- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey, what are boxing fans? This is the Rope Adobe
- 0:05Speaker 1: Radio Podcast, the real Rope Adobe Radio Podcast. For those
- 0:11Speaker 1: who know no what's going on. It's been a long time.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I shouldn't have left you with that. Okay, I'll stop.
- 0:20Speaker 1: That's Eric Bean Rock Kim by the way, for those
- 0:23Speaker 1: who know no. Anyway, it's been right around two weeks
- 0:29Speaker 1: since the last show. You know, near the end of
- 0:33Speaker 1: the last episode, I did mention how still was kind
- 0:36Speaker 1: of trying to figure out what I'm going to do
- 0:38Speaker 1: the next episode. I did go on a much needed
- 0:41Speaker 1: vacation shut it down for a little bit. But we
- 0:45Speaker 1: are back. Okay. Obviously last weekend, I wouldn't even say
- 0:50Speaker 1: it was mid right, August has been. It's been, it's
- 0:54Speaker 1: been mid it's been bad. Right. We do have a
- 0:58Speaker 1: pay per view from Saudi on the Zone coming up.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Uh It'sama against White along with the undercard. There's some
- 1:10Speaker 1: interesting matchups. The undercard, I'd say the closest fight got
- 1:19Speaker 1: you know, well, I didn't get postponed, but one of
- 1:23Speaker 1: the opponents or one of the boxers had to you know,
- 1:28Speaker 1: drop out, So that was probably the closest undercard about
- 1:32Speaker 1: what it was. I haven't looked at the odds and whiles,
- 1:35Speaker 1: but I know it is so there's some interesting matchups
- 1:38Speaker 1: on the undercard, but it kind of feels like, you know,
- 1:45Speaker 1: the A side is gonna win. We we could get
- 1:48Speaker 1: like some good entertainment stuff, you know, but it just
- 1:52Speaker 1: kind of feels like it's you know, we kind of
- 1:56Speaker 1: know who's gonna win in the fights. But you know,
- 2:00Speaker 1: we can say a whole lot going into a fight
- 2:03Speaker 1: weekend and then shit pops off, and who knows, maybe
- 2:07Speaker 1: shit will pop off in the main event. Dillion White
- 2:12Speaker 1: is getting up there in age, even for heavyweight. He's
- 2:16Speaker 1: getting up there. He's been battle tested, he's worn down,
- 2:23Speaker 1: he's not the same fighter he was, but he still
- 2:26Speaker 1: represents not just a name, but the best opponent Moses
- 2:31Speaker 1: have it has fought and it'll be really interesting as
- 2:35Speaker 1: we break this fight down, you know, to see if
- 2:43Speaker 1: you know, in fact, Million White can weather they're early
- 2:47Speaker 1: storm because it's on the radar, the satellite's picking up
- 2:51Speaker 1: the early storm. It kind of you know, survived that,
- 2:57Speaker 1: whether that and then get to the middle in late
- 3:00Speaker 1: rounds and that's where this fight could get very interesting.
- 3:06Speaker 1: So yeah, you know, I think it's a really solid
- 3:09Speaker 1: opponent for the young Moses and I'm excited to see
- 3:16Speaker 1: it now. You know, should it be on pay per view? No,
- 3:21Speaker 1: it shouldn't, right, it shouldn't even be in the UK.
- 3:25Speaker 1: And I get meaning on pay per view in the UK,
- 3:31Speaker 1: it should be in the UK, but you know Sadi's
- 3:33Speaker 1: paying for it whatever, But I don't even think it
- 3:38Speaker 1: should be pay per view in the UK. He's like,
- 3:41Speaker 1: if you're trying to build a star, which this dude
- 3:45Speaker 1: has potential, he's at heavyweight. The UK produces heavyweights. There
- 3:52Speaker 1: are plenty of fights. I wouldn't go rush them and
- 3:55Speaker 1: have them fight Usik, but I do think it's a
- 3:58Speaker 1: mistake to have it on paper. So we're gonna break
- 4:04Speaker 1: down the car, talk a little bit about the undercard fights,
- 4:07Speaker 1: and break especially break down the main event, and then
- 4:12Speaker 1: there'll be a little bit of follow up from the
- 4:16Speaker 1: last discussion that John and I had. John's not gonna
- 4:19Speaker 1: be able to make it tonight. I wasn't able to
- 4:21Speaker 1: do it Tuesday night. Just a heads up, so it
- 4:25Speaker 1: won't be a super long show. But I didn't get
- 4:30Speaker 1: plenty of messages just off our you know all the
- 4:34Speaker 1: Act two point zero, right, Well, we talked about the
- 4:36Speaker 1: Ali Act, and I think when we talk about a monopoly,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I mean Turkey's getting closer and closer to monopolizing the
- 4:47Speaker 1: sport obviously, right, just naturally from what he's doing. So
- 4:52Speaker 1: there's a there's a variety of ways to monopolize the sport, right.
- 4:57Speaker 1: But I think I've talked about, you know, like buying
- 5:02Speaker 1: out all the powers that be, buying out the sanctioning belts.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I've talked about that, you know, several times, right, for
- 5:13Speaker 1: longer segments over the years. Right, It's a topic that
- 5:16Speaker 1: even on like boxing Twitter spaces, I've had those conversations,
- 5:20Speaker 1: and I think people kind of some people, I should say,
- 5:25Speaker 1: kind of got it a little twisted from what I
- 5:28Speaker 1: was saying. You know, when there's a big merger, it's
- 5:33Speaker 1: not like one company everybody gets fired, like the whole
- 5:37Speaker 1: company's going, you know. So we'll get into that a
- 5:40Speaker 1: little bit, that the monopolizing situation would be like just
- 5:46Speaker 1: because you get bought out, doesn't mean every show that
- 5:51Speaker 1: Saudi Area would do would be just TKL, you know
- 5:54Speaker 1: what I mean. And there's no reason it couldn't run
- 5:57Speaker 1: like it currently does in some sense anyway where there
- 6:02Speaker 1: are promoters, and there are management and promoters and fighters
- 6:06Speaker 1: fighters obviously from all different platforms, right or whatever. Like
- 6:14Speaker 1: I said, management or promoters and stuff. So like matchmaking
- 6:19Speaker 1: and all that. It wouldn't be like everybody gets fired
- 6:22Speaker 1: and they just take it over and then they do
- 6:26Speaker 1: all the cards. You know, it's not like that. They
- 6:29Speaker 1: still could be working for the company. They just got
- 6:33Speaker 1: bought out, and it would be since they got bought out,
- 6:38Speaker 1: it would be less incentive to worry about your fighter
- 6:46Speaker 1: and your fighter alone and only build to certain you're
- 6:49Speaker 1: gonna build the fights, but just not over meritated. But
- 6:52Speaker 1: we're gonna talk a little bit about that, just lightly.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I don't want to get too deep into that. There's
- 6:58Speaker 1: some news since we last spoke about Boots Ennis and
- 7:04Speaker 1: his opponent. Not a lot of people happy with the opponent.
- 7:09Speaker 1: We'll talk about it and you know, discuss a little
- 7:13Speaker 1: bit anyway about you know, the public negotiations on the
- 7:17Speaker 1: side of Eddie Hearn for Boots in Virgil and whether
- 7:22Speaker 1: that fight will happen or whatever. We'll talk a little
- 7:25Speaker 1: to Vonte Davis and just a variety of things. UFC
- 7:30Speaker 1: did sign a blockbuster deal that for the most part,
- 7:38Speaker 1: for the most part doesn't involve pay per view and
- 7:41Speaker 1: involves not just Paramount, a streaming service. Right, I'm sure
- 7:46Speaker 1: it's CBS Sports Network, maybe even too, but CBS. We'll see,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you know, how that goes. Dana White did say, well,
- 7:54Speaker 1: pay per view is not dead. You know, there could
- 7:57Speaker 1: be little one offs, but overall, this deal doesn't really
- 8:01Speaker 1: have paper views in it, which you know for fans
- 8:04Speaker 1: combat sports fans and especially fans in the UFC MMA
- 8:08Speaker 1: in general, that's a big win. It's a big win.
- 8:11Speaker 1: We'll talk about it politically obviously, Dana Flex and his
- 8:15Speaker 1: muscles there well Trump as well as we know. So
- 8:21Speaker 1: you know, it's kind of a mixed bag of like
- 8:25Speaker 1: Dana saying that his t k O boxing stuff, the
- 8:31Speaker 1: deal for that has already done for next year. So
- 8:35Speaker 1: will that be ESPN, will it be Paramount, We'll see,
- 8:42Speaker 1: and you know, just a couple other like Fundur and Thurman.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I'll get my thoughts on that, just a variety of
- 8:50Speaker 1: stuff while we you know, we'll start in the ring,
- 8:54Speaker 1: break it down, you know, what's going on and whatnot.
- 8:59Speaker 1: If this's your first time listening to the Ropodope Radio podcast, Welcome.
- 9:03Speaker 1: It's available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music,
- 9:09Speaker 1: and more. While you're at it, head on over to
- 9:11Speaker 1: the rulinghoot dot com east Side Boxing in phil Boxing.
