengeance.
- 46:03It's a revenge tour. And it is.
- 46:05Yeah. Good.
- 46:07Oh man. I love it.
- 46:08Roger, man. Charlie.
- 46:10Yes. That's my favorite.
- 46:13Character. I can't wait till Chelsea has
- 46:17just started it. I know so.
- 46:19Moving today so she can't read and maybe once she gets
- 46:25audiobooks so she can audiobook while she unpacks.
- 46:28She needs to read this thing. But it's so good yeah, but it's
- 46:32it's good. So everybody go and that now
- 46:35she, her episode comes out next week, not cuz this is the
- 46:40Mother's Day one this week and then hers comes out the
- 46:42following week. So you'll get to see her
- 46:44interview and our chat with her and she gives like a the back
- 46:50story of what, why she started writing this.
- 46:52And you know, she's, she's really, she's an amazing person.
- 46:57Yeah, and we're gonna get a sneak peek about what she's
- 47:01working on right now, Yes, so. And if she's going to continue
- 47:08anything with Bloody Black. I'm going to keep telling her
- 47:13she needs to do it. Yeah, but we'll talk about all
- 47:17that in another episode. Yes, so, but again, so everybody
- 47:22check her out and then. Yeah.
- 47:26Now this one here, I feel you should you should talk about her
- 47:29because you you love her as much I I love her too.
- 47:32Yeah, but I have, I am generous. I haven't read it, but I have
- 47:36them sitting there on my shelf. Chelsea.
- 47:38Never told me if she liked ever sees or not but.
- 47:41I don't know if she started it or not, she said she was going
- 47:44to but then her move got in all and that involved so I don't
- 47:48know if she ended up with the time to read it yet.
- 47:51Exactly. OK, well, if you have not read
- 47:55LJ Andrews and you've been thinking about it, it's on your
- 47:58TBR definitely by this series, the Eversee series.
- 48:03It was re released because they got trad picked up by Tran
- 48:07publisher and it's a pirates, Vikings Fey.
- 48:13OK, magical elements of like sea bending, tide bending, water
- 48:19bending, all that kind of stuff. And yeah, there's a scene where
- 48:26it's kind of like you disrespect my lady and we'll and then make
- 48:32jewelry out of you. OK.
- 48:35So I'm so I'm super excited to read that one as well.
- 48:38My husband bought me the three books, the ones that are out in
- 48:43the Ever sees, the Ever King, the Ever Queen and.
- 48:46Miss Thief and then bought. Them for me for Christmas.
- 48:49Yes, October, yeah, because they just were re released as
- 48:53hardbacks because they were in the before, so they were only
- 48:57paperbacks. So now they did hardbacks are
- 49:00out and paperbacks are coming with the new covers.
- 49:06Hold on, let me think May, June and July, I think because or
- 49:12something sometime very soon, but they're going to release
- 49:17like one month after the next. And then Stolen Crowns is book 5
- 49:23and it's like an interconnected stand alone 444.
- 49:29Yeah, what did I say, 54? You said 5.
- 49:31My bad, Stolen Crowns is book. 4 and that comes out, what,
- 49:37October, right? October, yeah, yeah.
- 49:39So that's super exciting. Now I was looking on her on her
- 49:45website cuz you can order all her books from there and she
- 49:48packages them herself. Yeah, she it.
- 49:50Says on there. Sir Aubrey, Hilarious.
- 49:53Love her. She she works in the warehouse
- 49:56and stuff and she does like warehouse day reels and stuff
- 50:00with the merch. They've got some really great
- 50:04merch and yeah, the books. Oh my gosh, the table.
- 50:08The broken sell. Them.
- 50:10That's her. That's the series that is the
- 50:13prequel to the Eversea series, right?
- 50:16Yeah. Yeah, yeah, the mommies and
- 50:18daddies of the people in the Everseas are in the.
- 50:24Broken Kingdom. Broken Kingdom.
- 50:26Is that what it is? Yes.
- 50:27Broken Kingdom. Yeah.
- 50:28Well, they have she has the entire is it 99 book series and
- 50:33it's in one collection and it's it's you can pre-order it.
