  so we can love and obey him more. So,

  let's huddle up and hear today's play

  from Romans 1. But Paul says, "I'm not

  ashamed of the gospel since it's God's
• 0:19
  powerful means of bringing salvation to
• 0:22
  everyone who keeps on trusting to the
• 0:24
  Jew especially, but equally to the
• 0:27
  Gentile. For in it is revealed how God
• 0:29
  makes people righteous in its sight and
• 0:32
  from beginning to end is through as the
• 0:35
  law puts it that the person who is
• 0:37
  righteous will live by his life by
• 0:39
  Christ. Paul says something in Romans 1
• 0:42
  that we've heard a thousand times but we
• 0:44
  may not have felt deeply in all. I am
• 0:46
  not ashamed of the good news for in it
• 0:49
  revealed how God makes people righteous
• 0:52
  from beginning to end. It's through
• 0:54
  trust. That word matters. It's not
• 0:57
  belief. It's not opinion, it's trust.

  Most of us think faith just means
• 1:02
  agreeing that something is true. But
• 1:04
  trust is different. Trust means wait,
• 1:07
  obeys, acts. You don't just trust and
• 1:10
  fear by believing it exists. You trust
• 1:12
  it when you so down. Paul is saying
• 1:15
  this, our entire relationship with God
• 1:17
  from start to finish is built on ongoing
• 1:21
  trust. Not a moment, not a prayer we
• 1:24
  prayed a long time ago. It's a life.

  It's where a lot of men get stuck. We
• 1:29
  believe Jesus stays, but we hesitate to
• 1:31
  trust him with our habits, our
• 1:33
  schedules, our finances, our obedience.
• 1:36
  And yet, Paul says, "Righteousness is
• 1:38
  revealed from beginning to end through
• 1:41
  trust." That means trusting Jesus when
• 1:44
  it's costly. Trusting him when obedience
• 1:47
  feels inconvenient. Trusting him when
• 1:50
  following his commands puts us at odds
• 1:52
  with the culture. Trust looks like daily
• 1:55
  submission, daily repentance, daily
• 1:58
  obedience. That and that trust produces
• 2:01
  movement. Many trust Jesus, seek him in
• 2:04
  the word. They pray consistently. They
• 2:06
  walk with other men. He sharpened them
• 2:08
  and they live out the gospel with their
• 2:10
  hands, their feet.
• 2:12
  This is why Paul says he's not ashamed
• 2:15
  because the gospel doesn't save us. It
• 2:17
  reforms us. Our lives become the
• 2:20
  evidence of our message. And if our
• 2:22
  lives don't match our words, our
• 2:24
  testimony collapses. But when we live
• 2:27
  what we proclaim and we trust Jesus and
• 2:29
  not to obey him, the gospel becomes
• 2:32
  visible. Then this is what faith looks
• 2:34
  like when it grows up. For one, today's
• 2:37
  play. Ask yourself honestly, where am I
• 2:39
  believing Jesus but not trusting him?
• 2:42
  Then do one concrete act of obedience
• 2:45
  today. Open the word. Confess your sin.
• 2:48
  Make the hard phone call. Serve someone
• 2:51
  quietly or share the gospel without
• 2:53
  apology. Trust isn't passive. Trust
• 2:56
  moves. Live like the righteous man Paul
• 2:59
  describes. The one who doesn't just
• 3:01
  believe, but live by trust. that this
• 3:04
  huddle huddle helped you know God better
• 3:06
  so that you can obey him more.