- 9:17Speaker 1: While you're at it, you should take a look at
- 9:21Speaker 1: DirecTV stream college football football in general. It's about to
- 9:25Speaker 1: pop off. Only a couple of weeks away from our
- 9:28Speaker 1: first college Football to College Ball show, and then the
- 9:32Speaker 1: week after that the Viking Show will be back. But talking,
- 9:37Speaker 1: direct TV stream streaming starts at forte a month the
- 9:41Speaker 1: first month, and you still could take advantage just of
- 9:45Speaker 1: that five day free trial to see if you like
- 9:47Speaker 1: it right, the first games on them start streaming for
- 9:53Speaker 1: zero dollars. Whether you're streaming on the go with your
- 9:55Speaker 1: smartphone or watching with your smart TV, DirecTV gives you
- 9:59Speaker 1: the access to entertainment you want, when you want it,
- 10:02Speaker 1: wherever you are. The first package the Entertainment Package forty
- 10:07Speaker 1: ninety nine for the first month. Okay, you have the
- 10:14Speaker 1: Choice Package which includes fan Duel in the SEC network
- 10:18Speaker 1: fifty four ninety nine for the first month, and the
- 10:20Speaker 1: Ultimate package is eighty four ninety nine for the first
- 10:23Speaker 1: month that includes over one hundred and sixty FN channels.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Direct TV straight. I want to start out the show
- 10:38Speaker 1: with two rips first in the ring. You know, since
- 10:45Speaker 1: we last spoke, not one but two fighters on that
- 10:50Speaker 1: Japanese card have passed, so rest in peace. I know
- 10:56Speaker 1: that they had like an emergency conference meeting or whatever,
- 11:02Speaker 1: and I did see something where if it's more like
- 11:06Speaker 1: domestic or what would be I think like domestic or
- 11:09Speaker 1: regional type fights, they're going to bring those from twelve
- 11:14Speaker 1: to ten or maybe that's what they're talking about. I
- 11:16Speaker 1: know I saw that kind of been passing. There is
- 11:20Speaker 1: you know, different talks about how they can help the
- 11:25Speaker 1: boxer quicker and I and I have noticed some people
- 11:28Speaker 1: talking about how they've noticed anyway that the Japanese folks
- 11:33Speaker 1: over there holding the events, they've noticed sometimes that it
- 11:38Speaker 1: takes a little while for you know, the boxer to
- 11:43Speaker 1: get care. So you know the thing about there's times
- 11:49Speaker 1: where I say that was a horrible stoppage, right, and
- 11:53Speaker 1: a lot of times it is sometimes you know, like
- 11:56Speaker 1: I am right, right, but they're you know, all of
- 11:58Speaker 1: us can kind to take a step back. Sometimes sometimes
- 12:02Speaker 1: we get caught up. I mean, fayboys get caught up
- 12:05Speaker 1: all the time, but sometimes we get a little emotional.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Sometimes there's money on the line. That's why I never
- 12:10Speaker 1: put enough money to like really really bug me down.
- 12:17Speaker 1: But just trying to keep in mind, especially the tough
- 12:19Speaker 1: guys on Twitter. And I'm not trying to act like
- 12:21Speaker 1: I'm a tough guy, right because I'm not. But when
- 12:25Speaker 1: you're calling fighters pussy for certain reasons where you're like, really, dude, Now,
- 12:31Speaker 1: if you see a fighter and they're filmed doing something
- 12:37Speaker 1: to a child or to a woman or what, you know,
- 12:40Speaker 1: that's different. You can call whenever you want at that point.
- 12:42Speaker 1: But like, sometimes people just get so tough talking when
- 12:49Speaker 1: it comes to boxing, and you know, so I think
- 12:53Speaker 1: it's just another reason to really, you know, get we know,
- 12:57Speaker 1: the saying, you know, you don't play box thing like
- 13:00Speaker 1: you play other sports. And sometimes we get caught up,
- 13:04Speaker 1: myself included, and you know, we we gotta remember how
- 13:11Speaker 1: just dead serious this this sport can be. So rest
- 13:17Speaker 1: in peace. Also from a boxing Twitter boxing fan perspective,
- 13:27Speaker 1: Nino Nino past recently Rest in peace too. To Nino.
- 13:37Speaker 1: You know, I've had it. I've been in a lot
- 13:39Speaker 1: of different you know, Twitter spaces with them. I've I
- 13:46Speaker 1: didn't have like a deep relationship with him, you know
- 13:49Speaker 1: what I mean. But he's a cool dude man, funny,
- 13:52Speaker 1: funny guy. Uh you know they're from time to time
- 13:56Speaker 1: talking boxing, talking hoops. Had a lot of different convers
- 14:00Speaker 1: stations with them and you know, exchange some messages and
- 14:07Speaker 1: and just a cool dude, man, stand up dude. So
- 14:10Speaker 1: that one, Uh, that was rough man. That that was
- 14:16Speaker 1: that's a that's a rough one man. You know. It
- 14:19Speaker 1: was good ship and he will be missed. And you know,
- 14:24Speaker 1: I already knew that he was good ship, but then
- 14:27Speaker 1: just seeing so many people on Twitter, uh, you know,
- 14:33Speaker 1: saying good things about him and just certain things that
- 14:36Speaker 1: would make us laugh or you know, he just he's
- 14:39Speaker 1: just a good dude. And like I said, I'm not
- 14:40Speaker 1: trying to say I was best friends with him, but
- 14:45Speaker 1: it's just a stand up guy man, you know, and
- 14:48Speaker 1: any funny like I said, funny ass dude, very passionate
- 14:53Speaker 1: like a lot of us. And uh, you know, I
- 14:57Speaker 1: remember two years years ago in the NBA Playoffs, second round,
- 15:03Speaker 1: Timberwolves Nuggets Game seven, timber Wolves getting their ass whoops
- 15:09Speaker 1: right and they start to make a comeback. And for
- 15:12Speaker 1: those you know who know they already know that they
- 15:16Speaker 1: came back and won. But Nino was so confident, like
- 15:20Speaker 1: even before they had even up the game that you
- 15:23Speaker 1: guys are gonna win. You know, he was already saying that.
- 15:26Speaker 1: It's like, oh shit, you know, and then after the game,
- 15:28Speaker 1: I was like, Nino was right, dude, They just I
- 15:31Speaker 1: don't know, man. I had a lot of great conversations
- 15:33Speaker 1: with them, you know, on Twitter spaces, and I don't know,
- 15:37Speaker 1: he'll definitely be based, man, So shouts out to Nino. Man,
- 15:43Speaker 1: that just sucks, man. It's it's it's that's a tough one. Man. Anyway.
- 15:50Speaker 1: You know, I'm not gonna get into a bunch of recap.
- 15:55Speaker 1: That's sand the ball, you know, firefight, entertaining, scrap came
- 16:03Speaker 1: off the ground, not you know, just just that was
- 16:05Speaker 1: a fun ass fight right there. There were some fun
- 16:08Speaker 1: fights recently since the last time we spoke. But like
- 16:14Speaker 1: I said, I'm not gonna do too much recap, but
- 16:21Speaker 1: just kind of looking at this card coming up. You know,
- 16:26Speaker 1: Nick Ball, Sam Goodman. Ball can be hit a lot,
- 16:32Speaker 1: but you know, I do see him ultimately winning that fight.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I do like the Hergevic David Adelai fight. H Adelaide
- 16:49Speaker 1: does have He's got good power. He does have one
- 16:53Speaker 1: loss to Fabio a couple of years back, probably right
- 16:58Speaker 1: around two years, a little short two years, I think
- 17:00Speaker 1: it was, and you know, it's not like it was
- 17:04Speaker 1: neck and neck and then he got knocked out. But
- 17:08Speaker 1: at least he has experience on a pretty high level. Obviously,
- 17:12Speaker 1: we know, you know Hergovic got knocked out too, right.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I do remember saying looking like he was gonna stop him,
- 17:22Speaker 1: but you know, saying not necessarily and always the best shape.
- 17:28Speaker 1: You know, I kind of fell apart on him. But
- 17:31Speaker 1: I think it's an interesting matchup and it definitely means
- 17:36Speaker 1: a fair amount to the winner, that's for sure. Raymond
- 17:42Speaker 1: Ford and Abraham Nova stylistically, that's gonna be a good fight.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You know, Nova is the replacement. So like, like I said,
- 17:53Speaker 1: the inner card, it's pretty good. I wouldn't like it's
- 17:59Speaker 1: not great. But you know, Turkey in some of these
- 18:03Speaker 1: cards have set the bar so high that you look
- 18:06Speaker 1: at this one and you say, I mean it's good.
- 18:08Speaker 1: It's not bad obviously for its former opponent. You know,
- 18:16Speaker 1: he was a much closer, you know fight. Whereas I
- 18:19Speaker 1: think it's like plus over plus five hundred for a while.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I haven't looked at it for Novo, but you know
- 18:25Speaker 1: that's been a it's pretty wide margin. But Nova's a
- 18:29Speaker 1: solid fighter. I don't want to take any from him,
- 18:32Speaker 1: you know, Goodman. Let me look at it right now.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I'm going to a proboxingodds dot com plus three fifty
- 18:40Speaker 1: plus three three thirty plus three three three plus three forty.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I do see a plus four hundred at Betway. So
- 18:48Speaker 1: if you're if you like Goodman, I would either go
- 18:52Speaker 1: to FanDuel or I would go to bet Way if
- 18:54Speaker 1: you can plus three seventy Goodman. Well, he's a good
- 19:00Speaker 1: he's a good fighter, right, He is a good fighter,
- 19:04Speaker 1: and so I do think that he can. You know,
- 19:08Speaker 1: Nick Ball is not unbeatable. His style it's fun to watch,
- 19:13Speaker 1: uh you know, such a short do what is he
- 19:16Speaker 1: like five two five three something like that. But he
- 19:19Speaker 1: had that tight fight with ray Vargas. But well in
- 19:23Speaker 1: the Raymond Ford, you know, many people thought Ford snuck
- 19:26Speaker 1: it out, which I'd be okay with that. Uh if
- 19:32Speaker 1: that's if that's what you think, I think that too.
- 19:34Speaker 1: But good minute is he is a good fighter, you know,
- 19:41Speaker 1: and he doesn't have a whole lot of power, right,
- 19:45Speaker 1: so I think that is an issue. And you know,
- 19:50Speaker 1: I mean the Aleam fight, you know that really like
- 19:55Speaker 1: he beat a T J Henny or do Henny and
- 20:01Speaker 1: then a lean right behind it. And I think it
- 20:03Speaker 1: was like maybe the fight after that with Flores, Miguel Flores.
- 20:07Speaker 1: You know. So guys that we know, you know he
- 20:13Speaker 1: is a good fighter. Like I think he's gonna put
- 20:16Speaker 1: up a good fight in Nick Ball's style. Like I said,
- 20:21Speaker 1: is has come forward and he's going to take some
- 20:25Speaker 1: punishment in there. That's just what's gonna happen. So like
- 20:30Speaker 1: I said, I think Goodman will put up a good fight.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I don't think he's gonna get stopped. I don't think
- 20:34Speaker 1: Ball is going to stop him. I just think overall
- 20:38Speaker 1: between the you know, the shots land into the body
- 20:42Speaker 1: and the head, just the overall work once he gets inside.
- 20:47Speaker 1: He's just effective at what he does. And I think
- 20:51Speaker 1: it takes a certain stylistic matchup to beat him. And
- 21:00Speaker 1: you know, we'll see if Goodman has that stylistic matchup.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Can he use some of that height to his advantage?