- 50:37So it mustn't be available yet. OK, and they're hardbacks and
- 50:41they're beautiful covers and they're all different colors and
- 50:45they're I think she signs and it says all every copy is signed by
- 50:49her in them. Yeah, so and I think it's like
- 50:50300 and some dollars, but for 9 books.
- 50:53That's that's, you know, hardback and they're signed my
- 50:56in a set. My Melissa Lady of Darkness
- 51:02there with all the sprayed edges and stuff was like 2, 80, maybe
- 51:07three with shipping so and that's 5 bucks, but with a bunch
- 51:11of character art sprayed edges, yeah, all those stuff so.
- 51:15I don't know if these have sprayed edges I'll have to look
- 51:17at, but I know they are beautiful.
- 51:18They're they're real bright colors and it's cool.
- 51:21They're all different. As it goes down.
- 51:22You'll have to look on Yeah LJS that.
- 51:25Could be dangerous though. But they do, they're pretty, but
- 51:30they're preordered. I don't know though when they
- 51:32ship because I looked on the description just to see, but I
- 51:36didn't see any detail of exact that is.
- 51:40But yeah. So you can preorder, maybe
- 51:42summer, maybe sometime. I have not heard OK.
- 51:47I saw it on our website just a little bit ago.
- 51:50So now that is all of our authors and now we're going to
- 51:55go into our small businesses. So please again, but the authors
- 52:01go give them love. Please order their books.
- 52:03We recommend all of these, all those books that we listed.
- 52:06For. You won't be.
- 52:08Gifts. Yeah, and you won't be
- 52:10disappointed. And as you remember, even though
- 52:13it's Mother's Day, you, you, you push that child out.
- 52:17You deserve to buy yourself whatever you want.
- 52:21You know, now the small businesses now the first one
- 52:26here, this is Nayana. That's how I'm going to say it.
- 52:31I, again, I don't know how to pronounce it.
- 52:33Nayana designs. But now, if I remember
- 52:36correctly, she is in Australia, but she does ship worldwide.
- 52:42She does fine bookish jewelry and she's officially licensed
- 52:46gold and silver pieces and everything she's had or that she
- 52:51sent the pictures and stuff of is absolutely beautiful.
- 52:54Yeah, she has daggers and like, dragon pendants, like coin kind
- 53:01of stuff. To me it feels rustic but like
- 53:07yeah. Not Rusty.
- 53:10It's not like helping little things.
- 53:12Yeah, it's they're, yeah, they're very pretty looking.
- 53:16Yes, yes, I would call that OK, but that's really neat.
- 53:22And then Chris. Yeah, Kristen.
- 53:25I almost said Kirsten. Sorry.
- 53:27Kristen's creations is character inspired charm jewelry to keep
- 53:32your buck boyfriends close. Oh, cute.
- 53:36And everything again. All her stuff was really cute
- 53:39when I was. Looking at her, the one with the
- 53:42like they had like stars and moons and they're a little
- 53:45bigger pieces. I think like kind of more like
- 53:48neck like not like your necklace.
- 53:51Now that's like a little pendant.
- 53:53The girl before Nae Nae is like pendants.
- 53:58Her Kristen's creations are like neck pieces where they they're
- 54:02like a bunch of charms that come out and stuff.
- 54:05So yeah, I'm looking at the pictures like she had sent US1
- 54:08It has like a dagger and then it has like looks like like a star
- 54:13possibly or something. And it goes all kinds of things
- 54:15that maybe that one is a book. I don't know what the they're
- 54:18no, they're jewels. They're just really, really,
- 54:20really pretty and and they're they, she has like the gold and
- 54:24then the one is like on a pearls and stuff.
- 54:27It's just you have to go and check out her stuff.
- 54:29It's very, very pretty. I like that kind of stuff.
- 54:35Now the next one is our friend. This is Lucid Glass Art.
- 54:39She does stained glass. She lives out in Washington
- 54:44state and she does absolutely beautiful pieces.
- 54:49She does one-of-a-kind stained glass heirloom pieces for your
- 54:52library. Everything and anything I've
- 54:56ever seen her do. It's absolutely gorgeous.
- 54:59Yeah. I'm like, I would love to buy
- 55:02all this stuff that. She has cool hobby to have.
- 55:05Like it is not going to lie, I'd probably start that next.