- 21:06Speaker 1: Can he keep you know, the bulldog ball off of them.
- 21:11Speaker 1: And it's more like just he wears you down and
- 21:14Speaker 1: he just keeps coming and coming, and so I think, yeah,
- 21:18Speaker 1: I think that as far as the undercard fights, that
- 21:20Speaker 1: probably will be the most entertaining while being really like
- 21:25Speaker 1: fairly competitive. I could see Ford and Nova being like
- 21:31Speaker 1: just a fun fight. But I also see Ford, you know,
- 21:35Speaker 1: pretty much stepping on the gas, separating himself, you know
- 21:43Speaker 1: what I mean. Nova, you know, definitely solid. Like I said,
- 21:50Speaker 1: took a couple losses. I think he had a draw
- 21:53Speaker 1: in there too, but I know he took back to
- 21:55Speaker 1: back losses against a shaky Foster and it was a
- 21:57Speaker 1: close fight tes as well. And you know, a while
- 22:05Speaker 1: while back, this is like, actually, let me check it
- 22:08Speaker 1: probably was like let's see twenty twenty two, he did
- 22:14Speaker 1: lose to rob Si Ramerez. Follow it right back up
- 22:20Speaker 1: with you know, beating a good fighter and Adam Lopez.
- 22:26Speaker 1: I just think Ford's a better fighter, you know. But
- 22:29Speaker 1: but Nova, he's gonna put up a fight. So I
- 22:31Speaker 1: think I do think that we're gonna get entertainment. Like
- 22:35Speaker 1: I said, that's kind of the key. And you know,
- 22:37Speaker 1: let's be honest, if you're paying for a pay per view,
- 22:40Speaker 1: if you can get two out of those three fights
- 22:43Speaker 1: I just mentioned, be entertaining, then all of a sudden
- 22:47Speaker 1: he's the main event. You're like, all right, that was
- 22:48Speaker 1: pretty good night of fights, you know. But yeah, I
- 22:51Speaker 1: got her Hergevic winning too. I think he'll win by decision,
- 22:57Speaker 1: the jab, the right hand. I just it's not that
- 23:01Speaker 1: David Aileen isn't a good fighter, Like I said, it
- 23:04Speaker 1: seems like he's got some pop and all that right
- 23:08Speaker 1: and some power and you know, a fight ago, or
- 23:12Speaker 1: actually I think it was two fights ago he did
- 23:15Speaker 1: after that worldly loss, he did bounce back and beat
- 23:18Speaker 1: a fighter that some people were high on as a prospect.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I just think that Harkovic is just the straighter, sharper puncher.
- 23:31Speaker 1: You'll stick to his jab. Like I said, It's not
- 23:34Speaker 1: like he can't be hurt, right because we've seen it.
- 23:38Speaker 1: But and you know he's coming off a good performance too.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Herkovic is coming off a good performance earlier this year
- 23:52Speaker 1: after losing. You know, even though he hit Daniel Dubois.
- 23:54Speaker 1: We've talked about it a couple of times in the show.
- 23:56Speaker 1: He hit Daniel Dabla with so many damn right hands. Sorry,
- 24:03Speaker 1: I had to get a little low liquid break. So yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 1: like I said, I do think that you'll have entertainment.
- 24:16Speaker 1: But I don't. I mean, who has the best chance
- 24:22Speaker 1: of the upset well on the under card, I mean Goodman,
- 24:27Speaker 1: I'd say, I'd say Goodman is the guy who has
- 24:30Speaker 1: the best chance of the upset on the undercard in
- 24:34Speaker 1: the odds show that as well in the main event,
- 24:38Speaker 1: Million White, you know, Moses a Tommy Atomy Atama. You know,
- 24:49Speaker 1: if you look at the odds, it's it's wide for
- 24:52Speaker 1: good reason, Million White, I think it's lows this plus
- 24:56Speaker 1: five fifty. Vandel has him plus seven hundred. So I'll
- 25:01Speaker 1: say it again, if in fact you do think that
- 25:07Speaker 1: Moses is gonna get upset or really get tested here,
- 25:11Speaker 1: then you should go ahead and make your way to Fandle. Okay,
- 25:15Speaker 1: I'm not telling anybody to gamble. Well, I guess I am.
- 25:19Speaker 1: You know, do you? But yeah, I mean I don't know.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I just I like the fight matchup. Like I said,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I don't like it being on pay per view this
- 25:31Speaker 1: early in his career. For quite a while now, the
- 25:37Speaker 1: UK something we've discussed here a lot on the show.
- 25:43Speaker 1: The UK just keeps producing waldy heavyweights, whether they turn
- 25:47Speaker 1: out to be just solid B sides, whether it's like
- 25:51Speaker 1: Daniel du Bois, who looked like he kind of hit
- 25:54Speaker 1: his head on the ceiling, looked like he may not
- 25:57Speaker 1: have the dog in him right, And then all of
- 26:00Speaker 1: a sudden he showed plenty of dog and gave us
- 26:03Speaker 1: entertainment and even had some people thinking that he was
- 26:07Speaker 1: gonna beat music in that rematch. Now he had a
- 26:10Speaker 1: pre party instead of a post party. I don't think that, really,
- 26:15Speaker 1: in the end made that big of a difference. I
- 26:18Speaker 1: think he just got beat by a much better fighter.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Wells music. But you know, Moses Etama Etoma southpaw Right,
- 26:37Speaker 1: which is pretty tricky at heavyweight. You know, the hand
- 26:42Speaker 1: speed is there, the hand speed is there, and it's
- 26:48Speaker 1: not just throwing a rapid fire. It's more like very
- 26:52Speaker 1: accurate crisp like his timing and his ability to counter
- 27:00Speaker 1: within that exchange, not just the counters we think of
- 27:05Speaker 1: as just a guy on the outside. He ducks a shot,
- 27:08Speaker 1: he counters back. Hey, that's that's good too, right, that's great.
- 27:11Speaker 1: But this dude will be like right there in front
- 27:17Speaker 1: of his guy and he measures stuff really well. You
- 27:21Speaker 1: can tell, so that that ability to counter with the
- 27:24Speaker 1: timing power in both hands to it, it appears, you know,
- 27:30Speaker 1: he's got a really good jab. It can be a
- 27:32Speaker 1: damaging jab. It can set up the next shot behind
- 27:34Speaker 1: it the left hand, those short hooks that he throws
- 27:38Speaker 1: the upper cut as well, and he doesn't throw that
- 27:42Speaker 1: uppercut from halfway across the ring. So I mean, as
- 27:49Speaker 1: a heavyweight prospect man, he looks like he's got everything
- 27:54Speaker 1: you need. And obviously we gotta find out the stanama.
- 28:00Speaker 1: We got to find out the chin, We got to
- 28:02Speaker 1: find out the heart and all that stuff. Wouldn't that
- 28:04Speaker 1: will we find it here? I don't know White. You know,
- 28:12Speaker 1: I've heard some people talk about, you know, that first
- 28:16Speaker 1: fight with Aj way back at the day right where
- 28:18Speaker 1: you heard him and he was like, all right, that
- 28:20Speaker 1: really helped Aj in many ways. Now you could also say, well,
- 28:25Speaker 1: ultimately we found something in that fight, but he also
- 28:30Speaker 1: got hurt and then fought back really well. And he
- 28:32Speaker 1: did that in other fights too, like that Klitchko fight.
- 28:39Speaker 1: And you know, White is good at what he does,
- 28:46Speaker 1: and he's been a contender level and fighting on the
- 28:52Speaker 1: high level. As far as competing on that high level,
- 28:58Speaker 1: you know, against the good fighters. Man, you know, he's
- 29:03Speaker 1: he's a guy that never quite reached the top. Of course,
- 29:08Speaker 1: but he's a really good fighter man, and if he
- 29:11Speaker 1: can weather that early storm, like I mentioned, if he
- 29:15Speaker 1: can get through the first handfull of rounds, and then
- 29:19Speaker 1: as it goes on, as it gets later, we seem
- 29:23Speaker 1: doing white at times, you know, looked like he was
- 29:28Speaker 1: in trouble, right, looking like, oh dude, this is not
- 29:33Speaker 1: going to end well, you know, and then he just
- 29:35Speaker 1: you know, he just goes off. So I mean, clearly
- 29:43Speaker 1: the age factor, you know, it's not ideal. Right, every time,
- 29:50Speaker 1: every time he's been beat, he has been knocked out. Right,
- 29:54Speaker 1: Anthony Joshua got him after having really good moments, you know,
- 30:02Speaker 1: the facking got him, and then of course Feary got him,
- 30:08Speaker 1: and you know, he he had a really like I
- 30:13Speaker 1: want to say it was either actually I don't think
- 30:16Speaker 1: it was a split. I think it was a majority.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I should check with h. Jermaine Franklin went ten rounds
- 30:23Speaker 1: with him, took on a Christian Hamo, you know, the
- 30:28Speaker 1: last two fights whatever really since that fight, you know,
- 30:33Speaker 1: he did fight the same year twenty twenty two, after
- 30:36Speaker 1: he got knocked out by Fury, but then you know,
- 30:40Speaker 1: there was a long break. He thought he managed to
- 30:43Speaker 1: fight twice this will be his you know, his his
- 30:48Speaker 1: first fight in a long time. But you know, how
- 30:52Speaker 1: much does he have left? Like if he does come
- 30:57Speaker 1: in in pretty good shape, that's the thing, Like at
- 31:00Speaker 1: this level or at this time of his career, with
- 31:05Speaker 1: the money he's probably gonna make on this one. Is it?
- 31:09Speaker 1: Is it like one foot I almost said the wrong thing,
- 31:14Speaker 1: one foot like in retirement and hey man, I can
- 31:19Speaker 1: make this money? Or is he? You know, I'm sure
- 31:22Speaker 1: he's gonna try to win the fight, right because if
- 31:25Speaker 1: he does beat Moses, it just rejuvenates his career, like majorly.
- 31:33Speaker 1: So I think there is something to do with that mindset.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Moses is a big dude though, right, got a long reach,
- 31:44Speaker 1: and you know, I do want to see him, you know,
- 31:52Speaker 1: go rounds. I want to see him against an experienced fighter,
- 31:59Speaker 1: you know, go go four rounds man, because he I mean,
- 32:02Speaker 1: that's the one thing he has one fight that one
- 32:04Speaker 1: or no, was it one or two? I think it's two. Yeah,
- 32:08Speaker 1: I think it's two fights that went the sixth round distance.
- 32:10Speaker 1: But once he hit the eight rounder, I mean I'm
- 32:14Speaker 1: looking at it right now. After the sixth rounder in
- 32:16Speaker 1: twenty twenty three, in the summer first round, knockout, first round, knockout,
- 32:20Speaker 1: first round, knockout, first round, knockout, second second, first second,
- 32:25Speaker 1: and he did have walk in there, you had McKean.
- 32:30Speaker 1: You know, I like the way he's taken out guys.
- 32:35Speaker 1: But you know that's what I'm saying about going deeper
- 32:38Speaker 1: in the fight. And it is a ten rounder, it's
- 32:43Speaker 1: not a twelve, you know, not a twelve, so that
- 32:46Speaker 1: that helps. But yeah, I just would love to see pass,
- 32:54Speaker 1: say the fourth or fifth round, because Dillian White has
- 32:58Speaker 1: this this lone nine to him where he can recover
- 33:04Speaker 1: and then start winning rounds again. Now, ultimately, I think
- 33:10Speaker 1: the handspeed, the fresher fighter, the more accurate puncher, all
- 33:15Speaker 1: that stuff that I mentioned, I wouldn't doubt if he
- 33:18Speaker 1: knocks him out. Am I one call him for a knockout?
- 33:23Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean I would say, from let's say,
- 33:27Speaker 1: round the rounds three to five, I would probably say
- 33:33Speaker 1: that might be the best chance of the knockout. Now,
- 33:37Speaker 1: I gotta see him on the scale, Dillion White, to
- 33:41Speaker 1: see exactly how serious he's taking this fight, right. I mean,
- 33:47Speaker 1: you know I'm not just gonna be like, oh no,
- 33:49Speaker 1: that's good. You know that that plays into my thought
- 33:54Speaker 1: process obviously, but something tells me if Dylan White's in shape,
- 34:03Speaker 1: like fighting trying to win shape, and I think it
- 34:06Speaker 1: could go the distance. I think it's got a chance
- 34:09Speaker 1: to go to the distance. But yeah, I think it's
- 34:15Speaker 1: a good fight at this stage. Obviously, you know Etamo
- 34:22Speaker 1: doesn't have a lot of fights, right, and this is,
- 34:24Speaker 1: like I said, by far his best opponent. So I'm
- 34:28Speaker 1: gonna say knockout. What's this thirteen fight or something like that.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna say knockout, but I'm gonna kind of leave
- 34:35Speaker 1: the door open for like, well maybe you know, maybe
- 34:39Speaker 1: if it gets past the fifth round. Then if it
- 34:42Speaker 1: gets past the fifth round, I feel pretty good that
- 34:44Speaker 1: it'll that it'll go ten. I think that helps, that
- 34:49Speaker 1: it's only ten rounds. I know you can make you know,
- 34:51Speaker 1: i'd say Delian White, it helps potentially, But you could
- 34:54Speaker 1: also say, you know, Moses, because let's say he's showing
- 34:58Speaker 1: signs in the eighth and ain't the getting tired. Well,
- 35:01Speaker 1: you know that would be to have to go those
- 35:08Speaker 1: couple more rounds that would be a big deal. So overall,
- 35:11Speaker 1: I have Moses winning. I'm pretty sure by knockout, but
- 35:19Speaker 1: just as a guy who wants to like as a fan,
- 35:21Speaker 1: I would love this, Like if he knocks him out
- 35:24Speaker 1: in three rounds, it's a statement, and I think that's
- 35:28Speaker 1: beneficial too. But I would like some good quality rounds
- 35:35Speaker 1: for him. And you know the thing is if he
- 35:41Speaker 1: knocks him out early, they may step them up too much.
- 35:44Speaker 1: You never know. You know a lot of people already
- 35:47Speaker 1: call him for the Usik fight, and it's like, slow down, dude.
- 35:50Speaker 1: And some of these people call him for the Usik
- 35:52Speaker 1: fight are the ones that say Usik's like the second
- 35:54Speaker 1: best heavyweight of all time. It's like, dog, do you
- 35:57Speaker 1: understand what you're saying? Then if you think he in
- 36:00Speaker 1: the top five heavyweight of all time, what in the
- 36:03Speaker 1: fuck are you putting my guy Moses into this for?
- 36:08Speaker 1: It's not ducking. Everybody gets moved at a different, you
- 36:12Speaker 1: know pace. Anyway, I think it's a really good card,
- 36:19Speaker 1: but like I said, for it to be is it
- 36:22Speaker 1: fifty dollars here? I think it is? Or is it sixty?
- 36:26Speaker 1: I think it's sixty here. I can't remember. But to
- 36:31Speaker 1: have it on pay per view, it just doesn't make
- 36:34Speaker 1: any fucking sense, man, It really doesn't. And we'll talk
- 36:40Speaker 1: a little bit how Turkey's kind of going back and
- 36:43Speaker 1: forth with this paper stuff, you know. But the kicker
- 36:47Speaker 1: for the zone, you just you see these things. They
- 36:50Speaker 1: got an offer for new customers if you basically do
- 36:57Speaker 1: the annual plan, so you pay for a year zone,
- 37:01Speaker 1: you don't have to pay for the pay per view.
- 37:05Speaker 1: And hey, you know, I understand trying to get new customers, right,
- 37:12Speaker 1: I get it, but like, how about the fucking people
- 37:15Speaker 1: that have been subscribed to you for boxing since like
- 37:19Speaker 1: late twenty eighteen? Was it September, September October? I can't remember,
- 37:24Speaker 1: But like, what about why don't like, why don't you
- 37:28Speaker 1: give us a break? I don't I don't understand it.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I don't understand why you wouldn't be giving us a break. Dude,
- 37:36Speaker 1: you know that. It just it throws me off. It
- 37:39Speaker 1: throws me off a little bit. I don't know. But yeah,
- 37:45Speaker 1: that was sick stuff. I just pretty much, no matter
- 37:51Speaker 1: what happens this week, I'm not gonna sit there and
- 37:54Speaker 1: be like, yeah, bro, we' six next man, you know,
- 37:58Speaker 1: put it's a hit list. Bro, he's got a hit list,
- 38:01Speaker 1: you know? And I did hear? Buddy McGirt has said
- 38:05Speaker 1: it in a couple of interviews that you know, basically,
- 38:11Speaker 1: let's get you know, let's get get past the first
- 38:13Speaker 1: couple of rounds and then we'll drown them. I saw
- 38:19Speaker 1: a post the other day, one hundred and sixty seven
- 38:23Speaker 1: more rounds h for billion or for yeah, for million White.
- 38:29Speaker 1: That's a lot more rounds, man, it really is. So
- 38:36Speaker 1: he's gonna bring a lot of that experience into the ring. Man.
- 38:40Speaker 1: But even even in this this tweet, it's like August sixteenth,
- 38:46Speaker 1: live on his own? Oh is it it's live on
- 38:49Speaker 1: his zone? Or is it? Is it more than live
- 38:52Speaker 1: on his own? Because to me, it's not on it's
- 38:55Speaker 1: on his own only you know, but that just they
- 39:01Speaker 1: they they're pr is just it's I gotta admit it's garbage, dude.
- 39:05Speaker 1: And here's another thing. So we'll talk a little bit
- 39:08Speaker 1: about the u UFC. But Shapiro was quoted saying the
- 39:17Speaker 1: pay per view model is a thing of the past.
- 39:20Speaker 1: What's on pay per view anymore? Boxing movies on direct TV,
- 39:24Speaker 1: it's outdated, blah blah blah. So it's paramount to us
- 39:30Speaker 1: to you know, switch it up, and you know, whether
- 39:37Speaker 1: that gets the amount of subscribers to paramount obviously if
- 39:42Speaker 1: they can, if some of the events or most of
- 39:46Speaker 1: the events or whatever get broadcasted on CBS, that's major.
- 39:50Speaker 1: That is major. But Dana already said that it doesn't
- 39:57Speaker 1: mean payviews all the way. Did We're just gonna cut
- 39:59Speaker 1: back on them way, you know, like there's a chance.
- 40:02Speaker 1: But overall my point is then you had Turkey quote
- 40:06Speaker 1: tweeting this thing, right, my brother Mark Schapiro. Great to see.
- 40:10Speaker 1: We have the same we share the same vision for
- 40:13Speaker 1: fights and how our fans consumed them. As I said
- 40:17Speaker 1: one month ago with his own pay per view is
- 40:19Speaker 1: a broken model and must we must offer the boxing events,
- 40:24Speaker 1: boxing events to fight fans at no additional cost. Now
- 40:28Speaker 1: you know, I gotta admit like as a as a
- 40:31Speaker 1: part time media member and a longtime boxing fan. What
- 40:35Speaker 1: the fuck? Dude? First of all, you're the one who
- 40:40Speaker 1: saturated the pay per view market since you've been here. Okay,
- 40:45Speaker 1: what what was it? So? Did he come in December?
- 40:50Speaker 1: Was it that right around that Christmas stuff? Was it
- 40:54Speaker 1: December twenty twenty three that he came? Pop? Pause? And
- 41:01Speaker 1: it's been not only one that Ramier's card, only one
- 41:05Speaker 1: was no pay per view and you had you know,
- 41:09Speaker 1: three in a week, right, you had two in a
- 41:14Speaker 1: week's time. You've done that now, you know, and you
- 41:19Speaker 1: throw in that other pay per view from PBC. That was,
- 41:22Speaker 1: like we talked before, that was the second time in
- 41:24Speaker 1: a half a year that we had three pay per views,
- 41:28Speaker 1: you know, in a matter of a week. So and
- 41:32Speaker 1: five out of the six of them was the Zone. Now,
- 41:36Speaker 1: like I said, some of the fights he's made, man,
- 41:39Speaker 1: they've been phenomenal. Some of the full cards have been phenomenal.
- 41:43Speaker 1: But if you have this phenomenal product, you want people
- 41:46Speaker 1: to see the fucking product, right, and so pay per
- 41:53Speaker 1: views are broken model. But it's on pay per view
- 41:55Speaker 1: this weekend. And then the you know, with no additional cost.