- 55:08That's pretty cool. If I remember correctly, not
- 55:11long ago she made a stained glass lamp.
- 55:15Oh my goodness. Really beautiful.
- 55:16Oh yeah, she does all kinds. She has her website you can go
- 55:19to, and you can look at all the different pieces she has.
- 55:21It's neat. Yeah, she's making tarot cards
- 55:24right now and stained glass. So like book lover tarot card,
- 55:28stuff like that looks really cool.
- 55:31Yeah, good colors, beautiful. Next is ink and Ivy.
- 55:36They are aesthetic stickers and e-reader inserts.
- 55:40So, Kindle girl girlies, I might actually get something for my
- 55:47colored Kindle. Do you need something for yours?
- 55:49Yeah, I'm going to look at her store, add that to my Mother's
- 55:52Day gifts and get like an insert, maybe a case, little pop
- 55:57socket. And then I've never had one of
- 56:00those little charms that people put it on the back of them.
- 56:04So I'm like you need. That.
- 56:05Brat and then they she sells those little butt.
- 56:08They call them butt plugs. They're dust plugs, but they're
- 56:13butt plugs. OK, OK.
- 56:17And they have like little charms that come off of them.
- 56:20We'll see if you need that. Of course.
- 56:23I'm surprised you don't have a case.
- 56:25I'm surprised I don't. On there.
- 56:27That is shocking to me, I know. I have not been kind to this
- 56:33Kindle, Yeah, because usually I buy like the whole setup when I
- 56:38buy it. But because this freaking thing
- 56:40was so expensive to begin with. Yeah, I just bought it and I
- 56:47tried to. That's the you said that's the
- 56:49color 1. So you see the color covers and
- 56:52stuff like that or anything that's color.
- 56:54But you know, I need to mess with the settings because like
- 56:56you can kind of see the color on there, but to me it's still very
- 57:01dark where is like my paper, my paperwhite, like it's very much
- 57:09more vibrant and this is black and white and this is colored.
- 57:13Maybe it needs? Like your brightness and stuff
- 57:16needs to be. Turned out that's what I'm
- 57:18wondering because I'm not like and I was reading because.
- 57:22It does seem dark. Yeah, I was reading on my
- 57:24Paperwhite the other day and I feel like it has a like a better
- 57:34reading. Yeah, like a reading preference
- 57:39preface, something like that. I do like the color because you
- 57:44can highlight in color and stuff like that.
- 57:47OK. Whereas the Paperwhite is just
- 57:49black and white. So.
- 57:51But I don't know, there's more pros and cons to both.
- 57:54Maybe we should do like a Kindle guide.
- 57:58Yeah, thing. Maybe we'll do that, have
- 58:01memorial. Thing do you have the remote and
- 58:04stuff so that you can turn your pages and stuff and do you have
- 58:08it that a stand that you hook it on so you can be laying down and
- 58:12just have it in? Front of the face.
- 58:13I did, I did and then I had to get rid of it when we moved.
- 58:17So I am still looking for a better one because it wasn't
- 58:21really that great. It was kind of one that clamped
- 58:24and it was really hard to move around.
- 58:27OK, so I want to get one, a new one, but I don't know if I want
- 58:31one that's like the pillow top kind that sits in the back.
- 58:35Yeah. I know what you're talking.
- 58:36About or if I need like an actual like standing one where I
- 58:40can kind of like move it around. Because I've seen the ones where
- 58:42you can stand it, it's like a, it goes on the floor and it's a
- 58:46stand. Like you can have it for your
- 58:47bed or if you're on the on the couch or something like that.
- 58:50And then I've seen the ones where it's like a little poofy
- 58:52thing and you can set it in. Then you can have your snackies
- 58:55and your stuff with you too. That's cool too, yeah.
- 58:59You need to start making yourself your birthday list.
- 59:02I would think so. So that your husband knows
- 59:07things that you. Want yeah with links so he could
- 59:09just click yes. Because make it simple for him
- 59:14and then he and then he can't have any excuse of that.
- 59:17He didn't know what you wanted. Yeah.
- 59:21Sometimes we have to do these things.