- 42:05Speaker 1: What did you fucking said? And then disowned the next day,
- 42:09Speaker 1: said that there's gonna be an additional we're messing around
- 42:13Speaker 1: with a price, and you know, so so if you
- 42:16Speaker 1: pay an extra second fee, a second payment, you'll get
- 42:22Speaker 1: all the pay per views, which tells you at this
- 42:25Speaker 1: time anyway they plan on doing the pay per views still.
- 42:29Speaker 1: So it's like and then remember he had the tear system,
- 42:34Speaker 1: Turkey was talking about a plus BC. You'd never fucking
- 42:40Speaker 1: you know, label your shit a see. But anyway that
- 42:45Speaker 1: that shit does hurt me because it's like, come on, dog,
- 42:49Speaker 1: like what are we doing here? Man? Yeah, man, the
- 42:51Speaker 1: model it's it's horrible, It's horrible. But buy the pay
- 42:54Speaker 1: view this weekend, you know, like like I don't know,
- 42:58Speaker 1: it just it makes no sense to me. But anyway,
- 43:04Speaker 1: just doing a little follow up because I got a
- 43:07Speaker 1: variety of messages over these last two weeks about the
- 43:11Speaker 1: Aliac stuff and in my thoughts on Monopoly and and
- 43:15Speaker 1: you know, all this stuff Monopoly not on the board game, okay,
- 43:19Speaker 1: but monopolizing the sport and whether it's been on the
- 43:23Speaker 1: podcast talking segments or we talked about it. You know,
- 43:27Speaker 1: I've talked about it plenty of times on you know,
- 43:29Speaker 1: different spaces on Twitter, like the Idea like I met,
- 43:36Speaker 1: I don't know, like the UBO. As I mentioned, this
- 43:42Speaker 1: bill is is a t KO bill, right, obviously it's
- 43:49Speaker 1: a and if you're gonna get this ship pass, it
- 43:51Speaker 1: already has bipartisan support for the actual bill. And a
- 43:56Speaker 1: lot of the positive stuff is window dressing. A lot
- 44:02Speaker 1: of it is if you look at you know, if
- 44:06Speaker 1: you look at like a difference between you know, twenty
- 44:09Speaker 1: to twenty five thousand dollars. We talked about, you know,
- 44:13Speaker 1: the mandate per round when many states are already paying
- 44:17Speaker 1: that end more so, it's not like that it's all negative.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Right to make a federal law, that's cool, But if
- 44:24Speaker 1: you're gonna, if you're gonna actually change boxing, you could
- 44:29Speaker 1: monopolize it and change it at the same time. And
- 44:34Speaker 1: so like to be a UBO, you have to have
- 44:37Speaker 1: your own training facility. Well, and they're expanding that training
- 44:41Speaker 1: facility by the way, and you know, they can do
- 44:43Speaker 1: whatever the fuck they want. That's great, but you know,
- 44:46Speaker 1: like it's just a huge head start, and it will
- 44:50Speaker 1: affect smaller promoters. It just will. We saw what happened
- 44:55Speaker 1: in New York. It just will so. And still like
- 45:01Speaker 1: the USC pays like right around twenty I've heard anywhere
- 45:05Speaker 1: from you know, sixteen to eighteen to twenty percent of
- 45:09Speaker 1: the revenue. And now this new revenue Dana White talks about,
- 45:12Speaker 1: you know, the pay is going to go up a
- 45:16Speaker 1: percentage wise, the pay for fighters is going up. Well, yeah,
- 45:20Speaker 1: you just signed a monster deal. We'll CBS make enough
- 45:24Speaker 1: money on that deal. We'll find out. But the point
- 45:27Speaker 1: is so, of course the finances are going to go up,
- 45:32Speaker 1: but percentage wise it may it may go down of
- 45:37Speaker 1: the revenue for the fighters. And my thing with Dana
- 45:44Speaker 1: is he always talks about how you know, he's basically
- 45:46Speaker 1: a sports franchise, right, and he talks all this shit. Okay, cool,
- 45:50Speaker 1: then why don't you pay like these other leagues pay,
- 45:55Speaker 1: like the NFL, like the NBA at least get it
- 45:58Speaker 1: to sixty five or some shit. But my thing is,
- 46:03Speaker 1: I was just being honest on the ALI Act. It
- 46:06Speaker 1: is very beneficial, it has been. But how many cases
- 46:11Speaker 1: have has been brought under the ALI Act? That's just
- 46:18Speaker 1: there's certain facts, you know, like like I said, power negotiation,
- 46:23Speaker 1: power to litigate. There's a lot of positive things with
- 46:26Speaker 1: the ALI Act, and from my viewpoint that that's intact.
- 46:32Speaker 1: But to do just the TKO thing, you know, I
- 46:37Speaker 1: think a lot of it is window dressing. My whole
- 46:39Speaker 1: point of the monopolizing everything, like pay off all the
- 46:43Speaker 1: belts and just make it the WBC or whatever the
- 46:46Speaker 1: fuck right, just pay them off. Just pay them off.
- 46:53Speaker 1: And if you don't want to do that, then you're
- 46:55Speaker 1: gonna have to. Like how my thing is, isn't it
- 46:58Speaker 1: gonna just be another belt? Then? I mean it kind
- 47:03Speaker 1: of will be another belt if they just have the Okay,
- 47:06Speaker 1: they get permission to get another belt. Okay, cool, But
- 47:11Speaker 1: like when they say we're gonna have rankings and then
- 47:13Speaker 1: we're gonna have the top five, you know, we're gonna
- 47:16Speaker 1: have our rankings and they're gonna all fight each other,
- 47:18Speaker 1: so we'll know who's the best, you mean, know who
- 47:20Speaker 1: the best out of your rankings. Well, who's making the rankings.
- 47:24Speaker 1: And if it's the ring, then you'd have to have
- 47:27Speaker 1: all the fighters or at least be willing to work
- 47:30Speaker 1: with all the fighters and promoters. And you've shown in
- 47:35Speaker 1: the UFC you're not willing to cross promote unless it's
- 47:40Speaker 1: Floyd Mayweather or something like that, you know, but overall
- 47:42Speaker 1: they're not. So my thing is if you bought up
- 47:46Speaker 1: all the main boxing outfits PBC included management, right, then
- 47:54Speaker 1: then the contracts you'd have, you know, you have control
- 47:58Speaker 1: of the fighter right in that sense, But it doesn't
- 48:02Speaker 1: mean every like it does. I don't mean it by
- 48:09Speaker 1: Al couldn't still do his thing. These people can't do
- 48:12Speaker 1: their thing. The matchmakers are top rank developing prospects, couldn't
- 48:16Speaker 1: do their thing, you know, I don't. But then maybe
- 48:19Speaker 1: top rank would risk more of their fighters against each
- 48:22Speaker 1: other if they've already been paid off, And it's not
- 48:25Speaker 1: so much it's just a competition to who can make
- 48:28Speaker 1: the best fights, not so much because profit at their
- 48:32Speaker 1: point isn't as much of an incentive if they've already
- 48:35Speaker 1: been paid off for the company. So I'm not saying
- 48:40Speaker 1: every single individual at all these companies would be would
- 48:46Speaker 1: stay hired or and maybe they'd take the money and dip,
- 48:50Speaker 1: you know, but so they can still operate. All these
- 48:54Speaker 1: people that work out all these companies could still operate,
- 48:57Speaker 1: you know, their company. They could still run their company.
- 49:00Speaker 1: When I say monopoly, when I monopoly, when I say that,
- 49:03Speaker 1: like when I say merger, it's like a big ass merger.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Like mergers, they don't fire every single person. So that's
- 49:12Speaker 1: all I'm saying. It's the only way you're going to
- 49:14Speaker 1: get everybody on board, or you just do what you're
- 49:17Speaker 1: doing what Turkey's is already doing with Sadi money, where
- 49:21Speaker 1: you're you're you're getting four different five different you know representatives,
- 49:28Speaker 1: fighters that you know are under that promotional bat management whatever,
- 49:33Speaker 1: and you're putting them all on a card, and so
- 49:35Speaker 1: that that has a lot of positivities obviously, right, and
- 49:40Speaker 1: so you can just do it that way and have
- 49:42Speaker 1: you know, data promote a lot of the shelves and
- 49:50Speaker 1: we'll see, you know. Speaking of the UFC Paramount CBS
- 49:55Speaker 1: deal from the sound A, Dana told the Sports Journal
- 50:02Speaker 1: that Sports Business Journal that he that the boxing deal
- 50:07Speaker 1: is already done, like I mentioned, though I've heard some
- 50:09Speaker 1: other people say it's not done yet, but he said
- 50:12Speaker 1: it was done for twenty sixteen. And we'll see. Is
- 50:15Speaker 1: it on ESPN or like I mentioned, ESPN or whatever,
- 50:18Speaker 1: maybe Paramount. I don't know, but like how many cards
- 50:22Speaker 1: per year is he going to do? You know? And
- 50:25Speaker 1: if it's one a month, then maybe next year it
- 50:33Speaker 1: would just turn into these type of Saudi cards and
- 50:36Speaker 1: ring cards would just be ran by Dana, you know.
- 50:40Speaker 1: And so if they keep doing that, and then you know,
- 50:46Speaker 1: like the powers that he have to compete against that
- 50:51Speaker 1: that could be a natural positive thing that happens. But
- 50:58Speaker 1: if he if Dana, and it sounds like he said
- 51:00Speaker 1: it anyway, that he has a done deal for a
- 51:03Speaker 1: TV or a platform, I shouldn't say TV, but that's
- 51:09Speaker 1: a positive. And when I've talked about you know, people
- 51:14Speaker 1: have said, oh, time bys that didn't work for PBC. Dude,
- 51:18Speaker 1: First of all, you have seated a time by. The
- 51:21Speaker 1: Second of all, the time bys did work, because what
- 51:26Speaker 1: you meant to say is the Fox deal ultimately didn't work.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Now there's reasons why it didn't work, Okay, more than one,
- 51:33Speaker 1: but the time buys did deliver a deal on Network
- 51:39Speaker 1: and the Fox and FS one, so to say that
- 51:41Speaker 1: it didn't work, that's just not true. And my whole
- 51:45Speaker 1: point is it's like, you know, like when Hayman got
- 51:53Speaker 1: the investment money, that shit was all over the place,
- 51:58Speaker 1: and some would argue too many any different outlets, right, sure,
- 52:01Speaker 1: get a little confused, but like he had it on.
- 52:05Speaker 1: He had ratings that we hadn't seen in a long
- 52:08Speaker 1: long time. Whereas, okay, go ahead and say these fights
- 52:13Speaker 1: were some of these fights have been better at cards.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Let's say full cards have been better. Cool, But who
- 52:19Speaker 1: the fuck's so it ain't growing shit, It's not growing
- 52:22Speaker 1: this sport. So you know, I just think that doing
- 52:27Speaker 1: a time by or And I also mentioned people got
- 52:31Speaker 1: stuck up on that they got hung up on the
- 52:33Speaker 1: time by word words. I suppose those are two. But
- 52:37Speaker 1: I also said you could take a small licensing fee
- 52:41Speaker 1: if you want revenue. Obviously he wants some revenue coming
- 52:44Speaker 1: in because the pay view does create some revenue. The
- 52:48Speaker 1: gate does create some revenue. Clearly not you're not gonna
- 52:51Speaker 1: break even, right, So you could if you had all
- 52:55Speaker 1: these fucking fights and said, hey man, we'll just take
- 52:57Speaker 1: a little licensing fee, you could get a deal. You
- 53:02Speaker 1: can get a deal. You're not gonna get a deal
- 53:03Speaker 1: with UFC just did and nowhere are close to it,
- 53:06Speaker 1: but you could, good it, get a deal if you
- 53:09Speaker 1: if you aim kind of low, because you're you're aiming
- 53:12Speaker 1: low with this anyway, like you're aiming high for the fights,
- 53:16Speaker 1: but low for who the exposure, who's seeing it? So
- 53:21Speaker 1: why not not? Okay? Maybe you don't have as much
- 53:24Speaker 1: revenue coming in and I say revenue, not profit revenue. Okay, cool,
- 53:29Speaker 1: but you know in the long run it'll probably help you.
- 53:32Speaker 1: And so maybe what is it ten million dollars a year?
- 53:37Speaker 1: Is it? It is a year? Right, it's not forever
- 53:39Speaker 1: event man, Maybe I'm mixing that up. I think it's
- 53:43Speaker 1: just ten million dollar fee per year that Turkey's gonna
- 53:47Speaker 1: give to the USC. S of the UFC really doesn't
- 53:50Speaker 1: have a risk inness, so I just want to see
- 53:53Speaker 1: how it plays out. But yeah, there's some things that
- 53:56Speaker 1: I think are just window dressing when it comes to
- 53:59Speaker 1: the KO bill, and that's what it is, TKO bill.
- 54:03Speaker 1: It gives them a head start. But I want to
- 54:06Speaker 1: know the rankings, you know, I want to know how
- 54:09Speaker 1: you're going to organize this ship. And I said first
- 54:12Speaker 1: quite some time, and I understand, like you can still
- 54:16Speaker 1: have competition, but it's monopolized. You could still you know,
- 54:21Speaker 1: you can still have it within the you could still
- 54:24Speaker 1: have their rivalries and shit like that. And we saw
- 54:26Speaker 1: the you know, the Matchroom and Queensberry and you know,
- 54:32Speaker 1: we could still have that type of shit. Because if
- 54:37Speaker 1: they plan on doing so many cards t KO, which
- 54:42Speaker 1: I don't know their number, that could get that could
- 54:45Speaker 1: get tough too, because if you have so many, you know,
- 54:48Speaker 1: cards for UFC and then boxing and you know, I
- 54:52Speaker 1: don't know, man, but whatever it is, it can't be
- 54:55Speaker 1: on pay per view only because that's all he's done
- 54:58Speaker 1: besides one event. Then it can't be on just the
- 55:01Speaker 1: zone pay per view. It just it doesn't line up anyway.
- 55:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna move on. I'm getting kind of sick of that,
- 55:12Speaker 1: So do do oh boots ed us right Lima? You know,
- 55:22Speaker 1: Gray Johnson mentioned Lima's combined record of his last four
- 55:27Speaker 1: fights all wins, sixty six and one. But yeah, sure
- 55:31Speaker 1: he's a bad fighter. He said, we'll accept apologies when
- 55:35Speaker 1: he's standing after twelve. Like I said, you know, Karen
- 55:39Speaker 1: would twice. And he does have a good point there,
- 55:46Speaker 1: and I think it is important to keep that in perspective.
- 55:53Speaker 1: I do, I really do. Now, is there better opponents?
- 56:00Speaker 1: Yet's still not a huge step up at fifty four?
- 56:03Speaker 1: Yes there are. And when you look at who they
- 56:09Speaker 1: offered to, that kind of puts in perspective too. You know,
- 56:16Speaker 1: they ended up with this dude, I do box trick.
- 56:19Speaker 1: Gray has a good point, but in the same breath,
- 56:24Speaker 1: like they offered Abel Rams and I know he just
- 56:30Speaker 1: had a close fight with Barrios, But come on, dude,
- 56:32Speaker 1: we're not going to be like, but it was a
- 56:34Speaker 1: close fight with the champion. Okay, dude, but it's Barrios, dude,
- 56:38Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So it's like, so yeah,
- 56:46Speaker 1: that part of it is like, you know, so they
- 56:49Speaker 1: were offering other guys. They offered Rashidi Ellis you know,
- 56:55Speaker 1: so so if Rashidi got the call, people would be happier,
- 57:02Speaker 1: I would, I think Ayzeus Ramos, you know, people would
- 57:06Speaker 1: be happier. But I'm kind of right in between where
- 57:11Speaker 1: Gray is and where a lot of people are. Most people,
- 57:16Speaker 1: sometimes these type of opponents do overachieve, and before you
- 57:24Speaker 1: know it, if he does go twelve rounds then boots
- 57:27Speaker 1: his garbage, you know what I mean, people will be
- 57:28Speaker 1: saying that too. So it's a cherry pick. And then
- 57:31Speaker 1: the old cherry pick gone wrong. That shit makes me
- 57:34Speaker 1: laugh so much, like especially they always use that with
- 57:37Speaker 1: Wilder than Fury. Cherry pick gone wrong. Yeah, man, a
- 57:41Speaker 1: cherry pick gone wrong. But he signed a two fight
- 57:46Speaker 1: deal to fight him twice and went to court to
- 57:48Speaker 1: push it to get the third fight after getting his
- 57:53Speaker 1: ass whooped in the second one. But yeah, it's a
- 57:55Speaker 1: cherry pick, right, Like, get the fuck out of here
- 57:58Speaker 1: with that. But anyway, so yeah, I mean they were
- 58:03Speaker 1: so adamant about like, we can't make forty seven anymore, right,
- 58:09Speaker 1: and hey, when he did step up the Stanionius, he
- 58:12Speaker 1: fucked him up. Dude, he played like boots. That's his
- 58:14Speaker 1: best fight. He looked great in that fight. Now you
- 58:17Speaker 1: could say stylistically he's mostly gonna look that way. We'll
- 58:21Speaker 1: see if that type of style at the larger weight,
- 58:25Speaker 1: you know, affects him or not. We'll see. But clearly
- 58:28Speaker 1: he feels like he's got to get his feet wet.
- 58:31Speaker 1: And this isn't by the way, this boots thing. It's
- 58:34Speaker 1: not the first guy to go up and get your
- 58:36Speaker 1: feet wet, as long as the next fight is legit.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Because he had two type fights, Karen was competitive in
- 58:45Speaker 1: the second one because of well, I mean more competitive,
- 58:48Speaker 1: like he wanted to try to win, not just like
- 58:52Speaker 1: the first fight where he was very you know, very
- 58:57Speaker 1: not aggressive and non aggressive at all. So but the
- 59:02Speaker 1: part I so, if it's Virgil or Artie's next, cool,
- 59:05Speaker 1: But when you have Eddie Hearn talking about we've agreed
- 59:10Speaker 1: to our side, you know, and I just hope that
- 59:16Speaker 1: Virtual steps up, you know, and then you see, you know,
- 59:20Speaker 1: Artist Senior can be all over the place. He's not
- 59:23Speaker 1: this super trusted source like like he said, he said, uh,
- 59:32Speaker 1: I didn't know Eddie Hearn was Virtual's manager and told
- 59:36Speaker 1: him when he fights, I haven't heard anything, you know, basically,
- 59:41Speaker 1: we haven't been offered YadA YadA, YadA. Right, And because
- 59:46Speaker 1: they say that it's signed for January February matchum Golden
- 59:53Speaker 1: Boy card and it's signed on his side, but not
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: on the virtual side. And so when you public already
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: with this public negotiation, shit, it's just why don't you
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: say that, Why don't you have them turned down the
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: fight and be like, hey man, we signed our side,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: but do it after, like, don't do the public because
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: when you do public negotiations, a lot of times it
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: just makes you and your fighter look bad. Even though
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: it feels like sometimes I'm not saying this is the case,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: but a lot of times you're trying to get ahead
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: of something, and so you're gonna play the media and
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: get ahead of something. So I'm just not a big
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: fan of that. Dude, when it's all said and done
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: and that fight didn't get signed, if that's the case,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: then come out and say, hey, dude, we did our
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: apart man, we signed off for whatever reason, they didn't
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: do it yet yet, talk to shit then, but don't
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: do it while it's they haven't. I hope they off, okay,
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: but dude, it's it's just I don't know, but hopefully
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: that is the next fight, because you know, you definitely
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: can't keep serving this opponent. You know, there there's talk
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: about him wanting two tune ups at fifty four. Well,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: if you cannot make forty seven anymore, then fifty four
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: should go good for you then, So why would you
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: need two fights? It's that that part's a little funky.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: I do have to admit that's that's a little funky. Now,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Babraham and ericson IBF Junior Middleweight title in a handful
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: of days. There's a purse bit August nineteenth. Let's see
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: what happens there. Maybe we'll hear about, you know, a
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: done deal. I don't know. Okay, So since we've been
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: away for that two week break, they've all got back surgery,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: and Better Beef is now on the undercard of Benavidez.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: And that's a slap in face because it's like, dude,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: you mean to tell me they could have just matched
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: up Better Beef, you know. So hopefully he's on the
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: card because of that, that that that's where they're going
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: to go. But I don't know, you know, if it clearly,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: he'd probably want to get the trilogy first before Benaedidez.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: So I don't know, but yeah, basically put out a
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: quote evolved in following my doctor's advice, I had to
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: undergo surgery for an older back injury, which I've been
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: dealing with for over ten years. But he kept getting
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: worse with each training cap six D eight we recovery period.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: So we'll see, we'll see where that goes. I don't know, man,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: It's like you were negotiating a fight. Remember they were
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: talking about what we wanted in Russia. Okay, but what
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: it's just like okay, but then again, if you're about
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: to get backstrat like, it's just it's just weird. It's
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: just fucking weird. It's just weird. That's just the bottom line, dude.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: And you know the turby of our next fight was
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: supposed to take place in Russia. You know what we're
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: talking what we're what we're talking about now the third
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: fight with Dmitri Bivol. We offered great conditions, which by
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: the way, that turnaround fight was delivered for Beval not
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: for better be it than the third fight. So he
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: wants to keep fighting, right and so but I honestly,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: if the ball wants to fight, then they'll probably just
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: fight him now if there's an in between fight, because
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: then they Eddie talks about, oh we might go fight
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: a you know, up a cruiserweight, Okay, what you know.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Like so, I don't know, but it sucks. It sucks
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: for Benavidez. And you know, if if Benevitez like was
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: not with Al Hayman, he would be getting that glove contreatment.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Nobody wants to fight you. Everybody scared you're better than Hagler,
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: you know, all that shit, and it's just and I'm
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: not saying he's better than that, but clearly he's getting
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: fucked right now, you know. And and it happens. It
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: happens to boxers. It is what it is. At least
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: he said, hey, Turkey, I'll take the one off. I'll
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: come I'll come there and i'll do my thing. I'll
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: fight for you. But I'm not going to sign a
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: multi fight deal just to not get these fucking fights,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: you know. So I think it's a smart move not
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: to long term locket unless you know the fights already signed,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: you're gonna get that fight. I've been one of the many,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: you know, not many US podcasts have said it's worth
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: it for him to go over there and get it
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: if in fact the fight signed you know, and then
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: there's a three year or three fight deal or something. Well,
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: it'd be different if he's if the first fight is that,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: you know, not just randomly sign a deal where you're
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: not going to get the fight. But yeah, it's just
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: it's just fucked up. It's fucked up Manny Pacyao. According
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: to brunch Boxing, I just saw this here, no not
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: a long not a long time ago and announced that
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: he's gonna be back in the ring in December. They
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: mentioned in the post here brunch Boxing that jermon To Davis,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Roley Romero, Mario Borrows and even Mayweather are on the table,
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: but you know, I doubt that part and he is now.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: The WBC made him the number one contender. You bank
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: Junior and Ben rematch November fifteenth, unfinished business. That's an
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: original one. But either way, yeah, why not? Why not?