- 59:23I know now the the next one here that we have is Book Dragons
- 59:29library. This is a monthly themed
- 59:32e-reader Decor kits right there. What were we just talking about?
- 59:36You need decor? Yeah, but she does all different
- 59:39ones and she actually gave us a code and it's 2G1T10.
- 59:47Yeah. And that'll give you a
- 59:49percentage off any of your orders.
- 59:52I'll have the codes because we do have a few codes.
- 59:56We'll have that on the the slideshow there with all the
- 1:00:01yeah, people's pictures. We'll.
- 1:00:03Add that in OK, so she has a code for book Dragon library,
- 1:00:09Dragon's library. So if you're like, hey, I need
- 1:00:11some Kindle stuff, she's your girl.
- 1:00:13Get 10% on it looks like 10% but.
- 1:00:17I would say probably that's what it is, yeah.
- 1:00:20All right, honey and I'm honey ambrosia and honey.
- 1:00:24We've talked about them before. They're good companies.
- 1:00:28Home of the cozy coven print club.
- 1:00:31She does hand painted Tavern signs they're really cool like
- 1:00:36bookshelf signs like if you need like fantasy section and stuff
- 1:00:40like that. She's.
- 1:00:41The original person that did them too, she's the one that
- 1:00:44started it. Yes.
- 1:00:46Bravo. So that's what's pretty neat.
- 1:00:48Yeah, they're really pretty. I really like them.
- 1:00:52Yeah, I don't think she 3D prints.
- 1:00:55I think she like wood. Works out.
- 1:00:56I think they're wood. I think, I don't know, but
- 1:01:00they're, but they look wood. We'll just put it that way.
- 1:01:03But they're very pretty and you know, they put them on your
- 1:01:06shelf and they have the little sign and it says like the
- 1:01:09different categories of genres that you read and they're really
- 1:01:14cute. But yeah, go look at her stuff.
- 1:01:16She's got some really, really, really cute things.
- 1:01:20The next one is a Sparrow and Wild.
- 1:01:23They do license apparel that prioritize comfort for reading
- 1:01:28marathons and they have some really cute clothes, really cute
- 1:01:32shirts and sweatshirt and things like that.
- 1:01:36I do cute shirts. A lot of mine are starting to
- 1:01:41finally wear away, so I was telling hubby I might be
- 1:01:46spending some money on some new book shirts.
- 1:01:50They're really cute, I mean, and they look like they're good
- 1:01:54quality. So they would, you know, they
- 1:01:56would last kind of thing. Oh yeah, I'm looking here at.
- 1:01:59Them I mean book shirts that I have had, I think I've had them
- 1:02:04for like 3 years now and those were from Verse and Vibe Co and
- 1:02:12they do great stuff. They aren't on our list today,
- 1:02:15but that was my very first like bookish shirt purchase and I am
- 1:02:21going to go back to them actually and buy some of my like
- 1:02:27rebuy some of my shirts that I love today that I wish you know,
- 1:02:32but because I wash them so much and wear them so much that they
- 1:02:36stay on eventually, you know, warm out so.
- 1:02:40Well, I'm just looking at the pictures that we have of this.
- 1:02:42She has, I'm assuming since it says War College, is that
- 1:02:46possibly with 4th Wing? Yeah.
- 1:02:48Dragon Jelly Jubilee, as you know, that is from Crescent
- 1:02:52City. And then she has the House of
- 1:02:55Wind, so she's licensed with all the different authors and that.
- 1:02:59So they have some really, really, really cute shirts.
- 1:03:03So I suggest all of you go look at that and buy the ladies in
- 1:03:08your life some fancy clothes. Yes, I I like those that NC.
- 1:03:14OK, what is our next one? Charming.
- 1:03:16Chapters. Oh yeah, charming chapters has
- 1:03:21library card sleeves, so those are really cool.
- 1:03:26When you go and meet authors or you go to your book cons and
- 1:03:28stuff. It's a library leave like for
- 1:03:34Kindle or your book, but it has like the lines available so that
- 1:03:39the author can sign on the line. And that's one way to like
- 1:03:43collect signatures, especially if you can book or it just to
- 1:03:50me, it's very creative. It's very different fun way.
- 1:03:55Of. Finding signatures and the date
- 1:03:59like when they, you know, sign and so you'll remember always.