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: I like that it's in the UK, that's where it belongs,
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: So I think that's pretty cool exposing boxing myths. We're
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: gonna mix in boxing Twitter in fight News, Boots versus
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: Virgil next February with no title on the line would
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: be disappointing. One of them needs to pick up a
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: belt before the fight. Not that it takes away anything
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: from the fight, but it just seems wrong. Well, which
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: one the fuck is it? Like? Will that take any
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: fight away from me? Will that take any hype away
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: from me? No? It will not. It definitely will not.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: So whatever. I also saw this Prince not seen. There's
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: a movie about him coming out in the first quarter
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: twenty twenty six. Kind of interested in Matt that's pretty cool,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: you know. Tyson Fury has been talking about that. He's
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: you know, he's coming back, gonna come back, gonna come back.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Now he's like, you know, never coming back. It's for
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: real this time. It's young man's game. Said he's done
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: no trilogy fight with Usik. I wish that. I hope
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: that's it. Hope he just shuts it down. I think
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: that'd be great. You know, that would be great. That's
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: what I'm hoping. But we'll see. Someone asked me, did
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: I see so this is Lord? This is Lord? Fly
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: shouts out to the Lord. This is a screenshot of him.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I could tell fight of your candidate. Oh yeah, on
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: the esp At de Portes Canda Zalez. Yeah, it wasn't
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: a long fight, but that shit was a banger. That
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: shit was a banger, Ryan Garcia Oscar, you know, back
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: and forth, back and forth, we go. I did see
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: another one on brunch Boxing one of their posts saying
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Ziez had accepted a February twenty second bout with Virtual Artis,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: but Ortiz chose the safer route in mandra Mouth, which
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: I don't think is a safer route because you could
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: say that was the harder route, just based off you know,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: him fighting Crawford, you know, and what he did in
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: that fight. Oh, Keshan Davis said that. He said something
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: like he's basically done with boxing or whatever. But I
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: also saw him on the Aerial Show saying he hasn't
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: done any training in two months since missing weight, which
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: is kind of weird. Doesn't expect to fight again for
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: twelve months now. That's not a great sign based off
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: the deal with Top Rank. Maybe he's just trying to
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: put pressure on him and maybe they have a deal
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: and he doesn't like his arrangement. Maybe they don't have
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: a deal and he's like, hey, dude, something's got to give.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: I know he's under contract, but don't they have to
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: deliver certain amount of fights per year. I'd assume I
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: haven't read his contract, but I'd assume that's it there.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: So yeah, that's that's kind of funky. I don't think
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: he actually met retiring, but he was just like, well,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: my promoter basically, you know, maybe he thinks the promoter
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: won't you know, won't answer the calls. Whatever. Here's Jim
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Cross right, great boxing, follow Great Boxing nine. This is
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: just zone for you, right. I don't know if this
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: applies to everyone, but his own Canada has introduced his
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: own Plus Ultimate, which is putting almost everything worth watching
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: behind a second payball. Okay, we go back to that
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: additional cost, right, the new price forty nine per month.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: You know ESPN, and I believe is that ESPN and
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: Fox are gonna come out with an app. I don't
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: think it's fifty bucks a month. Actually, I think it's
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: going to be lower than that. But even if you
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: know Fox Sports and ESPN, they got a lot of
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: fucking popular sports in America, right in America, they do though,
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: so that would be worth it. So it's it's four
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: hundred and sixty nine per year. He basically said that
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: the subscription, you know, get you the leftover trash. It's
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: just like, oh my god, that is just nuts. Dude, like,
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: if that's your idea of pay, so we're gonna pay
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: fifty a month because, like I said, he said for
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: the pay per view fights, So that, like I said,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: does that still mean you're doing that? Then? Did I mention?
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: I don't think I did. The BBC BBC one and two,
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: I've revealed that would be broadcasting, even with replays of
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: the events on the eyeplayer. So bench loan Boxer got
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: a new broadcast deal. I've heard it's like once a quarter.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: I've heard a little bit more. I don't know, but
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: we'll see. I don't get too excited about that, because
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: you know, he's got to show more. He's got to
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: show more. Chava ESPN he's talking about Pedro Guavarro and
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: Adrian Kirel have agreed to fight each other September six.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: That's what the Nunias and Diaz that'll I think that's
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: on ESPN Knockout, that's the co feature. So that's kind
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: of interesting. Oh and I also saw was a Falaja
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: sport that Glovekin might be returning and it would be
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: at one seventy five. Watsie Parker. I like that fight.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Someone sent me a message, what do you think of
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: this November one. I think Manchester, Yeah, got of work,
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: out of work Marcos over at fight Hub. I saw
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: this tweet. I think Turkey's going straight to the fighters
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: now instead of the manager promoters. So I wouldn't be
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: surprised that they didn't know about the fight offers at all. Dude.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: It's like he's so plugged in. He's not plugged in
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: at all. Like that's been what it has been from
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: the start with Turkey for the most part, because I
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: remember Wilder going over there with his management or with
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: not al. But you know, I remember many a fighters
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: said they like to take talk to the fighter first,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: and if you want to bring your manager, cool, but
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: fighter first, and then bring back those digits that those
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: offers to the promoter or to the manager whatever. It's like,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Come on, dude, like what we what are we doing here?
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: Like what kind of a tweet is that? That's what
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: it's been? Where have I seen Orties in Ennis being staged?
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: I did see Las Vegas, but I don't know. I
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: don't know if it's gonna happen or not. But I
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: believe I believe I saw Vegas, but you know, I don't.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: I don't really know. I don't really know. Berlanga. Keith
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: Conley put out something on Instagram Berlanga come back plan set.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: I think he said December Danny Garcia at the Barclays
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: October eighteenth. I think top Rank saw this on brunch Boxing.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Shouts out to brunch Boxing. Check out the YouTube channel too.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: All right, sub sub it up. Top Rank will be provided.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Fighters will be providing fighters to help the October eighteenth
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: Barclays car so that we'll see. Let's see where that is.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: What do I think of Eddie Hearn saying the Bivil's
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: gonna go up and fight out Opataiah like, Hey, that's
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: a tough fight. But what are we doing here? You
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: know what I mean? What are we doing? Why the fuck?
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: You know? Why? Why? Why do that? When you owe
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: a fight? Another message? What's my favorite fight on the
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: Canelo craw for all that on the on the under card,
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: that's easy and Billy and Martinez banger. I like Martinez
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: in that fight, but a banger. I love that fight.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: That's a great fight, great great fight. The other two whatever.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: I wasn't expecting a ton to be honest with y'all,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: but we'll see. Griddy shouts out to gritty Eddie Hearn
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: doesn't turn ray Ford into the undercard. U gave fighter? Uh?
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: I mean to be fair well, he was on the
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: undercard though, so he's right. But to be fair well,
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: no he wasn't. He was, but he was fighting a
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: good fight. He was fighting a good fight. But to
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: be fair to gree he was on the undercard rather
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: than a main event and that fight that was made,
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: that was a main event worthy fight. And just to
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: give you some quotes, because I know people will.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: Be like, no, no, no, the deal says no pay
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: per view, right, you know, here's some quotes right from
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: cage bites.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: M m A. Dana White makes it clear that the
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: UFC isn't getting rid of pay per views entirely. One
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: off paper events are still possible. What I love about
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: the business is I can lay out what we think
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: fights are going to be for a year and a
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: fight will pop up that I never saw coming, A
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: star will pop up out of somewhere. Anything is possible,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: and you could do a one off pay per view.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: I'm going to be on the pay per views. The
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: Saturday pay per view is not dead. And that makes sense, dude,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: if you do get another McGregor randomly, You don't think
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: you don't think that Paramount is gonna want to make
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: some money off of that deal? Extra money? Yeah, because
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Dan said that, you know U Tko is you know,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: is the front runner is Paramount. But like I said,
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: you know, I don't know if that's true. But Dana
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: said they already got a deal in place. I don't know.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: What did I think of the offer sent to Hazos
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Ramos from Eddie Harri? What do I think of it?