- 1:04:05That is a smart thing. I mean, that is really a a cute
- 1:04:08thing to do. I'm trying to find OH.
- 1:04:10She has a color Lovett LOVE IT15 so you get 15% off if you want
- 1:04:18to go grab some stuff from her. And then our next one is the
- 1:04:24Flight of Fantasy Bookshop. It does are they do perfectly
- 1:04:28gifted indie books are perfectly gift wrapped indie books with
- 1:04:33handmade bookmarks. And she does a code as well.
- 1:04:37And it's mom 10 to get 10% off. And their stuff is really, and
- 1:04:41when you go on to their site is they have some really cute
- 1:04:44stuff. Yeah, and then Alyssa Marie
- 1:04:48Creative has spicy coloring books, literature, bookmarks,
- 1:04:53and woven blankets. I didn't want to see these
- 1:04:57coloring books though. I seen I seen the she did a
- 1:05:01picture because today is 4/20 and she did artwork and it's
- 1:05:07this very voluptuous fairy I think it was.
- 1:05:11And she had the sparkle tassels on the they were they were they
- 1:05:16were the leaves since it's 420 on her.
- 1:05:19Oh. Yeah, on her.
- 1:05:20Very curvaceous. That's cool, but she does all
- 1:05:24kinds of stuff and it's just, and it's like real whimsical,
- 1:05:27like witchy. And I just, I, I saw her one day
- 1:05:31when I was just looking at things and I, I came across her
- 1:05:35stuff and she does really neat stuff.
- 1:05:38So if you like to do that, I mean, she has other things
- 1:05:41besides besides coloring book stuff.
- 1:05:43She does have other things. But if you like to do that cuz I
- 1:05:47like to do the adult coloring books too.
- 1:05:50But yeah, these are really neat. And she has stuff cute.
- 1:05:53Yeah. Yes, the code is 2 girls TWOGIR
- 1:05:59LS152 girls 15. Yes, it's again, it's really
- 1:06:05cute. The next one is the Cozy Charm
- 1:06:08Store. These are handmade Kindle charms
- 1:06:11as well to make your tech look magical.
- 1:06:14Yeah, she has a little. She has a code and a code.
- 1:06:20Her code is Mother's Day, Mother's with an SDAY 26 and
- 1:06:28then our last but not least, Green Daisy soaps.
- 1:06:33She has these really nice handmade artis, artisanal soaps
- 1:06:39and bath products to elevate your reading ritual.
- 1:06:43Smell really good too. Oh yeah, and she has like body
- 1:06:47spray. She has soap and I think she has
- 1:06:49body butter, you know? Yeah.
- 1:06:52Good stuff. So homemade bath shop.
- 1:06:56Oh, yeah, and she does it and it's very, it's like the clean
- 1:06:59kind of stuff. Do you know what I mean?
- 1:07:00It's not like, you know, like how you buy.
- 1:07:02A simple. Story, Yeah, yeah, this is like
- 1:07:05she formulates it and everything.
- 1:07:07It's very clinical how they they do it.
- 1:07:10There, it's great. Yeah, and I've seen that she's
- 1:07:13been making like other like little fancy soaps and stuff
- 1:07:15like that too. I mean, we should, we deserve,
- 1:07:19you know, all those kind of fancy kind of things, you know?
- 1:07:22I mean, you know, it doesn't matter.
- 1:07:24What if you're you're you're. You have a child or if you're a
- 1:07:28dog mom or any of those kind of things, us as women, we, we, we
- 1:07:32deserve these kind of things. We put up with a lot.
- 1:07:36Yeah. And so we, we deserve to treat
- 1:07:39ourselves or have someone treat us and, and buy us nice little
- 1:07:44things because, you know, we as you know, as women, we take care
- 1:07:48of everyone. And so, you know, it's nice to
- 1:07:52have someone take care of us and think of us and buy us these
- 1:07:57little pretty things and buy us the books that we love so we can
- 1:08:00escape to the world's, you know, that bring us happiness.
- 1:08:05You know what I mean? You know, you know, years ago, I
- 1:08:09used to be like, oh, you know, and, and get like a card or get
- 1:08:14like, I would buy my mom. I would get her flowers and
- 1:08:17stuff outside because that's what she wanted, you know, that
- 1:08:20kind of thing. I would get her all her flowers
- 1:08:22for her window boxes and and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:08:25But for me, I, I like all these kind of things.
- 1:08:28This is, this is a way to my heart.
- 1:08:31Yeah. Now we now, now this is our
- 1:08:33Mother's Day guide. Now we will be doing this again
- 1:08:37probably in November this year because we're, we're more, we're
- 1:08:41making a plan. What about Father?
- 1:08:43'S should we do a guide? Well, we could do one for the
- 1:08:47guys. We could.
- 1:08:49We could indeed, and vote on. That I know we're like mainly
- 1:08:53female dominance, Yeah, in the book world, on social media, I
- 1:08:59feel like. But I follow a lot of the guys
- 1:09:01too, and they're reading what we're reading.
- 1:09:04So we could look at this. Yeah, we could do like a little
- 1:09:08mini what to buy our our shadow daddies.
- 1:09:13Yeah, our our husbands or boyfriends and yeah, it's.
- 1:09:20Thought we'll have to implement this in.
- 1:09:22Our and we can even like rework it to where it like benefits us
- 1:09:26too like. Well, of course I'll buy.
- 1:09:29This for Father's Day, if you know it benefits me, maybe like
- 1:09:34a book we can share. Yeah, maybe some candles that
- 1:09:39sets the mood. That is true.
- 1:09:44You know, you do all these, you know, you do all these kind of
- 1:09:47things. You might end up with another
- 1:09:48reason for Father's Day. I know, right?
- 1:09:52Maybe we'll put on there some kind of conscious.
- 1:09:59But, but we will be doing it again.
- 1:10:01But no matter what, we will be doing another one in the fall.
- 1:10:04I don't know if we should do this in habit that it's early
- 1:10:07like in October or we should wait till like the beginning of
- 1:10:10November because Christmas time and that is kind of crazy with
- 1:10:14shipping and, and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:10:17So I wonder if we should do it a little earlier, like.
- 1:10:19Late October. Late October, do something for
- 1:10:24the kickoff. Codes and and whenever we
- 1:10:27feature anyone on one of these podcasts we're trying to get
- 1:10:32codes from a lot of these well mainly the small businesses and
- 1:10:38then just kind of representing our indie authors and stuff but.
- 1:10:43Well, maybe even this fall, like maybe some of a lot of times
- 1:10:46like indie authors and stuff, they maybe they'll do like
- 1:10:49special packages or something like the.
- 1:10:52Book yeah, like little collections that for their book
- 1:10:56for the Christian season yeah so.
- 1:10:59To reach out and talk to some of them, see if they if they want
- 1:11:02to be part of our gift guide for that time, maybe they'll do
- 1:11:05something special just for us. That would be cool.
- 1:11:08Like like little package, like hey, if you listen to us like
- 1:11:13they'll put this together. You just put the code in and
- 1:11:17these are the things you get. I'm excited for that.
- 1:11:20That's something because like again, we want to make this
- 1:11:23special every year for all of the people that listen and us as
- 1:11:27well. But you know, have, you know, to
- 1:11:30celebrate us, you know, and have things that you know, we can
- 1:11:33like celebrate these authors. We can celebrate these small
- 1:11:36businesses and show the things that we love.
- 1:11:39And then we want it to be something super special that you
- 1:11:42can come back every year to look at these things and listen to us
- 1:11:46blab and mispronounce things. Always, Yeah.
- 1:11:51Always. But that's our gift guide for
- 1:11:55this year, for Mother's Day. I know what I'm buying, or put
- 1:11:59it on the list at least so. I have, I have some thoughts
- 1:12:05there. I mean, there's I would, I don't
- 1:12:08know, every one of them has something that I would want.
- 1:12:12So I mean, and every and none of it's like super, super expensive
- 1:12:16of any kind. It's not like you're like, it's
- 1:12:19not any different than any other place, but this is actually
- 1:12:22you're supporting a small business instead of the big
- 1:12:25corporation and stuff like that, which is nice.
- 1:12:28Yeah. Kind of thing.
- 1:12:30Well, I need to go shop now. Let's conclude this for 2026