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: From the sounds of it, I don't think anything of
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: it because it didn't happen. It wasn't Hazu. Did I
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: just say that wrong? Someone said, Hayesus Ramos, What do
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: I think of the offer U sent? You know with
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Hazus Ramos, I think it's a I think Ramos is
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: a better fight than old Boy. But you know, like
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: it was his brother Abel, Ramos have got the deal.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: So there has been talk about maybe on that same card.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: I don't know about you know about Stevens. Sure course
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: Stevenson being on there, but then there's there's talks about
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: Shaquart and top Malopez. I don't know. I don't know
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: about all that. I really don't know if that would happen. Okay,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: verbal agreement. This is boxing scene. Keith Thurman Sebastian Frondora,
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: October eighteenth. I'd assume a prime pay per view it
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: gets Fondora back in a hurry. You'd have Keith Thurman
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: fight more than every four years or whatever. You know,
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: I want to see the odds of that fight, because
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: say what you want, dude, but I'm saying like, stylistically,
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: we know the old cliche, but cliches, some of them anyway,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: ar cliches for a reason. Styles make fights and the
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: style and we know that you know I talk about
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Morrell stay on game plane, dude, We know that Thurman
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: would stay on game plan. But we also know that
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Fandora would attack that body. So I actually liked the fight.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I think it's a good fight. There was some talk
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: about Thurman or her tease and that he turned down
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: that fight. Well now we know why. Now we know why.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: I think this is a more winnable fight for him.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: But maybe maybe not. And if you're ever going to
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: fight in a controlled manner with your jab keeping, guys,
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: you know at the end of your punches. Basically what
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Fandora did in his last fight, and he showed you know,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: he's shown signs of that before, but never he's gonna
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: have to do that this fight, at least for a
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: good chunk of it until Thurman. You know, maybe you
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: get him on the rope, maybe he's heart to the
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: body all that shit. But stylistically, dude, it's not a
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: like like a jab going to the body. Pot shot move,
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: pot shot move. Now, when I say the word move,
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: you know the legs. You know, the legs could give out.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: You know, I'm not saying, oh, he's just gonna box
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: his head off, But that's a closer fight than I
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: think a lot of what I've seen people talking about.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Let's just put it that way. As far as the
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: pay per view, another fucking pay per view. We're still
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: looking for a Amazon part of your subscription fight card.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: So that's disappointing. They would have to really ramp up
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: that that pay per view under card. I saw boxing
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: tickets put out. The live gate was over six million,
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: comps over allowed eight percent, so a million but a
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: six million dollar gate and just short of eight thousand
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: soul So does that is that really a five million
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: dollar gate? Then with the comps. Is that is that
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: what's going on? But either way, that's still a healthy gate. Man.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: It was a loud crowd, that's for sure. Now Yafaya
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: in Sandoval, it sounds like there's going to be a
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: fight there, you know, ya Faya? What's he got left? Man?
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: What's he got left? I really don't know, man, I
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: gotta admit I do not know. Speaking of the PBC,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: we've heard rumors of not just pay per views, but
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: you know a mixture of you know, it's what is
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: it mid August? Can we get We've heard rumors about
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: a September and October card, but maybe they could announce
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: the September subscription card September twentieth or whatever that was
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: a working date or whatever. Obviously, ooh, you know what
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: I just remembered And this kind of goes with it
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: Fervante Davis talk about him to close the show. Clearly
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: that fucked some shit up, right, because it was shit
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: I forgot. It was supposed to be this weekend the rematch,
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: which you know, I think we'll not roach more than
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: earned the rematch, right, but it's on brunch boxing. PBC
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: fighters slated for the fourth quarter their return now obviously
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: not all of them are going to be on BBC cards,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: you know, David Benavitez and whatnot. But the list is
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: pretty long. Let's see Tank Benavide is, Charlo Thurman Rowley,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: the other Charlo from Dora, Russell, both Russells, actually maybe
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: all three Russells. What am I saying? Yeah? All three Russells, Fulton.
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: We know there's a signed fight there. I was hoping
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: that would be, you know, part of the sub Pitbull
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: Morrell Rascendez that I mentioned for Dora. I think I
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: did David Morrell, Venezuela, Ryo Vargas, Hernandez, Yo n La Ni,
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Maxio Figueroa. Let's see what he would be doing. Caleb Plant,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: Elijah Garcia, Lara Hey, that's right, Arizloni, Laura does fight,
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: Frank Martin, Otamus, play you Ramos and more. Let's see.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: Let's see what they got planned to close was the year,
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: because it's kind of been a stop start, stop start. Oh,
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: rumors of this that didn't happen, you know, so so
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: we'll see, we'll see how that that plays out. That's
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: that's about all we're gonna see there. I think that's
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: oh yeah, I just mentioned Gervonte Davis. Okay, so you
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: know a couple of days ago, two days ago, this
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: is the according to t m Z Sports, the Miami
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Dade State Attorney's Office says the case was dropped as
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: the victim is declining to prosecute per her victim. The
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: victim's attorney right the witness to the incident. The victim's
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: mother also failed to cooperate in and basically she failed
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: after being subpoenaed for a pre It says pre file conference.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: I think that's a pre trial conference, isn't it. It
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: was actually supposed to be last Thursday. They tried to
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: follow up via phone and they were unsuccessful. So the
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: charges are dropped. And although I got some pushback for
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: not throwing the book at Jimonte, mind you, this doesn't
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: mean nothing happen. Just like when you get charge of something,
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: it doesn't mean that happened either, right, And that's why
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: I try to stay neutral and just say what the
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: report is and get my thoughts on it. This all
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: stems from a couple of incidents. But the one incident
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: that we saw on tape, you know, look bad in public.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: You know, people say he choked her either way, you know,
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: grabbing her by the jacket like that near her neck.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: He didn't choke her, but he he physically did something
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: to a woman you shouldn't do, and he did it
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: in public, And so yeah, your mind races to, like, damn,
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: if he's willing to do this in public, what's he
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: willing to do, you know, behind closed doors? So yeah, yeah,
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: that that that races through your mind. But that's why
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: I just didn't rush the judgment overall. And that means
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: was he gonna fight again this year and all that stuff?
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: And even if he had like a you know, like
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: a trial and all that, he's still got a fot
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: you know like stuff. It probably wouldn't have been scheduled
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: for a long time anyway. So I'm not saying, see
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: this proves it because I don't know. Just like I
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: said originally, I don't know. People either love or hate Tank,
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: and so people run with it or protect him, and
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: I do neither. Neither neither either either. So yeah, I
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: mean it is what it is. I don't know, you know,
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: because does this mean he didn't do shit? It could
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: It could mean that the last two incidents could mean
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: exactly that that he just he didn't do shit, and
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: she's looking for a handout. Now, could we hear of
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: news in the future that there's a civil thing and
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: there's a settlement or something. We could We definitely could.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: I don't know, though, I don't know. I'm not gonna
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: sit there and say, oh, it's it's a civil I'm
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: not gonna spread rumors, you know what I mean? Either way,
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: Gervonte needs to bring his ass back in the rematch.
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: Man he can fight somebody out. Give Lamont roach the rematch,
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: bottom line, and then if you want to go fight Pack,
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: y'all go fight Pack. Whatever the fuck. But it sounds
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: like Patya is gonna be back in de summer, so
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: and maybe they want to, you know, match him with
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: Manny now while they gettings. I guess you could say good,
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: you know, I don't know that would sell, and it's
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: not like you're gonna get Manny fifty million up front
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: or something, you know what I mean. It would sell, though,
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: and I could see Amazon being very attracted to that fight,
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: but I'm not calling for the fight. What I understand
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: from a business perspective why they would do that, And
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: like I said, why Nanny didn't look old is too old.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: He looked better than I thought he would, but he's old.
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: Why not just get him right now and then go,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: you know, maybe get the Roach fight after. I don't
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: I have no blue, but I would prefer the Roach rematch.
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: I think he earned it. And YadA, YadA, YadA. Anyway,
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna get out of here. It's it's it's a
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: good card man. You know. We also have some other
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: fights this weekend. We have a pro box tomorrow night.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: I believe there was something I want to say, was there, like,
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: was there a weighing issue with somebody? I can't remember?
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: I can't remember. Yeah, I just don't remember. Yeah, don't
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: I don't remember if there was was there a waying
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: issue with somebody on that card? Uh? Let me did
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: actually double check here? Okay? Either way, there is a
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: pro box and I saw on is it Swerve Swerve TV.
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: You notice, like if you have Amazon Prime, you know,
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: you get a bunch of old school fights. They got
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: boxing channels. They got an HBO boxing channel and on
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: direct TV stream. Anyway, I think it's called Swerve they
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: you know, I saw the not long ago, they had
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: the Mayweather Codo fight. I think the undercard was was it? Uh?
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: I think it was Canello and Mosley. They also showed
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: the Mayweather Mosley fight, which I was at live, So
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: I've seen the most hurt Floyd Mayweather has been in
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: a ring, at least it appears to be the most hurt.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: But I also saw what he does when he gets hurt, right,
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: So yeah, you have I think it's yah yah koop
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: yakoubav something like that, and Foster William Foster, Castillo and
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: Bunch and it's pro box, it's cheap man, check it out,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: UFC fight pass A Trinidad para that that's both of
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: them are tomorrow. You have Rodriguez and Cortes on Saturday,
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: that's on ESPN Knockout and then yeah, I mean, I'm
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: not gonna tell you that, like the rest of August
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: is popping, you know what I mean. It's like, that's
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: why we really need September. It gets better, it definitely does.
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: But that's why we really need this card to pop.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: Like three out of those main four fights. Let's hope
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: that we see you know, a Tama get pushed it,
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: you know, maybe get chin checked a little bit, and
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: and we get entertainment on this card anyway, I'll be
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: back next week more of a regular scheduled time. Hopefully
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: John can join us. Either way, enjoy the fights. We'll
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: check you in next week.
